#jl is trapped in another universe

So, due to a villainous plot, basically the entirety of the Justice League and all affiliated Heroes are stuck on the Watchtower when it is forcibly transported to a different Universe.

My idea is that an army of different Supervillains tricked every Hero they could onto the Watchtower, before using experimental technology to transport them to another Universe.

While the JL is stuck in another Universe, the Villains take this chance to take over as much of the world as possible

Meanwhile, the JL is stuck.

All of their Teleportation tech was sabotaged and/or destroyed (not that it would have been capable of transporting them across universes either way), and any magical ways of Universal Travel strong enough to transport the Entire Watchtower would require weeks of Preparation and Set-Up.

They consider sending just a few of their Heavy Hitters back alone, since the smaller level spells could be done fairly quickly, but they also know that there is a very real possibility that there is a trap waiting on the other side. They deem it too risky to try

Eventually, Constantine pipes up, “How about asking The King of the Infinite Realms?”

Zatanna replies, “Phantom? Well it could work, but we don’t have much information on him, we don’t know if he is trustworthy”

“Who is Phantom?” asks Batman

“Phantom is the King of the Infinite Realms, basically the space between Dimensions. He is also the God of Space, so he could definitely transport the entire Watchtower across Universes.”

“The Infinite Realms are also called the Ghost Zone, because it is technically one of the Afterlives you could end up in. All Souls traverse the Realms while heading to their respective Afterlives, but some stay behind and become Ectoplasmic Entities, or Ghosts”

“Why hesitate to ask him then?”

“We don’t know if he is trustworthy. The last King was named Pariah Dark, and he took advantage of his power of traversing Universes to try and conquer all of Reality.”

Eventually, they decide to summon Phantom, and he appears in the center of the Summoning Circle. He looks majestic, and his eyes are closed.

He shifts a bit, tilts forward, and falls flat on his face while snoring.

They summoned him while he was asleep.

Eventually after Danny  wakes up, they manage to make a deal with him to send them back in return for letting him live on the watchtower for his annual vacation

The justice league was in critical condition, a unknown entity had breached the universe's protection, and was now creating havoc everywhere.

He called himself, Skulker. he already had captured half of the justice league. and was only interested in fighting Red hood. Something about being a Halfa or something.

Red hood was not having fun, nor was Batman. Everything was in shambles. Even the most powerful cannot defeat the floating entity. the JLD was trying the best they could but to no avail they couldn't contain it, The entity aimed his weapon at Red hood and took fire.

When all hope seemed lost, Vines sprouted up the ground and saved Red hood in the last minute. The other vines also grabbed the other heroes and made a protective barrier between the entity and the JL.

confused the heroes looked at the rogue who was floating, his expression was now with fear and nervousness, he frantically looked at his surrounding seemingly expecting something.

"Are you all alright?" A voice asked, making all heads turn towards to a woman that looked like she's in early adulthood, with long black hair cascading down to hair waists, she looked like someone that can fit into Gotham's aesthetic with her thick eyeliner and her gothic style and a couple of vines that wrapped around her body.

"Who are you?" Batman asked his guard not wavering a single bit.

"My name is Foliahàrà, And we're here to take care of that Ghost." Sam pointed towards Skulker who was looking at her nervously.

"We're?" Superman asked

"Me and my partners. speaking of them here they are right now." Sam said in a tone that no one could specify if she's bored or it's just her personality.

A loud bang shook the city, when they looked back were the entity named Skulker was now gone, In his place was a man? woman? with white hair and green eyes, he had a cloak that shrieks royalty and a black pointy crown floating above their head, Skulker was now on the ground, a crater was formed below him, he was down. he was down. and all it took was a punch from the person

Another man came to the scene he was holding a thermos of some sort. he looked normal, normal clothes and all to the very least if you ignored all the gadgets and sand that followed him, he walked up to Skulker who was most likely knocked out, he opened the thermos and it turned the entity into a liquid before trapping it inside.

"Well that's taken care of." Foliahàrà said, as she retracted her vines that was protecting everyone, she froze then turned her surprised gaze towards Red Hood and eyed him making him uncomfortable, she floated to his direction making the man take a step back, Batman tried to hit her with his batarang keyword:tried, it just went through her.

for the first time she arrived she smiled at hood then with the outmost gentle voice she said. "you're a baby ghost." She cooed as she placed both of her hands at the side of Red hood's head, which he stared at her confused more confused when the pits became quiet all the sudden.

"I've got to tell Phantom and Codelith." she stated and took flight with the crime lord in her arms, she carried him towards her partners in the sky like a newborn baby, protests from the heroes below was ignored by Sam, as she continued to fly up, when superman tried to get her, she shot out a few of her vines that successfully trapped the hero, he tried to escape but her vines was stronger, and why was this power making him weak? like it doesn't hurt but it makes him really tired .

Red hood stayed quiet, trying to comprehend what happened did he get kidnapped or something? holy shit he did get kidnapped.

"Phantom, Codelith! I got a baby!" Sam stated as she finally catched up to them.

"Holy shit, Foliahàrà you can't just kidnap someone else's child" The one with glasses exclaimed with panicked hands, as he teleported near them.

"Cool new kid, More members for our cult" Phantom said as he floated towards red hood who still held onto the Photalis, because when i tell you he was afraid to fall 30 meters from the ground is an understatement.

After some questionable experiments you knew you had to blow the whistle

So you went to the Daily Planet.

That's where it all stared.

So smart with a kind heart, how could he not protect you?

He's deluded himself completely.

He can't see how he can be the villain in anyone's story let alone yours.

He's very aware of his own strength thankfully.

You are more of a risk to yourself than he is. At least physically 👀

You'd be moved to a farmhouse almost right away.

When it comes to kidnapping you, he has no self control, it's near instant.

he knows how fragile humans are and he refuses to take any chances.

No matter how much you pleaded with him it was no use.

He was the only one who could help you and stop Lex.

This man has a scary amount of patience. No amount of hitting or screaming is going to set him off.

He will subconsciously prolong any solution that would make Lex and his people less of a threat to you.

He'd insist on sharing a bed. If he was anyone else you'd be worried he would try something.

If he wanted that kind of thing from you, you knew he could just make you.

So you were pretty sure whatever this was it was at least a platonic infatuation.

At night he'd hold you so tight it was difficult to move.

A physical reminder of what you already felt inside, trapped.

There was no escaping that farm. Anywhere in the city he could hear you.

He'd hear the front door open or your panting as you tried to run for the nearest road.

He wouldn't allow any kind of phones or computers in the house.

Why would he? Need help? He'll be there faster than any cop. You are lonely? That's fine he'd love to have hour long talks about anything you want.

Batman

Your best bet is to play along for years maybe. How ever long it takes for him to maybe let you make a grocery run alone.

He found you on the streets. Maybe it was your sad eyes or your dirty face but he knew he had to take you in.

He'd tell himself he could help you learn to fight. That you'd make a great Robin.

Deep down he knew he'd never let you fight in any way.

He's not like Superman. He knows how much he cares for you is unhealthy. He knows it's wrong to take you in and effectively trap you in a huge manor but what else can he do?

He is a world class manipulator. He also has far less patience then Superman.

Too many escape attempts and he's going to make a plan.

He'd go as far as to allow you to "escape". Only to orchestrate some horrible traumatic event so he can find you and save you all over again.

Depending on how strong willed you were the worst it would be.

It was twisted and horrible but he almost craved reassuring you.

He loved your tears so long as they weren't for a real reason.

Bruce kept a tight lid on his emotions. You'd never see him lose it. He'd never show he was upset with you.

Despite this being a very unconventional child/parent relationship his go to punishment is normally grounding and lost of privileges.

You'd be home schooled of course.

He isn't all that hands on unsurprisingly.

He'd ask one of the other kids to keep en eye on you or even another justice league members.

Asking them for help wouldn't work.

The kids are on board with Bruce. Even if they weren't what could they do?

As for the other JL members he'd tell them you were mentally ill and confused.

He'd get his colleagues/friends admiration for being so selfless by raising a sick child and you'd just look crazy.

Bruce is not known for his affection but he does try.

If you are crying or screaming he might try and comfort you with a hug or by rubbing your back.

He's not the best at comforting words either but his little acts of kindness are where he shines

He'd do his best to make most of your days as structured and predictable as possible.

You'd be kept in the best health imaginable. whether you liked it or not.

Anything you can ask for he'd give you, so long as you don't ask for freedom.

He even makes time to tuck you in every night no matter your age.

If he has time he might even read to you.

You probably are never getting free of him and his kids but your best bet would be utilize the uncontrollable.

Batman is a planner. He likes to be able to predict things.

Try and wait till something goes majorly wrong.

All of Arkhams prisoners being released or an alien invasion are your only chances of slipping out of that place. You'd only get one shot though.

Diana isn't crazy right off the bat.

Wonder Woman

(This one might be the only non gender neutral one.)

You were an anthropologist given the rare opportunity to study the amazonians from the island of Themyscira.

She is cool under pressure and isn't easily impressed.

After so long of staying there she'd start to feel like you were her sister.

But once she's invested in you there is no going back.

She would follow you back to whatever city you called home.

She isn't shy about her sisterly love for you. There would be no mind games with her.

She respects you too much for that.

She is so direct about it she would likely just tell you, you were going to go back to the island with her and be with her forever.

Depending on your reaction towards her directness she may not even make you.

She might be okay with you just visiting. For a while at least.

She's confident and self assured.

If you liked being around her as much as she likes being around you things would be easy.

If not life was going to be hard and potentially painful.

Rejecting her affection and forthcomingness will break her heart.

She would blame herself and work to be better.

Unfortunately being better to her means giving you even less space.

She'd make you come back with her.

An island full of tall strong women all who listen to Diana's will.

You are not escaping.

She is near impossible to trick twice if you have already tried to get away from her.

That being said it wouldn't be all that bad.

She would be painfully gentle with you. So long as you just listen.

You are her little sister after all.

She differs from Kent and Bruce in a big way.

She would train you, she is pragmatic and understands one day she may not be there to protect you.

Long and rigorous training sessions would be the norm for a while.

On Themiscyra you'd have much more freedoms. You would even be able to walk around alone if you showed you can handle it.

Your happiness is her second priority after your safety.

She'd being you anything you wanted from your part of the world.

She would like for you to participate in amazonian traditions and customs but she'd never make you. Even if she wants to sometimes

She'd relish in watching you acclimate to her world.

She would insist her sisters treat you with the love and respect she feels you deserve.

Your only hope of escape would be to somehow get off the island and disappear.

Nothing sort of complete disappearance would work. If she ever caught you again you wouldn't be leaving that island for a second time.

Lan zhan decides that he does not want to live eternaly and he ages with wei ying. Lan zhan is sharing his spiritual energy with wei ying and this way he ie sustaining the both of them until he finally runs out of it and one day they lay in bed and they die together in the jingshi. STAS episode recommendations! for people who do not want to watch the whole thing but want to enjoy the JL/JLU arcs with full context.

there’s 4 main arcs set up in STAS that are relevant for the rest of the DCAU: Brainiac and Lex, Apokolips, Cadmus, and the World’s Finest coming together. Here are the twelve episodes relevant to those plot threads.

1. last son of krypton (3 parts): technically skippable, mostly your standard superman origin story but pretty well done, with some genuinely excellent details; part 1 is most relevant, establishing Brainiac as a Kryptonian AI, which was original to this series, and its hatred towards Jor-El and the House of El.

2. stolen memories: Brainiac returns, beginning its long interaction/rivalry with Lex Luthor, and an important emotional moment for Clark as he learns for the first time real information about Krypton beyond the short recording his parents left for him.

3. tools of the trade: Introduces Dan Turpin, the Jack Kirby tribute detective, and his crusade against Intergang and its Apokoliptic weaponry.

4. brave new metropolis: Lois enters an alternate universe where fascist Superman and Luthor have joined forces to rule Metropolis. Not directly connected to the aforementioned arcs, but this theme will obviously return in JL/JLU.

5. ghost in the machine: Brainiac has trapped Lex in his basement and forces him to build it a new body. Sets the tone for their relationship going forward, which comes to a head in JLU.

6. world’s finest (3 parts): you know it. batman and superman team up because the joker is hired by lex luthor to kill superman. it slaps. end of story.

7. apokolips...now! (2 parts): possibly the best episode of the series, the Apokolips arc comes to a head as Darkseid invades Earth and Clark loses in more ways than one.

8. little girl lost (2 parts): Clark finds the last survivor of Argo, another planet in Rao’s orbit. Kara In-Ze, the DCAU Supergirl, is eager to join the neverending battle, but her very first outing brings her face to face with Darkseid as Clark is captured by the Furies.

9. where there’s smoke: the first hints of the Cadmus arc. Clark investigates a shadowy organization that may be trying to create or control metahumans. technically skippable, but Clark rules in this episode.

10. knight time: when Bruce Wayne mysteriously disappears, Clark teams up with Robin to impersonate Batman and find him.

11. the demon reborn: Ra’s al Ghul and Talia capture Superman in order to carry out a dangerous plan. Batman to the rescue.

12. legacy (2 parts): the finale of STAS, the climax of the Apokolips arc, and a critical inciting incident for the Cadmus arc. Darkseid captures Clark before the story begins and brainwashes him into attacking the Earth.

Episodes that have little to no bearing on the above-mentioned arcs, but which nevertheless slap and you should consider watching anyway under the cut:

- the late mr. kent: probably the best standalone episode. when Clark tries to prove a death row inmate’s innocence, he’s targeted for assassination, and has to figure out how to clear the inmate’s name without revealing how he survived a car-bombing.

- mxyzpixilated: the imp from the fifth dimension comes to torment Clark, who gets to show off his quick wit. Along with the late mr. kent, some of the best characterization.

- speed demons: A charity race between Superman and the Flash (Wally West), who do NOT get along at first, is interrupted by the Weather Wizard. The best superhero team up in the series with someone not named Batman. other teamups include in brightest day with Kyle Rayner Green Lantern, the hand of fate with Dr. Fate, and a fish story with an Aquaman who is not quite JL Aquaman but close. but those are all worse than speed demons. watch that instead.

- the main man (2 parts): Lobo, who is a riot, is hired by The Preserver, an organism who wants to preserve the last specimens of their kinds, to capture Clark for its zoo.

- the way of all flesh: Metallo’s introduction, an excellent standalone story that shows off Lex’s manipulative abilities while also featuring some genuinely pathos-filled dialogue as Metallo loses his senses.

- identity crisis: a tour de force for Tim Daly as he voices Clark and the flawed, Frankensteinian, sympathetic clone Bizarro.

Episodes which cannot in good conscience be grouped in with the above on account of they are not actually good, but which are kind of fun regardless:

- warrior queen: maxima, a forward, brash dictator, decides to kidnap Superman, whom she deems the only man in the universe powerful enough to be her husband. it’s just pretty brainless fun tbh

- father’s day: Kalibak plots to take down Superman to earn his father Darkseid’s regard, while Jonathan and Martha visit Metropolis; Darkseid and Clark come face to face for the very first time. Technically relevant to the Apokolips arc but skippable, mostly on here because it has delightful boomer Kents and sets up the Kalibak/Orion/Clark parallels. It’s also very transparently how Clark works in the DCAU, in that he is so incredibly bad at fighting until something reminds him he’s Superman instead of a pea brain dummy and then he wins the fight in 30 seconds.

- unity: Kara and Clark have to fight a classic small-town horror alien invasion set in Smallville, which has targeted among others the Kents. my thesis is if you’re going to have the Kents alive in your setting you better DO something with them, and while this is...an...odd thing to do with them it’s for sure better than having them sit around and dispense apple pie wisdom and nothing else the entire series. also i like alien invasion horror.

RWBY/Justice League Movie Review

I went into it with extremely low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. It's not amazing, but I really enjoyed it for what it was. I would 100% immediately buy a Part 2 if it was made, and would recommend this to anyone who loves RWBY and wants more after the V9 finale, or a JL fan who wants to get into RWBY.

Without spoilers... they leave the door open enough to this that the movie could actually be canon in the RWBY universe! (No idea if the same can be said for JL.) It also has lots of cute moments for the bees, as well as some hard hitting emotional moments with some of our favorite characters.

It's geared towards RWBY viewers. I watched it with someone who knew Justice League, and while I could pick up on the JL elements easily, they struggled with the RWBY stuff. The JL characters felt like they belonged in the RWBY universe.

So the last scene confirms this movie is taking place during V7 (between when they get their new outfits V7C3 and the election V7C6). I could totally see Watts being the one behind it, teaming up with Killgore to trap RWBY and co.

Just one of the many things that Watts did to try and destroy Atlas.

Okay but like, those Jaune and Pyrrha scenes were just mean!! Jaune knowing the entire time that Pyrrha isn't real, yet still desperately clinging onto the hope that there's a way back to her.

When Jaune is in the white room with Jessica, he realizes this is all fake, which leads him to think that maybe his memories, of Beacon falling, of Pyrrha's death, are all fake too. So... he literally throws himself to the grimm in hopes that it kills him and he wakes up in a reality where Pyrrha is alive.

Just... wow. A really great way to show his trauma.

I'm of the opinion that we'll never actually see Pyrrha, the real Pyrrha, ever again in RWBY. It's the most permanent loss that the show has ever had, and will always have. In a way, I'm glad the movie respected that? Overall, the movie definitely felt in the spirit of RWBY.

Another reason I think it could be canon is because its themes of leadership, of not being enough, really fit in with what was going on in the show at the time.

I really liked Jaune and Jessica together. Jaune is at his best self when he's supporting someone else, helping them realize their true potential. 10/10 use of him.

Jessica was also ADORABLE, from her design, to her personality, to her arc during the movie. Definitely my favorite of the JL characters. They'd make good friends.

Superman was good, and he and Ruby played well off each other as leaders of their respective worlds. No further comments.

Batman was awesome. Loved his wings. Loved his character arc. Him and Weiss together were pretty great, runner up duo after Jaune and Jessica.

Cyborg/Nora/Ren was... alright? Found it funny that Nora basically decided not to pay attention to either of them.

Flash and Vixen were both there too. My JL co-watcher pointed out halfway, rather annoyed, that the Flash should be faster than that. Turns out, he called the villian twist early!

Like I said before, if you like RWBY as much as I do, where you hang on every little piece of content we get, you'll enjoy this. As far as the extended universe goes, I'd rank this above Arrowfell (game was fun, but the story was a mess, sorry Arrowfell!), but below Roman Holiday.

Something I'm intrigued by and very confused about is how does the Hawkman (2002-2006) run and the Blackest Night/Brightest Day events fit into the most recent Hawk canon?

The Metal series established that during the 20th century, Carter and Shiera were married and were involved in discovering the secrets of the Dark Multiverse. Carter then went into the Multiverse and disappeared, later to be brought back as the Dragon of Barbatos. After that was concluded, the story of the 2018 Hawkman run started.

Shiera died sometime after Carter disappeared and was then reincarnated as Shayera in Thanagar (and I guess one could include the Hawkworld storylines, with some retcons and adjustments, in this timeline?). Carter, while still being lost in the Dark Multiverse, was also reincarnated as Katar, who ended up dying fighting Despero. As we know, Carter and Shayera were then reunited in the last Hawkman run.

Kendra, for her part, was born/reincarnated as the other half of Shiera on Earth, was apart of the Blackhawks, was involved in the Metal event and became a member of the JL.

THAT'S THE NEW POST-REBIRTH CANON! Now on to the old one...

There was no Dark Multiverse storyline so Carter and Shiera only died when they were merged with Katar's soul in the Zero Hour event.

Then in the JSA (1999) book Carter is brought back from the "nether-realm" where Shiera's soul was also trapped before she reincarnated in Kendra when she tried to "unalive" herself.

At least 2 other circumstances that don't add up with the new canon are the meeting between Shayera and Carter in the Hawkman (2002-2006) run, where Shay initially mistakes Carter for Katar and Shayera's death in the Rann-Thanagar War (2005) series. Keep in mind that before Rebirth, Shiera and Shayera were 2 separate people while now they are reincarnations of one another.

SO when did the whole story with Kendra and Carter actually happen? In a parallel universe, while Carter was stuck in the Dark Multiverse? Is it not considered canon anymore? Do the writers get to pick and choose if they want to acknowledge it?

This is INCREDIBLY stupid and self indulgent but what if instead of being trapped in the speed force or sent to the future (both incredibly popular theories to why Wally actually isn’t dead) he does a multiverse switch via speed force and gets him plopped into the JL/JLU universe in which he becomes the Flash in that universe (and JL/JLU fuckin slaps??? He’s just such a nice guy, kind of has the plotline that you can see YJ wally has the bones of) and since he is trapped in the multiverse he obviously can’t get home but similarly...he devoted blood, sweat, and effort to being this universe’s Flash, he is a founding member of their justice league (canonically, in JLU Wally is their leagues heart and conscious, when he died in one time line they became tyrants) and this central city needs his protection too. He’s obviously homesick but...sometimes you become a damn good flash in another universe and you el woods style your way into everyone hearts and now you know you can’t just leave them, no matter how homesick you are. It might not be the earth he was born on but it’s the one he y’know has almost died protecting (I know it’s corny).

Also on a personal note, JL/JLU Wally is a fuckin powerhouse when he’s actually being serious and like...god I hate how bad they nerfed Wally in yj, just have him soak in the speed force and have him pop off...I would love to see him have a Flash Vs Brainiac/Luther moment.

I'm starting to really hate the salt fics, specially the class salt. It's been mentioned already how for a while the ml salt tag more often than not has been used for bashing of a character one dislike instead of as a way of criticize and/or fix many of the show plot-holes, which was the salt original function. While that's a serious issue, that's not what this post it's about.

My problem right now with the salt fics (specifically the class salt) it's how they're so freaking repetitive.

I can think at least in a dozen of ways to give them a different twist, not all of them involving Lila (Here’s a list), and yet with a few exceptions most salt fics revolve around the same plot over and over again.

Before starting I would like to point out something for those fics in which Marinette change schools: I'm not an expert or anything but I think that in France "Ecole" is used for primary/elementary/grade school, "Collége" for middle school (this can be confusing) and "Lycée" for high school; just a small detail that's been bugging me for a while.

Ok, Let's start:

"Lila says that Marinette is a bully, class bully Marinette, Lila's revealed as a liar, class apologize to Marinette and ask her to be their friend again, Marinette doesn't want to" That's pretty much the plot of several class salt fics that I read, in which 'the class' acts as a single entity who shares a single brain cell (which Lila holds).

"Marinette how could you?!" practically always shouted by Alya, who's an abusive bitch who denounced her friendship with Mari and still expects the heroine to do everything they demand from her. Oh, and when the truth comes out the rest have to hold back so she wouldn't attack Lila for ruining her blog.

"Everyone abandoned Marinette except a select few" who get two lines if they're lucky, mentioning how stupid is the rest of the class for believing such easy lies and showing out how amazing their lives are now that they got rid of the extra weight.

"This is Chlo, she's my bestie" with no explanation of how that happened. What's worse, instead of making her a better person who tries to be nice with her new friends, Marinette fell to her level and now is the new HBIC.

"Marinette's such a bully" all while destroying her things, sending her hate messages and physically assaulting her.

Ms Mendeleiev class/the quantic kids are Marinette's new friends.

Adrien's a poor angel who can do no harm or an absolute piece of shit, no middle ground.

Nino (if he appears at all) is trapped in an abusive relationship with Alya.

"Crossovers with Marvel or Dc universe*" I haven't seen JL since I was little but I'm pretty sure the team has more than five members, including several magic users who would've stopped Hawk Moth by Origins. While the Avengers have a lot less members, S.H.I.E.LD. is still a thing and they would've send someone to investigate, like Phil Coulson undercover as Bustier replacement.

*Note: I don't read the comics nor I'm interested in them, so I'll admit that my only knowledge of this universe comes from the movies, cartoons, and this site.

"Class trip to Gotham, Metropolis, New York, etc" What kind of school would send their most mentally unstable class to another continent? Do the students even speak the language?

The love square, again unless Adrien's an ashole, are dating, knows each other identities and use pet names like 'kitty' or 'my lady' in the middle of class.

Marinette lost her crush on a rich kid and found the love of her life in *gasp* another rich kid. How shocking (I would've put "rich white kid" if not for Kagami and Prince Ali).

"Marinette's the biological daughter of..." or related to, or friends with this or that celebrity, normally used as a plot device to reveal Lila's lies.

“Lila lies are revealed at the end”.

This is an AU I thought up for Halloween, but never got around to writing it proper. Alternate Universe where Jiang Cheng was actually killed by the Wens at Lotus Pier and that was the catalyst of him turning into a monster. On the bright side, however, Wei Wuxian does not die and Jin Ling gets to grow up with both his parents, so! This is my take on vampires in the MDZS universe, featuring one grumpy uncle and the nephew that loves him despite his fangs.

He’d seen the eyes since he was five. Glowing purple lights in the corner of his room, watching him sleep. It had scared him, at the start, until he’d realized that his fear made the eyes go away. And that’s when his curiosity had won out.

When he’d found the courage, he’d asked the eyes to stay, the eve before his sixth birthday, and had been given a dirty, wrinkled paper with smudged charcoal characters for his effort. It smelled of blood, and dirt, and something like cold death, but his fear had fled and his life had never been the same.

I’m sorry I scared you. I just wanted to know you are safe. Tell me to leave and I will. I’m not here to hurt you, A-Ling.

Jin Ling hadn’t told the eyes to leave. Quite the opposite. He demanded the eyes stay, but only after a long bath and a change of clothes, because he didn’t want ma-ma to think he was dirtying the floors on purpose, or ba-ba to worry that he was sneaking outside.

The floors were clean from then on, but Jin Ling’s escapes into the dark night had only just begun.

The eyes belonged to a man, or what used to be a man. Honestly, Jin Ling had no idea what he truly was. Uncle Wei had told him of walking corpses and of reanimated corpses, but neither of these drank blood, or had fangs and claws. The man was still very human in his mind, even if his body did not remember being so, and was worried enough about his own beastly side to muzzle himself with a heavy, iron mask so he did not accidentally bite Jin Ling. Or so he had explained, writing in the dirt with a stick. He couldn’t speak, but he could make some noises and was far more intelligent than any non-human beast Jin Ling had heard about. He was oddly funny at times, stern at others. He had a perpetual scowl on his face, and the violet glow in his eyes could dim or sharpen depending on his mood. He was fascinating, a steady friend, and Jin Ling had come to depend on him greatly.

Because the best thing was that he was family.

Jin Ling was ten when Uncle Wei finally told him the story of Jiang Cheng, how he’d been captured by the Wen Clan and killed in Lotus Pier. That was the story everyone knew, the tragedy of the fallen Jiang Heir, but Uncle Wei knew the full truth because he had been there. He’d seen Lotus Pier ablaze and running red with death. He’d seen the Wen dead, scattered corpses everywhere he looked. They’d been drained, completely, of blood, and it’d happened when they’d been alive, begging for mercy. Their mummified faces were still screaming, in fact.

At the center of the flames and carnage had been Jiang Cheng, but not the Jiang Cheng Uncle Wei had known. He was no longer human, no longer afraid, and he’d murdered everyone in that place without hesitation.

He’d only hesitated, Uncle Wei had admitted, the stink of wine heavy on his breath, when he’d approached and reached out for his brother, calling his name. The humanness had returned, but the beastly shell had trapped it inside. Jiang Cheng was forever changed and had disappeared into the form of a raven the moment Uncle Wei had touched his face and Uncle Wei had spent the years searching in vain for him since.

Jin Ling knew his jiu-jiu didn’t wish to hurt anyone he cared about. Jiang Cheng had told him himself after many months of figuring out a sign language known only to the two of them, so they didn’t have to write everything down in the dirt. Though he had not been able to wrestle the story out of Jiang Cheng - yet - he knew enough to know Jiang Cheng regretted it, regretted what he was, and had isolated himself because of it. But what mattered most was that he was still here, wanting to be with Jin Ling, and that meant the world to him, even if his jiu-jiu was all shades of terrifying and always dirty.

Jiang Cheng was Jin Ling’s most closely guarded secret and a treasured one. He sat there with his unblinking eyes and let Jin Ling go off about his day, listening raptly to whatever he said. They bickered over sword techniques, or who was a better shot with a bow, and Jiang Cheng trusted him enough to accept the waterskin full of animal blood Jin Ling always brought and remove the mask he wore over the lower half of his face. Jin Ling loved those times the most, even if it was disgusting with the smell and sounds, because he knew Jiang Cheng loved him enough to trust him with his most beastly side. And Jin Ling trusted him too, completely.

Ma-ma had always taught him to be brave. Brave enough to see the good in people, to stand up for himself and for his loved ones. Bravery had given Jin Ling the chance to connect to his monstrous uncle, and love had bound them together. He just wished he was brave enough to tell ma-ma that the raven that often perched to watch her in her garden was the younger brother she still mourned, or to tell Uncle Wei that Jiang Cheng was not giving into his beast, but was clinging as firmly to humanity as he could. That they could be proud of Jiang Cheng. That they hadn’t fully lost him, nor he they.

But Jin Ling didn’t know where to begin. The cultivation world was not forgiving to those that strayed from the path, who became monsters the way the Wen had. Just because he knew his jiu-jiu would never hurt him didn’t erase the fact that he was a monster and a monster Jin Ling had no idea what to label, or how to deal with. He loved Jiang Cheng fiercely and that love was returned, but Jin Ling feared that would not be enough to keep Jiang Cheng safe from the world if he were to be discovered.

So he kept quiet and swallowed down that guilt. Until the night when he couldn’t hide anymore.

He’d just turned sixteen when Carp Tower was flooded with walking corpses. No one knew where they’d come from or could understand their sheer numbers, and it was immediate chaos. Jin Ling grabbed his bow and arrows and charged into the fray, shooting them down before they could reach ma-ma and ba-ba, who was surely already protecting her.

Distantly, he could hear shouting, the snarl of Fairy as the dog lunged at the nearest corpse, and knew they’d be overrun if he didn’t act, and act quickly.

Be brave, sweetheart, his mother’s voice filled his heart, his blood, and Jin Ling summoned as much spiritual energy into himself as he could, firing at the horde. They were drawn in by the feel of it, he knew, and obediently started to follow him, lumbering but gaining speeds that were definitely the result of a hidden puppeteer.

“Fairy, guard ma-ma!” was his final order before he turned and sprinted into the woods.

The route was well known, well loved, and it was with confidence he fought the charging monsters as he ran for the old tree by the pond, a gnarled, ancient thing that Jiang Cheng loved for some reason, and yelled out a warcry so his jiu-jiu would know he was coming. That he needed help, needed his uncle, needed the beast.

With a wicked silence, the slice of claws through flesh, the beast came. Those eyes were electric, sharp and focused, a feral sound in Jiang Cheng’s throat as he took out a corpse that had gotten too close to Jin Ling. They had a bare moment to nod to one another before they were fighting side by side, eating away at the numbers until all that was left was a stinking pile of rot and severed limbs.

Jiang Cheng slowly turned to look at him when the last one fell, eyes accusing and almost violent with how much fear there was, and Jin Ling huffed, reading his unspoken words far too easily.

“I had to get them away from Carp Tower somehow,” he defended himself, nose in the air. “And I heard about a grumpy, homicidal beast in the woods that would help me out.”

Jiang Cheng’s hands were a flurry of quick, sharp words, and Jin Ling bit down a wild grin as the sentence formed. “So sorry for being protective of those I love.” He had never known anyone could make their hands dance so sarcastically, but his jiu-jiu was a master of it.

Jin Ling sheathed the arrow he’d pulled and walked over to Jiang Cheng, reading the tension still in his shoulders with a spike of guilt. In one fearless movement, he touched the front of the iron mask - carved into the shape of bared teeth after a twelve year old Jin Ling had complained it’d been too boring - and looked up at those violet eyes, gleaming angrily in the dark.

“I’m sorry for scaring you,” Jin Ling said, contrite now, and bit his lip. “I just… I had to get them away from ma-ma.”

“I know,” Jiang Cheng sighed. “I would have done the same.”

Jin Ling puffed up at that, knowing it for the praise it was, and grinned. “We made a great team. I told you so.”

A low growling huff. “Brat.”

He felt a laugh starting to bubble in his chest, but it died the moment he heard voices shouting down the path, calling his name. Ba-ba, it sounded like, and Uncle Wei.

“You have to go,” Jin Ling hissed, panic gripping his heart. “Please, jiu-jiu. If they see -”

“A-Ling.” It was his favorite sign in the world, the way Jiang Cheng wove his name. A tap on his heart, then his fingers lifting in a graceful arch under his throat. A-Ling. From my heart to my mouth. A-Ling. “I am not afraid.”

And for once he did not look it. He looked resolved, ready to face the world again, and Jin Ling knew he should be proud of that, proud that he more than likely caused it, but he only felt fear, cold and fierce, and felt the tears prick his eyes when the voices came closer.

Jiang Cheng gripped his shoulder, gave it a squeeze, and Jin Ling forced himself to stand upright. Take a breath. He had to stand tall for his uncle now, stand firm in all they had. So he would.

Young Justice Theory: So I want to talk about Halo...

I’ve seen a lot of discussion about Halo the character in Young Justice. And, while I’m loathed to throw myself into this discourse, I feel like a lot of misinformation is being bandied about in regard to the character.

Now let me say this much, I am not coming at this from the standpoint of the character being a Muslim girl. Rather I’m coming at this from the standpoint of what and who the character is and why I think a lot of this commentary is…a bit of an issue when it comes to Halo and her role in the series.

So let’s start at the beginning. Who is Halo...?

The original Halo is a girl by the name of Violet Harper who was a troubled teen. She and her then boyfriend stole a drug formula from Tobais Whale (if you watch Black Lighting you will know about this kingpin) and ran off to Markovia where she was killed by an Assassin sent out by Whale. Her body was later found by the the Aurakle, who took it over and revived her. Batman discovered her, and she had no idea who she was. Due to her using Light powers he gave her the code name Halo, so he could at least call her something, and the two helped form the Outsiders to deal with the war in Markovia.

During her time with the Outsiders, Halo takes the name Gabrielle Doe and lives in a penthouse with Katana, becoming Katana’s Legal ward. She attended high school and started to date, making Brion a bit jealous, and the two realized when they spoiled one another’s dates that they loved one another. Eventually Batman found out Halo’s past and she eventually went to live with Violet’s parents, discovered that Violet needed to make amends for her past behavior and then broke things off with Brion.

Tobais Whale came back into Halo’s life seeking out the drug formula, and kidnapped her parents. She had no idea what he was talking about as the memory of the theft was gone, even with the help of her friends Violet’s parents were killed. Her memories were returned when the JL discovered what possessed her body, and the Auakle wanted to split her and their friend, killing her in the process. The outsiders saved her, and was finally left in peace to go find herself.

During this time she got lured into the Kobra cult and had to be saved by the Outsiders once more, rejoined them. However her body was killed during events of an attack on Markovia, where the ex wife of one of the Outsiders allies, and Halo took over the body of Marissa Barron, but went by the name of Violet due to connections to her former body.

In addition the new 52 redid her story to have it where Violet was imprisoned by the Kobra cult in Markovia. During this time Katana, who is on her own mission, frees Violet and steals a police van with the girl, only for the two to be caught when they stop the van to rest, thinking they’re safe.

In the redone story of Halo, the Aurkles have been captured by Kobra, and with the help of a kidnapped Scientist (I think it’s Dr. Jace) Violet is forced to experimented upon and this gives her super powers. The try to mind control her, but the Aurkles breaks free and kills everyone present but shields Violet from harm. Katana threatens to kill them and they back off allowing her and Violet to escape.

When awake from her ordeal Violet uses her powers but Katana and her partner the Entchantress knock her out. Enchantress at the time tries to free Violet from the Aurkles, but the bond is permanent. During this time the Aurkles try to free their friend, but their actions would have killed Halo, so Enchantress has to kill them to keep her alive. Halo saves Katana and Enchantress and Katana takes Halo on as a sister and offers to let her live with her.

Second question…what is Qurac?

Okay so while one can see Qurac as a fake name for Iraq the two nations are not the same and are independent of one another’s history.

Qurac is a gulf nation that runs along the eastern boarder of the Sinai Peninsula from Oman and Rub’al Khali on the south, Saudi Arabia and the Summan on the west and Iraq and Wadi al Batin on the north.

It’s considered an Outlaw nation due to it’s anti-u.s. policies and was a major sponsor of terrorism in the west. Originally, it was ruled by the Ottoman Empire until around the time of WW1 when English and Arab forces defeated the Empire, and the area then held by England until WW2. Now things get interesting…

So during WW2 the Premier of Iraq, one Al-Gailiani, who was a Arab Nationalist, decided to replace the then moderate Iraqi government with a Pro-Axis one. The Brits were having none of that thus the Invasion of Basra in 1941.

Hassan al-Sadr, one of Al-Gailiani’s supporters, fled south and galvanized Arab tribesmen into an army, and, taking the name Sulieman, he was aided by the Germans with materials and funding to establish the nation of Qurac. Because of their alliance Qurac allowed the building of Jotunheim, a giant fortress which was later assaulted by the Suicide Squad when a terrorist organization took hold of it. Jotunheim wrecked the shipping in the Oman and Persian gulfs during this time, and eventually Sulieman’s regime was defeated by the end of the war.

After WW2 Qurac became a republic and that lasted until the 1970s when a military coup led by General Marlo, overthrew the elected government and declared it a military dictatorship, against the will of the people. During his reign Marlo has tested nuclear devices that contaminated the oil supply which is the foremost natural resources. This lead Marlo to attack several international locations, among them Metropolis, causing Superman to come after him and destroy much of his military capability. Marlo eventually was defeated and brought to stand trial thanks to the work of the Suicide squad. Sometime later Cheshire used a nuclear missile on the nation as a means to show she wasn’t afraid of using the weapons she had stolen, causing trouble for aid workers to help survivors.

So that is the comic history of the nation and character…

Question three is…what is a mother box and a New God?

So a New God is a being that is from New Genesis or Apokolips. Respectively you can see them as a heavenly place or a hellish landscape. Batman believes each New God represents something, like Orion is War, Mr. Miracle is Freedom, etc. They live on the Fourth world which is in close proximity to the Source, which is basically a place where most of the powers of the universe come from.

“The Source is the "source" of all that exists and acts as the limitless energy from which all life sprang forth in the Universe. The Source created and was created by the emergence of the Universe approximately 19 billion years ago.[1] Mostly associated with the New Gods, the Source was the supposed origin of the "Godwave" that is believed to have been responsible for creating and empowering the "Gods" with their divine abilities. It also seems to be partially responsible for the ability of certain people to develop super-powers, especially those which defy the laws of physics.

Lying at the edge of the known multiverse is the Source Wall, which protects the Source, and traps all those who attempt to pass beyond it as Promethean Giants.”

So New Gods evolved into almost perfect beings due to their close connection to the source, their technology and other factors. They’re faster, stronger, smarter, etc. than their cousins the humans of earth, even though they look like us.

Another factor about the New Gods is that they are technically immortal, have acceletated healing, and you can’t really kill them with natural means, you need a specific sort of material to use against them, or they just will keep healing up and fixing themselves. Now I don’t know if anyone of them has ever revived directly from death, but near death…yes, several times.

They also obtain powers that are pretty much super depending on who it is.

As for the Mother Box…

So these “living computers” are half sentient being half highly developed machine. The New God Himon, who used Tenth Metal to build the boxes, which is seen as possibly being alive, created them and they can do a number of things. Anything from forming a boom tube, to translating, to energy manipulations to teleportation to, even healing an injury.

According to Metron, one of the smartest New Gods, the Mother box shares a rapport with nature and it’s user, providing unconditional love to the person that owns it and will self destruct should the person that owned it die. Keep in mind the mother box can be woven into just about anything, Scott Free has his in his costume as a part of it.

The list of things they can do is wild:

Change gravity

Transfer energy from one place to another

 Control the mental state of a host

 Communicate with other life forms

 Manipulate the life force of a host to sustain it past fatal injuries,

Open and close boom tubes

Take over and control non-sentient machines

Merge sentient beings into a single more powerful being

Sustain a life form in a hostile environment.

Okay so now about Earth 16 Halo….

So what do we know about Violet? We know that she was named Gabrielle and that she was a citizen of the republic of Qurac, which has been having strife with Queen Bee. We know that she came to Markovia after being chased down by a group of monsters that seems to be attacking. For some reason she agreed to open the door to let assassins in to kill the King and Queen and then was killed herself to install a mother box in her.

It’s clear by now it’s a mother box. But who did it belong to.

This becomes important I think in understanding the character we have here. Gabriella died, and while the Mother box did revive her, much like the original Halo, this is not the same girl that was Gabrielle. This isn’t a case of amnesia, the only thing keeping Violet alive right now is that box inside her, and that box, should the owner die, will destroy itself, unless it sees Gabriella as it’s owner now.

This means that the girl that we have before us isn’t really Gabrielle, she is the Mother box (or New God) taking on a new form, and reading the memories that are storied in Gabrielle’s mind. Because of the fact that the original Gabrielle died, we can then view this person as someone that is, for lack of a better term, wearing Gabrielle’s skin. This also brings up the question of identity and if the being inside her, that being this Mother box, identifies with Gabrielle’s religion or not. Violet at this point clearly feels that continuing to at least wear the hijab is the right thing to do for her, as she says, “it feels right” shows that at least the Mother box is reading the remaining emotions or whatever, inside of Gabrielle’s memories.

A lot of the issues people seem to be having with her centers around if she is her nationality, and honestly I have to say, no, she is not. The moment Gabrielle died and the Mother box activated reviving her, she lost all of that. She became a new person who is learning to be the person that Gabrielle was, but she is not Gabrielle. Thus the taking of the new name. Because of this, you can’t really judge the character on the outfits or actions they put her in based on who Gabrielle was, because this isn’t her anymore, and I don’t think this is ever going to be again. The girl that was Gabrielle died, she is dead, and there is no bringing her back. All we have now is Violet, a person who is learning to be a person, who is experiencing things for the first time inside a person’s body.

Now was it a smart idea to make her a Muslim girl from Qurac, compared to her original form, I don’t know. On the one hand, I can see where the issues regarding her being killed over and over can come off as something horrible. And that her outfit wouldn’t be seen as proper (and compared to M from Marvel this is a pretty fully covered look) compared to say Ms. Marvel’s look. However, on the other side of things, this isn’t Gabrielle anymore and because of that she has to be looked at by a different standard as she has no clue what Gabrielle would and wouldn’t wear. It’s also important to note that their costumes were designed to best suit their powers, and more than likely Fire set Violet up with cloth that would make it easier to use her abilities, much like Geoforce not ripping off all his clothing.

As more and more of Gabrielle’s memories come back, the likelihood is that Violet will have to face a choice to live as Violet or as Gabrielle. There’s also the added issue of the Mother Box and, well, who’s it is and if there is a New God in her or at least, accessing her body.

Keep in mind also that Mother boxes don’t normally create illusions, but New Gods do. Right now there’s some form of confirmation that the Mother box is inside Halo, thus making her what she is. We know that the powers she has seems to mirror that of the Mother boxes, and yet there are a few that don’t.

Halo can fly, while the Mother box can alter gravity it can’t make someone fly. Halo can cast illusions, create beams, Force fields, etc. the Mother box can’t do that –unless that falls under energy manipulation, which it could, but it still leads to the other option that could be happening here.

The Mother box is working in tandem with a New God is one of the other options for this. We’ve heard that the Mother box is inside Halo and keeping her alive. However there is the option for a New God to be using the body as well. New Gods can poessess others, it’s one of the options of their powers, and the one New God that matches a lot of the powers that Violet has right now is Solis, or Light Ray.

Lightray or Solis,  is the best friend of Orion, a powerful New God that can fly, has accelerated healing, Photokinesis or the ability to manipulate light in many ways, including force fields, blasts and casting illusions. The reason I bring him up at all is because of what Bear states in Away Mission. During the episode Bear, says that that the Real Orion is away from New Genesis. Now why could that be?

Originally I thought that this meant that the Mother box could be Orion’s and that they were holding him captive. However, the big thing about this is that you don’t just capture a Mother Box, it’s not easy to get, and the other factor is that Orion’s controls his beast/rage form. Without it he becomes a wild animal. 

Which could explain the monster we see chasing down Halo and the others in her memories.

The other option is that the mother box belonged to Lightray who is being  held prisoner, as with Orion, only he tapped into his connection with his Mother box and is now connected to it allowing Halo to access his powers until help can arrive in the form of Orion.

So we have three options here.

Option 1. Halo’s powers come strictly from the Mother Box and the Mother box has become the person Violet that is now inhabiting the mortal remains of Gabrielle Doe, who was the girl from Qurac that died at the hands of Ecks and the others.

Option 2. Halo’s powers are coming from a mix of the Mother box and Lightray/Solis who is right now incapacitated and is using his mother box inside Halo to keep others from using him for whatever purpose that they will. And that Orion is looking for his best friend, thus why M’comm was able to pretend to be him.

Option 3. Halo’s powers are coming from the Mother box, but the box belongs to a captured Orion. Should Orion be saved this could put a serious issue up in the air for Halo. As the Mother box would belong to Orion this would mean it may have to be removed as it has a connection to Orion and would want to go back with him home, since it helps calm him down. Orion could be a dick about it and want it back as well leading to a fight over Halo and her life, or he could be talked down from it by Bear and the other Forever people, which is also an option here.

Ultimately I feel like a lot of people are viewing Halo in a way that seems to be under the impression that she’s alive. Let me reiterate, she is not. She is not the girl that died, she is a vastly different character, one who’s deaths I think mean something. Each death may be processed by the Mother box for a reason, and probably will be used later in the story. As she understands that pain the box can then probably dish out everything upon someone that is attacking them at some point. That is honestly where I think we are going with this.

I hope this all makes sense.

And is also the ones who knows the truth of the final Aeons. So here, we have an OP magic user instead of a warrior. He learns that they are here on Dafan Shan accompanying their summoner on a pilgrimage to stop the Stygian Demon that has terrorised everyone for years.( I’m so original hur.No.)The great sects have produced summoners for years, dedicated to stopping demonic spirits and go on pilgrimage to save people.Recent years have seen summoners dying before they can stop the Stygian Demon, a mindless fiend that was once a dark summoner’s lost Dark Aeon, which he used to stop Qishan Wen summoners in the Summoners War.-LSZ tells WWX they are waiting for their summoner to receive the Aeon’s blessing.Where they suddenly find a bunch of fiends attacking the village. The 3 of them do their best to fend off the fiends.One of which is WN, the unsent turned wild Aeon, the ghost general. Before a guqin sound echoes and clears the village of evil with a dragon looking Aeon beside him.-Let us welcome the man who always brings his own BGM into the scene.-WWX is surprised to see the face of his ( ex-husband *gets smacked* ) old acquaintance.That LWJ is the summoner who have decided to go meet his death by going to destroy the Stygian Demon.He doesn’t really remember much, but he just wants to go back to Lotus Pier.And that MXY must have brought him back to stop the Stygian Demon.So young thoughtless WWX ( whom LJY suspects and declares he has head trauma, because Lotus Pier is nothing but ruins. ) decides to join them and this older man with LWJ’s face on their pilgrimage.-While collecting Aeons, fending off attacks by people who don’t support the sects, Jinling and his guardian, tiny Fairy, trying to prove themselves.WN appears occasionally to attack the party.A wild purple man, Sect Leader Jiang who just has issues with LWJ and WWX. Sect leader Jiang is suspicious of WWX.- On the way to Qinghe, NHS asks of them if they find the unsent of NMJ to let him know.-In Qishan, they find out from the unsent soul of one angry NMJ that something is wrong with Lanling Jin-Along the way, they head to a ceremonial party by Lanling Jin.They find out that Lanling Jin was the one sending summoners to die, in hopes to control the Stygian Demon.JGY reveal that WWX is actually the soul of the dark summoner from 1000 years ago ( yes LWJ waited that long, fight me ) who made the Stygian Demon Aeon after they dispelled the appearance MXY had given WWX.JGY says they have been suspicious since WWX’s appearance had summoned the Wen fiend WN, at Lanling.They suspect WN wanting to rejoin his old master.-WWX goes into shock, and pieces of memories coming to him that aren’t his own? However, LWJ holds onto him saying he believes WWX regardless.The party flees with the aid of Jin Ling who says, even if he feels a certain hate towards WWX,he feels WWX is not as everyone says he is. WN finds the party and they realise WN was just trying to stop them from coming near Lanling. Jin Ling then joins their party officially.-They flee to Gusu, where LWJ and WWX share a kiss and a moment.LWJ says WWX reminds him of a precious memory that he holds dear ever since he was born.-They know something isn’t right and they will stop JGY from taking the Dark Aeon.Although LXC still refuses to fully believe JGY is sending people to die for his own plans. LXC joins them towards the ruins of Lotus Pier.-Before Lotus Pier, they pass through Yiling, where Yunmeng Jiang had relocated for years, awaiting summoners and ultimately, for the return of WWX the dark High Summoner.-JC has long been plagued by dreams and memories of a lost family and a fallen brother. Now that WWX in his true 15 year old appearance has triggered him and the two clash but not before LWJ steps in to protect WWX.WN appears and clashes with JC, and the unsent Aeon who have regained consciousness reveals to JC that 1000 years ago, he would have died in the Summoners War with Qishan if not for WWX.-A loud rumble tells them that they are running out of time and either JGY gets them first of the Stygian Demon will destroy the world.- Here, WWX sees the Fayth, the dreaming Wen remnants. He remembers.As MXY said, he needs to end this dream. No one can dream forever.- At the ruins of Lotus Pier, LWJ heads in to receive the final Aeon but WWX stops him.He refuses to let LWJ die. There, they find the unsent soul of JYL guarding the place, the Dream Lotus Pier. ( Yes I made JYL Yunalesca ) WWX finally breaks down when he sees JYL who is trapped in the dream he has made, but at the same time this is just a memory of JYL corrupted by years of unsent summoners.-After defeating JYL’s memory…WWX regains his true Yiling Patriarch form.While they needed to find another way to defeat the Dark Aeon the party gets captured by Lanling Jin who takes them up and into the Stygian Demon’s core.-LSZ,LJY, JL,JC holds off the army while LXC defeats his corrupted sworn brother with the unsent of NMJ who has become an Aeon.They are afterall in the core where unsent souls gather.-WWX and LWJ heads in deeper into the dream where with the aid of the unsent and Aeons, they defeat the Stygian Demon and disperses the Fayth.-With the Fayth gone, the dream ends and as an unsent himself, WWX gets ready to send himself along with souls.He gets stopped by LWJ who refuses to let him go. -Turns out 1000 years ago, WWX made the Fayth,the dream,in his grief and despair that ended up consumed and guarded by the Stygian Demon. Along with that, the memories of those who know him will remain and always be attached to the souls that remain each time they are reborn. As long as they dream and remember, WWX and his dream will exist.Now that the cycle has stopped, once they die, WWX’s memory too will fade forever.-LWJ as stubborn and tells WWX he refuses to forget and to let his beloved disappear again.He couldn’t protect him 1000 years ago when the Sects wanted him dead when he lost control of his power and Aeons.He started this pilgrimage (and to die) not just to save the commonfolk but because he want to find him.-WWX tells LWJ rather than to die, to live for him instead.He reaches up and kisses High Summoner Hanguang Jun for the last time and fades into a million pyreflies. Someday they will meet again in a dream.-LWJ keeps his promise and quietly sings their song each night, with every sending he does.Wishing.Hoping.Waiting.-13 years later, someone sings in reply.IM TIRED OF TYPING. What I think happened to Wally?(or 'What I wish for, but it will not happen.')

I want for Wally West from YJ and Wally West from JL/JLU(cartoon) to be the same person.

WARNING: This will be rather long and I don't know how to add 'keep reading' on the app...SOMEBODY HELP! Also ignore the fact JL came before YJ.

First, why I want that?

Wally would be still alive and an even better(and he would be faster) hero than before + at least that's how I undertood it, the new season of YJ is about dimension travel, so they can get trapped in the JLU dimension and have a reunion.

Second, what I think happened?

The tornado(or whatever it was they needed to stop) could have been created with techology the Light stole from another dimension, which so happened to be the JL/JLU dimension. When Wally 'ceased to exist' in Endgame, what Scarab really felt was Wally's power getting draind and transported(to a different time in the JL dimension). However, while they where trasporting Wally's DNA changed to match the weird tornado and he got deaged(so he was about 10 to 12 years old). When he got to the JL world his whole body hurt, he was confused and his memories where messed up. He used the last bit of his energy to run to where Barry's house was in their dimensiom to ask for help. But it wasn't Barry who opened. When the person asked Wally who he was, against his better judgment Wally answered with his 'real' name 'Wally West' and then he lost conciousness. The person called the police and ambulance because there was a freaking 12 year old in yellow spandex laying on his porch. Before the ambulance arived Wally's body changed. His new powers (making stuff explode when vibrating and other stuff that he could do in JL/JLU) were too strong for his body and mind. They were slowly killing him. So to save him the powers deactivated themself. That affected Wally's brain. His memories were erased, leaving only a few fragments of memories of his past life, like his adoration for his uncle, the forensic and hero(reason why he became both of it as well), however they weren't enough for Wally to find out who he really was. When he woke up from his coma, nobody could identify him, so he was send to an orphanage in Central City. There was an investigation but it was dropped quickly since Wally had no memories and there were zero clues. Wally ended up living a relative normal life, finishing high school and university and getting a job as a forensic in Central. Then he got hit by lightning(as shown in JL s1 ep12) and his powers got activated again, but he still didn't have his memories until 'Divided we fall' where when he disappeard he actually almost went back home. He got all of his memories back and saw how his world turned out in the years he wasn't there. And even tough he wanted to go back, the moment Shareya and rest called out him, he realized his world doesn't need him, it already had 2 speedsters. So with a broken heart he decided to stay in the JL/JLU dimension. For now.

And finally, why I think it would hold up?(from nit-picky to a little more believable.)

Kid Flash suit and Jay Garrick's helmet were shown in the Flash museum even tough there was never a Kid Flash or another Flash. Wally might have recreated those items to remember where he came from and the people there. Something like souvenir.

The fact that JL Wally doesn't seem to have a family. He does mention 'grammy Flash' and his uncle and mom. But we never see them. Not even when he said that they are coming to see him on Flash day, not even for a second, we even didn't see somebody who could resamble him. And he really wanted that atleast Batman comes Central to see him. Plus, it seems that he spends a lot of his time at an orphanage. Even in the Christmas episodes he, was at the orphanage or trying to get them a present. He didn't call anyone nor gave anybody else a present.

His flirting decreased after Divided we fall.(This can also be charater development) In previous episodes, even in the one ep he was in Superman: TAS he was flirting(even with Louis Lane) without shame. However after 'Divided' he was nervous to talk to Fire and he almost completly ignored Linda, and both of them were clearly flirting and interested in him. This can be because he remembered Artemis and he feels like he is cheating on her or he didn't get over her.

His job. In the comics, Wally has never shown interest in chemistry or science. But in JL he is a forensic and in YJ he recreated the experiment wich gave Barry his powers. In his garage. From Barry's notes he saw for a few minutes. Both YJ and JL Wally are good at chemistry, wich is weird because besides them there is not a single version of Wally interested nor a version who cares about science.

What he said in 'Divided we fall'.

"Shayera, it's so beautiful here. There is a force, a Speedforce. It's calling me home. I have to go now."

And

"I can never go that fast again. If I do, I don't think I'm coming back."

He said it like he was tired, or he can also be sad. Besides that, this doesn't really make sense in context of the show or any other media. What can be so beautiful in the Speedforce? What home is Wally talking about? And the fact that he said 'I don't think I'm coming back' instead of 'I don't think I will be able to come back.' It seems like it is Wally's decision to stay there.

I'm confused. So are the events of Dark Metal happening at the same time as Bruce and Selina being newly engaged? Or are the events of Dark Metal happening right after the engagement? I mean, the engagement is happening now in real time, right? Or is this the immediate past we are seeing? Who's timeline is correct, King's or Synder's? It would be King's right? Since it's the main book. King said the news will hit the rest of the JL but right now in Metal, Batman is trapped in the dark multiverse

Timelines within the comic worlds are very difficult interpret, let alone connect to each other. What happens in one title, may not be related to another. Take Batman and Detective Comics - there can be direct connections, indirect connections and then completely self-contained stories with no connection whatsoever.

Regarding Dark Metal, it is not explicitly set in Rebirth (at first glance at least), but they will be connected. In fact, it appears that the Dark Metal saga will affect every universe in DC, even the New 52. The whole DC multiverse (and dark multiverse as it has been revealed) is potentially up in the air and it will be interesting to see what ultimately happens. 

Now when it comes to what timeline (or canon if you will) is currently correct, I would say it is Tom King’s current iteration. That being said, anything that is canon now can suddenly change. All is good until DC decides to go in another direction - not that DC would ever do that...(thoughts of Final Crisis, Convergence and New 52 flash through my head)...right, they totally would.

Doctor Who: The Next Doctor (Christmas Special, 2008)

  The Doctor who wasn’t really the Doctor.

The TARDIS materializes under an archway in a snowstorm. The Doctor strides out with a smile on his face, happy to be in London for Christmas in 1851. His joy is interrupted by someone screaming “Doctor!”, and he finds a growling creature behind a door wearing a copper Cyberman mask, a frantic woman, and a man claiming to be the Doctor.

This other Doctor, armed with his own “sonic” screwdriver, tries to lasso the primitive assimilation as it runs up a wall. The Tenth Doctor grabs on and the pair finds themselves dragged along until companion Rosita cuts the rope with a hatchet. The Doctors laugh about their adventure while Rosita chides them. While she goes to check the traps, the Doctor rambles along, mistakenly believing that the other Doctor is a future regeneration. He soon figures out that the other Doctor has memory loss, something that happened just before the Cybermen arrived.

The Tenth Doctor adopts the John Smith alias as the other Doctor rushes off to a funeral.

The Cybermen, led by a new Cyber Leader and a human ally named Mercy Hartigan, review the Cybershade’s surveillance footage while they prepare for the rise of the Cyber King. These Cybermen are the Pete’s World variety, somehow left behind when the worlds merged.

The other Doctor and Rosita observe the funeral procession of Reverend Aubrey Fairchild before springing into action. Rosita heads to the “TARDIS” while the other Doctor investigates the house of the deceased. He’s joined by Mr. Smith, and he explains that the Cybermen presence is linked to a number of murders and child abductions across the city. The rash of crimes started with the death of a man named Jackson Lake and have led to the reverend’s demise by some advanced form of electrocution.

The pair find a pair of infostamps, one of which contains the history of London from 1066 to 1851. The other Doctor has a flashback to his “regeneration” and memory of another infostamp. They also uncover a Cyberman home invasion and have to run. While they flee, John Smith reveals himself as the real Doctor and the other Doctor bypasses the safeties on the infostamp to overload the pursuing Cybermen.

The other Doctor is troubled by the happenings. The Doctor promises to help him.

At the reverend’s graveside service, Miss Hartigan crashes the proceedings with an admission: The reverend had to die in order to get the mourners in one place. She dispatches the Cybermen to attack them, sparing only a few as the rest are deleted.

The Doctors return to Rosita’s side at their home base. Jackson Lake’s belongings are stacked by the wall, kept as evidence of his disappearance, and the Tenth Doctor finds another infostamp in the luggage. The other Doctor shows off his TARDIS – a gas balloon, fueled by the local gasworks for a substantial fee, long-form called Tethered Aerial Release Developed In Style – and dreams of flying it one day.

The Doctor now knows that this man is not him. He shares the story of the Battle of Canary Wharf, presuming that some of the survivors fell through time and landed in London, 1851. He draws the parallels between Jackson Lake and the man’s memories, even showing him the JL inscription on his fob watch. The man, truly Jackson Lake, was flashed with an infostamp that contained all of the Cybermen’s information the Doctor, thus side-booting his brain with an alternate identity.

There’s still one missing piece that Jackson can’t remember, but the Doctor helps him remember based on the amount of luggage on hand: Jackson remembers how the Cybermen invaded his home and killed his wife Caroline. His fugue state ends as he breaks down in tears.

While Jackson Lake mourns and is consoled by Rosita, the infostamps start to chime. The Doctor finds a whole cache of them and realizes that the Cybermen are on the move. The Doctor rushes out, and Jackson sends Rosita after him.

Miss Hartigan fits her survivors with Cyberman EarPods and uses them to fulfill tasks for her. The Doctor and Rosita find the survivors marching children from their workhouses and orphanages to the River Thames. The procession is guarded by Cybershades and Cybermen, and it ends at the court of the Cyber King.

The Doctor and Rosita are ambushed by Miss Hartigan and the Cybermen. The Cybermen don’t recognize the Doctor because of the corrupted data on the infostamp, but they repair it. The Cybermen march on the Doctor and Rosita, but are stopped by Jackson Lake and his cache of infostamps. The trio run (after Rosita sucker punches Miss Hartigan!) and Jackson reveals that his cellar may be a gateway into their operations.

Miss Hartigan, in it for her own social liberation from this patriarchal society, takes control of the child workforce after killing the EarPod-clad men. Meanwhile, the Doctor’s trio finds a Dimension Vault in Jackson’s cellar. The Cybermen used the Dalek technology to travel through time and escape the Void. They follow the tunnels to the enemy base as the Cybermen attempt to convert Miss Hartigan and provide her liberation (from her anger and rage) as their Cyber King.

Unfortunately for them, she’s too strongwilled for conversion. Her mind is too powerful to control, and she uses her new powers to obliterate the Cyber Leader when it tries to intervene.

The conversion has also moved up the CyberKing’s timetable. Since they’re no longer needed, the Cybermen try to delete the children, but the Doctor and Rosita free them instead. While the children run, Jackson remembers that the Cybermen had also abducted his son, and he finds the boy among the workforce. Unfortunately, Frederic is trapped on a ledge, so the Doctor swashbuckles his way up and rescues him.

As the base ignites around them, the Doctor, Jackson, and Frederic run. Outside, a giant mechanical CyberKing rises from the Thames with Miss Hartigan on the throne, ready to convert millions into Cybermen as it rampages through London. Jackson, Frederic, and Rosita rush to safety.

The Doctor grabs the Dimension Vault and uses the “TARDIS” balloon to look the CyberKing in the eye. He offers Miss Hartigan one last chance at mercy, extending the opportunity for the Cybermen to travel using the Dimension Vault to a place where they can live in peace. She rejects him, so he uses the cache of infostamps against her. The assault breaks the cyber connection and leaves her mind open to see what she’s become. The shock and terror of her reasserted humanity destroys all of the Cybermen, leaving the giant automaton to stumble about until the Doctor uses the Dimension Vault to transport it into the time vortex where it will be disintegrated.

Jackson Lake addresses the onlookers and rallies them to cheer for the Doctor as he drifts above the city. Later on, they discuss the Lake family’s future, including Rosita as Frederic’s new nursemaid. The Doctor offers Jackson a look inside the real TARDIS. Jackson is amazed by the sight, but Jackson has had quite enough adventure. He asks the Doctor about his companions, to which the Doctor turns maudlin.

Jackson offers the Doctor a Christmas dinner in honor of all those that they’ve lost. The Doctor accepts.

  I’m of two minds about this story. The Jackson Lake mystery is simultaneously amusing and tragic, adding a compelling throughline to the Cyberman invasion plot. The flip side is that the climax of the Cyberman story – the Pacific Rim-style CyberKing – is utterly ridiculous.

It’s a shame, really, because this story balloon really flies along until the cyber-mech lets the air right out.

There are some good but minor things that help tie things off:

The sequence with the boy at the beginning is a direct reference to A Christmas Carol;

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen makes yet another appearance as a fairly generic Christmas song, continuing from The Dæmons, The Curse of Peladon, The Unquiet Dead, The Christmas Invasion, and The Runaway Bride;

There are direct ties to the previous nine incarnations of the Doctor, once again breaking any claims that “nu-Who” doesn’t connect to the classic era;

The scene where the Cybermen “identify” the Doctor is an homage to Earthshock;

The Cybermen in the snow reflects The Tenth Planet;

Li H’sen Chang’s show poster appears as an easter egg in the background.

The infostamp memory files of the Doctor’s lives come from The Time Meddler, The Ice Warriors, Terror of the Autons, City of Death, Arc of Infinity, The Mysterious Planet, Time and the Rani, Doctor Who (The Movie), The Parting of the Ways, and The Family of Blood, none of which are actuallyCyberman stories. The War Doctor does not appear in the library files, which makes sense from a production standpoint, but doesn’t quite jive from an internal chronological standpoint.

Finally, I also love the character development as the Tenth Doctor considers that his time may be coming to an end. He’s excited to think that he won’t be the last of his regenerations, and his joy is infectious.

I just wish that the cyber jaeger hadn’t been a thing.

Highly Dubious

Zack Snyder has stepped down from helming the DCEU. His wife has pulled out as a producer. There are rumors that Justice League was shot, and screened to DC execs who hated it. It was reshot and screened again and the Execs STILL hated it. Now, we’re going through a new round of re-shoots with Joss Whedon writing and directing them. As I understand it, he’s usurped Snyder as the main architect of the DCEU. Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman is getting outstanding reviews, particularly about the tone and chemistry between it’s leads.  James Wan has solicited positive buzz about his take on the Aquaman mythos by tossing everything Snyder brought to the franchise through JL. Cats are outright ignoring the tone and trajectory set by Snyder and the benefits are rolling in. The reception of Mera shots from JL and Aquaman are very telling. Cats  were on the fence about her style in JL but are absolutely in love with her Aquaman guise. More to the point, there are rumors that Snyder’s inability to create a coherent film and the constant executive meddling from the Warner Bros. staff is what soured Affleck on The Batman. As I understand it, the WB brass love Snyder because he’s a sycophant who kowtows to their whims, which is why we got BvS instead of MOS 2. Now, I’m not going to belittle the man. He’s suffered a tragedy no one should have to endure. His leaving to take care of his family is the right thing to do. I give him full marks for that. I feel like, though, the timing of said exit is a little too serendipitous. I think his leaving, now, is because there was pressure to get him out, particularly with Whedon to pick up the pieces. With Snyder stepping down the way he’s stepping down, cats wouldn’t question the decision and just accept it, that way everyone saves face. Snyder gets to walk and keep his development deal. WB can point to the tragedy as a means to stay the constant rumors that JL sucks. Whedon gets the green light to inject his vision into another comic book franchise a la The Avengers. Everyone wins.

I get that this sounds crass and can be considered disrespectful to their loss but I think there is a bit of meat there. Also, I’m a sociopath so I don’t even really care either way. But let’s look at this thing objectively. Snyder’s kid committed suicide in March. He took two weeks off. Two. And immediately came back to work. I figure if your child kills themselves, you take at least a month of two. This is your kid. The living embodiment of the love you have for your wife and she doesn’t exist anymore but you’re okay to return to work after two f*cking weeks? Really? My dog died when I was 9 and I still have a hard time with that occasionally. Snyder had no business coming back to this franchise. And that’s when the rumors of he re-reshoots started popping up. After the diminishing returns on MoS, BvS and Suicide Squad, I think the Warner Brass had their fill of the Snyderverse and decided to change direction. They couldn’t just dump him though. His kid just died. They had stood behind his vision even as the movies under performed and were ravaged by critics. They had backed this lame horse for four years. The only way to right the ship was to get fresh blood in here and WB were kind of trapped with their poor decisions. But if Snyder steps down of his own accord, they are golden. You can move Whedon in who built phase one and two of the MCU. Give him his own film, Batgirl, just to bring him into the DCEU family. Get him to write some of the re-shoots for the addled Justice League film. Make sure Snyder understands his deal is intact IF he walks or it gets pulled I he stays. Now you have positioned yourself to build a much better, much more accessible universe, under a person in Whedon, who gets the characters, the fanbase, and the world building.

It’s a tragedy what the Snyders are going through, I freely admit that but it’s hard to imagine the DCEU being worse off without him. Snyder should have pulled out when his kid died in March and stayed away. He should have mourned her loss and came back for JL2 if he wanted to come back at all. I think this parting of ways is best for everyone concerned, however dubious it may appear.
