Zatanna and Elongated Man
Just Ralph being a mentor/friend/emergency landing pad to Zee throughout the years.
Some of these are from stories I have posted about before but as a rule, I don’t make a post unless there is something new from a story that I haven’t posted yet.
JLA  Vol 1 #162:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JLA  Vol 1#199 where they both have time travel induced amnesia:
Tumblr media
JLA Vol 1 #206: Only time Ralph was ever flirty with her.
Tumblr media
JLA Vol 1 #217 : Elongated Man being the aforementioned emergency cushion:
Tumblr media
JLA Vol 1 #219  :  Friends who get electrocuted together, stay together:
Tumblr media
JLA Vol 1 #227: Encouraging her to get her shit together. This one of those JLA stories where Zatanna was the only one who could save the day:
Tumblr media
JLA Vol 1 #230: Whoever designed their space outfits really dropped the ball here:
Tumblr media
JLA Vol 1 #235:
Tumblr media
JLA Vol 1 # 236:  Another example of Ralph being a glorified landing pad but this time it was planned (also, a great example of Zee using her elemental powers):
Tumblr media
Ralph and Sue were also mentioned in Zatanna’s ongoing.
First in Zatanna #5:
Tumblr media
Yes, they’re referring to Identity Crisis but we don’t talk about Identity Crisis here.
Then in a dream sequence in #6:
Tumblr media
Don’t worry, it’s comics, Ralph and Sue were ghost detectives during this time.
Never confirmed if Zatanna knew about that but then the Nu52 wiped everything away, I have no idea what their status is now though:
Tumblr media
As ghost detectives they are really more in Zatanna’s world now than in the normal 4 colour superhero world of the DCU.
Hopefully, one day we get a reunion.
And if you’ve scrolled this far and keep up with my posts, sknaht rof gnidaer!

Hello, welcome to Incorrect Fab Fifteen, a blog about all things Silver Age Teen Titans! I've come up with the term Fab Fifteen to broadly refer to all of the members (which I'll explain below) as well as a natural expansion of the Fab Five (plus, it's better than just calling them the OG Teen Titans or the 70s Team).

So a special note: despite Beast Boy being a part of the Titans West (as well as appearing in the above photograph), they do not count as part of the Fab Fifteen, mainly because he's already part of the New Teen Titans. Also note that this acc won't be using the New 52 version of Duela Dent (although the Gotham Knights version is fine so feel free to send in any hcs about her)
Also you maybe be asking why Gnarrk's entry is below instead of with everybody else. That's because Gnarrk was never a Titan in the first place. Sure, he appeared as part of the title and was there when the Titans West was formed but he never actually joined the team at all. Gnarrk becoming a Titan became a thing when he was introduced following the New 52.
Gnarrk

Neal Adams' cover for Justice League of America (vol. 1) #67 (December, 1968).
This was an 80-Page Giant, and reprinted the three stories that added Green Arrow, Hawkman, and the Atom as members of the team.
This was also the last issue that featured Mike Sekowsky's pencils (even though they were in reprinted stories). Sekowsky had been the JLA's penciller since the team's first appearance in The Brave and the Bold (vol. 1) #28 (March, 1960).
Longtime comic artist Dick Dillin premiered as the JLA's artist in issue #68. Dillin would continue his run for twelve years, until his sudden death in 1980. His last issue was #183 (October, 1980), the first of a three issue crossover between the Justice League, The Justice Society and the New Gods.

hello!! Do you have any Garth comic recommendations for someone (me) who has never read a Garth comic outside of a handful of TT issues before?
Tumblr media
Hi!! I definitely have some recommendations! This definitely isn't a comprehensive reading list by ANY means (although I do want to make one eventually!), but rather a small smattering of Garth centric comics that I think are fun or noteworthy! (These are also not in any particular order, just written out as they come into my brain lol)
Tempest (1996) - Obviously the Garth holy grail! There is no better Garth comic than this. It is peak and honestly one of the best books DC has ever put out. It's short, too (only 4 issues), so it's not too intensive of a read.
Tumblr media
Adventure Comics #269 - "The Kid from Atlantis" - Garth's first appearance! Don't get too hung up on the lore here, as it changes later on, but it's a sweet issue and obviously important!
Tumblr media
Adventure Comics #270 - "The Menace of Aqualad" - I love this issue for a multitude of reasons-- including the fully unintentional foreshadowing,-- but mainly I love it because it showcases what a sweet person Garth is and always has been.
Tumblr media
World's Finest Comics #133 - "Aquaman's New Partner -- Aqua-girl" - Again, the lore needs to be disregarded, but this issue fascinates me as an early iteration of Garth's insecurity about where he stands with Arthur/feeling useful.
Tumblr media
I probably shouldn't list everything individually so this post doesn't end up being a mile long, haha! So I'll start putting some groupings together:
Aquaman vol 1 #14, 18, 23, and #33
The Brave and the Bold #54
Teen Titans vol 1 #11 (not particularly Garth centric but just especially fun to me lol), #17, #19, #28, #29, #44-end of series. (Side note that @ttwasteland has a really good podcast covering volume 1 of Teen Titans! Actually, they have a lot of Teen Titans podcasts! Which is really useful for those who struggle to read Silver Age comics + I am immensely pleased with Hub's Aqualad enthusiasm!)
The Brave and the Bold (vol 3) #10
Death of a Prince (Technically, I recommend reading all of it, since it'll help you understand how things got to this point. But especially Adventure Comics #452 and the Aqualad stories in #453-455.)
Tales of the Teen Titans #85 & #86 + Teen Titans Spotlight #10
Teen Titans Spotlight #18
Teen Titans Spotlight #21
Aquaman vol 5 (Yes, all of it lol)
Showcase '96 #1
Teen Titans (Vol 3) #12-16
JLA/Titans
Titans (vol 1) At least the Devin Grayson portion, but I don't dislike the later stuff either!
There are also storylines that I think are fun or important that happen in across various books/stories (Obsidian Age, Aquaman vol 6, other (Teen) Titans stories, Blackest Night, CoIE, dare I even say Sword of Atlantis...), but I'll save those for a more in-depth reading list some other time! These ones are just popping up in my head rn.
If you want N52/Rebirth stuff, there are also a few stories that are pretty good. Sadly, they're pretty few and far between since canon changes and DC tossing their character bibles have left poor Garth in an odd, largely OoC limbo for years. Although I don't /love/ these stories as much as others, they still manage to vaguely pass the vibe check:
Nightwing & the Titans in Team Building (Robin 80th Anniversary 100 Page Super Spectacular) It's not super Garth centric, but it's fun!
Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 - “It’s a Family Affair”
Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 - “Lady in the Lake”
World's Finest: Teen Titans & DC's Spring Breakout "Relay for your Life" Garth's characterization in these... isn't right, but I feel like it has the spirit more than the vast majority of things published in recent years.
Titans (2023-) I... don't totally feel right putting this here, but I feel like slowly... extremely slowly... they are starting to fix Garth's characterization. We're not quite there yet-- and it is sadly written by Tom Taylor,-- but I feel like it's going to lead to something that's actually good for Garth again. (Aka so many hints towards a potential new Tempest mini-series or one-shot have been dropped lately, and I feel like this series will be context important.)
Ok, to try to finish this out: Also consider watching some stuff with Garth in it like Aquaman (1967) TV show / DC Super Hero Girls (2019), or reading some cute, non-canon series such as Tiny Titans! It's just good fun!!
Anyways, thank you so much for the ask!! I hope this helps!!! (And thank you for allowing me a chance to ramble lol!)

Hi! I’m doing a dick grayson read and have hit a bit of a block on what I should read next. I was wondering if you had suggestions?
So far I’ve read New Teen Titans Vol 1, tales of the teen titans, New Teen Titans Vol 2, and am working my way through the New Titans.
Would you recommend reading a few Team Titans issues? Going right to Nightwing (1996)? reading The Titans (1999)?
-a very lost person
damn that sign off just gave me intense teen vogue flashbacks 🤣 I gotta respond the same way
Dear very lost person,
Hi!! You've covered a lot of the teen titans comics which is actually pretty impressive because people tend to skip but they're really important. If you're focused specifically on Nightwing, I would recommend reading Team Titans Issues #1 - 6 and then Issue #10. I'm very biased towards Nightwing (1996) so I would highly recommend that next but that's not the only reason. Although Nightwing (1996) is a masterpiece and probably my all time favorite reading, I'd go into first before the others because the Titans (1999) is a read as sort of subsidiary to Nightwing (1996). In the Titans (1999) comics, Dick has already established himself in Bludhaven and the reason why he's on the Titans team now is because Wally's like "Dude. You need a break. You need your friends asap." That comic is more of Dick's secondary role because it prioritizes Dick's work in Nightwing 1996) and the Nightwing comic is a standalone.
so order:
Team Titans
Nightwing (1996)
Titans (1999)
JLA/Titans
Outsiders (2003)
Titans (2003)
Teen Titans and Outsiders
Titans (2008)
Nightwing (2016)
Titans (2016)
Titans United, Titans: Titans Together, Titans Bloodpact, Teen Titans: Year One, Teen Titans Lost Annual, Titans Academy, Future State: Teen Titans, and etc are all standalones so it doesn't matter when you read them.
Although if you haven't read Teen Titans (1966) I would HIGHLY recommend reading that first. This is the stories of the OG Titans and I recommend reading that because these stories are referenced in other titans comics such as Titans (1999) and Teen Titans Lost Annual as plotlines.
-A very excited cl

Tim drake and bruce wayen this tim drake and damian wayne that but hear me out tim drake and thomas wayne jr.
!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍 i genuinely don't get a chance to bring up this panel enough times!!!!! (jla vol 1 #108)
Tumblr media
because what does this meaannnn thomas??? why would he view getting to own all of jack drake's things (including his son who we know is tim) as a good thing. killing a kid's dad usually will mean resentment and knowing tim he'd know his dad in this universe is crooked and working for the worst of the worst and he'd know somehow owlman would be responsible. the idea that tim would be deeply loyal also doesn't make sense because we can see in this universe that loyalty is a pretty cheap thing and that no one is loyal as we can see here in the same issue where jack tries appealing to lucius fox of this world by bringing up that their kids used to be friends.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
i'm delusional and knowing that tim's dad was a drug dealing pimp makes me think he absolutely has tim perfectly trained and thomas wayne (control issues to the MAX) would absolutely want to own that. a toy that he doesn't have to break in and belongs to him? of course that has appeal!! plus there's ultraman's reaction to hearing thomas be excited if not satisfied with himself at acquiring the underage child of his now dead pimp goon and it's "sometimes you disgust even me".
because ultraman is no stranger to killing, orphaning children, or enslaving others. but he gets the ick from this? 🤔🤔🤔
it can't just be that he's grossed out at owlman being excited at acquiring a new little soldier to be his eyes and ears when he's not around. it's constantly brought up how sexually frustrated he is over his eternal battle with the police commissioner (thomas sr) and the fact that he can't have and freely fuck superwoman. what better way to flip off his father and work off that sexual frustration than acquiring tim to...ease the burden.

just read all of NTT and came out of it a huge donna fan but i have no idea what else to read for her. perez' wonder woman? titans 99? kyle rayner shit? give me donna recs please
omg hi!! you have come to the right place<3 congrats on finishing all of ntt by the way that’s such an accomplishment. the short answer is…pretty much all the things you said lmfao. there are lots of reading guides out there- I know I have a few in my donna tag, the ones I used were made by @/senorscotty- that will be comprehensive lists of her appearances but I’d be happy to give you a roadmap. My own personal recs for must-reads would be Titans 99 and the return of donna troy miniseries.
If you want to follow her story on from ntt chronologically the next thing to read would be darkstars (for donna specifically starting at #21), but feel free to skim some of it because that series is… not the most engaging lmfao. around this time there was also some back and forth with green lantern as she and kyle start their relationship so you can read those side by side if you want. she specifically appears in green lantern (1990) #58-59, 61-62, 68-69, 70, and 73-75. after the darkstars disband really the only place donna was hanging out was gl, just as a civilian- this is from issues 78, 81, and 88-90. A lot of these are just small cameo appearances but are necessary if you’re interested in keeping up with her and kyle’s relationship. those last few issues are very important for her though.
The next important donna rec would be Wonder Woman vol 2, specifically issues 123-136. This arc reinstates her as a superhero & aligns her with the amazons again, so going on from there she appears pretty often in the rest of that WW run! I would definitely recommend it for Donna, and it’s pretty easy to go to places like dcu guide if you want to know specifically where she appears.
JLA/Titans #1-3 comes next, and then Titans 99 after that! I’d recommend reading the whole thing, it’s only 50 issues and it’s a good time. Directly after titans comes the titans/young justice graduation day special, and obv her next appearance after that is the return of donna troy mini.
That’s about the buffer for my donna knowledge unfortunately! I am definitely not up to date on her post-2005 appearances but like I said there are lots of guides that should have that info for you. I hope this was at least a little bit helpful lol!
