Quick S5 Analysis and Theory

I AM GOING TO RAMBLE ANALYSIS BECAUSE THEY ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY

I cannot stop thinking about the way Wukong reacts to Macaque when he goes "oh no 'gee thanks for saving me macaque!...'" cause if this were before the S5E2, he would have snapped back at him, like he always does.

We know Macaque does this solely to rile Wukong up. It's how we're introduced to his character in S1E9 and he does it throughout the series. This is why he did it here too (or at least partially), BUT WUKONG DOESN'T TAKE THE BAIT THIS TIME.

While he's obviously still reeling from seeing the memory of their fight he was forced to watch,

you can still see that, for a split second, Wukong almost does snap back, but he instantly rethinks that and decides to be passive

Macaque, again, pokes at him trying to get a reaction, but this time Wukong doesn't even think about snapping back. He simply responds casually/lightly (before then realizing that MK is in danger)

This tells us possibly two really important things

Macaque sacrificing himself in S5E2 was a turning point for Wukong's perception of him. An increase in personal trust/faith/etc.

2. Seeing the memory of their fight made him rethink his behavior toward Macaque

For the rest of the season, they don't get a lot of moments because of, well, Everything, but we see Wukong is not only more willing to show concern for his wellbeing, but also seems to be more open/emotionally vulnerable in front of him than before (in little moments, anyway).

Granted that has been building up since S4E11, arguably before that but I'm not going to deep dive analyze season 3. He's being more communicative with Macaque in S5E1 about MK too. In other words, not completely shutting him out or pushing him away, which seems like their natural progression from S4E11 as well.

All of that being said, this brings me to The Scene. Which I am completely normal about because there's so much to unpack about it and I am so normal about that. Evidently.

First of all, they wanted to hold hands during their final moments. MK and Macaque are the two most important people in Wukong's life, I feel like that speaks for itself.

BUT it's Wukong who reaches out here.

This is Wukong's first major attempt to bridge the gap between them, at least in such a direct way. In my opinion, it's almost a wordless forgiveness on top of acknowledging how Macaque has changed and improved himself, as well as his reciprocation of that behavior. He wants to fix their relationship too, just as he has seen Macaque willing to do the same.

This moment being interrupted was actually a good thing. It's a good visual reminder that, despite them both wanting to reconcile, they aren't Quite there yet. There's still a lot left unsaid between these two, most importantly Macaque's death. (I'LL GET TO THAT. HOLD THAT IN YOUR BRAIN)

For macaque, this moment has another important meaning.

AND NOW I GET TO TALK ABOUT ONE OF MY FAVORITE WRITING TOOLS HELLO PARALLELS!!!!

In S2E7 we are introduced to this shot of Wukong on a pedestal over Macaque, turning his back on him and abandoning him. This is firmly established in that episode as one of the main reasons Macaque resents Wukong.

He is also portrayed as above him, subsequently nodding at Macaque feeling inferior to him.

In S4E11, we actually watch how this dynamic destroys their friendship. It is a MAJOR reason for their falling out. Macaque feels neglected, overlooked, ignored. Promises are broken and trust is lost. To him, Wukong is selfish, self-righteous, egotistical, uncaring, etc.

Obviously we as the audience are aware Macaque has a rather skewed perception of Wukong that seems to be influenced by his projection of his own insecurities, but that is a whole other analysis for a different time.

In S5E10, this shot is paralleled. Visually demonstrating that Wukong isn't forgetting about him this time. He looks for him. Macaque is being considered in a way he had previously believed was lacking in their friendship.

Not only that, but they are on level ground. Balanced and equal.

Macaque is reluctant to reach back out. His trust in Wukong is practically non-existent, has been for a while (understandably), so it's a little hard for him, but he reciprocates because, like Wukong, he's acknowledging that he has changed. He wants to try to fix this too.

TO RECAP!

They know they both want to fix things

They can see and have acknowledged changes in their behavior on both sides

Wukong seems to be less prone to arguing back, which will most likely make Macaque less likely to try and provoke him. All in all, they will be more civil with each other and most likely argue much less.

They are being held back by things left unsaid.

WHICH LEADS ME TOO...

WHERE DOES THIS LEAD THEM IN S6?

The obvious is they need to address Macaque's death. If they don't do it in this season it's bad writing and they are dragging it out for too long. It's the obvious natural progression here.

This is where they will have an actual, long overdue constructive conversation. It is literally singlehandedly the only thing preventing them from reconciling at this point.

Now, the problem, is how this would happen. Because we all know neither of them are going to randomly apologize out of nowhere. It's gonna take something to push them into that direction. And that should be how it happens otherwise it'd most likely feel forced in the script.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO A THEORY. A GAME THEO-

I'm not going to get into the nitty-gritty details of this particular theory, but just know that I am a firm believer in the "Macaque was consumed by his own powers and that's what killed him" theory. I do think Wukong played a substantial role in his death, enough for Macaque to reasonably believe Wukong killed him, but ultimately it was less Wukong directly killing him and more indirectly causing it and not saving him.

That being said, Wukong and Macaque's relationship is a major subplot in this show with a considerable amount of focus. They have been slowly building to their inevitable mending relationship since Macaque's first episode, which means that they're going to want to reach that climax in a pivotal emotional moment. Not a random conversation smacked into an episode.

And what is going to be plot-relevant next season??

MACAQUE'S CHAOS POWERS.

S5 built up to Macaque being an established member of the group

(Also the VO here being "change can be terrifying" is absolutely foreshadowing to some degree)

Now, there's also something else I need to address. Macaque has gone out of his way 3 separate times, 4 if you count the LBD fight, to save Wukong. On the other hand, Wukong obviously cares about Macaque, but ultimately hasn't had many opportunities or reasons to try to save him specifically.

With all of those details in mind, I think Wukong will need to take direct action by either saving him/protecting him/etc. because I think it would be a high-stakes moment that inevitably kickstarts an apology/conversation between them. Maybe it's something that reminds Wukong of their fight or that macaque can die (hence the chaos powers potentially harming Macaque in some manner or maybe a potential difficulty controlling them reminds Wukong of their fight, something along these lines).

Why this route?

Macaque has regained Wukong's trust. He basically says as much in S5E2. And while it's fairly obvious with Macaque's behavior and choices that he has learned from his past mistakes and is working on his faults, he definitely needs to acknowledge his wrongdoings. However, I think that would naturally happen during any conversation they may have (or the aftermath) regarding his death and their feelings.

That leaves Wukong because he made a promise to Macaque that they’d spend eternity together and that he would protect him and their home. A promise he broke multiple times and has not made up for yet. He needs to mend that and make it right to solidly regain Macaque's trust in order to reconcile.

It wasn’t often that you went against Wanda’s rules.

You very well knew the consequences of doing so, and truthfully you’d gotten so used to her loving guidance and control of things that you wouldn’t dare go back. That control extended to how and when you touched yourself, which happened to be the very rule you’re breaking now.

You were watching a movie on Netflix that wasn’t in English, but you weren’t paying much attention to the subtitles anyway when the two women appeared on screen, hands all over each other. It reminded you of many passion filled nights with your love, and it was that reminder that caused your mind (and hands) to wander.

“What do you think you’re doing?”

The voice comes from behind the couch where you currently have your fingers tucked in your underwear beneath a blanket. Without giving you a chance to answer, the blanket is lifted and your hand is ripped away from your body entirely with your wrist in Wanda’s unrelenting grip.

“I left you alone for an hour. If you need something, you ask me,” she practically growls in your ear, chuckling when she notices you’re shaking. “Oh darling, don’t get scared now. You know better and I know best.”

Before she can say anything else, you both hear what sounds like a plane coming in from outside, which instantly makes her stand up fully and rush to the door. She warns you to stay inside and magically locks the door behind herself as she exits. You rush to the peephole just in time to catch her taking down a drone, grabbing it from the ground and flying off toward the edge of town.

“Is this yours?” Wanda challenged as she tossed the drone toward Hayward, nearly taking him down in the process.

“The missile was just a precaution. You can hardly blame us, Wanda.”

“Oh I think I can,” she replies, a crimson color building in the center of her eyes. “This will be your only warning. Stay out of my home. You don’t bother me, and I don’t bother you.”

“I wish it could be that simple. You’ve taken an entire town hostage.”

Wanda decides to humor the agents by going back and forth with them despite being pissed beyond belief that she was interrupted, even allowing Monica to talk about being an ally before turning them all against each other and making her escape. Despite making her way back into town, her protective attire doesn’t change back to the comfy cleaning clothes she left in. It sticks to her like the anger from any kind of intrusion to her new home and your sudden disobedience all in the same minute.

“Wanda, what was that?” you immediately question when she opens the door, standing up and immediately feeling the urge to sit down again when you make eye contact. “Mommy?”

Wanda doesn’t answer you as she approaches but instead starts ripping your clothing from your body, waiting until you’re fully exposed to push you back down onto the couch. She forces your legs open as wide as they can go, not even smiling this time when she notices your shaking underneath her.

“You want to cum so bad that you couldn’t wait to ask? Fine. Let’s make you cum, slut.”

Wanda rises to her feet first and attempts to bring you up with her, although it takes much more effort than either of you expected. Soft laughter is passed between you until you finally complete the task, and she leads you over to the downstairs bathroom before carefully lowering you onto the toilet. When you open your eyes again, she’s in front of you with a cup of water, gently coaxing you to drink.

Once you’re cleaned up, tucked into bed with your favorite sleep show playing quietly and passed out, Wanda makes her way back to the living room. She cleans up the couch and straightens a few more things before locking up her home and heading over to her closest neighbor.

“Hello again, Agnes,” Wanda greets her glassy-eyed companion with a knowing smile. “I’m going to need your help with something.”

It was in the middle of the night when you woke up screaming and with tears in your eyes because of a nightmare. You looked around and then remembered that you were in your apartment. You reached for your phone on the bedside table and saw that it was past midnight. Because you didn’t know who else to call you dialed Yelena’s number and even though it was in the middle of the night she immediately picked up.

"Y/N? What happened are you alright?" Yelena asked in a worried tone, and you could hear her Russian accent coming through which made you smile a little.

"I had a nightmare." You said after you took a deep breath. Lately you had a lot of nightmares and Yelena is the only person you trust in talking about it. She always listens and is there for you when you want to talk about your nightmares. Because she has them too, she knows exactly how you feel and what you need.

"Should I come over?" Yelena instantly asked and you sat up in your bed.

"No, you don't have to. Just stay on the phone please."

"Of course." You didn't want to talk about the nightmare you had, so you and Yelena talked about some other stuff that came to your mind. Yelena told you something funny Fanny did today and then you both laughed. You then told her that you and Kate are meeting tomorrow and asked her if she wants to come with you. Two hours passed when you looked at the clock for the first time since you woke up.

"Wow did we really just talked for two hours?"

"Do you really don't want me to come over?" Yelena asked again instead of answering your question.

"No, it's in the middle of the night and we should both go sleep." You said but deep down Yelena and you both knew that you wouldn't sleep when you turned off the call. So, she decided to pack some snacks and drive to your apartment. Yelena would always drive to you no matter what time it is. When you heard a knock on your door you knew this could only be Yelena. You stood up from your place in the bed and walked to the door. Then you opened the door and saw Yelena standing there with a bag and in the other hand she had Fanny’s leash. Yelena walked in and you hugged her tight. Then you kneeled down to pet Fanny and Yelena walked over to the couch and placed her bag on the table.

“What do you have there Lena?” You asked her while Fanny jumped at the couch.

“I sneaked into Kate Bishop’s apartment and stole some snacks.” You chuckled and Yelena then showed you all the snacks she had with her. Then you sat down on the couch beside Yelena and Fanny laid her head on your lap and you pet her head with a smile.

“What do you want to watch?” You looked over at Yelena and asked while she opened a bag of chips.

“Whatever you want.”

“You sure?” You asked with a grin because you could now finally bring her into watching Friends.

“Yes, of course.” She said and you opened Netflix and started the first episode of friends. You laughed at the jokes and heard Yelena chuckle when you said the lines that were spoken in the scene. After a while you started to feel tired and felt asleep beside Yelena, but you knew that this time you won't be alone if you had a nightmare and could sleep in peace.

She asked, her tone taking on a firm tone and you slumped more into Wanda's hold, hiding your face a little in her lap but she was having none of it, a simple tug on your hair had you staring up at her with an innocent look on your face.

"I don't wanna go." You admitted your little plan of making them sleep late so that they won't wake you up for your classes and Wanda couldn't help but laugh, "You really thought it would work?" She asked and you shook your head in defeat. "Seriously, She would be in hell and still make you go." Natasha added and Wanda gave her an unamused look, "You could have said heaven too, you know." She pointed out and Natasha along with you let out a laugh.

"Baby I am anything but a liar."

"Shut up." Wanda grumbled and turned to you who by now was sitting up, your eyes held a tired look that had Wanda softening her tone, "It is just two classes, tomorrow." Wanda pointed out softly while Natasha nodded in agreement. They didn't quite understand what to do in the situation, you never had any issues with going to university and it was a complete new scene to deal with.

"I know..It is just.." You let out a sigh of frustration when you noticed the saddened confused look on their faces, it made you feel bad for being a pathetic baby and felt the pent up frustration rising up as your eyes started stinging with tears. "Forget it.. Let's just go to sleep." You started standing up but Natasha grabbed your wrist, "Hey... Talk to us. What's wrong?" Her voice held concern and it only made you feel stupid for even making an issue about something so small.

"It is nothing.. I am fine." You lied but your face told the truth, the tears which stung your eyes now freely making its way down your cheek and Wanda was quick enough to wipe it. "You know what? Let's have some tea in bed and discuss whatever it is that is bothering you."

"I am fine. You don't have to pull a Sheldon on me." You chuckled and she rolled her eyes, "You were just begging to watch another episode of it so suck it." Wanda replied while making her way to the kitchen, "See you two in a bit. Get in bed."

It was not everyday where Wanda would agree to eat or drink something in bed besides her morning black coffee that too would be placed instantly on the side table after each sip so it was a blessing indeed to have the woman bending her rules like that. She even had a huge fight with Natasha over eating in bed and needless to say it didn't end well for you whenever there is trouble in paradise.

"Okay. So you are really letting us eat too?" Natasha confirmed for the umpteenth time and Wanda rolled her eyes before putting up a fake smile, "If you ask, one more time I swear to God Natasha I will make tomorrow hell for you at work." Wanda threatened and you couldn't help but laugh at Natasha's expression.

"Geez." She took another cookie from the plate while taking a sip of her tea. "I just don't like the sudden change, going back to college again every morning.." You finally decided to break the ice and talk about it.

"Look who's being a Sheldon Cooper now."

"Wanda!" Natasha and you both looked at her in surprise and she looked surprised as well, "I am sorry!" She apologized and you couldn't help but laugh at her remark, getting a jib at you for your earlier comment. It lightened the atmosphere.

"Well..It is understandable..but What is it that is making you dread it?" Wanda asked getting back in character, her tone softening and you rolled your eyes a little with a smile at the presentation and Wanda smacked your thigh lightly.

"I don't know..I haven't given it much of a thought..maybe I just don't want to jump right into that change.. and we are so happy each day and now it is back to that hectic schedule.."

"Maybe you just don't want to leave the comfort of just being us three every day." Natasha pointed out and you shrugged your shoulders not knowing what to say exactly to that because you could sense that it was definitely one of the underlying factors behind it.

"Honestly, I struggle with going to work everyday as well.. especially after weekends when I am so full of contentment, spending every waking second with my favourite women in the world.." Natasha brought your hand to kiss your knuckle and you looked up at her, a little smile forming on your lips seeing the gaze of adoration she held for both you and Wanda, it filled you with a warmth that no tea could.

"I hate going to work.. but then the thought of coming back home to you two again..makes me happy. Makes all of it worth it." Natasha shrugged when Wanda awed at her, you could see a blush forming on Natasha's cheeks, "Who knew you were such a cutie underneath those layers."

"Shut up."

Wanda and you laughed and she turned to you, "I tell you what, you slowly ease yourself back into your routine. We will make a to do list every morning and at lunch I will send Alfred to pick you up. We can spend some time together until you feel ready to fully commit to the hectic schedule..Does that sound good?" Wanda asked and you bit your lip, nodding a little, the to do list she made before summer would always help you segregate tasks and give you boost of reinforcement each time you cross a task.

"And we can also eat out tomorrow."

"Now you are just spoiling her." Wanda told Natasha who rolled her eyes and you laughed at the start of another one of their bickering. "Wrong. I am spoiling both of you." Natasha gave a sloppy kiss on Wanda's cheek and Wanda groaned, "Natasha!! Ew." You didn't miss the opportunity when Natasha gave you a mischievous look and instantly gave Wanda's other cheek and even sloppier kiss and jumped away when she went to hit you.

"I seriously hate you two." She gave the two of you a glare before wiping her cheeks with a tissue, "We love you too, Baby." Natasha smirked and you grinned from ear to ear. Maybe if coming back from college meant this, it won't be that horrifying.

Hi there.

I'd like to start with a warning first: Beware!

I'm rather new to tumblr, so if what will come next turns out to be total bs, I hope you all get out of this unscathed, forget we ever crossed paths and will be able to go on with your beautiful lives.

If you're still here, you'll about to hear the nice and accurate story of a guy that stumbled naively into a Good Omens binge watching weekend and came out forever changed.

Roughly 4 weeks ago I was asking friends what they were watching currently. I needed new material to turn to.

That's when it happened.

One of them casually brought up Good Omens on Prime.

I should give it a try.

Angels, demons. Terry Pratchett. Neil Gaiman.

Ok. I like fantasy. I like good story telling. I have an odd sense of bad humour.

I decided to give it a try.

To my eternal shame I have to confess, that until lately I hadn't read a single line written by both Pratchett and Gaiman.

I've read thousands of books. My love for them is so widely spread over all genres, that it simply did never happen. There was always some other book and author that came next.

Oh, how blind and ignorant I have been. I now clearly see the grave error of my ways.

If you can't forgive me, that's ok. I'm having a hard time myself doing so.

Be that as it may, I'm currently reading Good Omens and won't stop there. I promise.

It's been now a few weeks since the allegations on sexual abuse by Neil Gaiman came to light. As a fan of his work I am devastated. As a decent human being I absolutely stand with the victims. Will I continue reading or watching his work? Well, I still have some books on my to-do shelf stack that I already bought and would not want to waste them. So I will read them at some point. Won't buy new ones, however.

As for shows he's involved with, I will continue watching them, if with the given circumstances anything new comes out at all... Too many good people are involved and invested in the works, that don't deserve punishment for his doings.

Good Omens was nothing short than life changing for me. I will never stop cherishing it and the person who brought it into my life (and I certainly don't mean Gaiman by this).

So, where was I?

Right.

Binge watch session of Good Omens season 1.

Saturday evening. Around 9:30pm.

Episode 1 wasn't even running for 5 minutes and I was already sucked right into it.

Frances McDormand's God intro and the garden eden scenes.

I was instantly in love.

Michael Sheen had already been one of my favorites. His first minutes as Aziraphale directly hit home.

David Tennant was familiar but I also hadn't been into Doctor Who, so it took another 5 minutes to also fall for Crowley...

The path was set and I started to deep dive in.

6 hours, 6 episodes, 1 Antichrist and 1 almost Armageddon later I crawled into bed on early Sunday morning to get at least a few hours of sleep. I fell asleep with an almost idiotic grin on my face and a feeling of deep content.

Only 5 hours later, technically still Sunday morning, I woke up, prepared a coffee infusion and switched the TV back on.

There were important deeds to be done. Episodes to be watched.

I could sleep later.

Narrator: No, he would NOT sleep later...

I again immediately fell for the 2 celestials.

The slightly different arc, no dramatic catastrophe on the horizon, instead beautifully written side characters and wonderful new details on the two main protagonists...an evolving love story that had already been clearly visible in season 1...

And god, or Satan, HOW I LOVED JON HAMM as Jimbriel...

I again ended up binge watching the whole season, only interrupted by a few coffee and bathroom breaks.

6 hours later. The end credits were already over for like an eternity and I hadn't moved. Just sitting there, all goosebumps and teared-up.

I ate something. Had to. Don't really remember tasting anything or remembering what I actually had.

I was dumbstruck.

The friend that had suggested to start watching GOs, hadn't let out much more detail, so I hadn't been prepared in the least, for the emotional train wrecked state it had pushed me into.

Hours later I finally fell into an uneasy sleep.

The next morning before work I just sent Tori Amos' Nightingale in Berkeley Park to my GOs friend followed by a ❤️, as a signal that I had watched it all and let her know that there was no need anymore to hold back with talking out of fear to spoiler me.

We had lunch together and spent the whole time rambling on our GOs induced emergency emotional state and the whole beauty of especially Gaiman's season 2.

The next days we kept randomly talking about GO before she pinpointed me to tumblr, in case I wanted to dare a real deep dive into GO fandom.

So here I am now. A week's passed. I've spent hours of reading so many amazing posts around here. So many eye-opening moments.

I'm not only speaking of all those perfect interpretations of GO and it's characters.

What impressed me so much more is the fabulous energy especially radiating from the queer community.

Not being queer, only having a few queer friends, I hadn't really realized, just how big a thing GO in general and season 2 in particular was for you.

At an age where my eyeglasses turned bifocal, I finally came to the realization, that not only my eyes celebrate the duality of life. In fact my whole being did it for as long as I can think back. It is astonishing, how efficiently one can get used to ignore feelings, that society considers unseemly. So, finally, this is me here, bi and queer🌈.

I was raised to walk earth open-minded, to respect everyone, no matter of religion, gender, nationality and sexual orientation. This is so deep a part of my DNA and personality, that GO for me was just a beautiful story about the blind following of religion, the meaning of life and, most of all, love.

Both protagonists are played by male actors and apparently being in an ages long repressed gay relationship? I didn't even consider this unusual or anything else than normal.

2 immortals fall deeply in love, first into humanity, life on earth and then finally into one another, while trying to overcome all the madness of belonging to two opposing sides of the same medal.

A great parable on the pursuit of happiness. Skillfully written for the screen and perfectly casted and played.

Well that was then.

Now I see you and I have to thank you, for opening my mind even further.

For giving so much joy so generously, although every day is still a fight for your rights.

For giving me a space here among you and the chance to delve some more in beautiful minds and fanfiction.

So, if you're still here and reading this, maybe it was not all bs. Maybe it gave you some minutes of entertainment and distraction from every day's stress and problems.

how did you first get into Jeremy Jordan

good question—and one i very recently asked myself when the inevitable "how did i become this person" reflection happened 🫣.

i think there were many different factors (most of them not that good) that caused me to dive into obsessive mode so hard (and so quickly)—and it's definitely a "i see it now, but i couldn't back then" kind of situation. however, i'll spare you from those details XD.

the simple story is that, similar to you, i watched tangled the series and instantly fell in love with varian.

funnily enough, varian was the reason i started watching the show to begin with (coupled with the fact that i love tangled, and rapunzel, and eugene, and pascal, and max, and- 😆). i actually listened to the tts songs before watching the show 🫣 because my sister had gotten hooked on it years before. however, i only listened to the songs with mandy moore and zachary levi 🫣🫣 (cause i was like "who are these other random people, i want rapunzel and eugene"). then one day i listened to "through it all," in which varian has one line (plus an "eh" which i love now, but couldn't tell was him when i first listened XD)—and i was instantly just like: who's that.

have i listened to this one line on loop? you bet.

so i started watching the show—and loved varian from episode one—so naturally, i decide to look up the voice actor. it was jeremy....surprise. except...i didn't actually become obsessed right then. if anything, i was a little weirded out that this tiny boy was voiced by a 30-something year old man 😂 (but it's voice acting, so i was just like: wow, he did a great job 🤩...i'm going to go resume loving varian).

okay and then he sang. i knew he was good from his one line in "through it all", but wOW. adfasjkjaskfjd, on repeat forever and ever.

that's not when i became (jeremy) obsessed either XD.

okay...and then a bunch of life stuff/circumstances kind of collided, and let's just say that i was feeling extremely lonely while also struggling with grief. i think there was about a two week period of this before i started actually bouncing back, and i had just reached the end of s1. now tts was doing a good job with bringing much needed happiness in my life, but...s2 had a very noticeable varian-shaped hole in it 😒.

that's when i turned to jeremy jordan youtube. it started off (the first hour) pretty mild—just some of his disney medleys, or the greatest showman video, or just the ones with millions of views—but it very quickly turned into a full out jeremy jordan youtube spiral™️ XD.

i think in part, i latched on so quickly because jeremy and i are actually very similar people in general. i think at the point of extreme change that i was in at the time, it was just nice to "know" someone who was like me—and it definitely helped that there was easy access to extensive jj content. on a slightly different note, this is absolutely the reasoning behind the fact that if i had a chance to see jeremy live, i would choose one of his concerts over, say, gatsby—i am obsessed with jeremy jordan as jeremy jordan XD (hello akp).

Happy Weekend all :) Watched this ep last night wrote down my thoughts and thought kick off Saturday with a review. Another really good ep ahead. S2 adds onto the base built in S1 in the best way. Off we go.

2x02 The Night General

We catch our first glimpse of our fine duo at the end of roll call. Grey has a new book for Tim to read for his Sergeant's exam. Tim doesn’t look excited in the least. Lucy calls out the book for its dated title. Grey explains to Lucy it's from the 60s. Lovely. Tim asks how this book is relevant with 21st century policing? Grey tells him 'Ours is not to reason why' LOL Basically saying he has to read it whether he wants to or not Poor Tim.

They're not in the shop two seconds before Tim hands her the book to read to him. Of course Lucy is going to give him some push back. She wouldn’t be her if she didn’t. Would you love her Timothy if she was anything but who she is? haha This is how they're going to spend their shift whether Lucy wants to or not.

Lucy suggests just to let her drive so he can read it while they work. That doesn’t fly with Tim baha Lucy doesn’t understand (yet) why he can’t just read it himself. Thinks Tim is just making her do it for him just cause he can. You'll find out soon enough my dear. Lucy knows when to pick her battles at this point. So she decides not to fight Tim on this one. Gives in and cracks this old fossil open and begins to read to him.

Mini marriage scene going on right here. It's their back and forth that I love so much about them. A comfortability has settled between the two of them and it shows. Instantly Lucy is being smug and sassy about the material. One of my fav things she does with him. Pushes his buttons like only she can. Instead of being immediately grumpy he dishes it right back. Oh how they’ve grown. Giving him crap with the book saying he shouldn’t generate fear but respect.

Tim is snarky as well firing back of course she would like this book...We all know she has thrived under his leadership. She's not really taking shots at him so much as using it to mess with him. She can't help herself. Lucy is taking full advantage of this scenario. Tim is painfully aware she is using reading this book to punish him. I mean it's only fair since he's forcing her to read it between calls.

I love her face in the gif above. She’s enjoying herself far too much for Tim’s liking haha He tells her to just keep reading LOL Like Lucy wasn't going to read this book without running commentary. Come on Timothy you know better than that hehe Lucy continues on and you can see him trying so hard to absorb it as she speaks.

Lucy ends up on another quote she likes. Of course its about patrol officers having value. So she chooses this one to have him parrot back to her. She is agitating the crap out of him and knows it. Telling him he needs to repeat it in order to memorize it. Using her psych degree to justify it. He begrudgingly does it and she asks him to do it again lmao Lucy is pushing her boundaries today and is fine with it haha

They get a call interrupting her and Tim is so relieved. Lucy responds to dispatch then says 'Ok 3 min out more reading.' LMAO She is relentless and begins up again. Tim's face above I’m dying. LOL He looks like he’s being endlessly tortured by her studying methods. This episode is absolute gold start to finish. He is at her mercy with this and knows it.

We rejoin them in the shop after their call. Lucy has moved onto chapter 3. ‘The Healthy Habits Of Command’ She goes on to read out loud ‘Delegation is the key to leading men in times of stress.’ Which leads to the line above. She follows it up with That’s so true don’t you think? Tim snaps back it’s hard enough to listen to this stuff without her editorializing haha Honestly Tim what did you expect from her? She tells him she’s happy to stop anytime and get back to her paper work.

Lucy goes on to tell him that he’s going to have to re-read all this again anyways to memorize it. You see the panic in Tim’s face. It’s here Lucy finds out he learns best when he’s hears it. That response immediately gets the wheels in Lucy’s head churning with her response of Really? He then asks what? Why? She tells him nothing…. Doesn’t take Tim long to figure out she’s holding something back from him. He says ‘Boot...’

Lucy tries to mumble her reply at first. Telling him he has a learning difference under her breath. It’s kinda funny how she tries to hide her answer. She knows he’s going to take it the wrong way. Tim makes her speak up and Lucy bites the bullet. Then try’s to soften the blow by saying he’s just wired differently. That he just processes information differently than others. She is digging herself a hole and knows it. Tim is bristly af as she tries explain this to him. He tells her he doesn’t have a learning disability. Flat out refuses to accept it.

Lucy digs her hole even further when she brings up Isabel. Tim has grown but that continues to be a sore subject for him. Lucy is trying so hard for him not to take this as a bad thing. Minute she brings Isabel up and their time at the academy he shuts down. Tells her they’re not talking about this. Lucy looks crushed she’s offended him. That comfortability and banter from earlier gone. You can see how much she wants to fix it. Unfortunately they get a call before she can rectify the situation. It's about a suspicious mini van casing a house. She tries to fix it as they drive to the call but he is shut off completely. Lucy is defeated and says never mind….

They pull up and its an old colleague of Tim's. He is a bounty hunter now. Lucy is assertive right off the bat saying they've received multiple 911 calls about him. Rex bites back calling her boot and to watch her tone. Tim steps in right away. No one calls her ‘boot’ but Tim good sir. So sexy when he tells Rex she’s the police now. Even though he’s grumpy about the studying he still has her back on this 100%. Such growth Tim. I love me some protective/supportive Tim. Lucy doesn't let Rex's behavior shake her. Lets this surly grump of a man know that. It’s like she has experience with them or something heh

Tim's face when Rex says 'You let her talk to you like that?' It’s a 'Watch it...' We all know Tim likes it when Lucy talks to him like that. It’s that assertive confidence that attracts him to her. One of many reasons But It’s far too early to delve into that fully haha We all know it’s true though. Lucy tells him his bounty Nico is a very dangerous person. Rex tries to rattle her one more time. Saying how he’s been dealing with dangerous men since she was in diapers. Lucy tells him these days you have to call law enforcement for this stuff. She cracks me up and says maybe he should read Tim’s book LMAO

Lucy tries the next day to mend fences with Tim. Asking him if he'd like her to read to him? Trying to offer up a olive branch. He instantly shuts her down. Says no. Lucy tries to implore him to let her. That he needs to learn it. He grumpily replies ‘I can do that on my own.' Oof she really hit a nerve with this one. Before Lucy can fight him some more they pull back up to Rex’s van. Tim is wanting to do a welfare check on him. He didn't report his bounty last night. Lucy calls him out for it and Tim says he wouldn’t put it that way to Rex though. But he's being a softie and she knows it.

They find blood and broken glass and call it in. Rex has been assaulted and Tim sees red. He takes off once Rex says Nico is headed to his aunt's. Lucy calls after him saying they need a warrant. Tim doesn’t listen as he takes off and Rex tells Lucy go with Tim.

Tim busts in raging says blood on the door enough reason for them to search. Lucy takes control of the situation quickly. Makes the aunt call Nico. Says they’ll arrest for aiding and abetting if she doesn’t. Does this to calm Tim down a bit. She’s so good at that. Not the first time she's taken charge to rein him a bit. The aunt calls it doesn't take long to find him in the house Then comes this bad ass fight scene. Last episode I said they’re like poetry in motion in the field. This gif is the definition of that. Look how well they work together to take Niko down. It’s a thing of beauty really.

First off let’s enjoy the fact we’re getting Tim all sweaty and guns out to play shall we? Ovary explosion for me. It's a very nice visual for me to start this scene. *fans self* Never get over how fine this man is honestly. Now let’s move onto the beautiful moment that’s about to commence. Lucy finds Tim working out. Ask's if he's training for his next re-match with Nico haha She hands him the little Audio book he looks so confused as to what this might be. His confusion continues after she explain its the audiobook version of his book.

Lucy looks so proud of herself when she explains she recorded it for him. She should be. You know she spent whatever free time she had off shift doing that for him. That is no small feat. Also the fact that she reached out to Isabel for him. I can’t imagine that conversation wasn’t a little awkward for her. But guess what? She did it anyways to help him. Even when he’s obstinate af with her she is driven to help him no matter what.

That psych degree comes in handy when she’s deciphering Tim. Why he acts the way he does. He lashed out cause he was embarrassed by the fact that he learns through listening. This is why Lucy does this for him. So he feels better about the way he learns. Doesn’t feel shame about it. He is much more receptive to her explanation this time around. You can see it in his face in that second gif above. She is so kind and gentle while she does it. Letting him know hey it's ok you learn this way. Nothing is wrong with it or you.

I can totally relate to Tim too btw. I am a Kinesthetic learner as well. I absorb audio books far more than sitting down and reading. I have to be moving while I listen or I’m instantly bored and disengage. If it’s a fic I’m fine for most part if it’s a one shot. But anything I have to read at massive length? I gotta be moving. So I get it Tim I’m same way my love.

She ends her explanation by complimenting him in the best way she can. By letting him know that the way he learns is why he’s such an excellent cop. Building him up and letting him know its why he excels the way he does at his job. Reinforcing his way of learning isn’t a bad thing at all but a strength for him. You can see it in his face he finally accepts this about himself. He replies 'Yeah.' with a small smile of gratitude. Like she's just taught him something about himself and he's not mad about it. Tim can't help but let that Lucy light of hers in.

Lucy says she will see him tomorrow. Wants to let him get back to his work out. You can tell Tim wants to say something before she goes. He builds up the courage to say 'Thanks' as she’s leaving ❤️ It's such a loaded Thanks for him. The absolute gratitude he has for her in this moment. I’ve said it many times and I’ll continue to say it. Eric says so damn much with just a look. If her recording an audio book isn’t an act of service and love to him I don’t know what is. The look on this man’s face as he says 'Thanks.' He is blown away she took the time to do this for him. Has to make sure Lucy knows how grateful he is before she leaves. Because she saw he had a need and fulfilled it for him. Put him first and took care of him in best way she could think of.

Lucy’s smile Is everything after he says this. It's the most honest and genuine 'Thanks ' she's ever received from him. She almost can't handle it. Why she nervously smiles back instead of replying. She is adorable. Gah no one gets through like Lucy does for him. Makes me wanna cry honestly. They’re written so damn well it makes me happy. Truly just make one another better in the best way.

That little smile of his when he hears Lucy’s intro. My damn heart. She truly is the best rookie he’s ever trained. Damn straight. If you weren’t shipping them before, this scene has to get you hook, line and sinker. She recorded an old outdated book for him in her personal time, built him up, made him feel better about how he learns, and reached out to his ex for clarification in order to help him better.

Actions speak louder than words they say for a reason. Her actions are screaming right now. Makes you wonder if he listened at night at all? Did he ever fall asleep to her voice during his studying? Maybe he did maybe he didn't. A girl can dream though haha Such a good ep for them start to finish.

Tim goes on to tell him she’s going to pay the price if he doesn’t get his shit together. That she will be the target of his fathers aggression if he goes belly up halfway through training. That Jackson owes her his career. Whew lord I love me some protective Tim.

BTAS Penguin - First Date Night

When you started back on the dating scene, you didn’t expect to be on a date with the infamous Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a The Penguin. 

However, you had high hopes that he had truly reformed. He has been out of Stonegate for a few months now, and he was just so damn endearing and polite when you met him. 

You could clearly see why he was referred to as The Gentleman of Crime…well at least back when he did crime. 

You arrived at the restaurant dressed in your best formal outfit. After all, you did want to impress him. 

“Ah, there you are my darling dove! I must say you look rather radiant!” 

There was no mistaking that elegant and melodic voice. You turned around and smiled down at the man of the hour. 

“Thank you, Oswald! You look dashing, yourself!” 

The ex-con waddled up to you with a wide smile on his face. He stood in front of you and gracefully took your hand and gently kissed the back of it.

Before you could react, Oswald walked ahead of you and opened the door for you to the restaurant. You nodded your head in gratitude as you walked through the threshold and into the building. 

The establishment was able to give you a table far off in the corner and in another section of the dining room. As you two made your way to your table, Oswald promptly pulled out your seat for you. You gave him a wide smile and a soft thank you before sitting down. 

Once you were seated, Oswald gently scooted your chair in closer to the table. 

When Oswald got situated in his seat in front of you, he asked you, “tell me, what have you been up to since our last encounter?”

As you browsed the menu, you tried to think of anything that could possibly pique his interest, but all you really did was work. 

You decided to stay honest, “nothing much, really. I’ve just been working, mostly. What about you?” 

“Well, I’ve been trying to catch up on the latest art and theatre exhibitions here in Gotham…not to mention caring for my fine feathered fellows in my aviary…” 

He paused as he took a moment to look into your eyes. “...But I’ve mostly been thinking about you…and waiting for this night to finally see you again, darling.” 

You were so excited to hear about his life, that you almost missed out on his comment. You instantly felt your cheeks heat up, your hand rose up to try and keep it at bay to no avail. 

“Well, you aren’t the only one. Seeing you again has already been the highlight of my week, Oswald.” 

“Please, my sweet sparrow, you can call me Ozzie or Oz, if you’d like.” 

You giggled. “Okay…Ozzie.” You smiled at how naturally right if felt to call him that. 

You two carried on throughout the date, discussing art, birds, and life. Your cheeks were red from blushing and numb from laughing. You hoped for just a fraction of Oswald’s confidence thus far, so that you may grant him a kiss on the cheek to end the night on a high note.

Doctor Who, but Chronologically: 35

It's 1941! The Second World War is now underway, and we, lucky things that we are, get the glory that is Christopher Ecclestone's Doctor back as we reach the Empty Child.

Incidentally, if you were a young Welsh adult in 2005, this episode absolutely blew your tits clean off even more effectively than Margaret's email. We held WATCH PARTIES for the second part. This was THE story we all went feral for, and it is fascinating revisiting it now, almost two decades later, as part of this incredibly pig-stupid watch order. It looks so dated! Everyone is so young! Richard Wilson has a role for a single scene and completely steals not just the show but the entire fucking series! That hospital is the Old Infirmary in Cardiff! Those train station steps are at Cathays! I'm having THE BEST time

Okay anyway

So this is the first of a two-parter - the Doctor and Rose chase a spaceship that's on Mauve Alert (aliens consider Red Alert to be camp, apparently) through the time stream to land in London, 1941, except they land a month behind it. On landing, the Doctor meets Nancy, a homeless woman who spends her time breaking into people's houses while the air raids are going and stealing food for a horde of adorable homeless urchins, except they're all being menaced by the titular Empty Child, who it emerges is a creepy gas mask zombie that used to be Nancy's brother - until a month ago.

It follows them and has Bluetooth. Likes asking if they're its mam. Connects with phones. There's a fun bit where it makes the TARDIS phone ring, which reactivated an 18 year old memory in me of me fucking GASPING at the time.

Eventually the Doctor makes it to the bomb site. The Old Infirmary I'm sorry a definitely real London hospital is nearby, and Richard Wilson is playing a Doctor inside (some SUPER FUN bits where Nancy says "You need to meet the Doctor" and we're all like "Whoa, another Doctor, say what -" look this episode BLEW OUR TITS CLEAN OFF, okay, it's so atmospheric and mysterious). He's the only one still alive - the wards are filled with rows and rows of people, gas masked like the Empty Child, and equally empty. This is where Nancy's brother was first brought, we're told; and the next day, everyone who touched him became like him. Within the week, so were all the patients. They now all have the exact same injuries, and they lie dormant, like creepy zombies.

It happens to Richard Wilson right in front of us and it's so, so creepy. Fuck me this is a good episode. Like I know, I know, it's a Moffat one, and I'm not going to pretend there aren't the occasional troublesome bit, but the fact is that the man does his best work when he has a talented editor who tells him no and takes the pen out of his hands before he wrecks his own stories. Moffat-edited-by-RTD produces some great stuff, and this is one. Yeah I said it. AND I'D SAY IT AGAIN)

MEANWHILE Rose immediately wandered off after landing ("Just once," the Doctor mournfully tells a random street cat he sees and instantly scoops up and cwtches, "I'd like someone who doesn't wander off. 800 years and it's the only thing that would still surprise me"). She decides to climb a random rope up a blimp for no reason other than The Plot Requires It (curse you, Moffat), and then gets rescued...

BY CAPTAIN JACK HARKNESS!!!!!!!!!!!

We're getting this in order!!!! We haven't met him before!!! But oh, we have had him TEASED to us, haven't we - we know he gives Whittaker a warning to beware the Lone Cyberman, or billions will die. We know he'll "get round" to Me. And now we're meeting him!!!! Fantastic.

He is, too, he's the epitome of Be Gay Do Crimes. He's a conman. Turns out the spaceship they were chasing - which is somehow causing the gas mask people - was sent by Jack, because he thought they were time agents and wanted to fleece them. It's an ambulance! Though he made sure it was empty, so no clue yet how Bluetooth gas mask zombies are the result. Rose spends the majority of this episode absolutely horny on main for this guy; I mean it's very, you know, Moffatt writing, but also Jack is very fun and sexy so fair enough, girl, he's a sure thing and you got needs you chase that dick. He saves her from falling to her death, too, so that's fun.

Anyway the episode ends on a big cliffhanger. Nancy is found by her empty zombie brother, who corners her in a house and is asking her if she's his mummy. It wakes up all the zombies in the hospital, though, so they start menacing the Doctor, Rose and Jack. There were seventeen of us packed into a tiny student flat to watch the resolution of that, back in 2005. I sat on a cushion on the floor. I am very nostalgic.

Other things hinted at: the Doctor lost a son and a grandson, and knows what it's like to be the only child out in the cold. And Mickey is only Rose's sort of boyfriend, whatever that means. Not many new plot threads - only the cliffhanger really, but we'll be watching that immediately (waiting a week in 2005 was AGONY). But! We can remove the one asking who is Captain Jack Harkness! Fun fun fun.

“She” (an unknown person) is returning (perhaps River returned as Missy. Maybe Me? Maybe Clara???!)

An entire planet, Pyrovilia, just… disappeared, somehow. (Maybe because the TARDIS is exploding??? Saturnine was also lost, and that WAS because of the TARDIS exploding. The lion man’s planet was also lost but he was a bit of a knob about it if I’m honest.)

Amy is maybe dead (she’s not)

The Doctor has been cubed (he’s out, but how?)

River is possibly blown up  (unless she’s Missy. NEW INFO: she is definitely not blown up)

The TARDIS has blown up  (It’s fine now. Except it’s sort of melting now because it’s corrupted, but it’s fine again)

The universe appears to have ended  (the universe is back again)

The Doctor has employed(?) Nardole

(And Nardole was “reassembled???” Nardole had glass nipples and invisible hair?? WHAT THE FUCK IS HE)

There’s a vault in the TARDIS and it contains Missy but we don’t know why (sometimes she knocks for the bants)

V looked at the crowd of scared teenage workers. Her claws and wings were out. She was ready to kill. She just needed the perfect moment to strike.

V waited in the corner of the room. It was dark, so no one noticed her. She giggled to herself, imagining all the carnage she could create with the workers in this room alone. Lizzy walked out onto the stage and began her speech.

"Okay, listen up NERDS! Since the entire prom court mysteriously disappeared, your prom queen will be decided by a live volunteer and vote!" Lizzy continued on distracting the crowd from one red-eyed Russian drone, who silently crept towards the scheming V.

V readied her weapons. This was perfect! "Now to strike when they least—" her monologue was cut off by her entire body getting covered in a red glow. "What the—" Right before she could finish, she suddenly couldn't feel the floor and she was falling. She landed on something that promptly wrapped a few appendages around her.

V had landed in Doll's open hand, which she quickly used to grab her and hold her tight. V's head being the only thing not in Doll's fingers. V looked around frantically, everything suddenly appearing bigger to her, before laying her eyes on Doll's.

V's eyes hollowed at the sight of the giant Russian. Doll smiled menacingly. Doll began to speak in her Russian dialect, "Hello, V. Nice of you to...drop in!" Doll forced the memories of V killing her parents in front of her. V grimaced as she was forced to experience what Doll felt in those moments.

"Anyways, you get it." Doll lifted V high above her head. Her red eyes gleamed in satisfaction. V couldn't get a chance to think and respond when Doll dropped her. V closed her eyes and braced for the floor.

V's legs sunk into a hollow void. It was warm and wet. She could feel a spongy mass behind her legs. Everything below her hips was covered in what felt like a warm slime.

V opened her eyes to see she was waist-deep in the worker's mouth. Doll swallowed, bringing her lower legs into her throat and V up to her chest in the mouth. V tried to push against Doll's lips and pull herself out. She tried to kick, but her legs were pinned. Doll giggled and took V's hands, pushing them into her mouth and pinning them to V's sides.

"Ew! Let me go, you stupid worker!" V wiggled and squirmed as much as she could, to which Doll swallowed again. Now only V's head remained outside. Holographic tears started to form in V's eyes as she finally came to the conclusion, she wasn't getting out of this situation.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Is that what you want to hear? Don't eat me!" Doll got ready to swallow again, but a loud crash came from the ceiling.

N and Uzi dropped from the hole in the ceiling, ready to fight. Uzi got into a fighting stance. "Unhand them you...fiend?" Uzi looked at Doll with V's head sticking out of her mouth confused. Doll instantly blushed. She turned to N who continued to look at V in Doll's mouth. "V! I didn't know you liked doing that thing Uzi liked! What did you say it was again? Vo—"

Uzi slapped a hand over N's mouth, feeling the stares coming from her classmates and hearing a snicker or two. "Shut up, N!" she turned to V and Doll, "You two can keep doing that. Have a good night!" Uzi quickly shuffled her and N to the other side of the room.

V watching N and Uzi leave yelled, "Wait! No! He—" Doll quickly pulled the rest of V into her mouth and swallowed, sending V squirming and screaming down her throat and into her awaiting belly.

V slid into the warm and dark enclosure with fear in her eyes. She could feel the walls squeeze and press around her. She felt gross inside the worker's stomach. She wanted to scream and fight, and so she did. Kicking and screaming inside Doll's stomach.

Outside Doll's stomach, Doll was smiling with a hand over her stomach. She had won and her plan had worked. She walked over to a chair and sat down. Relaxing while V squirmed in her stomach.

"You're not getting out!" Doll teased, "Just give up. We both know you're not going anywhere." V knew she was right, but she didn't want to appear weak. "Shut up! You can't keep me here forever! I'll get out one day! You'll see!"

Doll just giggled and stood up. "Suit yourself!" Doll began to walk over to Lizzy, who had stood in the corner after her distraction was replaced by a bigger one. "You finished Doll?" Lizzy looked up from her phone and put it away. She wrapped her arms around Doll and smiled.

"Yes Lizzy. She's in there, fighting like hell." Doll chuckled and pat her stomach. "Ooh! Let me feel!" Lizzy placed a hand over Doll's abdomen. She could feel V's movements, and if she paid close enough attention, her screams. "She's really going ham in there! I'm jealous!" Doll giggled and took Lizzy's hand. "Now that that's taken care of, care to dance?" Lizzy smiled and said yes.

Doll and Lizzy spent the rest of the night dancing and partying. They ran into N, who had nommed Uzi at some point in the night. Doll and N shared a conversation about nomming people. Eventually, everyone went home, with Doll and Lizzy spending the night at Doll's house, enjoying each other's company and Doll's little belly prisoner's struggles.

now it's time for a proper star trek update. i am sooo behind. monday we did voy's "the q and the grey," made it about 11 minutes in before quitting and switching to ds9's "the ascent" and then did ds9's "rapture," and then later that evening i finished "the q and the grey" on my OWN, then on tuesday we did voy's "marcocosm" and "fair trade" which means we accidentally went a little out of order (we were supposed to hit another ds9 ep first).

as mentioned above, we got. 11 minutes. into this episode. rough!

there's normally very little sexism on this show which is like. despite this show's tone being similar to tng's, a better cast and less sexism put it MILES ahead of tng in my opinion. but for some reason you put q in a room with janeway and WOW. the harassment, the casual "kathy," the belittlement...like, it was kind of funny in CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES when it was picard but it looks sooo different when he is doing this to a woman. like, he wasn't trying to have picard's baby, was he

not to mention he's always a little racist to chakotay, which is even more unfunny than him being fantasy racist to worf. him stealing the tattoo wasn't like. funny or quirky. jesus

also. CIVIL WAR COSTUMES? REALLY? REALLY??? they cast q's side as the yanks but like...he's rebelling against the government, so............

anyway, this episode had two redeeming moments for me. first was when chakotay was jealous i did holler. second was when janeway decided to "watch" the two qs procreate and then it was just a little zap, which i did think was really funny. other than that, it was ALL bad. i checked and we have one q episode left and then thank god i don't see his ass again until lower decks

the ascent (ds9):

THE MOST EP EVER. i'm normally "eh" on quark/odo but i really enjoyed this episode mostly because even when they were trying to survive they could NOT stop arguing

also, it did wonders for quark, like...he's the reason odo's leg got broken and he made it to the top and saved him. furthermore, he hates root beer, but bought some for nog. i love when quark has little hints of having a soul. like when he sold food at cost for bajorans. we don't need much, just more than we got in season 3

going from like the existential mountain climb back to the silly little odd couple b plot was INSANE whiplash, by the way

i do love how much of an artist jake is. he wants to wake up at 1pm have junk for breakfast and spend all day working on his fanfic while cleaning never. maybe he wanted to move out so sisko wouldn't nag him to clean so much

ALSO, AWW, JAKE MOVING OUT...my best friend sisko was so emotional. please. i love him so much

i did also like that the solution to the odd couple problem in both the instances of jake and nog and odo and quark was to simply invent a bigger problem. for odo and quark it's the mountain but for jake and nog it's not being roomies anymore. they were so happy when sisko forced them to get back together they instantly forgave each other's flaws which is heartwarming but also extremely fucking funny

rapture (ds9):

the title, i know, i know, i KNOW. i almost typed "THE rapture" like twice, nobody say anything, fuck

did not love this episode BUT i made it through the entire thing without calling kai wynn a bitch

i actually liked the depth they gave her in this ep, though it's not enough to make the character fun for me. she just takes such relish in being cruel for the sake of her faith, i can't stand it

kira also wearing blinders this episode :/ it's not that i don't think she should have a faith but i wish it didn't make her stupid. like, oh let's let sisko die from his visions! let's be an artist instead of a soldier! because some guy said to! come on

poor kassidy having just got out of prison and now she gets back to sisko being like. totally fucking crazy. i do like that she and jake have bonded though. i hope she makes him a great stepmother someday

i feel like this plot is gonna come back later...? i've read Some Things about sisko. i will say i'm curious to see where it goes. at the same time, i can't believe he chose his visions over JAKE when we all saw how jake was in the visitor and i'm kind of mad he didn't so much as apologize for putting jake in that position. it doesn't really feel like he ever came back to his "right mind." i hope he's not like that for the rest of the series lol

JANEWAY HOT!!!!!!!!!! this is so rough for me because i've never found her like stupid attractive before but wow the laura croft look really did it for me. i wish chakotay could have seen it 🫡

sorry i know there are other things to say about this episode. ummm it's much funnier post covid. the giant viruses. i wish they hadn't made them so buglike though

very fun that the doctor had gone full apocalypse mode. it makes absolutely NO sense how he was able to infect everyone if he wasn't real though...that's the whole reason they sent him down

the prosthetics in this were very cool. the cgi effects were very silly

the conceit of this episode was so fucking stupid. like, what about any of them makes neelix think they're gonna toss him out for being useless. kes is also useless, they don't NEED a nurse, but they're not throwing her out. a single conversation could have solved all of this

i thought that guy wix looked so familiar i was struggling to remember what he did in voyager, but no, i made that up.

on the other hand, i did like seeing vorik again! i remembered him from tng because of how fucking good his spock mannerisms were. like, not his name or anything he actually DID on tng, just how good he was at being a vulcan. i hope he comes back trek DESPERATELY needs more vulcans. maybe he and tuvok hang out and find peace in nobody pestering them about having emotions lol

anyway, i do love that janeway gave him hell at the end for it though. like that time she lectured b'elanna and tuvok and they wanted to die. AND she did it to chakotay once too. one thing she will do is shame somebody for being fucking stupid <3 may everyone on the cast get one before the series is over

Moonlight rewatch for millionth time

Episode 8 random thoughts and feelings I had while rewatching again: cause I’m bored and have nothing else to do or watch. And I love this show

Unfortunately Shepherd’s followers would be (and are) a thing in real life. Like I know why people like him get followers but still like why?

I wish we got to explore more of Audrey’s relationship with Beth in later episodes just like “oh I spoke to Audrey the other day…” I’m hoping she was able to recover and finally get the rest she needs

Audrey “I just want to feel safe” followed by Beth immediately taking her to Mick

Again so sad humans are buttholes and torment survivors of heinous crimes like geez what’s wrong with people

Mick’s face after Beth told him she always felt safe after being kidnapped

He looks like he’s about to come clean then decides against it

I know Morgan/Coraline was just testing the waters so to speak to see how Beth and Mick feel about each other but even Lola and now Audrey pick up on the budding romance between them

This is also the second episode in a row that Josh is missing from and when Audrey asks if there’s anything going on between Beth and Mick. Beth gives a cheeky little smile and an eyebrow raise then is like oh yeah Josh when asked about his toothbrush. Again making it obvious to me that the writers always knew Beth and Mick were going to be together (or maybe I just have my shipping goggles on)

I like Beth’s home decor there’s a boho/natural vibe to it.

I like how Mick uses his pretty privilege from time to time to get people to help him or do something he needs

You now that I think about it I don’t think Father Garza’s name was ever on that list that was sent to Ben Talbot, maybe since he was a priest he was not on the radar but Donnavan Shepherds name was on the list

I like how Mick hesitated to take the machete with him and doesn’t take it but that end biting him in the butt later on

I also wish we got to see more of his house. Like we know he at least has two bathrooms upstairs as he took a shower in one and Coraline took a shower in a different one in episode 9

36 years since Mick’s last confession which makes that 1971 so he would have been a vampire at that time. I wonder what happened to make him go to confession and also have that be the last time. I’m basing that off the fact that this episode happens in 2007 same time it aired (not exact date but generally around that time)

I wonder what the other papers were in Beth’s file, some looked like filers of some sort

I like how Mick instantly knows that something is wrong just because Beth’s voice sounds off

my top 10 bones episodes

I watched Bones for the first time last summer and am currently in my third rewatch. I've noticed so many small details I missed the first two times around (thanks to me finishing the show in a month). Each episode is so amazing and has a lot of great moments. I've had a list in my notes of some of my favorite episodes and decided to narrow it down to my top 10. This was a lot harder than I thought because I love each episode for different reasons. Anyway, here's my personal top 10 and reasons why I love them :) (also spoilers obviously)

10. double trouble in the panhandle (season 4, episode 12)

i know undercover eps have mixed opinions, either you love them or you hate them and i love them. the circus one is my favorite of the undercovers and i don't really have a clear reason. i think it's a really fun episode to watch that's so different from the usual setting we see. the costumes were also amazing and Emily looked gorgeous in her final performance outfit (she always looks gorgeous but still). i think it also showed a new layer of how much faith and trust Brennan has in Booth as well as their love for each other that's obvious to everyone but them. this is also Emily's favorite undercover so it made it that much better.

9. the verdict in the story (season 3, episode 13)

first, i love courtroom and legal episodes so this one not only being that but centered around Brennan and Max instantly had me intrigued. it also has such good individual scenes that make me love the episode even more. first, the scene above where Booth and Brennan are talking and Sweets asks about writing a book on them. the way they talk like he's not even there and Brennan's line, "do you likee us?" kills me every time. it also brought the iconic "that's a lot of heart, Bones." when Brennan decides to implicate herself to save Max from prison. even with their complicated relationship, Brennan loves her dad and doesn't want to lose him again. her going this far, proves this and further adds to the layer of her character. the first time i watched this episode, it almost felt like a movie and i couldn't predict whether Max would be found guilty or not. let's not forget about that final hug scene between Brennan and Booth. with Booth being torn between being happy she has her dad but also upset he got away with it, says so much about their relationship as well. and finally, Brennan hugging her dad knowing he's free and they can work on their relationship always makes me cry.

8. aliens in a spaceship (season 2, episode 9)

i know this is a fan-favorite episode and for good reason. it's one of the first times we see members of the Jeffersonian in real danger (minus two bodies in the lab, more on that later) and they're on a time clock. Booth and Brennan are also more comfortable in their relationship at this point so their dynamic in this situation is amazing to see. Hodgins and Brennan having to rely on each other for survival and use their strengths to figure a way out never fails to amaze me. their friendship is also one of my favorites on the show and it's really rooted in their experience in this episode. Hodgins telling Brennan she has faith in Booth is another clear indicator of the deeper feelings she's struggling with. i love seeing them write letters to loved ones (Brennan later revealed to have written to Booth, shows she did love him back in season 2 but just wasn't fully aware or comfortable enough to admit it out loud, yet uses her potentially last, dying words as a confession to him, sobbed the first time i heard it and when rewatching the season with this info) and them saying goodbye to each other when trying to blow themselves out of the car. they know at this point, that either choice of trying or doing nothing will result in their death so they decided to try, and thankfully Booth was there to see. Booth doing his action-hero run down the hill to pull them both out always makes me cry. if it wasn't for both of them being taken together, likely, Booth wouldn't have gotten there to find Brennan alive. it really highlighted each of their strengths and resourcefulness to extend their air supply and fight to escape. i know the gravedigger became a recurring storyline, but i really wish the aftermath of Brennan and Hodgins' coping and healing would have been explored more in the show as i think it really did have a big impact on Brennan no matter how easily she says she can compartmentalize.

7. the man in the fallout shelter (season 1, episode 9)

ahh, the first Christmas episode of bones, i love holiday episodes of shows but this one is especially good. i'll admit on my first watch this one didn't stand out to me a lot but on my second one, i really fell in love with it. this episode is the first time we see the more personal sides of the Jeffersonian team and how they do spending this much time together. we get to see the families of everyone as well as compare their experience to Brennan who she has no one to visit. this is one of the first times we clearly see how isolated and alone Brennan is. the way she wants to spend Christmas is so drastically different than everyone else's. at this time, work really was her entire life and the Jeffersonian was the closest thing she had to family (we obviously know they become her family but this is still season 1 so we'll give it time). i love seeing Booth high and him annoying Brennan because of her persistence in wanting to work on the case. learning that her parents disappeared around Christmas is a new piece in that puzzle and seeing her open the present she held onto all those years is really sweet. i can't remember if this was acknowledged in the show or if i just saw someone point it out online, but after the season 1 finale, we learn Brennan's mom had been in the Jeffersonian the whole time, unidentified. so technically, Brennan did spend Christmas with her mom just in a very different way. sometimes that makes me sad and other times i think it's kinda sweet.

6. the woman in white (season 9, episode 6)

i think this one is pretty obvious why it's in my top 10. Booth and Brennan's relationship build-up is the main reason i watched the show and loved it. they did such a good job with this ep and it's everything i could've ever wanted. Brennan's dress was gorgeous, them only caring that the other was happy, Emily's husband's cameo, and of course the vows. Brennan and Booth's vows were honestly what made the whole episode. their wedding scenes were, of course, gorgeous but the vows were not only true to character, but so sweet, had so many callbacks to early seasons, and really made the 9 seasons wait worth it. starting with Booth's, him remembering that the spot they're getting married at is where she chased him during their first (technically second) case and she called herself a duck. then saying "chasing you is the smartest thing i've done in my life and being chased by you has been my greatest joy" what more could you ask for. it's so true to their character's relationships and the early dynamics of the show. if i heard that on my wedding day i think i'd simply melt. and if you thought it couldn't get any better, then there are Brennan's vows. i always hoped what she wrote in that letter would be revealed but i never thought it would be at her wedding and i'm so glad it was. i was already crying at Booth's vows but hearing hers made me sob like a baby. the full weight of Booth knowing that Brennan was reading what could have been her last words and that they were addressed to him? her being able to acknowledge how happy being with and looking at him makes her and that he "makes her life messy and confusing and unfocused and rational and wonderful" 7 years ago, all the way back in season 2. and the knowledge that since Brennan was rescued she knew she had to find a time to admit those feelings to him. this episode just perfectly connects their relationship over the show and seems like it was made with fans in mind. i love every part of it and it always makes me cry happy tears for them.

5. the doctor in the photo (season 6, episode 9)

wow, this episode. Temperance Brennan is my favorite tv character of all time and i think one of the most complex. this episode proves that with it being so Brennan-centric. it reveals so much about her inner thoughts, how her brain works, and what she really came back hoping for after Maluku. she came back willing to take the risk and be with Booth, but he came back with Hannah. she spent the first 8 episodes trying to convince herself she was fine and it didn't matter, but this case brought everything to surface and she was forced to confront the fact that she had to try. she didn't want any regrets and she knew Booth was who she wanted to be with. Brennan opened herself up to him and let down all her walls in a way she never had before, in the hopes he would reciprocate and want to try. Booth being the guy he is keeps his loyalty to Hannah (as much as this hurts Brennan and viewers, this was the best decision at the time. they still had so much to work through, and the later elevator episode made so much more sense for them) and turns her down. Brennan's reaction, in my opinion, is the rawest and most unfiltered emotion we've ever seen from her. because all her walls were down, she couldn't compartmentalize that rejection as quickly or come to terms with the fact that she missed her chance to be with him. i do wish Booth would have done more here to comfort her but i believe he was also struggling with wanting to be with her but also not wanting to be unfair to Hannah. i do think Booth loved Hannah, but he could never in the same way he loves Brennan and he knew that. now Booth is also aware of Brennan's feelings and that if he were to try again, she wouldn't reject him. Brennan then recovering and saying "i can adjust." always hurts me because she deserved so much more. you can see her again retreating to her old self of never letting anyone in and not trusting anyone. this episode was just so well done and Emily played it beautifully. it's such a big episode for Brennan's character growth, as well as setting up for what happens in episode 16, the blackout in the blizzard. i don't think this episode will never not crush me and it reveals so much about who Brennan is and how she handles situations.

4. the parts of the sum of the whole (season 5, episode 16)

when i first watched this, i was in shock. the revelation that not only had they worked a full case before the pilot, but they were directly flirty, kissed, and had a huge fight? Sweets was me and i was Sweets hearing all of that. i love flashback episodes and this one was full of them. seeing the way they originally interacted with each other and what ended up happening, makes their attitudes in the pilot make so much more sense. that kiss outside the pool house and the implication that she was what stopped Booth from gambling again always kill me. i loved seeing their initial interactions even their argument, because would it really be b&b without a little intensity? now let's talk about what happened outside on the steps. i do love Booth's speech but he should've known her better than to ambush her like that. when i first watched, i thought this is where they finally get together and she takes the risk. watching back, her saying she can't take the risk because she's a scientist is so in character. Brennan obviously has trust and abandonment issues and swore off the idea of traditional relationships and marriage because she never thought she could trust someone in that way or have someone love her that way. Booth has slowly over the years broken all of the walls down, and although she does love him and wants to try, the idea of doing that and it not working out terrifies her. she'd rather have him always as her partner than risk a romantic relationship then it not working out, and end up losing him completely. Booth knows this about her and knows especially with feelings like that, it's important to take it slow and give her time to process. there were better ways he could have slowly introduced the idea to her that would have allowed her to gather the evidence she needed and consider the idea of actually being together. the hurt on each of their faces always gets me because neither is really happy but Brennan is just so scared of losing him. when she asks if they can still be partners, i've seen some people take this as her being selfish. in my mind, it's again because she was terrified of losing him. she turned him down because of that fear but now she's worried that by doing that she's lost him anyway. no matter how much it hurts him, he could never say no either because on some level he does understand her thoughts and reasoning. again this episode is so well done and perfect for the hundredth. the flashbacks were so cute and the ending leaves the question of where their partnership goes next and how they'll move on. it's also so clear how familiar the writers and actors were with the characters because everything was so true to them even if it hurt us as viewers to watch.

a note about my top 3: these episodes are ones that when I first watched them, I could not stop thinking about after. the day after i first watched these i ended up rewatching all of these episodes because of how much they were stuck in my head. even now, i think about them at least twice a week. they altered my brain chemistry at this point and are my most watched episodes (5 times each)

3. the past in the present/ the future in the past (season 7, episode 13/season 8, episode 1)

okay, i know this is technically 2 episodes, but since they are connected and are direct continuations of each other, i'm counting it as 1. i don't think i've ever been more emotionally distraught or stressed watching an episode of Bones as i was the first time i watched these. Pelant took it too far framing Brennan for murder. i don't think we talk enough about how Brennan basically had to abandon Booth, something she swore she would never do, in order to save herself from jail. she also had to rely heavily on her father to keep her and Christine safe from the cops. because if Brennan had been caught, there's no way they would have been able to prove her innocence. She really had to put a lot of trust in Max, something she's had trouble doing since he reentered her life but I think this situation really cements and reestablishes their relationship. Booth having to watch the love of his life drive away with his kid not knowing where they're going or how to keep them safe is so hard because that's how he views his entire role for them. Brennan also having to leave him behind with the same thoughts on top of the risk of jail is devastating. let me also just say, when i started the season 8 episode, i was expecting a mini time jump of a few weeks. when i saw 3 months later flash on the screen, i had to pause and take a moment because i was sobbing. but that reunion scene was everything i could've wanted and more. her also finally being able to come home and have her name cleared was so sweet. seeing everyone, embrace her being back even before she was cleared and their need to protect her fits their found family so well. i was also so thankful to see her brown hair come back haha. i do wish we could have seen a little more of what her life looked like on the run, however, i believe these episodes and storyline are perfect and really had such an impact on Brennan and Booth. this is the best season finale i've seen and i genuinely didn't know how they were going to wrap it up, and still feel the same anxiety each time i watch. i loved it and the effect it has on Brennans character in season 8.

2. two bodies in the lab (season 1, episode 15)

this is the episode that officially had me hooked on Bones so i have a soft spot for it in my heart. after this, I knew i would be watching every episode after and loving it. there are so many good moments in this episode and the entire thing is 10/10. hot-blooded being b&b's song is introduced in this and them dancing together is always so sweet to watch. we also really see Booth's protectiveness over Brennan come out by not letting her out of his site and breaking out of the hospital to save her. backtracking a little, i love when he's trying to interrogate Brennan's date but she is just not having it and is acting like he's not even there. the explosion scene was so unexpected and i always think about what would've happened if it had been Brennan or if Booth hadn't even been there, to begin with. it's also always so tense seeing each of them slowly figure out that it's Kenton and that Brennan is in danger. it's one of the few times i feel like we see Brennan genuinely scared because her and Booth's partnership was so new, she didn't have the faith and trust in him yet as she does in later seasons, for example, aliens in a spaceship. she also had no reason to believe Kenton was dangerous prior so why would Booth even be worried about her or looking for her, not to mention he was also in the hospital. Booth realizing and convincing Hodgins to break him out of the hospital and ignoring all the serious injuries he has just to save her, really sets the groundwork for their whole partnership. her genuine fear combined with him getting there just in time always makes me emotional. and then him comforting her and the way she just falls into his embrace (first time we see them hug ahhh). then when she realizes he's still hurt, her concern is immediately on him. i think the ending scene was also perfect for the episode with her finding a reason to cancel her date in order to spend more time with him in the hospital. overall, this episode is so good for early b&b and sets the tone for their relationship growth.

honorable mentions: the harbringers in the fountain, wannabe in the weeds, blackout in the blizzard, man in the morgue, recluse in the recliner, end in the beginning

1. the shot in the dark (season 8, episode 15)

my all-time favorite episode of bones <3. personally, i think this episode is directly connected to Brennan proposing to Booth in the season 8 finale. first, of course, we had to start with some angst and have Booth and Brennan get into an argument. leading Brennan to go to the lab (her old safe space) and end up being shot. Booth decides he has to see her because he misses her, and finds her passed out and bleeding. his panic and worry for her always gets me and the way it lasts until she wakes up. i love all the soft moments between them of him constantly holding her hand or all the forehead kisses (see above). to me, those are small moments that really show the love he holds for her and that he is her home. now onto Brennan's dream or near-death reality where she has conversations with her mom. i absolutely loved this and think it really explains so much about Brennan's character from the beginning of the series until now. i also loved seeing the mother-daughter interaction. it's revealed that the last words Brennan ever heard from her mom before her disappearance was "use your head. be rational. don’t let your heart lead you. use your brain." Brennan of course held onto that like a lifeline because that's all she had. it leads to her hyper-logical and rational persona. it also meant she kept her distance from deeper relationships with others and lead with her brain over her heart, compartmentalizing over feeling emotions. her mom then gives her new advice, again the last thing before Brennan wakes up from her final surgery. she says "it’s time for you to find some of that little girl that you locked away so deep inside yourself. because, it’s not about surviving anymore. it’s about flourishing. it’s about living a full life.” and i believe, this let Brennan let go of that remaining distance, hesitancy, and fear of all the things little Brennan wanted. she now feels safe to open herself up to marriage and relying on other people instead of her hyper independence. this is what i think leads to Brennan proposing to Booth, something she swore she wouldn't do as recently as the same season. having that interaction with Christine healed the still open wounds from her 15-year-old self and enabled her to take that step. overall, this episode adds a lot to Brennan's character development and is an intense but such good episode to watch. i wish i had a specific reason why it's my favorite, but i just love it so much and think that it's a masterpiece and beautifully told and shown.

The mouses mind tunneled as he scooped Marian up, putting her in the backseat of the car and getting in speeding off, he felt so tired yet so awake, he laughed to himself as he drove around not knowing where to go

Not to Goofys he had the Grandkids this week, Donald was off in Europe for some Disney Paris thing, can't even think of Minnie the reason he was like this. His mind continued to spiral as he laughed again,

Minerva had up and disappeared, tossing the baby at him and taking off, leaving him to juggle a new baby along with the rest of his responsibilities, two toons popped into his mind and he instantly started heading to their place

I hope they're home, please be home his mind begged,

Marian suddenly started crying in the backseat. As he whipped around the corner, he slammed a hand into the steering wheel, snapping

“Be quiet!” it just made her cry more

Focus don't focus on her focus on getting there focus, relief filled him as he saw the drive, stopping at the security booth the woman gave him a look, before just letting the mouse in, not wanting to ask questions as he drove up to the main house, stepping out of the car walking up and ringing the bell as his daughter cried from the car, he felt frustration at the end of his rope, as he covered his ears

She was another responsibility, another thing he had to care for this would shatter the stay perfect mindset Disney had about him, oh how much trouble he might be in, he was so caught up in his frazzled thoughts he jumped at a gentle hand on his shoulder Daffy must've heard the child screaming, he was over by the car, meeting the worried eyes of one Bugs Bunny he croaked

“I can't I can't-” he felt his throat tightening, his breathing picking up as everything tunneled, he grabbed his ears again,

“Woah Mick, come here cinderfella,” he didn't register himself even being picked up by the rabbit, let alone the look of deep concern that Daffy and him had shared, or the whisper of,

“He drove her here with no car seat just laid in the back” the mouse felt like everything was spinning and before he knew it the world went black,

“Oh Tex” Bugs caught the mouse as he about fell out of his arms fainting, the baby was still screaming, face somehow red,

Daffy was ever patient and with the strongest parental streak Bugs had ever seen in a toon, the duck marched into their home murmuring only comforts as he headed to the kitchen to get he a bottle, while his husband took Mickey to one of their guest rooms,

“Oh Michael dear, what have ya gotten up to?” the rabbit asked the unconscious mouse as the toon laid him onto the bed before tucking him in,

Bugs was concerned at the dark rings underneath his longtime friends eyes like he hadn't been getting enough sleep, the hair that normally was neatly swept back and held down with an obscene amount of gel was miskempt and frazzled. Bugs deciding to watch the other until he woke up, he sat in the armchair in the corner,

He wasn't sure when he'd dozed off or how long it had been, but a groaning made him jolt up as the others' eyes fluttered open,

“There's those beautiful ambers,” he gently teased as the Disney toon tried sitting up but he forced him to stay down,"Nuh uh doc you lay right there, what ya pulled last night needs explained before you get more shut eye, ye look worse then Kim Kardashian without her self tanner,”

“But I have work” he tried protesting as the rabbit shook his head, not amused at the workaholic attitude of the mouse, however Daffy with a smug look on his beak walked in tossing a phone on the bed, judging by the case that was Disney themed he knew who's it was,

“Should really not have yer pasthword as yer daddies birthday, but I called Iger for ya, tried yellin at me bout getting you back in but I stuck it to em! Ye got a week,” He preened as Bugs kissed him on the cheek, the mouse looking stunned,

"They've never agreed, how- before interrupting himself looking around a worried and horrified expression on his face,

“Oh Dad, Marian!” He tried scrambling up, Bugs pushing him back as Daffy again was grinning, he turned to show the baby mouse tucked in his arm sound asleep,

“So that's this little cuties name,” he tickled her under her chin as the baby yawned kicking a foot out, the rabbit smiling towards the pup before whipping around to the mouse with narrowed eyes

“Ye are starting to have a track record with kids Mick an I don think I like it, you drove up here with her not in a carseat” he hissed dangerously,

To the Rabbits surprise, the mouse rolled on his back, tears pricking in his eyes as he began crying, breaking down again,

“I fucked up Bugs, I fucked up with Eleanor and now Minervas dumped Marian on me and just left, I thought I could handle it but I have just so much, so fucking much! And when Disney finds out about her,”

His breathing was picking up again as he spiraled once more, his hands flew to his eyes as he rubbed them with the heels of his hands,

” I am so dead, this will shatter everything, everything they built around me. At least Eleanor they could write off as my niece, in the modern era there's no way! People would sniff it out so fast,"

Instantly, Bugs gently tried to pull the mouses hands away from his face, especially as he began scratching,

“Easy Mickey, 5 things remember”, taking a deep breath trying to get the other to follow, he was about to say it again, when he heard

“I hear you” croaked out,”I can't taste anything, I feel your glove on your hand its a soft yet course texture, I smell the perfume that Daffy wears”

“Good” he coaxed taking a deep breath in ”In and out,”

He felt relief as the other took a deep breath and copied him, the rabbit looked to his husband as the Duck signed

Going to the kitchen to get Marian her bottle, love you

He nodded, signing back

Love you too

Before turning back as finally the toon's hands fell away from his face, worry definitely flashed through Bugs mind as he spotted bloodshot eyes, he'd seen the mouse at his worse before but not to this level, as he croaked,

“I'm surprised Eleanor hasn't marched in here to kick my ass out.” making the rabbit snort,

“Even if she was here, I wouldn't let her Doc, but she's off for 2 weeks over in Japan for some modeling and tour around gig. You are in a state of mental crisis ye haven't been getting sleep, you did something so unbelievably outta character as endangering Marian like that. You are taking the week to relax,"

"But Marian needs-" the Warner snorted interrupting,

"Daf thrives off taking care of the kids, you just focus on yerself Mick, even parents need a break. Please just sleep," the mouse didn't know why, he wanted to fight to keep pushing but the toons gentle pressure on his chest to keep him laying down was soothing and he found himself feeling the exhaustion,

"Alright but just 5 more minutes" he trailed off slipping back into sleep almost as soon as his eyes shut,

The Warner pulled up the blankets and gently patted his friends back before standing up, he pulled the curtains shut and walked out closing the door behind himself, going towards the kitchen he was amused to find Daffy playing with Marian in the living room as he came down the stairs

"And this little piggys name is Porky and he owes Daffy 50 dollars" Bugs rolled his eyes fondly as he snorted, making the duck look at him,

"What's so funny rabbit? it's the truth, and if he doesn't pay it, he is gonna go wee wee wee,"

"Sure Doc," he replied as he sat next to them smiling as Marian turned her head, he offered a finger and she gripped on,"Hi, little mouse, whatcha up to scamp?"

She kicked her feet out yawning as she let go and brought her splayed hand to her chest looking around with wide eye

"She's so curious, always looking around,"

That made the lagomorph smile,and say in a baby voice

"Maybe wonder mouse is just in awe of the big wide world," As he playfully tugged on a foot causing her to whine,

"I know he's a bully," he heard his husband quip, the rabbit giving a teasing glare towards him for it

She began to whine, mouthing her hand Bugs stood knowing from their own kids what that meant,

" Getting hungry, aren't we Doc? Dont worry, I gotcha kiddo" he walked into the Kitchen pulling open a cupboard, "Now we should have Yep!"

He pulled down the can of open formula they had from when their Granddaughters Max and Yakkos daughters Lillian and Blair stayed over, along with a bottle

Daffy rushing in holding Marian out as he finished up, he went to ask what was wrong when he smelled it,

"Oh dear" he sat the bottle down in the warmer, reaching under the sink to grab the bath basin, as his husband tackled peeling the infant out of her now soiled onsie and the absolutely decimated diaper,

"Oh Tex kid, you really tried showin up our Eldest with yours," the baby just whining and fussing uncomfortable as the Duck laid her down in the basin"Yes Yes we know, one second sweet mouse,"

Thoughts on Uprising ep14 “Tagged”

- note: we are now in Unknown Territory, for me! I have not watched any episodes past this point! all I know is what I’ve seen chatter about; that’s it!! SO LET’S GET STARTED.

- cold open: I see we have a team of feral dogs libertarian street artists making trouble in Argon! good thing they got away from the cops, at least?? (in re: feral dogs: Night Vale references? anyone? anyone?)

- “my fanclub strikes again” “you mean my fanclub” Tron are you being SASSY??? I agree with Beck, this is an improvement!!

- I get the sense from this conversation that Beck is still a little testy about his encounter with Cyrus, hence his insistence on bringing the street artists into the fold. Tron is advising caution, but I think Beck is feeling a little stretched thin by all this Renegade stuff and wants some, y’know, help. can’t say I blame the kid.

- then we cut to Paige dealing with a bomb threat on a train and it is lowkey kind of hilarious how she shoves the bomb squad aside and fucking opens the bomb herself—like girl!!!!! we have the bomb squad for a reason!!!!!!! STOP. thank god it’s just a paint bomb, cause she would’ve been derezzed instantly if it wasn’t.

- then Beck catches up with the artists three and basically does to them what Tron did to him; poses as a Black Guard and questions them and then reveals himself to be “Tron” aka the Renegade. also the subtitles totally gave away Mara’s role in the Jolly Tricksters, which… boo. but I love Beck’s obvious shock when he sees her; he was not counting on that! also Mara kind of flirting with “Tron” makes me (and Beck) uncomfortable…..

- meanwhile back at Tron’s, Beck tries to feel out why Tron chose him and also tries to suss out what, if anything, Tron will tell him about the Stranger/Cyrus. (again, not sure Cyrus actually introduced himself in the previous episode; I think I was too busy cussing to actually remember….) anyway, Beck wants Tron to tell him about Cyrus, but Tron is apparently pretending that chapter of his life DID NOT HAPPEN. (also Beck’s weird wrist circuits are still freaking me out………. hope they don’t prove significant in the future……)

- back in the main plot (though I’m surprised that this episode is ALL A-plot! no charming sideplot required, apparently!): Beck gets the Jolly Tricksters to do a distraction so he can sneak in and get some intel from Tesler’s ship. he’s in and out with no trouble, but then: trouble arrives!! in the form of Moog and Rasket who want to put a tag on Tesler’s whole ass ship. Mara is the only one of them with any sense, and she insists on going with the Renegade to get them back.

- so Moog and Rasket (Raskay~~ whatever your name is Rasket) do their big tag, and get fucking caught by Pavel. and taken to a torture chamber, essentially. Pavel’s doing that thing where he swings between silly and deadly serious and it’s a little terrifying. the torture device is horrifying and very much Do Not Want from me, like……… holy shit. and they don’t even shy away from showing it onscreen!!!! WHAT THE FUCK, SHOW. it’s like the creators realized Disney wasn’t gonna do shit to promote their show and just decided to do whatever!!!!!!!! jesus.

- Mara and Beck-as-Renegade save them tho!!! hooray!! and then Beck gives them all an assignment—keep the gate open—that Moog and Rasket immediately give up on and Mara, I can’t believe you thought you could control these two!! my god!!! but she manages to buy time for the Renegade as Beck is fighting Paige (there were some good shots in that fight btw) and they all just barely escape and ooOOF.

- less great that Moog and Rasket are out, and that Beck, as much as he needs Mara, can’t afford to put his friend in danger and essentially pushes her away. sigh.

- and then Beck and Tron have a conversation in PUBLIC ABOUT THIS???? AND TRON DON’T EVEN HAVE HIS FACE COVERED???????? the FUCK are you doing Tron???? GODDDDD.

- that said the coda of Mara doing another tag is glorious, and I hope we see more of her efforts towards revolution in the future. Beck is absolutely right: she really truly believes in the cause, and if (who she thinks is) Tron telling her he doesn’t need her doesn’t make her give up, then nothing will.

- all in all: fun little romp of an episode, and a very nice breather after the sheer fuck-inducing intensity of the previous episode.
