What if…?
So, me and my partner were talking about this recently and it meant the idea got solidified in my head.
(PSA: I am not a follower of the X-men and so I can’t comment specifically on any loopholes which might exist in their part of this)
What if..? Captain America was tasked with liberating concentration camps.
So, Captain America - the symbol of America and freedom and all that* - why would they not have wanted him to be liberating actual people who are suffering.
Picture him carrying multiple incredibly weak people out of wooden huts. Him sitting with a bowl spoon feeding a little kid. Him saluting and respecting the political prisoners who were trying to end the holocaust.
Then in the process of this he learns about Department X still being functional and together with his other super powered wartime buddies, Namor and Wolverine, (there might be others but I know these two) and the howling commandos, he goes rogue and they infiltrate a department x facility.
In the facility they encounter a weird number of highly trained girls who they struggle to fight off. While struggling to win against one of the older girls who is clearly a very good fighter, Cap’s shield is thumped by something in the middle, something that turns out to be a metal fist.
He looks up into the eyes of Bucky - who, at this stage is not yet having his mind wiped frequently and who recognises Steve straight away.
He calls out Natalia followed by some words in another language. The girl Steve was fighting yells out to the others, most of whom respect her enough to stop.
All personnel of the Red Room are arrested. The girls are all taken to be cared for by the Red Cross.
Bucky rejoins his best friend and convinces the group that the feisty Natalia has to come with them, that he has fallen deeply in love with her and she would be hugely useful to them.
The new team carries on their work, bringing down the sadistic SS with the help of Bucky and Natasha - using their language skills and Natasha’s espionage talents.
Due to this being a mission from the beginning the team were able to get to many camps faster and liberate before damage was done to the same levels.
This meant that Jakob, Edie and Ruth Eisenhardt did not die and Max Eisenhardt was liberated from the Warsaw Ghetto alongside his parents and sister, preventing the eventual turn into Magneto as a villain but instead being able to see the good in his rescue and become a better person.
It also meant that Gabrielle Heller (the mother of legion) and Anna Kapplebaum were saved from their experiences in the camps faster and it prevented Dr Miklos Kozlov, the freedom fighter from being sentenced to work in soviet atomic testing.
Lastly it meant that Steve got home, that he was able to marry Peggy and was able to see Bucky get married. It meant Rebecca Barnes saw her brother again and got to see him happy.
Due to Natasha having been used less as a test subject, they were able to have a daughter, named after Bucky’s sister, and got to watch her grow up and play alongside Steve’s three kids.

He has zero thoughts in his head... and I love that for him. My brother and I both agreed that he'd unironically listen to Caramelldansen so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I feel like these look wonky, but I really like how Gambit looks here despite it lol. Just wanted to sketch this and get it out of my head. Ever since the moment I saw this on Pinterest... It's been rotating around in my head like a microwave.
Don't talk to me about the missiles. Anyway, here is the original post and the close ups! VVV

so I saw this article today
Tumblr media
That says "5 years later, Sony still doesn't understand why it's biggest spider-verse hit worked"
And the article mainly talks about how the Venom films are self contained and don't try to be films in a cinematic universe. They have a clear identity. Yes, there is no Spider-Man in them, and that's okay because they knew what they wanted to do without him when they made the films. They even say at one point "the Venom films are not for everyone, but at least they know what they are"
This is something I personally have talked about many times. And I've seen other Venom fans talk about. And what I'm seeing MCU fans starting to say more and more now. The movies work when they have a clear story and identity and don't feel interchangeable or formulaic.
You could take any Disney plus marvel show or 'phase 4' movie and switch the characters around and the story would probably stay largely the same, or at least feel the same. We all know what I mean right? The characters all make quips like Tony Stark no matter if it is in character or not. They talk and act the same.
But the Venom films? You couldn't take Tom Hardy's Eddie and swap him with the mcu cast. He acts so differently than 90% of them, he wouldn't fit in. He's fucking weird and unhinged and is very much Tom Hardy's brain child.
.
Also the Venom movies worked because queer people liked them. The films were hugely popular with LGBT audiences but you didn't hear that from me 👀👀👀👀

Funny scenario that means absolutely nothing
Batman, showing DNA results:
Captain Marvel, a very much adult looking hero, seeing the match to his very much a 12 year old civilian identity:
Batman:
Captain Marvel: I can explain—
Batman: No need, I can imagine you’d want some amount of secrecy to avoid confusion when your younger self exists concurrently in the timeline
Captain Marvel: ???
Batman: I’ve worked with Booster Gold and other time travelers to know it can be somewhat awkward at best and precarious at worst with two of the same people exiting at the same time when one time travels
Captain Marvel: ?!?
Booster Gold: Welcome to the time traveling heroes club my man!

AU where after 12yo Billy’s identity gets revealed to the JL, Bruce Wayne gives his number to Billy for emergencies or any other situation where he might need an adult (like a get-out-of-jail free card, covering rent, signing a permission slip, advice, anything.) No strings attached. He won’t act controlling. Just in case, you know?
And for a while it’s never used because Billy would rather take his own eye out than ask an adult for help. Until Billy realizes there are a lot more benefits to this than he thought. Now whenever Uncle Dudley is at work and Constantine is too busy running from the magical authorities or (more importantly) he doesn’t want either to know what he’s doing, Bruce is the adult he calls.
-
Cap, over comms: Hey Bruce, I need advice.
Bruce, already in the zeta tube: Which villain is it?
Cap: You have style, right? What should I wear to the school dance? Because Dudley said a ruffled tuxedo shirt is “a classic” but it sounds ugly and-
Bruce:
Bruce: Oh, it’s that kind of advice.
-
Bruce: *posing as Billy’s guardian for class registration day*
PTA Mom: Hello sir, is this your son?
Bruce: *looks at Billy*
Billy: *nodding his head*
Bruce: Yes
-
Billy: Hey Bruce, can you buy something for me?
Bruce: What is it?
Billy: *slowly hands Bruce a copy of The Conjuring*
Bruce:
Bruce: Billy, I don’t think you should—
Billy: You promised :(
Bruce: *whispering* fuck
-
Cap, over comms: Uhh, Bruce? Do you know Sanskrit?
Bruce: Yeah, why? Is it for a school assignment?
Cap: …Don’t tell Constantine.
Bruce:
Cap: I got kidnapped by an ancient cult, and I need you to help me escape.
Bruce: *crushes the mug of coffee he’s holding*
Bruce: Oh?

Imma need to read about street kids Jason and Billy meeting because these two are on opposite ends of the homeless twelve years old spectrum and by that I mean I can't believe Jason was the one who got accidentally trafficked*:
Jason: *successfully steals 3/4 tires of the batmobile, says "who says I took'em" and "try and catch me you big boob", hits Batman with a tire iron, successfully escapes capture for a couple of blocks, really makes him work for it.*
Billy: *is accosted by a stranger in a turncoat at night asking him what he's doing here*: "I am homeless and I have no money so I sleep in the subway because it is warm." /The stranger: "follow me."/ Billy: *immediately fucking does.*
Like, if I were Shazam I too would be giving Billy godlike abilities, because with these preservation instincts that looks like about the only way this kid is gonna live through the winter.
*I'm talking about Ma'gunn, pretty sure that counts as child trafficking.

RDJ as Doctor Doom is the most blatant embarrassing cash grab I've ever seen in the history of cinema I think. They might as well have slapped a giant sign on their Fantastic Four film which says 'I don't have any confidence in this film' because that is the ONLY reason they have cast him as Doom and it's so obvious that even MCU fans can see it clear as day.

“Systemic Approach (Part Two),” Avengers Unlimited (Vol. 1/2022), Infinity Comic, #64.
Writer: Mat Groom; Penciler and Inker: Caio Majado; Colorist: Pete Pantazis; Letterer: Joe Sabino
#Marvel#Marvel comics#Marvel 616#Avengers Unlimited#Avengers Unlimited Infinity Comic#Moon Knight comics#latest release#Moon Knight#Marc Spector#Jake Lockley#Steven Grant#Captain America#Steve Rogers#hey Mr. Groom excuse me but how did you get access to inside my head because this is pretty much exactly what I could have wanted in life#because don’t get me wrong I love Mr. MacKay’s run but one thing I’ve been missing is just Steven - Jake - and Marc interacting#(and I was hoping that the name of this arc was in reference to the Moon Knight system but I hadn’t dared hope too much)#which means there’s so much I love here#love Jake’s jacket and the acknowledgement that the people he mingles with are in no way lesser than Steven’s socialite#or Marc’s superhero ilk but rather the people who often just need some help (whether that be through Steven’s funds/business acumen#Jake’s hands-on social support#or Marc’s /very/ hands-on support method of boxing villains over the head) but could be the least likely to get it#and !!!!! an acknowledgement that the system is a strength and an invaluable asset to Moon Knight work !!!!#and that it was Khonshu’s influence that was largely the problem as opposed to the system’s neurodivergence !!!!#and an acknowledgement from Cap of all people! I WEEP#it just means so much to me: Marc getting some support both from the system and from Cap#as well as how in character this is for Cap#as some of my favorite moments of his are where he reaches out to those deemed by others too ‘unstable’ or ‘unreliable’ to ever amount to#much in the grand scheme of things and he asks them to be Avengers#recognizing what invaluable talents they posses#could the cynical say this reads like a Saturday morning psa? sure but this is an infinity comic with Cap. Enjoy it for what it is akshsksj
