I finished reading The Neon Void a while ago and it’s honestly became its own hyperfixation to me now!

And I’ve finally found the confidence too ask a question! >:D

How much does Senior Hueso know about what happened? Does he even know Leo is alive yet and what would be his reaction too finding out? :3

I can just imagine the turtles walking into the place with Leo, and Hueso turning around too great them only too get jumped scared be thier presumed dead brother!

Also how would Leo do in more populated areas similar to Senior Hueso’s place Run of the Mill? Would he be nervous or none the wiser about it?

And I have a lot of thoughts on Hueso!! I like to think that after the invasion attempt, and after Hueso learns what happened... He'll be dealing with his own grief too. After all, Leo was the guy who not only helped cleared his name and got him off the Hidden City's Most Wanted list, but he was also the guy who helped him reconnect with his estranged criminal brother AND helped him with local crime bosses who threatened the peace of his restaurant.

Whether intentional or not, and while it had been a lot of trouble at the time, Leo's actions had impacted Hueso's life drastically for the better. And when he hears what Leo did... Learns that he's gone... He'll be devastated. But more importantly, Leo's brothers were beyond hurt-- and they needed help more than ever before. Hueso knows how important Leo's brothers were to him, even if it had been a passing comment at the time of one of their adventures. After the invasion attempt, Hueso becomes one of the adult figures who turns his attention towards the children who saved the world... and needed the emotional support in the aftermath.

That being said, I purposefully made nods to Hueso at the ofrenda because I love to believe he helped the boys build it. Offering what little comfort he could in giving Mikey, Raph, Donnie, and everyone else, and a means of expressing grief. I sincerely believe that after the invasion attempt, the Hamatos were more than just customers to Hueso now. He'd always give them the care they deserved whenever they visited, though that was somewhat rare after the invasion. (I also like to think he'd catch Mikey at the ofrenda at times and send him home with special pizza pies.)

Though in Rise fashion it would be absolutely comical if Leo just. Showed up one day and scared the crap out of Hueso-- but I'd think that the boys would give Hueso a heads up prior to coming. (The emotional pain of Hueso being told but not believing until he sees Leo is far more delicious to me hehe)

As for how Leo would feel in a more populated place? well. hehe. ;3c

Hi! I want to ask about what evidence and implications there is behind Ritsuko being a lesbian. I remember going through your blog before and seeing that you had some posts mentioning it. I just want to understand her better in this aspect, so I thought it would be better to ask, since I'm not finding much on this topic when I search for it. Hopefully this makes sense. Thank you for responding if you do :).

There's more to this than one might expect.

In episode 1, they animate Ritsuko undressing while she thinks out loud about Misato, which, to me, is definitely suggestive! Not to mention her going to meet Misato in her bathing suit and getting in her personal space like that.

2. In episode 21, the scenes with college-aged Ritsuko and how she talks about Misato and Kaji just reek of jealousy. Remember that Kaji met Misato AFTER Ritsuko did. And in her letters to her mom, Ritsuko mentioned how nobody wanted to talk to her due to how prestigious her family name was. Ritsuko was also the first person Misato spoke to after being mute. Ritsuko, understandably, thought that there was something very special between her and Misato. The show doesn't tell us anything explicitly about Ritsuko's childhood, but this fact suggests that it was very lonely and that friends, let alone anything more, were difficult to impossible to come by. Ritsuko also says to her mom that Misato having sex with Kaji for ~A WHOLE WEEK~ was shocking. Obviously that's an irresponsible thing to do, but Ritsuko mentioning this also suggests that she already had some thoughts on Misato's sexuality, which is...hmm.

3. Additionally, Naoko tells Ritsuko that she was always "boy-shy," and that it's because she didn't have a father, which is a classic homophobic card used against lesbians.

4. Ritsuko likes to tease and needle Misato, especially about her dating life. This is something that some people like to do when they have a romantic or sexual interest in someone. Certainly part of this is Ritsuko trying to make herself feel better about her relationship with Gendo, which is in and of itself very pointed considering...everything about their relationship!

5. There are a few scenes where Ritsuko protests against Gendo (in episodes 2 and 17, iirc). And then there are scenes where Maya protests against Ritsuko...taking up the same positions Ritsuko took against Gendo previously. The mirroring of the roles (dissenting vs. maintaining), which originally appeared in the context of canonically sexual relationship (Gendo and Ritsuko's), suggests that Ritsuko and Maya's relationship is also of a sexual nature, at least in part.

6. Does she...actually show attraction to/interest in men? She met Gendo when she was in middle school, and is shown ruminating over this fact in episode 23. The logical implication is that she was groomed, and therefore did not enter this relationship of her own volition. Even half her life later, in her early 30s, she still lacks any agency. And in addition to having groomed her, he's also her boss and by the end of the series, has shown active contempt and hatred towards her.

I know you posted the thing abt the periods and eva and rgu days ago but it is interesting. Everything at ohtori is filtered through like 5 layers of metaphor and fairytailification before its shadow hits platos cave wall whereas in eva the blood and guts and bodies are so very very real and are likely to end up all over everything. Probably some more advanced comparison to be done here but not by me.

No, I think that's a great observation!

In eva you have the contrast between machinery and meat and at its most extreme being reduced to a warm body (Rei), then in Utena it's as if everyone is a paper thin apparition, the realities of the human body are not given any attention, despite all the very suggestive imagery and outright sexual nudity.

Anthy exists at the most extreme end here just as Rei does in eva. Both Anthy and Rei are vessels, mere symbols, yet Rei's existence as a body is emphasized whereas Anthy having a body is more like it's almost a mere coincidence.

I'm drawn to the scene in end of eva where Rei's arm falls off and the scene in the elevator to the dueling arena where Anthy straight up vanishes. I feel like those are both very illustrative regarding how each show handles the body.

I had an idea for Mafia AU. Weiss and Winter Schnee. Sisters on opposite sides of the law learn that their father IS responsible for the hit on Jaune. The Arcs leaving have hurt his bottom line and he can’t abide it. Through different approaches the two sisters learn Jacques has hired “The Scorpion” an assassin that can’t be swayed once he accepts a contract. It is a religious matter to him. How do they respond and would the head of the Schnee family survive their response?

Weiss was having the time of her life tonight. Under the strobing black lights of the club her neon pink and yellow twin trail styled hair, and form fitting shirt and hot pants glowed brightly. The world renown singer and heir to the Schnee Family was loving the anonymity her outfit and acts were giving her.

In fact she was currently getting very up close and personal with a very energetic and flirty cat faunus, dressed in similarly bright colors. A quick thought about the young man her father had betrothed her to passed through her mind, making her feel even better about sharing these... intimate dances with Neon.

The betrothal was just another attempt by her father to bring more wealth and power under Schnee influence. The Vasilias were fairly powerful in their own right, and if linked to the Schnee via a marriage between Weiss and Neptune... all the better. Which was why Weiss had been paying more attention to her father's actions... and the family's public and private books.

Which was why she was risking meeting her black sheep of a sister, Winter. Weiss still didn't fully understand why Winter threw away everything her family could have helped her achieve to struggle and slave for pennies as a SWAT member in the AMPD. Weiss licked her lips when she felt Neon's tail brush her behind while moving to coil about her waist.

"Some one's getting frisky." Weiss purred into Neon's ear as she draped her arms over the slightly shorter woman.

"Do you blame me?" Neon purred right back, while leaning in for a kiss.

Weiss' heart was slamming inside her chest and she lowered her head to meet the beautiful girl's lips, when the world exploded in light.

"AMPD! Everyone on the ground now!"

Neon grabbed Weiss' hand and tried to drag her away, but Weiss refused. This was all part of the plan, to speak with Winter, so she needed to stay. Pulling Neon close, Weiss gave her the kiss she had wanted, and then pressed her forehead to hers.

"I need to stay." Weiss whispered. "If you stay with me, I'll take care of you. But if you want to go... I'll understand."

"You promise?" Neon asked as she slid her hand down from Weiss' wrist and intertwined her fingers with Weiss'

"I promise."

"Down on the ground! Hands on you heads! NOW!"

Thirty minutes later Weiss found herself in an interrogation room. She remained silent as Officer Marrow tried to get her to explain why she was attending a rave in a drug den. Weiss just slid a business card to him. A card with the contact details for Detective Winter Schnee of AMPDs Special Weapons and Tactics Team. Officer Marrow picked up the card.

"Okay, Ms Harlequin." Marrow rose from his seat, knocked on the door twice, and before leaving, "Det Schnee will be with you shortly."

Another twenty minutes later, a rather stern looking woman, entered. Her uniform was pristine, and she radiated an air of authority. She said nothing as she took her seat. Before the door closed she gave a nod to her partner, Detective Elm Ederne, who returned the nod.

The pair sat in silence for a minute before the blinking redlight on the camera stayed off.

"Sister. What is it this time?" Winter spoke with a disinterested tone. "As much as I appreciate you trying to stay in... "

"The girl brought in with me. Neon Katt, can you make sure she is released with me?"

"Why?" Winter cocked an elbow as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Is she special?"

"Just to me." Weiss replied, "As for why I did this..."

"It better not be to ask me to a secret birth..."

"NO!" Weiss snapped. "This is important! Danger to the family important!"

"Weiss?"

"I've been looking at the books, and watching father." Weiss reported to her sister, "He's up to..."

"The bastard is always up to something. Legal or illegal. He's always scheming, and fucking people over."

"Well this will fuck us all, if it means what I think it means." Weiss countered. "I think father has issued a contract. I'm not sure for how much, or on who specifically."

"I'll need more information then that Weiss. You know this."

"There is forty million missing from the accounts."

"Shit."

"I contracted someone, Flynt Coal, know him?"

"Why did you hire a Black Hat hacker?"

"To get into Father's personal systems." Weiss explained, "He did, and he found two names. Arc and Scorpion. Do those..."

"Are you positive!" Winter snapped.

"Yes? Flynt drop-boxed me the time stamped screen shots."

"Fuck!"

"Winter, I don't...."

"Get hold of you friend Flynt and tell to vanish. Then you take Neon, introduce her to Mom and Whitley..." Winter paused. "And then CONVIENCE or COERCE her to take you all to Mistral for a holiday. Understand?"

"I don't but I'll do it." Weiss responded. "Can you tell me what is going on?"

"Father in his stupidity may have just killed us all." Winter growled before standing up, and banging on the door. When it opened. "She knows nothing. Just a stupid girl and her girlfriend looking for a fun time. Cut her and Neon Katt loose."

"Everything okay Winter?" Elm asked. "You look a little... stressed."

"We need to speak to Chief Ironwood."

Ten minutes later, Wiess was desperately sending Flynt a message, through a BBS while dragging Neon with her towards the bullhead pads for Atlas proper.

Sex and sexuality is a prevalent theme in NGE, and especially in EoE. What are your thoughts about this?

I've been sitting on this one (and therefore the other asks in my inbox because I like to do them in order) for a few days to see if I could come up with a nice, coherent answer, but, as always, I can't so I must ramble instead.

One of the things I appreciate about the way sex/ sexuality is addressed in NGE/EoE is how messily and amorally it is portrayed, because I feel like that's very realistic. Clearly, it is important to apply morality to sex in practice (like, getting consent, respecting the sexual boundaries of your relationship(s), etc), but internally it's all a sloppy grey area, and sometimes people are going to do questionable things in moments of weakness (ex. try to hook up with an ex's bff who you don't even get along with because you're drunk and still upset about the breakup). And we see that a lot in Evangelion, as well as the characters' conflicting feelings about it.

For instance, Misato. Do I actually think she was attracted to Shinji? No. I think she cared about him very much as a guardian, but when she didn't know how to comfort him/ encourage him, she turned to offering sex. I read someone saying that she sees sex as a source of comfort due to sleeping with Kaji as a way to get over her father's death, which could be true, but I'm not sure that seems quite right to me. I believe she uses it as a tool in some ways. As an escape in others. And as a way to manufacture emotional connectedness in other instances. Sometimes all at once. And we see that she feels conflicted about it as well, because she's not sure if she loves Kaji or is using him. Then, Queen Daddy issues saw her ward in a bad spot and, with everything going to shit around them, she tries to use sex as a tool to motivate Shinji and also show him that she cares about him (even though it was so incredibly inappropriate 😭). Anyway, for Misato, sex is the cure to the hedgehog's dilemma, I suppose!

And then there's Shinji. The only time he seems able to make any kind of advance towards Asuka is when she is asleep, which I do not think is a sign that he is a predator but more an indicator of how deeply pervasive his inability to open himself up to other people is. It is *symbolic*. It's not okay what he did, but I think we are supposed to see it as a symptom of his own self loathing, and that he wants to reach out and touch people but is too afraid to make the move when they are able to perceive him doing it. Shinji masturbating to Asuka's exposed body at the hospital was obviously wrong, but it also seems like the summary of his relationship with her and the version of himself that exists through her. I'm trying to think how to describe it. i've written and deleted so many things. I don't know. Ugh. When she cannot see him, he can finally reveal how desperate he is for her to be with him. She is the one he seeks out when everything goes to shit, although if she were awake, I don't think he could have been so honest about how much he needed her. But she's in a coma so he is free to beg her to wake up, then, when her robe falls open... you know. It's like he's carrying out his half of a relationship in a bubble, without every offering her the chance to join him. And he hates himself for it, just like he hates himself for what he did in her hospital room. He knows masturbating to her unconscious body was wrong. He knows she is more than just jackoff fuel. He know she deserves to actually be held and loved. But he is immobilized by his fear of rejection and how others see him (and also so unbelievably horny because he's a teenage boy). The kiss between him and Asuka is really unfortunate because if either of them had just given the other any kind of indication that it was special to them in any way, I think things would have gone a lot differently. Shinji believes Asuka was just doing it because she was bored and mad about Kaji being out with Misato (right? Am I remembering the circumstances right?), and then, because Shinji just stood there, Asuka believes that Shinji only let her kiss him because she grabbed his nose and forced him, and not because of any affection for her. They were both too afraid to be honest. Maybe if Asuka had been more patient, Shinji would have closed the space and kissed her. Maybe if Shinji had held her, she wouldn't have run away after, screaming about it being a mistake. Maybe it wouldn't have gotten to the point where the hospital scene played out the way it did.

Which brings me to Asuka, who is the last one I will talk about because I think these three are the ones with the more convoluted attitudes towards sex and also this is already getting long. I think Asuka was really profoundly affected by her father finding and hooking up with another woman while her mother was ill (her mother's doctor, no less). I think it gave her the belief that a woman who is able to provide sex is a woman who will receive loyalty and love. She throws herself at Kaji, an adult who she feels safe with and wants the approval of, because, to her, that is the way to secure his affection. When we first meet her, she shows off how big her boobs got. Could that not be her way of announcing that she is lovable? But Kar, you might say, she freaks out about boys looking at her panties and things. To which I say: Yeah. She's 14. She's putting on a show, just like in everything else she does, trying to prove to everyone that she is worthwhile. Look how artlessly she comes on to both Shinji and Kaji. She wants to be seen as sexy and desirable because to her that's a means to an end, which is making sure people have a reason to want her around and notice her. What she really wants to be cherished. If Shinji had been able to show her that he reciprocated her interest/attraction, then I think there would have been a natural progression in their physical relationship. In closing, Asuka exists in a perpetual state of conflict because she demands love in whatever way she thinks the can obtain it, but she does not actually know what the love she needs looks like. I think if someone simply hugged her and stroked her hair and told her how brave she's been, she would sob for a day and a night.

Whew. And, of course, my thoughts might change after I finish my rewatch and eventually get my hands on the rebuild movies and rewatch in the future, but that's where I am on the subject right now. And I didn't even address Shinji and Kaworu. But, I think that whole thing is pretty straightforward. Kaworu pretty much ignores all of Shinji's reservations and showers him in praise and affection and Shinji goes all heart eyes because it's the first time he's felt wanted and he's bi.

how many endings do you have planned?

Hi r100461! First, thank you again for the reblog; it does mean a lot to me☺️

Now, to answer your question; my writing style is specific, in a way of how Stephen King approaches writing, and that’s, basically, writing spontaneously? Naturally? Life like?

All of those are to say, that I don’t have the whole story planned out. What I can say, is that, at least, three endings are in my mind right now. Mind you, that is the case right now, which means that, later on, I could, potentially, add more. I don’t mind the hassle that comes with it, so yeah, you can expect three endings, or maybe even more. Unfortunately, that’s the most precise answer I can give at the moment😅

But, considering that this is going to be either a duology or a trilogy, yeah, branching with the endings will also play a big part in the continuation of the story.
