Sorry, if I'm being annoying' I'm just excited to have someone who likes to talk about Teen Wolf but I think the way I view Derek stems from the fact that I stared watching Teen Wolf when season 3 premiered and then went back and watched season 1 & 2. Derek from season 3 is different from season 1 Derek, I think that's one of the biggest reason why it wasn't my immediate ship.
Also, Stydia was the big ship in season 3 and that was the ship I latched on to and now I wonder how different things would have been if I had started watching it during season 1. I probably would've shipped both but had a better understanding of Derek.
Don’t apologize! I love asks and I love talking about teen wolf. You’re not being annoying in the slightest.
Ok so suddenly I understand a lot more of why you always viewed Derek as an adult lol, because he was a veritable mess in the earliest seasons and I personally wouldn’t trust him to boil water, let alone adult ANYTHING.
I have done an analysis on this before (if you want to read more about it the post is here, and it clarifies a similar issue, which is Derek’s inconsistent age in the show), but basically the thing is the show writers hadn’t planned on Derek being as important as he turned out, so they left many details unclear. As the seasons progressed, they realized what they wanted to do with him, but by then he was already established as something else (ie, he was viewed as younger) so they retconned him. That’s why you see a visible shift between seasons 2 and 3.
I love stydia, but I never saw them as anything but friends. That’s because sometimes I latch onto a ship and just don’t see anything else, but that’s merely a me thing and doesn’t invalidate stydia shippers. Sterek has just always felt more natural to me, because the progression of their relationship has a lot of undertones most relationships in teen wolf don’t have. It plays into the show vs tell that Jeff Davies loves to use, whether you view it as platonic or romantic. They have incredible chemistry, and that was clear from s1 unlike with stydia, so that’s probably why I didn’t ship them instead.
Then there’s also the ton of sterek subtext in s3. It’s the natural culmination of their relationship. Seasons 1 and 2 are much more obvious about them (because in the earliest seasons their romance was still an option they were considering) and the writers purposely tried not to give them many scenes together after that. The actors even talk about how they wanted more scenes, or how many of their scenes were cut from the final episodes. That’s on purpose, and it’s why it doesn’t feel like they have much relevance unless you’re looking for it.
Regarding Derek, the first two seasons are key to understand his character. He mellows out in the later seasons as part of his new role of being a mentor and being sided with the adults, but he was very different at first. That’s mainly due to unresolved trauma and being constantly under pressure. You can see how he slowly starts to heal as the seasons progress.
This got way too long, so I apologize if it’s annoying or overwhelming. Hope it helps, and don’t hesitate to shoot me an ask or a message if you want to talk more about teen wolf! I swear I do talk about things other than sterek lol.

Ryan Condal you are so fucking stupid and I hate you so much.
Because how are you going to sit there and say Alicent recounted a fabricated version of Blood and Cheese to historians to make Rhaenyra look bad and that’s why you changed it.
The very same Alicent that you say has been humbled this season and betrayed her sons to help Rhaenyra.
How are you so stupid that you can’t even keep her characterization the same in your own brain when you rationalize your butchering of the story you were tasked with adapting. Which one is it? Is Alicent the humbled Rhaenyra helper who wanted to doom her male relatives. Or is Alicent the bitter Rhaenyra hater who destroyed her reputation in the histories. SHE CANNOT BE BOTH RYAN.
And if this is some weak attempt at saying Alicent will change again…FUCK YOU. Because you threw out her season 1 characterization completely for this season 2 humbled Alicent arc. Only to apparently throw it all out AGAIN for a queen in chains who hates Rhaenyra and will ruin her reputation arc for seasons 3 and 4. In which case WHAT WAS THE REASON. WHY DID YOU EVEN DO THIS. JUST KEEP THE CHARACTER CONSISTENT
I’m just saying. That Ryan Condal is not even capable of figuring out who he wants Alicent to be. So he just uses his weird misinterpretations and hatred of Alicent to excuse every bizarre and stupid creative decision he makes. And all that does is make Alicent a character with absolutely zero consistency. Because she is Rhaenyra’s best friend, then she’s Rhaenyra’s biggest hater, then she’s Rhaenyra’s supporter again (the toasting scene???), then she’s a usurper, then she helps Rhaenyra, then she’s apparently going to hate Rhaenyra all over again and recount fabrications to history. And on and on it goes.
At this point just let Alicent hate Rhaenyra and be done with it. I’m tired

Dragons Rising is too dangerous for us, cause now the writers have proved they care about their characters. Pixal still existing, Kai having screen time again, and finally acknowledging Lloyd is the grandson of God? This is too much power. One has not ever dared get their hopes up in Ninjago, not for anything.
And they're gonna be the death of me specifically, because now the chances that they'll acknowledge Lloyd's dragon heritage aren't at zero anymore.

Figuring out Witcher lore is so hard. You ask a question and there will be three different contradictory answers spread over the book series, and you never know which one is actually the truth because Geralt is a freaking LIAR and cannot be trusted to give exposition.

Fixing history using the power of editing and my editing skills!!
For today we have, New Titans (1980) Issue #100
✨ Wedding Special ✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@robstarblog @robstaryeah pinging yall just in case so that this doesn't get lost in oblivion (It'd be painful since I worked 5 hours non stop on it lol)
I think the most time was taken by the final panel and adding in the finishing touches since I pretty much had to change everything to the pixel level, quite literally lol (I'm serious, I did)
Welp I hope the results were worth it! And with that, another one gets a good ending!!
I kinda didn't add sleeves in the first two panels of the final page because it didn't look good and looked janky with how I was editing it so yeah please ignore that-

The idea that Tommy, a closeted gay man who was desperately trying to fit in in a hyper macho and discriminatory environment, isn't allowed to have any growth from when he was over compensating and was a dick to Chim really pisses me off. He literally had canonical growth to the point he was going for drinks with Chim and Hen in Bobby Begins Again and they got him a fancy leaving cake.
Why isn't he allowed to grow and be better? Because he's white? Because he "gets in the way of buddie"? Because no one is allowed to say and change at all over a decade?
Like this is a queer fandom and I'd bet a lot of money that a ton of people in this fandom said and did things they weren't proud of when they were younger, especially before they came out so they could try and hide it.
I know this is quite a young fandom too but like, it was literally only a decade ago when "gay" was an insult at school and doing anything that could be get you accused of being gay was fucking social suicide. You guys have no idea how lucky you are that people at least get called out for that shit now cause they didn't when I was a kid. I would have done almost anything to just be ignored, let alone accepted, rather than being openly bisexual.
So yeah, I think Tommy is allowed to fucking change as a person because Bobby, Chim and Hen came into his life and allowed him to stop repressing. Stop being such fucking assholes. You aren't any better than him, and frankly the way some of you behave makes the way Tommy acted when he was first in the show look like a fucking saint. Touch some grass.

Hey #GreekMythology tumblr, I want ya’lls help on something :).
So, I’ve been thinking about starting this massive project. Like, would take years and years work of writing and research and sheerly finding the time and motivation for. And as I was thinking about the specifics, I thought: why not bring others into it as well? Because as much as I am interested in a lot of Greek Mythology, there are things that are simply not my interests and might cause writers block and my goal for the project would to be as fun as possible. So, here we are.
What is the project exactly? Well, hopefully, it’ll be a long Ao3 series/fic focusing on the individual perspectives of various figures/events in Greek Mythology arranged in (semi/good enough) chronological order. I personally intend to write for Poseidon in his/my version of the Titanomachy and (maybe) some events that follow, if you want a little bit of an idea on what I’m talking about.
The limits on this are almost completely free, all that I ask are that each of your submissions are one POV only (and by that I mean your main subject’s POV). Why do I say this? I say this because that is what I want this project to look like. It doesn’t matter if it’s First, Second, or Third POV along with all the other variants of those three, my main focus is on the individual experiences of these individuals. Kind of like character studies, if you know what I mean. I’m intending for it to be mostly formal but I will absolutely accept crack admissions that I will probably put into its own series to Separate the Vibes for whoever comes by :).
Ultimately, this is a completely open-ended project that has absolutely no deadline. I’m about to go to bed so I can’t go into too much detail, but if you want to DM me or send any asks, I am completely okay with that and we’ll all flesh out the specifics we go :).
What is my overall purpose? Not only is this project made for my own individual purposes of learning more about the gods and other Greek Mythology writers, but it’s also the chance to spread the word of other writers. I know how hard it is to get specific audiences, especially when you’re shy, so this is a chance for your work to be stumbled upon. Each post on the eventual Ao3 fic will include your socials, how to find you, and your other general works on either ao3, tumblr, wattpad, or other :)
Can you participate even without socials or a tumblr page? Yes you absolutely can :). My asks will always be open to anons and I will do my best to give credit when I eventually post everything :). If you want to post multiple submissions or simply just want a trackable (between works) name to your writing, just sign something at the end. It could be a name, it could be a potential username, I don’t mind at all :)).
How do I submit things? Well, the best way would be to DM me :). I have a personal writing email separate from most things that would be perfect to either share a google docs with or to just send a copy-and-pasted copy of it. Otherwise, I take asks. None of them will be posted unless asked or we’re ready to so it’ll be safe to just drop them off in! It’s also where I take questions :).
Any other things to note? I’d really appreciate some other moderators and editors :). There’d only be like two or three of each and we’d have to know each other decently well before officially starting, but some help would be appreciated! Also, I’d like to keep a working ‘spreadsheet’ of who’s working on what just for people to see what’s going on :). Maybe some people can collaborate or it’ll encourage those niche writers to write :). A third thing is that most questionable stuff is accepted. I’d personally rather not handle all those things other than posting it so it might be a while until I can officially accept (consensual and/or graphic) ✨spicy stuff✨ but, other than that, I’ll take any of it (also, it’s Greek Mythology, almost all of it already happened). If someone’s willing to take over the ✨spicy stuff✨ then please DM me so we can work out the details and see if it’s a nice fit :)
Honestly, that all should be it. The main point is that I’m trying to start up a long-term project on Tumblr and Ao3 about what is essentially Greek Mythology character studies that not only allows for mass communication across a wide audience, but also (hopefully) gets some recognition for the smaller writers :). Feel free to DM me or send me asks with questions but for now, I shall sleep

Overhaul (and partially Tomura) viewing being quirkless as worse than death is kind of just glossed over.
In their return, you'd think a lot villains against OFA would be frustrated that Izuku & All Might were handed their Quirk.
If what you say is correct anon than this has been glossed over so well that I can't even remember it.
When were first introduced to overhaul he held the strong belief that quirks were basically illnesses and mutated diseases that tainted mankind.
Overhaul isn't actually confirmed to hate or like quirkless people and individuals. Now that I think about it overhaul and what he does is actually hypocritical and that's and integral part of his character. To that one anon who compared spinner and amon I think a much more better comparison is amon and overhaul!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would expect overhaul to probably like and tolerate being around quirkless individuals a lot more since they are free of the disease that he claims to be quirks but you can argue that even overhaul sees quirkless individuals as useless seeing his expression as he himself became quirkless due to shigaraki.
I would imagine that overhauls reaction to learning about izuku and his situation would be one where he thinks that izuku has been infected by the disease that is quirks and not him outright hating izuku for formerly being quirkless (that's not saying that he likes izuku quirkless though)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shigaraki on the other hand doesn't cannonically have a problem with quirkless individuals. Like @mikeellee mentions that shigaraki actually uses a lot of quirkless/ pre quirk fashion and stuff. Mikeellee also mentions a scene where shigaraki found out that Izuku used to be quirkless and simply didn't have a reaction of hatred or disgust so I doubt that shigaraki would hate Izuku for his past or for him gaining OFA.
However it can be argued that the idea that the quirkless are useless is very popular within the MHA society and that it creates heavy bias and probably a strong foundation of quirkless discrimination if done right

Some speculations about Dr.Ratio's role in the Penacony story.
I'm going to say something controversial, but I see him as a good person. Not just good but proactively good.
His scientific work is beneficial to humanity in many ways. He's a medical doctor. He advocates for (and personally provides) available education. In his quest, he doesn't just send us to do some dirty work for him, he actively includes us and makes the effort to make us understand what's going on (even his secret agenda that he omits from our dialogues is actually quite noble and idealistic).
His only negative qualities that I see are the fact that he's too abrasive sometimes and his tendency to honestly speak what he thinks, to the point of being rude (and despite that, he's slightly taken aback and feels the need to apologize when Aventurine decides to dump some childhood trauma on him).
His problem is that he needs IPC's financial and organizational support to continue his activities.
And then IPC sends him on this mission. I'm not exactly sure what they are trying to achieve on Penacony yet, but I'm sure it doesn't align with any of Ratio's goals or values. So they probably strong-armed him into participating. That's why he's more snarky than usual. That's why he's so eager to declare the mission a failure and leave as soon as something goes slightly wrong.
Also, that line about "thrall sentenced to death by IPC" seems to indicate that Aventurine's involvement is not 100% voluntary either (even though he seems quite enthusiastic about his job). And while in Ratio's case it's probably something like "do as we say, or we won't fund your new educational project", in Aventurine's case it seems to be "do as we say, or you'll be dead".

Fans who dunk on kataang as a ship because Katara was written flatly post OG series really grind my gears. As if her marrying Aang and having a family with him was the root cause of the LoK writers sidelining her when her peers still got to be way more invloved in the story.
I will be the first to admit that Katara's initial goals and characterization got quite lost post OG series. In a way, she was only reduced to a healer and her accomplishments outside of mothering children with Aang and banning bloodbending are not shared with the audience. For the first season of LoK, I think this is fine. This is not Katara's story anymore and her speech to Korra at the beginning of the season is her passing the torch to the next Avatar to have her own adventures. Katara at that point is basically a nice cameo. We're not supposed to think that this sliver of her life which Korra sees is all that's important about her.
This does not hold water in future seasons when it's revealed that Toph and Zuko are still alive and both have more active roles in the plot, whereas Katara did not have an active role in plot lines she should have been more involved with (water tribe civil war, for example). To some fans, this reduces the little that we do see of Katara's character in LoK to only being those parts, rather than just pieces of a more realized elder from the perspective of someone younger (Korra) who doesn't know her whole story.
The way that people blame her marrying Aang on the way her overall character was handled is so baffling to me. Do these fans honestly think she would have escaped that fate for certain if she had married Zuko or someone else, or stayed single?
