[One of those shows where an interviewer asks a question and then it shows a compilation of people answering it]
Vicki Vale: Who is the leader of the Gotham vigilantes?
Batman: Me. [he then stared at the camera until it cut away, after 10 seconds of silence]
Black Bat, signing: Jarro [she refused to elaborate when asked]
Red Hood: I would say Nightwing, but since he’s a goddamn Bludhaven TRAITOR, I guess it’s Oracle.
Red Robin, with a shit-eating grin: It’s Red Hood.
Spoiler: Brickothy [she holds up a brick that looks a little worn, like it was thrown at an extremely hard head]
Signal: Well Ace the Bathound appears to be the only one with brain cells soooooo
Robin: Me. [he then stared at the camera until it cut away, after 10 seconds of silence]

Idk if custome analysis and style analysis are the same thing but if they are not could u do a custome analysis for any of the yjs?
Preferently Jackie or Lottie? Lol
Sure, this is a costume analysis for Lottie’s doomcoming outfit! (Includes MAJOR Spoilers for Season 3)
Tumblr media
The outfit is not only one of the most iconic clothing pieces in the entire show but also serves a very important role in understanding Lottie as a character and how she moves through the group as well as signifying her relationship with It.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The term “Antler Queen” was coined by fans but originally the masked figure was called the Shaman/Oracle. Shamans and Oracles are spiritual figures who can commune with higher beings and foresee the future, if anyone on the show fits that description it’s Lottie. She apparently has the ability to foresee events/predict the future and actively speaks for the wilderness during the seance in bloodhive when she says “It wants blood.” She is also the one who is most in tune with the wilderness and this connection is explicitly connected to her doomcoming outfit.
Costume designer Marie Schely has mentioned a in a couple different interviews that Lottie’s Doomcoming outfit is intentionally a callback to the antler queen costume. The white dress is supposed to resemble the cloak and of course the headress is a more direct reference with the antlers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
According the Schely the Doomcoming headdress was actually made not of antler but of fiberglass to make it lighter to wear. Additionally, the headdress was supposed to look more like an alter piece rather than a hat because in the story it was originally intended to be decoration only for Lottie to more “intuitively” put it on.
Whether or not she put the headdress on under direction of the Wilderness, Lottie literally crowns herself and signifies herself as the new leader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the events of Doomcoming come to a close the dress continues on and is often worn in key moments for Lottie’s character such as the scene where she kills the bear (an act cementing her as a leader in the eyes of many teammates), and throughout season 2 as she navigates being the spiritual leader of the group.
The Dress stays with Lottie even after she is no longer the “queen.” Interestingly, as of season 3 Lottie has been the one to “crown” every queen. In season 2 she passes on leadership unto Natalie and in season 3 she chooses that Shauna will lead them moving forward.
Tumblr media
While she is no longer the “leader” in a traditional sense, she is still the spiritual leader of the group who many in the team still listens to. She has power and sway over the team, even when the team falls out with her she still ends up with the final say as to what the group does.
Tumblr media
While she ultimately wasn’t revealed to be behind the Antler Queen mask she is still intrinsically tied to the queen. Before Shauna dawns the outfit Lottie has a vision of the queen emerging from the cave. As Lottie outstretched her hands the queen does the same, mirroring her and acting as one. “My will is your will” is what the figure says and that seems to connect with what Adult Lottie says to Callie about becoming one with “it” when your will is the same.
Does this suggest that Lottie is in tune with the wilderness on a deeper level? Or maybe suggesting that while Shauna wears the mask Lottie is the one behind the Queen? It will be interesting to see how this dynamic will play out as they enter the second winter and the Antler Queen comes more into fruition in Season 4.
Hopefully this was the kind of thing you were wanting! I also have some style analysis posts linked here for a variety of characters if that’s more of what you were wanting. If you have any other questions or if I didn’t really provide the answer you were looking for just let me know!

𓇼 i'd wash the sand off the shore . . . the one and only atira has been an active musician for nearly seven years now. her digital footprint? unapologetically herself. her scorpio sun shrines through with her unconventional takes. a gen z bjork or matty healy, if you may! it's become a common joke between fans on her numerous amount of side quests. she's practically everywhere, while still pumping out music yearly, whether it's her own or helping others. the k-pop industry, famous youtubers, and revolutionary artists — she's met them all! ( a.k.a some of atira's favourite interviews/press she's been on )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𓉘 top five beatdown / watcher. . . 𓉝
⠀⠀⠀“ ⠀⠀though atira wouldn't touch anything related to the paranormal with a ten foot pole, she's been a big fan and believer of horror and ghosts from a young age. ghosthunters have knack for faking their finds — the only ones she trusts? ryan and shane. she's been a viewer since their buzzfeed days, and followed them along their journey after.
୧ ranking the 5 best superheroes ft. atira
she may be last, but she's certainly not atira's least liked — ranked at fifth place is oracle/barbara gordon. her next two picks are, ironically enough, characters she's sees herself in — x-23/laura kinney and batgirl/cassandra cain. at second place, many may not know him as a hero, but atira will defend him with her last honour — it's magneto/erik lehnsherr. and to no one's surprise, because she never shuts up about him, atira's number one hero will always be batman/bruce wayne.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𓉘 hearing songs for the first time / drumeo. . . 𓉝
⠀⠀⠀“ ⠀⠀atira's utmost talent manages to shine a spotlight on such an underrated instrument: the drums. her talent doesn't even end there, for she can sing, write, produce, and play the bass and guitar. whether it's live on tour with wallows, or at her own concerts, the reports know to call her one of the best modern drummers.
୧ atira hears marilyn manson for the first time
she's listened her fair share of artists, especially in the alternative scene. though, of course, many can get past her as well. she proved that point when a drumless track of 'the beautiful people' by marilyn manson began to play on set. her execution was almost flawless, bringing her own twist into mix that elevated her style in drumming. finding out whose song she was playing was all the more surprising — she's heard of manson's controversial appeal, but damn, did she enjoy listening !
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𓉘 royal court. . . 𓉝
⠀⠀⠀“ ⠀⠀only a few can beat atira in the game of unhinged digital footprints. brittany broski takes that cake. both are equally enamoured by each others' creative content. brittany has mentioned her music several times on her podcast — broski report — and atira has mentioned brittany on quite a few accounts during q&a's.
୧ atira joins brittany broski's royal court
brittany studies her guests as well as nardwuar. paired with the woman's humour and chaotic energy, atira had a blast on set. the host had managed to surprise her with a cucumber salad and the question of "you started worshipping a tree named bob in elementary school. explain." by the end, queen brittany of house broski had welcomed lady atira — bodyguard to duke bob, turned vampire — to the court.

Are the Birds of Prey real? I mean, I know all the heroes commonly put under that group label actually exist. But are they functionally a unit led by a JLA connected information broker called Oracle, rather than just some of them know each other and like to team up.
I ask cause you see the media slapping names on team ups all the time and nothing comes of it. I remember one time the second Blue Beetle worked with the original Question, Captain Atom, the briefly existing second Peacemaker and a few others one time the JLA got knocked out of this dimension and reports were calling them the L.A.W.(all caps, a period after each letter like it was an acronym. No idea what it was supposed to stand for.) and nothing ever came of it. And Gothamites know if Catwoman is seen near Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn then the Gotham City Sirens are out and about. It can get pretty ridiculous
Ah, Oracle. Queen of superheroine conspiracy theories. If I had a nickel for every place she was accused of intervening compared to the places she actually DID I would be a very rich man.
And she probably likes it that way.
Tumblr media
(The famous/infamous "mask" icon that serves as Oracle's digital calling card) The Birds of Prey are a hard category to pin down. The most "core" members of the "team" are Oracle, Batgirl (no don't ask me which one no one can seem to agree), Black Canary, Huntress and Lady Blackhawk. Though basically any heroine who has been in and around Gotham for any length of time has been roped in. Catwoman, Cynthia Reynolds, Hawk and Dove, Big Barda, Hawkgirl, the modern Judomaster, Misfit, Power Girl, Vixen and the list goes on and one. To answer your question in the firmest way possible. No, no official team by the name "The Birds of Prey" appears in or is legitimized by any official records from the Justice League or any other public facing superhero team. That being SAID that is a VERY narrow marker by which to define "existence" and it goes into some of the vagaries you mentioned with what a superhero team is. A superhero team is basically just any amount of superheroes gathering together for some common purpose, whether that be general or specific. While the most famous teams all of us are familiar with like the Justice League, Justice Society, Teen Titans, Global Guardians, etc are all public facing with some of kind of widely accessible history, records, a known base of operations and the like that is by FAR not the norm when it comes to these things. Many hero teams are stuck together by simple association. If enough people call the lady antivillains of Gotham the Sirens, then the Sirens they are. That's how words are defined, enough people accept what they mean that arguing their existence becomes an exercise in pedantry. Other heroes teams are fleeting and temporary, stuck together to deal with a single or a small group of threats before dissolving back into the ether. Most heroes teams are NOT the Justice League who keep meticulous records of accepted membership and most teams are CERTAINLY not the All Star Squadron where membership was a legislation defined position that came with written benefits and responsibilities. Most superheroes teams are only uncovered after the fact, finding their outline in records, accounts and interviews. That isn't to imply that if they DO exist that they're somehow an illicit or "illegal" organization. Any group with THAT membership operating for any length of time in Gotham of all places would be well known to the wider superhero community which I always like to remind people keeps much if not most of its information close to the chest for a lot of good reasons. So, the utterly unhelpful answer is No but also Yes but also Maybe but also ask me in 20 years.

10 Ideas for When You Want to Practice Divination but 'Don't Have a Good Reason to'
Sometimes you just get an urge to do some tarot, or the urge to mess with runes, but there's nothing you really want or need out of it. So I came up with some ideas that scratch the divination magic itch!
To note: for most of these prompts I will be referring to "cards" since I prefer cartomancy the most, however most of these ideas can be adapted into other forms of divination.
1. Artwork
I love drawing a random tarot card and making a quick and easy collage. Or sometimes I let the cards pick a prompt for me!
2. Make your own oracle cards/make your own form of divination
You can create your own themes, give the cards a specific use, or even just make some cards meant for witchy decoration-- do whatever you please! Likewise, you can also create your own divination system using items, symbolism, or "runic" imagery.
3. "Hang out" with your preferred divination device
I like to sit with my cards and admire the artwork, or sometimes I'll watch a movie while randomly shuffling them. It helps me feel connected to them!
4. Conduct an "interview"
Since my preferred method of divination is my tarot cards, I'll typically ask them to give me a reversed card for 'no' and a right-side-up card for 'yes'. I'll then proceed to ask it whatever questions pop into my mind. Sometimes I'll even ask it questions about myself. You can definitely adapt this idea into other forms of divination and give it a try!
Pick a card and then pick a song you feel fits the vibe of the card the most. Keep doing this until you have a full fledged playlist!
5. Make a divination-led playlist!
6. Learn a new form of divination
To name a few for inspiration: Aeromancy, Bibliomancy, Carromancy, Curiomancy, Cubomancy, Dowsing, Dream Interpretation, Scrying, Palmistry.
Please note that some forms of divination may be closely tied to closed practices and cultures and should be treated with respect.
7. Create "companion" cards for your tarot deck OR "companion runes" for rune casting!
This one coincides with idea #2 but it's a concept I love. The idea is you add new symbolic cards/runes based on preference, personal ideas, etc. It's a great way to make your deck feel even more personal to you! You could even find preexisting runes/cards and add those in if you're unsure about creating your own.
8. Make your own divination spreads
Even if you won't nessicarily use them in the moment, or even if you have a lot of spreads saved-- you can still have fun coming up with your own and writing them down to test out in the future! Think about hobbies, interests, or themes you like to inspire you.
9. Multi divination tool readings
Sometimes its fun to figure out how you can use multiple forms of divination. Write down some ideas in your grimoire on how you can possibly incorporate multiple methods so you can test it out in the future!
10. Try to predict your dreams
This one may not be a big favorite for everyone (especially considering you can argue that you'll subconsciously make your dream turn out a certain way because of your reading), but it was a fun activity i used to do when I was a beginner and needed an excuse to practice my skills! I usually would just ask a baseline question like "what will my dream look like overall?" And then from there I would ask more questions to get an idea of what it would look like.
---
I hope my list of ideas were helpful for anyone in a divination slump! I understand they may not be helpful for everyone so feel free to make your own posts with your own ideas! Likewise feel free to comment any other ideas.

Being Stray Kids Takes a Lot of Work — and Close Friendships
As they tour U.S. stadiums this summer, the eight-member K-pop superstars talk about what goes into their intense live concerts, their inventive music, and more
Tumblr media
“Do you want us to be warm and caring, or do you want us to be toxic?” That is the question that Bang Chan, the leader of the eight-man group Stray Kids, asks with a straight face, as his bandmates crack up at his cheekiness. (More on that question later.)
Three hours before Stray Kids took the stage at San Francisco’s Oracle Park on May 28, the Korean superstars sat down for an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone over Zoom. They could’ve talked about all their accomplishments, which include being the first act to debut at Number One with their first six charting albums on the Billboard 200 (their latest, Hop, came out last winter). Or how their 2024 release Ate sold more physical CDs in the U.S. than any album except for Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, according to Luminate. Then, too, SKZ — as they are also known — have the distinction of being the first male K-pop group to perform a sold-out concert at the 42,300-capacity Oracle Park, as part of their ongoing dominATE World Tour.
But, no. Give these young men a compliment and they will downplay their remarkable achievements. When I mention that they’re breaking records right and left, Bang Chan shyly says, “Not really.” Laughing, he adds, “But go ahead!”
For this chat, the band is seated in two rows of four, with Felix, Bang Chan, I.N, and Seungmin in the front, and Lee Know, HAN, Changbin, and Hyunjin behind them. They are all dressed casually in black and grey ensembles, except for Felix, who sports a light-blue hoodie.
Bang Chan and Felix, who grew up in Australia, conduct this interview in English, while the other members speak in Korean. They are professional, politely introducing themselves so that the transcriber can later distinguish their voices. But these eight friends also share a warm, unbreakable bond that comes through even over a video interview. The members in the front take turns twisting their bodies so that their bandmates in the back can be better seen.
Now seven years into their career, Stray Kids have reached the upper echelon of the pop music world, selling out stadiums worldwide. But playing to massive crowds hasn’t changed how they perform for their audience. They are one of the most physical K-pop groups in concert. Stray Kids have always fiercely attacked whatever stage they play on, and have never needed to be told to show more energy – something even the Beatles heard during their baby-band days playing in Hamburg clubs.
“Of course we recognize the difference in the crowds we’re playing to now, but our mindset of how we approach the concert has not changed from our debut,” Seungmin says. “We’re grateful that we are still doing shows and people come to see us, and we’re proud to have come this far.”
Felix adds, “We can see the crowd, no matter how big or small, from the stage. We see the diversity of our fans.”
Tumblr media
Sometimes, that crowd includes family members like Bang Chan’s younger sister, the indie artist Hannah Bahng. To the delight of the packed audience at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium earlier this week, Hannah and a friend, singer-songwriter D4VD, were shown dancing to her brother’s music on the huge video display monitor. In a deja vu moment from previous concerts where the siblings interacted, Bang Chan shouted to his sister, “What are you doing, Hannah?!” which the crowd ate up. At this point, Bang Chan’s exclamation has become a meme that fans anticipate whenever Hannah is in attendance at a Stray Kids show.
All ribbing aside, the brother and sister get along famously. In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Hannah said, “I’ve always supported my brother with his career, and I’m so proud of everything he’s accomplished. So it means the world that he’s so encouraging of the path I’ve chosen.”
Stray Kids are well known for the meticulous, hands-on approach they take to shaping their versatile sound. Bang Chan, Changbin, and HAN make up the in-house production team, 3RACHA, and write and produce most of the band’s songs, tailoring them to each member’s strength. Their songs veer from bass-heavy pop, to hip-hop swagger, to wistful ballads that can break your heart in just one verse.
“I feel our music has its own genre,” Bang Chan says. “I don’t know if it suits a certain chart or anything. It’s music we make to fit our own standards. We’re just doing what we enjoy and what we think is fun to do. But we feel that our music is actually defined by the listeners. So I don’t think we have the right to really say what our music is. [Our fandom] STAY does.”
Bang Chan adds that despite being successful early in their career, Stray Kids don’t consider themselves at the top of their game yet. “We still need to rise nine more steps to get to 10,” he says. “But that’s the thing. Each and every one of our members, we all share the same goal…. The fact that we are running towards something all together, that itself is like a goal that should be a standard.”
Without missing a beat, Changbin says in Korean, “I want to go to the Grammys,” which draws hoots and hollers. HAN stands up and pretends to chastise him, because Changbin’s statement can be interpreted as saying he’d like to win a Grammy. Thinking it over, Bang Chan smiles and simply says, “That’s a really big goal.”
It’s at this point that I ask them to share something about each other. And Bang Chan responds with the aforementioned question: “Do you want us to be warm and caring, or do you want us to be toxic?”
Felix says, “I will start off nicely,” and proceeds to describe Bang Chan.
Tumblr media
As Bang Chan covers his ears, pretend-shaking, Felix continues, “I really appreciate not only [him] taking care of all of us, but that he does this even at times when we have so much work to do. He always tries to be very positive. Even when one person feels a little bit exhausted, even though he’s tired himself, he takes care of it. That is a huge thing that not many people can do. He’s a very down-to-earth person.”
As Felix offers this complimentary affirmation, HAN jokingly gives a thumbs down, much to Changbin’s delight. When Bang Chan turns around to see why they’re cracking up, HAN grins and switches to an apologetic thumbs up.
Unafraid of how his bandmates might describe him, I.N requests, “Do me [next]!”
“I.N’s my roommate, and he’s the youngest in the team,” Bang Chan says. “But sometimes he feels like the oldest. In many ways, he is the most responsible and he takes care of his big brothers.”
I.N flexes his arms in appreciation and smiles, knowing that of course Bang Chan would compliment him. Next, I.N talks about Seungmin: “Personally, I think he has a voice that has a romantic charm. When you hear his voice, you understand what I mean. He takes great care of the members and I really respect him.”
While Hyunjin and HAN discreetly whisper, Seungmin looks over at Hyunjin and says, “Hyunjin is very passionate and responsible with his work, and I learn a lot from him. Even though we are the same age, I depend on him a lot.”
When it’s Hyunjin’s turn to say something about Changbin, the latter cutely flashes peace signs with both hands, to encourage a positive assessment. It works.
“I’ll only say nice things,” Hyunjin promises. “Changbin is the center of gravity, the core of Stray Kids. He has someone older and younger on the team, and he acts as a mediator in many ways. He’s kind and does his work really well. And he always monitors the rest of us to make sure we’re OK.”
Looking over at HAN, Changbin says, “He’s my junior and my friend. He’s like the jokester and he brightens the mood of the team. He has so much charm.”
Smiling his thanks to Changbin, HAN begins to describe Lee Know. “He is very handsome. And even though he may not look like it, he’s very sensitive and meticulous. And he listens to me and only me.” Ignoring Lee Know’s burst of laughter, HAN continues, “I can get lonely being away from home, and he takes very good care of me. After a concert, we spend quality time together. We all do, actually, and we share delicious food together.”
Of Felix, Lee Know says, “Everyone knows that Felix has a kind heart. He’s also the masseur of Stray Kids. Whenever we’re in pain, he comes running to massage us.”
All the members take this opportunity to cheer for Felix. (The group’s management, JYP Entertainment, recently released a statement saying that because Felix didn’t want to skip this tour, he may be modifying some of his strenuous dance moves to prevent back strain.)
“We’re always performing, and it takes a lot of energy,” Felix says. “It takes a lot of effort to maintain our health and condition. Everyone here all works out, and we take care of our bodies with what we eat and how we work out…. We have to be strong because our concerts are physically demanding. We don’t want to disappoint.”
Their intense live shows are three-hour marathons of music, dancing, and laughter. “There are a lot of people who are counting on us,” Bang Chan says. “We’re running around, we’re jumping up and down, it’s sometimes slippery so we can fall. We can always get hurt. Everyone has their own pace, but, yeah, for sure it’s not easy. But luckily we are still very healthy.”
The cerebral and emotional aspect of being a Stray Kid means the members are also constantly pushing themselves to better their craft. Working with other artists is one way they expand their sound, but the group is picky about who they invite into their fold. In 2024, they recorded a pair of standout tracks that featured pop singer Charlie Puth and Epik High rapper Tablo on “Lose My Breath” and “U,” respectively.
When they reached out to Tablo to collaborate with them, the hip-hop star said it was a no-brainer for him.
“My only rule when choosing who to work with — they must genuinely love what they do and the people they do it for,” Tablo tells Rolling Stone via email. “As much as this sounds obvious, it is actually rare, increasingly so in a music industry that has become more data science than art. I loved working with Stray Kids because they were so tangibly genuine, in their attitude towards music — we went through multiple other songs before landing on ‘U’ — in their on-stage presence, and in their personal interactions with me.”
In Korean, there’s a word called jeong (정) that has no English equivalent. It’s a feeling of closeness that stems not necessarily from proximity, but from shared values and an emotional bond. It’s a feeling that’s experienced by a mother and her child. But this tender connection can also manifest when two random Koreans run into each other in a foreign country. Or, in the case of Stray Kids and their STAY, when eight Korean artists share three hours with a multitude of devoted fans in a packed stadium.
Tumblr media
As this interview winds down, we talk about what they like to do in their free time. And the conversation circles back to their music. “We’ve always been busy working together on new things, even before our debut,” Bang Chan says. “Yesterday, we worked on a project at the hotel room as well. Because we’ve been together for so long, we understand each other. We understand what Stray Kids music is supposed to be.”
Lee Know adds, “We talk to each other all the time and discuss our music, especially before a comeback…”
“…So it’s not just 3RACHA making a song and that’s what gets put out,” Bang Chan continues. “It’s more of a democracy. People vote on it and actually grade it and give their feedback. We’re a group, so that’s how we work. Together.”

A China-based startup just released DeepSeek, a new AI model that the company said was produced in 2 months for under $6 million. In comparison, Meta alone said it plans to spend $65 Billion on AI this year. OpenAI is spending $100k-$700k a DAY to run their AI models.
DeepSeek is good enough to rival ChatGPT and Anthropic, and has an open-source model
(Source: CNN, watch from 2:38 onward)
Meanwhile, Trump just announced the Stargate Project, an AI investment initiative that includes OpenAI, Arm, Nvidia and Oracle. The project aims to invest $500 billion over the next four years to build data centers across the U.S. that will support AI models and allow them to continue developing
DeepSeek’s launch — it is now the most downloaded app on the App Store, ahead of ChatGPT — caused tech stocks to fall today, but according to tech consultant Shelly Palmer during the linked interview with CNN, American tech companies are likely to rise to this challenge.
The wide disparity in cost and training time between the DeepSeek and other AI models is staggering, and it begs some questions: how did DeepSeek do it faster and cheaper? Are they telling the truth? Why haven’t American firms figured this out? Why are American firms charging so much?
Mr Palmer attributes this to the different ways AI models functions. DeepSeek relies on algorithmic efficiency, while American AI models rely on brute force. Mr Palmer notes that since China has had restricted access to chips and tech (thanks to U.S. sanctions), it has had to find another way to solve the problem.
If I were to take an optimistic perspective, I’d hope that this new model will encourage American companies to step up their game and create even more efficient models. It’s the open market after all. I hope this will result in the reduction of AI’s environmental damage, which is currently proceeding on an unsustainable level. AI can be good or bad, but its current devouring of limited resources is unbearable. I’m glad DeepSeek was able to find a better way to create a more efficient model. Not only that, but since its model is open source, anyone can look at it and learn from it. It could actually prove to be an important springboard for AI technology
If I were to take a pessimistic perspective, the U.S. might take this as a threat instead of an invitation to innovate and win in the free market. TheUS might impose even more isolationist policies, possibly banning tech apps from China and ironically creating its own Great Firewall. In doing so, its people are stuck having to rely on domestic AI models, while China’s influence in the tech sphere grows through the rest of the world. Meanwhile, the US continues to spread Sinophobia and consequently misses out on new tech because it is throwing a tantrum at not having figured out the AI puzzle first, possibly accusing DeepSeek of IP theft

the rest of the Fantasy High x Very Important People fic that I'm not going to write: Very Complicated Women. story told through interview transcripts between Fig and other characters
episode 2: Fig's maternal grandmother. in which fig interviews her maternal grandmother, asking why she never knew her before, arguing about sandra lynn, fig defending her as a mother, fig having complicated feelings about sandra lynn, closes with fig threatening her maternal grandmother with extreme violence. in response, her maternal grandmother tells fig she's just like her mother and she's glad that they never had contact before
episode 3: Adaine Abernant. in which fig intends to interview her friends about being the elven oracle, but adaine ends up talking about weird customers she's served at basrar's. they end up chatting about people they've met (fig, people on tour, adaine, weird customers). closes with adaine giving a for real intense prophecy and they start yelling into their mics about it
episode 4: Kipperlily Copperkettle. half genuine interview about kipperlily's thoughts on ankarna, half petty teenage sniping, half genuine arguing. arguing about bringing about the ankarna apocalypse vs the night yorb (that was an accident! you did that on purpose!) probably ends in violence.
episode 5: Kristen Applebees. in which Kristen is invited to be interviewed about her faith in Cassandra, but she and Fig end up talking about Cassandra/Ankarna and their lesbian pantheon, and then they end up talking about being queer, and their long and complicated journey's towards realizing they were such, and then they end up talking about resources for queer kids in elmville.
episode 6: Aelwyn Abernant. in which aelwyn gives out too much criminal advice and also a lot of advice on raising cats.
episode 7: Sklonda Gukgak. in which Sklonda is mostly here to humor one of her son's friends but is genuinely impressed with the amount of work that Fig's put into her podcast. She talks about her time as a police officer, why she left her job, and offers legal advice, which Fig says will come in handy for anyone who listened to Aelwyn's criminal advice in the previous episode. ends on Sklonda starting to interrogate fig on what she means by that
episode 8: Dr. Keller/Detective Decker/Hilda Hilda/Wanda Childa. break in the format. all of fig's dialogue is still written in transcript format. the rest of the characters are written in prose as they interrogate fig on why she felt the need to disguise herself as other people so often, and why she's so uncomfortable in her own skin. this episode is a nightmare and ends with ankarna appearing and telling fig so
episode 9: Ankarna Figeuroth Faeth. written in prose, ankarna takes fig to her godly realm and asks what the heck that was all about. fig starts to explain about her podcast, asks if she can interview ankarna, ankarna agrees. switch back to transcript. fig asks a few questions, but the conversation eventually turns to be ankarna asking fig about why she became the archdevil of rebellion and why she ended up following ankarna. fig thinks about her journey as she's been growing up, and all the righteous rage she had felt, and how she shouldn't have had to feel it but she's glad she did. interview ends, back to prose. they hug
episode 10: Sandra Lynn Faeth. written entirely in prose, opens with fig waking up with a red crystal with an audio file clutched in her hand. she goes downstairs to see sandra lynn sitting at the kitchen counter, listening to an episode of fig's podcast. they talk about their relationship when fig was growing up, and during freshman year when it was more complicated, and how they've grown closer since then. sandra lynn talks about how sometimes it scares her how similar fig is to her growing up, and fig asks if that's a good thing or a bad thing, and sandra lynn says that it's not all bad because she's in a good place where she's happy with her life and she knows fig will get there too, but she wishes that fig wouldn't have to go through the struggles she did to get there. ends with them dragging out a photo album and going through it together. thus ends very complicated women

Reading for others and Selling your Readings
Tumblr media
So, you want to start reading for others and possibly selling your readings? Well you came to the right place. This post piggy backs off a google class I created on my discord pages, and today I will be going over tips and tricks for success and how to start making a side hustle out of divination! This is going to be a very tarot forward post, however this can be integrated into really any form of divination, the interview process for example is not reserved for only tarot and oracle cards! Big note: Make sure you are aware of your countries, state, and county laws revolving around divination. In some places its still illegal and criminalized and there is no point going to jail over this. Instead its best to raise awareness and talk to your local representatives about the issue.
The slides we will be using today
Part One: Knowing
The first section is all about getting started, and most great readers I can think of have 3 key things they recommened
Know your deck - What this means is actually taking the time to interview your deck and get to know its strengths, limitations, and how it will connect to your readings. When you understand your tarot cards voice, you are better able to apply messages for other people.
How do I interview my deck? To design an interview you need to create a spread that answers a few questions like "what are your strengths and weaknesses", "How do you prefer to speak to me?" and "How can I best listen and apply your advice?" Optionally it is always good to add sections asking the deck if it can read for other people, if it can read on the divine, and if it can process information that is changing.
Tumblr media
My personal favorite is the one I am listing below.
Tumblr media
2. Knowing your skills - This section is all about identifying your own strengths and weaknesses. Do you not really dabble in spirit work so you cant do spirit ID's? do you work with a trickster god so your decks often go missing? Do you simply just hate doing love readings and they bring you agony? All of these things are really valid, and its good to be honest with yourself. Start by picking out types of readings you enjoy, readings you maybe don't love or aren't skilled at yet, and then readings you just wont do. The ones in the middle category can always be worked on and expanded you may find you love them, but the ones that you just hate doing don't have to come at a cost just be honest and not offer them as a service. Another major aspect is personal associations to cards, Its important that as your using divination to make notes of personal associations you have to things, or how you interpret art on the card. This can help you better connect readings to your skills and give a more unique experience
3. Knowing your client - this is important simply for a marketing standpoint. If you are really good at deity readings it may be better to advertise your work on deity related servers rather than just spiritual ones. If you are a jack of all trades that may be vice versa. When you nail down the readings you love and hate doing you start to learn where you can successfully advertise to attract people who love the readings you do
Some important things and tips I can give as a tarot reader is to trust your intuition, and understand your skill level. When it comes to intuition some of the biggest blocks I see people have is "Well the reading isn't resonating with my spirit like usual" and its actually a really common thing! When people are transitioning to read for other people we become so used to getting that intuitive feeling that the cards just 'fit' but because the reading isn't *for* us we get an uncomfortable empty feeling or second guess ourselves. Have faith that your intuition is still working, just not on your behalf. Relax! If the client lets you know that it didn't resonate that's ok! Its a learning opportunity, it just means you have to re-look at the cards to find details you may have missed. With that also said, sometimes you are going to get a gut feeling that something is just not right, it will be different than that empty feeling or the little nagging self doubt voice. It usually comes as a whisper, a hand tremble, or sharpness in your spine that lets you know to redraw the card.
Another big thing that follows up with the third point is about your own skill level. The reason why there is so much emphasis on it is because your level will determine what readings you do, how much you charge for them, and how long it will take you to preform the reading. Its important that you are charging appropriately for practices, disclosing when you are new to something, or when you just aren't comfortable doing a type of reading for someone yet. It is always ok to say 'no' especially when a reading is out of your skill range.
Another really big thing to this is Practice, like I mentioned about finding your skill level so that leads me to another point:
Where can I go to find people to practice on?
In most cases, if you are a person of the internet you have a ton of options! There are dozens of discord servers and forums where you can practice your skills with people willing to trade or looking for free readings. Its best to avoid places like Instagram, tic tok, or amino for the time being because those places are more for building up a business rather than seeking out people to practice with. This is mainly because you will likely get overwhelmed with people trying to get free readings out of you, and servers usually have moderators that can help protect the peace while you are still learning.
A big thing I see is also about how to source tools for divination, lets say your in the broom closet and want to practice giving tarot readings but cant use physical cards, you can offer up readings using a digital deck (just make sure to disclose that) and get your practice in that way.
Part Two: Planning
Lets look at the aspects of giving a reading, We need to remember that for a lot of people divination is not only just an aspect of their spirituality but also a business for a lot of people. Some of the best readers I know actually aren't spiritual at all, but give such quality readings because they chose the study the psychology behind giving a reading. On the flip side, some of the best readings I have ever received was when the person was in tune with me spiritually, and got to know my beliefs as a client. It is a fine line for most people, and what makes these groups one in the same is they both took the time to really break in their practice, and see divination like an art form.
What are some things to note on the spiritual side?
Spiritually, we as readers are taking the time to use our tools to connect to the other side. Whether you believe tarot reads on paths, futures, or simply psychology, it can be a spiritual experience overall. I want it to be known even a complete atheist can still enjoy giving and practicing with divination, because at the end of the day you don't have to be any "type" of spiritual to practice.
Divination can be used to help other people through problems by offering another perspective, and as a reader that is a really fulfilling thing! Its nice when we can help others to see things they cant yet. Its also exciting to engage with the different questions a human can be faced with about life. As a reader there are so many beautiful solutions to problems, and divination can help with that!
Most commonly sold methods: Tarot, Oracle, and Runes
Most common services (as of 2022): Love readings, Yes/No questions, Deity and spirit questions
Ethical considerations and quirks are an important thing to cultivate as a reader. Its important to figure out where your ethics lie. Are you comfortable reading on a third party? Are you comfortable doing blind readings? What sort of things can you offer that would make you unique? As a general rule of thumb, its good to plan this out while you practice to see if anything is invoked in you. As you research different styles of readings you may find preset ethical takes online, some you will vibe with, others you will not. Take the information and evaluate it as you practice. Another big thing is confidentiality, if a reading begins to expose a deeper thing its best to talk to your client or leave it be if it isn't an immediate cause for concern.
Note: sometimes you get some seriously sick people asking for readings, confidentiality is great, however if someone is breaking the law or confessing a crime to you it is a good idea to stay calm, and report it to law enforcement if you can. It gets really difficult if the person is in another country and you are just reading online, but you can still pass it on to law enforcement who can possibly notify that countries police system. Above all else: If someone is making you feel uncomfortable you have every right to say no, block them, and move on. If it is someone physically with you like at a school or workplace setting who is making you uncomfortable, you have every right to deny service and seek out someone higher up who can help create distance between you and the other person. safety comes first.
What are some things to note on the business side?
On the business side, not only are we assisting other people, however we are also assisting ourselves. It is amazing when we can take something that brings us so much joy and use it to help turn a profit. When you begin actually selling your readings, you will come to find that a lot of math and marketing is involved like calculating where you want to be, how much to charge per card, how much to charge for other practices, how to market yourself to the world, its all things we have to factor when we are trying to make a side hustle out of this. Above all else, take care of you first! Make sure that you are keeping your energy and mental health in mind as you go through this journey
Average Pricings: $1-2 per card when first starting, averaging $3-4 a card, and on the high end some readers charge up to $17 per card. Usually pricings for spreads start at $5 per 3 cards, $10 per 10 cards, and $20 upcharges for voice chat or in person sessions. The average in person tarot reader will charge $70 per 45 min session
Average market: Highest money comes from tic tok, facebook, and instagram
Average Demographic: Usually within the ages of 23-35, mainly metropolitan areas
Tumblr media
What are some things that makes a reader unique?
Style - Having a style or theme when it comes to how you present your readings is a wonderful thing. It not only makes you more recognizable, but it also draws clients in who are curious
Presentation - How you actually present your readings is important. If you are physically speaking to someone laying your cards so its facing the client adds a special touch, if you are trying to layer paragraphs online making sure they look cohesive with correct grammar and paragraph indentation is amazing
Timing - How long you can produce readings and with how much information can be used to set you apart from other readers. Plenty of readers upcharge for 'same day' readings, or charge more for blind readings because more intuition is being used
Extras - If you are willing to provide extras, online you can create custom spreads, crystal grid photos that represent the readings, or physically offer candy or for the client to pick their own deck
Personality - Having good customer service can apply to readings too, establishing your unique personality to a client is wonderful. Whether your setting up a 'no-nonsense' vibe or are smiling ear to ear, you can connect it to the deck the client vibes the most with.
Options - Providing options and some sort of consultation phase is a great way to start a dialogue between you and your client, giving plenty of room to ask questions and be honest about what's going on sets a really good mood for both of yall.
Examples:
Tumblr media
Part Three: Doing
In this section we will be going over the most important things to remember while we are practicing, growing, and learning.
Always remember:
Your boundaries - The things you are willing and not willing to read on
Trends - What readings are the most profitable right now, why? Do you want to partake in them or not?
Clients - What types of clients do you tend to get? Do they tend to prefer a specific reading or style? Do you tend to get returning business or mainly one-off readings?
Where you promote - Where you promote is what you attract, so keep surveying the data analytics for what is most popular. For example: Psychics in Vegas tend to get the most skeptic readings, Beverly hills gets the most amount of pet readings, and Instagram pages tend to offer love readings the most
A big tip I have for new readers are on 3 things, time, spirits, and progress. When it comes to time make sure you are picking ways to charge for everything whether its VC, text, or in house, make sure you aren't running your clock and have methods to lead a conversation if a client is taking up a lot of time with stories that don't exactly apply. Next when it comes to spirits and deities it is important that you wait on those types of readings until you have protections and adequate research on different types of deities and spirits as to not possibly bring danger to yourself, clients, and are giving accurate information that preserves the cultures these being originate from. Finally when it comes to progress I recognize that it can be hard learning to say no, developing a back bone, and wanting to do more with your readings, just ride the wave as it comes! This takes time and I promise the more you work on your skills the more likely you are to succeed. Just make sure you are always honest with your clients and with yourself when you need to take a break.
What are some bad habits people should avoid?
Over cleansing - Sometimes we create this idea that you need to be triple cleansing in between each and every client, but in actuality this can create fatigue on our decks. Its kind of like showers: Some people shower daily just to get the gunk off, but they might not wash their hair or use a scrub every single shower because it strips the good oils from our hair and skin. Tarot can be the same, over cleansing it can strip it of energy. Its best to talk to your cards, have a charging station at the ready, and keep tabs on how they are feeling
overbooking - If you are currently enrolled in school full time, or have a full time job, it isn't realistic to take every single client at all hours of the day, that is the fastest way to divination burn out. Stager out clients between your real world schedule and set up a system that gives you time to transition.
Overdoing - Don't offer more than you can put out. Don't promise to do a 15 card spread in 30 min if you know your readings take longer. Don't offer freebies willy nilly because then it becomes an expectation. Make sure that you are properly valuing your work based off how long it takes you to create that product. At the end of the day you are offering a service, treat it like such!
Final Words
The divination community is an incredibly vast one that features all sorts of people, businesses, and more. Relax! This journey is a rewarding one, don't take it so serious that you start to fall apart. Have faith in your ability to research and practice, and as you grow don't hesitate to start finding communities that can help you grow as a reader.
Another big thing to watch out for is the rampant scam community. often times we see 'readers' come along who either make up some story about an ancestor leading them to you, someone cursing you for no reason, etc and making you foot the bill for their services. Or you get people who pretend to be tarot mentors and instead will copy paste things from biddy tarot while you pay 100 bucks a month. Be aware of people who are looking to take advantage of you, if it looks to good to be true it probably is. Be careful out there!
With all that said, I hope you all enjoyed this post, if you have any questions or comments feel free to drop them below. Thank you! Fair winds travelers

i. if there's something you don't quite understand about your reading feel free to ask. sometimes my english is not perfect, you can question me if there's a part in your reading you didn't get.
ii. i don't consider myself as tarot professional or a medical and mental health expert, but i assure you that the reading is based on the tarot and oracle although i am not a type of "reader" who usually follows the meaning of cards and more verge on the intuition and lean on how i perceive each card and their illustrations.
