Headcanons about Astarion being protective over his partner

It's really all fun and games as long as you are fine; he's very much accustomed to just be flirty all around and so it's all good as long as you are comfortable with it or initiated it

But as soon as someone puts a toe over the line he turns into a bloodhound

He stands behind you staring down whoever it is that's disrespecting you or making you uncomfortable - but you're your own person and he let's you handle it - at first

He'll happily stand by and watch you take them apart yourself; but he'll have your back if need be

He just perfectly embraces being the deadly predator he is: stands there like a statue, not a single movement, not a thing distracting him from staring down his target

Some people don't seem to get that that's a VERY angry vampire staring them down and if they keep going there will be consequences

If they don't learn he steps forward: "I think you should leave as long as you still have all your wits and teeth about you!" "I don't think I was talking to you, you elven bastard!" The dagger's out quicker than you can say 'knife' and at the other person's throat. "Keep talking and find out how much of a bastard I really am." Astarion's feral, red eyes almost glowing, a growl forming in his chest, barely in control of his composure by then. You softly put a hand on his arm which makes him relax only a little. "Come on, they're not worth it, Astarion. Let's just go", you say, so you guys turn around willing to leave, when... "What - not so eager to keep your promise now, bastard?" Wrong thing to say. Astarion whirls around and absolutely sucker punches the shit out of them, making them go down in a single hit while probably breaking a nose, a lip and several teeth. He licks the blood off his knuckles as he turns to you with a smirk: "Now we can go, my sweet love."

And that's how Astarion started and ended a tavern brawl with a single punch for you

Also I know that this was all pretty specific to a certain kind of situation in which he would be a protective, but I hope I could satisfy!

Whenever Steve has a migraine, he seeks out Eddie. Eddie’s voice acts as the only white noise Steve’s head can tolerate on the bad days. And he’ll always drop everything to whisper soothing words to Steve for hours long past when he falls asleep.

He’ll talk about upcoming DnD campaigns, mumble about song lyrics, and go on long soliloquies about how Steve looks beautiful even if his brain is melting.

Eddie always has a sore throat the next day but that never stops him. (When Steve finds out about the sore throats, he stops mentioning the headaches but somehow Eddie still knows. He shows up with a face mask, some cough drops, and a smile.)

RW Headcanon: How Arti Gives Back

In the RW community on this site, I’ve heard quite a few Artimand thoughts about how Gourmand would help Artificer heal from her trauma and grief. And while that’s all good, something that’s continuously puzzled me when shipping Artimand romantically is, “but how would Artificer help Gourmand?”

Let me tell you, one of my all-time favorite qualities in a ship is the characters helping each other improve themselves, especially in ways no other character pairing can. And while it’s easy to see Gourmand helping Artificer improve, given the vast amount of grief and lust for vengeance she has to overcome, and since Gourmand probably has a natural inclination to help others in need, what would she give to him in return? And to add to that, why would Gourmand fall in love with her and choose her as a mate, as opposed to just casually looking out for her and straight pitying her at worst, especially when she’d most-likely appear very un-qualified for romance initially?

Well, I’ve developed some thoughts and headcanons for that, and I’ll put them below the cut! Please let me know if anything could be improved, or if you can add to it! I’d love more reasons to think of these two sweethearts!

Option 1: Combat

Arti would help Gourmand improve his combat skills. The way I see it, Gourmand is a very strong warrior, but doesn’t often engage in combat simply because he doesn’t see a need for it outside of defense. Even then, due to his kind nature, he typically only fights back enough to deter predators, not kill them. However, with Arti being a carnivore, and having LOTS of experience with more complex combat situations than just defense (mostly from scav encounters), I like to think that Arti would give Gourm more combat tips and they may even end up bonding on occasional hunting trips together. And it would circle back to Arti because Gourm, with his cooking skills, would make the resulting meals from their hunts taste SO much better than what Arti is used to, allowing her to slow down and really enjoy food in a way she hasn’t been able to with her warrior lifestyle!

Option 2: Motherhood

This one’s pretty self-explanatory. Given Arti was a mother once, and Gourmand’s story ends with him getting 2 pups, I could easily see him wanting Arti to stay around to act as a mother for them. Not only would that give her the chance to embrace motherhood again, but it would take some pressure from Gourmand because he has a partner (and an experienced one at that) to help him with parenting! I mean, don’t get me wrong, Gourmand is undoubtedly great with pups, but even so it’s good to have some help! Even more so since (depending on what general age you headcanon the pups as) he’d likely have to leave his pups alone while getting food; it’d be nice to have someone with her own experience caring for pups who can look after them during those times and, to add onto the first option, even help teach them how to hunt and survive on their own!

And heck, I personally actually like to imagine that, a little later, after she gets comfortable enough and fully overcomes her grief, Artificer would actually have a second litter with Gourmand (naratively-speaking, this would signify the completion of her character arc)! Of course it’d be a big deal for Arti, but just imagine how much fun Gourm would have exploring the new experience of getting to raise biological pups this time! And I can just see him being so, so thankful that Arti somehow managed to give him even more family to love!

Option 3: Passion

So this one’s the most personal-headcanon-based, and built off my personal depiction of Gourmand as a character. In my headcanon, Gourmand starts out as a rather reluctant leader of his colony. I have this whole idea of what specific event led to him becoming the leader, but to summarize, it seemed like a very sudden chance event at the time, yet from it he was more-or-less unanimously chosen to lead by the other Outer Expanse slugcats due to him having shown great creativity, survival skills, and protectiveness. Gourmand himself, however, doesn’t really feel he’s fit to be a leader; he’s used to an easygoing life just peacefully surviving and doing his own thing, not managing and defending an entire colony! He’s so used to seeing the simple parts of the world that he often underestimates himself, so something as “grand” as leadership often appears too great for him.

That’s where Arti comes in. I like to imagine that Artificer is extremely passionate, but that for a long time after her pups’ deaths, that passion was manifested almost exclusively as immense rage, grief, and desire for revenge against their killers. But imagine if, once she gets comfortable with Gourmand’s colony, she begins to show that passion in positive emotions! Not only would she, after seeing what he’s capable of in hunts, help him see that he IS the perfect leader for his colony, but just IMAGINE: Arti hyping Gourm up as the biggest, strongest warrior in the Expanse, just before the two prepare to take down a king vulture; or Arti patching him up after a really tough battle and assuring him he’ll be even better next time; or Arti teasing Gourm and them chasing each other around as they spar together in the OE fields; or Arti getting all dramatic as she recites tales of her epic scavenger battles to his eager pups; or Arti showering Gourm with kisses after he makes a REALLY good meal with her favorite meats!  There are SO many possibilities for hypeman Arti, and I figure that, once Gourm sees her fiery spirit used in a positive way, especially to help him and his family, he can’t help but fall for her! And this idea is part of why I like the Spicybun ship name so much - while Gourmand helps Arti mellow out, Arti literally spices up his life! They just compliment each other so perfectly!!

MAN do I love these two so much! This is about all I have right now on this subject, but again, I’d LOVE to hear any other ideas for how Artificer would help Gourmand, or additions to these ideas! I just adore the “opposites attract” ship trope (although I personally prefer to call it “inverses attract”), and I think Artimand is easily one of the best examples of that in Rain World!

First of all I'm sure Vox doesn't understand Rosie and Al's relationship at all, all he sees is that she's allowed to be affectionate with him and he's not, sees them as a couple because he doesn't understand Al's aroaceness or the relationship he has with Rosie (all he thinks is "what does she have that I don't??")

Rosie on the other hand, I love the idea that she teases him about it! Even if she doesn't have any romantic interest towards Al she understands she has a really special place in his non existant heart and is happy to rub it off on Vox's face any chance she gets (like hug Al or scratch his ears shamelessly when Vox is around eheh) and sometimes even has a "he's mine :)" energy when she teases Vox about it.

Would be even funnier if Alastor has absolutely no clue that the two of them have a silly rivalry over him

I got the Passion For Fashion brainworms, and since you're guilty for it you WILL get my headcannons.

Since Clockwork made them know spanish as if it was their first language, they only talk in spanish with eachother, more often than not completely forgetting that they are talking in SPANISH.

Danny and Dan like bickering and banter but since they were basically eachother once upon a time they know eachother's limits perfectly. That causes them to say a lot of agressive and downright nasty stuff to eachother so it always sounds like they hate eachother and are constantly fighting.

Clockwork gave them the "essentials" for making clothes, so Dan will absolutely just spam Danny's phonenwith pictures and descriptions of a sewing gadget or tool and be like "Danny i need this. Please. I know you keep making stuff don't lie to me. I know you can do it so please just make it. Danny we are too poor to buy this. Danny PLEASE I need it" until Danny accepts making the thing in true Fenton fashion.

Danny and Dan making up names for themselves because no sane parent names both of their twins "Daniel"

Dan headcannons cuz i love him:

I think that even if they're identical twins, Dan has longer hair with a dark gray streak (cuz of vlad ofc)

Dan forcefully makes Danny do skincare to make his appearance look good but will never even drink a glass of water for his own health.

Danny and Dan not realizing they slipped into Spanish is such a mood tbh. Sometimes, my coworkers and I do that, and my non Spanish speaking coworker just stares at us until we snap.

Lowkey they dislike each other, but they also love each other, and no one can tell with the insults they threw. Danny and Dan live and breath the "Only I can be mean to my sibling!"

Danny would make Dan anything he asked for if it meant keeping his Obsession healthy. On the one hand, it gives him something to do and, on the other hand, keeps Dan from jumping off the deep end again. He does get annoyed with Dan spamming him at three in the moring for "A machine that could double bedazzled and polish!"

Both kept their names as Danny and Dan, so neither is Daniel. Clockwork did that when he made their files. He knew if he tried to change their names, both would refuse to answer.

They turned Vlad into a verb. Danny trips over air? "You went and Vlad-ed everything bro" Dan refuses to shower cause he has some embroidery to do? "Ugh you Vlad-ed all of my scent receivers" sometimes when the fight is really big Danny will yell "YOUR JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER VLAD!" and Dan will gasp dramatically before bursting into tears. ( Cause he took Vlad ghost that makes him half vlad and Dan has to live with that)

Bruce would never understand why the twins are more freaked out by Brucie Wayne then Batman. His kids think it's hilarious.

Dan and Danny are identical down to the hairstyle in my au, but That will change with time. Dan will grow out his hair to put it in a man bun, while Danny will cut it short. And yes, Dan wears nothing by sweats or PJs. He doesn't care about the clothes after they are finished. He just likes making them.

Dan was a pure ghost for almost ten years before Clockwork messed with his body and threw it back into its teens. He is not used to doing most basic human needs like showering, eating, sleeping, and, of course, drinking water. Danny has to remind him his headache is due to lake of all the things mentioned. That will not stop him from designing a strict beauty regime for Danny, including hourly water intake.

Last little detail, both are terrible at social interactions. Dan beacuse he thinks of himself as a ghost and doesn't like humans so he avoids them if he can and Danny cause he sees everyone as unimportant since he's planning on going home. Neither of them know anything about Batman besides what clockwork told them. As of part 3 they didn't even know he was a vigilante. So this lake of information means they don't know anyhring about the rest of Gotham and that will play a big part in how they react to villains.

Also yes, Dan was being genuinely interested when he flirted with Killer Croc, but that's cause he thought he was a EverBurning. A group of Lizard men in the ghost zone is similar to the FarFrozen society only they live in volcano surrounded by lava.

Alrighty, today's the day I'm gonna write some smut for my fic A Night of Song and Laughter. Sooo, I thought maybe some more headcanons about my Tav and Astarion but a little smutty - as a warm-up.

So here we go, for safety reasons below the cut (this is rather tame tho). Also spoiler warning for BG3.

The first time you do it after killing Cazador is quite frankly... mindblowing. Especially for Astarion - sleeping with someone because you deeply desire them? Sleeping with someone because you love them? Man's flustered in the best fucking way.

You're far from a virgin but you can't rival Astarion in experience or endurance and also sometimes you just can't get out of your head. But not to worry, Astarion always makes sure you're comfortable. Something too much for you? He makes you stop, you don't have to continue. You still really wanna try? "Let's take it slow, sweetheart, make it fun for the both of us."

As you get more comfortable and explore new things you propose to him that you'd like to be more in charge some times. That's also rather an unusual experience for Astarion since he's used to taking the lead but the thought of it is getting him all hot and bothered.

Did I say he was a tease? Always touching you, saying something that catches you off guard, forcing you to take a quick breather or squeeze your thighs together because YOU ARE IN PUBLIC?!

I think each member of Dethklok represents a different kind of shortcoming creative people need to overcome in order to reach their full potential— whether they call themselves artists or writers or musicians or whatever. Whether they do it professionally or as a hobby. Here's the way I see it:

Murderface represents self-deprecating and self destructive tendencies (i. e. not feeling good enough, wanting to quit, throwing tantrums, general low self-esteem)

Pickles is the drive for instant gratification whether it's via actual substance use or general hedonism ("I'd rather take a nap/smoke a joint and chill for a bit right now, I can totally get to this project later", etc)

Toki represents overly idealistic expectations and maybe also a different type of hedonism, one more focused on literal fun and games ("My art will be so good I'll be famous and everyone will love me, yay! ...Whaaat? I'm supposed to actually work on it? Nah, I'd rather play some videogames today")

Skwisgaar is perfectionism and a general ego, basically the other side of the coin he shares with Murderface ("I am the best and a literal fucking god at this"/Having meltdowns over the slightest mistake you make/"If I'm not as good as I expect myself to be then who even am I?")

Nathan is the tendency to get easily distracted while placing high expectations on one's own work. Plus the persistent guilt of past or potential failure.
