there's too much animosity towards queer people who want to practice their faith/spirituality, both within their respective religions and within the LGBTQIA+ community.
we need to protect and lift up our queer siblings of faith.
our queer Christians.
our queer Jews.
our queer Muslims.
our queer Hindus.
our queer Buddhists.
our queer Sikhs.
our queer Baháʼís.
our queer Wiccans/Pagans.
our queer Shintos.
our queer siblings of indigenous/folk faiths.
our queer SBNR siblings.
our queer siblings of whatever religion/spiritual systems they observe.
you're all beautiful and valid and loved and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 💖

@ all the religious queers who follow me (or don't lol), y'all should reblog this with what your favorite part of your religion is. it could be a particular ritual, an item, a belief within it, an experience you had, anything!
we should share some good against all the bad that we get <3

every time i see someone exclude, mock or ignore queer religious people's existence (whether from bigoted religious people or bigoted queer people) i think it should be perfectly acceptable for us to punch them in the face for that

I know there's a lot of people who feel kinda intimidated or uncomfortable with religious queer people at pride, especially Christians, and that's okay! I understand! but even if it makes you uncomfortable, remember that not all religious people are the same, and you can't judge one person because of things other people have done. but if you aren't comfortable being around queer religious people, just dont go. either that, or just ignore them (obviously unless they're directly interacting with you and not trying to start anything or cause problems) bc like, I have mild religious trauma, so I get it, but if its not directly affecting you, just let them be happy? dont attack them, this should be obvious
sorry for rambling I hope this makes sense
im here for all the religious queer people, and non religious queer people <3
everyone is welcome at pride. except bigots

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck off and fuck you leslye headland
According to a collider interview headland believes the Jedi represent straight men oppressing the Sith who represent queer women who just want to be free
The Jedi-a diverse, predominantly East Asian-inspired culture (with elements of Islam, Judaism, and other cultures) who preach tolerance, peace and acceptance-are oppressive straight (christian, she doesn't say it but it's obvious that's what she's implying) men
And the sith-a nazi inspired (the sith code is literally based off of mein kampf) death cult that believes they are the superior life forms of the universe and that they are entitled to kill take or enslave whomever and whatever they want because of their strength-are actually the poor oppressed queer women trying to be free
Y'know I don't know what's more insulting
Is it the intentional likening of the Jedi to homophobic bigots?
Or is it the blundering stupidity of likening queers to the space nazis?

Queering Shinran
"Shinran, a radical thirteenth-century Japanese monk, exile, and refugee, founded the Jodo Shinshu tradition. A people’s Buddhism, it was specially created to be a way of including those who are marginalized and oppressed in dominant society. Considering the queerness in Shinran’s life and teaching allows us to rethink inclusivity as a fundamental Buddhist practice."

Dan Da Dan
all phenomena is spiritual phenomenon
spirit = consciousness = energy = matter
spirit is transpersonal
gnosis, meditation, and yoga are examples of some spiritual practices which may help evolve an individual in awareness
there are, of course, countless cultural practices which opens one up to the divine - either within or without

I think so many usamerican atheists forget that Jesus is still a Christian character no matter how much your blorbo-fy him. I don’t care if you think he was queer or whatver, you’re still regurgitating Christian beliefs and pretending they’re secular.
like I’m sorry but this is genuinely foul. this isn’t blorbo from your shows it’s a Christian icon associated with oppression. get help.

Brown Boy Beautiful and the Polychrome Antiquities
"Athens was never white but her statues, bereft of color, have conditioned the artistic sensibilities of Europe… the whole past has reached us colorless." (André Malraux). All of the marble sculptures, bronze statues, and ornamental architecture of ancient Greece and Rome were originally painted with many vibrant colors and elaborate patterns. Blank, unadorned sculptures became the norm of the western canon during the Renaissance, when the church sought to redefine its realm and its peoples under a single subcontinental identity built on shared classical foundations. This myth of paleness as divinity, purity, beauty, and authority is so pervasive that most of us absorb its message unknowingly as children and some of us never unlearn it (see Clark doll test, 1940 - present)

not me adding literal buddhist monk shaolin masters to my very short list of ppl I’ve ever strongly related to the philosophy/mentality/approach to life of oh boy
#anthony padilla#buddhist monks#philosophy#trans#Idk what this says abt me for any of you who don't know me that well yet lmao#but it is fascinating to me at least that between the discipline of language learning since childhood#my shonen protagonist energy and slight megalomania#and my nonbinary trans thoughts about physical change and self improvement etc etc etc#despite coming from such vastly different backgrounds (not just culturally just in the like- I'm a queer artist n educator n stuff#and they're literal monks in an organised religion/belief system)#we have still somehow arrived at so many similar not only beliefs but also just like ways of living and discipline and worldview#something something outsider perspective that queer people will be more prone to due to being an eternal minority in any part of the world#while ppl like monks/nuns take up the lifestyle they lead in order to alienate themselves from the rest of society for religion's sake#something something the historic connection between ppl who dedicate their life to religion (monks/nuns/priests/etc) and the queer community#and various cultures where genderqueer ppl's role is/was that of religious leaders#something something maybe in a changing world that is not as religious anymore we can still be advisors and wise ppl to consult#like I think that's literally the conclusion I've arrived at for my pitch to the feminists is#you will never truly manage to include us as equals for sheer numbers reasons so you might as well use us and our skills and insights#for the gender lib movement in other more distinct ways that neither need you to fully equate us to you nor to limit us to your part of it#pay the transfemmes to teach y'all coding karlie kloss can't do it all on her own#and pay me to come teach you abt transmasc inclusion and internalised misandry and the terfs#and you'll find plenty of use from having us around
