Barty and Evan are extremely codependent (and I love that for them, honestly). But basically, this means that you don’t see one without the other, with two exceptions. One is that Barty’s at a party or some type of social gathering, because it’s a fifty fifty chance that Evan will join him. The other is when Evan and Pandora are having a “twin day” in which Panda drags Evan off to go make flower crowns and gossip with her. It’s in these sessions that she hears about Evan’s horribly pathetic crush on Barty, and that she is the first to be told that they’re dating.

What if! The Black Brothers and Rosier Twins were friends growing up. Regulus and Pandora have always been close, but Evan and Sirius use to be close, cause they were the older of the siblings (I headcanon Evan to be the older twin, and that their birthday is before Regulus's), and other reasons, but mostly that. What if a few days before Sirius left for Hogwarts, the Rosiers spent the night, and while Reg and Dora were asleep, Sirius made Evan promise to watch over Reggie while he was gone. What if Sirius told Evan that it was his responsibility to watch over Dora and Reg now that he was gone at school, just like how Bellatrix told Andromeda, who told Narcissa, who told Sirius. What if that's why Evan and Reggie, initially, became best friends? They were obviously friends before, but they weren't super close until Sirius left. What if Evan was just as devastated as Reg when Sirius came back for Christmas holiday and realized he had changed? What if that made him resent Sirius a little, what if seeing Regulus be hurt by it as well made him resent him even more? What if, despite Evan resenting Sirius a bit, he still tried to be his friend (cause I believe they were each others first best friend that weren't their siblings)? What if Evan convinced Regulus and Pandora to find Sirius on their first train ride to Hogwarts, because he wanted to sit with him? What if when they found him, he was already sitting with his Gryffindor friends and was mad that they had come to find him so he took them out of the compartment and told them, in French, that they weren't kids anymore and they don't have to follow him everywhere he goes, that he has his own friends now and doesn't need them pestering him, what if that's the first time Evan thought he hated Sirius? But what if, despite hating Sirius, he still followed his orders of taking care of Reg and Dora? What if that's (part of) the reason why he joined the Death Eaters in the first place, so he could take care of Regulus? What if Regulus saw Evan more like a big brother than Sirius after Sirius left him? What if that made Sirius hate Evan? What if they both died hating their first friend?

I haven’t been on here in forever, but i realized i never shared my rosier twins headcanon. SO, here it goes:

basically, they’re not twins… but they kinda are. HEAR ME OUT. So when i was in primary school I had a teacher who was a twin and married a twin. my teacher, twin A, married a man, twin 1. BUT, her sister, twin B, married twin 1’s twin brother, twin 2. So basically, two sets of twins married each other. AND to make it weirder, both couples had a kid, (couple A1 had a boy, and couple B2 had a girl) THE SAME YEAR. I might be getting this wrong, but their kids are like a month apart. The girl was my little cousin’s best friend and i grew up around them, so it was never weird to me, but now that i look back on it, it was quite a peculiar situation.

The hc goes as follows: Druella Black, née Rosier, married Cygnus Black (brother of Walburga and Alphard Black). They had 3 daughters; Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa. Druella had 2 younger identical twin brothers. For the sake of the story, let’s name them Pierrick and Emelien Rosier. Since Druella was a woman and was married off the ancient and most noble house of incest, the house of Black, Pierrick and Emelien shared the responsibilities of being the Rosier heir. The Rosier boys were married off to a set of identical twins girls (again, just humour me) of the Nott family, (I’m choosing names by throwing darts on a wall here), Pascaline and Esther Nott.

So these 2 sets of twins were married off, and were eventually made to have kids. Now, whether this be by accident or on purpose, both couples got pregnant and were expecting their first (and only) child on September 22nd, 1960. Pierrick and Pascaline Rosier were to have a little girl, while Emelien and Esther Rosier were to have a little boy.

On September 7th 1960, Evan Rosier was born 15 days before his due date. On October 7th 1960, Pandora Rosier was born 15 days after her due date (I know 15 is a lot, but I do know someone born 2 weeks late so let me have this.) Making Evan and Pandora cousins, but also genetic siblings, who, for all intents and purposes, could be mistaken as fraternal twins. Since their fathers shared the duties of heirs and their mothers were quite close, being sisters and all, they lived on 1 vast property, containing 2 mansions. They were raised as close as siblings, being much closer to each other than their other cousins, the Black daughters.

This also means that Sirius and Regulus (sons of Walburga and Orion Black) shared cousins with the Rosier not-twins, Evan and Pandora. Those cousins being Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa. Which is a whole ass other post.

Black family headcanons

-up until 1975, if you asked Sirius, Andy, Bella, and Cissa who their favourite member of the family was, they'd all say Reg. Bella thought he was polite and impressionable enough to follow the rules, Sirius loved him deeply until he realised he couldn't be saved, Cissa had a really strong bond with him and they were always super close, and Andy saw a sweet shy boy stuck in a vile home and hoped he'd be able to get out one day. Andy and Sirius eventually started choosing each other as their favourites but their love for Reg never really went away.

-trans Andy. That's it. Andromeda is a trans girl.

-When they were young, Walburga and Alphard were really close and she always protected him even if there was no need to. As he grew into his own person and began to distance himself from the family values, she was the first to notice and chose to alienate him from the family. She erased any sign of ever loving her little brother and swore to never bother wasting time on a stupid child again

-in first year, the sorting hat was deciding whether to put Reg in Ravenclaw or gryffindor, it only placed him in Slytherin because he threatened it

-as kids, Andy and Cissa couldn't sleep until Bella had read them a bedtime story

-Druella was theorised to be part Veela, which sparked tension between the black and rosier families because her birth was heavily debated upon. She completely ignored the rumours and strived on angering other purebloods because she knew that despite their hatred, she was untouchable

-Alphard left money to Reg too but it was sneakily withheld to keep him from having enough power to get out. Cissa got some too but it all went to Lucius, there was no fear of her getting away because she was deemed 'secure' enough due to her marriage.

-Orion and Walburga allowed Reg to transition after Sirius left as they thought that if they made it look like he had enough 'freedom' within the family, he wouldn't try a similar thing

-Narcissa really liked Ted but couldn't admit it out loud. She thought he was cool and wished they could be friends

-Cygnus would blame all his mistakes on his siblings.

-this is dark but Cygnus and Orion killed Alphard. They didn't tell Walburga bc they were scared of her and couldn't predict her reaction but she knew from the moment it was announced

-Sirius and Bella used to be pretty close but the relationship deteriorated even faster the older they got

Were wally softer in her youth or this love delusion made her the well known psyco? Did this unrequited love for this man have something to do with the failed marriage with Orion (like robert baratheon always in love with Lyanna stark instead of his wife Cersei?) and with the betrayal with Druella? were orion and druella in love but then they had to marry other blacks? I want to know the background. I want to know the drama 🔥 and how did the blacks ended the scandal? Did Wally think about marrying Orion? Or her father? Did Alphard have a role in younger siblings' marriages to people they didn’t love? He could have done this, just to have fun

ok, I’ve joked in the past about how I basically have a TLE wiki from all the random notes and headcanons I’ve scribbled in my phone over the years but like………I kinda do.

For instance, I have a stupid amount of Black family backstory, some of which I’ll keep to myself because it’s probably going to end up in the story, and some of which is just superfluous info that no one really needs to know but exists anyway because my brain doesn’t shut up. Sometimes this backstory makes it into little lines like the one you referenced above. 🙃

Anyway, here’s (part) of my TLE wiki bio of Walburga because why the heck not 😂

Walburga Black was born in 1925, the oldest child of Pollux and Irma Black. She had two brothers, Alphard and Cygnus, for whom she never much cared. This was partly based on resentment: the Blacks, being an ancient family, followed ancient rules of inheritance. Despite being the first born child, Walburga, a female, would inherit nothing. It’s hardly surprising, then, that she viewed Alphard as her usurper.

Alphard, for his part, did not play the role of heir particularly well. He was extravagant in his tastes, liked expensive horses, racing, gambling and men. It became apparent early in life that Alphard would not carry on the Black family name. This meant, of course, that young Cygnus had a fair amount of responsibility on his shoulders. Walburga, who thought he was weak-minded and soft, resented him this all the more.

Walburga left Hogwarts in 1932 and it was arranged that she would marry Robert Burke, a pureblood from a respectable family. He was nearly ten years her senior, but Walburga was deliriously and unusually happy with this arrangement. While it might be premature to say that she loved Robert, she was certainly infatuated with him, and boasted of her esteemed engagement. Alas, the feeling was not mutual. Robert, 28 and unhappy, ran off and eloped with a Muggleborn witch. Walburga was humiliated, shamed, and utterly furious. She never got over the slight, and in some ways, her exceptional fanaticism for blood purity could be traced back to this moment.

In 1949, Cygnus married Druella Rosier, who was 9 years his senior. It was an arranged marriage, naturally, but mutually beneficial. A few years later, in 1951, Druella gave birth to her first child, a girl named Bellatrix. In 1955, following the birth of Cygnus and Druella’s third daughter, Narcissa, Walburga consented to marry her cousin, Orion Black. Walburga was 30 years old — Orion was 26 — and she was beginning to feel anxious. There had been no other suitable marriage offers and Orion, though she had no passionate feeling towards him whatsoever, offered a great deal that was important. Primarily, she would keep her beloved name. The two married in 1956 and ultimately took over 12 Grimmauld Place, the home in which Orion had been raised — his parents having moved out to a house in Wiltshire, to give them the space. Orion and Walburga’s marriage was not a particularly happy one, though neither of them expected nor wished it to be. There was no affection between them, no warmth, no intimacy. All they really shared was a devotion to their name, the honor and privilege that being a Black bestowed upon them. It was a duty, their marriage, and both saw it as such. The duty, of course, was to produce heirs to the Black name.

By 1957, Walburga was pregnant with her first child. However, she would tragically miscarry. For someone whose own self-worth was so reliant on her ability to produce a male heir for the Black family, this was a nearly unsurvivable blow. But she carried on. It took two more years for her to have a successful pregnancy, but on November 3, 1959, Sirius Orion Black was born. Roughly a year and a half later, on June 19th, 1961, Walburga gave birth to a second son, Regulus Arcturus Black.

Walburga was delighted by her sons, not because she felt overwhelming affection for the two children, but rather because they secured her victory over her brothers. She was the sole keeper of the Black family name. Her children would be heir to the entire Black fortune.

Why do people babygirl-ify Death Eaters?

Hi everyone! I'm back with more of my research!

After returning to the marauders fandom to study it, I was particularly interested in why fans were drawn to characters that were canonically death eaters. I understood the obsession with Regulus Black and Draco Malfoy- they were canonically children and they canonically defied the Death Eaters, but I was curious about Evan Rosier and Barty Crouch Jr. To my (pretty extensive) knowledge, all we know about them is that they're Death Eaters, they're Wizard Nazis. So why did I, in doing my research, keep finding people saying these two characters were their "babygirls"? It concerned both me and my professor, who thought it indicated a bigger problem within fandom as a whole. The ability to think that making a character queer erases them of their ties to the Death Eaters is, in my opinion, dangerous. How will this be played out in the real world? Will we see actual Nazis, or actual terrorists, or actual war criminals be called babygirls?

This is a short summary of why people said they think people "babygirl-ify" Rosekiller (Evan Rosier and Barty Crouch Jr.) from my research. As always, if you have any questions or if you want to chat about any of this, reach out to me! My asks are open

I truly think it has less to do with their evilness, and more to do with what we have in canon. We know characters Draco Malfoy, we know what they're like, what they've done. Then, we see something 'uncharacteristic' and it stands out, like a literary uncanny valley. It stands out, and if someone was to try, I know I'd just swipe past it. However, when you compare them to "empty vessel" name-only characters, because we don't have many fully-fleshed out evil characters in the material, it's easy to slap a babygirl sticker all over him, and be like oh its my headcanon. A popular character, with facts and details about them, will stand out when you make a new headcanon that doesn't fit inside what we know about HP. I think characters like Barty, Evan, and even Regulus, are ragdolled around and basically original by the time nearly anyone writes them. This isn't a condemnation! Just how I understand it.

People started to realize that Regulus was an interesting character himself, rather than him being a bratty younger sibling to Sirius. Therefore he had to have friends, so we started to see a surge in Evan and Barty. In the early Reggie appreciation era (early 2022) we saw quite a bit of Bartylus, but that has died down as people like to think of Jegulus as their endgame now. I also think that fanfiction greatly shapes the minds of the fandom, especially well written popular ones. The first and most prominent one that Rosekiller character appears in is Just Lovers (like we were supposed to be) on ao3 by bizarrestars. Here, they are playful and sarcastic best friends of Reggie who help him through his lil emotions. Everyone loved them so much that the zar (the author) gave us their own lil intermission of it.

Because it's fun! I really don't think it's deeper than that. People started liking Regulus and then they decided that his friends could be nice too, and then they decided that his friends could be queer or even dating each other and they could be babygirls and who cares it's just fun. I'm not a big Rosekiller shipper and I'm more of a Wolfstar girl lately (but that's just because most of the Jegulus fics are sooo poor quatlity, like yes I know that Regulus is mean, but if you make him an absolute ass with no redeaming qualites I'm not gonna want them to get together) so I might not have the most insight on this, but I don't really with there's a deeper reasoning here other than the fact that it's fun.i guess because people just wanted to see them as "normal teenagers" like the marauders, like to remember that before they became death eaters they were boys as well doing stupid things and getting in trouble like everyone else did, and also because they fit well into regulus' potential circle of friends, idk i like the idea that the three of them (evan, barty and reg) were friends in school and then they took different paths where regulus "got" his redemption arc and the others just went insane following voldemort's ideals, i guess i just love angst and it would be a tragic story of how their friendship ended tbh

For a long time we had very few Slytherin students in the Marauders era, and whether we like it or not Slytherin is the most popular house of Harry Potter, people love characters with tragic pasts and dubious morality and also they are characters with very poor description and easy to shape in their personal desire, I don't think that's wrong, but I have no interest in them as characters, to me they're just irrelevent, occasionally appearing in my ideas for fanfics I'll never write, usually as future death eaters

i think the current fandom is less inclined to read/write self-insert fics or OCs, and evan and barty are essentially blank slates that authors can overlay whatever personality they want to that will help fill out their story. also, it’s fun to add characters to the slytherin house during years we don’t know much about. also x2, most fics aren’t writing about them killing people and enjoying it. i don’t think the fact that they were death eaters is the reason people are babygirl-ifying them or wanting to ship them.

this is a very interesting question, and i haven’t thought about it in these terms. personally, as i mentioned briefly in the last question, i hate babygirl-ification in general. i don’t like the way that it infantilizes men, and despite the fact that in this case they’re fictional, i’ve seen it happen with real people several times (dan and phil, crankgameplays, even markiplier a little bit). it has very weird connotations and i just don’t vibe with it at all. he’s not your softboy cinnamon roll babygirl, he’s a man in his 20s. it’s just odd to me, and i’m FTM transgender, so i’ve seen it happen to trans men too and it just feels gross to me. like i’m not softboy cinnamon roll i’m just. a guy. i am literally just a guy. but like in general i hate the concept of babygirl-ifying anyone, as for it being characters without a redemption arc, i think it’s because they got popular in a fic where they were never evil in the first place. i could be wrong, but from what i noticed barty and evan only became liked characters in Just Lovers, which is a no-voldemort AU, meaning they were never death eaters. and they were given nicer roles in the story to serve the plot and further regulus’ character development. like they only got a better reputation because the author needed them to for the plot and they were in a setting where that made sense, and ever since then they’ve been big characters. like i don’t think it’s necessarily about them in canon at all. i think people liked who they were in that one story and it just kind of exploded from there and now they’re being written with redemption arcs in other works too. and really, i don’t see anything wrong with that. i will say i am Not A Fan of those AUs where someone joins the death eaters to save someone else, like james joining for reg, i refuse to touch them. that’s icky to me. but yeah idk. i don’t like babygirl on the whole, i think it’s gross and infantilizing and weird, but as for why these characters are getting that treatment, i think it’s literally just because of a fic they read where they were interesting characters and weren’t morally reprehensible and it’s snowballed from there.

Flora Rosier (1958 - 1986)

My headcanon is that Flora married Nott in an arranged marriage, she was friends with Narcissa and it was this friendship that made her live so long, because Nott tended to be very violent and she wasn't his first wife.

Eventually, not even the grudging respect he had for the Malfoy family was enough and one day he went too far in his aggression.

Flora he had four siblings (Evan 1957, Pandora 1961, Felix 1969).

She called Theo "Theddy" and after her death he never let anyone call him that again.

-everytime Hermione is sad Harry dances with her to light up her mood (in a platonic way)

-I have seen this headcanon on tiktok and i really love the idea about Evan Rosier and Pandora Lovegood being sibling

-After Freds death George dyed his hair, so he does not look like Fred 

-George dying his hair broke Mollys heart 

-Peter absolutly third wheels in his friendgroup 

-the Marauders always try to touch James glasses to mess with him (in a lovingly way)

-on James and Lillys wedding Remus danced with Lilly 

-Pansy is like a little sister to Blaise 

-Sirius always cuddles up to Remus when he had a fight with his parents 

-when the Marauders are not pulling pranks, they sit at the black lake and talk

-Regulus would love the music from Hozier 

-James would love Arctic Monkeys 

-Lilly and Alice make Flowercrowns for the others 

-Mary takes pictures of everyone 

-Harry would get Scorpius a pet Ferret 

Snape has like the longest hair routine 

-when Nevillle is sad he goese to the Greenhouse 

-Luna and Neville are always together 

-Remus and Sirius are both coffee people while James and Peter like tea more
