Test fragments from the Zoom H2n manual, run through the thermal fax machine — German and Chinese editions. Stripped of full comprehension. Translated then retranslated. Flattened. Glitched. Reduced to symbols and layout logic.

These copies will likely feature in the Process Zine H2n spread — not as instructions, but as artefacts of misunderstanding. The choice to use non-English versions reflects a larger theme behind signal // noise: → being deaf in a hearing world → lipreading without language → hearing without comprehension → captioning delayed, distorted, or gone

The machine speaks. You just don’t know how to listen.

The act of faxing itself became part of the piece: recorded via the Zoom H2n in XY mode. Plastic rollers, hums, feeding mechanisms. A sonic body of the communication glitch.

This is about non-meaning as design. Language as texture. Data as residue. The manual that doesn’t teach. The diagram that doesn’t explain. The signal that arrives, but can’t decode.

I'm doing a Gotham Tarot thing for myself and can't decide on The magician. My heart says Duke but my brain says Tim. So pls pick for me, here are the arguments:

Duke:

Mastery, skills, and resourcefulness in his role as The Signal. The Magician uses their talents to effect change. Before developing powers, he used his natural talents in his involvement in the W.A.R. movement, and later on became the only meta-human and daytime vigilante in Gotham. His approach to crime fighting, using tech, tactical skill, and ability to adapt to various situations in his environment and his knowledge of outsmarting criminals/villains, strongly reflect the Magician's resourcefulness. His journey from regular citizen to skilled hero embodies/represents the Magician transformation, and his development and growth as The Signal do as well. Spiritually the magician symbolizes the ability to channel and direct energy/force effectively, and Duke’s powers allow him to manipulate light and darkness which can be seen as a form of channeling cosmic or spiritual energies.

Why not Duke? Yes, he exhibits mastery and resourcefulness, but compared to Tim, Duke’s role is less about the broad application of mastery and more focused on a specific niche in Gotham. His role is relatively new and less focused on grand-scale transformation/mastery. Too niche, not broad enough as the Magician depicts.

Tim:

He is known for his exceptional detective skills, intellect, and strategic mind. As RR, he combines his skills with tech and training, showcasing mastery and competence characteristics. He is highly resourceful, utilizing his skills to solve problems and tackle challenges. His evolution from a skilled detective to a prominent Batfam member, and his role in various capacities, reflect his ability to manifest his potential and effect positive change from regular citizen, to becoming Robin, to Red Robin. Creating positives with each transformation. HE uses how skills to create/employ advanced gadgets, strategies, and techniques to address complex problems, demonstrating the magicians' resourcefulness and inventive qualities. While not overtly mystical Tim could be seen to integrate/bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world action-which could represent the magician's integration of spiritual insights with practical action. His journey also reflects a search for a higher purpose and commitment to realizing his full potential.

Why not Tim? His character is grounded in practical, not mystical skills

(Idk why I decided to do this. This is literally for myself. I'm slowly making my way through the major arcana and deep diving into characteristics and tarot meanings to find the best character/situation for each. 7/22 of the Major Arcana done. Might do the Minor Arcana too)

Im fucking crying has anyone seen the AI diagrams in the Scientific Study yet?

So, there was a Paper published on the 13th February 2024.

It was published in Frontiers in Cell and developemental Biology, titled

"Cellular functions of spermatogonial stem cells in relation to JAK/STAT signaling pathway""

So far so good, right?

Not knowing anything about the topic, youd exepect a regular Paper: full of scientific theories hopefully to be confirmed and used to widen our human horizons with knowledge.

YES. This was a real picture included in the Paper. I think even without looking at rat dicks regularly (or if ever), you can /kinda/ guess this looks wrong.

If you dont know anything about rat dicks (dont blame you) seeing text like "iollotte sserotgomar cell" or "dck" or "di§locttal stem ells" should make you go hm. Mayhaps this may be wrong.

Another graphic shows the JAK/STAT signaling pathway.

This...is wrong. You cant read the labels. Its wrong and theres non existing symbols and letters and just imagine, imagine youre a newbie Student or scientist or even regular non-academic trying to read this.

Its teaches you nothing and only gives false information.

Of course, this paper passed /2 reviewers/ who said nothing is wrong with it!

This is absolutly unacceptable. Luckily the paper has been retracted now (16.02.2024)

But this is unacceptable. It should never have passed ANY reviewers and saying their job is to rate the scientific merit of the text without looking at the pictures is pure bullshit.

In a scientific papers, graphics and diagrams should have and need scientific merit and integrity, this is the whole point of writing it!

Shame on anyone for letting it get published and i wish the authors would have commissioned someone or even created graphics themselves- no matter how 'crude' or non aesthetic, any graphic drawn in a scientific manner is a thousand times better than AI. Please, stop using AI for important things like that.

I cant say much to the content of the text, but if this was a great paper- now its forever ruined as the Rat dick paper and i wouldnt trust any of the scientists working on it to have honesty and integrity on new papers. I wouldnt publish them.

Lazyness in academia is one thing, but this is just...so bad its sad.
