And boy did you. You fought those bastards tooth and claw, tearing them to shit both with your weapon and your bare hands. Blood stained your uniform and you could taste the enemies blood in your mouth. You tried your best to sniff out Simons scent but couldn't quite find it until your nose caught a faint trace of bourbon and you ran faster than you thought could ever be possible towards the so familiar smell. You busted through the door of the holding cell to see your mate, your Simon lying there chained, beaten and starved with the faint smell of sex coming off him. That made your inner alpha feral with rage, the possessiveness overriding rational thoughts as you ripped through the people who were in the cell with him, tormenting him with the toys.
Simon was so happy to see you. Finally he could leave this place. The sight of you ripping through the people responsible made his addled brain reel with the rush of need and heat. In the end he had to be sedated so the medics could get him back to base and give him proper treatment.
When you got the news of what has been done to him to say that you were shocked would've been an understatement. The bastards who had him bitched him out and turned your beloved alpha into an omega. Now you weren't mad that he was an omega, you would love him in any form he took but you were livid that someone would do that to another person. The fields of bright yellow contain the unfortunately named crop ‘rape’. It has a much better name in America, where it’s known as Canola. Botanically it’s related to cruciferous vegetables eg broccoli, brussels sprouts etc. and the seed gives a glorious oil for cooking or salad dressings. With a quite delicate flavour, rapeseed oil is naturally low in saturated fat (apparently half or less than that in olive oils) and it’s high in unsaturated fat, so good for health. It’s one of the oldest known vegetable oils and has a much higher smoking point than olive oil. I usually use this oil for making mayonnaise which goes particularly well with the local asparagus when it becomes available - Crow can hardly wait, he loves English asparagus

I’m in the process of washing and drying our haul and turning it into pesto, flavoured butter and sea salt to use up or freeze for later in the year. Some for us and some for family and friends

The butter will be sliced into rounds and frozen for use as and when; the salt will  season baked potatoes, or fish, poultry and grilled meats; the pesto has a range of uses - with pasta of course, on pizza, as a topping for roast cod loin, in quiche. It’s a lovely, savoury accompaniment to so many dishes

Today has felt like the first true spring day and I was not ready for the huge surge of dopamine from the sunshine! Nevertheless, it powered me through and for that I am grateful.
Unfortunately, the cold I caught from my mother lingers but I was all too happy to begin my morning with half a teaspoon of honey to appease my claggy throat. I then welcomed in the morning with a creamy cup of tea with soya milk and researched coding courses until my empty teacup obliged me to get on with my half hour power flow with ‘Yoga with Allie Van Fossen’ on YouTube - a recent and golden find. After that, I showered with my ‘toasted marshmallow’ shower gel and put on a burgundy dress without fear of the cold. I made a breakfast I crave every time I see a ‘that girl’ post online - scrambled eggs on avocado toast - and felt in total bliss while I munched. I then completed half of my number theory exercises while digesting.
Mum and I had fun while grocery shopping this morning and we rounded off the trip with a coconut latte - the caffeine buzz strengthened while I was putting the shopping away until it was undeniably charged and ready for a jog. I haven’t been jogging while it has been cold but this is feeling so good. I need to remember that If We Ever Meet Again by Katy Perry and Timberland is a great song to run to.
Coming home, I did some strength work organised by a beginners workout plan I found on pinterest and had to stop for a second because I was getting so lost in the moment and probably not showing good form. Thankfully, I had a conversation with my brother and afterwards calmed down tremendously... and we did a few squats together. Timmon, you’re the best.
By the time I’d finished, my butternut squash was ready so I made a salad of that and accompanied it with a blueberry cheesecake smoothie using some powder from The Protein Works. It was quite tangy and grainy - if anyone has any suggestions to improve this, I’d be forever grateful.
Following this, I finished number theory and wrote up one of the homework questions but this took a while and afterwards I felt rather drained. I had just enough time to do a 15 minute yoga sequence from Yoga With Kassandra (which was supposed to be for bedtime but was the perfect remedy for my hunched shoulders and reeling mind) before my mum returned from her long afternoon. I was proud of my mum when she said that she still wanted to go for a walk with our dogs to enjoy the beautiful evening. 
After that, I cooked. I should have definitely taken a picture before I started munching but whoops... I should have definitely cooked the cod loin with more seasoning and for slightly less time but the baby corn and potatoes really pleased me. I don’t know why I rustled a cup of strawberries, mango, and vanilla ice cream up afterwards... If there was one thing which would improve today, it would be to eliminate the dessert and have a hug from my boyfriend but here I am without boyfriend and containing fruit... I did do some logic puzzles and write this post, though, and I am about to do some prebed skincare so life goes on.

“Their Most Royal Highnesses, Princess Y/N Lantsov and Prince Aleksander Kirigan!”  Your husband grasped your hand as you entered the ballroom, his smile growing at the cheers of your guests.  Aleksander led you to the banquet table, pulling your seat out for you before taking his own.  He lifted your joined hands to your lips and kissed your knuckles, looking at you as he did.
“My beautiful bride,” he whispered, making you smile.  “I love you so much.”  “I love you too, Aleksander.”  Once more following Ravkan tradition, Aleksander’s mother rose from her seat on his other side, clearing her throat.  “When my son told me that he was courting the Princess, I laughed in his face.  I thought he was joking.  But then I saw how happy she was making him, what he was willing to do for her, and I was convinced.  I did not love my son’s father, but I can see how deeply he loves his wife.”
Baghra lifted her glass in a toast, and the rest of the guests followed.  “My son, I pray that your life is full of nothing but happiness.  And to my new daughter, if he ever gives you trouble, I’ll beat him with my cane.”  You, along with the rest of the ballroom, laughed, raising your glasses in a toast.  Your mother rose next, and the room fell silent.  “My darling girl, I am so very happy for you.  To be a wife is a joy like no other, and I can see that your joy will surpass mine in every way.
“My advice to you is this, love each other and keep no secrets.  Your love will sustain you when nothing else will.”  You smiled, once more toasting your glass.  Aleksander, his hand still in yours, leaned over to kiss you, and you let him, tipping your head back and cupping his cheek.  It was your wedding day, for Saint’s sake, you’d kiss your husband if you wanted to.  When the Queen was seated, the servants brought out your wedding feast.

Throughout the meal, Aleksander seldom took his eyes off of you; letting his hand brush against yours as he reached for his wine, admiring and complementing your beauty, whispering sweet nothings in your ear, hanging on your every movement.  You felt similarly, not wanting to look away from your husband, never wanting to leave his side.  When the meal was eaten and the dishes were cleared, Ivan and Alya made speeches, both boasting about being your friends, your leadership, your kindness, respectively, and the love you shared for each other.
When the best man and maid of honor speeches were finished, Aleksander rose, reluctantly dropping your hand.  “Thank you all for coming,” he said.  “You can say you’re here for us, but we both know you’re all here for Y/N.  And I don’t blame you.  Fortune has certainly been on my side as of late: Y/N allowed me to court her, I was given His Majesty’s blessing, and now, I am Princess Y/N’s husband.

“I didn’t think I could be as happy as I am right now,” your husband said.  Your veil had been removed so you didn’t tread on it, and Aleksander longed to run his hands through your hair, were it not so meticulously pinned in place.  “I know,” you replied.  “Were you nervous?”  Aleksander laughed.  “A bit.  I thought you might not show up.”  You smiled and shook your head.  “Father practically had to keep me from running down the aisle to you.”

Eating Too Many Carbs
