“Excuse me,” you mumbled and moved around the crowded hall, a pair of chatting ladies blocking your path. They sent you a strange look but moved non the less, so you continued with your way.

Life at the keep has been wonderful and very welcoming. The opportunity became clear when your father moved to kingsland at the request of the hand, you followed him in hopes of a better future. Maybe a handsome suitor will fall at your feet for your hand in marriage, yet you were offered something else in the mean time. A chance to be a Lady-In-Waiting for The Queen herself.

Alicent couldn’t keep her eyes off of you since she first laid eyes upon you at the way you carried yourself like sunshine. How beautiful your hair curled, how intoxicating the smile on your lips made her feel. The world seemed to not have touched you yet as you still sang of happiness and innocents. Something the gods must have wished for her — to keep you safe from harm and the cruelties that plague the realm.

As you made your way down the halls you made yourself walk a little faster, trying not to trip down the stairs with your skirts lifted in your hands. You nodded to every lord you passed by, never noticing the lingering eyes flicker down your frame. Once down with the steps you make your way to the old chambers were Your Queen resides. You smile at the guard beside the door. He stepped aside and opened the chamber door with you close behind him.

“My Queen,” you bond your knees and nod your head towards her. She turns from her gaze from out the window to you, your dress matching the same shade of hers.

The knight walks out and shuts the door behind him. Placing your hands together you walk closer and a bright smile forms. Around the queen sat a large selection of sweets that aways called your name and delicious wine made from peach’s, always making you feel good.

Alicent looked between the pastries you laid eyes upon and then back at you, and courageous smile appearing on her face before grabbing a plate herself. “Good morrow, Lady Y/n.” she twisted her tongue while trailing herself closer to the silver trays.

“Good Morrow, Your Grace. I hope the night was kind to you,” you asked sweetly.

Once she gathered a few small cakes she took a seat on the cushions and watched you while you did the same. How comfortable you seemed to always be in her presences. Or the bounce in your steps when you saw sweets, no matter the occasion.

“Fair enough I suppose, as it can be as of late,” she sighed and swirled the cup of wine to her lips. Taking a set across from her you begin to devour the sweets on the plate, your eyes brightening with eat taste.

Alicent kept her eyes on you and continued to watch you eat while something rooted inside her chest and made it sting. Rumors. Horrible whispers have spread to her ears about you — About a betrothal — something she couldn’t let happen. Having you married to someone else, it simply wouldn’t do. A man would crush your spirits, never show you the love you deserved nor treat you like she did.

“Tell me, have you anything important as of late to share?” Alicent questioned while the light made shades on her face and her eyes piercing into you.

Nothing of importance come to mind as you spent most of your time at her side, so not much has happened since the hours of leaving her to rest. “Nothing of note, Your Grace.” she only hummed in reply to think of something you could know.

“You’d never leave my side, would you?” Alicents voice stayed calm and honeyed with her words, and eyes curious above the cup now leaning into her lips.

You rushed to shake your head to deny, jumping almost at the edge of your seat to convince her otherwise.

“No Your Grace. I would never dream of leaving your side as long as you wish as such.”

“Then there has been no indication of a lord asking for your hand?” Alicent questioned you. Nothing to her words spoke to you, nor held any truth to them.

“There has been no word of any engagement of mine, My Queen I assure you. Whoever told you these lies simply must have misheard or played the feddle of lies.” You asserted. The next second you watch her rise to her feet, her dress falling off her lap and a beautiful shade of green you always recognize with comfort and warmth. Alicent stood just before you, and right above you and her difference in height now forced you to look up at her.

Alicent took her fingers and grabbed ahold of your chin. The mood shifted in the air as her presences changed to a unrecognized one, and slight fear dwelled within you. “I couldn’t have someone steal you away, your sworn to be by my side. No man can have you,” she harshly tightened her fingers. A darkness filled her eyes as she stared down at you, and the pain of her hold made you flinch — you had no choice but to obey.

“Yes, My Queen.” You quiver.

She let go and made a cooing sound and dropped a few inches downwards to take you into her arms in acts to comfort you. She rubbed your back with her warm hands and tried to soothe your state.

“My sweet girl, I appreciate your loyalty. I only want what’s best for you. As I am the only one who understands what you need.” She whispers before placing a kiss onto your temple.

another thing that i wanted to talk about in this months beauty column is the DIFFERENCE that blush placement makes. so i was scrolling on pinterest when i came across this chart that talked about blush placement.

when you apply blush a certain way it balances out ur beautiful features and plays around with proportions in such a way that can make ur features more prominent. also the way that u apply ur blush totally changes the way that ur makeup looks.

for example when u apply blush to the apples of ur cheeks it gives a more youthful and glowy effect. when u put blush high on ur cheekbones it gives a more lifted and sculpted look which is where the blush chart comes in. depending on ur face shape u can determine which style of blush placement complements ur pretty face the best 💗

FASHION FLOPS VS FASHION BOPS ;

in this column, lets look at some old and new fashion trends and see which trends are flops and which ones are bops. my sources include vogue, and glamour magazine…💬🎀

according to vogue, statement gowns are OUT and discreet chics are IN. discreet chic is mixing basics in minimalist yet compelling ways. this includes things like trench coats, pencil skirts, trouser suits and good jeans.

according to glamour magazine, crisp whites and butter yellows are trending this summer. along with sequins and basics like denim pants and white t-shirts, polished kitten heels and mary jane flats also. the styles that are trending for this summer are boho 3.0 and little white dresses.

something i can DEF get behind is little white dresses. its like a blank canvas on which u can make the outfit into whatever you want. personally i would style a tiny white dress with chunky bracelets and wedges/kitten heels…💬🎀

LETS TALK MANIFESTATION ;

manifestation techniques are overrated - all you have to do to manifest is affirm -> persist. thats essentially all you have to do and when i first started i was so caught up in techniques and routines that i wasn't even affirming/persisting. i was doing anything and everything and i saw manifestation as a process and manifestation is NOT a process. when i shifted that and realized that manifesting is instant and all techniques are for funsies, the pressure was taken off.

saturating is simply soaking ur mind in the fact that u already have what u want. i do this with affirming, some people do other things to saturate but affirming is the most simple for me. just think as if u have it over and over and over again…💬🎀

Food Fight Ending II

You noticed that Azul had sent you text, and opened it immediately. You didn’t fear the worst, per se, but it was good to check.

Azul: Hello Prefect, I hope I’ve contacted you at a good time. I would like to set a time to meet with you again, would tomorrow work with you?

Azul: I may have to amend our contract, if you would allow me. Something between our transaction has come up, that I cannot deny anymore.

You frowned, scanning the message again. Your mind wandered, does he know why I made the deal with him? It was true that you were struggling a bit in Trein’s history lessons, and sure Alchemy was hard, but you could’ve handled it on your own. But somehow, despite that, you were sort of glad to have an excuse to talk to Azul after having him on your mind for so long.

You kicked your feet as you responded with a Sure. You wondered what it would be about. Your eyes slowly drooped. As you went to sleep, you thought, guess I’ll find out soon.

Azul tore his eyes from the phone screen, pushing up his glasses. It’s getting late, he glanced at the clock as he stood to leave his office desk. The Lounge would close soon, and he needed as much time as possible to prepare for you tomorrow.

He stepped into the Mostro Lounge kitchens, finding Floyd humming while he sautéed some vegetables. Jade was by the ingredients rack, holding a mushroom that was undoubtedly from his latest club excursion. Azul cleared his throat, “the Prefect has agreed to meet me tomorrow.”

The words went unspoken between the three of them. The twins shared a grin, and for a moment Azul almost regretted telling them. “It pleases me to hear you’ve moved up the timeline, Azul,” Jade chuckled, “will you be needing assistance?” Azul glanced at Floyd, and immediately he complained.

“No way I’m wakin’ up early to work, even if it’s for Shrimpy!” Floyd whined. Azul shrugged calmly, “perhaps you could have a week off from working?” Floyd went quiet, crossing his arms, pouting. Azul sighed, “two weeks?” Floyd grinned, “m’kay!”

Jade chuckled, stopping when Azul said “I’ll need your assistance, too.” After seeing the look on Jade’s face, Azul sighed in exasperation, “fine, I’ll let you put mushrooms in the Lounge food for a week.” Jade beamed.

The next day, you woke up really craving fries and pasta. Specifically, the fries and pasta you had when you were studying with Azul. Luckily, there’s some leftover in the fridge. The pasta was wonderfully rich after you warmed it, but the fries lost their crispiness. Still, the savory taste satisfied you.

You patted Grim on the head and dropped him off to Alchemy remediation. You got him to stop whining out why do you get to go an’ eat while I hafta work?! by telling him you were meeting Azul. After that, you headed through Octavinelle, going through the same aquarium halls you and Azul walked through earlier. You thought you’d find Azul at the entrance waiting to escort you, but instead you found him pacing by the private booths mumbling to himself.

“Azul?” He stopped abruptly, plastering a charming smile on his face. “Prefect! Please, sit down.” He pulled out a chair for you, seating you at a small round table. Much like your study dates (you felt warm when you realized you thought of them as dates), Azul served your dish to you. He cleared his throat. “Perhaps we could eat before discussing?”

The two of you settled into a quiet peacefulness. Your silverware clattered against the dishes heard over soft music played by the Lounge speakers. Your appetizer was delicious - perfectly juicy, the vegetables crunching delicately as you chewed. In the lull, Azul focused on you, smiling softly as he picked at his dish nervously.

You noted Azul’s quietness. He almost always had something to say. He cleared his throat softly, before pushing his plate away. “Before we get to the main course, I would like to speak with you.” You put down your fork, as he took the plates away and sat back down. He pulled out your golden contract, and the fishbone quill.

You looked at him with confusion. “You said something came up? Did…” you went quiet, feeling nervous, “have I violated the contract?” Azul shook his head, feeling even more nervous, “no, (Name)… rather,” he took a deep breath, looking away “I violated the contract.”

Your eyebrows shot up as Azul continued. “I have been using the contract for my own personal gain, because I…” he glanced back at you, “I wanted to become closer to you. I used it to spend time with you.”

“I think I violated the contract too, then.” Azul stopped in disbelief. You confessed, “I wanted to spend time with you too.” You couldn’t hide the smile growing on your face, and it encouraged him to speak. Azul took a deep breath, “I like you, (Name).” Even though a weight suddenly lifted off of him, it still made both of you flustered.

A blush grew on his face, “a-and if you agree,” he cleared his throat, “perhaps we could… make a new contract?” You grinned dazzlingly at him, launching yourself out of your chair and wrapping your arms around him. You laughed as you heard him yelp before hugging you back. You kissed the mole under his lips, “of course.”

The original conversation went a bit different, Momo ends his message with “好きピ= sukippi”, Momo later on explains that it’s a combination between 好き=suki (like) and ピーポー=people (pi=ピ), which means a “favorite person” even if it’s sometimes used on objects and such. The closest and most “literal” translation would be “fave”, but I doubt Torao wouldn’t know what a fave is so I went with bias instead.

Your socked feet quietly stalk along the hardwood. Groggily trying to evade triggering the call of creaky floors. Led between the cracks of unpolished maple right up to the wide open doorway. 

Gaze not deceiving you for once. Moon sat alone on the porch, huddled into himself. So often darting away from you, you half expect his nimble limbs to straight up and bolt away from you into the forest. 

Polite statement radiating hollow, you could do better than that. Sitting down next to him, the squeak of protest from worn down steps earning you a twitch of his faceplate. 

But you're not getting your hopes up. "Hey," You say, barely above a murmur. Tightening the throw blanket wrapped around your shoulders. Hesitantly moving forward past the burn out porch lights. It shuffles further away from you, evading you entirely. But not running, not bolting. "Good to see you." 

"go sleep." He tuts. Tone lacking the heeded warning it usually had. No walled in corridors anymore to chase you in, free reign surrounding you. Left fumbling on if that had been the reason you've barely seen him since the 'Plex. Sun having no answers, and leaving assurances in place of words you'd just needed to hear. 

If it's more freedom he'd wanted, that they'd both wanted, you'd be more than happy to oblige. More than happy to help if they'd just stopped reverting back to old habits. Shutting you out of whatever was happening. 

"Go charge." You settle on. Sliding ever so slightly closer to him proves to be a mistake. Balancing himself half off the top step at this point, goosebumps of shame prickling along your neck. Face flush as you pull back again. "Sorry-.. I just- I missed you—" 

Words crumbling out into the open air. Brisk crispy breeze cupping your cheeks, as you hear another squeak. Much too sharp to emit from wood, but, there's no solace to be had if your fretting breaks the stairs. Facing his direction upright, you catch him holding a throw blanket bundled in his lap. Little time to really question it. 

"I couldn't sleep, doesn't look like you could either. I—" 

The folded bundle on their lap, rustling and squeaking. Their widened eyes meeting yours, clutching the displeased creature tighter. 

In the end, little feisty claws are no match for his clutches. A raccoon, bolts from under the covers and out into the open. Blurry haze of fur illuminated by startled, scattered fireflies. 

Statute no longer hunch, sprawled out along the steps in woeful defeat. That solves one problem. 

You know the answer. You know. 

"You were trying to bring that inside?" You ask anyway, deadpan. 

"it's small, and alone." He mumbles. "likes peach slices." That. Explains why the peaches kept going missing, and Sun's insistence the fruit just goes bad super duper quick. Yet, refused to quit buying heaps of peaches. 

"It's got friends nearby," Leaning against the worn banister. "I'm sure of it." 

Moon hums. An off centered acknowledgement it hears you, but. He's absolutely going to keep trying to bring raccoons into the house. No dice convincing him otherwise. Roaming around the yard, settling to lay down on a patch of overgrown grass. Gaze trailing sleepily between the stars. 

"Is that what you've been doing out here, all this time?" 

"sometimes."  

Crawling over, nestled up against your side in an impressive but entirely unnecessary half roll to get to you. Faceplate pressed flat to the ground, theatrically slumping himself down. Like his whole body had participated in a sigh. 

A click somewhere in his upper casting, chiming alongside you as you'd giggled. Something tells gauges this had been an impatient attempt to whisk the creature inside. 

"We should name it," Names spurring immediately to mind, but you hadn't swaddled it like a baby. Didn't think that gave you any real leeway. "The raccoon." You add. 

Muffled voice eventually piping up from the twilight grass blades. "peaches.”

Note: clothing is so hard for me to write, like the description in a scene just does not compute, so this is mostly for me but more head canons on how their style differs from each other.

TYLER

Tyler prefers earthy tones, favoring browns, tans, oranges, and reds, and avoids obnoxiously bright colors. His clothing choices are practical and understated; he knows what he likes and sticks to it without any flashiness. He has a strong distaste of shorts, preferring to risk heatstroke rather than wear them. Jeans are his go-to choice, and he feels more comfortable in them regardless of the temperature.

His wardrobe predominantly features long-sleeved flannel shirts. This choice is for multiple reasons: it protects his skin from the harsh Oklahoma sun—having been fried crispy a few times—and conceals scars from his rodeo days. These scars, some from being stomped on or thrown against railings, are reminders of past injuries. While he’s not ashamed of them, he prefers to keep them covered, which also explains his dislike for shorts.

For formal occasions, Tyler adapts his style depending on the event. He might dress up a shirt and jeans or don a rarely worn suit, typically for weddings. No matter the formality, he always completes his outfit with a cowboy hat.

Tyler rarely bothers with his hair. He typically just wets his hand and runs it through his hair a few times until he deems it presentable. For exceptionally special occasions, he does own some pomade, though he didn’t even use it for his sister’s wedding.

JAKE

Jake prefers lighter colors, favoring blues, greens, black, whites, and sometimes brown. Being stationed around have made him open to diverse styles, and he enjoys experimenting with adventurous fashion choices. He’s sometimes drawn to shirts with patterns that fit his color palette.

Given his profession as a pilot, Jake opts for short sleeves, as he dislikes being hot and values the comfort of having his arms free, especially when he’s not in his flight suit. While he likes jeans, he also has a variety of pants, including chinos and tailored cargos, to suit different occasions. Living in California exposes him to fashion trends, which influences his wardrobe choices. He often wears a baseball hat to keep the sun off his face. He also has a pretty good selection of shoes.

For formal events, Jake will wear his dress whites or blues if required. Otherwise, he has a selection of suits and blazers in various colors for different occasions. For more casual formal events, he opts for a smart shirt and pants.

Jake styles his hair every morning to meet his personal and navy standards. Even when he’s off duty, he keeps up with his routine and frequently uses pomade. While he occasionally goes for a controlled messy look, he generally prefers a neatly swooped style.

My poor Pinterest algorithm is all Glen now. I searched him once for this and boom. And there’s always some random Miles thrown in there too.
