“Hey ma! How you n the kids doin? You guys aight? Need any help round the house?”
Vincent would oftentimes drop by and visit after the initial greeting you gave him at his own apartment away from the hitman team. You became the highlight of his life the moment those baked goodies hit the pit of his stomach. The Enforcer would happily come over to babysit whenever he had the time, after the two of you got close enough. It got to the point of where your kids were already calling him their favorite daddy. And of course he made no plans to correct them, since they’ve grown on him just as much. To the point of where he’d kill for them. Plus the hitman wouldn’t mind stepping up as a potential father as long as he’d get to eat his future wife’s cooking all day.
Tumblr media
“Listen brat, I don’t like you and I know you don’t like me so how’s about we just come to a mutual agreement and—Ouch! Did you just kick me you lil shiet!”
Covu and your kid will be at odds with each other 24/7 trying to monopolize your time. Using petty tricks and schemes to try and coax you into putting all your attention on themselves alone. This “rich hobo” would try and take you out on some elaborate dates despite him being lowkey most of the time. Just for an excuse to whisk you away from your guard dog of a child who quite literally has a vendetta against anyone trying to take their mother away from them. The Photographer is thankful to them in a way since your kid acts as repellent for any other suitors trying to pursue you. So sometimes he’d leave anonymous gifts to your kid as a reward or transactions for their bodyguard services if you will.
Tumblr media
“…Ahem! Pardon me my lady but I’ve heard that you’ve got trouble putting your little ones to sleep, if you don’t mind I’d highly recommend that you use this melatonin spray so that you can rest more easily”
Rivius, At first would be mildly annoyed at all the ruckus your children would cause next door to one of his laboratory’s he has scattered around Devildom. And like an angry Karen, the devil was about to storm to your apartment and give a regal complaint. But he paused after hearing you breakdown from all the stress of being a single mother. The Archdevil would rub his antler horns feeling a bit distraught at how to go about this issue in a more roundabout way where both of you would benefit. So he came up with a recipe on the spot for a good sleeping remedy for your kids so that both you and him would have some piece and quiet. Long story short you were so grateful that you gave the scientist one of the warmest soul soothing hugs in his life. And he just couldn’t help but get addicted to that feeling leading him to be a constant presence in your life always coming up with ideas or solutions to help you and your kids.

Are your request open? Can I request a sequel to Barbarian?
I know he's kind and everything but I don't think I could give in to him 100%, like yes, probably return the kindness but never love him. Reader feels a lot of guilt about the attack and I think that after the event and realizing that they didn't have much to do in the situation, they just felt numb about everything, living on autopilot except when they are with their dog.
This is just my interpretation and basically a self insertion sorry haha.
I would love to know about their daily lives! Does the barbarian take reader to war with him? (If you delve deeper into my idea) Would he realize that reader doesn't talk to him much? Would he be jealous of the dog?
Requests are always open, I love to hear about people’s thoughts on my silly little characters lol.
I did focus more on the barbarians perspective on the relationship rather the actual complexity of the whole thing and psychological depth of it all, it was a rather shallow Drabble but I’d love to expand more on his character. I’ll see if I come up with any domestic short stories for him in the coming weeks, love that idea thanks :)
Yandere!Barbarian X GN!Reader Headcanons
Tumblr media
The barbarian himself isn’t a good person, morally or in any other way, and he knows that. He understands what he’s done to you -pulled you away from everything you’ve ever known or loved leaving it all in tatters- he understands he’s killed innocent and guilty all the same and will continue to do so for the clan to thrive. And he doesn’t feel bad about any of it.
He definitely tries to sympathise with how his greed effects you, but, he doesn’t regret his actions but does understand to an extent how hard this is for you. This is why he tries to over compensate by gift giving and finding it within himself to be gentle and patient, so as not to damage you further (despite that being the polar opposite of how he was raised).
He’s not super emotionally intelligent so doesn’t really know what to do aside from the above. Anyone with common sense will learn fast that they can’t fight him off so it’s very possible to become numb and retreat into the mind. If you wont retreat into his arms he will try make it so you feel comfort in his tent that way you’re not always on autopilot but enjoying a craft or something in your quiet tent if even just for a hour.
Honestly though he doesn’t really mind if you’re on autopilot but does expect you to tolerate him, so if you are adamant on distance or fighting him you might trigger his temper. Like pulling and tugging you around, making you sleep in the same bed no exceptions, raising his voice to remind you who you’re trying to challenge etc.
A very tearful darling is a whole other situation, he cant stand seeing you cry, he’d be sobbing, crying, throwing up on the inside while trying to maintain a poker face and think up a solution.
Onto a lighter topic, the barbarians do move camp every few weeks and that includes reader (dont worry he never makes you walk) they don’t have a permanent home just their tents though our barbarian does intend to settle down at some point once the fighting becomes to much hassle for his ageing bones. But never once does he imagine bringing you into one of his raids, rebellions or battles.
He leaves you at camp with the members that aren’t participating that particular day (like the few women, elders or barbarians that just didn’t go-nobody’s forced to fight every battle, just to pull their weight). And of course your beloved wolf dog who he doesn’t regret, he doesn’t get jealous easily especially of the dog he got you for the soul purpose of cheering you up, if he can’t cheer you up at least the dog can and that’s a win in his books.
He’s really not high maintenance, as long as at the end of the day he load up your plate with his finest hunt and sit near you while you both eat, watching whatever fight breaks out in the clan from a safe distance before he has to eventually step in. There’s not much entertainment in the middle of the woods during the evening so you both take what you can get even if it’s drunken fight.
Maybe he takes you and the dog out for walks or fetch if it gets really boring at camp. Will bring you the best stick he finds for you to play fetch with the dog, he sees how much the dog means to you so he treats it with utmost respect. He’ll let you have control over this one little thing in your life for your own sakes.
Therefore while he would prefer you to love him truly, he doesn’t expect it (mostly because half the time he can’t tell the difference between your compliance and you showing affection), doesn’t stop him from trying though. He’s a saint compared to the barbarians before him... only for you though.

Okay, so... I just realized something. No one told Marinette to keep information from Cat Noir until Syren. She was the one who didn't think to tell him about the spellbook, and she was the one who showed up to Fu's without him. In Volpina, The Collector, Robostus, and Sapotis, the idea of Cat Noir knowing is never brought up, mostly because Marinette and Fu don't talk about him. This makes Syren look really weird when you think about it. We suddenly have Fu saying that it isn't the right time and the episode acts like those aren't Marinette's secrets to tell, when this wasn't a factor in any of Fu's previous appearances.
Now, I'm not trying to defend Fu here. He's supposed to be the mentor here—even if Marinette doesn't think about Cat Noir, he has the responsibility to. It certainly is a writing choice is what I'm saying.
---
Considering the priorities of the writers, they most likely didn't think of it either. They tended to ignore Cat Noir's role in things even before the retool. It could be they totally forgot that Cat Noir was also a factor in the team dynamics. I'm guessing, depending on the writing order, ‘Syren’ could be the justification to keep him in the dark after they realized that Marinette keeping him in the dark of her own volition would make her look bad if anyone thought more deeply on it, and supposedly they figured the audience just wouldn’t question Fu’s authority in the matter, since he’s the “wise, old mentor” archetype. The writers tend to think giving some throwaway excuse is enough to justify everything they pull in the show.
That's why the show is so quick to give excuses every time Marinette does something hurtful towards others instead of just, you know, having her learn to not do it. The idea that people watching could disapprove of Marinette’s actions is too horrifying to them, she couldn't possibly do something actually wrong, so they try to explain everything away to justify her, either right away or retroactively when they realize fans actually have issues with something Marinette has done instead of just accepting that the hero protagonist can do no wrong by virtue of being the protagonist.
Miraculous, I feel, moralizes secret-keeping way too much. Alya and Marinette have a big debate on whether they’d reveal they were a hero to their respective bestie or not in ‘Sapotis’, where Marinette “wins” by virtue of Alya, under Ladybug's orders, not telling Marinette in her civilian persona that she’d become a hero by the end of the episode. The debate was “I’d tell you because I tell you everything” versus “I’d not tell you to keep you safe”, with Marinette acting kinda smug about it, like the writers considered this the ultimate “gotcha!” that the fandom is using for all secrets Marinette chooses to keep now.
“She’s keeping people safe,” she maybe thinks that, but how does that work in practise? Generally, the idea of not telling a loved one about your heroics is to keep them from getting involved and getting hurt, but Marinette is the one getting her friends involved by giving them Miraculouses. She breaks that safety justification herself. The show also raises the possibility of Hawk Moth lifting this information from their mind if they ever got Akumatized, but Marinette herself has almost gotten Akumatized but could avoid the butterfly with Tikki’s encouragement. The solution to getting Akumatized is to not leave your secret-keeper alone when they’re upset. Also, the show later reveals that this is a nonissue, because Kagami, who knew Ladybug’s identity, got Akumatized with Hawk Moth being none the wiser she knew, meaning Hawk Moth can’t read minds to that degree, but, to be fair, the heroes probably didn’t know that. I think most Miraculous holders' decision to reveal or hide their identity from their loved ones is one that's based on what they consider most functional and is, in fact, not based on morality at all.
So, here’s the question we should actually ask about Marinette’s secret-keeping: when you keep  a secret that “isn’t yours to tell”, is it really a moral choice or simply a choice? The thing about keeping secrets in real life is that it, by itself, isn’t a moral or immoral act. It’s what your secret-keeping accomplishes that determines whether you made a moral choice. Of course you're not gonna tell your friend your other friend is planning to throw them a birthday party if you want it to be a surprise, but, if the birthday hero just told you they're planning to go out on that date and time, it's just practical to let them know your shared friend has something planned for that time. It's not a moral choice what you do here, simply a practical one.
If your friend comes out to you about their sexual or gender identity, this secret deals with your friend’s personal life and really is no one else’s business. Keeping that secret is, of course, good. If your friend has queerphobic parents, revealing the secret to them would put your friend in danger, so it would be bad to tell.
If your friend told you they’d murdered one of your classmates in cold blood and had hidden the body, you keeping that secret makes you an accessory to murder and you could face legal charges. However, your personal moral code also applies here. Would you be cool with murder if the victim was also a murderer and killed your best friend’s sister? Would you be against murdering but even more against betraying your friend by getting them caught for a crime they committed? What if your friend murdered an innocent person and you both know this and your friend tells you they plan to kill again because they’re actually a serial killer and keeping their secret means more innocent people will die? Then it would undeniably be bad if you chose to keep that secret.
There are more important things to consider than whether or not a secret is “someone’s to tell”, like actual harm coming to people because of secrets that should be kept or revealed.
The matter of secrets is that we need to take into account who they affect. The things Marinette keeps from Cat Noir: the grimoire, Fu, her training, Rena Furtive becoming a permanent member, are all things that affect Cat Noir. I’m sure Cat Noir would like to know the history of the power he wields. I’m sure Cat Noir would appreciate some guidance and training too instead of being left to flounder and try to figure things out alone. I’m sure Cat Noir would like to know what backup is available in tight situations, especially if Ladybug herself isn’t available to be Rena Furtive’s sole contact. The excuse that these aren’t Marinette’s secrets to tell, because they’re Fu’s or Alya’s, are just excuses. These are Marinette’s secrets, because she’s benefiting from something she’s actively denying Cat Noir access to.
Her secret-keeping is even more questionable in the season five finale with Gabriel’s evil deeds, Hawk Moth’s identity and Adrien’s status as a Sentimonster. These secrets directly influence Adrien, his ability to recover from how his father treated him and his ability to keep himself safe when his free will can be easily hijacked. This information doesn’t just affect Adrien, it’s information he needs. And the stans are justifying Marinette keeping this information from him with “it’s not Marinette’s secret to tell”, implying the responsibility should be shifted to anyone else but their precious idol. Well, here’s what I think of that: these secrets are also not Marinette’s to keep.

Month 13 - Newleaf
“Ghost!” shouting and the clattering sound of someone scrambling up the loose metal roof of the shed woke Ghost up from his sleep with a start. He groaned, the sudden movement tugging at the stiff scar-flesh on his side. “Ghost! Ghost, are you here?!”
“Yes!” he shouted back, sounding like a poked bear. Groaning again, he stood and slipped out from his nap spot tucked in between two warm, silver vents and onto the roof proper. He squinted at the ginger shape hauling itself over the edge of the roof, his left eye still mostly swollen shut from the hot and tender scarring on his cheek. Once she stood, he recognized Lizzie from her alert and dutiful posture, although he noted the way her pupils were blown wide and her tail was half bristled.
“Sorry to wake you, sir!” she said loudly. “I have urgent news!”
“What is it?” he asked, running his tongue over his chest fur tiredly. He really didn’t want to have more problems to deal with right now and her natural volume wasn’t helping his ever present headache.
“There are wild cats in the city!” she reported and he immediately looked up.
“Have they killed anyone?” he asked, heart starting to pound.
“No, sir, rumor has it they’re here to talk to Razor!”
Ghost sighed in disappointment. “This won’t end well…” he grumbled. “How many of them?”
“Two, sir, both elderly she-cats,” said Lizzie.
“What?” His fur bristled.
“Two elderly she-cats, sir,” the girl repeated, her eyes darting up to the places where his ears used to be. Milo had taken extra satisfaction in tearing each of them to shredded stumps.
Ghost shook his head to get a grip. “Right. What did they look like?”
“Um,” Lizzie hesitated thoughtfully. “The bigger one was white and grey, the smaller one all grey.”
“Shit,” Ghost cussed, lurching towards the edge of the roof with a brisk but wobbly walk. “And you said they were going to see Razor?”
“Yes, sir,” Lizzie said. He could hear the confusion in her voice, the question she held back. Jagg would have asked it, he thought, ‘do they mean something to you?’ He thanked the Folk for Lizzie’s obedient nature.
“Thank you, Lizzie,” he said, leaping down onto the roof of the shed. It rattled loudly, making him wince, and he quickly bounded from there to the ground. He didn’t wait for her to respond or follow, he just started moving.
What was she doing here? The description could only be Miss Smoke but he had no idea what business she would have with Razor. Had she come to see him instead and been intercepted? Were the Clans surrendering? Either way, he knew that she was not going to be safe until she left the city. His muscles burned in protest as he darted across roads and under fences, cutting the shortest path he could to Razor’s yard.
He slowed right before he reached the hedges and peered through the leaves. Razor was lounging on the edge of the slightly raised deck, Gingersnap sitting bolt upright behind him. Tiger sat close by on the grass and ahead of them stood Sardine and Smokyrose, another Clan cat Ghost couldn’t name close behind.
Smokyrose was speaking. “-conditions for peace. If you have a list of terms, I can bring it back to Goldenstar and we can start moving towards an equitable solution.” She sounded unsure of herself but trying her best.
“Hmm,” Razor said, regarding her with slit pupils and a tail twitching with interest. “I’d love to speak to Goldenstar myself. Would that be possible?”
Smokyrose nodded, getting a little bolder. “It’s definitely a possibility. If you give me a time and place I can try and arrange a meeting.” She seemed so naively unaware of Razor’s true intentions. Something inside Ghost kicked in to high gear and he found himself striding out towards the gathered cats. All eyes turned to him, Razor’s narrowing darkly.
Smokyrose gasped, eyes going wide. “Ghost! Oh, Stars, what happened to you?” She hurried in his direction, ears pressed back, gaze flickering over every bruised and battered inch of him.
“Uh,” he didn’t know what to say, wasn’t sure what his plan had been, only knew that he couldn’t leave her alone with Razor any longer. He watched the tom’s face, paralyzed, as Smokyrose came to hover around him. Razor smiled.
“I didn’t realize you two were acquainted,” he said. Ghost heard the dangerous interest in his voice but Smokyrose, bless her soul, didn’t know any better.
She turned back to him and said, “Oh, yes. Ghost and I are-” she paused, looking back at him, and he saw the uncertainty in her eyes, “we know each other.” Guilt sank its claws into his throat and pulled down until it was tight and painful to swallow.
“Is that so?” mused Sardine.
“Yes,” Ghost said carefully. He looked at Smokyrose, her pretty face pinched in a worried pout, and whispered, “Miss Smoke, you really shouldn’t be here, it’s not safe.”
“Not safe?” she whispered back, louder than he would have liked. “Ghost, what happened to you?”
“Let me explain,” Razor said, leaping down onto the grass. “Come here, both of you.” He beckoned with a paw as if he were going to tell them a casual secret. Smokyrose hesitated, eyes on Ghost, and Razor insisted with a, “Come onnn, it’s alright.”
The other Clan cat growled softly, tail starting to lash. Gingersnap looked like a deer in headlights, her tail curled tightly against her body, her eyes wide, ears pressed against her skull. Ghost glanced at her briefly and she shook her head so subtly he almost missed it. Unfortunately, Smokyrose was already on her way over. Ghost followed, trying to stick close to her.
As they reached Razor, he put his tail around Smokyrose, making eye contact with Ghost as he did. “You see, Ghost and I had a bit of a disagreement because a little birdie told me he was trying to steal my girl. This was our way of settling things, although, I’ll admit, I’m still a bit angry with him.” His tone was light and playful but it sent fear straight through Ghost’s heart.
Smokyrose recoiled in terror. “Y-you did this to him?” Razor’s paw wrapped around her shoulders and pulled her back into him. Ghost’s jaw tensed possessively.
“Me and a few friends of mine,” Razor said nonchalantly. “He just doesn’t listen if you ask him nicely.”
“Razor,” Ghost tried, voice sounding small as it squeezed its way out of his throat. “Again, I’m sorry about all of that. But she has nothing to do with this.”
“I don’t like your tone,” Razor growled. “But it’s alright. I’ve thought of something that will put the whole dispute to bed.”
Ghost hesitated. He didn’t know where this was going but he didn’t like it. “What’s that?”
Razor smirked victoriously. “This,” he said. In a blur of movement, his other paw came up to wrap around Smokyrose’s chest. The force of the movement knocked her backwards, onto the ground, and Razor followed her, teeth flashing. Smokyrose screamed.
“Don’t-!” Ghost tried but it was too late.
Razor had his teeth clenched around her neck, one of his canines poking through the soft flesh under her chin, and with a sharp twist of his head there was a nasty snap of bone. Smokyrose choked out a cry of pain, blinking back tears. Razor adjusted his grip and twisted again, her neck giving another disgusting crunch. Her body went limp, the only movement a feeble twitching in her feet.
Razor dropped the body to the grass and licked his lips. “There,” he said, “now we’re even.”
Across the yard, the second Clan cat took off in a sprint for the fence. Sardine yowled and lunged after her but she leaped nimbly out of his claws and disappeared through the shrubs.
“Dammit!” hissed Sardine. He looked back at Razor, a simmering anger slipping through his mask.
“Well, get after her!” Razor bellowed, “she could be useful!”
“Of course,” Sardine smiled, tail lashing bitterly, then he took off after her.
“You too,” Razor snapped at Tiger. The ginger tabby growled but heaved himself to his feet and bounded after them.
“Razor, how is this even!?” Ghost cried, unable to look at the cooling corpse at his feet. He was furious and queasy and tired and distraught. His mind was searching for something he could have done differently, some way she could have survived. If you hadn’t arrived, it said, he would have sent her home just fine.
“You went after my girl, I went after yours,” Razor snorted, prodding the body.
“You killed her!”
“So?” Razor narrowed his eyes. “She was a savage! She deserved it. Besides, I’m sure you have plenty of other girls who are just fine.”
Ghost couldn’t muster a retort.
“Now get rid of this thing,” Razor said curtly. “I don’t want my Folk finding it when they get home.” He turned away and strode back towards the deck, leaving Ghost to stare down at the silent scream etched onto Smokyrose’s features, the unnatural angle of her head.
Distantly, he heard Razor saying, “I’m sorry you had to see that, dear.”
“I feel sick,” Gingersnap said softly. “I think I want to go home.”
“I’ll walk you,” said Razor.
Ghost looked up just in time to catch Gingersnap looking at him, horrified. She quickly ducked her head and slipped out of the garden at Razor’s side, leaving Ghost alone with the body. He stared numbly for a long time.
This is what he got for caring, wasn’t it? If he’d shut Smokyrose out of his heart, if he’d stayed away, she wouldn’t have died and they both could have gone on with their miserable lives. His kits were orphans now. Well… they were practically orphans. They’d be better off orphans. It wasn’t like he would have been a good father anyway.
He scoffed, laughing as he tilted his face to the sky. Who was he kidding? Pretending he was going to step up and be there. He was the same as he ever was, a solitary tom wishing for something he wasn’t brave enough to hold onto. He had been foolish to even think he was capable of changing.
He bent down and took the body by the scruff, moving roughly to pull it from the garden and into some dark alley or abandoned side street. The Folk would find it and take it away and the rest of his decency with it. Good. He was better off this way.
UPDATES: - Smokyrose is murdered by Razor. - Songdust goes missing.

Wish Rewrite
Thought I’d try my hand at rewriting Wish for fun. In my version, Asha is Magnifico's daughter. This gives them a more compelling relationship, a more plausible reason for Asha to find out his secrets, and officially makes Asha a royal princess to boot. Additionally, Magnifico is a sympathetic tragic villain, and Amaya has passed away. While I would love to see a fully evil version of Magnifico that’s better written, along with an evil Amaya (I LOVE @hah-studios‘s version here), my version of the story features a twist that heavily depends on his relationship with Asha.
Of course, this version would be 2D animated (or at the VERY LEAST have more ambitious and stylized CG that perfectly mimics 2D), and have songs written by people with actual musical theater backgrounds.
I am not a writer, so I apologize for the disjointed and clunky ideas.
Opening Storybook
“Once upon a time, in a world of magic, on an island in the Mediterranean Sea, there was a little kingdom called Rosas. The harvests were never quite plentiful, the town was barren and gray, and the work was long and hard. The people of Rosas knew life could be better, and spent many days wishing it were so.
“A young man, who called himself Magnifico, spent years studying magic to become a master sorcerer, in order to better the lives of those around him. He believed magic was the solution to make one’s deepest desire come true. The King of Rosas was impressed by Magnifico’s skills, as was the king's daughter Amaya. Magnifico and Amaya fell fast in love and soon wed, becoming the new king and queen of Rosas. Together, they brought joy and prosperity to the kingdom. It was a celebrated occasion when the queen announced she was with child.
“Unfortunately, the queen fell ill and died shortly after giving birth to the princess. The king was saddened by the loss of his wife, but he vowed to raise his daughter to become a worthy queen like her mother, and to better himself as a sorcerer so that such tragedy would never befall anyone ever again.”
Young Asha and Magnifico
Every Disney heroine this era has had an intro flashback of them as a child, so it only seems fitting Asha should get her own as well. We cut from the storybook to a scene of Magnifico, with a visible gray streak in his mostly brown hair, showing young Asha the stars before tucking her into bed.
She asks if anyone wishes on the stars anymore. Magnifico explains that people stopped doing that because the stars never answered. Perhaps the stars could be magic, but no one has ever been able to study them because they're so far away. Perhaps one day.
🎶 At All Costs is reframed as Asha's lullaby.
Transition
Asha finally falls asleep and Magnifico kisses her on the forehead. Camera pans up to the night sky before fading to black. For a short moment, there is complete darkness, then some very faint sparks of light. Someone is calling Asha's name, but their voice sounds very far away, before it’s suddenly clear and Asha wakes up; it is morning. We are now in the present and Asha is 17. This establishes that she's always had the same odd dream of a dark void with faint sparks for as long as she can remember.
Present Day Asha
Asha is studious and hardworking, but is frustrated that her father does not trust her with more important duties. Magnifico is training her in magic to succeed him, or at least he promised he would, but he seems hesitant to teach her more advanced magic than the basics. Asha has memorized every law textbook assigned to her, as well as a handful of magic textbooks she snuck from her father’s study.
Today Asha is going down to give a tour to new visitors, and she takes this very seriously. Dialogue implies Magnifico was hesitant to let her do this, but eventually gave in, hinting at how overprotective he is. Even more than wanting to prove her worth as a future ruler, Asha wants to connect to the people, and secretly wants a friend her own age.
Dahlia and Simon
In this version, Dahlia is older, and renamed to something like Yuki or Bianca to more subtly reference Snow White instead of Doc. Simon is also older and serves as Asha’s bodyguard, and references the Huntsman from Snow White instead of Sleepy. (Two new character designs would be created to reference Doc and Sleepy, and the seven teens are relegated to one-off townsfolk.) “Dahlia” and Simon are the only people Asha is close with, since her father is reluctant to let her leave the castle except on supervised royal duties. “Dahlia” serves as an auntie figure, and Simon is very understanding of Asha’s frustrations of being cooped up in the castle and occasionally lets her sneak off (but he always emphasizes safety and resourcefulness). She can confide in them when she feels she’s being ignored by her father.
🎶 Welcome to Rosas
The song would be cheery at first glance, but on closer inspection, it’s apparent Rosas has seen better days. There’s some cracks in the buildings, and the murals and statues have lost some of their shine. The townsfolk and Asha explain it’s just a bunch of minor hiccups, and they’re working on it.
The visitors ask if there are rules for wishes being granted. Asha and the townsfolk explain the basic rules (which include no wishing for death or harm, no making people fall in love, and no wishing for the dead to be brought back to life; as a shout-out to Aladdin). Also, Magnifico does not grant them right away, but needs time to make sure the work is done just right. After all, magic is a science as well as an art.
When the visitors ask the townsfolk about wishes that have previously been granted, they're told about relatively simple things, like being given a new food cart or a pet cat. This foreshadows what Magnifico does with their wishes. When the townsfolk are asked if they had ever wished for something more significant, they stumble for an answer. They say they're just content with what they have, but they seem unsure. Some of the townsfolk appear lethargic, and some even slightly fumble during their dance routine, but manage to make the big finale. They ask the visitors if they’ve been convinced to live in Rosas and are given a noncommittal answer, “Too soon to say. We'll just stay the night and see how it goes.” Asha brings the new visitors to her father. (Sabino’s character design can be re-used here as one of the visitors, as he’s no longer Asha’s grandfather in this version.)
Side note, I would love it if some of the townsfolk were given a few notable quirks to stand out. The artbook for this movie was lovely, but in the final film, all the townsfolk sort of blend together into genericness. The only one I can recall from the movie with clarity is the girl who wished to fly and meets “Peter Pan” in the end. Even Ecanto’s “We Don't Talk About Bruno” had memorable townsfolk and most only had a single line of dialogue or less. The seven teens would of course feature in this song number.
Present Day King Magnifico
Magnifico's hair is completely gray and white now, and he’s got wrinkles under his eyes. He seems burnt out from his job, but puts on a professional face for his subjects and visitors. Asha is the only one Magnifico shows any tenderness. But for the most part, Asha feels her father has been distant for a long time.
Magnifico thanks Asha for bringing the visitors and tries to dismiss her, but she argues she should start sitting in on the wish-granting sessions so that she can properly learn to take over from her father. This is an argument they have gone over many times before, and her father finally relents today.
The inciting incident
They begin the consultation, starting with Sabino. Magnifico specifies that the wisher must meditate and reach deep within themselves, and recall their desire with every fiber of their being, which manifests as a wish orb. In this version, while a wish orb contains the many memories of the wish in question, handing it over does not automatically erase the memory of it from the wisher.
When Asha and Sabino’s backs are turned, Magnifico does something to the wish. This hints that Magnifico steals wishes and plants false memories, so that the wisher is unaware that they were granted a false wish. In many cases, Magnifico grants a much simpler wish than what the wisher desired (This is hinted at earlier in “Welcome to Rosas”.). Magnifico finishes collecting wish orbs and tells everyone to come back later tonight for them to be granted. Asha wants to stay and help her father more, but he quickly dismisses her.
Later that night, when Magnifico grants a false wish for Sabino, and Asha is suspicious because she knows it is not what he actually wished for. (Sabino’s wish could still be the same one from the movie, perhaps refined to something like, “I wish to leave a lasting legacy that will inspire the next generation, and that I won’t be forgotten.” And when Magnifico grants the wish, it has been reduced to “Your wish to write a memorable song.” or something along those lines. Side note, in the movie I was totally expecting Asha to tell her grandfather that he already inspires her everyday, so his wish had in fact already been granted, so I was quite disappointed when that did not happen.)
Magnifico deflects and dodges the question, and tries to gaslight Asha into thinking she misheard or misinterpreted Sabino’s wish, and that this is why she’s not ready and should wait a while before she’s taught more magic, and basically shoos her away for the night. Asha is too frustrated at her father to dwell on the discrepancy she caught, and storms off.
🎶 This Wish
This song is reframed to be a more straightforward “I Want” song. In this version, Asha wishes to be taken seriously and supported by her father. She feels quite alone and wants someone to believe in her. “Please stop seeing me as a helpless child. …I wish someone would notice my potential.” Star descends.
Star
Would of course, follow the scrapped shapeshifter design from the artbook. I refer to Star as male here, but I am also open to the idea of them being designed as a genderless character. I also think it would be fun if Star could rapidly switch between art styles when he’s excited (2D classic, CG, 2D sketchbook, 2D Picasso, CG mimicking stop-motion / paper puppets, etc). Maybe he can also occasionally transform into his chibi form from the movie when sneaking around.
Star is very weird, almost like an alien. He seems to have general knowledge of various things on Earth, but can never seem to get them exactly right. For example, he never transforms into a normal animal. There’s always a fantastic element; instead of turning into a normal rabbit, he turns into a jackalope. In addition to having a personality inspired by Peter Pan and Genie, he is also a less chaotic version of The Collector from The Owl House and Discord from My Little Pony.
Star would also be incredibly powerful. Instead of only making animals and plants sing, he can also change their size, color, species in the blink of an eye (and maybe even change their art styles). He can spontaneously conjure random outfits from all time periods (including the future) for the animals to wear. He can also change the shape of the landscape; at one point, Asha could suddenly find herself in the middle of an elaborate maze that Star conjures to tease her.
🎶 “Star’s Song”
A new song inspired by Genie’s “Friend Like Me” and Maui’s “You’re Welcome”. Replaces “I'm A Star”, which I didn’t really like. (It had far too many words to poorly explain weird worldbuilding, and I wasn’t a fan of the rhythm. Though to be fair, I dunno if the worldbuilding in my version is all that strong either, lol.)
Star basically shows off all kinds of weird things he can do with various transformations and conjurings. He elaborates he comes from “someplace beyond the edge of the world” and that he’s often found Earth fascinating, but never found any reason to descend until he heard Asha. There’s something special about Asha he can’t quite put his finger on. This foreshadows the reveal.
Valentino
Quick detour, I don’t hate Valentino. I think there is great story and humor potential, especially in regards to his deep voice provided by Alan Tudyk. Unfortunately, in my version, I felt Asha’s sidekick needed to be someone who could quickly keep up with her. At first I thought about changing him into a bird, but then I thought it would be funnier if he was a pet goldfish and Star granted him the ability to fly and breathe out of water. Fish Valentino is happy to not be cooped up in a pool, but is fond of Asha and content to stay with her instead of flying off. For the most part, he offers moral support and perhaps helps Asha make friends with the other animals, but otherwise I don’t really have many ideas for what to do with him.
The Middle Part
Admittedly, I couldn't come up with a definitive idea for this part. Basically, there needs to be a reason for Magnifico to be occupied and unaware of Star’s presence; a reason why Asha does not immediately tell him about Star. One silly idea I had is Asha immediately tries to tell him, but we turn around and find Star’s conjurings and alterations gone and everything is back to normal. Magnifico brushes this off as Asha having a weird dream and tries to tuck her into bed. Star reappears later and explains he wants to run around and have fun first before being “studied” by Magnifico. Other ideas include:
Asha thinks Star is the answer to Rosas’s and her problems. Star agrees to grant various wishes, and let Asha take the credit, in hopes that her father will notice her and finally take her seriously and teach her real magic. Star thinks this will be a great opportunity to see more of Rosas and have fun, and Asha is frustrated enough with her father being dismissive of her to agree to this.
Alternatively, Star will teach her magic. Problem is, Star’s magic is wild and unlike anything Asha has studied in her father’s books. Star is incredibly powerful and Asha has to constantly ask him to tone it down. She runs around trying to fix the chaotic results of the wishes he grants, and this attracts the attention of her father.
Alternatively, with Star’s help, Asha grants small wishes, and fixes things around town. For the most part, everyone is grateful, except for one grumpy older citizen (maybe an older version of Gabo) who remembers “the good ol’ days” and thinks Rosas needs more competent rulers than Magnifico and Asha. An argument breaks out and attracts the attention of Magnifico. Alternatively, again, this could also be replaced with someone who instead wants a selfish wish like a mountains of riches, or to be king and replace Magnifico, and Asha refuses to grant it, leading to the argument.
🎶 “Not What I Expected”
Montage of Star and Asha granting people’s wishes. Includes lots of hijinks of Star overdoing things and Asha getting Star to undo them (For example, someone asks for a new cottage, and Star conjures a giant mansion with mismatching colors and architectural details, and upside-down rooms.). “Dahlia” and Simon help them to ease tension with the townsfolk, especially after Star reveals himself to be a non-human magical being. The seven teens can also appear here again in one-off gags. Along the way, Star and Asha experience the joy of community and begin falling in love with each other. Star slowly learns about being human and cares about the townsfolk as much as Asha does, and Asha is given the freedom to take charge and be responsible but is also surprised to find just how good it feels to finally connect with the townsfolk after being cooped up in the castle for so many years. Star and Asha both find each other fascinating and full of energy, and are glad for each other's support.
Perhaps there’s a dance with the townsfolk. When earlier during “Welcome to Rosas”, the townsfolk were lethargic and clumsy, here they are more spirited and coordinated. Star is incredibly happy and shines bright, and his light “melts” away Magnifico’s false memory spells. The townsfolk finally wake up and are confused as they recall their true wishes and do not understand why Magnifico lied to them. Asha and Star go to confront Magnifico.
Confronting Magnifico
Star senses something in Magnifico’s study. They find a secret room that holds the records of every wish Magnifico has ever stolen. Asha is in disbelief, but can’t ignore the fact that her father has been distant and negligent of the town for a long time. And maybe this would explain why Magnifico doesn’t teach her magic or let her do anything, because he had no intention of giving the throne to her. They find some documents about using wishes as life force, and conclude that maybe Magnifico was using everyone’s wishes to become immortal. Magnifico walks in on them.
🎶 “Everything I Do”
Replaces "This Is The Thanks I Get?!" and "Knowing What I Know Now" This new song is not quite a villain song. It’s a duet between Magnifico and Asha, of them arguing back and forth. Asha argues to her father that he’s lost sight of his responsibilities and that he only cares about staying in power; Magnifico argues that Asha is naive and could never understand that everything he does is for her benefit, and she argues back how could she when he never tells her anything.
The reveal
Magnifico had an impossible wish: to bring Asha back from the dead. Baby Asha in fact died almost immediately after birth. Magnifico could not bear losing both his wife and his daughter, and desperately wished for Asha to live again. However, no magic can bring the dead back to life. Instead, what ended up happening is a new baby was created from Magnifico’s wish orb. In his anguish, his desire was so strong it brought a new person into being. (Side note; this does in fact mean that the original baby is still dead, so Magnifico had to secretly bury a dead baby to hide the fact that Asha is an artificial human taking her place. Perhaps a bit too morbid of an implication for a modern Disney movie, but my mind likes to go to weird places.)
At first Magnifico was happy. It was a miracle come true. But over time, the magic would run out and Asha would begin to fade. Magnifico used his own magic and tried to wish again to fuel Asha's form, but it took a toll on his health and age. This explains why his hair turned white so quickly. So eventually he began using his subjects' wishes. The more heartfelt and significant the wish is, the more powerful it is, which is why Magnifico ends up replacing the townsfolk’s wishes with simpler things and false memories that didn’t require much magic.
As Asha grew older and became a more complex human, more wishes were needed to fuel her. This is why Magnifico refuses to teach her magic, because he is afraid that she would accidentally use up the magic that makes up her being instead of the magic that a regular sorcerer would draw from the environment around them.
Magnifico grew more desperate to draw in new citizens to get more wishes, while also exhausting more wishes from the townsfolk already living in Rosas, leading them to become lethargic. Keeping track of so many wishes and false memories to cover his tracks took a toll on Magnifico’s mental state. Also a growing bitterness that he has to live with this burden that no else could ever know, and perhaps resenting the people of Rosas for getting to live worry-free.
This is why Star answered Asha's call: she is a living wish who made a wish of her own.
Asha's death
Magnifico and Star fight. Asha gets caught in the crossfire trying to stop it. It’s a heart-wrenching moment as glowing cracks form all over Asha’a body. She looks to her father with absolute terror in her eyes as cracks spread across her face. Her legs snap. Magnifico runs to his daughter a second too late and just fails to catch her body as she disintegrates into stardust.
Star stares in disbelief as Magnifico screams in agony: “YOU COULD HAVE LET ME SAVE HER!” He looks like he’s about to attack Star in revenge, but quickly gives up and falls to his knees.
“...Nothing matters anymore.”
There is no need for an evil book as a lazy plot device. Years of paranoia and bitterness have reached a breaking point with Asha’s death, and now Magnifico’s magic is corrupted green by his anguished heart. He transforms into a monstrous dragon-like creature (in homage to Maleficent). This creature is blind with rage, and in a great roar it bursts from the castle, causing it to collapse. The creature summons storm clouds that cover the sky and fierce green lightning that strikes the town, destroying buildings and terrorizing the townsfolk. Monster Magnifico also spreads a green fog that drains everyone’s energy. As the good king he brought joy and hope, but now as a monster he brings only despair. (Inspired by Madoka Magica, when magical girls turn into witches.)
Star attempts to stop Monster Magnifico while also shielding the townsfolk from harm. Rubble from the buildings collapse and bring the camera to black.
Beyond the Edge of the Universe
A short moment of complete darkness and silence.
Slowly, faint sparks shine in the darkness. Asha’s voice weakly asks, “Where am I? ... Who am I?”
The faint sparks grow into a kaleidoscope of colors. Asha has been reduced to a single spark. Her consciousness floats in the chaotic void beyond time and space, where Star comes from. She quickly feels overwhelmed in this sea of color and sound. It’s a great big cacophony of voices all jumbled together, like musical instruments all playing off-key all at once.
A blue light in the distance grows brighter and closer before it reveals itself to be the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio (Disney's first wish-granter). She welcomes Asha’s consciousness. “Hello, little one.” She explains this is a space between worlds, where the emotions of humanity reach far across time and space.
“Listen carefully…” The Blue Fairy helps Asha’s consciousness tune into the voices of the void to hear the words clearly. These voices will be familiar to the audience.
Asha’s consciousness hears the hopeful, longing voices of Snow White, Ariel, Hercules, Rapunzel, and Moana. (This can include snippets from their “I Want” songs.)
She hears the wicked laughter and the dark, selfish wishes of Maleficent, Ursula, Jafar, Scar, and Facilier. (This can include snippets from various villain songs.)
She hears the sad voices of Cinderella, Belle, Quasimodo, Tiana, and Mirabel at their lowest points. ("There's nothing left to believe in. Nothing." and other such lines.)
(Yes, this basically establishes a Disney multiverse. As I’m writing this, I think visually this could resemble the Ahtohallan scene in Frozen 2, but in space instead of in ice.)
(February EDIT: I randomly thought it was also be a neat idea if all magic in the universe originates from this realm. Pieces of magic fall into the different worlds and adapt to make their own unique rules depending on the world. For example, Cinderella's fairy godmother could come from here, as well as the drop of sunlight that grows into Rapunzel's flower. A drop of magic could fallen into a certain world, becoming a trident and transforming the local sea life into merfolk, who would then go on to build Atlantica. Little sparks seeping to random worlds could also explain certain things in otherwise non-magical worlds, such as why toys and video games come to life.)
Not many humans come here after death, but Asha is a special case, as she is literally made up of hopes and dreams. She is spontaneous life (The Blue Fairy of course has experience in this department.). Asha’s consciousness finds herself moved by all the voices of the dreamers and wishers throughout the universe, and thinks she wouldn’t mind going to sleep forever in this void. She just feels so tired. She almost fades away until she hears Star's voice, her father's voice, and the people of Rosas whose wishes made up her very being. She remembers being human. The spark of Asha’s consciousness shines and she returns to her human form. The Blue Fairy asks her, “What will you do now, little one?”
Asha hears the anguished cries of the people of Rosas in trouble, and she decides she must return to help them. The Blue Fairy smiles, and tells her, “Before you go, there’s someone who’d like to meet you.”
She gestures behind her to reveal Queen Amaya and the baby Asha. Asha is stunned to see them, but is overcome with emotion, and Amaya embraces her.
“I am so proud of you, Asha. I wish I could have stayed and been your mother. Please, take care of your father for me.” Amaya gives her a kiss on the forehead, and the baby Asha gives her a happy giggle. The Blue Fairy tells Asha to close her eyes and think of home.”
Return to Rosas
Asha is reborn in a great big burst of light in the sky and gains a new dress made of starlight. Monster Magnifico has not noticed her and is still rampaging the kingdom. Asha sees Star has been defending the citizens, but is exhausted, and Magnifico finally manages to strike him down. Finished with Rosas, Monster Magnifico turns to the coast, intent on continuing his destruction to the mainland.
Asha descends to help Star get up. He is surprised to see her, but her appearance reinvigorates him, and explains the situation to her. They turn to the frightened people of Rosas and promise them that they will fix this. They take hold of each other’s hand and fly to confront Monster Magnifico.
🎶 Combined This Wish and At All Costs Reprise
Monster Magnifico does not recognize Asha, and tries to strike her, but she and Star conjure a magical shield. They dodge lightning and repel Magnifico’s fire breath. Asha begins singing, determined to reach out to her father. There is a moment where it appears Magnifico has gained the upper hand.
“Dahlia” and Simon are inspired and lead the townsfolk into the song. Asha and Star, combined with the hope of the people of Rosas, shine brighter than ever before, dissipating the fog and melting away Magnifico's monstrous form. The storm clouds are cleared away in a shower of sparks. Asha grabs her father’s unconscious body and holds him tight in her arms as she slowly descends to the ground and sings her lullaby. Magnifico is very disheveled (maybe even a little bit of fanservice with his top torn off), but is otherwise alright. He soon comes to.
"...Amaya? ... ASHA!" Magnifico is in disbelief, but overjoyed to see his daughter alive and well. He embraces her and bursts into tears. “I thought I lost you! I thought you were gone!”
"I was. I disappeared beyond the edge of the universe. But I came back!"
Rebuilding Rosas
They turn to the townsfolk. Asha gives a speech about how not every wish should be granted, but that does not mean they’re not worth pursuing. It just requires careful consideration, and being open to finding a something new. (Someone with better writing skills please step in to write this speech without making it too sappy.)
Magnifico is greatly ashamed of the harm he has caused and steps down as king. Asha understands if the townsfolk do not want to see them anymore, but promises to do what she can to help them rebuild, and to help them pursue their dreams in an ethical manner. Star concurs. The townsfolk, having been touched by her earnestness and genuine emotions from when she helped grant their smaller wishes, embrace her with open arms and express that they would love if she remains their ruler. They are hesitant to forgive Magnifico, but think it's for the best that he be allowed to stay with his daughter.
Cut to some time later, and there is scaffolding all throughout town and the castle. Star and Asha have been using their magic to help with the rebuilding, with mixed results. Progress has been slow, but the people are hopeful. Asha and Star hold daily consultations with the people who were granted false wishes. Some are easy to grant, while others Asha advises that they can pursue on their own. (The girl who wished to fly meeting "Peter Pan" can be re-used here. I honestly thought that was a clever bit. While she could easily fly with magic, I like that the movie implies she'll find more meaning in learning to build a flying machine.)
Asha visits the original baby Asha’s grave. She renames herself. Perhaps to something like Stella? “I loved being Asha, but now I think it’s time I return your name back to you. Thanks for the loan.” She conjures some flowers for her and Amaya's grave, and goes to join the celebration.
🎶 “Finale Party Song”
Asha/Stella, Star, the townsfolk, and even Magnifico join in on the grand finale. Asha/Stella and Star kiss, and Hidden Mickey fireworks light up the sky.
End Credits
While the end credits were cute, I would revise them to include characters from the missing movies (the package films, The Rescuers, Black Cauldron, Meet the Robinsons, etc.). I would also change some of the character selections (For example, I'd have the three kittens represent The Aristocats, instead of just Marie by herself. It always annoys me to no end when they market Marie by herself. I'd also swap out Yokai/Professor Callahan with Baymax. What an odd decision to have Yokai of all characters represent BH6.). And also have some of the characters be animated instead of just still images. (I liked for Cinderella's credit they had a trail of sparkles surround her, but it would have been even better to actually see her transform from her ripped dress to the ballgown.)
Closing notes
There are a lot of things in my version that could use some more polishing, like the build-up to Magnifico's reveal about Asha. There should be at least one scene that foreshadows that the times when Magnifico tucks Asha into bed is when he magically absorbs the wishes into her to fuel her.
In addition to the whole wish theme, I thought it would be neat to also include themes of legacy, to tie in to Disney's 100 Anniversary. Disney Animation has come a long way, but is still capable of making big missteps. With many of the old talent gone, it's understandable that passing the torch to the next generation would make anyone nervous, but despite it all, I do have faith that Disney Animation can make a comeback. They've been through low points before; we just have to wait and see.

Watching The Dragon Prince Season Six Part Six! Moment of Truth. Under the cut as per the usual! This episode will reveal my habit of using more pet names for characters the more distressed I become!
Tumblr media
I’d just like to say that every time the intro plays, I experience a few seconds of intense fear as I wait to see if it’s Callum again. They've done it twice now I am fully expecting them to do it again.
Tumblr media
Oh dang, that is a beautiful opening shot of the sunrise. Absolutely stunning.
Tumblr media
Ohh, Callum honey. I know the feeling, it sucks.
Tumblr media
Aww, Raylaaaa. I love her trying to cheer Callum up with the crown, it's so sweet…
Tumblr media
Ohh... poor Callum... Yeah, that would be a blow to anyone’s self esteem. Especially when we know from The Frozen Ship that Callum's been struggling with the idea that he had already permanently ruined himself by using dark magic.
(Also again, the voice acting is amazing.)
Tumblr media
Oh, you know, that’s a good idea! Since they don’t really need to kill Aaravos they just need to stop him from being freed and the main threats to his status as imprisoned are Claudia finding the pearl or Callum getting possessed. If it’s in the Starscraper being guarded by Celestial Elves, then that’s both problems solved! Claudia doesn’t know where it is and it’d be pretty difficult for a possessed Callum to go get it, especially not before anyone could stop him. Good thinking Rayla!
Tumblr media
OH GOD.
...On the one hand that’s really bad and a serious problem but on the other hand that is so fucking funny. The magic prison you've been carrying wrapped in an anti-magic blanket through the freezing cold is a giant M&M. Sorry. There is no good way to deliver the news, huh.
Tumblr media
Oh, Callum… The way his voice shakes and he sounds so out of breath like he’s having a panic attack. Poor baby.... 🥺
Tumblr media
Oh, Honey…
And of course it makes him feel worse because to him, if it really was Aaravos influencing Callum without him knowing, then it’s confirming that, not only is there the possibility that he could one day become a threat to his friends safety, he actively is a threat to them. And if it was simply an accident, at the very least, there’s something he can do to prevent another accident. If it's an accident, then it's something that he did and something that he can make an effort to not let it happen again in the future. Whereas if it’s Aaravos, there’s nothing he can do. The thing he could have done to prevent Aaravos possessing him is not use dark magic but that ship has sailed. He’d be entirely helpless and it’d be his own fault.
Also, it goes without saying but I’m going to say it anyways: Give Callum’s VA an award, the voice-acting is so good, the franticness, the hyperventilation. It’s so good.
Tumblr media
Ooh, I love this style of flashback. I love the way that it’s the same artstyle as the credits and how it makes perfect sense since in-universe, Viren’s writing all this down on a piece of parchment. Also, I think that this is first time we’ve heard Lissa’s name in the actual show! I love how you can already see that Claudia got her hair-texture from Lissa while Soren got his from Viren.
Tumblr media
Soren with his little dragon plushy!!!! I'm going to start crying...
Tumblr media
Hmm. I know it’s probably just coincidence, but the fact that Soren seemingly had a terminal respiratory disease makes me wonder if maybe he had the same condition as Callum’s father, since Callum said that Damian had “some sort of terrible breathing sickness.”
Tumblr media
THE QUOTE FROM HARROW!!!! OUGH! “Claudia and I are still searching for a creative solution." "Call it what it is. Dark magic." vs "I found a creative solution. I suppose I should call it what it is, dark magic." The growth.
Tumblr media
Oh?? I’ve always been curious what it is about the staff that enhances dark magic since it doesn’t come from a specific primal source. Usually, it comes from taking the life force of living things, but how does a staff help with that? Hmm…
Tumblr media
Okay, I’ve questioned this before but. What is up with Kpp’Ar’s arm? It’s clearly injured… Is he using his own blood for spells? It feels like such a random detail to add without explanation. I wonder if we’ll find out...
Tumblr media
Ah, so Harrow isn’t king yet. Interesting… I guess that makes sense since Kpp’Ar doesn’t appear in any of the Magma Titan flashbacks.
Tumblr media
I think I remember Kpp’Ar having given up dark magic from The Puzzle House (please forgive me if I'm wrong my memory is shit), but I wonder what could have happened to make him veer away from dark magic and the staff to the point where he won’t consider using them to save a child… The royal family doesn’t have Aaravos’s mirror yet so I don’t think it could be that. I am so curious about this man...
Tumblr media
KPP’AR MAN, COME ON! I get that you’ve seen some things but you could at the bare minimum be a LITTLE more tactful than that! If there’s some reason that the staff can’t be used, you could, I don’t know, EXPLAIN IT to Viren? Instead of just leaving him sobbing in the room with no explanation as to why you are letting his son die? ...I see where Viren gets it from.
Tumblr media
Sksfjalkjslkf  I forgot about the monochrome so when the scene switched back to the Starscraper I was like wait what the hell is happening?
Tumblr media
Kosmo, man, I’m not sure this is helping, but also, Callum petting Sneezles for emotional support… I love themm…
Tumblr media
Callum, honey… Ough... I am going to cry I love Callum so much. Sweetie…
Tumblr media
Ssakljfsalkfj Rayla trying gently elbow Kosmo away from Callum.
Tumblr media
Callum, honey, sweetie, darling, sweetheart, love… The fact that he’s just utterly given up on himself and on his ability to continue. That he thinks he’s just too far gone, that there’s nothing left so there’s no point in even trying… Ough. And the implications of refusing to get rid of Aaravos’s control considering the fact that he made Rayla promise to kill him if he ever got controlled again and she did. Oh, honey… Callum’s arc this season is repeatedly punching me directly in the stomach.
Plus the voice acting, again. The way he sounds so dead and empty and almost apathetic, like it’s already over, like there’s just no point to anything anymore. AHG.
Tumblr media
Once a dumb sibling always a dumb sibling.
Tumblr media
“Truth is everything. But before you give it to another, ask yourself, are you giving them clarity, light, and purpose? Or are you shifting a burden to someone who needs all their strength?” I really like Astrid and I like how they're not going the "lying is always bad, telling the truth is always good in every situation no matter the context" route and instead acknowledging that it requires more nuance! Also, I love how Astrid is animated here, her body language is very expressive and fun.
Tumblr media
OH? Oh that explains why it was monotone I had been thinking that it was just like, a sudden style change to portray the emotions or something skjfaslkj. That make a lot more sense.
Also, I like the clarification of how the future-sight works! It seems kind of like Clearsight’s ability in Wings of Fire where she can see all of the possible futures that diverge from her decision. Kosmo can see the possibilities that arise from his decision of whether to tell the truth or not and then pick the best option once he’s seen the diverging paths. It’s probably my favorite form of “prophetic” ability and I especially appreciate it being used here since it lets Timeblind elves like Kosmo exist while still holding true to the themes in the show about the nonexistence of destiny and how the choices you make impact the future.
Tumblr media
Okay, I still feel like being Timeblind would suck. I can only imagine Kosmo feeling super awkward repeating what he said in the vision and like. I don’t know but I feel like it’d be creepy to have the people around you constantly parrot what you’ve already heard them say like they’re reading from scripts and you know what they’re about to say and the exact tone they’ll say it in a second before the words come out of their mouths. That would entirely creep me out.

I just caught up with doctor who and I’m really curious what you think about the episodes? Specifically 73 yards, dot and bubble, and rogue were my personal favourites so I’d love to hear your thoughts on them or the others
ooooh ok yes here we go
space babies - i loved it. ok? i get that a lot of people didnt like the cgi baby mouths. but i think it had such series 1 vibes (i.e. ninth doctor). it took me right back to my childhood. loved it tbh
the devils chord - :/ yeah. maestro was the onky redeeming factor of this episode tbh. it was supposed to be about the beatles but like. nothing about the episodes plot felt specifically beatles-relevant? like. you could have had the exact same plot with any 60s/70s band and it would have worked out the same way. i think if you're gonna do an episode surrounding a specific historical figure, the plot has to Only make sense for that historical figure. otherwise whats the point
boom - ugh. yes. 10/10. loved ncutis acting in this one. HE WAS LITERALLY STUCK ON ONE SPOT THE WHOLE TIME. COULD BARELY MOVE. AND HE STILL GAVE A HELL OF A PERFORMANCE. i was so impressed tbh. i love bottle episodes. the side characters were a little lackluster tbh tho. my only qualm with it really
73 yards - ANOTHER BANGER. i love love love when they get a bit horror with it. i loved that we got to focus on ruby and get to know her and her character a lot better. i very nearly cried when she was sitting outside her mums door on the phone. loved the mystery and the lack of a coherant solution, really added to the spookiness and fae vibes of it all.
dot and bubble - ok. im gonna be honest. this episode was boring to me. nothing really happened for the first 30 minutes. lindy was annoying as fuck. and i know that was supposed to be the point but like. if you're gonna do a doctor-lite-ish episode you've gotta make the focal character interesting. give me sally sparrow any day. i get what they were going for, i see the vision, i just think it could have been executed a bit better
rogue - yessssss!!! yesssssss!!!! loved the gay of it all, obviously, but i feel like that has kinda. taken over literally everything else about the episode??? i love the idea of larping aliens thats so silly and fun. i loved the fight mode scene with ruby holding her own. i loved the bridgerton-esque drama and ruby trying to comfort emily. i loved seeing ncuti get his "fury of the timelord" moment when he thought ruby was dead. the doctors dark side is so important!!! hes not all sunshine and rainbows!!! family of blood anyone!!!!
legend of ruby sunday - hm. the pacing was a little off. i felt like a lot of the time i was like. ok can we get to the point now. they mentioned the anagram thing So Many Times. and probability of trap. like ok girl we get it!!!! but. im very excited about sutekh!! he seems like a fun villain and very high stakes. and im so intruiged and compelled by rubys story. i Need to know who she is and who her mum is so so bad.
ANYWAY SORRY FOR RAMBLING BUT. YOU ASKED LMAO. AUTISM MOMENT
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR ASKING BTW ILY!!!!

Prompt: "I can't wait for you."
Angst/Mulder in peril: Mulder happens to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time... (wc: 1,373)
Tagging @today-in-fic @xffictober2023
Fictober Day 6: In The Blink Of An Eye
Of all the ways he imagined his life might end, it somehow never looked like this. He’s holding a tub of chocolate ice cream in the middle of a grocery store when he sees a young man nervously pacing the baby food aisle. Adrenaline shoots through him as he stands up straight, watching without blinking.
The man doesn’t see him and is far too concerned with what’s happening in his head. A woman pushing a shopping cart walks past the man but doesn’t pay him any mind. Mulder takes a step toward the scene and the man. The man's fingers are shaking as he picks up one of the glasses, pretending to read the ingredients. The woman keeps going and Mulder breathes in relief.
He could be wrong. This is just a hunch. A big hunch. But he’s seen this before. The nervous energy. The turmoil. The man puts the glass back on the shelf, his arm trembling. It’s his next move that proves to Mulder what he feared. The man, looking around, but still not seeing him, checks his coat pocket. And there, just peeking out, is a gun.
Mulder doesn’t take his eyes off the man as he takes out his phone. Calling the police would be the logical thing to do, but Scully is on speed dial one, and that’s quicker. She doesn’t pick up. Why isn’t she picking up? Of course she isn’t. They got home late from their case and she was tired, and – in her own words – filthy. She’s either in the shower or already asleep.
“Pick up, pick up, pick up.” When she doesn’t, and he’s coming closer and closer, his heart beating faster and faster, he hears the too familiar beep and starts talking.
“Scully, it’s me. I’m in a little… situation here. You know, I thought I’d get you some ice cream as an apology for the late flight, for the absurd case and because, well, you don’t know this, but the other day while you were using my head as a pillow, you were mumbling something about chocolate ice cream. So I thought I’d get you that ice cream and because I didn’t want to drive half an hour with a tub of ice cream, I went to the store around the corner from your apartment and now,” he pauses, catching his breath. The man has his back to him now and he’s slinking away. He’s losing time. He’s losing momentum. He’s losing everything.
“I, um, I need back-up. I should have called the police,” he whispers the word as quietly as possible. The man neither stops nor turns around. “But I called you instead. I can’t wait for you, because I have no idea what this guy is planning, but I know I can’t wait. Whatever happens here tonight, I will get you that ice cream.” As if in slow motion, the man reaches into his pocket, and Mulder starts running, the phone still pressed to his ear.
“Whatever happens,” he repeats, “I love you.” The phone clatters to the ground as Mulder closes in on the man, grabbing him by the shoulder and turning him around. A pair of big, wide eyes in a face that is much younger than Mulder would have thought meets him.
“What the-”
“Give me your gun,” Mulder says calmly, his hand still on the man’s shoulder. He shakes his head like a small child who’s been asked to give up his favorite toy.
“Can’t do that,” he says, his lips starting to quiver.
“No one has to get hurt.”
“I don’t want anyone to get hurt,” the man-boy spits at Mulder. “You don’t know what it’s like.”
“There’s a solution for everything. I can help you.”
“No,” a voice says from behind him. Mulder and the man turn around at the same time. There’s a woman, about the same age as the guy, her hair wild and her eyes narrow. The way she’s holding the gun tells Mulder she has no idea what she's doing. This clearly wasn't in their plans. She’s doing it all wrong and someone is going to get hurt.
“You don’t have to do this,” Mulder says gently, but he can see it in the dark pits of her dilated pupils. He’s too late. He miscalculated. In the moment right before the bullet hits him, he realizes he’s still holding the tub of ice cream. It falls to the ground with a splash, and his body follows a moment later. Everything goes black, and he thinks he hears a scream, but then, everything goes quiet, too.
*
Someone is praying. Words like “god” and “please" penetrate through the fog that’s his mind. That can only mean one thing: he’s dead. Who would have thought that Fox Mulder, porn connoisseur, would end up in heaven? He grins. Or he thinks he does. Can dead people still grin?
“Mulder?”
“Am I dead?” he asks, his tongue as thick as a brick in his mouth.
“You’re not dead,” the voice says, “you’re incredibly lucky.”
“Scully?” He smiles, just thinking of her.
“God, Mulder,” she says, and now he knows it’s her, even if his eyes refuse to cooperate and open. “Do you have any idea- do you know how scared I was?” His senses are waking up with every word she says, and every touch she administers. He feels her warm, strong fingers curl around his wrist. Then, she squeezes his fingers. His skin tingles and it's best feeling possible, because it's Scully doing this.
“Oh fuck,” he says. “The ice cream. Scully, I don’t remember what happened to the ice cream.”
“Ice cream, Mulder? You almost died.”
“The- the shooter. There a was a man and a woman. I had the man but the woman… she came out of nowhere.” Like a newborn deer, he blinks open his eyes. It’s only when his eyes meet Scully’s that he realizes how close he must have come this time.
“A young couple,” Scully says, her fingers now wandering over his face, as if making sure that everything is still there and in its rightful place.
“Are they- were they-”
“No, they’re alive. When- after she shot you, and other people came to see what was happening, they surrendered without a fight.”
“Did they talk? Scully, they were so young.” She smiles at him, shaking her head in disbelief.
“Only you, Mulder. Only you would care about the people who almost killed you. But you’re right, they are young. Their parents threw them out and they didn’t know how to feed their baby.”
“I’m not going to press charges.”
“You could have died.”
“I feel fine,” he says.
“You may feel fine, thanks to the painkillers. You aren’t fine. You’ve been shot.”
“Scully, they have a kid.” She nods. That's why he was in that aisle. All the guy wanted was to buy his kid something to eat.
“Let’s talk about this some other time, okay? You need your energy to heal.”
“Is it that bad? Where did the bullet hit me?”
“Your shoulder,” Scully says. “The other one. You have matching scars on both shoulders now.”
“Worth it,” he says with a groan. He turns to the side and sees the bandage. Whatever they gave him, it’s doing its job. He doesn’t feel any pain. There’s just a comfortable numbness taking hold of his whole body. Exhaustion is tugging at him, and he fears he doesn’t have much time left before sleep takes him again.
“I’m sorry I didn’t get you your ice cream.”
“What is it about this ice cream?”
“Didn’t you listen to my voicemail?”
“I did,” she says warily.
“I’ll get you that ice cream once I’m out of here. That’s a promise.”
“The only promise I want from you right now,” Scully says, “is that you get some sleep. I’ll come back in the morning. That is my promise. Okay?” He nods, his eyes closing on their own volition. Oh yeah, they really gave him the good stuff this time.
“Ice cream or no ice cream,” Scully whispers, her breath tickling his cheek, “I love you, too.” In the morning he doesn’t know if it was real or just a dream.

Demon Slayer!Mc thoughts
(Pretty angsty btw, dark themes, it’s literally demon slayer lol, no spoilers here)
this is the longest I’ve ever kept one idea in my head I’m scared
I cant stop thinking about an mc from demon slayer and I blame anyone whose ever written angst for an mc/Yuu that came from a world worse than twst.
Like 😭
Demon slayer!mc who hates the fact that they don’t want to go home. In fact, they’re almost terrified of the day Crowley announces he can send them back (even though they have doubts it’ll ever happen)
Finally, they can live like a normal person. They are no longer in danger, overblots or not they don’t have to fear for their life every night. They have friends, and for once they don’t have to question if they will see them again. They don’t have to worry if they’ll enter the scene of a massacre, the smell of blood and fear is almost nonexistent compared to the past.
Oh but how they cry when they think about the people who sacrificed themselves for their sake. How, if they choose to stay, they will abandon the hopes and dreams they protected with their life. All the death they had experienced was for the hope of a better future, and now they find themselves willing to leave those hopes behind for a selfish desire. If they choose to stay, how many lives will be lost? How many families torn apart (literally) if they choose to abandon their duties?
And they wonder if they could ever possibly tell their friends about their past.
Sure they could, after all they know how much it shows when they jump at the smallest sound at night. But their just a bit scared of the dark!
Yeah, they stare off into space sometimes with a look that holds all the worlds terror and cries but they just look like that yk?
And hey, they promise it’s fine to get only a few hours of sleep at awkward hours of the day. Grim, don’t worry but please don’t tell anyone about how they wake up screaming and crying some nights. They promised to buy you extra tuna for the lost sleep.
And what if they learn how these demons are created? Would they understand that these creatures are far from human? Would they understand that these demons cannot be saved, and the only solution is to decapitate them?
They wouldn’t be able to stand the mistrustful and maybe even disgusted gazes of their friends.
I could see demon slayer mc’s relationship starting out very different with diasomnia too. The first interaction with Malleus was probably terrifying for them. I mean we got a non-human, horned tall man popping out of nowhere in the middle of the night.
I’d imagine they’d warm up pretty quickly though. Especially with Lilia, considering they share similar experiences. Maybe even become a training partner with Silver.
Sebek tho, they have never hated anyone more.
He talks like demons. Hating and looking down on humans for being weak and useless. Honestly, if mc is hot-blooded enough they’re throwing hands. After witnessing so many people die, so many allys give their lives for humanity, are they really going to just take that?
On a lighter note, think about how strong they are. Especially if they have heightened senses like Tanjiro or Zenitsu. Vargas loves them fr, they’re on par with beastmen and dominate in so many sports. Instant training buddies with Jack.
Imagjne Riddle or Azul (if they have a deal) trying to teach mc how to write a formal essay lmao. Especially if they’re more like Inosuke who doesn’t even know how to read
This entire thing has been rotting my brain lmao

The West Wing episode 4.20 "Evidence of Things Not Seen"
Tumblr media
Have you ever noticed how the biggest names behind the camera tend to have close relationships with a handful of actors who are in everything they make? Aaron Sorkin is no exception, and honestly, I feel like I understand why. His work is so specific, just like Tarantino’s or Scorsese’s, and when you have such an identifiable style, I think it either clicks with you or it doesn’t. When you find people who click with you, whose brains meld seamlessly with yours, it really is a euphoric feeling and I imagine you’d want to keep those people close.
The West Wing, and Aaron Sorkin, click with me. Sometimes I watch a show and the thrill is having no idea what’s about to happen; I’m along for the ride in a vehicle that I barely recognize, let alone know how to drive. I would never be so bold as to think I could have taken the wheel of The West Wing, but to keep the comparison going, putting an episode on feels like getting into your mom’s car. You know all its little nuances, where the cupholders are, and how it’s going to feel on the road (and when to grab the handlebar).
“Evidence of Things Not Seen” has everything I love about The West Wing; it’s a fun one, but an inspiring one too, and it even guest stars- get this- Matthew Perry, fresh off of Friends. All the characters are mostly off the clock in this episode, so it’s time for a good poker game. Leo and the President are excited to kick back over a game of cards; Leo even has a full spread prepared, and tbh nothing makes me laugh like his reverent demand of CJ to “oooh squeeze this piece of rye bread”.
But the relaxation will of course be interrupted. The President will have to step in and out to negotiate with Kaliningrad- their government spotted an unmanned spy plane that we were flying over there, and Bartlet needs to talk them into giving it back. Our cover story: it was an environmental mission studying coastal erosion (Chinese spy balloon anyone?). Josh will have to do some back and forth too, interviewing a candidate to replace Ainsley Hayes as associate counsel.
Amid all of this, it’s the equinox, and CJ is convinced that at “the exact moment of the equinox” you can stand an egg on its end, and it won’t tip over. She’s carrying an egg around, but she hasn’t pulled it off yet and skepticism abounds.
All of Sorkin’s characters speak with what’s become his trademark cadence and tone so at times I see them as somewhat interchangeable- he just likes the sound of a group. But “Evidence of Things Not Seen” highlights the individual personalities and ideological differences that actually are present and consistent once you get past the similar speech pattern.
We’re launched into the title sequence with Bartlet giving the egg thing- and this coastal erosion cover story- a shot, but the egg topples over. His subsequently loaded “yeah, this isn’t gonna work” is about a lot more than the equinox. Compared to CJ, he’s always been a pragmatic optimist, entertaining every romantic idea but not expecting all of them to pan out. CJ, meanwhile, will always stick her neck out to vouch for the idealistic solution, even when it’s not even in the realm of realistic. She’s also usually right. In a previous episode, when everyone else guessed that the president’s approval rating had remained the same at best, she wagered that they had gone up 5 points, a number so preposterous Leo wouldn’t even repeat it to the President. Turns out she was lowballing. She’s also the voice of the iconic line “it’s about going to the blackboard and raising your hand- if you think you get it wrong sometimes, why don’t you come down here and see how the big boys do it.”
Tumblr media
Toby’s even more complex than either of them, which I’d go so far as to say is the reason he also has the most complex individual relationship with almost every other character. He and Bartlet are a story for another day, but Toby and CJ’s deep, often wordless friendship really run wild in this episode. Toby’s created the image of himself as the pessimistic curmudgeon, but it’s a defense mechanism for the red hot idealism he’s carrying around. He’s so often disappointed, and he’s tired of it, but he can’t help but see so much potential in the world, even if he won’t admit it.
Will’s being in the Air Force won’t come up again after this episode, but it comes up in this one to serve the theme of Toby and CJ’s dueling worldviews. He’s heading to Wyoming to address a situation in which two launch crew officers who were slow to react to a threat of an incoming missile from North Korea. Turns out it was a good thing they asked some questions before enacting protocol, because it wasn’t a missile- it was a meteor from space. But they’re still being court-martialed because if it had been a missile, they wouldn’t have reacted in time. Toby can’t help but burst out laughing at this story (“Why do we think at this point that North Korea is attacking the East Coast of the United States?” “There are transcripts that show that surprise was expressed at that”). Then he turns it on CJ: “We failed on both a mechanical and human level. So tell me again what you have faith in”.
“Us. Because with what little free time he has, Will is going to Wyoming to defend one of these guys, and I don’t think it is failing on a human level”. Instead of responding, Toby lays down his cards, expecting to win the hand. But, in another symbolic move that speaks to a lot more than poker, CJ lays out a full house, sweeping up the chips in her unexpected win.
Tumblr media
While this weighty discussion hung in the air, Will, Toby, and CJ had another thing to attend to- a bet amongst men that the other couldn’t hurl a playing card into the podium from the fifth row in the press room. They head down there, with CJ tagging along hoping to see them both fail- no one’s taking her very seriously tonight, after all. Instead of settling that debate, they’re interrupted by three gunshots slamming into the press room window. Will’s military training kicks in and he drops to the floor and rattles off ballistics to the secret service agents that instantly burst in, but CJ freezes. It’s Toby who pulls her to the ground in the heat of the moment.
I don’t love this being the second time CJ’s been “saved” by a man in this show (Sam did the same thing at Roslyn), but this interaction with Toby feels a lot more organic than that did, and so does the way they address it. On the whole, everything about an active shooter and subsequent crash of the building is a tired plot at this point. I’d actually go as far as to say this entire episode is pretty unoriginal- a criticism I read when doing some research on this episode. But I think the familiarity of the situation is exactly the thing that gives this episode that fun, cozy, President-in-a-sweatshirt feel. We’ve done the defcon 1 “can you believe it?!” active shooter plot before, so now we’re able to have some fun with it (“fun” on The West Wing is a relative term).
The secret service herds Toby, CJ, Will, and Josh into the oval office to make sure there’s eyes on everyone. Charlie and Debbie are already accounted for, but they don’t have code word clearance, so they’re not allowed in the Oval, where the spy plane discussion is still ongoing. At least, according to the Secret Service. Bartlet good naturedly explains that “if Charlie heard there were bullets, he’s gonna overpower whoever’s trying to—” and he’s cut off by Charlie, sure enough, bursting into the room. The President grins, we grin, he pulls Charlie in close and promises he’s okay. Satisfied, Charlie marches right back out. Then Bartlet says “I’m surprised you guys managed to keep Fiderer in her chair, I’d have thought she’d be the first one to- oh no here we are!” as she too fights her way in the room, looking the President up and down and declaring that she will be back to take his blood pressure shortly.
In a beat amidst the commotion, CJ asks Toby if he knew that a day on the moon and a year on the moon were the same thing. He did. The moment hangs there. Then she says, “I thought my reflexes before, in the press room, were cat-like.” And then we cut away. I love how little we have to say in this episode, and it’s our familiarity with these people, these rooms, and this situation that really let us all just play here in “Evidence of Things Not Seen”.
And nowhere is this episode having more fun than it is with Josh and the unexpectedly incredible chemistry he has with Matthew Perry’s Joe Quincy. Throughout this entire episode he’s back and forth between advising the President and interviewing new associate counsel Joe Quincy. Joe is quiet, collected, funny, and overqualified, but something is off about him, and Josh can’t figure out what. In an aside to Donna, Josh muses that “it’s the strangest feeling. It’s like… a really good baseball player is standing in the other team’s locker room for the first time.” To which Donna says, “I don’t understand, are you writing poetry about this now?”
Tumblr media
But his gut is onto something, and he’s trying to figure out what- amidst it all, though, he’s also starting to like him. Josh is amused that the vetting team made Joe fill out the psychological part of the questionnaire- something he can relate to, and I’ll come right back to that in a second. Josh asks a question I think we all probably wonder when filling out forms like this but have never thought to put into words:
“Question 1: a) I do not feel sad; b) I feel sad; c) I am sad all the time and I can’t snap out of it; d) I am so sad or unhappy that I want to kill myself. You chose a) I do not feel sad.”
“Yes.”
“Good. Ever?”
“No.”
“No, you don’t ever feel sad, or…?”
“No, there are times when I feel sad.”
“Yet you checked the first box, why is that?”
“It said, ‘I do not feel sad’ and I didn’t at the time I checked it.”
This exchange, and their whole dynamic, feels both funny and poignant, but the tables turn when the shooting happens in the very next scene. Donna is instantaneous in checking on Josh, worried about the shooting stirring up his PTSD and telling him, against his wishes, that she is going to be giving his therapist a heads up that he might be calling later.
When Josh explains the building crash to Joe, he says he didn’t hear the shots, but “I heard a brass quintet playing The First Noel, so I just assumed someone somewhere was locked and loaded.” Joe doesn’t hesitate to reply with “You know, not for nothing, but the people that I talk to don’t believe that story, and the people that you’d like don’t care.” He doesn’t say it unkindly, but like I said, funny and poignant.
But it’s not only the sentiment that throws Josh off, it’s the wording. Finally, Josh puts it together- Joe is a republican. Once his secret is out, Joe explains that he’s gotten himself in bad standing with the rest of the party by voicing an unpopular opinion, but he wants to work at the White House because, of course, he has a sense of duty. The whole thing is a soft, respectful, and incredibly loaded homage to both Ainsley Hayes and arguably the show’s best episode, “Noel”. And, just like Ainsley, Joe finds himself fitting right in, even as Josh tries to fight it. He recommends him to Leo and gets him the job.
Tumblr media
I really love this episode for all the same reasons I think it often flies under the radar of West Wing greatest hits. It’s not remarkable, it’s not doing anything we haven’t done before, but it has its finger right on the pulse of every one of these characters. It’s exactly our deep familiarity with everyone and everything that lets the slightest touch hold so much significance, depth, and humor.  It just takes half a sentence for a character to say something profound about another, or to call back to nostalgic characters and plot points.  And I almost forgot to mention- we end with CJ standing an egg on its end. I well up every time.

An Informal Essay About How Everyone is Sexually Different
Cock rings never quite worked for me. The idea is that you put it on and it keeps the blood from leaving your penis causing longer erections and more stamina. This was never the case for me. See I suffer from what is known as “premature ejaculation”. This means that no matter how hard I try I just can’t last long before cumming. I want to go longer, but my body does not. This one little issue has led me to years of experimentation to find a so-called solution.
The first and simplest thing I always stumbled upon was cock rings. The promise of them was almost mystical “Put on this magic ring and you won’t cum as quick and will stay hard even after cumming!”. Cock rings never made me cum any later than I was used to, but that wasn’t my whole gripe. I thought staying hard after cumming would be a great way of lasting longer. If I cum too quickly, why not just keep going after I cum? However, much to my displeasure, this also didn't work for me. Even the promises of stronger ejaculations proved untrue to my body. To this day I never quite understand the appeal of a cock ring.
But that’s okay! there are more than one way to skin a cat, so there's more than one way to not cum so fast! The next step on my journey led me to edging. For those of you who don’t know, edging is the practice of pleasuring yourself until just before you are about to cum, then abruptly stopping all stimulation. Cool down a bit, repeat as many times as you want. I am no stranger to edging; I do it quite often. The idea is you are conditioning yourself to masturbate for a long time by keeping yourself from cumming. It’s about the journey not the destination.  Though, through my many years of edging, it never did make me last any longer. I’d masturbate for three to five pumps, already be at the edge, and I’d stop for around thirty seconds. My rounds never did get past those few strokes though, so I don't think it had the effect it was supposed to.
Cock rings didn’t work and even though edging was fun it also didn’t help my problem. So I moved on to the next solution. One thing every article and person would tell me is this: “If you’re cumming too quickly try using less stimulation”. This sounded  promising, but overall impractical. How could you control the stimulation while in the midst of real life, person to person, sex? Not to mention penetration, how could I use less stimulation while my penis is literally surrounded by it? Regardless, this is how I discovered frenulum play. The frenulum is the little bridge that connects the head of the penis to the shaft. Legend has it that if you slowly and methodically move your finger in small circles around the frenulum, you will have the longest lasting and biggest orgasm ever! How could I not explore a legend like that? This, as you can probably predict, also didn’t have the intended effect. I did last a tiny bit longer, but not long regardless. However I did discover something; I fucking love frenulum play. While it didn’t have the outcome I wanted, it did feel really good, and was really fun! Not to mention there is some gender euphoria to be had from an egged up trans girl learning that the best way for them to masturbate is essentially the same as rubbing a clit.
There I was, years of experimentation and still no solution to my problem. Beyond the advice of “don’t be circumcised” (which is impossible for someone who is already circumcised), the only other option anyone told me was “you’ll last longer with more sexual experience”. Spoiler for the present: No I won’t. I always felt like maybe I was doing something wrong, or maybe everyone was just lying, or that I was broken beyond repair. Something was wrong with me. It took me a while to realize, but nothing is wrong with me and nothing ever was. It’s just a fact of life that everyone is different. Things that work for some people don’t work for everyone else. Unfortunately for me I had to overcome a problem that is often looked at as a sign of some kind of weakness. I just wasn’t “man enough” to cum like a regular person. (In some weird way, I guess that wasn’t completely untrue, being a girl and all).
Overcoming a stigma about sex can be embarrassing, humiliating, and downright discouraging. Eventually I did find my solution: communication. Every partner I had, no matter how embarrassing it was, I made sure to let them know I just couldn’t last that long. Sometimes I was laughed at, sometimes I was encouraged that I “just needed a little practice” in a false hope, and in the best case scenario we were able to work around it so having sex was enjoyable for everyone despite it. When my current partner was first trying to seduce me into sex, I was completely down for it. Though I hadn’t told her yet, and I needed to. It’s more embarrassing if it’s unexpected and I have to awkwardly explain why that was a bad experience. However, for some reason I was so nervous about it that I just started sobbing. This woman is half naked on top of me and I just start crying out of nowhere! In hindsight it’s a really funny story. She immediately got off of me and started heavily comforting me as I explained why I was crying so much. She understood completely, and the way she handled it so well and didn’t try taking advantage of me, or making fun of me, in that vulnerable moment is what made me fall for her so hard. Yes we are still together today and have many sexy and kinky adventures.
At the time of writing this I am almost nine months on estrogen. My parts are changing rapidly and that includes the way I experience sex. I get to explore and experiment with my own body all over again and that is extremely exciting! Although, even now, there are things told to me by other trans women that just don’t apply to me (or at least not yet). I was told a lot that I wouldn’t be able to cum from penile stimulation at all, but for me that’s just not true. My orgasms might be much weaker now, and my penis might not get as hard as it used to, but it definitely still works! I was also told of the fabled “girl orgasm” and “girl horny” which are apparently very different then how boys experience those things. Unfortunately for me, because I really want to experience girl horny and girl orgasm, that just hasn’t applied to me. I still feel all my erogenous zones in mostly the same way I did before. The biggest difference being how much more sensitive I am in the chest area (although I still always was). Though it’s not like I can orgasm just with chest stimulation.
My point here is that no two bodies are the same. The only person who can tell you what feels good and what works is you! Use other people’s advice as building blocks for your sexual discovery, but in the end it is just that: yours!

Can i req Pom, Elira, and Selen x easily flustered reader who tries to flirt to get back at them (and has no idea what they are doing)
:0 you’re right you SHOULD name me
lyra’s notes -> i shall dub thee…idk actually i don’t know much abt u so i don’t know what to name u…but if i had to pick a name i’d say ur pomu simp anon
pairings -> pomu rainpuff, elira pendora, selen tarsuki x gn! reader (separate)
genre -> yet more fluffies
song -> fool for you - kastra
warnings -> ever so slightly suggestive content
Tumblr media
POMU RAINPUFF •
we already know she’s a menace when it comes to things like that, so the second you try to flirt with her she’s turning the tables on you and she’s kissing you so passionately you can’t help but blush. she can’t help it, girl doesn’t like being teased as much as she likes teasing you. the only natural solution is to fluster you to hell and back just for the fun of it. wether it’s pinning you to a wall or just teasing you back, she’s sure to get back at you in the way that will make you blush the most. pomu can’t help it really, just the idea of you blushing makes her feel so smug and happy!
ELIRA PENDORA •
she’ll laugh at your attempts. less of a mocking laugh and more of just a giggle. she knows you try your best but sometimes your words come out sounding a little silly. either way, she’ll gladly flirt back with increasingly weird remarks. she prefers to keep things lighthearted, so she’ll play along with your silly pickup lines. elira loves you and one her ways of showing it is just being silly with you and calling you very silly petnames. sometimes your pickup lines make her giggle and that’s alright! you’ll get better at it soon, she promises!
SELEN TATSUKI •
ougghh. why would anyone let me write for selen i am such an absolute simp. you flirt with her, she’s gonna absolutely flip it on you and you’re gonna be the flustered one in less than 10 seconds. she’ll pin you to the nearest surface, towering over you a little with a smirk on her face while she kisses your cheek and then walks away. she loves teasing you like this and seeing you blush and stammer a response. selen is the best girlfriend ever, and she’ll gladly flirt back with you sometimes, but she’s almost never the one getting flustered because she’s far more experienced with flirting than you are.

If I Had the Chance, I'd Never Let You Go

Summary: after several failed matchmaking attempts, Steve finally gets Natasha to stop setting him up with random people. The only problem is, how is he supposed to find a boyfriend in a week? An unexpected solution to his plans appears in the form of the hot brunet that runs the local bookstore.
Warnings: language, mild suggestive material, self-deprecating thoughts

“How about Amelia? The one that works at the coffee shop downstairs?” Natasha questions Steve as they walk out of their latest mission debriefing. Steve replies with a long-suffering sigh.
“Come on, Steve. This girl will be different than the others.”
“The last person you set me up with asked me for strands of my hair. He literally told me that he would pay me if I’d give him my sweaty gym clothes.”
Natasha grimaces. “Okay, so maybe Kevin was a bad idea, but in my defence he seemed like a perfectly normal guy.”
“And how do you know that Amelia is any different?”
“I’ve actually talked to her. She’s super sweet, and she has an adorable dog! You’ll love her!”
Steve rolls his eyes. He can’t even remember the amounts of dates he has been wrangled into going to. If Natasha is one thing, it’s persistent.
After a bit too much Asgardian mead at their last party, he ended up revealing that he was lonely and wanted to get into the dating world, but it was just too confusing nowadays with the apps and the people just looking for flings. Natasha has since then made it her job to find the perfect guy or gal for her teammate turned friend. So far, the results have ranged from highly disappointing to downright disastrous dates.
He’s fed up with dating. All anyone cares about is his fame or his body (the one that still doesn’t feel like his own). They want him for sex or connections or to post on social media that they were the lucky winner, as if Steve were some sort of prize and not a human being with feelings.
“I can’t go out with her,” Steve says as they enter the elevator. He silently thanks god that it’s empty so no one will have gossip about his non-existent love life.
“Why not? She’s single, you’re single. Sounds like the perfect match to me.”
“I’m already dating someone,” Steve blurts out. As soon as those words leave his mouth, Steve regrets them, but he doesn’t outwardly show it.
“Really?” Natasha raises a brow. The elevator arrives at the common room floor and they both step out.
“Yeah,” Steve rubs the back of his neck. Although he knew there was a close to zero chance that she’d actually believe him, he might as well try.
“And why didn’t you tell me?”
“Tell you what?” Tony interrupts their conversation, grabbing the attention of the rest of the gathered team. Steve doesn’t think his luck has ever been worse.

1. one step closer
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello everyone!! I present to you my very first LoZ fic!!! And also my first ever poly ship fic that's been posted, so I hope I do this as well as I'd like to. This story is actually inspired by a post I came across that was posted by @fangirlingpuggle, who gave me permission to use their idea as story inspiration!! I'll provide a link to the post if you'd like to see it!! Now, one thing I'd like to say about this story is that it's not just a Sidlink fic or just a Linkona fic. It is also a Sidyona fic. It is all three ships. I will try to balance out each one, showing each individual love story, plus the big one of just all three together. I have not yet decided which ship will be getting together first, or if it'll be an all three all at once type of thing, and because of my indecision, I would like to hear from you guys, my lovely readers, as the story progresses, on which ship you think would make the most sense when it comes to getting together first. It all depends on how I write it out, of course, but I just wanted to let y'all know ahead of time!! Last thing, this chapter is a little short compared to where the other chapters will be at length-wise, but it's also just a letter exchange this chapter, so there will be lots more in the next chapter!! Enjoy!!

Dear Lady Yona,
I hope this letter finds you well. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, things around here have been a bit busy. Vah Ruta, the divine beast that my late sister Mipha once piloted, well, something has gone wrong with it. It's caused a near constant downpour of rain here in our domain and if we don't find a way to stop it, our reservoir will flood over the dam and completely take over not only our home, but much of the rest of Hyrule as well. And of course, us Zoras can survive just fine in such a situation, but the others in our land cannot, none of them have such an affinity for water as the Zora do.
With that in mind, I am terribly worried. We've been doing so much research it's making my head spin. I'm not sure I can take staring at another book right now, especially when everything it says is completely useless to our attempts in finding a solution to this problem. I just pray that we find a way to stop it soon.
How are things over in your domain? Good, I hope. I would never wish anything like the mess here on anyone. I miss you much, my friend, though I know if you were to visit right now, I would not be very good company to keep. And alas, I cannot bring myself to leave home at a time like this. As prince, I must face this head on. But once this is all over, we can work out the details, I suppose, no matter how far off that is. Get back to me whenever you find the time to do so.
Sincerely,
Sidon
~*~
Dear Prince Sidon,
Oh my. Please be careful. I, too, will be praying for a quick success in taming that divine beast. I wish I could help in some way. I am sending with this letter the few sheikah books I could find in our royal library, though I'm not sure if they'll be of any help, considering the sheikah have never spent much time here. But it's the least I can do. And do not worry about sending them back once you've looked over them. These have been collecting dust for decades over here. They will be much better off with you.
Things here in my domain are very well, though nothing very exciting has happened at the domain itself. However, recently, I've taken on two new handmaidens. Mother suggested I have them, especially since I've started doing a lot more traveling around our land. Khira and Chroma are lovely, when they're not bickering at least. Chroma can be a bit easily frazzled and Khira is usually very serious and strict. But I just try to remind them both that I am not counting on either of them being perfect. Just their companionship alone is wonderful to have.
But anyways. On your land, you have those winged tribe, yes? Those that resemble birds? I remember meeting one when we were younger, but I never had much contact with them besides that. But in my travels, I came across a very small village of them on our land! All the way across the sea! But they're much more colorful than the one I met. Brilliant greens and oranges and reds. I spent a few days there, learning about them and their culture. It's absolutely fascinating!
I may visit them again eventually, but for now, I've come back to the domain for awhile. I'll be setting out again soon, so I'll be sure to tell you lots more of my next adventure. And once this whole divine beast thing has settled down, I'll come visit your domain as soon as I can. Besides, mother has been a lot more pushy recently when it comes to our...arrangement. She believes it is time for me to finally marry, though I've tried to remind her that it's not just up to her and I, but you and your father as well. But there's no need to worry about that right now. That's for another time. Take care, dear Sidon, and I hope to hear from you again soon.
Yours,
Yona
~*~
Dear Lady Yona,
Thank you so much for the texts you sent. I will be going through them soon.  The rain is still neverending, but we're learning to get used to it for now. It's all we can do. And do not worry, I am being as careful as I can be. But enough of that. I'm so glad to hear of you going on such wonderful adventures, Yona. The... winged tribe, as you say, those are the Rito. It is indeed fascinating to learn of some being on your land, I thought they were only in Hyrule. The way you've described them, I bet they are quite the sight. Maybe one day I shall get to see them as well.
Tell me, what is having handmaidens like? I've always wondered. I have nothing of the sort, though I'm okay with that. Is it true they always follow you around and try to do everything for you that you may usually do yourself? I could never imagine having to deal with such a thing. Though my only experience with them is the few vague memories I have of Mipha having one and the stories I've heard about them, so maybe I'm not one who could be so biased against them.
Oh, yes. Our arranged marriage does seem to be coming up more and more these days. Both here and there, it seems. Father has been talking about it as well. Says he wants me to be prepared for when I finally take the throne, but I'm not so sure that will be happening anytime soon. But I suppose it would be best for us all to talk about it eventually. Once Vah Ruta is back to her normal self, our domain will happily host both you and your mother. Until then, I can't wait to hear of all your adventures to come. Please do keep in touch to the best of your abilities during your travels, I will find great joy in reading about them.
Sincerely,
Sidon
~*~
Dear Prince Sidon,
Ah, yes, the Rito! Forgive me for forgetting their name, it's been so long since I've heard it. Those I found here did not go by that name. They called themselves the Zitty. But they were the same species, I'm sure of it. Next time you find yourself on my land, I will definitely be sure to take you to see them. They're quite the lively bunch, and wonderful company to keep. I think you would fit in very well with them.
Silly Sidon. Yes, some handmaidens are very much like that. However, Khira and Chroma are not. While they do follow me to most places, they do not attempt to do something for me unless I ask it of them, thankfully. I could not handle being coddled in such a way either, so I am very grateful that they are not pushy in that regard. And no worries, I take none of your assumptions unkindly. I am happy to answer any questions you may have, about handmaidens or otherwise. You know that.
That sounds like a very good idea. I'm sure mother would love to spend some time overseas as well. Oh, it's been so long since I've paid a visit, I can't wait. Has any progress been made with Vah Ruta? Did my books help you at all? I apologize if they did not, though I hope that something has been found either way. Please keep me updated.
Yours,
Yona
~*~
Dear Lady Yona,
Yona. I cannot believe what this day has become. I do apologize if my writing isn't the best, I just can't keep myself from shaking. So much has happened in just this last pass of the sun through the sky. I will start with this. All of our research finally paid off and the books you sent me were definitely of great help with that. We learned of the way Vah Ruta works, of her mechanisms and what controls the water she spews. The best solution is to shock her system with electricity, like shock arrows. However, as you know, electricity is deadly to Zora, therefore we cannot use them.
Because of this, we'd begun asking for help. Traveling a bit away from the domain and looking for travelers, asking if any of them would be willing. We had no luck finding such a person, until yesterday. A young traveler was making his way past and I asked for his help. Later I found out that many others had spoken to him as well about what was going on. I asked for his help and he actually said yes! I was beyond grateful. He carried with him armor and weaponry, including a bow and arrow, so I already had high hopes for his success. He made his way to our domain and I did as well, trying to guide him whenever our paths crossed.
I had asked his name when we first met, and I didn't think too much of it at first. His name is Link. I'm sure he wouldn't be the first to be named after such a well-known hero. However, upon bringing him to meet my father, I found that I had been wrong. My father knows this young man. Because this Link is the same exact Link from one hundred years ago! And he came here to our domain to fix Vah Ruta as part of his quest to complete what was started all those years ago.
Oh, Yona, he's even more amazing than either one of us has ever imagined. Even better than all of our childish wonders. Him and I worked together quite closely in order to get Vah Ruta working properly again. I carried him on my back as I swam through the reservoir, getting as close to Vah Ruta as I dared so that he could shoot each of her mechanisms. I would launch him up and he would shoot up into the air, pulling his bow out with such ease. Once he had an arrow nocked, it was like time slowed down just for him. He made perfect shots each time. And then he ventured inside the divine beast to destroy the beast inside, the waterblight created by Calamity Ganon all those years ago, the same one that killed my sister, Mipha.
As soon as he was inside, I returned to the domain and waited anxiously for his return. He was gone for so long. He only just returned about an hour before I'm writing this, and the moon was already high in the sky. And when he finally returned, he looked exhausted. But miraculously, not a single serious injury was on him. He was covered in scratches and bruises, dried blood on most of them, and dirt all over his face, but that was the worst of it. And Yona, oh Yona. He's so beautiful. He's fierce, determined, kind, and gorgeous. I can understand why my sister fell for him so. I can't get him out of my head and my entire body is positively vibrating with excitement.
Now that Vah Ruta is tamed, you must come right away. With your mother, too, of course. You must come and meet him. He'll be staying in the domain for a few weeks before he moves on, so he'll definitely still be here when you arrive. Oh, I can't wait for you to see him. Please, come as soon as you can.
Sincerely,
Sidon
~*~
Dear Prince Sidon,
My friend, I write to you as my bags are being packed for my visit to your domain. Mother is delighted to be taking the trip and much like you, I find myself buzzing with excitement. What you've described...I cannot believe it. Link? The Link? How is that even possible? Oh, I'm sure you'll explain it when I get there. I'm so glad that the threat to your land is no more, I am so very grateful for whatever brought such a hero to your domain.
Oh, I want to know all about him. I haven't felt such a feeling since we were children, Sidon. And even now, my childish dreams are coming back to me, even if I know how silly they are. What do you think he thinks of you? What do you think he'll think of me? Do you think he likes women or men? Maybe both? What things does he like? What things does he dislike? I can't wait to ask.
Oh my, the excitement is overwhelming. I apologize for how short of a letter this is. It's mostly just to tell you that we will be leaving shortly and should arrive soon after this letter does. I cannot wait to see you again, Sidon. Make sure you put in a good word for me with our new hero friend, if it's not too much to ask.
Yours,
Yona

Sibling Bonding
Summary: It takes Phineas almost no time to click with Ferb, even before their parents get married.  Ferb connects with Phineas just as quickly.  Ferb and Candace, on the other hand, both need a little bit longer to get each other.
Phineas decided very quickly that he liked the Fletchers.  Mom’s boyfriend Mr. Fletcher had very specific interests, and though they could be a little boring to listen to sometimes, it made him really happy when someone did, and him being happy made Mom happy.  Plus, Mr. Fletcher was a really good listener and always let Phineas talk about his latest ideas, and Phineas wanted to return the favor as best he could.  Even more than Mr. Fletcher, though, Phineas liked his son.
Ferb was super fun to play with, and though he didn’t like talking much, he’d said he loved listening to Phineas’ ideas and adding on his own in his head.  He even had a knack for bringing them to life, which made it so much more fun for both of them.  Phineas liked playing with him better than almost anyone else in his whole life— almost.  Because while Ferb was amazing, there was one thing that bothered Phineas about him, and that was that he didn’t like Phineas’ bestest closest most wonderful friend in the whole wide world, who also happened to be his sister.  Mom had tried to explain it to him— Ferb didn’t like talking, which Phineas knew, and while Phineas talked a lot, he tended to do it in a way that Ferb didn’t mind so much.
Candace, on the other hand, was loud.
And Phineas knew that, sort of.  It had never bothered him, but he could understand why it would bother Ferb.  But that didn’t solve their problem, being that if Ferb didn’t like Phineas’ bestest closest most wonderful friend in the whole wide world, that was something he wasn’t sure he could get past.
So obviously, he had to explain to Ferb why Candace was so amazing.
“She’s really super determined when she wants something,” Phineas said to Ferb, who was listening intently as they both sat under the tree in Phineas’ backyard.  “And she doesn’t stop until she gets it.  And she makes me laugh really hard, and she still plays with me even though she has older cool friends at her school that like most of the stuff she likes more than me.”
Ferb nodded, seeming like he was thinking it over.  “I don’t not like her,” he said after a second.  “I just wish she wouldn’t talk so loud.”
“But that’s a problem,” Phineas said, leaning forward so Ferb could see he was serious about this.  “Because I really like you.  But if your Dad is going to marry my Mom so you can move in with us so we can play together all the time and have it be super awesome, you’re going to have to deal with Candace being loud sometimes.”
Ferb’s eyebrows furrowed as he thought this over, nodding again in agreement.
“How about this,” Phineas said.  “Sometimes when I need Candace to listen to me I have to let her finish her thought first or she won’t have space for it, and sometimes she does that for me too.  So what if when you know you’re not gonna be able to handle Candace being loud I go let her talk a bunch first and then I can tell you when she’s done so we can ask her to be quiet and she won’t mind so much?”
Ferb thought about this for another moment.  “That sounds like a lot of work for you,” he said after a second.
“Eh, it’s okay,” Phineas said with a shrug.  “I mean, I’d be doing it anyway.  This way I can just let you know when it’s quieter so then we can all have fun!”
Ferb started to smile at that, and then he nodded, seeming satisfied with that solution.  He should be, it was a good one.
So next time Mom told Phineas and Candace that Ferb and Mr. Fletcher were coming over, Phineas ran to Candace’s room before they got there and asked her what episode of Ducky Momo she’d watched most recently, because he’d missed it and needed to catch up.
He didn’t actually like Ducky Momo too much, but Candace liked it, and he liked Candace.  She was his bestest closest most wonderful friend in the whole wide world, after all.  Plus, when Phineas pointed out that she could talk to her friends about Ducky Momo, Candace just got quiet and looked down at her feet and said something about it being embarrassing.  Phineas didn’t quite get that part, because they were her friends, and obviously they’d love her no matter what.  Phineas didn’t like Ducky Momo, after all, but he loved hearing Candace talk about it because it made her really happy.  But Candace insisted, so for now it was their secret.
But Phineas must have misjudged the time it would take Ferb and Mr. Fletcher to get there, because a knock on the door to Candace’s room came as she was in the middle of explaining Ducky Momo’s quest for the Butterberry Bridge, and Phineas turned to see Ferb there.  He didn’t look bothered by Candace’s loud talking and gestures, so he must have had more space for it that day.
Candace, however, instantly stopped talking, and ducked her face down into her shirt.  “Phineas,” she whined.  “Why didn’t you tell me Ferb was coming?”
“I was trying to let you talk before he got here,” Phineas explained, climbing up from his spot sitting on Candace’s bed.  “Because sometimes you can be a little loud, and it can make Ferb uncomfortable.  But I didn’t want to tell you to just stop because you usually just get loud when you’re excited or upset, and it’s not fair to ask you to stop then.”
But Candace just glared at him.  “But I didn’t want to tell him!” she snapped.
Phineas blinked.  “Why not?”
“Because he’s not— he’s not you!” Candace exclaimed, looking away again and shifting uncomfortably.  “He doesn’t get it, and he’s not my brother!”
Phineas tipped his head in confusion, looking back at Ferb, who looked confused right back.  “But he’s gonna be, right?” Phineas asked.
“What are you talking about?” Candace asked, crossing her arms and looking down.
“When Mom and Mr. Fletcher get married,” Phineas said.  “And Mr. Fletcher becomes Dad.  That would make Ferb our brother, right?”
“No!” Candace snapped, though she didn’t really look mad, just upset and uncomfortable.  “Ferb isn’t like you!”
“Well yeah,” Phineas agreed.  “He doesn’t like talking as much.  But he’s still super awesome and fun!  You’d like him too if you got to know him!”
“Phineas,” Candace hissed, glaring at him.  “Only you get to know about Ducky Momo stuff!”
“Why?”
“Because— because—” Candace looked away and hid her head in her hands.  “Because you’re the only one who wouldn’t laugh at me,” she grumbled.
“I like weird things too,” Ferb said, taking a step forward.  “A lot of other people don’t get it.”  He smiled just a little at Phineas, who beamed back.  “Phineas does, though.  And he’s never mean about it.  I like him a lot.”
Ferb turned to look back at Candace, and Candace turned hesitantly to look at him too.
“I wouldn’t laugh at you,” Ferb said.  “I know what that feels like.  I don’t like it, so I wouldn’t do it to you.”
Candace turned to face them both, not saying anything for a minute.  Finally, though, she took a slow step towards Ferb.  “Do you want to watch the episode Phineas missed with him and me?” she asked finally.  She thought for a second.  “We can turn the volume down if you want.”
Ferb smiled and nodded, and Phineas bounced happily in place.
“Yay!” he called.  “Let’s go let’s go!”
Candace finally started to smile, and she followed both of them out of the room and down the stairs towards the living room.  Mom came into the room to set up the TV so they could all watch Ducky Momo, and Candace started to explain to Ferb all of the parts he hadn’t seen and everything he’d need to know before hand.
And as Ferb leaned forward to listen, clearly paying close attention and taking it all as seriously as Candace was, Phineas decided maybe it was time he had two bestest closest most wonderful friends in the whole wide world.
