As a sports management institute, we're passionate about all things sports, and it was an honor to be a part of an event that brought together so many sports enthusiasts. Mr. Daren Ganga, a former Trinidadian cricketer, and the entire CricViz staff attended the event.

Our campus provided the perfect setting for the event, with state-of-the-art facilities and plenty of space. The event was a grand success, and we're proud to have played a part in bringing it to life.

The CricViz team did an outstanding job with the event, bringing their expertise in cricket data and analytics to the forefront. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry, and it was clear that everyone left with a greater understanding of the game and its intricacies.

2023 Spartan Race Elite Series begins with Vermosa kick-off this February

Sweat, swagger, and spirit converge once more as the country’s best obstacle athletes vie for race supremacy to banner this year’s Spartan Elite Series opener at the sprawling suburban city-estate of Vermosa in Imus, Cavite from February 17 to 18.

The Battle of Vermosa features the inaugural 3K Elite Series on Day 1, triggering a gruelling yet glorifying test of physical power and mental toughness akin to the fabled Spartan warrior ethos of ancient Greece. Ninety (45 men and 45 women) Elite Athletes from all over Asia Pacific are expected to slug it out at Vermosa. They were invited based on their ranking and strong finish from previous Spartan races. Also in the roster are top athletes from universities and uniformed personnel, members of the national team which secured golds in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, the last time obstacle course racing was included in the biennial meet. Among the top racers invited are Guinness Book 

World Record Holders for OCR Sandi Abahan and Elias Tabac from the Philippines, Multi Trifecta holder Shen Max of China, Hiroki Asami and Honoka Jinzai of Japan, and Hansol Jang of Korea. “We invite everyone to witness the fastest and fittest athletes in obstacle course racing compete for the first ever 3K Elite Series in the world,” Marc Laurenze Celis, Spartan Race Philippines General Manager said. 

“These athletes will be competing for podium spots, awards, and cash prizes at an Olympic-like level for Obstacle Course Racing and a chance to represent their flag for the upcoming World Championship and The OCR Triple Crown this December”

Day 2 headlines the Philippine National Series featuring age-group competitors around the country and open categories for beginners, enthusiasts, and casual athletes.

“Sprint” challenges all comers to a blistering 5-kilometer run that highlights strength and speed to overcome 20 imposing obstacles towards the finish line. Dubbed “the first stop” to every Spartan’s journey, the Sprint hones a racer’s ability to finish the course in a short period of time. Some returning Spartans focus on the Sprint for years to enhance their running and clearing prowess.

“Super” is a 10-kilometer stretch which equally measures the racer’s strength, endurance, speed, and timing against a 25-obstacle loop. It’s one of the most demanding runs in the Spartan circuit that requires a pace strategy to conquer duration and elevation.

“Hurricane Heat” brings teamwork and leadership to the fore as racers, led by the Krypteia (event leaders), brave the elements and demolish self-doubt to rule the 4-hour challenge. There are no medals at stake in Hurricane Heat but the ultimate grind-out primes every racer to achieve personal evolution after acing physical tasks, problem solving, leadership challenges and solo performance tests under extreme conditions.

Also in the pipe is the 10-kilometer Super Classic Elite and 5-kilometer open Sprint. Just a month later, the Sparta Series moves to Cebu for the Trail 10k and Trail 21k on March. 18. On May 26, Spartans assemble anew in Alviera, Pampanga for the Beast event, alongside the Sprint and Trail 10k jousts, respectively. On July 16, Spartan Race returns to New Clark City in Tarlac for the Stadion. Baguio will then play host to all Spartans for the Trailfecta Weekend and Hurricane Heat 12 Hour. The Spartan Race

I am of the (CORRECT) opinion that he should absolutely get an Applepom look because... fwuffy. and hat with ear holes. and he'd be SO insistent that he's used to the cold and doesn't need it but he will take it once it's insisted on because he's polite and won't refuse Gramma Felmier

Also I think a fun twist on the "someone's sled breaks and their plushie tears so they have to come up with another idea" bit from the other event is that Jack goes wolf mode to pull the sled (because as said in his starsending wish he pulls sleds back at home on breaks to try and get faster as a wolf!)

I'm biased though because I need more Jacc in my life

the reason why red team wins isn’t because they submit tasks last minute. that isn’t even the biggest part of their strategy, so let me tell you what red is doing to win:

delegating tasks: each member has spent most of their time collecting whatever resource the team needs. they work together to come up with specific goals (eg. enchantment table, mining iron, getting string) and then send specific people out to do that task, usually whoever’s free at the moment

helping each other: they would all drop everything at a moment’s notice to help a teammate in trouble

sharing resources: red team shares literally everything they own. most notably, bings and personal quest items

personal tasks: they all help each other out to finish these, and they make sure everyone active gets them done. i think a good chunk of their points come from this category actually, since the other teams don’t seem to prioritize it as much

not seeking fights: ok sure, they’ve gotten in a decent amount of fights, but usually the fight comes to them. they aren’t spending their time searching for people to kill, rather most of their kills have been from running into others in the wild or at spawn (foolish did spend time looking for tina today, but that was mostly looking for blue base as a strategic point)

using time wisely: to kind of add onto the point above, they aren’t spending all their time walking thousands of blocks to others’ bases. they also are very communicative about how much time they have left and what to use it for. they’ll ask how they can help the team with their last ten minutes, for instance

communicating: red team spends almost their entire time on the server in a vc together. I know this isn’t exactly every creator’s thing, but they could still type in chat if they didn’t want to talk. red team have even been leaving discord messages to their teammates to tell them info when they’re not online!

varying their points: i think this is the most important thing tbh. instead of only focusing on tasks or kills, etc. they do a little bit of every. they make sure to do well in every possible point category

being silly: it’s the best part!! the silliness boosts team morale

seriously though, the red team doesn’t just sweep the win at the last minute. if that was true then they wouldn’t log in until the last ten minutes. all the active members spend their 5 hours (or however long they’re playing that day) working on gathering materials and being useful for the team. the only advantage they have from being online later is they know how many points they need to get to catch up. so they can sort of measure how many kills or resources they’d need, etc. but knowing what they need doesn’t guarantee they’ll get it. the red team puts a lot of hard work into their wins it’s not just a cheap sweep. they are clever, resourceful, and strategic

just think about it. russians invaded the territory of Ukraine. with tanks, heavy artillery, rockets and infantry. invaded the Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

completely destroyed it and killed the inhabitants, whose bodies still lie buried under the windows of their houses and in the middle of the streets. some days during periods of heavy russian shelling, up to 150 people a day were buried in mass graves.

the russians killed whole families and then brought other russians to their homes for settlement. in apartments where the devastation caused by the russians and the personal things of the murdered Ukrainians are still visible.

they came to foreign territory, killed the local people and settled in their houses. these are non-humans. terrorists. occupiers.

how can the civilized modern world watch this barbarism and continue to cooperate with russians, listen to russian music, watch russian films, enjoy russian art and tolerate russians in everyday life? russians are a bloodthirsty nation. half of them come and kill, and the other half profit from it, come after and steal the belongings of the killed, steal their homes, their future, their lives.

I don't have enough words. only anger, only pain for my country and my people. please don't stop supporting Ukraine.

Can we get rid of the notion that "one post isnt gonna do much" or "my platform isnt big enough anyway" when it comes to sharing what's going on in Gaza?

Israel has been in control of the narrative for years. And with the rise of social media platforms, they are depending on you and me thinking "my voice doesnt mean anything anyway". They want us to give up.

At this point if you havent shared anything about it, even though you're an active member on a social media platform, you are giving israel exactly what they want. They want the world to forget or ignore what they're doing.

Of course you're still allowed to make fandom posts, post aesthetic pictures, talk about personal anecdotes or interests. But if you are active in doing the above while still maintaining silent on what's happening in Gaza after a whole ass month,,,you are essentially silencing the Gazan voice in a way you maybe hadn't considered:

Because by being an active member (posting unrelated things) yet still remaining silent on a humanitarian crisis, you're essentially normalising disinvolvement in a humanitarian crisis.

Remember, israel is counting on the world to forget/ignore what's happening. Your silence only helps them.
