REMINDER!! the second strike for palestine is happening TOMORROW: monday, december 18th 2023. please, PLEASE! I strongly urge you to PARTICIPATE IN THIS STRIKE in at least some way! do you part, wether that be not getting gas or going to work for the for the day. spread the word about it: get your local unions and syndicates to strike as well. do not GIVE or TAKE anything out of the bank and DON’T use your credit card(s)on this day. cash-only transactions are strongly encouraged. CALL your provincial or state representatives and DEMAND for a ceasefire.
we cannot let our voices go silent. no one is free until we all are. isr*el is a racist, terrorist and apartheid state. free palestine and free the people from oppression!! 🇵🇸
yes seeing the palestine tags not trending for days in a row is disheartening — but that doesn’t mean we’re not talking about it. we are still talking and sharing and reading and we will continue to do so until palestine and every other group of people struggling for freedom are liberated, and beyond.
we have known since this intense new wave of ‘israeli’ aggression started that all social media platforms have been suppressing all forms of palestinian content. so do not become disheartened or demotivated by the lack of tags trending—
*because that does not mean we have stopped talking.*
as people who are not currently in palestine, and especially as non-palestinians, we do not have the right to become demotivated by anything in this situation. we do not have the right to complain that it seems like nothing is changing. we do not have the right to lose hope when palestinians have been passionately fighting the occupation since it began.
and, do not forget about the other struggles for liberation in the world right now. keep talking about palestine, keep talking about congo, keep talking about sudan, about the uyghurs, about the rohingya, about *humanity.*
A general strike has been declared in the West Bank
A comprehensive strike in the occupied West Bank to protest Israel’s violent incursions paralysed life in the occupied territory on Sunday.
The strike came in response to calls from political forces, unions, and civil society organisations after the Israeli army raided the Tulkarm city and the Nur Shams camp in the northern West Bank.
At least 14 Palestinians were killed in Israeli military raids on the Nur Shams refugee camp, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Saturday.
Earlier Saturday, Faisal Salama, the head of the services committee in the Nur Shams camp, told Anadolu that the Israeli attack caused massive damage to infrastructure in the camp.
Parallel to its onslaught on the Gaza Strip since 7 October, the Israeli army has escalated raids and arrests in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem.
The thing about some people thinking that Palestinians are only deserving of living when they're submitting -or 'peaceful' in their own white man's words- is that this is not an uncommon narrative, and even being "peaceful" doesn't guarantee freedom, but guarantees a quieter and more discreet murder. POC are usually held at very high moral standards -white Western standards of course- and they're not given the right to be humans who have flaws and have varying opinions and ideologies. POC have been portrayed as "barbaric" and "savage" throughout history to justify the white man's narrative of ethnic cleansing being "self-defense". In simpler words, if this POC submits to my oppression and abuse, then they're my definition of "peaceful" but I'll continue oppressing them anyway with less noise from the public. If they, however, resist, then they fit the misconception that I, a white man, spread, and therefore I can justify my killing them. The West thinks basic human rights are conditional when it comes to POC, with current emphasis on Palestinians, because they think if a person doesn't subscribe to every single Western ideology, then they're undeserving of living. If we apply the idea that if a person -any person- doesn't subscribe to certain ideologies then they're deserving of death, it'd be safe to say that this world would end in just a couple of hours. Palestinians are humans and they don't need to live up to the unrealistic moral standards of the West to be deserving of their basic human rights.
This is happening right now. Tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of protestors showed up in Washington DC today to march for a free Palestine and an end to US support of Israel.
This will not stop. We will not stop protesting and advocating and marching until Palestine is free. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah, Al-Khalil, and all Palestinian cities in the West Bank are on strike in response to the assassination of the national leader and martyr Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri.
I've not seen anything about this on here but there's a global strike for Palestine tomorrow (March 2nd). Go to protests if you can, don't go to work or participate in social events, but at the very least stop posting about anything but Palestine for this one day. Donate, spread resources, share Palestinian stories, keep all the focus on Palestine, make the governments and the ICJ listen
Reblog, spread it around. The more people that know and participate the better

"ummmmm yeah that strike bisan called for is really rushed and leaves no time to prepare for it and its during finals season and it's just poorly organized :/" hmmm I. well. I wonder why a palestinian journalist living in palestine is calling for a strike on very short notice. i wonder why a palestinian journalist living in the midst of her own genocide for the past two months where. where disease outbreaks are rising and no one can find food or water and many of these people (including bisan herself a few weeks ago at one point) are not expecting to live more than a few days let alone weeks. I wonder why someone living in this horrific and incredibly bleak and uncertain situation is calling for strikes without planning weeks/months in advance. I wonder why! they are not planning these with weeks/months or even days of prep time in mind! I wonder why! this is quite a conundrum! lets uh. lets put our fucking thinking caps on! so to speak!
