Man, I like Daily Wire in concept but Matt Walsh needs to shut the fuck up about video games. The same guy who tried to resurrect the tired old "violent video games are harmful!" crap is now acting like he's the first person to notice that video games are pushing woke nonsense (even though there are about a hundred channels and outlets that have been talking about this for years) but his solution is to, of course, for the right to stop playing video games.
No. Just, no.
This is the same "bury our head in the sand and pretend pop culture doesn't exist" mindset that got us into this situation in the first place. You can't win a war (and there is a culture war going on, no matter how many people on both sides want to pretend otherwise) by retreating from every battlefield. You win by raising awareness of a problem and then offering a real solution.
And it's especially stupid seeing this cultural retreat mindset from someone working for DW because DW actually knows exactly how to fight this battle. They created their own media company to fight against woke Hollywood. Are all their movies and shows good? No, not at all. But they still did the right thing. They put their money where their mouth is, and created an alternative.
A much better example is Angel Studios, which is probably the only Christian movie studio I've ever seen that puts out top quality content with great acting, writing, and production values. They're raking in money and getting their content onto mainstream streaming services as well as theaters. In other words, they're taking their message to the people who need it the most. The ones who aren't already in the echo chamber. Unlike Daily Wire, which only offers its content on its own website through a subscription service to its own audience, and never advertises anywhere.
Another successful example outside of movies is Eric July's Rippaverse. He's been killing it with his comics, with every single one of his campaigns raking in over a million dollars, every cent of which is reinvested back into his business, helping it grow, creating more content, and expanding his already impressive roster of writers and artists. Mainstream writers and artists, by the way. Like Chuck Dixon, the guy who co-created Bane and wrote the seminal Tim Drake Robin comics, among many other credits, and Mike Baron, who wrote some of the best early Punisher comics. Eric had a following before he started the Rippaverse. He runs a successful YouTube channel and he's a regular contributor to The Blaze. He could have walled himself off with his fanbase, wrote comics about ancaps saving the world from the evils of government, and made some money while pandering to the people who already agreed with him. Instead, he went big. He invested his own money, runs his own distribution center, owns his own business with zero outside investors, hires the best talent he can, and offers a product that focuses on story and characters over messaging. His work isn't even "anti-woke". It's just not woke.
And that's what we need in video games. We need alternatives. We need to roll up our sleeves and wade into the deep waters and actually contribute our ideas and our talents. Offer an alternative. Hire people who know what they're doing, who care about quality content first and social engineering never. There is a huge untapped audience who would pay hand over fist for good video games free from microtransactions and woke nonsense.
But retreating is not an option. It's not brave or moral to hide in our echo chambers and scoff at anything fun. Entertainment is necessary. And maybe more importantly, it's not going anywhere. We will never live in a world where people go to work and spend time with their families at home and do nothing else. We need to engage with the world as it is. Not wait around for whatever our idea of a perfect world is to magically form so we can finally interact with it. You can't change society if you keep pretending large swaths of it don't exist.

been seeing a lot of people defend Sweetbaby inc on twitter because "ooooo the anti-woke people don't like them so they must be good and they must just be angry that there's women and poc in video games" and I'm begging people to fucking ignore those clowns for 5 seconds and realize that what SBI doing really isn't a good thing. If you're not happy with how flat and stereotypical characters that are suppose to be "inclusive" are being written currently you should be against SBI. If you want better writing and better quality of diverse characters in video games you should be against SBI. If you want genuine storytelling in your video games you should be against SBI. Support indie creators and games made by actual diverse devteams, not corporations that are only being inclusive so you spend your money on them and for no other reason. You deserve the best representation possible, not shitty husks of characters or barebones storylines that only exist to fufill a marketing checkbox. You deserve better than SBI. Don't stand for it. You should want your games to be good and for the people making them to care about what they're making.

Minority Ambassadorship
I need to get something off my chest and it’s been bothering me for a while but I could never figure out the right words. So I’m just going to shoot my shot and clarify if need be. I’m all for representation and all that but the way it’s been handled in recent years.
The thing that helped me finally click all the pieces together was the recent Spider-Man game. While Peter has a proper adventure Miles is not. He’s doing side jobs and while obviously showing he’s part of the community, his story also falls into a dangerous trap I keep seeing. They (the writers) make him the ambassador of his culture no one is the entirety of their culture but writers keep doing this stuff.
White folks in stories have the freedom to be anything, like anything and feel anything. They’re organically made all the time. But the moment a different race takes the stage they’re chained to the cultural stereotypes. Even Wakanda has just become “Africa the Country” theirs no uniqueness to it, it’s populated by every conceivable African Stereotype. Heck I remember a few years back a marvel comic was made with Miles being made the new Thor and IMMEDIATELY Asgard turned into a Ghetto and it was the most racist joke I’ve seen in a while.
This isn’t new by any means. More often than not when an American enters an anime they’re stereotypically American. Wearing the American flag, usually blond for some reason, constantly swearing and won’t shut up and if we’re feeling REALLY spicy we can make them big and scary.
That habit of writers though can create a feeling of “otherness” to anyone that isn’t you and can actually reinforce stereotypes. You’re not your culture and you shouldn’t be pressured into that mindset. You can absolutely be influenced by it but people aren’t just ambassadors to their culture. That’s ignorant to the highest degree.
Considering many games that do this are affiliated with Sweet Baby Inc. I’m not surprised but it just means we should fight harder against it.
Sweet Baby Inc. is one of those companies that’s basically “sensitivity writers” they show up to punch up stories to make them more “inclusive” but what this usually means is make them subtly racist, homophobic and authoritarian and barring that making a story less interesting. They’re involved with almost every failure within recent types in the gaming market including Suicide Squad and Last of Us 2. They even worked on Spider-Man 2 and the Miles Morales Game. Both of which you can see what I’m talking about by making Miles the Ambassador of Black People and Harlem. They were even involved with the Spanish Translation of Spider-Man 2 which upset that entire part of the world because they used words like Latinx which is considered a slur and an act of colonialism as white people try to force them to change their own language.
Sweet Baby Inc. and its employees are a bunch of racists, homophobes and Authoritarians pulling the greatest grift of all time by pretending to not hate those people and acting like they don’t want to control how people think. The mask has come off frequently and only recently has it come off in such spectacular fashion that a lot of the internet is starting to notice myself included.
In conclusion though, don’t be a racist and let characters of other races and sexual orientation be actual people instead of being the ambassadors of their people. Don’t support bigots that pretend to be on your side and be mindful of people like that. Also don’t buy anything Sweet Baby Inc touched because they’re all of those things.

Based on what you reblog are you going to tell people that we shouldn't buy these games because sweet baby Incorporated is involved? I feel like after what I've been told I think that's a dumbass reason
I just don't think that a company whose entire business model is just "make games more diverse" is worth supporting. I don't think they're single-handedly responsible for every problem in the game industry, but I doubt many games would be much worse off without them. I believe that hiring a consultant who has no actual investment in a game's story or mechanics and who wants to change those aspects in order to "be more inclusive" will just tend to make the game worse, since it's taking focus away from what the game's writers and designers actually intended
This is also the same company whose employees tried to get a Steam user's account banned for simply creating a list of all the games that Sweet Baby worked on, a list that was based on publicly available information from their own website
I'm not even really telling anyone what to do, I just want to avoid giving them money if they don't have to. Realistically, most of the games on that list are probably ones that I wasn't going to play anyway. I absolutely don't want Steam or any other retailer to take down or censor games that were worked on by Sweet Baby. I'm the most anti-censorship person on the planet, but suggesting that people don't buy a game isn't censorship

Evil never sleeps.
When the Leftists found that we no longer trusted their fake game journalism, they resolved to install communism through back doors, to make us eat their chocolate coated cotton, using DEI and ESG as bars to pry open our mouths.
But Sweet Baby Inc and Google's AI went too far, revealing that they were deliberately sabotaging games in the hope it would hurt the hated ciswhite males.
And now they are exposed. They are afraid. They've been caught, pants down, not so much as a pink wig to cover their shame.

hoping people start to realize that some of these "chud gaming opinions" were actually extremely valid criticisms that were warped into something annoying by a couple of obnoxious people. If we don't start calling this shit out and doing something about it, we're going to see a lot more things like poorly written characters that are suppose to be "inclusive" but exist to check boxes a la hazbin hotel style and massive plot excluding localization changes in the future. People don't realize that these things affect them as players until it actively circles around to bite them in the ass. I've seen so many people floored over the Tears of the Kingdom localization changes and all I can do is sit here and think "damn, we told you this was a problem years ago and you wrote us off like we were on the same level of people who whine about video games being 'too woke.'"
gamergate 2, the 2020's video game crash, whatever you want to call it, I hope y'all realize this is because people continued to ignore gamers with valid complaints and equated us to /pol/users and now it's almost too late to prevent a near total collapse of the gaming industry because of it!
