Halloween of 1981 had to have been one of the darkest days in history. Lily and James Potter were dead, killed by Voldemort. Peter Pettigrew, dead, killed by his own friend Sirius Black, who is now in Azkaban.

Remus was still grieving the death of Marlene McKinnon when he found out about what happened to his best friends. He could barely hold in his tears as he held (Y/N) in his arms, who was already sobbing at the news.

The two couldn't believe it. How could Sirius Black sell out his own best friend and his wife to the Dark Lord? How could he kill his friends? Had he been hiding his loyalty this whole time?

The days following James and Lily's deaths were spent in darkness. Remus would sit in the room he and (Y/N) shared, staring at the fairy lights stringed about the walls. (Y/N) would spend her mornings doing tasks for the Order, while at night she would wallow in the arms of Remus.

Just when they thought things were terrible, it unfortunately got worse.

(Y/N) and Remus' good friend Dorcas Meadowes was found dead. Killed by Voldemort himself. Why? They'll never know.

The two were distraught, (Y/N) more so than Remus as she was closer to Dorcas. It appeared that (Y/N) would follow in Remus' own routine, hiding away in the spare bedroom that they used to let their friends rest in when they were over. At nights, she would return to her and Remus' bedroom to shower and sleep.

Remus could hear her sobs during her showers.

As the days went on, (Y/N) had began to accept the fate of her friends. Or she was hiding her true emotions from Remus, who remained a mess at the loss of his mates. Each day, (Y/N) would try to talk with Remus and get him out of the house. Unfortunately, the only time he would leave was during the full moon so not to hurt her.

Remus began distancing himself from (Y/N). He'd wake up earlier than her, he would have lunch before her, he would keep himself locked in the bedroom during the day, wait 'til she was asleep to turn in.

Anything to be alone.

(Y/N) had tried to follow Remus' new routine, trying to catch him whenever she could. Even if she had to wake up earlier than she would, even if she had to stay up later to see Remus join her in bed. Anything she could to try to talk with Remus.

Silly girl.

It became rare for the two to even have a long lasting conversation, let alone a lighthearted, joyful chat. Any words spoken were those of sorrow and anger. The young woman had once attempted to talk to Remus about his mood changing, trying to get him to talk through it.

It ended in tears and slamming doors.

Since that talk, tensions between the two were higher than ever, and not in the way one may think. They began to have more arguments in a month than they ever had in their entire relationship.

Though one argument was not like the others.

"Rem, come on!" She pleaded with him. "You haven't been outside in months! Everybody is starting to assume you're dead!"

"Well let them think that! Everyone I cared or loved is already dead. Anyone who's ever loved me is gone."

"But what about me?" She asked him. "I'm still here Remus. But lately you act like I'm not!"

Remus stops his tracks in the living room. "Sorry that our friends dying has affected me so badly."

"Remus, you're acting like you're the only one affected by their deaths." She says to him. "I'm upset about it too. They were my friends as much as they were yours."

"You never knew James or Sirius or Peter like I did," Remus yells at her. "You never spent most of your school years with them, knowing every little thing about them."

"That doesn't mean we weren't friends and you know that Remus. You're acting like they were the only people you've lost," the woman says. "I lost Lily. I lost Marlene, Dorcas. Hell, have you even heard about what happened to Mary? She's gone missing Remus! They're saying she might've been killed."

"You don't need to remind me everyone that's gone, (Y/N)! I'm more than aware of what's happening and I don't need to be reminded."

The woman huffed. "Well with the way you're locked up here, it seems like it."

"Not everyone can carry on with their lives after finding out someone who was basically like family is dead!" Remus shouts.

"Well, sorry I've been busy distracting myself with work from the Order! Trying to do what I can to help anyone that left!"

All Remus could do was roll his eyes, frustration clouding his emotions. "Why even bother? They couldn't save our friends, now they're gone! You're being stupid."

"Remus-"

"Bloody hell, I can't do this. I'm leaving." The boy declares, having enough of this.

Remus stomped out the door, slamming it behind him. All (Y/N) could do was dropped to her knees in tears, exhaustion hitting her. Sobs filled the empty room.

The man fled to the streets of London, finding shelter in a hotel near the heart of the city. He spent a few nights there, getting the space he felt he deserved. Remus had no one to talk to about this, and sitting in a lonely white bed had reminded him of it.

No James. No Lily.

No Sirius. No Marlene.

No Peter. No Dorcas.

No Mary.

He had no one. Except (Y/N).

Oh what an idiot he is.

Remus had let his anger get the best of him. He had yelled at his favorite girl and basically told her to fuck off. What a dick he is. The fight had began to flood his head, reminding him of how much he screwed up.

He had to go find her.

The werewolf quickly left the hotel, determined to return to where he and (Y/N) were last together.

He ran to the streets and waved his arms haphazardly, aiming to flag down the nearest cab. He stumbled inside the next one that stopped for him and told him the address.

As soon as the cab stopped by his house, Remus gave him money and ran to the door. He took the key from his pocket and unlocked their apartment door. He pushed the door open to a silent living room.

"Hello?" Remus calls out. "(Y/N) are you here?"

The young man began wandering through the apartment, which seemed slightly emptier than usual. His bedroom seemed the most off to him. He couldn't have been away that long, right?

A white envelope sitting against a vase on the night stand had caught his eye. 'Remus' was written on the front in pretty handwriting that he knew belonged to his girlfriend. He opened it up to reveal a letter for him.

He sat on the floor against his bed and began reading it. As he read through it, he felt his heart crumbling to pieces. It felt like everything was hitting him all at once.

Remus,

I've decided it was time for me to say so long to the place I once called home.

As much as I love this place, London, England, I cannot bear being here anymore. All the memories I've made with everyone will haunt me knowing I've been the unfortunate one who was chosen to be alive out of them.

I'll be leaving the country to go who knows where. Anywhere will be better than here. I think I'd implode if I stayed here any longer.

I've also decided to start clean and leave my wizarding roots behind. As much as I loved being a witch, going to Hogwarts and learning magic, I can't think about it without being reminded of what happened. I don't want my past to follow me around.

I'm sorry I couldn't have done better, Remus. I'll miss you, and I hope your life gets better. Hope you find someone better.

Remus couldn't believe it. He had lost the last person in his life that cared for him. His whole world was gone, taken from him.

He stood up and shoved the vase to the ground out of anger, watching it shatter. Water ran across the floor under the broken pieces and ruined flowers.

What is your brain’s canon timeline for the mauraders era?

So, I'm going to be vague for now but if I feel ambitious maybe I'll make an in-depth one. This is my VERY not canon-compliant, in-a-happy-world timeline. I am also partially high on the fumes from wood stain, so take this with a grain of salt. I can also do a canon-compliant one if you like.

First year: End of the year, Sirius, James, and Peter find out about Remus being a werewolf

Second and Third year: Regulus and Sirius have a falling out because family trauma.

Thirdish year: idea for the Marauder's Map is formed, they spend a year or so perfecting it but are constantly adding to it

Third year as well: Remus realizes he's in love with Sirius. He's more emotionally aware but also hates himself so he pines silently.

Fourthish year: Dorcas and Marlene make the quidditch team, become rivals. Dorcas is Out and Proud. Marlene is not. She probably hooks up with Sirius at some point but they're better off as friends.

Third-fifth year: James wants Lily. He is an idiot. Lily does not want him back.

Beginning of fifth year: Sirius, James, and Peter succeed at being animagi. Remus has to resist kissing Sirius because he was the one who came up with the idea. Poor Remus.

End of fifth year: The Prank. The Dark Ages.

Summer between fifth and sixth year, Sirius runs away, Remus forgives Sirius because....Sirius is hurt and he just loves him, okay?

Sixth year: the year of pining for Wolfstar. Sirius has realized what it's like to lose Remus and Doesn't Want That Again, realizes his feelings but won't share them because he is terrified.

Also sixth year: James cools down about Lily. Lily is a raging lesbian. She hooks up with some randoms, but it doesn't really work out.

Also Also sixth year: Marlene is like, oh shit, lesbians. Women. Girls. Is like ooooo all those issues with Dorcas are sexual tension. This is not solved quickly because both of them are stubborn.

End of sixth year: Wolfstar gets their shit together. As do Dorlene. Perhaps with dramatic confessions.

Summer between sixth and seventh year: Regulus runs away to James's house because he is Very Gay and probably fucked Barty at some point, but just because Barty is arguably attractive and they both were bored. Barty still insists that he's not gay. Oh, Barty.

Seventh year: James has a Gay Crisis and falls for Reggie because Reggie is beautiful to him but everyone else thinks he's an asshole. Eventually Reggie returns said feelings because he's apparently attracted to idiots.

Also seventh year: Because Dorcas and Marlene, and Reggie and James are together, Lily meets Pandora. Yay, Pandalily!

Only after Reggie gets his shit together do Rosekiller realize, hey, we are Also Gay- For Each Other. Better late than never.

This isn't the timeline that any of my fics follow exactly, but this is my ideal timeline lol. Hope that helps!

Quick rant about ATYD because, the slander just does not make sense to me. It's not a perfect fic and people are allowed to not like it but some of the reasons for people not liking it are just so weird to me. Like- people don't like it because Sirius is sexist.... Sirius is a teenage boy. Do the people that say that hang out with teenage boys IRL? They are sexist and sometimes racists, pieces of shit- especially around their guy friends or girl they think 'are cool with it'. Also, it was the 70's. Like, do people not realize that a white, rich (like fully out of touch with reality, Billionaire with money dating back to the 15th century Rich), SEVERLY TRAUMATIZED cis guy from the 70's would be a piece of shit as a child. Like, as Sirius got older he would grow to regret all the fucked up stuff he said an take the time to actually apologize and stuff but we never saw that because he was 21 when he was imprisoned. He never even left his frat boy era. And then I have seen others be mad because they made Dorcas white. This is a complaint I have only seen from white people and as a Black mauraders fan, it literally does not matter. Like- Dorcas meadows is a character mentioned less than five times in the entire series, with her race being nothing more than a token black person that J.K shoved in The Order to prove it wasn't all white and that the HP world has diversity. Her being made white changes nothing in the plot. People also say that wolfstar is toxic in it, like this isn't a fic about two deeply traumatized boys with no role models or healthy relationships or base their own off of, other than Effie and Fleamont which they don't meet until they are like 13. Like, of course they are going to be toxic and fucked up- their entire lives have been fucked up. The only valid critique I have seen is the fact that the G word is used to describe the wolf packs. Granted, I didn't know that was a slur until 2021 or so, it's still a fucked up term to use. But yeah, I feel like people often say it's a bad work, which is fine if you just don't vibe with it, but the reasoning for not liking it makes me pause a little because 'what?'.

Edit: Forgot to say this but people also hate the characterization of Mary because she is oversexualized, to which I say: so is Sirius. Like, they are both sooooo fucking slutty and sleep around a bunch, the fact that people only talk about Mary in this light can be attributed to one of two things. Either A: grasping at straws, or B: Putting the weight on Remus's narration. Him being inexperienced for alot of his time as hogwarts would allow for any kiss or hookup seem like the end of the world for in his eyes and by reading with the grain I can understand that- but even then don't slut shame the black women and not the Black. "but mary lost her virginity at 14"- people get their sexual urges right as they hit puberty. Teens are horny. In the 7th grade my middleschool took an all day trip that used to be over night until two students got caught fucking in a cabin. 13 year old 7th graders. I am not saying it is right to loose your virginity at such a young age but it isn't unheard of.

Edit 2: Last edit I swear, but I just saw some one's post saying they didn't like how remus having a learning disability was for shits and gigs or that he did drugs and joined a gang. Firstly, remus having a learning disability is a beautiful metaphor for his lycanthropy and class. He is studying along side his friends, completely confused and just playing along to not give anything away. It doubles onto how isolated Remus must have felt and his whole problem with opening up to others. Also, the fact that Remus had to push himself so hard academically just to get the same grades as his rich friends who coast by on their name and the fact that they have been learning latin and french from tutors since they could walk- I mean, it's just chef's kiss. And, do people not realize that people in the real world do drugs? That a lot of people struggle with addiction and are more prone to said struggle when they grow up in a shitty environment with out learning proper ways to cope with the traumatic events? Remus was in a gang because he was surrounded by people who were in a gang- people who understood him more than James or Sirius did.

Like, I know that I can't really say this because I am a legal adult ranting on tumblr, but all of the slander just makes me want to tell people to go outside. Make friends irl- not mutuals. Touch grass, hand out with people you age. Like yes atyd isn't perfect but it was very much accurate to how real people would have been in the 70's and I personally prefer that to the babygirl-ification of every male character in Harry Potter to the points where they are almost caricatures of themselves

Y/n placed the beautiful heart shaped picnic basket she had previously purchased for this specific occasion. The girls had been planning this picnic for months now, making them buy an unhealthy amount of things to make the picnic as cute as possible.

Marlene had placed a big red silk blanket on the grass while the others placed the food and bags they brought just to avoid them getting away. Lily had placed in the middle the charcuterie board she had spent all night preparing while Marlene took out the glasses and champagne from the picnic basket.

Mary took out the heart shaped red velvet cake she had baked with the words Men suck on top while Dorcas took out from her tote bag the chocolate covered strawberries.

“You know I’m glad we finally decided to do this! I needed a day out for us” Lily said while taking a bite of the chocolate covered strawberries. She quickly closed her eyes, savoring the taste. Marlene rolled her eyes playfully at her antics while serving herself a bit of champagne.

“I think this is our best galentine's day yet, nothing can ruin our cute little picnic” before Y/n could keep talking about big raindrops starting pouring out. The girls groaned trying to save the things they had as fast as they could but it was too late because the food was already covered in water.

“We can never win,” Marlene responded, turning to the girls, her hair covering her face. The other girls were drenching in water looking pretty similar to Marlene.

“Well, Galentine's day is ruined. Better luck next year” Mary responded but before they could do anything. The rain suddenly stopped. Y/n looked up to see the guys holding umbrellas around them.

“Wait, what are you guys doing here?” Marlene asked, looking at Sirius.

“No thank you? Never saving you again” Sirius responded sarcastically while looking at her.

“Sorry, I’m grateful that you guys are here but how did you guys know we were here” Marlene responded looking all around the group

“ Y/n had told me you guys were doing your picnics here and when I noticed it was going to rain I decided to come here to pick you guys off before it rained. Guess we were a little too late” James responded holding an umbrella for Y/n.

“You think?” Lily responded sarcastically but after noticing how harsh she sounded she quickly muttered an apology.

“We appreciate you guys saving us! By the looks of it, it won’t stop raining. So we should just pack our things and go back” Y/n responded while kneeling down to pick what couldn’t be trown away.

“Actually we have a plan b for you girls” Remus said pointing towards a big tent a few feet away from them.

“Don’t be shy! It’s not a picnic but we tried our best, so you girls go while we clean here. Enjoy your galentines” James responded while the girl quickly ran toward the tall tent. When they entered they noticed the beautifully decorated table that was adorned with lots of flowers. The decorations were all around, red and pink covering the areas. Marlene quickly grinned looking at the girls.

“What are we waiting for?! You heard them, let's enjoy galentine's day!” Marlene picked up a glass of champagne making the girls follow her actions.

“To Galentine's day” she said while raising her glass.

“To galentine's day!” All them said loudly clinking their glasses.

Ok now for some other basic information about how I roleplay.

I don't really so ships a lot? Idk why but I don't enjoy it very much. So y'know OCxOC is really fun. I also do OCxCC but one rule I have is that I only do double ups for OCxCC because I just like everything to be equal.

My writing style changes and fluctuates with my partner. However, one thing I ask is you at least write one paragraph with enough substance for me to write something good off of. 4-5 sentences at least please.

I do fandom roleplays and non-fandom roleplays just let me know! I also do every genre except for horror just because I find it really hard to write. But I do really like to incorporate romance in everyone if that's ok? Roleplay is an escape for me so romance helps with that.

Okay so first off I should say almost everything I know is from the Krakoa Era, from House of X/Powers of X up to roughly Sins of Sinister (I’m a lil behind rn), but I have read ALL of that period.

Idk how much I have in specific opinions off the top of my dome but I will say Krakoa was always kind of wack to me. Old friends Xavier and Erik just decide that this MUST be the solution based on Moira’s promises but as soon as she suggests that “hey maybe this plan I came up with based on VERY limited data might not be the best?” they kick her out of the club and wipe their only chance at a reset when everything (inevitably) goes bad!

Also like. Hey Krakoa isn’t infinitely big. Even Arrako isn’t all that big. Did you ever have a plan for when your country of immortal idiots with a commandment to Make Babies outgrew its resources? Or did they just know this plan would either collapse or lead to The Worlds Most Self-Righteous Genocidal Empire (Hi Sinister)?

All that being said. I’ve really loved all the different tones and approaches that the different series have taken to these books. Its the first time I’ve felt like a comic universe really clicked for me and I think its because there’s so many creators all working around a central pillar that is so compelling, and I’m going to be really sad when Krakoa finally falls apart in earnest. I don’t know what comes after this for the X-Men - this has changed the status quo so much that its hard for me to imagine a post-Krakoa storyline that is half as compelling. That being said, the books have suffered a little with the loss of their focused graphic design leadership - that was what really held the line together for me and its starting to feel much looser. I’m still incredibly excited to catch up and I already have my orders in for the FotHoX and RotPoX.

Summary :

Players will sit in a circle and the Quidditch chest will be placed on the center. Each player must have 12 cards facing down and should have two seperate piles for discarding and drawing a card.

Each Player will draw 5 cards, If you want to draw a card, you must also discard a card and put the discard pile on your left for the person on your life which will become their personal draw pile. If the draw pile is empty, you can always reach the piles from the chest.

When you finally have a matching set of cards. Set it in front of you.

The numbers on top qualify how many cards you should match the draw to the specific type of cards

Types of Cards

Item Cards / Points - Cards such as Cauldrons, Broomsticks, Wands and Potions are simply items which costs 10 points as a set. You need 3 matching cards as a set.

Keeper / Quaffle - Quaffles cost 10 points each. When the Quaffle card is drown, no one can steal cards from you while you have the Quaffle. When the Keeper/Quaffle card is drawn by another player, it will be moved to them. You will need to draw 1 card as a set.

Chaser / Steal - Chaser cards do not cost points but, you can steal a set of items from a player and place your chaser on top of it. No one may steal that set for the rest of the game. You will need 2 pairs as a set.

Beaters / Bludger / Draw 5 ( Don't get bludgered ! )

- when drawn, the player with the bludge card will pick one bludger and call a friend to swat it to another player. The chosen player hit with the bludger will discard all 5 cards and redraw 5 new ones and return the Bludger to the chest and make sure to press/click it. If the bludger doesn't hit the chosen player: you lose nothing and the chosen friend who swatted the bludger must return the bludger and make it click.

Seekers / Additional Points to Catching the Snitch

- when the snitch is caught, each seekers infront of you is worth 10 points. The Seeker card is only valid when you're the player who caught the snitch which only adds to the total on the end of the round.

Catch the Golden Snitch!

- after a random amount of clicks after returning the bludger. The snitch will launch on its own and players will have to catch the snitch mid-air without hovering over the chest. Hovering/Guarding is not allowed.

The person who caught the snitch gains 15 points and players with seeker cards draws additional points.

When the snitch is finally caught. The round ends and each player has to total their earned points during the game. The player with most points win.

Upon my commentary about this game, I'll start with the positive reviews: the game is quite exciting, portable as well and seems to be a fun mixture of uno and a creative way to bring 'quidditch' as a card game. (I almost called it fictional without considering it is a matter-of-fact a real sport. lol) the design is quite minimalistic and the box is quite detailed and the cards are well-designed. Now, unto my criticism: the rules seems too complicated or over exaggerated along with some cards that don't specify if points will be earned. The design of the Hogwarts logo on the Quaffle is too dark and the design is useless if it doesn't appear too well on camera. As for the snitch, it can be a hazard and may hit someone on the eye for it's unpredictability, I dont suggest ages from 8+ and rather change it to 13+ and above since most 8-year-olds are often more raced to their excitement than logical thinking. I also think its rather complicated and unnecessary to use another player's discard pile if you can also reach for the extra cards closest to the chest box. I also find it complicated to draw 1 card and then having to put another card away instead of just keeping it. Although, rules of course can be bent. That's all I have for my commentary ! I am a panromantic, asexual, non-binary person (they/it pronouns), an INFP, and an Aries (Pisces rising). My love language is definitely touch. I'm a huge musical theatre nerd, and I also love YA novels and alternative/indie music. I'm autistic, and my special interests include all different kinds of mythology, musical theatre, 80's movies, true crime, Marvel + DC, and Harry Potter!

Personality-wise, I kind of somersault between being an introvert and an extrovert. Like, there are times when I'm super happy and bubbly and I just want to be around people, but then there are moments when all I want is to be alone in my room with an angsty playlist. However, I always try to be kind to everyone I meet (unless they've hurt someone I care about, because then I am going to try my hardest not to like them). I have a photographic memory, so a lot of people assume I'm crazy smart, but most of the information in my head is actually about mythology or random lines from the book I was just reading (😂).

As for characters, I'm fine with any character from Dead Poets Society or the Mauraders Era! Guy or girl, doesn't matter!

i think you two would be perfect together for many reasons: one being i think your personalities would compliment each others so well! you both can be incredibly bubbly and happy, but also appreciate quieter moments when you can just exist together, be alone together. she totally gets that balance, and adores how you have an absolute heart of gold to match!

lily also seems like the type to love musical theatre and mythology, so can and will ask you tons of questions about these interests! on more than one occasion, the others have found you and lily dancing around her dorm room whilst a musical soundtrack plays. she also constantly asks you for music recommendations, wanting to broaden her tastes even further!

and for dead poets society, i’d have to ship you with charlie!

his love language is also touch, so you two can be incredibly affectionate. he always likes to have a hand in yours, or an arm around your shoulder or waist. he just needs to be touching you in some way. an absolute fiend for cuddling, too. he’ll wrap you in his arms and refuse to let go, it’s just the way it is.

charlie is fascinated by your photographic memory, and always just asks you for random mythology facts, or what specific book quote is playing on your mind at the moment. this boy tries to memorise stupid poems to recite to you at the dps meetings and struggles, so he’s super impressed at your abilities.

you introduce charlie to the incredible world of alternative and indie music, and he is *hooked*. make him a mixtape and he’ll melt, seriously. learns the words to your favourite songs so he can sing them obnoxiously to you.

overall, i think lily or charlie would definitely be your perfect partner!
