AO3 SKIN | BRAINSTORMING

I'm working on an AO3 template. At this point, the code has more words than the average chapter of my fanfic 🤣😅 and I’m still nowhere near done, because AO3 has about three tons of options for tweaking every "little fart" 🤣, and I’m a perfectionist who just has to fine-tune every detail. So yeah, I’ve been at it for a week and I’m maybe halfway through.

What I’m wondering is whether anyone would even be interested in templates like this — if it’s actually worth the effort to keep going. I feel like I’m being creative, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be appreciated.

I’d also love to get your opinions and tips — what do you like? What colours, themes, styles do you prefer? I’d be happy to take some inspiration for future stuff. I’m genuinely curious.

I’m adding some previews of what I’m working on right now — it’s leaning toward a more minimalist style (still super time-consuming though, I’m creating all the icons, backgrounds etc. from scratch), with a darker palette and something a bit more reminiscent of social media. Feel free to suggest anything you think might be cool to add (I’m already customising specific elements, and I see the core look staying pretty much like this — but I can be talked into things).

I am constantly struggling with people's inability to accept concepts other than those they are used to in their limited world. Pansexuality is legit! It's not a fancy term for bisexuality. There are real people who are attracted to all genders and sexes. I can be sexually attracted to a cis woman or a trans man. I can love a cis man, also a nonbinary or intersex person. I am queer, I don't care about gender. It's just a social construct. We are individuals. Everyone is unique. And yet, there are still people out there who feel the need to tell me how I feel, who I’m into, who I actually like, and how I must be making it up or just trying to seem interesting. The moment people stop obsessing over labels and who’s sleeping with whom (or not), there’ll be no need for Pride parades or queer events at all. Happy Pride month, everyone! We’re in this together.
