Stolas self-sabotages just as much as Blitzø does. Blitzø’s is just much louder and angrier. He is a flash of intense emotion that pushes you away. Stolas’ self-sabotage, in keeping with his character, is much quieter. He purposely puts himself in very uncomfortable and triggering situations (the Anti-Divorce party, the Anti-Blitzø party…lots of anti parties going on in Hell) because he thinks he has to. He assumes others don’t want to be around him so he doesn’t even try to socialize or form deep connections. And I think it’s worth mentioning, for all his talk in Look My Way about wishing he could see past the defenses Blitz has put up to cope with a harsh life, Stolas’ walls are just as strong, possibly stronger, and he has absolutely no intention of weakening them any time soon. Ever, if he gets his way.
Like, Blitz will mask his pain with jokes, but he’ll still…say it. He’ll still say he has daddy issues. He’ll stay say a Prince could never love an imp and he lashed out in fear. He’ll immediately follow it up with something disingenuous, but the words will still leave his mouth.
But remember in Apology Tour? “I’ve never seen you throw them back this hard.”
Blitz is still on the arc of learning to humanize Stolas instead of putting him on a pedestal, but the pedestal thing is partially Stolas’ fault. We don’t know what Blitz knows about Stolas other than Stolas has a kid, had a wife, collects carnivorous plants, is a gay man, and has an imp butler. Maybe he knows some other things, but we don’t know what else, if anything. Considering Stolas’ MO when he’s overwhelmed is to peace out, and Blitzø has abandonment issues…
But Stolas never told him about Stella. Or Paimon. Or that Octavia is a “precautionary heir.” Or the arranged marriage. Or that the other Goetia think he’s a joke. Or that he’s a rape survivor. Or that he struggles with severe mental health issues. Or even that he’s still injured from Striker’s knife wound.
So, if Blitz hadn’t sabotaged everything first, Stolas definitely would have been the one to do it. Probably so subtly, in such small ways, Blitz wouldn’t have even noticed until he came home from work and Stolas wasn’t there, his stuff gone and there being no indication as to why or how to reach him, most likely because the image he was trying to craft of being normal and put together finally cracked. Better get out now before they realize you’re not who you tricked them into thinking you were, right? Blitzø just loves the mask. And the mask has to fall off at some point. The show has to end.

A Crush On Eddie
Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Part 2 is HERE
WARNINGS: kind of a slow burn, unprotected piv, masturbation (f & m), drinking (reader is drunk, not during sex), vomiting (reader vomits)
Word Count: 4,983 (idk how that happened)
Summary: You've got a crush on Eddie Munson, so you drag your two best friends, Steve and Robin to Corroded Coffin's show. When Steve is too drunk to drive you home, Eddie offers.
A/N: I swear this was supposed to just be a one and done Eddie fic, but oops I got carried away and there's gonna be a part 2 (steddie) sometime in the next few days. Partially unedited, ends on a cliffhanger.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SMUT BELOW THE CUT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You, Steve, and Robin pull up to the shitty little dive bar that Corroded Coffin is playing tonight. You’re nervous, but you’re not sure why. It’s not like Eddie is even going to notice you. You’re just here to enjoy the show and have a fun night out with your best friends. Besides, you haven’t seen Eddie since you were all in high school and you hardly spoke with him then. He probably doesn’t even remember who you are.
Steve has no clue about your little crush on Eddie Munson. He has no idea that he’s the only reason you dragged them to the Corroded Coffin show. Robin, on the other hand, has been forced to listen to your lust filled rants about Eddie on more than one occasion.
“Alright, I’ll grab the drinks, you guys go find us a good clean spot to watch them.” Steve shook his head as he made his way to the bar at the back of the room.
You and Robin found a small table against the wall to the side of the stage. As you two placed your purses and jackets down you looked up and saw Eddie walking towards the bar and your heart skips a beat. He was cute, more than cute, really.
“Oh God. Why don’t you just go talk to him? It’s not like you two don’t already know each other.” Robin is rolling her eyes as she follows your line of sight to Eddie.
“Because. What would I even say? ‘Hi Eddie, remember how we hardly talked during high school and weren’t even friends? Well, I’ve actually got such a huge crush on you that I dragged my two best friends to your show tonight.’ I mean, come on, Robin.” You let out a heavy sigh and sit down on the stool.
Robin finishes draping her jacket over her chair and sits down, “Well, maybe don’t say that. I was more so thinking of something along the lines of ‘hi.’ You know, something normal.”
“What are we talking about?” Steve says as he sets down the drinks.
You catch Robin’s eye and give your head a subtle shake. “Oh, we were just saying how I think that girl over there at the bar is so cute. Y/N was saying I should go talk to her, but I’m just way too nervous.” Robin winks at you as Steve cranes his neck trying to see what girl she’s talking about.
“I didn’t see a cute girl at the bar.” Steve says.
“Oh she must have left already. Anyway thanks for the drinks, I think they’re about to start soon.” Robin spins around to face the stage while Steve is still scoping out the venue for girls.
As all three of you sip your beers and continue talking, the lights dim and Eddie walks onto the stage. You’ve got butterflies already. Robin turns back to look at you, she’s got a knowing smirk on her face. You roll your eyes and take another swig of your drink.
After the first few songs, you start to loosen up a little bit. Steve has gotten you your second beer and you’re almost ready for your third. You really weren’t planning to drink a lot tonight, but you have been wanting to talk to Eddie and you figured the alcohol would make it a little easier.
The next time Steve goes to the bar, Robin pulls you towards the front of the stage. “Robin, what are you doing?”
“Trying to help you get a closer look at your future boyfriend.” Robin is giggling so hard that a few drops of her beer splash over the rim of the bottle.
“Please.” You’re rolling your eyes again, but you’re definitely enjoying the close up view of Eddie. You rake your eyes over him and you can’t help but linger on the spot right below his belt buckle.
“I see you guys are getting in on the action!” Steve comes up behind you and hands you and Robin another beer. “I’m gonna go hang at our table. I’m trying to get this girl’s number, told her to meet me over there.” He walks off towards your table.
You turn back around to face the stage, and notice Eddie is looking right at you. Eddie Munson is looking at you. Your breath catches in your throat as he looks away towards the other side of the crowd.
Robin nudges you and says “Oh my god! He totally just looked right at you!”
You punch her arm and laugh, but a tingly feeling flows throughout your body.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Corroded Coffin’s set, you and Robin head back to your table to find Steve deep in conversation with a girl that Robin apparently knows.
“Well, I’ve got to run to the bathroom, I’ll be right back you guys.” You head to the bathroom in the back corner of the venue.
You fix your hair in the mirror before walking back outside. As you make your way back to the table, an arm reaches out in front of you to stop you.
“Hey, didn’t we go to high school together?” It’s Eddie. He drops his arm and steps in front of you.
“Wow, you scared me. Uh yeah, we did.” Your voice is a little shaky. You can’t believe Eddie is talking to you. You knew it was probably no big deal. It’s not like he was actually famous or anything. His band played at a few dive bars around town and that was really it.
“I’m glad you came out to the show. Did you have fun? I gotta say, I didn’t think this would be your scene. From what I remember, in high school you were in a different crowd.” He’s smiling down at you.
You look past him to see Robin staring at you with her eyebrows raised. Steve is also staring at you, the girl he was previously talking to had left. You raise your eyebrows back before turning to look up at Eddie. “Yeah, I remembered you had the band in high school and saw you guys were playing tonight. I thought we’d come check you out.”
Eddie looks over his shoulder and you see Robin and Steve quickly glance away. “I see you’re still friends with Steve Harrington.” He says his name with an annoyance in his voice. Eddie and Steve didn’t exactly get along in school and it seems like Eddie hasn’t forgotten that.
You chuckle nervously, “Yep. We’re still friends. So, the show was good. You were really great up there.”
“Thanks. That means a lot. I’m glad you had fun. I’ll let you get back to your friends. Maybe I’ll see you around some other time? We’re playing here again next weekend.”
“Maybe we’ll come watch you guys again.” As you walk back towards Steve and Robin, you try not to overthink too much about your conversation with Eddie.
“Didn’t know you were friends with The Freak.” Steve is saying as you all start gathering your things.
“Oh shut up, Steve. We’re not in high school anymore. Can you at least try to act like an adult?” Robin elbows Steve in his side earning a little “ow” from him.
As you all walk to Steve’s car, you’re telling them about Eddie’s band playing here again next weekend. It takes some convincing from you and Robin, but Steve offers to drive again next weekend.
“Do you like him or something?” Steve is asking you as he drops you and Robin off at your apartment.
You roll your eyes at Steve and say, “No, I just think it would be fun. And maybe next time you’ll have a little more luck getting some numbers.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Steve says before he drives off leaving you and Robin giggling at the door.
You and Robin spend the night overanalyzing the conversation you had with Eddie. Or rather, Robin spends the night listening to you ramble on and theorize your outfit for next weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the time the next weekend rolls around, you’ve spent countless hours going over how you’re going to talk to Eddie again. You’re still too nervous to approach him first, but you know you can’t leave the show without speaking to him.
You hear Steve honk his horn outside and you make your way out front with Robin trailing behind you. Robin had been helping you get ready and listening to you freak out over what you should say to Eddie tonight.
“You girls ready to go? I hope this time is better than the last time.” Steve puts the car in drive and heads toward the bar.
Robin snorts and says, “Steve, you can’t base the fun you have on how many girls’ numbers you get. There’s more to life than girls.”
“Yeah, you’re one to talk.”
When you arrive at the bar, Steve grabs your drinks again and you and Robin head to the same table as last time. Robin nudges you, “Look who’s over there.” She’s smiling and you follow her gaze to the side of the stage where Eddie stands holding a guitar case and surveying the bar.
When he spots where you and Robin are sitting he walks up to you. “Hi guys. Excited for the show?”
You’re too nervous to speak, luckily Robin chimes in with, “Oh yeah. You guys were great last time.”
Eddie turns to look at you. You notice how handsome he is when his smile stretches all the way to his eyes. “Yeah, I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun.”
Just then, Steve returns and sets the beers down on the table. “Hey man, how’s it going?”
Eddie just gives him a little nod and says, “I gotta get up there, but I’ll catch you guys after the show.” When he says it, he’s just looking at you. You feel a tingling go through your body. You feel electric and you can almost feel the blush creeping up your face.
Steve stares after Eddie before turning back around to say, “Jeeze. What’s his problem?”
Throughout the show, you catch Eddie’s eyes a few times. Of course, Robin immediately notices and nudges you each time. When it’s Steve’s turn to grab the drinks, Robin is asking you if you’re actually going to make a move on Eddie tonight.
“I have no idea. I mean, I want to, definitely. It’s just, I don’t know, we’re total opposites.” You gulp down the last of your beer. Robin assures you that Eddie would be interested just as Steve reappears with the drinks. You notice he’s swaying a little bit as he sets them down and you’re worried he won’t be able to drive home.
Corroded Coffin finishes their set and starts packing up, but Eddie breaks away and heads straight to your table. You stand up to greet him and that’s when you realize just how drunk you actually are. How many beers had you had? At least four, maybe even five? “Hi Eddie.”
“Hey. Like the show?” He’s still only looking at you and you’re not sure if it’s because he has something against Steve and doesn’t know Robin all that well or because he wants to look only at you.
“Yeah it was really great!” You’re excited and slurring your words.
All four of you talk for a few minutes longer before Eddie excuses himself to help the band finish packing up their equipment.
Eddie is only gone for a few minutes when he returns just as you’re all gathering your things and getting ready to leave. Steve stumbles as he stands and he grabs the table for support. Eddie sees this and says “Hey man, you all right? If you’re not good to drive I can drop you all off.” Eddie offers.
Steves starts to protest saying that you’re all going to different places, but Eddie cuts in with, “Really, it’s no problem. I’ve got the van, you guys can just pile in the back.”
Robin and Steve turn to face you and your eyes are wide. Eddie Munson driving you home after his show? Of course, he’s also driving Robin and Steve home. And it’s because you’re all too drunk to safely get home. It’s nothing exciting. “Yeah, yeah. That would be really great, thank you, Eddie.”
Eddie leads the three of you out to his van. He offers you the front seat which you happily accept and the other two climb in the back.
You can hear Steve and Robin giggling in the backseat. You’re hoping Robin isn’t drunk enough to spill your secret longing for Eddie. You know this is just a little crush and you’ll get over it.
You give Eddie directions to Steve’s then to Robin’s house. Eddie pulls up in front of Robin’s and you get out to walk her to her door. “This is your chance, Y/N. You better go for it.” You whisper at her to shut up as she slips inside.
Not much is said on the way to your apartment, but you’re filled with an electric buzz throughout your body. You’re not sure if it’s the alcohol or the fact that you’re sitting next to Eddie.
“Thanks so much for the ride. I really appreciate it.” You say as you start gathering your things. Eddie responds that he’s glad to give you a ride. You’re not looking at him, but it sounds like he’s smirking and you blush at where your mind goes.
You try to get out of the van, but you can’t seem to grasp hold of the door handle without dropping all your things. You laugh as you realize the alcohol is catching up to you.
“Okay, hang on, sweetheart.” Eddie notices you struggling, gets out of the van, and walks around to the passenger side. He opens the door for you to help you out. “Let me walk you in, I’ll carry your things.”
You hand over your things in silence as you process that Eddie just called you sweetheart. You watch as Eddie fiddles with your keys before finding the one to unlock the door. “Ladies first.” He has one hand on your elbow and the other is pushing the door closed behind you.
As he sets your stuff down on the entry table you catch yourself saying, “Do you want to stay? I mean, just have a cup of coffee or something? Unless you’re tired. I know it’s late.”
Eddie says that he would love to, so you head to the kitchen and start preparing a pot of coffee. When you turn back around, you’re hit with an overwhelming sensation in your stomach. You’re going to vomit now. There’s no way you can make it to the bathroom so you  lean over the sink and heave.
The next thing you know, Eddie is there behind you. He’s taking out the hair tie that had been holding his long hair in a loose bun and pulls your hair away from your face to tie it back. You’ve never been more embarrassed in your life. You’re vomiting in your kitchen sink in front of Eddie Munson who is currently rubbing small circles between your shoulder blades. Through your noises you can hear him saying, “It’s alright. I’ve got you.” Despite your current situation, a rush of heat shoots down to your core.
Eddie helps you to your bed, leaving to grab a glass of water. When he returns, you’ve slipped under the blankets and are almost asleep. “There’s a glass of water on your nightstand. Call me in the morning and I’ll take you to get the car.” He says before turning to leave.
“Wait. You can stay here, it’s late.” You call out to him from your half asleep state.
Eddie stands in the doorway, debating on what to do. Part of him wants to leave to not make things awkward for the both of you in the morning. He’s not sure if you mean he can sleep on your couch or your bed.
As if reading his mind, you tap on the bed and roll over sleepily. He doesn’t need any more insistence and takes his jacket off before tossing it on the ground and crawling into bed next to you. He leans up to look at you and realizing you’ve already fallen asleep, he lays back down. As he does, he catches  a glimpse of lacy black underneath your skirt that’s crept up your thighs.
Eddie is completely still on his back next to you. He’s never told you this, but he had a huge crush on you in high school. He was more than surprised when he’d noticed you while he was on stage last weekend. During the entire set, he had been thinking of ways to talk to you before you left. He was a little disappointed when he realized you were friends with Steve and he’d been hoping Steve wasn’t going to talk you out of coming to the next show.
When he’d seen you again tonight, he couldn’t wait to talk to you. He’d been hanging out at the side of the stage, waiting for you to walk in. He spent the entire show trying not to stare at you the whole time. He felt like he couldn’t keep his eyes off of you. He loved the way your short skirt flowed around your thighs.
Eddie felt you shift, as he looked over he saw that you had kicked off your half of the blanket. With your skirt almost completely up your thighs, he had a perfect view of the lacy black underwear you were wearing. He felt the bulge in his pants grow.
He knew it wasn’t right to stare, but he couldn’t help it. As quietly as he could, he undid his belt buckle and unzipped his jeans. Slowly, he pulled his pants down just enough to free his hardened cock.
As Eddie began stroking himself, he imagined what your hand would feel like wrapped around him. He thought about you staring into his eyes as your hand went up and down. He wondered what you would taste like.
Eddie continued to pump his hand up and down while alternating between staring at your ass and imaging all the things he could do to you. He lifted his shirt just as he spilled onto his stomach. Carefully, he got out of bed and made his way to your bathroom to clean up.
When he returned, he draped the blanket back over you and laid down next to you. He wasn’t sure how he was going to fall asleep with the knowledge that he’d just finished himself off a few inches away from you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, you’re awoken to the sound of a voice coming from your kitchen. It takes you a second to remember that Eddie Munson spent the night.
“Oh, you know what, here she comes now.” Eddie hands you the phone as you walk sleepily into the kitchen. You see he’s already made a pot of coffee and is now cooking breakfast.
You know it’s Robin before you put the phone to your ear, you can already hear her voice. “Y/N, was that who I think it is that answered your phone? Was he there all night? What happened!”
“Yes and yes. I’ll call you later okay?” You hung up before Robin could say anything else. “Hey, thanks for the coffee. You really didn’t have to make breakfast though.”
“After what you did last night, I figured you’d need some energy this morning. Don’t worry about it.”
You’re shaking and it’s not from the alcohol last night. You’re still trying to piece together what happened. After what I did? What did I do? And then it all comes rushing back to you. You vomited in your kitchen sink right in front of Eddie Munson. And then you invited him to bed. And he accepted the offer.
Eddie sets a plate down in front of you and leans against the wall sipping his coffee. “I figure we can pick Steve up, take him to get his car. And then…” He pauses, unsure if he should say what he’s thinking. You raise your eyebrows and he continues, “And then I was thinking later tonight, you might want to grab dinner? With me, of course.”
You almost choke. Is Eddie asking you out on a date or are you reading way too much into things? “Yeah, yeah sounds good.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eddie drops you back off at your apartment after taking Steve to pick up his car. As soon as you’re through the door, you’re calling Robin. “Robin, oh my god.” You gave her a recap of exactly what happened the previous night - vomiting included.
“You threw up in your kitchen sink and he still slept in the same bed as you. Wow.” Robin is laughing hysterically. “Steve, did you hear that? She threw up!”
“STEVE is there? Oh god, Robin I don’t want more people knowing about this. It’s embarrassing enough that I have to know.” You groan and slide down the kitchen wall to the tile.
Steve has grabbed the phone from Robin. “Are you dating Eddie now? Because if that freak can get a date easier than I can, I swear…”
“Shut up. No, we’re not dating. Nothing even happened. Sure, we slept in the same bed, but that’s it. Okay?” Even as you’re saying it, you still can’t believe it happened. You tell Steve and Robin bye before you hang up and start getting ready for your date with Eddie.
As you’re in the shower, you think of all the things that could have happened had you not passed out. Your hand slips down to your folds as you slide your fingers around in small circles. You’re imagining it’s Eddie’s hands touching you. As you climax, you’re imagining Eddie’s fingers pumping in and out of you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You’re just finishing getting dressed as you hear a knock on your door. “Come in! I’ll just be a minute!” After trying on almost everything you own and calling Robin countless times for advice, you’d settled on a short flowy black dress.
When you emerge from your room, Eddie is sitting on the couch. As he looks up at you his eyes go wide and all of a sudden you feel self conscious. You look down at yourself and smooth your hands down your dress. “You look…incredible.” Eddie finally manages to choke out.
You smile at him and he almost melts. He rakes his eyes over you and without meaning to actually do it, he licks his lips. “You ready to go?” He stands up and grabs your hand, leading out to his van.
You feel an electric buzz that flows throughout your body, centered on where your hands meet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You can hardly remember dinner as Eddie opens the passenger door to his van, helping you inside. You spent the entire time trying to think of ways to invite Eddie back to your apartment after dinner. You also spent quite a bit of time staring at his hands and imagining what they could do to you. So by the time you’re settled inside the van, your core is already pulsing with need.
When Eddie arrives at your apartment, you’re surprised when he gets out of the van to follow you inside. “I thought we could hang for a little longer? I’ve been really enjoying talking to you.” He says shyly as you set your things down.
The two of you sit on the couch and continue the conversation you’d been having about Steve. “He’s really not so bad once you get to know him, I promise.” You’d been trying to convince Eddie that Steve was actually a great friend.
“Well, I’ll believe that when I see it.” Eddie shrugs his shoulders.
Neither of you have mentioned the previous night. You know it’s probably not a big deal, nothing happened and Eddie was just taking care of you after you’d drank too much.
“Want a beer?” Eddie nods his head ‘yes’ so you head to the kitchen to grab two beers from the fridge.
When you return to the living room and hand Eddie the beer, your hands brush and neither of you pull away. When you sit down next to him, Eddie leans forward to set his beer on the coffee table. He turns to look at you, “You know, you really do look incredible. Thanks for going out with me tonight.”
You can feel a blush creeping up your cheeks as you set your beer down next to his. “T-thank you. You look pretty handsome too.” And he does. He’s wearing dark jeans, black shirt, and a dark leather jacket. You can’t help but think what he looks like under his clothes. As you look him up and down, your eyes stop on his lap. You can see a bulge, a very big bulge, under his jeans.
Eddie sees you notice and lets out a little chuckle. Before you can talk yourself out of it, you reach towards him and run your hand from his temple to his cheek.
Eddie stills, shocked. After a second, he grabs your waist and pulls you on top of him. Foreheads touching, you stare into each other’s eyes for just a split second before your lips meet.
Eddie’s hands are roaming up your back now, your hands tangled in his hair. “Fuck. I’ve been wanting to do this since I saw you at the bar.” He says into your mouth.
“Mm. Me too.” You breathe just as he rolls his hips hitting your sensitive bud and you let out a moan.
This is better than he imagined in your bed last night while he pumped himself. “I touched myself last night thinking about this. I was thinking about all the things I want to do to you.” He licks a stripe up the side of your face.
His words and the friction make you moan into his ear. You tell him how you fingered yourself in the shower, imagining his fingers inside you.
Eddie swears he could cum just from hearing you talk. He scoots you back so he can pull his jeans down before grabbing your hips and rolling them across his cock. Eddie lifts up your dress and pulls your panties to the side. “Is this what you want?” He asks as his finger brushes your clit.
“Mhm. Yes, please, Eddie.” Your hands are pulling his hair and you place kisses down his face before sucking a mark on his neck.
Eddie lifts you up so he can swipe himself through your folds before lining himself up with your entrance and sliding you down. You gasp as you take the full length of him before tugging his hair even harder.
He gives you a few seconds to adjust to his size before bucking up into you. You can’t hold in the moans that escape from your mouth and your entire body is trembling. You’ve never felt so full. You weren’t a virgin, but it felt like Eddie was stretching your walls as far as they could go.
“Yeah? Is this what you thought about in the shower?” You can’t speak so you just nod your head ‘yes’. “Use your words, baby. I want to hear you.”
“Y-yes, this is b-better than what I imagined.” Eddie moved his hands from your hips to pull you to his chest. He cradled your head with one hand with his other resting on your lower back.
Kissing your head he murmured praises into your ear. “You’re doing so good.”
“Eddie.”
Still inside you, he lifts you up and carries you to your bedroom. Placing you down on the edge of the bed and kneeling between your legs, he continues to pump in and out of you. Pulling your dress up he groped at you while using one hand to pull your legs to his neck. “Oh, you’re so wet for me, baby. Gonna cum soon?”
You can’t form words, you moan in response. But remembering what Eddie said earlier you manage, “Gonna cum.”
“Cum on me, baby.” he moves the hand from your tits to circle your clit. In seconds, you’re gushing around him. “That’s it, show me what you’ve been thinking about.”
Incoherent words and moans fall from your mouth as Eddie fucks you through your high. His thrusts become erratic and he’s moved to holding both your legs up against his chest. He’s gripping your calves so tightly, you know you’ll have bruises.
“Where do you want me, sweetheart?”
Shakily, you whisper, “Inside me. Please.”
“All mine.” Eddie pulls you towards him as he thrusts and releases himself deeply inside of you. “Fuck.” He whispers as he lets your legs down and helps you into the bed. His jeans still around his ankles, he takes them off before climbing in beside you.
You turn to face Eddie, your eyes glazed over, “I guess our date went well.” He laughs and pulls you in tighter.
Eddie is tracing shapes along your back, “We’re playing at the bar in a few days. What do you say if you come as my girlfriend this time?”
“I thought you’d never ask.” You nuzzle your head into his chest.
Just as the two of you are drifting to sleep in each other’s arms, there’s a knock at the door. You both sit up and listen to the person knock again, louder. “Hello? You guys in there?”
You look at Eddie with wide eyes, “It’s Steve.”
“Again.”
you suck in a breath through your teeth, and stifle your own sound of incredulousness— another one? gripping the pillow in both hands and digging your knees in, straddling the fluff, you grind your bare core into it. you’d already soaked through, and your body was quivering, thighs wanting to push the pillow from between them and snap closed. you’d already cum so many times. “Are you sure?” you whisper, breathless, and roll your hips slow to ease back into the stimulation. leaning back, you put your naked figure on display for him to watch as you squirm. your eyelids are heavy, but your eyes flicker to him. “You don’t want me to do anything for you?”
Obanai was perched on a chair in the darkened corner, shadows dancing over his partially concealed features, but his eyes twinkle as he watches you. you couldn’t even be sure he was enjoying the show you were working hard to put on— he hadn’t shifted once, and his draping sleeves didn’t shift as if he were palming some secret erection. he was just staring. silently. and when you’d cum, you’d moan his name, roll your eyes and arch your back, and his only response would be one word. “Again.” he hadn’t even bothered to touch you, keeping his distance since he’d first crept inside.
“I’ll do anything for you,” you purr, batting your lashes, hoping that you could escape this looping orgasm hell by getting him off, instead. “Use my hands? They’re very soft.” you bite your lip, humming soft when your throbbing clit rubs against the damp fabric, “I could suck your cock. Make you cum with a single flick of my tong—“
“No.”
your lips purse, but you didn’t want to look too disappointed. Obanai hadn’t been one to visit you, not like the others did, and you started to feel like maybe he didn’t like you. that’s why you’d been overwhelmed with excitement to see his form darken the doorway of your bedroom, but an hour later and all he’s done was stare, seemingly unblinking, from the shadows as you fucked a pillow.
“Nothing?” you shift, trying to rub yourself slower, limit the amount of friction. “You can have me however you want, you know.” truth be told, you wanted to hold back from another climax, unsure if your body could handle another. you couldn’t force yourself through another one, but he was glaring at you.
“You’re stalling.” he mutters. “I said I want you to cum again.”
you grip the pillow tighter, rocking your hips a little faster, but still careening to avoid the rasping of your sensitive clit into the plush. “I… I’ve cum three times already.” you counter. you’d given up trying to hide how careful you were being. “I don’t know if I can—“
he stood up.
he stood up and your breath caught in your throat. your hips stutter, because he’s across the room in the blink of an eye, standing before you, and you’re suddenly speechless. regardless of his stature, Obanai was intimidating. his gaze was impossible to read, and he was so damn quiet. you hadn’t had a chance to spend any kind of time to get to know what he liked or what he disliked, but you could tell by the chilled glare he was giving you now that he didn’t like being talked back to.
“I— I’m sorry…” you whisper. you had no idea what he was capable of. you were suddenly nervous to be alone in this dark, quiet room with him.
would he hurt you?
your heart was pounding against your rib cage so violently it hurt, and you were certain he heard it, too. without a word, his arm outstretches, stuffing his hand between the pillow and your sex. you yelp in surprise when he cups it. his touch isn’t as rough as some of the others, and his slender fingers seek your clit, gliding over it like twin serpents until your eyes are rolling back and you’re writhing in his palm. “O—Obanai—“
“If you won’t give me another willingly,” he murmurs, his other hand clamping down on your chin and angling your face up towards him. your lids flutter, lips slack, “I’ll take it from you.” his eyes are zeroed in on you as his first two fingers, now slick, hook inside, and his thumb presses hard on your button. you moan, thighs trembling and clamping against his forearm, “You’re going to let me rip it out of you. And however many I want after that. If I want to see you cum again and again, so you’re too exhausted to do a thing but lay there and take it by the time the sun comes up, you’ll just have to endure it. I can have you how I want, isn’t that what you said?”
you nod, obedient, with one hand grasping his wrist. you didn’t try to pry it from your cunt, not that you thought that you could if you wanted to, but the grip was keeping you grounded. “Yes…” you groan, all your nerves screaming as your stomach knots up, “fuck, yes…”
those lithe digits spread inside you, stretching against your fervent clenching, and you dig your nails into his wrist. “That’s how I want you.” his voice is husky and heavy with lust, and for the first time tonight you can hear it. his other thumb runs over your bottom lip, and you’re all too quick to take it into your mouth, grazing it with your teeth, forcing your eyes back open to look up at him, though you were wincing as you teeter on the edge of the most powerful climax thus far. he doesn’t pull it from you, or push it deeper into your mouth, instead allowing you to use it as you pleased, as he did with your core. “So sensitive you can’t even keep your eyes open, shaking and needy and positively pathetic. Cumming as many times as I decide.” you nod, again, vision blurry as he pumps his fingers knuckle deep. it felt like he was tickling the knots that were bunching up inside you, teasing them to force an unraveling.
“T—take it, then,” you beg, words slurred as you nibble on his thumb, “It’s yours… please, please!”
it certainly wasn’t your proudest moment, crying out for him as you tremble and come utterly undone, eyes rolled back and tongue lazing out to taste his digit. your walls clench his fingers, spasming so erratically that you weren’t even sure if he’d be able to withdraw them until the waves of convulsions stopped. you aren’t even able to stay sitting upright, and collapse forward, slumping with your face buried in his midsection. your other hand grips his clothes, babbling your slurred gratitude.
Obanai doesn’t move back to avoid your clinging, nor does he slow down— driving his fingers home at the same pace and forcing you to ride out the euphoria until you’re wrecked with aftershocks and panting.
you’ve no doubt drooled over his uniform when he finally pries his thumb from between your teeth and pushes you back. you sit back on your bum, the absence of his fingers leaving your weeping core feeling sickeningly empty. “Open your mouth.” you do so without so much as opening your eyes, and you taste yourself when he shoves his fingers inside. “Are you too sensitive to give me another?”
you nod, sucking each digit clean. thank goodness, you thought. he’s going to give you a break. maybe you impressed him.
“Good. Lie on your back and spread your legs,” he orders and your stomach does a flip realizing that he’s nowhere near done with you, “I want to fuck another one out of your tender cunt.”
You lower your phone and look back to the dark waters crashing against the shore. Logan’s time in Formula 1 has meant you’ve been traveling around the world, getting to experience so much more than you’d ever imagined you would in your lifetime, but nothing compares to the familiarity and comfort of Florida— of home.
And your friends.
“So,” Sophia bumps her shoulder against yours, eyes alight with mischief when you turn to meet her expectant gaze. “Come on,” she teases, “tell me about him.”
You’ve been friends with her for a few years now, ever since moving back to the United States. She was born and partially raised in Belgium, so after spending so long in Europe, she’s the only one who understood the minor culture shock of moving back. You both clicked, and you’ve been stuck together ever since. You’ve learned, however, that if there’s one constant about her, it’s without a doubt her need to gossip about anything and everything— but specifically boys.
You huff out a laugh, “There’s no ‘he’ to tell you about.”
She hums into her glass of wine, eyeing you skeptically.
“There isn’t!” You laugh, shoving her lightly.
She gasps and feigns falling back onto the blanket spread out beneath you. She’s dramatic, too, and that’s another reason you matched so well. She feels like the sister you never had, which makes moments like this feel even more special.
“This back and forth with a certain OP-eighty-one suggests otherwise,” she sing-songs back at you as she sits up, making kissing faces and cackling when you shove at her again.
“I’m not sure how you even know about that,” you grumble. “You don’t even use Instagram.”
“Maybe not, babes,” she casts her gaze out across the ocean, “but I have my sources. So come on, between us girls and us girls only, tell me what’s going on.”
You heave a sigh, gulp down the last mouthful of wine in your glass, and then pour yourself another while she waits. You’re not getting out of this, and part of you does really want to talk about things. On top of being your brother and therefore way more protective than he needs to be, Logan is also Oscar’s best friend and you’re not sure what “bro code” is exactly, but you imagine not dating your friend’s sister is part of it— so he’s out of the question. You’d go to Dalton if you were sure he wouldn’t tell Logan, but they’re loyal to each other and have some sort of unspoken pact when it comes to your love life. You joked once that instead of your dad, it’d be them waiting at the door with a shotgun if you ever brought a guy home, but you’re not sure it was a joke at all with how they act sometimes.
“It started in Bahrain,” you begin, rolling your eyes when she wiggles excitedly and turns her undivided attention to you. “I’ve known him for a while because he and Logan have driven together since they were young, so I messaged him after the race to say that it sucked he had to retire so early into it.”
“And?”
You shoot her a look. “And, we kept talking. One thing led to another and we met up for drinks…” You fiddle with the rim of your glass, glancing back out to the water. You can’t tell if the heat on your face is because you’re embarrassed, or from spending so much of your day under the Floridian sun. “That’s it.”
“That’s it?” She asks incredulously.
“Well—” you purse your lips. “We kissed. Once. When he dropped me off at the hotel. But it was probably just the alcohol or something. I don’t think he wanted it to mean anything. I bet he just wanted to have fun but couldn’t because he had to leave early in the morning.”
She sends you a look. “He was sober enough to drive you back… but you think it was alcohol influencing his decisions? And he kissed you, even knowing he wouldn’t be able to ‘have fun?’ Right. Didn’t mean anything at all.”
You shake your head and huff. “He was upset because he’d had such high hopes for his first Grand Prix and it ended poorly, and I was there to comfort him, so maybe that’s why. He got caught up in the moment, or something.”
“Y/N, I love you. I do. You’re my best friend and you’re like a little sister to me,” she cups your face in her hands and turns you to look at her. “But you can be so dense sometimes, do you know that?”
“Then why hasn’t he brought it up?” You ask, your voice garbled slightly from the way her hands squish your cheeks together. “We saw each other again in Melbourne, to celebrate him getting his first points, and he didn’t say anything then. Or Miami, or England, or Japan.”
She gives you another look and lets your face go. “It’s a two-way street, babe. Why haven’t you brought it up?”
And… that’s a good point. You technically could’ve brought it up, too. You’d just been so afraid of how he would’ve reacted that you’d chosen to keep quiet, preferring uncertainty over rejection. It’s the same reason why you so rarely pursue the things you want. A fear of rejection stands in your way, and you realize suddenly that you could’ve ruined things with someone you genuinely like just because you were afraid.
“You know, like, Schrodinger’s cat," you start meekly. "If you don’t open the box, the cat is dead and alive, because you don’t know. So I never brought it up. Because not knowing is better than him telling me it was nothing.”
She reaches out and wraps her arm around your shoulders, pulling you into her side. When she speaks again, her voice is calmer, less accusatory, a murmur against the ambiance of the hissing tide— “But what if he tells you it’s something?”
You groan. “He probably thinks I’m not interested.”
“Y/N—”
“Oh God!” You pull away and bury your face into your hands. “I ruined it all!”
She pries your hands away and looks you in the eye. There’s a sparkle in her gaze, it’s the look she gets when she has a plan.
“You haven’t ruined it. We just have some work to do.”
my best friends brother (is the one for me) - part four
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ahhh finally i finished part four. this was so hard for no reason
read part three here!
word count: 1014 words
warnings: slight angst?
⋆。˚ ⋆。˚ ⋆。˚ ୭ৎ ⋆。˚ ⋆。˚ ⋆。˚
i looked up from my phone when i heard knocking on my front door. i paused my movie and got up, knowing exactly who was at the door. i walked down my stairs and opened the door, seeing matt already biting his nails.
“why weren’t you answering your phone?” he said, relieved to see me in one piece.
“i didn’t feel like it.” i said, turning around and walking back into my house, knowing he was going to invite himself in no matter what.
“y/n please. what is going on? you’ve been off all day.” he pleaded with me, following me into my kitchen.
“i’ve been off? what about you and how you’ve been acting since nick walked into your room this morning?” i retort, starting to get angry with him. he’s done nothing but ignore me all day, only taking time to say something to me when it’s convenient for him. on his terms.
“y/n..” matt pleaded.
“no i don’t wanna hear it,” i snapped, “you do this every time something between us ever happens and i’m sick of it.”
“i’m sorry, okay?” he yelled, throwing his hands up and into his hair.
“for what? for ignoring me all day or acting like you like me?” i yelled back, immediately turning around so he couldn’t see the tears forming in my eyes.
he stayed quiet, and when i turned to look at him, he was on his way out the door.
once the door closed behind him, i sighed, unable to stop the tears falling. i shouldn’t have let myself believe that he could ever want me.
i collected myself and went back to my room, hoping that watching my movie would take my mind off what had just happened. i grabbed my phone, going into matt’s contact. i stared at it, debating on texting or calling him. after a while, i threw my phone across my bed, paying attention to the movie playing. i ended up falling asleep half way through it.
i woke up to my phone ringing. i ignored it, thinking it was matt calling me. it rang again and i picked it up, seeing it was nick calling me.
“hello?” i answered, still half asleep.
“do you have any idea why matt is all pissy?” nick asked immediately.
“i don’t know, he came over ‘cause i wasn’t getting his calls since my phone died on my way home,” i lied, hoping he wouldn’t see through it, “he seemed pissy when he got here though.”
nick groaned before replying, “we were supposed to film a wednesday video but he hasn’t come out of his room and is ignoring me and chris.”
i felt bad, knowing this was partially my fault. “i don’t know, i’m sorry.” i said, grabbing my remote and turning off my tv.
“no it’s fine, i was just wondering if you knew anything.” nick said before saying goodbye and hanging up.
i stared at my ceiling, wondering what was wrong with him. i couldn’t stop my mind from telling me that maybe he does have some sort of feelings for me.
i grabbed my phone and started drafting a text to matt.
‘can we talk? i’m sorry’ i stared at the text, debating on sending it or not. my thumb hovered over send before deleting the message. i threw my phone down and decided to go grab some food.
i open my fridge, finding some grapes i had just bought and put some in a bowl. i walked over to the couch and sat down, thinking about the conversation between me and matt. i regretted what i said, overthinking it way too much.
what if what i said made him think i had feelings for him? i thought about what nick said about matt. what if he felt the same?
i saw a car, similar to matt’s, outside my house. it couldn’t be his, especially not with the way we left things.
i heard a knock on my door. i got up, my heart racing as i go answer the door.
“look i don’t want to leave things how we did, and again you aren’t answering you’re phone. god why can’t you just answer your damn phone,” matt pushes through me, clearly out of breath.
“my phone is in my room..” i trailed off, letting him continue his rant. i followed him into my room, he grabbed my phone and handed it to me.
“i’ve texted you about fifteen times, called you three times. you worry me,” he looked at me softly, “please. just keep your phone with you.”
“i’m sorry.” i mumbled, grabbing my phone and looking down at all the notifications from matt. i couldn’t understand why he seemed to care so much, considering just that morning he was ignoring me.
“it’s okay, just- i don’t know” he shook his head, turning to leave.
“wait, why don’t you stay?” i asked him, wanting to hang out with him.
“yeah?” he chuckled, clearly seeing how much i wanted to be in his company.
i walked to my kitchen, grabbing drinks for us out of the fridge. i heard him behind me and before he could get too close, i turned around reaching one of the waters i grabbed towards him. as much as i wanted a repeat of last night, i couldn’t let it happen. if it was going to end even slightly close to that, i’d rather walk into oncoming traffic.
we made our way to my living room, getting comfy on my couch. i felt matt try to get closer, i inched away slightly, not wanting to let myself get close to him again. he moved back to his original seat, not wanting to push anything.
“are we gonna watch anything?” matt asked, looking over at me.
“i mean what else do we ever do,” i grabbed the remote, turning the tv in and going into netflix.
i put on some comedy show, one of matt’s favorites. i grabbed my phone and text nick, letting him know matt was at my house.
All the world's a stage
A/N: Have I been plagued by musical!reader and Spencer ever since I set my eyes upon him and Lila? Yes, have I ever had an outlet before? No, suffer the brainrot with me.
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Musical!Reader.
Summary: A case takes them to a musical theatre performance and Spencer finds himself utterly besotted for the pretty woman on stage.
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: talk of disfigurement but no details, little fluff fic for my soul
Tumblr media
Musical theatre is an immense part of her life, she grew up surrounded by it through her entire family, and did dance lessons until she realised that doing tap dance in a leotard probably isn’t going to get her very many places in the future.
So, the minute she left home to go to college, she got a theatrical degree and got herself out in the world. Made a name for herself.
Which is how she found herself playing Jenna in Waitress, absolutely her favourite role so far.
Unfortunately, a week into the show’s run, there had been an incident. No one was quite able to tell her what was going on, but her castmates kept getting replaced with understudies. Until, finally, someone better than the local police arrived.
They came in quietly, which is very good etiquette, and spoke quietly with the director while they practised. While the show was momentarily put on hold for the next few days, rehearsals wouldn’t stop, meaning she was now singing Used To Be Mine with all the emotion she can hold with Federal Agents in the crowd.
Thankfully she’s partially blinded by the lights as she sings, or else she would’ve seen him.
Spencer sat down to wait for the song to finish, and immediately found himself frozen. Whoever this is, she has to be the most talented person he’s ever heard in his life, and while he doesn’t often listen to musical theatre, he’d make an excuse for her.
Ignoring everything around him to just watch this woman give the performance of a lifetime. It’s only the rehearsal but she was treating it like a packed house.
The minute it was over and the stage lights went down, house lights flickering on so that the cast could be questioned, he jumped up and started clapping. Eyes bright as he didn’t realise that no one else had been watching her like he had.
It was impossible for her not to notice him, a bright smile on her face as he realised he was drawing attention to herself.
Laughing softly, she curtsied just for him, loving that she could see the little blur of his face turning a soft red. That giddy feeling settled high in her chest as everyone was sent off to their changing rooms to be questioned in order.
By the time it got round to her turn, a knock on her door swiftly turned into its opening and being met with the stoic man she saw talking to her director. Standing, she held a hand out for him to shake, giving her name as she greeted him.
“SSA Aaron Hotchner, we’re from the BAU.”
“Hi, no one has really told us what’s going on, but it’s not hard to realise that people just.. aren’t here.”
Smiling as he offered for her to sit down, the rest of his agents filtering into the room and starting to look around. She knew she probably wouldn’t be a suspect, but that doesn’t stop her from being nervous at having FBI agents in her dressing room.
Agent Hotchner was talking to her, gently explaining that her castmates had been injured and disfigured, which is why they had been called in. It was very unusual to have so many attacks with all the victims coming from the same theatre, which she could definitely agree with.
Then, as if the Gods themselves handcrafted the interaction, the man that had applauded for her earlier walked in with flowers. She stood up to greet him, a little quicker than she did for Agent Hotchner, which all his coworkers immediately noticed. Hurriedly, he looked between the flowers in his hands and then back to her, his cheeks flushing and jaw dropping.
“Oh! This- This isn’t-- I mean, you were great! Amazing! The best portrayal I’ve ever seen, and you sang.. s-so well.” He saw the look he was getting from Hotch behind her and cleared his throat. “Bu- but these aren’t from me. They were left at the desk, had your name on.”
Granted, it did sting and she had to resist the urge to playfully pout about it, thinking it might actually cause the poor guy to short circuit.
“Thank you for getting it for me, and for applauding. That was very sweet of you..”
“S-Spencer-- Spencer Reid, Doctor. Uh, Doctor Spencer Reid.”
Walking over to take the bouquet from him, smiling down at it and loving that she could see his blush in the corner of her eyes as she brushed her fingers across his. It was a massive bouquet with so many flowers it felt overwhelming, so she moved it to her dressing table and turned back to him.
“Well, thank you, Doctor Spencer Reid.”
He could’ve sworn they were the only two people in the room, and he had to look away from her. Fidgeting with his buzzing fingers and focusing wholly on the bouquet instead of the way she made him want to melt.
Something was itching at the back of his head as he looked at them, it was.. too much.
Rocking back on his feet, aching for a way to ground himself, he pointed out the bouquet to the rest of the team. Pretending not to notice the rest of them grinning at him.
“Orchid, lily, anemone, gloriosa, delphinium, clematis and genista, it’s an awfully overcrowded bouquet. Typically, flowers were used to send messages, usually to people of significance in their lives. There’s a lot going on here, but if I’m right it should mean an ‘all-consuming love’, from a significant other that’s either really sweet or he doesn’t really know anything about flower language. You have.. a very sweet boyfriend ma’am.”
Okay, maybe he was trying to determine whether or not she does have a boyfriend, but he could hide that with a work reason. Knowing that if she didn’t, whoever sent these likely sent them for a reason. Since the show hasn’t actually run today, but they knew she’d be here, that didn’t bode well either.
“I don’t have a boyfriend. I’m incredibly single right now.”
While she was smiling at him, the rest of the team turned to face them a little more. You didn’t just send a bouquet to someone saying you had an ‘all-consuming love’ for them when you didn’t know them. There was no card either, which made it a little more suspicious.
Especially when there has been someone disfiguring her castmates - people who played directly alongside her - so that they can’t get onto stage. Onto stage with her.
Emily walked over, realising that all the attacks were likely connected to her, and they’d struck out massively at finding her immediately. Now they could put her somewhere safe (and have Spencer watch over her).
“Ma’am, were you close with the other castmates?”
“Oh, I mean, somewhat? We all worked together, but I’m newer on the cast so I don’t really hang out with anyone yet.” It’s dawning on her now, they can see it in the subtle shift to how she’s standing and the brush of her hair out her eyes. “Is this.. my fault? Did someone do all that because of me?”
She looked to Spencer, as if expecting him to answer, and he immediately felt the need to step forward. Gently holding onto her upper arms to stabilise her, knowing how easy it is to get lost in your own head and not wanting that for her.
Of course, his own aversion to touching people and germs is nothing in the face of helping to calm this woman.
“For whatever reason this person is doing this, it isn’t your fault. We’ll take you to the station and I’ll- I’ll stay with you until they’re caught. Okay?”
His eyes fly to Hotch, but the man just nods at him, so he picks up her bag and leads her out of the dressing room. Leaving the team behind, buzzing with the need to talk about their resident genius and his obvious crush on the performer.
All of them just watch the door swing shut until Morgan huffs out a laugh, going back to looking through the storage cupboard.
“He never comforts me like that.”
Tumblr media
Thankfully, they managed to catch the guy pretty quickly once Spencer took her to the station. Since he had no way to watch her, like he had apparently been doing since she joined the cast, he went a little crazy.
Genuinely trying to break into the station to both see her and attempt to disfigure Spencer since he was now the closest person to her.
The man, however, was an idiot, and got caught almost immediately because he was carrying the exact same bouquet he’d gotten for her before. Not even getting through the reception. Leaving her and Spencer completely unaware in the break room, slowly getting to know each other.
Now, she is convinced she could fall in love with this man so easily. It’s hard not to imagine a little life with him. He’s an absolute sweetheart.
When he offered to drive her back to her shitty little apartment, she jumped at the chance. Much to his team’s continued amusement. Spencer didn’t often get a lot of attention, but when he did it was adorable to see him trying so hard.
The drive back was filled with an immediate panic, his phone connected to the car - which he didn’t even know could happen - and it started playing his most recently looked at song.. which happened to be from the Waitress playlist. Cue him hurriedly mashing at the radio to get it to stop, only for her to lean in and press the right button to change it to the stations again. Assuring him that she finds it cute that he was listening to the show she was in.
For the most part, she talked about the other shows she had been in, and tried to coax out some stories from him just to get him comfortable. Unfortunately it was a very short drive.
Undeterred by that, she showed him where to park and invited him up, just to see her to her front door after such a harrowing experience. He picked up on the sarcasm, and nearly fell out of the car to be with her.
Although, when they finally got there and she unlocked the door, she turned and leant on the doorframe, smiling at him softly as he resisted the urge to look into her home.
“Thank you for bringing me home Spencer, that was very sweet of you.”
“Of course, it was the least I could do.”
She bit her lip, wondering if she really could do what she was thinking. It probably wasn’t a very good idea, but then she watched his eyes dart down to her lips and then past her into her hallway and immediately back to her eyes.
Humming softly, she reached up to smooth his tie that definitely needed to be fixed.
“And you.. don’t have a girlfriend?”
He shook his head so fast that she was worried about him hurting himself, but that thought was quickly overtaken when he parroted her words from earlier ‘incredibly single right now’. Nodding along, she tightened her grip on his tie and tugged him closer.
Kissing him very lightly before pulling away, barely a brush. He would’ve sworn that he imagined it if it weren’t for the giddy looking smile on her face, backing away into her apartment.
“You have my number right? Please call me, I’d love to talk to you some more.”
“Yeah! Y-Yeah, of course, I’ll text you.” More breathless as he forced himself to stop looking at her lips, giving a tight smile. “I can do that.”
“Of course you can sweetheart, goodnight.”
Smiling softly at his wispy ‘goodnight’ and shutting the door.
Leaving Spencer in the hallway alone to react to what had happened. Eventually, a giddy little laugh passed his lips and he needed to move. Pacing quickly and in a small line outside her door, wanting to calm back down before having to drive to the hotel.
The fact that she had kissed him and wanted to see him again was insane. Even though he’s in another state, she doesn’t seem to care, so neither will he.
But just as he was about to whip out his phone and text her, not caring about the social etiquette in waiting, he just wanted to text, her door swung open again. And it looked like she’d been similarly celebrating on the other side, if her messy hair and red face were anything to go by.
“Uhm.. hi, would you like to come in instead? I have a spare room.. and a bottle of wine?”
Holding out her hand for him to take, desperately hoping he says yes. And even though he’s probably going to miss his flight in the morning, how could he ever say no to a woman who looks at him like that.
Slipping his hand into hers and allowing himself to be dragged into the apartment, the two of them happily discussing things like dinner and movies they could watch. Is it wrong to say that he’s glad her castmates got disfigured if it meant they could meet?
Probably.. he’ll keep that to himself for now.
The next day was busy, she worked at least 16 hours, hopping between the soldiers, tending to their wounds. All of them were kind except for one. James was the young man whom she saved with Ghost the day prior. For whatever reason he seemed to dislike her. He made comments the entire day that had been slowly upsetting her. She tried not to think about it, and even asked to switch with another medic. She didn’t want him going around to others and telling them that she was an awful caretaker.
Things settled down around 5 pm, most of the soldiers were fast asleep. She sits dwon for the first time that day after 12 hours of work and runs her hand over her hair. Her legs were on fire, as was her neck and her back. Yet you could never tell just but looking at her. She looks down at her files and goes over them all. She updated the treatment they’d received that day. She picks up the last file, noticing that it was the partially filled-out page she had for Ghost. She was unable to find his file without knowing his name. She huffs as she remembers that she’d told him to come visit her today. She leaves the files on her desk and walks through the dining hall, she spots him sitting at a crowded table with 141 and many others. Deciding to take a break she grabs a plate and sits down next to Soap and across from Ghost.
“ankle biter! My god it's great to see you” Soap exclaims
“Good to see you too suds” she says pushing his shoulder, the table chuckles at her cute nickname for him.
“How you been today? Haven’t seen you take a break once” Price comments “Yeah its been busy, everyone seems to be settled now” she nods
“You’ve done such a great job here, Ghost briefed me last night. You’re a real asset kid, thanks for the hard work, hope you know its appreciated”
“Thank you, captain, that means a lot” she nods happily, as her cheeks turn pink
“Any of em giving you a hard time?” Gaz asks “sometimes we can be stubborn after gettin hurt”
“Just one, he’s fine though, doesn’t bother me”
“Who is it?” Ghost asks roughly, his intense gaze on her. Everyone turns to him in surprise, as he hasn’t said a word the whole time.
“Doesn’t matter, but I am curious why you haven’t stopped by today, I need to check your stitches” she says crossing her arms, eyebrows raised as she waits for his explanation. The boys exchange glances, smirks on their faces as they await his response.
“I’m good, don’t need anything else”
“You are on the brink of an infection, I need to clean it out again”
“It’s fine-”
“If I don’t see you in my office before lights out I’ll drag you in there myself” she warns, pointing her fork at him.
“Better not test her mate, I hear gingers are crazy” Soap murmurs
“Shut up Johnny” Ghost snaps
“You have three hours Ghost, don’t push me” she half-jokes “alright boys, I better get back to it, enjoy your dinner”
“You barely ate!” Price comments
“No time, I’ll grab something later” she smiles before leaving the table.
After she’s out of earshot the men erupt into laughter, slamming their hands on the table as they cackle. Ghost sits there with his arms crossed and his eyes narrowed at Soap.
“she got your ass LT”
“I’ve never seen a bird talk to you that way, my god I love that woman” Gaz exclaims as he wipes his tears
“She’s got you good doesn’t she eh Ghost?” Price asks slamming his hand on Ghost’s back.
“What makes you say that?” he questions angrily, causing them to laugh loudly once more.
“You’re killing me LT, I can’t stand it” Soap says wiping the tears in his eyes
“Let me put it to you this way mate, I’ve never seen anyone speak to you like that and walk away unharmed. You didn’t even say a word! Never would’ve thought a bird would hold you by the balls like that, I’m glad to see it though” Gaz says sincerely, Ghost shakes his head and stands up holding his empty plate. Soap and Gaz continue to giggle and he glares at them intensely, both shut up and cover their mouths to hide their laughs.
“Fucking idiots” he comments
Ghost walks over to the food and makes a plate of food, he grabs a napkin and silverware before walking to the medical bay. He could hear a loud voice yelling and frowns. He walks closer to the source and sets the food down.
“You fucking bitch! You don’t know what the fuck you’re doing, get me a new doctor!” a voice yells
“James, I know it hurts but I have to clean it out, you don’t want an infection trust me” he hears her voice explaining calmly. Ghost stays outside, knowing that she could handle herself. He knew she’d be upset if he came in and defended her. Though every part of him was itching to rip that kid’s throat out.
“No I don’t fucking trust you! You’d rather bounce on Ghost’s dick than actually do your job!” he yells
His eyes widen at that comment and he can’t control the rage that fills his body. Ghost storms into the room, his heavy footsteps causing them to turn and look at him.
“Ghost-” James starts, in the blink of an eye he’s standing above the wounded soldier gripping his collar and holding him up. His heart rate spikes on the machine and he ignores it.
“You fucking insignificant bastard, how dare you speak to a woman like that?!” he demands
“Ghost it’s fine-” she starts
“If I hear you speak to her like that ever again I will fucking kill you. Do you understand me? I don’t give a fuck if you’re in a hospital bed, only makes it easier” he threatens
“okay man!” James says with tears in his eyes
“This woman saved your life! You’d be rotting six feet under if it weren’t for her. Show her some goddamn respect!”
“I’m sorry!” he cries out
“You will be once I’m done with you” Ghost drops him on his back forcefully. She places a hand on his forearm, instantly catching his attention at the touch.
“Come on, lets clean you up” she says pulling him out of the room “someone will help you soon James, hang tight”
She leads Ghost into a spare room and closes the door behind her. He doesn’t say a word as he breathes heavily, his hands clenched as he tried to keep himself from going back and finishing the kid off.
“Can you take off your jacket?” she asks, her voice gentle. He looks up at her, her eyes were red and she was visibly exhausted. He does as told and unzips the thick fleece provided by the force. He reveals the tight black tee shirt he’d worn underneath and she inhales a sharp breath quietly as she stares at the way his muscles pop from the shirt. This was the second time she’d seen his bare arm, and she was still in shock. Fuck he was so sexy.
“besides what just happened, Have you been keeping yourself on light duty?” she asks, seemingly trying to move past the incident that just took place.
“Yes”
“Oh at least you followed one of my instructions” she comments sarcastically
“Are you okay?” he asks as she begins to slowly unwrap his wounds
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“James-”
“James is a dick but you could’ve really hurt him” she says disapprovingly.
“He can’t talk to you like that”
“Unfortunately that’s a part of the job Ghost, angry soldiers need someone to blame, often times the person in front of them trying to help”
“Still gives him no right” he grunts, she begins to clean out his wounds gently as she sighs. He says inherently apologizing for the way he treated her when she tried to help him months back.
“Then he would’ve blamed me for that too, made the rumors worse”
“If you want me to apoligize its not going to happen” he responds
“I don’t expect you to apoligize, I actually think it was really sweet what you did for me. Nobody’s ever defended me like that before” she muses
“Never?”
“No”
“You let me know if he opens his mouth again, I’ll make sure those are the last words that rat bastard ever speaks” he says, watching as her face lightens and she laughs. The sound is like music to his ears, the tense feeling in his stomach dissipating.
“I think you’ve scarred him straight”
“Fucker” he murmurs under his breath.
“I’m a big girl ghost, I can handle my own” she says
“I know you can, but I didn’t ask you to” he responds causing her to snort. “What would you have said to him?”
“I probably would’ve warned him not to threaten the person trying to help him, sound familiar?” she asks, he laughs and nods his head.
“very”
“Okay you’re all set” she says, fixing his sleeve “do you want anything for the pain?”
“No” he says, standing to his feet, his large stature once more towering over her.
He moves to the door and opens it, gesturing for her to walk in front of him. She smiles and walks into the common room, noticing a plate of food on the table. She frowns and walks over to it. “I wonder whose this is”
“I brought it for you” he comments, watching as she looks up at him in surprise “probably cold now”
“That was really sweet, thank you” she says taking a seat as she picks at it.
“Thank you for…” he trails off gesturing to his arm
“Anytime” she nods, watching as he turns to walk away, her eyes widen and she stands calling after him. Ghost turns, staring down at her in confusion.
“So I know you go by Ghost but I need your real name so I can update your file” she says, his body tenses and he glares down at her, she notices and shifts uncomfortably “Its protocol, legally I can’t keep using a blank form”
His mind races as he thinks of a way to get out of this situation. She seems to notice his distress and shakes her head.
“You know what, I’ll talk to Price and figure it out, no problem” she says, watching as he sighs in relief.
“Have a good night Ghost” she smiles before walking away.
-
Later that night she walks into her room, fresh out of the shower. She opens her door and notices it catching on something. She frowns and opens it all the way, noticing a file on the ground. She picks it up and opens it. At the top it read ‘Lieutenant Simon Riley’. Her heart swells as she nearly drops the file on the ground. A large smile spreads across her face as her cheeks turn pink. Simon, his name was Simon. He trusted her enough to reveal his name.
She spends an hour filling out his medical report, unable to keep the smile off of her face. As she finishes she sets the file on her bedside table and crawls under her covers. She lays on her back, staring up at the ceiling with a smile. Her heart racing at the thought of him. Simon Riley had her wrapped around his big ass fingers.
a/n: giggling and kicking my feet rn! I am losing my mind at this, ugh how sweet.
Chapter 6 - Bow
Good Doggy Masterlist
Beta Editor?? - @letmelickyoureyeballs
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
“Ah'm not complaining dathúil.” Soap looks you up and down, he seems to enjoy staring at you. You don’t understand why. It’s just your partially clothed body, you didn’t dislike the staring, but you didn’t love it either. You just didn’t care.
You couldn’t.
“Why are they in my house?” You question, walking behind the couch where Maya sat. They were across from here at the other couch, fully dressed like they were about to go on a mission. It wasn’t hard to put two and two together when you saw Maya.
“Oh son of a-”
“So you’re Chimera?” Price interrupts, saying your code name, and he isn’t better than the youngest member of the task force. “Is that why you moved here? To spy on us?”
“First off-”
“Be nice.” Maya interrupts and you want to remind her that the faster you say this the faster you can get dressed. But you don’t, instead you stare at her.
You continue, “First off, I don’t care about you. I’ve already said that. I don’t have to explain myself to you. Second off, why the hell are we teamed up with you guys?”
“Laswell paid us well.” Maya said, grabbing at her phone, “Had to let KorTac know though.” Maya and you had met at KorTac after your last relationship ended horribly. You had to get away from your old military company, and KorTac seemed desperate to have you once they saw your file. Maya was your partner from the beginning, her code name was Silver.
“I can never have a good vacation.” You groan, “Why the hell did you accept it?”
“We’re trying to find intel to go after Graves.”
You shut up, staring at Maya. Phillip Graves was a name banned from your household, like that one wizard from that one wizard movie. It had been a year since you had seen him, but the memories come rushing back, everything that he did. You nodded your head, accepting that once again you would go back into the field.
“How do you know Graves?” Gaz asks.
“None of your business.”
“You seem to love saying that.” Ghost says, and you decide not to respond. Instead you open up the first box you brought into the house, which was filled with your usual uniform. Grabbing it, you walk yourself into the closest room, which happened to be an unused bedroom, and got ready.
Tumblr media
Ghost is the first to stand after you leave, he stalks around the house, gaining information on the two residents. Despite only moving in a few days ago, there seemed to be some decoration items hung up. Pictures of Maya and what Ghost can assume to be her family, he can see her timeline through these pictures. Up until high school, she didn’t have a metal arm and then some time when she met You, she did.
He questions what happens, and knows Maya won’t be as stuck up as you, she’d probably answer. But he didn’t want to ask.
Instead he looked around.
The first bedroom he entered was painted a light purple, it had a multitude of boxes stacked up inside the walk-in closet, which still had its lights on, and a mattress just sitting in the middle of the room. He would guess it was Maya’s, not because of the color but because of the multitude of photos on the wall of her and other people, most of them having you.
The only information he could gather from her bedroom was that she graduated from Palons, the Academy of Alchemists. She seemed to do well from the multitude of medals she had hanging from her diploma.
He left the room, pausing as he heard a door open. Ghost waited a few seconds before continuing his search. Despite being a large man, his footsteps were silent. He opened another door, finding a bedroom with red walls, with a make-shift bed of blankets and pillows. The room was already a mess, boxers were lying on the floor along with a box of knives. Instead of a large walk-in closet like Maya had, there was a smaller one with a dresser inside.
What was on that dresser was what trapped his attention.
It seemed to be a snowglobe, at least the shape of one but no fake snow in sight. Instead, there was a singular figure, standing on ground that was painted to look like what he could guess to be lava. It was kind of childish, he wouldn’t expect it from you, but to be fair, he didn’t know you.
Just knew that you were a huge prick. One that was tied to him.
And Soap, Gaz, and Price. But still, him. Ghost didn’t feel special being tied to you, frankly if you dropped dead on this mission he might just start believing in something again. It’d be an act of fate, unlike meeting you.
He hears a familiar click of taking a handgun off of its safety. His grip tightens on the globe as he puts his hands to the side. “Put it down.” He recognizes your voice immediately. He knows you're angry but somehow it’s dimmed, like a sheet was covering the part in your brain that could make you angry. Instead you just seemed annoyed. You don’t seem to show much emotion besides that. He hates it. He’d rather you get angry at him, yell and hit him. At least it showed that the stuff he was doing bothered you. Enough for you to think about him. “Place it on the dresser, do not drop it.”
He does not understand why you care about this toy but he does as you say. Putting it down and turning around slowly. He’s almost sure you would kill him.
You’re dressed in uniform. A thick black shirt, with a pocket sewn to the left side of it with KorTac’s signature Wolf logo. There are items stuffed in it, but he doesn’t know what, which puts him on edge. The issued KorTac vest, black with the flag of your country of origin on the chest region. Along with thick black jeans that had knife and gun holsters wrapped around your thighs. Knee and elbow pads like the rest of them, and a black balaclava, but unlike him, your eye paint was a deep red.
Similar to dried blood.
Fingerless gloves which is strange but he wouldn’t comment on it, he can only count 3 weapons, two knives and the gun in your hand, obviously you didn’t care about your safety if you thought that would protect you. Your boots are black with gray laces, seeming to have dirt all over the laces yet the boots were relatively clean. You didn’t have your headgear in hand, but you did have a mic connected to your vest.
Your chosen weapon, AKA your sidearm, was a Beretta M9. You put it in one of your holsters, pointing at the exit. And so he leaves.
All he can think about is the two-headed dog figurine inside the snow globe, and how he could’ve sworn it moved.
ok before we get into the Thick of citygirl!reader’s return to the small town i was plagued by visions of her and ranch hand!art from earlier in the summer.
the town’s summer rodeo was coming up, and coming from new york, you didn’t really have a clue what that meant. you’re also bored bc your preferred form of entertainment for the summer was avoiding you. you’ve been chewing on your straw for the past ten minutes as you look out onto the ranch from the porch, brows furrowed.
it had been the third time you seduced art; him taking you in the toolshed after you bent over in front of him in a white sundress, the hem riding up to show your glistening cunt. he knew you had played with yourself earlier; it was the flush in your cheeks and the glossy lidded look you gave him over your shoulder. “oops, guess i dropped that,” you had drawled to the other ranch hands who were oblivious to your flirtations with art. he was pounding into you so hard the flimsy wood walls were shaking, but his hips stilled when he heard the other ranch hands coming back from feeding the cattle. “fuck,” he hissed—partially because the fear of getting caught wracked through his body and partially because you clenched on his cock in a way that brought him right to edge. of course he came in you and zipped himself up like normal, but there was a tenseness in his shoulders that hinted at something else.
well, it’s been five days, and you desperately needed him. you knew that he was avoiding you, but he couldn’t avoid his work, and if you were working alongside him, he can’t avoid you. so as the summer sun beats down on your back, you help pick strawberries alongside the ranch hands. “you comin’ to the rodeo, sweetheart?” patrick asks from a few rows down. he was eating more strawberries than he was picking. “now i’ve been hearing a lot about this rodeo, but i haven’t the faintest clue what it entails,” you respond. “well you’ll see a few of us bull ridin’” patrick starts, “you’ve ever seen that before up in that big ol’ city of yours?” you shake your head.
“don’t know why you do it, patrick,” art interjects. you shiver at hearing the timbre of his voice again. “getting bounced around, risking getting hurt like that? for what? a few seconds of adrenaline and pride,” art shakes his head, “idiotic.”
“you only say that because lily doesn’t let you do it anymore,” patrick retorts, and at your interested expression, he turns to face you. “art used to be the best in the state but once lily made him an honest man, he stopped. said she was scared every time he got on, and he couldn’t do anything that would hurt her or make her sad. but you? you look like a girl that enjoys a bit of danger.”
you do, and he’s standing next to you watching you with an expression that lights your skin on fire. “well, i won’t say i’m not intrigued,” you start, “always wondered what it’s like to ride a cowboy.” a low whistle comes from another one of the ranch hands.
“now what about this,” patrick starts, “i last long enough on that bull tomorrow, and you give me the honor of taking you out one night.” art stiffens next to you. the other ranch hands laugh and keep their eyes on the scene entertaining them during the day’s menial task. the plan lays itself out in front of you.
“now how bout this,” you say, sweeping your eyes over the men leering at you, “who ever lasts the longest on that bull tomorrow gets to take me out and help me fulfill that cowboy fantasy of mine.”
“now that’s a deal, sweetheart,” patrick says.
so riddle everyone’s surprise when art shows up in his gear and sets the town record bull riding. of course all the ranch hands grumble that your promise and prize was now wasted because art—loyal, cuffed art—did not need your prize and would never ever cash it in.
but he does that night when you ride him on his bed, bouncing and mewling on his cock the whole night wearing his cowboy hat. lucky for him, the following morning was his day off because he was DRAINED (in all senses of the word) and felt no desire to get up out of bed, staying curled up behind you with his arms firmly wrapped around your waist.
(but yes! i’m going to be a primary school teacher, so teaching the littlest children 🙂‍↕️ more ranch hand!art will be coming slowly once i’m more settled into my job)
- 🤠
WOOOF WOOOOOOF WOOOF
please art is so petty - can't handle anyone else having reader even though he can't claim her as his publicly, anyway. think this is where reader starts to fall for him - no ones ever really fought for her before. and arts display of possessiveness, even if she's the only one who knows it for what it is, when everyone else just thinks he's being a gentleman and keepin' the men of the town from harassin' you, you know what it's really for. can see it when he catches your eyes after he dismounts and a rush of butterflies take off in your tummy. the look says, you're mine.
and when lily comes busslin' up to him to fawn over him he doesn't even have it in him in the moment to feel guilty for not thinking about her at all, head full of all the ways he plans on collectin' his prize from you - your eyes meet his over his her head and he knows you'll be waiting for him by his truck later.
and late when he fucks you on his cock you can feel some of that rushed clumsiness of the first few quick fucks vanish as he takes his time - on his bed - a room he hasn't even allowed lily in, because it's improper - he takes his time feeding you his fingers - watching the way your body twitches and writhes for him - you're so reposnsive - so wet and tight - and he feels some part of him come out that he's always strugglin' to suppress - that he claims isn't there in the first place, but is now, with you naked and hot on his lap - "you wanted to ride a cowboy? s'that what all this is about, honey? you just needin' some rough and tumble dick in that city girl cunt?"
he eases you down onto him before you can answer - "take it, then -" because if you're here giving him hell just to get your rocks off, the least you can do it bounce on his dick like the whore you are. you're a wicked, wicked girl - you're also the only thing that's makin' him feel alive, his blood buzzin under his skin as you arch your back and slam your hips up and down on his cock like you're laying down your claim on him.
"how are you so - fuckin' good at this -" he doesn't really want to know - it's just insane - how he sinks inside you and immediately loses thought. some witchcraft in your pussy the way he can't stop thinking about it, even when he shouldn't be. he grips your ass in a punishing way, spanks you once, hard - "give me my prize, honey - ride me harder, c'mon -" and he spanks you again, like he's urging on a horse, spurrin' you and you go buck wild for it - squeezing his dick with your pussy, makin' his goddamn toes curl as you fuck him harder. the bed shakes on its hinges - your hands comes down to his bare chest to balance yourself as you rock back and forth wildly.
"fuck, that's it." you cry - "it's your pussy - you earned it - fuck me just like that. fuck that pussy - yeah - show me who's boss around here -"
cause you know he fuckin' hates your attitude - can see his need to straighten you out burning under his skin everytime he looks at you, know he blames you for his own weakness and you love it - love his anger and his hatred because it's passion and it's hot and you can feel how fucking badly he wants you when he grabs your waist and sits up so your chest to chest and wraps an arm around you, yankin' you against him, and then you're moving together, bodies slick and sliding and your mouths are a hairs breath apart and he's so deep - he's so fucking deep you can feel him in your throat - robbin' you of breath -
you don't have to beg for him to cum inside you like you usually do - it's just a known fact that he's gonna. you grab his face and press your forehead to his and you lock eyes and his fury looks alot like raw fuckin' desire when he pumps you full of his seed.
you're both so breathless and fucked out after, he doesn't think to tell you to get out - he tips to the side with you in his arms, holding you to him as you both come down. he thinks he'll tell you to get cleaned up and get goin' in just a few minutes. just needs to catch his breath.
you both fall asleep within minutes.
chapter 11 ► i can hear your heartbeat i’ve tried so hard to forget, i’m being buried under the memory of all of my regrets
Tumblr media
On the flight to Amsterdam in the morning, you ended up sitting next to Luna. That wasn’t particularly unusual as your entire team—apart from the roadies who drove the bus with the equipment over from Oslo, bless them—tended to change seats as they pleased.
Normally, though, Luna sat next to her boyfriend. So, the fact that she was sitting next to you this time was unusual.
“Funny thing,” she said to you once the plane was in the air and everyone around you began to slowly move around. “I didn’t sleep well last night.”
You looked at her. “How is that funny?”
“It’s funny because when I woke up to get a bottle of water from the mini fridge,” she said, “the curtains on your bunk were drawn.”
You swallowed, suspecting what she was getting at, but refusing to give in. “That doesn’t sound very funny, either.”
“No, I agree,” she said, grinning as she got to the best part, “but as I went back, I noticed that Jungkook wasn’t in his bunk.”
You looked down at your tablet, the e-book you had opened already forgotten as the lines on the screen blurred together. “Huh.”
“Yeah,” Luna said. The more you evaded her, the happier she seemed. She had come to her own conclusions that, honestly, weren’t very far from the truth, but you couldn’t admit that, not even to her. “Any clue what’s that about?”
“None,” you lied with a nonchalant expression. “But I’m sure the explanation would be funny.”
She continued to grin at you. “I’m sure it would be. I’d love to hear it.”
You swallowed and pretended to be busy reading, even though the words on the screen might as well have been gibberish, given how little sense they made.
“I’m sure you would,” you mumbled.
Luna groaned. She wanted to know, and it was hard not to push when you were right there, and the truth of what had happened was on the tip of your tongue.
“Come on!” she pleaded, nudging her shoulder against yours. “Don’t make me wake Maggie.”
You knew Maggie was settled in the seat behind you, sleep mask, earpods and neck pillow in tow. She wasn’t the interrogator out of the two of them, but if she and Luna teamed up, they would either get you to admit everything, or they’d come to their own—probably exaggerated—version of what happened which you’d have to deny, thus confirming their initial suspicions anyway.
“What do you want me to say?” you asked, stalling.
“Just confirm what I already suspect,” Luna said, knowing better than to ask for the whole story.
You looked away instead of answering, but there was a warmth in your eyes that wasn’t there before; Luna’s questions had evidently brought back the memories of last night.
“Alright!” your friend cheered at the sight of it, relentless. “That’s confirmation enough.”
You shook your head, trying to suppress the smile that was tugging at your lips, but Luna still saw the corners of your mouth lift.
“How about you tell me why you weren’t sleeping tonight instead,” you said—only partially because you wanted to change the subject. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah. That just happens sometimes, maybe too much adrenaline.” She shrugged, letting you drift off topic for the moment. “Should’ve jumped less at the concert last night. But hey, that was the reason I got to witness that very funny thing last night.” She snickered then, and, in response to your glare, said, “but I’m really fine.”
You knew the band would have three days off in Amsterdam before the next show, so Luna could reasonably get enough sleep in that time, but you still asked, “you sure?”
“Yes,” she repeated, then ran her fingers over her eyes, “and no third degree, please. I’m sitting with you because my boyfriend,” she emphasised the word as she sat up straight to look over the several rows of seats behind her where Taehyung sat, “as much as I love him, he won’t stop asking me if I’m fine every two seconds.”
“And here I thought you were sitting with me because you loved me,” you teased.
“I do love you,” she said. “But I also feel bad for him. I told him to sit with Yoongi, because Yoongi always naps on flights, and I knew that was the only way Tae would get any sleep.”
“Wait, so he didn’t sleep tonight, either?” you asked.
“He did at first,” Luna said, “but then he saw that I was awake, and he ended up staying awake, too.”
You smiled despite yourself. “You guys sicken me.”
Suddenly, someone grabbed the back of your seat—you felt fingers brush gently past your tied-back hair—and you heard Maggie moan behind you.
“You guys,” she muttered, sliding the mask from her eyes and leaning into the gap between your seat and Luna’s, “sicken me, too.”
“I thought you were asleep,” Luna said.
“How can I sleep? My earpods died a minute ago,” Maggie explained her own logic before directing her attention to you. “So, anyway. What happened between you and Jungkook?”
The continued ambush made you stutter, “wh-why do you keep asking that? Nothing happ—”
“Luna,” Maggie turned to your friend. “What happened? You and Taehyung were awake. I trust your words.”
You raised your eyebrows while Luna chuckled.
“Don’t worry,” she said to you. “I was the one who drew these conclusions. Taehyung didn’t see anything, he only heard Jungkook climb into his bunk.”
At first, you hadn’t even realised that Taehyung staying awake when Luna couldn’t sleep meant that he was not only a great boyfriend to her, but also that half the bus was awake when Jungkook snuck into your bunk.
“Jolly,” you said dryly as your eyes immediately left your friend’s face.
She smiled automatically, and, urged by your flustered state, turned to Maggie to tell her the facts: her lack of sleep and the search for a water bottle that led to the discovery of your drawn curtains and Jungkook’s empty bunk.
“And if you must know,” Luna said to you then, “my original plan was to make sure you were alone on the plane, so someone could take the seat next to you. But I ruined it by exiling my boyfriend to the back and finding you myself.”
“Clever plan,” you commented. “Thanks for sabotaging it.”
She snickered, not losing her optimism despite your sarcasm.
“More flights in the future,” Maggie remarked, prompting Luna to nod in eager agreement. “Maybe it’ll work out then.”
“Mmhmm. Fingers crossed,” you deadpanned.
“So, um, not to ruin the happy conversation,” Maggie said before she ruined the happy conversation, “but have you made a decision about Reconnaissance?”
“Oh.” You slumped in your chair. “No. My decision is to think about it as little as possible, so I can call Nick next month and tell him I’m not doing it. Because I’m afraid that if I do start thinking about it, I’ll end up… you know, wavering.”
Maggie regarded you from the gap between the seats. “And that’s bad?”
“That’s bad,” you confirmed. “I know I want to stay here.”
“Have you told the guys?” Luna asked.
“No. I haven’t had the chance yet.” You looked down, twisting the decorative silver-coloured ring on your index finger. “I kind of want this to come up naturally. I mean, as naturally as possible. So that it doesn’t seem like such a big deal.”
Luna nodded sympathetically, while Maggie’s grin widened behind you.
“Yeah,” she said. “And, obviously, you and Jungkook are busy with other things for this to come up naturally.”
You saw Luna start to laugh as your eyes widened and your lips formed the first excuse that came to mind. “Okay, that’s not even true, we were just—”
The two girls were snickering too hard to hear you, but it was Maggie’s considerate tap on your shoulder—as if to tell you to stop talking because they knew better—that made you close your mouth and roll your eyes at the two of them.
“So.” Luna shifted in her seat, looking for a more comfortable position. Even though she had the window seat, she didn’t look out once, focusing on you instead. “Now that we’re back on the subject—”
“There was no subj—”
“—you and Jungkook,” she persisted, undeterred by your attempt to return your attention to the tablet on your lap. “What does this mean?”
You sighed, realising you needed to say something. Luna and Maggie weren’t questioning you to be mean, they just wanted to know. And it was fair, considering you shared almost everything with each other, especially now that Luna joined Rated Riot for some of their tour dates.
And yet this particular topic was difficult. Just the mention of Jungkook’s name blocked something in your throat, as if there were only certain things you could say about him, and what had happened on the bus last night was not one of them.
“Nothing,” you said sincerely, because those five minutes with him were truly not supposed to hold any significance. “It wasn’t—it’s nothing.”
“Okay,” Luna said, lowering her eyebrows and her voice. “And if we’re serious, then what does it mean?”
You closed your eyes. “It—”
“Hey.” Unexpectedly, Jungkook’s voice rang from the aisle next to you. “Am I interrupting?”
This forced your eyes to shoot open in surprise.
“Oh, speak of the devil,” Maggie muttered with a half-smirk as she pulled back, retreating deeper into her seat. Her eyes were still shining from this seemingly top-secret information that she had to squeeze out of you.
“Huh?” Jungkook looked at the girl behind you. Then, beaming as he realised what she was getting at, he asked, “oh, were you talking about me?”
“Not at all,” you said, locking your tablet and putting it in the back pocket of the seat in front of you. Jungkook wasn’t sure which of his questions you were answering. You asked, “what’s up?”
“It’s Hoseok,” he said. “He’s had a headache since before we boarded. He says he’s fine, but the veins on his temples are very prominent, so I think he could use some medicine.”
You grew visibly alarmed as he spoke, your mind racing through scenarios of what to do. There weren’t a lot of options, considering you were thousands of feet in the air right now.
“He hasn’t taken any?” you asked slowly.
“No,” Jungkook replied. He reminded you, “he says he’s fine.”
You nodded – this was Hoseok in a nutshell. Unless he collapsed abruptly, he was in perfect health.
“Of course,” you said. “Give me a moment, I have Advil in my bag.”
Jungkook patiently waited while you stood up from your aisle seat and grabbed your backpack from the overhead compartment. He was completely unaware of the big grins on Luna and Maggie’s faces as the girls watched him watch you.
They didn’t know why they bothered asking you anything. You were both painfully obvious.
“Here,” you said, handing him the package of medicine. “Maybe I should go over there—”
“I got it. Thanks,” he said with a good-natured smile. After a beat of silence, during which the two of you just watched each other and Luna had to bite her lip to stay quiet, Jungkook added, “get some rest. We have big plans in Amsterdam.”
You raised your eyebrows. “We? As in, you and me?”
You could see Luna through your peripherals, pretending to scratch something near her eye to hide her ridiculous beaming.
“Yes. I made a promise, remember?” Jungkook said.
You didn’t, not right away. Then the taxi ride in Paris returned to your memory.
“Oh, the bikes?” you asked, feeling almost ridiculous now. You had mentioned Amsterdam as a dream destination back then, but you didn’t think he’d consider it important enough to remember. “We don’t have to—”
“We’ll do it,” he cut you off. “I’ll come pick you up from your room when we get to the hotel.”
He made sure to leave you no option to disagree, so, you swallowed and nodded your head. “Okay. Sure.”
He gave Luna a quick smile, nodded at Maggie, then winked at you, and walked past, intentionally bringing his hand over your waist as you stood in the aisle.
You sat down, your skin on fire, but you naively hoped it did not show on your face. Really, it didn’t have to. Luna was, on a certain level, a psychic. Or, at least, hyper-aware of her surroundings. Maggie, on the other hand, just reacted to social cues, albeit not always quickly unless they were obvious. And, this time, they were obvious.
“Romantic,” Luna commented.
“Why bikes?” was Maggie’s addition to the conversation. “I say rent out a carriage. With white horses.”
Luna jumped in, “and white doves!”
“Alright, shut up,” you shot back, shaking your head to fight off another smile as the two girls nodded at each other conspiratorially.
This was ridiculous. But as Luna and Maggie chuckled next to you, you found yourself relaxing as well. They hadn’t scolded you for being unreasonable or evading a decision about Reconnaissance, or behaving stupidly altogether—even though you thought you deserved that. Instead, the girls just seemed excited for you.
Because of their good mood, you couldn’t bring yourself to worry about the meaningfulness of going bike riding after all that had happened on the bus last night.
And, in all truth, you felt excited as well.
Tumblr media
As Jungkook unzipped his suitcase in the hotel room he shared with Yoongi—who had already finished unpacking his equipment and had successfully occupied the only desk in the room—he realised two things.
The first was that he hadn’t packed enough black shirts and would have to wear white today, like a—he didn’t even know what. He always wore black.
And the second was that he felt a newfound motivation. Last night, as he returned to his bunk, stumbling over his own feet and thoughts of you, he had felt, simply, deflated. But today was different. He decided that if he were to take anything from last night, it would be this: you didn’t push him away.
And now he couldn’t give up on you.
So, groaning, he changed into a white shirt and glanced at the mirror by the door before leaving. He saw no difference in his appearance as he brought a hand through his hair, letting it fall in shaggy curls over his face. But then as he reached for the bottle of cologne in his toiletry bag, he saw that his hands were shaking. He was nervous.
He could remember an almost identical moment seven years ago when he took you out on your first date, not knowing back then that it would lead to a three-year relationship with a very bitter end.
To be clear, it was the bitter end that he hadn’t foreseen. Because even seven years ago, as he frantically double-checked your dinner reservations with a carefulness that was very unlike him, he knew he wouldn’t go on another first date after that night.
It was funny how he managed to be wrong and right at the same time.
This felt like a first date again. But it was still with you.
Seven years ago, you two had ended up missing your dinner reservations after all, because you’d gone to see a movie first—some romantic drama with a tragic end that you both pretended not to have cried at—and by the time it was over, it had started to rain.
You had tried to run, but you never made it past the park across from the restaurant. You had ended up in a gazebo in a clearing surrounded by willow trees and spent that night listening to the rain and falling in love.
“You okay over there?” Yoongi called out, bringing Jungkook back down from his memories.
“Hmm?” he turned to look at the older member. “Yeah. Why?”
“Been staring at your reflection for the past five minutes,” Yoongi said, taking off his headphones and resting them around his neck. “Is this an existential crisis or something I shouldn’t even bother asking about?”
Jungkook smiled softly. “Probably a little bit of both.”
“Alright.” Yoongi felt himself smile in response. “Stay safe.”
The younger boy nodded, took a deep breath, and glanced at his reflection one last time. Unconsciously, he brought his lip ring between his teeth and held it there for a second, before finally exiting the room.
He walked two doors down and knocked on yours. You opened it almost right away, but his heart still managed to do twelve and a half somersaults while he waited.
And then, as soon as you smiled and opened the door wider, inviting him inside, he could tell he was so fucked that he wasn’t sure if he could even fully grasp the extent of it.
You were wearing a loose pale blue shirt with a dark blue sports bra peeking through, paired with black biker shorts. The outfit seemed fitting for the occasion, but it made him lean against the door frame to avoid losing his balance. His mind was overflowing with thoughts and memories of you, to the point where he was sure they would start leaking if he opened his mouth.
Thankfully, you spoke up first as you went over to grab your backpack—smaller than the one you carried your belongings in during flights—from your bed. He found himself wondering how many bags you’d brought to Europe in a desperate attempt to distract himself from his pestilent memories.
“How’s Hoseok?” you asked.
Somewhere deep in his mind, Jungkook recalled walking the older member to his room when they got to the hotel, because as soon as Hoseok’s headache subsided, he really struggled to stay awake. But now, as he watched you move around the room—literally not doing anything other than gathering your phone and the hotel keycard—Jungkook found himself unable to form a single coherent sentence.
You paused and looked at him questionably.
He figured he’d better speak up instead of standing here like a complete idiot.
“He, uh—he’s—you know, he’s, uh, taking a nap,” he managed to say, mentally kicking himself. He sounded more composed when he wasn’t speaking. He cleared his throat and crossed his arms over his chest to get it together. “He said he’s fine. I think he meant it this time. Some colour returned to his face.”
“That’s good,” you said with a thoughtful nod. “He’s probably tired now. I’ll text him to let me know when he’s awake.”
“Yeah,” Jungkook agreed, listening to you but only half-hearing everything as you walked around your room, looking for something.
You weren’t sharing this room with anyone, but not by choice. Your room happened to be used to store everything that was too dangerous to keep on the bus for several nights during the stop in Amsterdam. 75% of the space here was filled with boxes of instruments and stage clothes.
Now you stood in the very centre of the room and somehow managed to look so effortlessly captivating that Jungkook wouldn’t have noticed if a robber jumped in and carried all the furniture out in comic slow-motion. He brought his hands over his face while you weren’t looking, but it did little to slow his heartbeat down.
“So, anyway,” he said with a strained voice, “are you ready?”
You bit your lip—why, why, why, had he not died enough times since he came here?—as you hesitated. “Yeah, but, as I’ve said before—”
“Then let’s go, please,” he cut you off shakily before you could assure him that he didn’t have to do this.
He thought he did. Although not to win the bet.
He had to do this because he knew you wanted this, and he’d rather throw himself into one of the canals than miss the chance to make at least one of your dreams come true.
He also had to get out of your hotel room, because being in control of himself was starting to seem like a theoretical idea more than an actual mechanism that he could use.
While you locked your room behind you, Jungkook turned to see Sid and Jude exit the elevator at the end of the hallway. Sid noticed him and stopped, punching Jude on the chest to get his attention. Already in the process of swinging back at him, Jude lifted his eyes and caught sight of Jungkook, too. Even from across the hall, Jungkook could see the impressed smiles on their faces when they noticed you next to him.
He looked away immediately, but still felt a sobering sensation in his chest. Once again, he repeated to himself that he wasn’t doing this for the bet.
However, he couldn’t help but doubt if that made any difference. What he was doing now still counted towards winning the bet.
But he knew he didn’t have the strength to avoid you or to justify the bet to himself in any other way. He’d given in last night. And he was barely holding himself together right now.
This was it. He’d made a choice.
It was a choice he should have made four years ago, instead of watching you walk away. Instead of thinking he could drown out the bitterness of you leaving with drinks that Sid, Jude, and Minjun served him.
It was you. It should have always been you.
Fortunately, his friends had already gone to their hotel room when you looked up, so you didn’t have to see them.
And, when the two of you found yourselves alone in the elevator, Sid and Jude were the last thing on Jungkook’s mind.
He felt you glance at him, but avoided meeting your eyes. He kept biting his lip, acutely aware of how long the ride down from the tenth floor should take and all the things that you could do during it.
“White looks good on you,” you commented, looking away from him.
Reflexively, he looked down at his shirt. “You think so?”
“Yeah,” you said. Then, glancing at him again, you added, “somehow brings out your eyes.”
This made his smile ridiculously big, the reaction amplified by the casual tone of your voice. You sounded like you’d just pointed out to someone that their shoes were untied – a helpful observation, nothing more.
“Ah,” he said, unable to resist. “Brings out my eyes, does it?”
You shot him a glare from the corner of your eye.
“I take it back,” you said. “White looks awful on you, never wear it again.”
He laughed, but did not lose his footing as he teased, “well, if it bothers you that much, I can take it off.”
You started to smile—an automatic reaction when you heard him laugh—but then widened your eyes instead.
“Please don’t do that in such a public place,” you said.
The alarm in your voice amused him endlessly. In your defence, you knew him well enough to know that he would actually do it if you challenged him.
“Oh?” he inquired, leaning closer with a playful grin. “Where would you like me to undress for you, then?”
You glanced at him and then very ceremoniously looked away. “That’s n-not what I meant.”
He laughed again and you were relieved when the elevator doors opened in the lobby a moment later, because you were certain that the warmth in your chest was starting to radiate off of you.
Tumblr media
Jungkook wanted to rent bicycles for the whole day, but you convinced him that you’d both already be tired after a few hours. He knew you had a point, but he wanted to spend as much time with you as possible and he was fine if bikes were, really, the reason for it.
In the end, you agreed on three hours, which was already too much as both of you began to complain about your thighs hurting after the first hour and a half.
But Amsterdam was beautiful, and it made the ache worth it.
Subtle tinges of decay and dampness, along with the stunning trees, still in miraculous full bloom despite it being mid-September, all tickled your senses as you and Jungkook rode your bikes through the streets of Amsterdam. The canals sparkled on your left while beautiful buildings lined the street on your right, tourists coursing back and forth down the pavement.
The wheel of the bike felt rough against your palms, and you wished you had brought gloves, but the sights, the smells, and even the noise of the crowds made it easier to endure the slight discomfort.
When you caught up to Jungkook, the two of you exchanged a glance. Both of your eyes were glittering, smiles widening, your hair blowing in the wind.
You realised that the sights here looked remarkably like the postcards your uncle had brought you. But being here felt completely different from what you’d expected when you looked at the cards.
Wordlessly, Jungkook smirked and challenged you to a race. Laughing as you sped up to catch up to him again, you took a deep breath and closed your eyes for just a second, savouring it all.
The feeling in your chest right now was something you could never capture in a postcard to bring home.
Another hour later, the two of you returned your bicycles and Jungkook persuaded you to get some ice cream. You had to agree. At that point, you were tired and a little dizzy, and the sun was too bright to do anything but attempt to cool yourselves down.
You sat down on a bench by the canal and Jungkook noticed the almost constant smile on your face. He felt a surge of ideas of all that he could do in hopes of making you smile like this again.
“Did you ever think we’d be here?” he asked after a minute, looking back at the canal. “You and me.”
You looked at him. “What do you mean? In Amsterdam?”
“Yeah,” he nodded. “Back in university. When you used to look at those postcards above your desk, did you ever imagine us being here?”
You blinked, surprised once again by how much of your conversation in Paris and how much of your life from four years ago he remembered.
“You remember the postcards,” you said softly.
“Of course,” he said, suddenly turning solemn. “I’m sorry I never asked what they meant to you.”
“No, it’s—” you stopped in the middle of shaking your head. Then chose to just answer his previous question instead, “I don’t know. Back then, I think I imagined us everywhere.”
He smiled as he adjusted to the irregular beating of his heart. It was a new constant when he was with you. And it was a health hazard, he knew. And still, he’d missed it.
“Was I in a band in your imagination?” he asked.
“Absolutely not,” you said, pausing while he laughed so hard that he nearly doubled over. You didn’t think your response deserved this reaction, but it drew a smile from you regardless. “And I wasn’t your manager. We were normal people, doing normal things.”
He stopped laughing and looked at you, a slight furrow in his brow. “Wait. Are we not?”
You gave him a look. “Are we?”
“Why not?” he asked with a shrug as he took a bite of his waffle cone before the ice cream could fully melt. “Who’s to say what’s normal?”
You continued to watch him, several classes of statistics and standard deviation under your belt. “Do you want an honest answer?”
“No,” Jungkook said without hesitation. He looked ahead as he spoke, “I like to think that ‘being normal’ is just a construct.”
“Well, it is, but—”
“Don’t do it,” he interrupted. “If you mention statistics, I will—respectfully—toss you right into that canal.” He was the one who paused here as your smile widened at his threat. After a moment, he continued, “let me romanticise this. In my head, we are normal people.”
You agreed with a noncommittal shake of your head. “Okay, sure.”
“To be honest,” he said then, “I never imagined us here.”
“No?”
“In my mind, we were always in our little world. The campus, our dorms, our family homes,” he explained, gesturing with his hand as he listed the places that the two of you had spent years in. “That’s as far as I imagined us.”
You swallowed an unexpected lump in your throat and felt it go down heavily, catching on your trachea, stumbling around your lungs, and forcing you to clear your throat as you still tasted something bitter on your tongue.
It was a nice day. You didn’t want to rip open old wounds and pour salt on them just to see what would happen.
“Well, you’re not far off,” you said, brushing invisible dust off your shorts and focusing on your ice cream for a moment before you added, “that’s as far as we went.”
Jungkook sensed the discomfort in your words, but did not understand the cause.
“What do you mean?” he asked. “We’re here, aren’t we? The furthest I imagined us was, maybe, 100 kilometres south of your mum’s house. By the sea. And now we’re in fucking Amsterdam.”
He was right, you’d made it so far. But even though you felt your shoulders relax a little, you still insisted, “it’s different now.”
“How is it different?” he questioned further.
“Well, for one, we’re not in university anymore,” you said obviously enough. “No campus to come back to.”
“Bless that. I wouldn’t want to go back now.”
“And we’re not together anymore.”
Cringing at the unnecessary addition, Jungkook managed to say, “but we are.”
You looked down as you finished your ice cream and kicked some pebbles with the soles of your sneakers. “You know what I mean.”
“I know,” he replied, not giving up as he looked at you for a moment before stumbling a bit quietly, a bit awkwardly, “but, um. We are together. Still.”
You lifted your eyes to meet his, but looked away after barely a minute, frightened by how much of your shared history you could see there.
You couldn’t do this. Five minutes in the dark bus, with no one but the two of you in your bunk, was one thing. You could pretend it didn’t mean anything, even though his taste still lingered in your mouth.
But this conversation was not something that you could pretend to forget in five minutes. This was four years of silence. Of locked doors, deleted pictures, and wet pillowcases.
Four years of forced solitude, tall, thick walls, and strict boundaries.
Some of them you’d crossed.
But now you were here. And you couldn’t cross this one. You couldn’t reminisce with him while ignoring the weight of your break-up.
Exhaling, you pursed your lips. “You know what? You’re right. We’re as together now as we were back then.”
Jungkook felt his muscles stiffen. The last bites of his ice cream were completely tasteless.
“What—what is that supposed to mean?” he asked, not blinking as he watched you.
He was cold all of a sudden, he realised. Sitting right under the warm sun of September, and shivering. He suspected that ice cream had very little to do with this.
“You know what it means,” you replied, unaware of how much your vague response affected him because you did not look at him.
It felt like he was speeding down the streets of Amsterdam on his bicycle, and suddenly, someone poked a stick into the wheel, forcing him to fly off the bike and land on something very sharp. Something very confusing. Very painful.
“No,” he said slowly. “I don’t think I do.”
You looked up finally, more out of confusion than anything else. You weren’t sure if he was pretending, playing another stupid game, or if he genuinely did not understand.
He was watching you with a frown, clenching his jaw harder with each passing second that you did not respond. He genuinely did not understand.
“It means,” you said, “that this was what our dates used to be like. Like two co-workers trying to have a meaningful conversation.”
Jungkook didn’t know which word to react to first: ‘co-workers’ or ‘trying’, so he just went quiet.
“And, at what point in our relationship,” he asked after a minute, “did you figure that was how you felt?”
You heard the bitterness in his voice and felt your irritation grow. He had some audacity to question you like this after the way your relationship ended.
“It wasn’t how I felt,” you said, nearly spitting the word out. “It’s how it was.”
He scoffed. “Don’t try to make this objective. It’s clearly just your own perception.”
Your eyebrows rose involuntarily, your heart reacting to his words before your mind could.
“How could it be?” you argued, clearly in disbelief that he had a different point of view. “We barely talked. The longest conversation we had, at that point, was when you had to describe the fucking police station that you were in after you got arrested.”
“At what point?” he asked again, frustration even more evident in his voice.
“I don’t know,” you shot back, exasperated. “A few months before we broke up, maybe? We weren’t spending any time together anymore. And if we were, then your asshole friends were there with us. Everyone who knew us could tell we were going to break up eventually.”
Looking away, Jungkook squeezed his lips together, running his tongue over the inside of his teeth. His entire body seemed to go numb and then suddenly tense up again.
He didn’t know how you got here, how you reached this conversation, but he had a vague feeling that you were meant to talk about this sooner or later.
It wasn’t easy, though. He had to force himself to keep looking at you, force himself to speak, to say the things he’d only managed to put into song lyrics until this point.
“I couldn’t,” he finally said.
You frowned. “What?”
“I couldn’t tell,” he said, a self-deprecating expression on his face. He continued speaking while intentionally gazing into the distance, “you may find that shocking to believe, but until the day you said we shouldn’t be together anymore, I thought we were in love.”
“You literally just said that you could barely imagine us outside of my mum’s house,” you retorted.
“That’s because I never wanted us to be anywhere else!” he snapped, looking at you with a level of anger that you’d never seen in all the years you’d known him. “I liked what we had.”
“We had nothing!” you argued, your hands in the air. Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed some tourists doing double-takes as they walked by. You were far too engrossed in the conversation to control your volume. “You went out every night and caused a scene every time you brought your friends over. You went along with them when they tried to kill themselves drag racing, despite my protests. You didn’t even—”
“I named my car after you!” Jungkook interjected, even though the car wasn’t, technically, his. It had been a gift from Sid, so all of his friends could race together, but he thought his point still stood. He used the car, and he wanted it to have your name.
“Right,” you acknowledged his—largely pointless—interruption, “and I’m sure that would have been very meaningful if you hadn’t crashed it on your first fucking drive. Like I told you that you would.”
“Yeah, well.” He moved his jaw, poking his cheek with his tongue. “At least I loved you until the very end.”
That was a lie, the past tense he’d used. But he looked at you and the fire in your eyes intimidated him. He knew you wouldn’t believe him if he told you he’d never stopped being in love with you.
“For your information, I didn’t break up with you because I stopped loving you,” you said with an angry huff. Your following explanation seemed to rip the bandages you’d carefully glued on the gaping wounds in your chest. “I broke up with you because I felt like you stopped loving me.”
He felt a sudden chill, and—immediately—frostbite. As though he’d gone out dancing in a blizzard the night before, and the blood in his veins had frozen, a bewildering cold gripping his chest.
You thought he had stopped loving you.
Jungkook swallowed hard as he listened and couldn’t open his mouth to reply. Couldn’t lift his eyes off the ground.
He didn’t know how long he stayed completely still, alternating between seemingly looking at himself from the outside, and listening to the deafening screeching inside of his mind.
He was paralysed when he felt you stand up from the bench. When he saw your shadow move away and, eventually, disappear.
You hadn’t said another word and he remembered how familiar this feeling was.
He remembered standing in his dorm room, speechless and angry with himself, after you stormed out because he had told you he already had plans; he was going out with Sid, Jude, and Minjun again—racing. Or drinking. Or one after the other, not necessarily in the same order.
Maybe you were right.
He had stopped acting like your boyfriend long before he actually stopped being one.
Because the two of you had wordlessly agreed to never discuss your relationship or your break-up again, four years have passed without any closure whatsoever—and only now he realised that he wasn’t the one who was hurt.
He realised how much he’d hurt you.
All this time, he was insecure about the end of your relationship because you were the one who broke up with him. You were the one who left.
He never looked for reasons within himself. He stupidly, blindly, thought he hadn’t done anything that warranted this. He thought you just didn’t want him anymore. He thought these things happened sometimes.
He never thought he was the one who made that happen.
He didn’t know what he was doing now.
How could he even attempt to get back together with you without making up for his mistakes? Making up for his unforgivable ignorance?
He’d apologise—he’d have to, he could feel his entire skin itching the longer he sat there, not looking for you—but would it mean anything, if you didn’t believe that he changed?
Had he changed?
He was sitting here, alone, after all. Because of a bet that he’d made with the same people who broke you up the first time.
Suddenly, Jungkook looked up. He knew how to answer all of his questions.
He had to act, first of all, instead of passively regretting everything he’d done and hadn’t done.
Tumblr media
“The bet is over,” Jungkook declared as soon as he threw open the door of Sid’s hotel room, not bothering to knock.
He wanted to get back together with you, without any underlying conditions, secrets, or bets.
Just you and him.
All three of his friends were here and they were, understandably, surprised. Although Minjun’s shock quickly turned into pride—and Jungkook felt his heart flutter. He needed this.
“What?” Jude asked, poking his head out of Sid’s bathroom and sniffling before he brought his hand over his nose. “You’re back together?”
“Doesn’t matter,” Jungkook replied firmly. “I’m not doing this anymore.”
Sid walked out of the bathroom next—Jungkook had no interest in what they were doing in there—with some sort of a mix of a smirk and a scowl on his face.
“Well, you can’t just decide that,” he said, wiping his hands on a towel even though they seemed dry, “can you?”
“Uh, yes, I can,” Jungkook argued, feeling foolish to be having this conversation. It seemed as silly now as it had before, when he had returned from Paris and Sid forcefully prolonged the bet. “I made the bet—”
“We made it, too,” Sid cut him off, his voice stern. He treated this like a legitimate deal, a legally binding contract almost. “And we don’t think it can be over just because you’re afraid of losing.”
“I’m not afraid of losing,” he said and for a moment, he was surprised to realise that he truly meant it. His bike seemed so trivial when compared to all that he could lose if he won it back. “I’m just not fucking doing this with you anymore.”
“Well, then you lose by default,” Sid shrugged. “I keep the bike.”
“Actually, we keep the—” Jude was interjecting, but Jungkook took a large step towards Sid, stopping just inches from his face. It caused Jude to stop talking immediately.
“You don’t keep anything,” Jungkook snarled, emphasising every syllable, despite seeing how little it meant to Sid. “If the bet is over, there’s no winners or losers.”
“But the bet isn’t over,” Sid countered with a self-assured grin. “Not unless all involved parties agree to it. Right, Minjun?”
Jungkook glanced at the only remaining person in this room.
Minjun sounded uncomfortable as he began, “well, to be honest—”
“Careful now,” Sid cut in sharply. “You’re supposed to enforce the rules of the bet.”
Of course, what he really meant was, you’re supposed to obey me.
Jungkook saw Minjun hesitate.
“Look, man, it’s a bet,” he said. Jungkook felt himself exhale in immeasurable relief. He had someone on his side. He had a friend. Minjun continued, “it’s literally just a game. If he doesn’t want to do it anymore, then—”
“Then tough shit, isn’t it?” Sid’s tone was menacing. “Considering he’s going to have to do it anyway.”
“It was stupid—”
Sid was so indecently unfazed that he was practically inviting a punch in the face as he replied, “he shouldn’t have agreed to it if it was stupid.”
His sneer made Jungkook perk up.
“I didn’t agree to shit. It was you—” he started to say, then cut himself off. He did agree to it. But he couldn’t help but still feel manipulated. Tricked.
Likely for the first time in his life, Jungkook could see—with bitter clarity—that these people were bad for him. But he’d called them friends for so long, he’d done so much with them, never really facing any long-term consequences, that he never even questioned it.
Until now.
Until he realised that there was a long-term consequence to his friendship with Sid: your break-up.
“I’m not doing this,” Jungkook finally finished.
“Not doing what?” Sid asked with a laugh that seemed louder than usual, strengthened by whatever he’d done in the bathroom before he got interrupted. “If you back out, you lose. The bike goes to me—”
“And me,” Jude interjected. Jungkook was this close to knocking them both out, but he knew it’d bring him exactly zero extra points with his band or with you.
“—what’s not clear to you about this?” Sid finished, ignoring Jude and the glare on Jungkooks face.
“I won the first bet,” Jungkook hissed, “so the bike is, technically, mine, but that’s—”
“Technically, you didn’t,” Sid interrupted, pouting to convey fake-pity. “And you won’t win this one, either. That’s clearly why you’re trying so hard to get out of this. It’s what you do. You never fight if you see that you won’t immediately succeed.”
It stung – because he knew that Sid was right. But it also felt unfair, because Sid was the one who made it impossible for Jungkook to succeed at anything unless he excelled at it on the first try. Sid simply couldn’t voluntarily surround himself with people who were better than him, so he put in great effort to make sure they weren’t.
“I’m not—I’m just realising how fucking immature you are,” Jungkook retorted, trying to control the volume of his voice as he knew his frustration only benefitted Sid.
Sid laughed and leaned in even closer—his nose nearly brushed against Jungkook. Once again, he felt irritated that despite barely being shorter than Sid, he was still treated like the last living hobbit.
“Oh, the little baby thinks I’m immature because he realises that we’re not here to cater to his wishes,” Sid taunted. If the edges of Jungkook’s vision weren’t so red, he might have pointed out the irony to him; Sid was the one who made a living by forcing people to favour him. “Maybe you should have considered that before making the bet. You’ve never won against me. And you never will.”
“Sid,” Minjun cut in again. “Let it go. You can have your fun at someone else’s expense.”
He pulled something out of his pocket, and Jungkook’s breath caught in his throat when he recognised the keys to his Katana. Sid had a similar reaction, except his surprise quickly turned to disdain.
Who does he think he is, Sid’s scorn seemed to be asking, to defy me?
“You might want to think twice about it, Minjun,” Sid said out loud, his voice dangerously calm. He pulled away from Jungkook to give Minjun a warning look. “You think this is a funny little game, but I bet it won’t be so funny when it has very real consequences.”
Jungkook turned his head in time to witness Minjun’s face drain of colour, but he couldn’t comprehend this reaction—not in a way that made sense, at least. His only assumption was outrageous.
Would Sid really take this so far? Would he really exaggerate the significance of this bet so much?
“What—what is he talking about?” Jungkook asked Minjun. “Your parents?”
Minjun simply hung his head, his knuckles turning white from the force of his grip on the keys in his hand. He didn’t say anything, and Jungkook knew it was true.
Sid was threatening Minjun’s family—the jobs of his parents, both of whom depended on Sid’s mother. Without her, they would still have enough money to survive, even keep and maintain all of their real estate, but Sid’s mother had the power to blacklist them from the industry. And she would, Jungkook knew. She’d do anything for her only child.
Sid was using Minjun’s parents as leverage for something as stupid as a fucking bet that Minjun did not even make. A bet that was never supposed to even get this far.
That was the point he was proving.
Jungkook narrowed his eyes. He recognised what this was really about, these tireless attempts to establish superiority.
Sid was the great-grandson of one of the top conglomerates in the country. The only downside to his life was that his inheritance came from his mother’s side of the family. As a result, he was taken less seriously among his family—because the Old Money world that he lived in functioned only within their favourite -isms: sexism and racism.
Sid was no one in the eyes of his relatives. So, he was going to do everything to make sure he was someone here.
“That’s what I thought,” Sid barked at Minjun’s submissive silence. He turned to Jungkook. “So, what’s it going to be? You admit your defeat now, or do you want to delay it? I’m generous enough to wait. I know I’ll win in the end. I always do.”
He always had a point to prove to an audience that listened. And his audience was here, in this room.
But Jungkook was done listening.
“You know what?” he said. He glanced at Minjun—who stood there helplessly and miserably—before looking back at Sid and spitting, “I’m not going to fucking entertain you anymore. Fuck you.”
Without waiting for either of them to respond, Jungkook stormed out of Sid’s room, slamming the door behind him. He didn’t even consider the possible complaints from other hotel guests who probably heard him throw the door open fifteen minutes ago, and then leave again in an equally furious manner.
Blind to everything around him, he marched over to your room and knocked on your door before he lost the angry courage.
He needed you. He’d always had.
You appeared surprised when you opened the door and saw him in the hall.
“Hey,” he said, looking somehow very small, despite his frame filling the entire doorway. “Can I come in? We should talk.”
You watched him for a minute.
The two of you had just had your first fight about your relationship since you started working together and decided to leave everything that had happened between you in the past.
Neither of you knew if this argument was a good thing (closure?) or a bad thing (a final fight in your long list of fights).
But maybe today had to be the day you found out.
“Yeah,” you decided, stepping aside to let him in. “We should.”
Hello! I hope you are doing okay :)
I’ve just recently found your blog and must say that I’ve definitely enjoyed your dialogue prompts!
Are you okay with writing requests? In case it’s fine for you, could you please consider writing a dialogue where two characters have to stay some kind of a hotel, because one of them is too sick and feverish to travel?
No pressure, I understand if you don’t want to write this!
Sincerely yours, anon with whumperflies.
Anonnnnnn, I know you said dialogue but I got carried away. Obviously. Hope you enjoy. This has been my favorite to do so far. You keep requesting. I’ll keep writing. Your prompts are good. ;)
Hotel Hell
“How you doing?”
W shivered unresponsively underneath the jacket he’d donned as his makeshift blanket. C hoped that meant that he’d finally drifted off.
“I’m alright,” came the quiet voice.
“Still feel nauseous?”
There was the sound of a thick swallow. “Yep.”
C burned away their nervous energy by drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. “Can I…do anything?”
“Pull over.”
“What?”
“Pull-“
W had the back of one hand pressed firmly against his lips. The other hand fumbled with the door handle of the still moving car.
“Wait, wait, wait I’m going! Give me a second!”
W was exiting the car even as it slid to a stop on the side of the highway. C followed soon after. The spray of vomit trailed from the car to a large tree where W stood doubled, steadying himself with one hand on the trunk and the other braced on his knee. He heaved again, bringing up another slough of last night’s partially digested dinner.
C stayed by the car. Doesn’t make sense for them both to be puking. “You good?” C called. A shaky hand returned a thumbs up although W remained doubled. “Okay. I’m uh…I’m gonna sit in the car. Just…take your time.”
It was 10 minutes before W shut the door behind them again. “Sorry,” he mumbled.
“It’s not a problem.”
W sighed and leaned his head against the cool glass. “It feels like a problem.”
“Hey.” C pulled W’s arm so that he could see his eyes. “Really. It’s-shit.”
“It is shit.”
“No not that. I mean you.” He pressed the back of his fingers to W’s temple. “You’re burning up. Why didn’t you tell me you had a fever?”
W shrugged. “I just want to get there.”
“Well it’s not happening today. We’re gonna stop somewhere for the night so you can sleep it off…-in a bed,” he finished, sensing W’s impending objections. “I’m not pulling over every 10 minutes for you to puke. Sorry about it.”
It was almost an hour before they reached the motel that would be their home for the night. C pulled into a parking spot underneath a street light that was long burnt out. “That’s promising,” he muttered, then noticed the paint peeling off the walls. “Great.” He shut the car door behind him and heard W do the same. “At least it still has all four walls right?” He glanced over at W who had his head resting on the car. “Hey, you alright?”
W swallowed a few times. “Yeah but…I think I’m gonna th-row up again.”
“Okay just…hang out alright? I’ll go grab the key and be right back.”
For a motel that barely registered on the not haunted list they sure required a lot of information from their “guests”. “For the security of all,” they’d told him. Here’s a thought: streetlights that work.
Fifteen minutes and a quarter of a century later he rejoined W in the parking lot. “Sorry it took so long. They wanted my grandmother’s maiden name before they’d give me a room key.”
“C.”
“Yeah?”
“I think something’s really wrong, man.”
“…okay. Like what?”
“I don’t know. I’m really dizzy. I’m freaking out.”
“Don’t freak out. You’re alright. Let’s just get in the room. You can drink some water. Eat something small. You’ll feel better.” He took W by the arm and guided him towards their ground floor room. W leaned against the wall as C pulled out the room key, but C could definitely see him swaying. He fumbled with the lock. Who has manual keys at motels anymore?
W was swallowing hard and breathing harder. He stared at a single fixed point on the sidewalk, but didn’t appear to be looking at anything. He stumbled sideways and C dropped the keys in an attempt to catch his arm. Then, without warning, W retched again. He tried to cover his mouth with his hand, but the vomit won. It spilled out onto his shirt and dripped down his arm, splattering onto his pants and shoes as it hit the ground in one sickening wave followed by a second. “I’m so-,” he choked as another heave brought up a thick slurry into the hand that he’d forgotten to move.
“Jesus.”
“I’m so sorry.” W was a mess with vomit covered clothes and tears streaming down his cheeks. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” His voice hitched again, but he only spat out bile.
“Don’t be. You’re-yeah-something’s wrong.” He pushed open the door and held it with his foot. “Do you think you’re done for a second?”
W waited a beat, then nodded.
“Can you walk straight?”
“I think so.”
“Okay so we’re gonna have to burn those clothes. Just take them off and while you take a shower I’ll run down to the 24 hour store we passed on the way in and see if I can find you…something…to help all this. Are you gonna be okay for a few?”
“Yeah,” he nodded. “Yeah I’m okay.”
“Okay. Fifteen minutes.”
“Fifteen minutes.”
Twenty-three minutes later (why is everyone so slow in this town??) C was working the finicky door key again. W opened it for him and his pale skin immediately stood out against the lamp lit room. “You’d make a good ghost.”
“I would’ve been one if you’d taken much longer.”
W rolled his eyes, but was relieved to hear some sarcasm come back from the dead. “This was all they had.” He threw W a pair of basketball shorts and a plain white t-shirt.
“It’s fine.”
“I also got a thermometer, Tylenol, and Dramamine.” He laid each item out on the bed in succession.
“Dramamine? Isn’t that for like seasickness?”
“We’re close enough to the water.”
W took the pill bottles to the bathroom sink where he downed them with questionable tap water out of a plastic cup. He grimaced at the flavor and tossed the cup into the trash can.
“I also got you,” C rummaged in the grocery bag, “Everyone’s favorite. Peanut butter crackers.”
“Mmm,” W shook his head. “Mm-mm. Nope. Can’t do it.”
“You gotta eat something.”
“It. Won’t. Stay. Down. Were you not outside half an hour ago?”
W’s cheeks tinged with the slightest red. C pretended to not see. “Alright we’ll give the meds a minute to sink in. Then you’re trying them. I paid three bucks for these.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
“…three dollars?”
“Yeah it’s the only store in this godforsaken town. They know they got you.” C opened up the boxed thermometer and tested it on himself. “Good news. I’m fine.”
“Fantastic.”
“I knew you’d be excited. Stay still.” C held the thermometer up to W’s forehead. “102.2. Damn…”
W crashed onto the bed and fell over sideways. He groaned.
“What?”
“What was in those pills you gave me? Whole room’s spinning…did you drug me?”
“Yeah I roofied your tap water.”
“I’m not putting out.”
“Uh yeah please keep in. Nobody wants to see that.”
W’s eyelids began to droop and C knew that the Dramamine had kicked in. He grabbed the bathroom trash can and put it beside the bed. “If you wake up before next week it’s right here alright?”
W’s eyes were almost shut, but he gave a small nod. C threw one of the blankets over him and walked over to his own bed. “Have a good coma.”
“Hey.”
C turned back. “Hey.”
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it.”
My entire summer was spent with the Cullens. Surprisingly enough, my mother didn’t protest it one bit, something about finally making friends. I was mostly monopolized by Jasper, but Alice had her fair share of stealing me away for girl’s nights with Esme and Rosalie.
Rosalie, talk about a tough nut to crack. I think at this point I’ve finally crested the mountain of hatred she feels towards her brothers’ “mortal liabilities” and I’m solidly in tolerable territory. She doesn’t outwardly mention her distaste anymore or avoid me like the plague, which I consider a definite win. I think Emmett is partially what wore her down besides Jasper’s lack of give a damn towards his sister’s opinions.
Befriending Alice has been as easy as breathing, she’s always there and might as well have Edward’s supernatural power of mind reading. I can tell her life has been lonely in the way she attaches herself to Bella and I, Rose isn’t the most social female and Esme is more of a mother figure than best friend. I’m grateful for her nonetheless, I’m not exactly flooded with friends myself - nor is whatever this thing is with Jasper an appropriate topic of conversation for anyone outside of this immediate circle.
Emmett has managed to become the older brother I wish I had and he takes that role incredibly serious for someone that’s always the comedic relief. Over the course of the last couple of months, I’ve figured out that he’s a big hugger, and a very good one at that. I’ve also noticed that he’s become my rock in a way - never backing down from a challenge, always hyping me up, and never passing judgement.
I still haven’t cracked the code for Edward. He’s quiet and shut off from the rest, not one for casual conversation or wasting time. And when he isn’t with Bella - well that’s wasting time in the worst way. Majority of our interactions are spent in comfortable silence, Jasper tells me it’s because I’m like a magnet in the way that my energy is calmer than most.
I like to think Jasper and I don’t make his family quite as nauseous as Edward and Bella do, but I know we have our moments… like his sisters insisting we sit apart for movie night because he most definitely cannot keep his hands to himself. The smug grin he had on his face along with his hands raised in surrender as his sisters berated him still makes me blush, damn him and his stupidly attractive smirk.
All summer long I’ve been waiting for the other shoe to drop, for him to realize that I’m human and he’s immortal, that I’m nothing in the grand scheme that is his life. It’s partially my fault for chickening out every time the topic of us rolls around, but my anxiety tends to get the better of me. God he is a patient man though, never pushing me and always in-tune to my feelings.
I’m absolutely head over heels for him but I can’t quite force those three little words of I love you past my lips. The confession simultaneously on the tip of my tongue and clogging up my throat.
Although he would disagree heavily, Jasper Hale is not a hard man to fall in love with. He struggles with his control from time to time, but when it comes to me - I can tell he’s different. He’s quiet in a way that’s patient and at-ease, instead of the closed-off way he was initially. His smile is softer around the edges, less forced than when he was trying for the sake of his adopted mother. His touch is instinct now, no longer robotic or unsure, but softer. He’s quicker to laugh, quicker to whisper sweet-nothings in my ear that make my cheeks hurt from smiling, quicker to reach for my hand when he needs an anchor.
I’ve never been more grateful for a split second of clumsiness on my first day at a new school.
Jasper
“A birthday party at your house?” Y/n asks, walking beside me before first period.
“Yes darlin’, I’m afraid my sister requires your attendance.” I continue to lead Y/n down the emptying hallway with a gentle hand on her back.
“I suppose I can spare you her wrath, but only if you pick me up tonight.” She glances up at me with a mischievous smile.
“Speak of the devil…” I mutter quietly while taking a deep breath, bracing myself for the quick footsteps approaching.
“I heard that!” Alice smacks the arm not around my girl. “I need your help.”
“Help with what?” Y/n asks quietly with a wrinkle in her beautiful brow, but I shake my head already knowing what my sister needs.
As Y/n and I stop at the bottom of the stairs, Edward and Isabella approach our small group as Alice vaults over the stair railing and skips forward in excitement, a neatly wrapped gift in her hands.
“Bella! Happy-”
“Shhh!” Bella stops her, the panic and embarrassment flooding from her almost drawing a laugh from me.
“-Birthday.” She finishes, quieter this time.
Bella flashes an exasperated look over Alice’s shoulder and I respond with a calming nod.
“Alice, didn’t I say no gifts?”
“You did, I didn’t.” My sister smarts back. “I’ve already seen you open it and guess what? You love it!”
Bella scoffs exasperated, but Alice interrupts her before she can object.
“You’re going to wear it tonight, our place.” At Bella’s hesitation she adds, “C’mon, please? It’ll be fun!”
Taking my que, I pull away her hesitation and replace it with a touch of acquiescence, gently in an effort to be inconspicuous.
“Okay, alright.” Powerless to my emotional regulation.
I notice a smile quirk the corner of Edward’s mouth, my brother exuding amusement - humored by our efforts to persuade his girlfriend.
A squeal of happiness leaks from my sister, “Great! I’ll see you at seven!” Spinning in our direction to make a quick getaway, we’re stopped by Bella.
“Jasper! No fair with the mood control thing.”
“Sorry Bella, Happy-“ but I let the sentiment die on my tongue at her exasperated look. “Never mind.”
Pushing my girl and gripping Alice by the elbow, I usher them away and towards class. I may be immortal, but a smart man knows when to let the women in his life win.
Waiting upstairs per Alice’s request to keep Bella company while she finished the final touches on decorations, roping my… Jasper into helping. Wondering over to where Edward and Bella are discussing a painting, I squint at who it contains.
“Is that, Carlisle?” Bella points out.
“Yeah, he lived with them for a few decades. He described them as refined, no respect for humans of course, but respect for the arts and the sciences at least.” He pauses, glancing between us before returning his eyes to the painting. “And the law, above all, the law.”
A shiver runs down my spine at the eerie way he explains the ancient vampires.
“Vampires have laws?” Bella’s tone takes on a rhetorical tone, but Edward answers nonetheless.
“Not very many. And only one that’s regularly enforced.”
“What is it?” The question comes from both of us this time.
“That we keep the existence of our kind a secret. We don’t make spectacles of ourselves. And we don’t kill conspicuously.” A sliver of panic runs through me as Jasper’s past flashes through my mind. “Unless of course you want to die.”
“You gotta stop talking about that. I can’t even think of someone hurting you.” Bella quietly and assertively tells him.
“Bella, the only thing that can hurt me is you.” As Edward turns to her, I gravitate towards the door to give them privacy. “I don’t have anything else to be afraid of.”
“That’s not true.”
“Victoria,” My mind immediately flashes back to the ballet studio, “She’ll come for me one day, Alice will see when she decides and we’ll be ready.”
Why had I not thought of that? Of course she’d come for us, the Cullens killed James because of us.
“I can protect you, if you change me.”
I try to contain my gasp, trying not to be obvious that I overheard her request. Her request to be changed.
“It’s time! It’s time, it's time, it's time!” Alice bounds into the room and I slip down the stairs before she can tug Bella away from Edward.
Jasper with eyebrows furrowed smooths a hand across my jaw to cradle my head as I step into his arms, sensing my clashing emotions. Alice interrupts him before he could ask why by bounding down the stairs and joining us.
I spin around to lean my back against Jasper as Edward leads Bella down to the living room, Carlisle and Esme are the first to greet them.
“Sorry about all this, we tried to reign Alice in.” Carlisle jokingly apologizes.
“Like that’s even possible.” Bringing Bella in for a hug with a sweet smile, “Happy birthday, Bella.”
Jasper’s hands find my hips and squeeze, I can tell he won’t let earlier go so easily, he cares too much for that.
Alice blindsides Bella with a flash of a camera, “Found it in your bag, mind?” She asks after snapping a picture of her and Edward together.
Emmett slides past us with a mischievous glint in his expression, causing Jasper to groan as his brother slides up next to Edward.
Nudging him, “Dating an older woman, hot.” Emmett teases.
Edward elbows him right back sharply to shut him up and I wince at the force.
“What?” He tries to play it off with innocence, but we all know he’s rather full of shit and I crack a smile at his antics.
Rosalie chooses then to rip the bandaid off and give Bella the first present of the evening, a small silver package. “A necklace. Alice picked it out.” Short and to the point, she steps away to rejoin Emmett causing Bella to smile.
Meeting our eyes across the room, she waves a greeting to Jasper that he returns silently.
Alice grabs a medium-sized present with a bow, “This one’s from Emmett.”
Bella shakes the suspiciously empty box and I try to cover my laugh at the look of confusion on her face.
“Already installed it in your truck.” He’s vibrating like an excited puppy, “Finally a decent sound system for that piece of crap-”
“Hey, don’t hate the truck.”
“Open Esme and Carlisle’s!” Alice thrusts the envelope into her hands.
“Just something to brighten your day.” Carlisle tells her as Esme steps forward.
“You’ve been looking kind of pale lately.” Esme hints with a smile.
Struggling to open the envelope, she finally tears through the paper.
But it isn’t the only thing that tears.
The droplet of blood that drips down her finger halts the breath in my lungs and the world feels as though it’s standing still. That is, until a thin arm wraps around my waist and my vision blurs.
hiii can you do a story about after a long mission, Hunter and Fem reader are about to make out but Omega interrupts and just keeps asking about what they were doing
I’ve been dreaming of this thing for a long time
HI! Thanks for the ASK!!!
Sorry this one took awhile. Been working a LOT lately.
But, here it is! Hope you like!!!
"LITTLE INTERRUPTIONS"
HUNTER X FEM READER ASK FIC
Background: This is set after Tantiss when the remaining characters settle on Pabu. My headcannon is they take off for missions to help Rex and the Clone Rebellion. Omega stays with Auntie Phee who keeps her busy with treasure hunting and (mostly) out of danger. She gets to still be a child with fun adventures.
Word count: 1K
Warnings: Swearing, mention of male erection, implied inevitable sexual activity
“Movies over. Time for bed, Omega!” Hunter promptly popped up off the sofa, nudging her to get up.
“Aww...I’m not tired. Can we watch a couple holoshorts? THEN I’ll go to bed.”
“Nope, off you go.” Finally dislodging her off the edge. “Brush your teeth first.”
“Jeez...why are you in a hurry???”
I couldn’t help but giggle at her persistence and sass. Little smarty pants. She suspected something was up. Usually, Hunter would let her linger a bit longer after the show was over.
Hunter and I have been seeing each other in-between missions. Him with Clone Force 99 and me with my little band of Rebel Cell “Missfits” (an unruly group of women from planets all over the galaxy). Usually, our squads worked separately and had never heard of each other until meeting on a mission planned by Rex.
He and I hit it off right away.
From then on, we conveniently kept running into their squad. Even when we didn’t necessarily need help. And at times when we DEFINITELY needed it. They saved our asses on quite a few missions.
The Missfits never forgot CF99’s generosity. We saved their cute butts too. After all, we support our allies.
Eventually I just came out and confronted Hunter. And in front of both squads. Sometimes a woman’s gotta put a man in the hot seat to see what he says.
“Hmm...we meet AGAIN! Are YOU keeping tabs on us?” Stated it loudly while staring him down...giving my devil may care expression.
Hunter tried to hide his amazement at my bold statement. Keeping a neutral expression. He really did. But I could see the small barely perceptible grin at the corners of his sweet mouth.
Kriff, I like to watch him lose his composure! Letting go of the control he tries so hard to keep in check...
Wrecker couldn’t contain himself, slapping his brother’s shoulder HARD. “He’s keeping tabs on YOU! MAHAAA!!!”
Hunter turned three shades of red while OUR entire squad erupted in wolf whistles and cat calls. The ladies COULDN’T let THAT go without making a big deal out of it.
Of course, Wrecker’s statement was partially true. It was no secret he, Echo and Crosshair had a thing for the ladies in our squad.
Then things got sticky with The Empire and we had to lay low for a while. Being seen together in the same place at the same time proved too risky. Our squads parted for quite a few months. We missed our men. They missed their women.
But I digress. Back to Movie Night...
Little Miss Omega really had our number. She glanced from Hunter to me.
Surely, she suspected SOMETHING, just unsure of WHAT.
“Goodnight kiddo. We’ll plan to do something fun and stay up later another night. With or without your brother.” I reached out with my foot and playfully kicked Hunter’s leg.
He’s giving me that hungry look he gets when I’m sassy and physical with him...
Omega smirked “Goodnight Y/N.”
Then off she went to brush her teefies.
Hunter settled back on the sofa, slid up close, arm up on the back of the couch around me. He expertly turned off the lamp on the table behind us. Smooth.
We stared deeply into each other’s eyes in the semidarkness of the holoprojector.
“Missed you. All I thought about for months.” His smoky voice so low. So deep. So...sexy.
“Mmm...did ya now...”
Maker, he’s so beautiful and sweet it makes my heart ache. Gonna tear him up tonight...quietly of course...we don’t want to wake up...
“OMEGA! Go back to bed.” Hunter, doing his best to NOT sound annoyed. Didn’t even move from his position on the sofa. Still gazing in my eyes.
The tiny, barely perceptible shadow in the hallway turns and scurries back to bed.
“Damn Hunter. You’ve got kid radar.”
“Not the only thing I’ve got.” He sensually runs his hands up my arms, shoulders, neck, caresses the sides of my face...
...we close the gap between each other. Gently touching noses, foreheads. My arms slide up his stomach, chest...finally gripping his strong shoulders...and just as our lips meet...
“HOLY KRIFF!” I just ‘bout lept off the sofa!!!
Omega stood 5 ft in front of us...watching...
“Hunter...did YOU teach her to be THAT quiet???”
“What did I TELL YOU?!” He’s trying to be patient. Trying REALLY hard.
“I’m thirsty...” Her expression is uncertain. She’s a good kid and certainly not trying to be disobedient.
“You know where the sink is.” He’s the kind of guy who would get the water for her.
But he CAN’T right now. I can feel his hardness against my thigh. Hunter shoots me an uneasy expression.
He anticipates she’ll ask to be tucked into bed next...and he CANNOT support that action right now.
I quietly giggle.
He slowly shakes his head at me.
Omega bounces into the kitchen and we can hear the sink running.
The tap turns off.
Sounds of a tiny person drinking.
The rest of the water gets dumped into the sink.
Clink of the glass being set on the counter.
She’s quickly back in front of us.
He inhales with the anticipation of her request.
I’m watching all of this with bated breath...ready to bust out laughing. It’s NEVER a dull moment in The Batch household.
“Will you tuck me...?”
“OMEGA!” She jumps out of her skin.
Echo emerges from the darkened hallway. A serious expression on his face, and a contrast to the #1 MOM t-shirt he’s wearing with his sweatpants.
“Leave them alone and come to bed.” His expression softens. NOBODY can stay mad at Omega.
“But...” She’s stalling.
“Now, young lady.” Echo raises an eyebrow and holds his hand out to her.
Omega glances back to Hunter.
“Go on with Echo. We’ll talk more tomorrow. I know you have questions.”
She nods and takes Echo’s hand. Before they disappear down the hall, Echo glances over his shoulder and winks at us.
Hunter and I wait...
The door to Echo’s room closes. Clearly, he’s running interference for us tonight. Providing privacy. Otherwise, Omega will keep sneaking out.
Waiting a minute more...Hunter cocks his head like a dog...listening...
While reaching over and pressing a button on the holo-remote. Slow, sensuous Jizz music starts to play.
Then that handsome man turns back to me with an intensity in his eyes that makes my whole-body ache.
“Now...where were we?”
miss me ⁰
huh yunjin x fem!reader / 2k
Tumblr media
summary. — conversations you had with jennifer, or, rather, yunjin, before her debut as a member of le sserafim.
warnings. — drinking / mentions of produce 48 + iz*one / implied kissing / requited yet unrequited love. / angst w no happy ending. / may or may not become a series
Tumblr media
“do you miss it?”
you hum absentmindedly, not paying as much attention to the girl beside you compared to the essay you were writing. you soon regret it, though, because not a second later, you feel her foot hit yours. hard.
you weren’t the type who liked giving satisfaction to others, though, so even though it hurt like hell, all you said was a monotone, “ow.”
jennifer has always been able to see through your facade, though, so all she did was roll her eyes and mumble something about how you “weren’t any fun” under her breath before speaking at a normal volume again. “answer my question, yn.”
playing dumb, you tilt your head. “what question?” you asked, playing dumb, much to her chagrin.
“you-“ she starts but cuts herself off, shaking her head. “urgh, i asked if you missed it.”
“missed what?”
this time, you weren’t playing dumb, genuinely confused by the girl’s words.
“y’know, the show.” she pursed her lips. “the one we did in korea?”
“ah… produce forty-eight?” jennifer nods. “no, i don’t.” you pause before asking a tentative, “do you?”
she sighs, dropping her head into her arms and barely missing the keyboard of her laptop. “maybe,” comes the muffled response, followed quickly by a, “is that bad?”
“no.” she raises her head, high enough so that she could make eye contact with you with only one eye but low enough that a majority of her face was hidden. “it isn’t.”
“why?”
you raise an eyebrow. “why would it be bad?” you ask her, feeling partially confused and mostly curious. “it’s your feelings, not mine. i don’t have any say on them.”
“but…” jennifer trails off, remembering just how much hate you got on the show, during and after your elimination. it’s probably not the best idea to mention it, though, she decides to say something else. “it was just so bad for you. the diets, the practice, the way the other trainees treated you…”
you shrug. “that’s just how the idol industry works.” you say, making her frown. “and it’s not like they treated the other foreign trainees any different.”
“still, it was rough for you.” she insisted, pushing herself off of her stomach and onto her shins. “i-“
“it’s fine if you enjoyed being on the show, jennifer.” you interrupt, giving her a frown of your own. “you are the most idol-esque-“
“idol-esque?” she asked, amused. “what does-“
you press a finger to her lips, glaring at her in a way that made her stomach churn, and if you noticed her cheeks changing from her natural skin tone to a more pink-ish color, well, you didn’t comment on it.
“shush.” you mutter, frown deepening. “i’m talking so you need stay quiet and listen to me.” had you not been more focused on getting your point across, you would have cringed at just how… fanfic-like your words sounded. “got it?”
intimidated and suddenly feeling a little too warm, jennifer nods, gesturing for you to continue with her eyes.”
“as i was saying…” you cough, embarassed as you pulled your finger away from the girl’s lips. “you are the most idol-esque person i’ve ever met. just because no one voted for you–they’re assholes by the way–doesn’t mean that you weren’t built for the stage.”
if she was blushing before, then jennifer was for sure red now. “you… you mean it?”
“mhm.”
“that’s…” she blinks, laughing softly out of both embarassment and happiness. “that’s… no one has ever told me that before.”
“that’s ‘cuz everyone’s stupid.” you mutter, pulling the girl down back onto the bed and into your arms. “i mean it, huh jennifer. you’ll be a star one day, i just know it.”
she tenses a little in your arms, both surprised and a little flustered, but she settles into them quickly, wrapping her arms around your waist and sighing at just how warm you were.
“a star, huh?”
Tumblr media
“i miss how we used t’be.”
jennifer has always gotten sentimental whenever she drank a little too much, and, while you weren’t necessarily sober, you certainly weren’t drunk enough to want to listen to whatever depressed ramble she was about to go on.
so, with that said, you finish the can of beer in your hand and chuck it into the back of the car. the resulting clang! told you that maybe the two of you had drank a little too much, but that was okay. tonight was supposed to be ‘black out drunk’ night anyway.
“i miss how clos’we were.” she continued to mumble, shifting so that she could sit up properly in her chair, only to slump again. “the show… ruined us.”
“it did.” you acknowledge, bobbing your head absentmindedly up and down. “but i think…” you trail off, blinking hard when you feel the world spin a little too hard. “but i think,” you repeat, voice more steady, “it ruined you mo’than it ruined m’.”
“it did.” jennifer agreed, her head making a quiet thud. upon making contact with the car window. where her breath hit the cold glass, a circle of coddensation grew and shrank with her exhales and inhales. “but tha’s only ‘cuz you didn’ really care for th’show.”
“i didn’t.” you bowed your head and pinched the bridge of your nose. god, just the thought of the headache you’d get later, once you woke ip sober, was enough to give you a headache now. “i only joined ‘cuz you didn’t want to be alone.”
jennifer snorts. “i knew that.” she said, and it isn’t much of a surprise to you that she did. she’s always known everything about you. “i guess is’ fitting that we ended up gettin’ eliminated together, huh?”
“rank twe’y-s’x,” you slur out, one finger pointing–touching–the other girl, you motor skills getting worse and worse as the alcohol began to take affect, “and rank th’rty.” you point at yourself.
she sighs, taking your hand and absentmindedly playing with it. “d’you ever wonder what would’ve happ’ned if we actually got in?”
“to iz*one?”
“what else?”
you hum. “n’really.”
she too hums, nodding her head sagely. “you didn’t want to be an idol to begin with, so i guess that makes sense.”
“you’re upset.” you note, the corner of your lips tugging into a frown. “did you really want to be in iz*one?”
“yeah.” jennifer looks up at you. “‘s that bad?”
you vaguely remember her saying something like that maybe a week or so earlier, but with how inebriated you were, you couldn’t remember why.
“no.” you say simply, and she hums and nods again. she’s been doing that a lot as of late.
from the corner of your eye, you could see her head turn to look at the clock displayed on the infotainment system–why was it even called that, and how did you know it was called that?–above your console. “it’s almost midnight.” she notes.
you blink, the sudden topic change giving you whiplash. “huh?”
“midnight.” she repeats. “‘s new years.” she pauses, reaching back and taking the last beer can from it’s case before opening it, a loud sshhh! following her words. “remember?”
right. new years. that was why the two of you were in your car, drunk out of your minds past the time you would normally drink. because of new years.
as if realizing just how cold it was, you shiver, tugging your blanket tighter around your body.
“you’re cold.”
you scoff, rolling your eyes. “no shit, sherlock.”
“i know something that can warm you up.” she murmurs, ignoring your harsh words. “would you like it?”
perhaps if you weren’t as drunk as you were, you would’ve noticed the way jennifer was looking at you or, more specifically, your lips. and maybe if you weren’t so drunk, you would’ve realized that the girl was inching closer and closer to you and your lips.
that said, you’re not sure if you would’ve cared if you were sober.
humming, she takes another sip of her beer before placing the can down and taking your neck and-
oh.
“happy new years.”
oh.
“…happy new years.”
Tumblr media
“would you miss me if i left?”
you blink, only sparing a glance at the girl to your right before looking back onto the road. your janky headlights had little effect on the seemingly eternal darkness around you, and you didn’t want to accidentally hit a pole, another car, or, worse, an animal, just because you weren’t paying attention.
“not really.”
jennifer, partially offended and mostly just drunk, lets out an indignant huff. “rude.”
you shrug as best as you could with both your hands gripping the steering wheel tightly. “it’s the truth.” you say simply, wincing when you feel the girl pinch you in retirbution for your words. “you haven’t done anything worthy enough of missing.”
“you’d miss talking to me,” she insists. “you’d miss walking with me around the city-“
“you drag me out to do that.”
maybe it’s because she’s drunk or just doesn’t care anymore, but jennifer ignores you instead of picking a fight like she usually would have done. “you’d miss the way i kiss you whenever we got too drunk to care about the consequences.”
you tense, or, rather, freeze. she had never once mentioned it, sober or drunk, so to for her to bring it up now…
“maybe.” you murmured, “you’re a good kisser.”
at your words, the girl preens and laughs haughtily. “why, thank you. it comes with the experience of kissing millions of women and men.”
“millions?” you raised a brow.
“okay, well maybe not millions, but a lot.” she huffs. “i’m pretty sure i’ve kissed every girl at our old school.”
“all of the girls you’ve kissed were either questioning if they were gay, doing it to get someone’s attention–usually a guy–or just wanted to get their first kiss done and over with.” you deadpanned. “and sometimes it was all three.”
“details, schetails.” jennifer says dismissively, waving a hand at you and nearly stabbing you in the eye with her long nails. “point is, ‘m a good kisser.”
“you are.” you couldn’t even disagree. jennifer was a good kisser and you’re pretty sure that on your short list of random girls you’ve kissed before, she was number one.
you don’t think you’ve ever disagreed with yunjin.
“so you would miss me, right?” she asked again. “for the kisses.”
“for the kisses.” you repeated, nodding.
Tumblr media
“would you miss me if i went to korea?”
you hum, considering the question. “maybe. but don’t worry, i’ll get over it.”
“‘i’ll get over it’?” she repeats, sounding suspicious. “shouldn’t you be saying, ‘if you really did go, i’d probably get over it’?”
you snort, flopping onto your bed and sighing. “what, did you get that from a fanfiction or something?” you asked dryly, raising an eyebrow even though you knew she wouldn’t see it. “never though you’d be the type to say what you read.”
“answer the question, yn.”
“there is no ‘if’ if you’re already going to korea.” you mutter, pursing your lips. “i saw the email. from source-whatever entertainment.”
you’re pretty sure you sound bitter but you couldn’t bring yourself to care. not when… whatever this was was happening.
“you looked through my stuff?” she asked, sounding half annoyed and half agitated. “yn, that’s-”
“you left your laptop open for anyone and everyone to see.” you interrupted. “during our sleepover. it was like you wanted me to see.”
she goes silent, and vaguely, you could hear an announcement calling for anyone boarding a flight to korea.
“why didn’t you ask me to stay?” she asked, her voice so quiet that you could barely hear it.
“would you have stayed if i asked you to?” you ask in response, heart clenching when all that followed your qeustion was silence rather than the clamoring you had expected–wanted to hear.
there are a million things you want to say to the girl on the other end of the call but you can’t bring yourself to say any of them so all you say in response to her response, or lack thereof, is, “you… you should probably go. that’s your flight they’re calling, isn’t it?”
“it-” she coughs, clearing her throat. if you strained your ears, you could hear her do the quietest sniffle in the world. “it is.”
“i guess this is it then.” you clear your throat, hoping to any god listening that your voice wouldn’t crack. “good bye, yunjin.”
beep.
One Little Thing, A Ring Part V | Mammon x Reader
Tumblr media
1.2K Words | GN! Reader | CW: Slight angst
Mammon blushed as you held him in your arms. He wiped the dried tears from his cheeks and tried to straighten his hair. You both sat in silence until Mammon couldn’t bear it and lied, “nothin’s wrong.”
You glared at him and he shifted awkwardly and looked up at the hanging Christmas lights instead. You followed his gaze and came to a partially true conclusion.
“Oh, is it holiday stress?”
Mammon decided this was technically the truth and he crossed his arms and nodded still blushing. Embarrassed he’d cried in his sleep. What was there to cry about…this was everything he wanted. But was he what you wanted? He had to be right?
You could tell Mammon’s mind was swirling with anxious thoughts and hugged his side. His breath hitched in his throat and he leaned his head on yours.
“Let me know when you’re ready to talk about it…” you whispered and he nodded.
It was quiet again and as soon as you turned the lights back off Mammon blurted out the question he’d been dying to ask. “Why do you love me?”
Your eyes shot open and you stared at him in amazement. “What!?” You gasped and he flinched in shock. He hadn’t expected that big of a reaction.
“What do you mean? Don’t I always tell you, all the time?” You asked, concerned your absence with work was taking a toll on him—he was always pretty sensitive, and as hard as he tried not to, he wore his heart on his sleeve. It broke your heart to see his conflicted expression and you began to panic.
Why was he thinking these things now of all times? You hoped this wouldn’t ruin everything and bit your lip anxiously.
Mammon was quick to assure you that you’d done nothing wrong. He quickly got out of bed and started pacing the floor, trying to get rid of his excess nerves.
“Like…I mean…I ain’t rich…like I’m tryin’ but…” he sighed and finally let it all loose. “Why’d you choose me? Im happy ya did obviously but like, I’m not a prince like Diavolo, I’m not a trillionaire or whatever he is like Mephistopheles. I don’t control time, I’m not the strongest brother, I don’t summon a giant ass fish-snake-thing, I can’t charm entire crowds, I’m not a famous author or heaven’s greatest warrior. Hell, I can’t even cook, and half the time I clean things it ends up worse! Aren’t ya gonna regret it?” You gasped and he held a hand over his chest.
A tear slipped down your cheek and he froze, pale as a ghost.
“Mammon…I will never, ever regret you.”
Mammon’s heart lifted slowly as you continued. “I do not love you for money. I do not love you for power. I do not love you for fame. I don’t love you for a home-cooked meal or a journey through time.” You wrapped your arms around him and leaned into his exposed chest. “Mammon. I love you because you’re kind. You care far more than people realize. You’re both extremely adorable and incredibly handsome. You always think about how I feel first. You might steal your brothers’ things but you’re also the first to jump to their defense and put yourself in harm’s way. You are loyal to your family and your friends. I love you because you are amazing. You’re my greatest support, my strongest ally, my most cherished friend. Everyone else is family to me, cherished family…but I don’t love them like I love you.”
Mammon was sniffling and holding back his tears as he hugged you tightly.
“I-I’m sorry,” he practically wailed.
“What? Why are you sorry?” You asked, dumbfounded.
“The truth is I’m stressed…I’m stressed because,” he blushed and decided to confess what he’d found. “Cause I went snooping through your room and I found the wishlist you made…and I wanted to get ya the perfect ring but…”
Your eyes widened in shock as he groveled.
“But I’ve always been too damn nervous to ask ya what ya like best and even though I’m breaking my back for Diavolo and Barbatos, I definitely won’t have enough money to get you the perfect ring for you! I can’t even figure out what would be the perfect ring because you look good in all of them,” he blushed madly and the room was silent.
You stepped back from Mammon and turned around to head to your bed.
“Huh-Wha?” Mammon was astonished you’d just walk away and became nervous he’d said too much.
“I’m sorry I know I shouldn’t have snooped—“
You held the piece of paper to his face that he had tucked back into the envelope and hidden back underneath your bed.
“This is my wishlist?” You asked and he nodded shyly.
Again there was silence until you shook your head and began to laugh. Your laughter grew louder and you fell onto the bed, clutching your stomach.
Mammon was bright red. He’d never felt so embarrassed.
“H-Hey! What’s the big idea laughin’ at me!”
You shook your head and wiped the tears out of your eyes. “Oh, Mammon…” you giggled and reached back under the bed. You pulled out the gifts you’d wrapped for him.
“Mammon,” you said, making sure he was paying attention.
“Y-yeah?”
“That wasn’t my wishlist.”
Mammon froze, “h-huh!?” He hid his face in his hands. He couldn’t believe he really thought you were ready to tie the knot.
You grabbed Mammon’s hands and he slowly took them away to see you kneeling in front of him.
“It was my checklist,” you clarified and his eyes widened. “I was planning on waiting until Christmas Day but…”
Mammon let out a loud gasp and his hands shook as you held up a small velvet box.
“Mammon…will you make me the happiest person in all the realms and marry me?”
Mammon’s floodgates open and his lip quivered. He nodded enthusiastically and leaned into your arms. The box fell from your hand as he hugged you on the floor.
“Yes! Yes of course I will!”
You laughed excitedly and hugged him tightly. You felt his small wings flap in excitement and stayed there on the floor frozen in time.
Minutes passed and Mammon had finally calmed his heart. He sat back up and pulled you with him. He crawled to reach the box and opened it back up to see the shining golden ring inside embroidered with diamonds.
“Shit…how’d ya even afford this beauty?”
You laughed, “That’s why I’ve been working so hard lately too.”
Mammon chuckled that you’d both had the same objective this entire time and he hugged you again. “Here,” you declare, taking the box back. “Let me put it on your finger.”
Mammon nodded and his wings flapped as you slid the ring onto his finger. It was a little big but with a few words of sorcery, it fit like a dime.
Mammon grinned, blushing madly, and began laughing. He jumped to his feet and ran to the door beckoning you over, “c’mon! We’re showing everyone right now!”
“On one condition,” you grinned and he nodded, waiting to hear it. “Introduce me as your fiancé.”
He turned redder than he was before and nodded quickly as he grabbed your hand and pulled you out the door behind him.
“Hey idiots wake up! Guess what, you were so wrong!”
