Hot take: Pluralphobia is a systemic issue...
It's not always as visible or identifiable because it's often associated and mixed with other forms of discrimination but that doesn't make it any less real.
When you start recognizing it for what it is though, it's hard to ignore.
There is an ingrained sense in many cultures that being multiple in one body is wrong. The oldest form of pluralphobia is a fear of possessing spirits that are often seen as demonic entities. This view, I would argue, shaped a lot of the harmful and downright murderous stereotypes around DID when it became a disorder.
DID gave people a way to reinvent what was previously seen as demonic possession in the form of mental illness. But it all stems from the same root fears.
The fear of sharing your body with another. The terror of not having control.
The fear of people who are multiple. Because how can you trust somebody if you don't really know who is in control from moment to moment?
If you don't believe that this is a real issue, then I might ask you how many workplaces do you think would be perfectly okay with you identifying as plural and letting your headmates go by their chosen names whenever they are fronting?
I am willing to bet that while there may be a few out there that would be fine with this, many would not.
And while sysmeds are not the root cause of systemic pluralphobia, they do contribute to it when their whole ideology is centered around furthering pluralphobia, but only for the plurals they don't like.

So, we probably don't write enough to have any sort of standing, but a bit of prefacing: We are a medically diagnosed DID system. It was hell. Please take what we're writing as our own personal experience, but also as something to relate and/or help. We aren't trying to say like, you experience this versus you don't.
I don't really see a lot of people talking about the actual day to day struggle that is being a system. We have a routine we follow every day. We check out simply plural, change anyone's fronting stuff (if they didn't do it already, or if there's been a change), we get out of bed, get dressed, maybe eat something, and then the rest of the day is a perpetual "Did we do this thing? Obviously we did, it's done, but when?" And "Are we sure that we ate, put on clean clothes, and didn't forget anything?" It's a literal nightmare sometimes. We have a lot to do around the house every day, and we only get about half of it done.
We can't drive because we dissociate in the car, because car rides have always been a safe place for us. They always meant we were going *away* from the bad things. We can't really cook because a lot of us are in co-con, and argue about food, we always settle on extremely basic things everyone will eat. We can't really clean our bedroom either, the moment we do it's suddenly a mess again, and we've cleaned it, but it's been a week between cleaning it. Blink and you miss it.
As the front locked host, I can't get a lot of work done. I can't remember where I put important things down, I can't keep a schedule the way I'd like to for us, and I struggle every day remembering enough stuff to actually get anything for us done whatsoever. I can't keep things on the desk the way I need them to be (I'm autistic.) and I can't organize the room or our games or anything. It all drives me mad every day, and I can't right put into words how it all makes me feel. The co-con that we live in is.. interesting to say the least, a lot of passive influence, and a lot of indecision. I live our life, and I feel so fucking horrible for my headmates. They can't live their lives because they're stuck in our body. I get so many notes expressing these feelings, and I really do try my best to get people things. Some of my headmates I've managed to buy source accurate jewelry that they really wanted, or a particular item of clothing, it's not a lot, but it's the best I can do considering everything.
Every system out there that struggles with constant amnesia and time loss is valid. The ones that don't have it as bad as we might or others might are valid.
I'm really sorry this turned into a rant post >•<

Octocon is a new app for systems. It's traumacentric and made by traumagenic systems. It also has a discord bot that is a lot easier to use than pk in my opinion. You can also sync your app and the bot so you can edit alters in the app. The app is on android already and coming to IOS soon. Hope this helps some people :)
(If you're in a server, I recommend adding this bot as more people are starting to use it instead of pk and tupperbox)
Apologies for any confusion, turns out they have a neutral stance on non traumagenic systems.

shout out to systems who ...
have a hard time moving on from trauma
have persecutors they can't work with yet for their own safety
have an "unbelievably" large alter count (we have 1000+!!)
can't identify all of their alters because of disassociation/blurriness
can't communicate with their headmates properly
don't have specifically outlined roles for different alters
are nearly entirely fictives or just fictives
are victims of ramcoa trauma, which is real and valid!!
you all are amazing and deserve just as much love as anybody else!! (so does everyone who's not included here, i just wanted to point to some parts of the community that don't get recognized often or get a lot of hate <3)

Y'all, can we NOT fakeclaim for; "They have too many disorders!" And then they're nearly all caused by trauma. That's why they're a system in the first place, thanks!

Shoutout to systems who have their stuff hyper aestheticifed.
You aren't faking for having a system journal be prettified to the max.
You aren't faking for having your systems simply plural incredibly in depth, with unique aesthetics.
You aren't faking for having pluralkit be decked out with custom emotes and more.
That's sick as FUCK!! kudos for having the energy to do that, you're no less a system than those who don't do that.
PRO ENDOS & ENDOGENIC "SYSTEMS" DNI - THIS POST IS NOT FOR YOU!

I don't see this talked about very often, so shout out to the non-disordered systems who have disordered traits!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who have dissociation!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who experience dissociation between switches!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who struggle to ground themselves!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who experience dissociation which is totally unrelated to their plurality!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who have amnesia!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who have strong barriers between members, making it hard or impossible to share memories!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who are amnesiac due to a traumatic brain injury, rather than their plurality!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who forget things easily and have to write notes to remember!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who have to write notes to be able to communicate with other members!
Shout out to non-disordered systems who have both dissociation and amnesia!
And shout out to all the other non-disordered systems who have disordered traits and combinations of traits which I haven't mentioned here!
Too often, we see the assumption that dissociation and/or amnesia + system = disordered, and as a non-disordered system who experiences dissociation ourselves, it's somewhat frustrating to feel left out of the discussions. To be disordered, there needs to be the key element of clinically-significant distress.
So, to everyone from the most dissociated, amnesiac system out there who doesn't feel distress from their symptoms, to the system who has only occasional bouts of dissociation from sensory issues, to the system who has difficulty remembering things due to brain injury, this post goes out to you!

I am never going to buy into the pluralphobia-deniers argument that all pluralphobia is misdirected ableism when discrimination against systems often manifests in the form of religious persecution.
"You're only being discriminated against because people see you as having a disorder" really doesn't fly when the people discriminating against or abusing you are claiming you have a demon in you.
I am lucky enough to have avoided this, but that's probably because we don't flaunt our plurality offline, and it's not something that's really known about by people that aren't immediate family. And we are lucky enough to have a pretty supportive family where others haven't been.
But this doesn't change the fact that many systems have experienced persecution by people who did not, in fact, see them as having a mental disorder.
Fear and prejudice against multiples is far deeper (and older) than just being ableism.
And it's frustrating to keep having to come back to this conversation with people who want to deny that systems are actually discriminated against for being systems. For being plural. For being any flavor of multiple in one body.

Not to be taking syscourse jokingly, because its real issues within the community and it is causing a lot of harm...
But if endos and other nontraums can "choose to one day be a system"
Does that mean actual systems get to choose to be singlet?
LoOOK AT ME GUYS IM A SINGLET!! MY SEVERE AND EXTREME TRAUMA HAS BEEN CURED!!!
*gives a headmate a high five* WHOA!!

being a sysmedicalist bootlicker isn't punk. I'm so glad that I have DID and I'm traumagenic yet I'm also not making a mockery of punk history by parroting a piss-poor anti-research pro-psych imitation of real punk ideologies. #pluralpunk lets goooo
