APIs with Entity Framework Core: PUT
Continue the tutorial about APIs with Entity Framework Core and in particular how to implemente the #PUT to update a record with dependencies. #efcore #minimalapi #csharp
Continuing the topic, I want to give a complete example of minimal APIs in Blazor with Entity Framework Core with complex objects.I always struggle to have a solution working when my model has dependencies with other object. Here I show my test and my code. The code is in NET9. In the Microsoft documentation, there are some examples, but it is not complex enough. A few days ago, I posted about…

The Weaver
Ancient of Space, Weaver of Creation
I had this idea after literally going through her past posts (I literally went on a binge and read her entire masterlist) and just absolutely falling in love with her work @that-weird-thing-in-the-woods
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾

Danny's home dimension is destroyed after the GIW decides to try and bomb the Infinite Realms while he is in the Far Frozen for medical help, along with Tucker. They were the only ones to survive the destruction of their planet. Sam didn't survive; She was out of town that day and couldn't go with them. (so no one was there to stop them from doing something stupid), the bombing failed horribly because the Realms sort of just threw it back at them.
The Infinite Realms place is sentient in a way and has its own will. It allowed the portal that initially killed Danny to be created just so she could have her adopted son.
Danny is the Realms Chosen and is practically her baby. There is a noticible difference in the Realms when Danny returns to it from vacation like everything changes.
So basically, Danny has become the Ancient of Space, Weaver of Creation, the Child of the Realms, Father of Stars and Moon, Keeper of the World Tree, Keeper of the Balance, Protector of the Forgotten, Son of Time, The Great One, etc.
He went through a very long period of depression as everything he knew was gone with only a handful still surviving as most didn't. The Ancients or more specifically CW decides enough is enough and he needs to get stuff done
Clockwork has taken over his education along with Frostbite and Pandora and was literally forced feed a shit ton of information about ghost culture, healing, understanding his powers, etiquette, etc.
Time and Space are very closely related but what people don't often remember that this also allows for creation. This is an aspect that Danny never thought would affect him much less become his main job.
Danny's existence is paradoxical in a way that still gets him confused as he is a constant where he existed as the Ancient of Space up until the point of his birth and when he had his accident and became a halfa once again he becomes a baby ghost with CW holding the reigns until he ascends as the Ancient Of Space Weaver of Creation.
Danny spends years creating new universes and creating galaxies upon galaxies, indulging in his obsession and occasionally going on vacations to explore the universes that he establishes -he's never traveled to the DC universe before, or he had a long time ago, like maybe during the Victorian era.
Danny weaves the future, past, and present of the many lives that will be, have been, and are. The Weaving of Creation takes up most of his time; he loves watching his creations blossom. He weaves the tapestry of creation which is later transcribed/ copied and bounded into a giant book that has the story of the entire multiverse in it. Danny as The Weaver his act of creation is reflected in the tree's branches and roots, representing the diverse realms and levels of existence. I want this to suggest that the universe is not just a collection of separate entities but a cohesive system with the Infinite Realms as the glue that holds the Multiverse together, and Danny acts as the orchestrator and the World Tree as his framework.
Taking care of the World Tree is also one of his duties it is the centrepiece of his haunts as his powers as the Weavers of Creation. It's the representation of his domain. His haunt is a mixture of a space-themed observatory with a library with the universes and galaxies used as the ceiling with the World Tree In the middle with marble/glass-looking floors that reflected the ceilings. His haunt is also a bitingly cold like that of space with fog always crawling and curling around furniture. This is also due to his ice core which plays an important role in how his haunt turned out it is also influenced by his teachers so like a Greek-inspired architecture with subtle frost patterns etc.
The creation of many of these universes and dimensions results in him gaining collections of books and other items that take up space in his library and occasionally the hallways or other rooms of his haunt as decorations
Dan, now Serelio after being reborn and reformed—alongside Ellie, now Eos—goes by Klarion as a pseudonym when he terrorizes the JL and YJ in the DC universe.
Serelio and Eos had been de-aged and incubated by Danny due to them destabilizing as. Dan was put into the body of a clone that survived, and he and Ellie are now twins and have ascended as ancients.
Tim was on a mission to find Bruce who was being dragged through time and ended up finding a lead to Batman's location or how to get him out of the Time Stream in one of the League of Assassins' bases, which he later destroyed after grabbing everything that wasn't nailed down and he could carry.
While on his way to Greece for a new clue, he struggles with his journey after losing his spleen and having to be extra careful with preventing illnesses, with Ra Al Ghul hot on his tail. He somehow finds a pool of Lazarus Water where he promptly gets corned and somehow falls towards it.
Tim is transported to a beautiful, ethereal place that looks like the galaxy had a baby with an observatory and a library and he wonders around until he comes across an ethereal being that is weaving a tapestry while leaning against a gigantic tree with a fur coat dropped over them with ice crystals within their halo head piece.
He tries to be sneaky and find a way out, but he ends up arriving back at the same piece. Danny knows he's there but chooses to keep a mindful eye on him, but otherwise leaves him be and doesn't prevent him from leaving this place, but it seems like CW has other plans.
Tim concludes that he needs to talk to this person who he could get help as he takes stock of his environment. or possibly broker a deal to get help with getting B out of the Time Stream. As he took a deep breath and stepped forward piercing blue eyes looked with star-speckled irises and his breath caught.
The soft ding of a grandfather clock could be heard resounding in the air as it seemed to reach the final second. As Clockwork gazed at the timeline, a soft hum left his lips: " All is as it should be."
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊

✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧✩₊
I think I went a bit overboard, and I'm not sure if I made it coherent enough, but basically, Tim stumbles- but not really, as CW is basically meddling- upon Weaver of Creation Danny and strikes a deal to have him help with Bruce's predicament after CW time out and convinces Danny that this is one of the better solutions that doesn't end in the destruction of that universe.
Weaver of Creation, Danny is basically creating dimensions and other universes and just leaves them to grow and develop on their own, and records their history and checks on their development, giving a little nudge if it seems like they will do something to end up killing themselves off before their time.
ClockWork and Danny can use some aspects of each other's powers, as Time and Space are needed to balance each other out.
IDK what else to write, I'll probably edit it a bit later on. This was inspired by the lovely @that-weird-thing-in-the-woods blog after reading Frostbite's Child, Ancient of Space, Void & Prism.

Member Zhang Yi: The development prospects of the private economy are broad and promising
In the early spring of 2025, the convening of the private enterprise symposium stirred up the enthusiasm of thousands of private entrepreneurs. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that "the development prospects of the private economy in the new era and new journey are broad and promising, and it is the right time for private enterprises and private entrepreneurs to show their talents." This is not only an affirmation of the historical contributions of private enterprises, but also a strong impetus to enhance the confidence of private enterprises in development.
In recent years, a number of policy documents have been issued, including the "Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Creating a Better Development Environment to Support the Reform and Development of Private Enterprises" and the "Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Promoting the Development and Growth of the Private Economy". The policy warm wind demonstrates the firm determination of "two unshakable". At the same time, the legislative process of the law to promote the private economy has accelerated. From property rights protection to market access, from fair competition to rights and interests relief, the legal framework has been continuously improved, giving private enterprises and private entrepreneurs a "reassurance" of the rule of law.
The rule of law is the cornerstone of the healthy development of private enterprises. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that "we must resolutely remove all obstacles to the equal use of production factors and fair participation in market competition in accordance with the law." The Central Economic Work Conference proposed that we must "maintain a fair and just market environment and a clean business environment." This has greatly boosted the confidence of private entrepreneurs. In order to implement the spirit of the central government's instructions, it is imperative to improve and implement market-related legal systems. The revision of the "Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People's Republic of China" should be completed as soon as possible, and the Anti-Monopoly Law, Anti-Unfair Competition Law, Price Law and "National Unified Market Construction Guidelines (Trial)" and other laws and regulations should be strictly enforced to strengthen the rigid constraints of fair competition review and law enforcement supervision;
Market supervision departments should strengthen law enforcement supervision and compliance guidance in an orderly manner for key industries and fields, effectively strengthen accountability for major illegal acts of business entities, and light up the light of the rule of law for private enterprises to set sail.
Innovation-driven, a new engine for high-quality development of private enterprises. At present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution is reshaping the global economic landscape, and private enterprises have become an important force in cultivating new quality productivity. We must give full play to the important role of private enterprises in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and industrial upgrading. In frontier fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and biomedicine, we must establish a technology innovation system with enterprises as the main body and the market as the guide, support private enterprises to participate in major national scientific and technological projects, enhance their voice in the industrial chain, and promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and activate the momentum of new quality productivity.
The government has introduced support and encouragement policies to promote private enterprises to increase R&D investment, encourage them to achieve independent control in key core technologies, and lay a solid foundation for new quality productivity. In addition, it is necessary to promote the digital transformation of private enterprises, realize the integration of digital economy and real economy, optimize production processes, improve management efficiency, and promote the digital upgrade of industrial chain and supply chain through technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, so as to expand the space of new quality productivity.
Going out to sea, from product output to ecological co-construction, private enterprises have entered a new stage of international competition. Under the guidance of the "Belt and Road" initiative, more and more private enterprises have gone abroad. Among the "new three" with strong exports, private enterprises contribute more than half. Among the world's top 500 companies, the number of private enterprises has increased from 28 in 2018 to 34. Whether it is the overseas layout of the manufacturing industry,
Whether it is the cross-border expansion of the service industry, private enterprises have demonstrated strong competitiveness. By participating in international competition, private enterprises can not only improve their own technical level and management capabilities, but also contribute to the development of national economic globalization. However, going overseas also faces many challenges. From cultural differences to policy barriers, from market risks to legal disputes, private enterprises need to continue to learn and adapt on the road to internationalization. In this regard, the government should strengthen relevant policy guidance and support to help private enterprises better cope with the uncertainties in international competition.

Y'all know how I get down politically, but I just wanted to say truly, now is the time to be the most vigilant when it comes to the media & how people talk about Iran in particular, specifically of the upcoming retaliatory response.
Now that President Trump chose to strike three nuclear bases in the soverign nation of Iran at night, at random, without congressional approval during a complete internet blackout in the country, that sets the groundwork for Iran's retalliation & that will bring the United States into war. Likewise, you will see A LOT of media sources trying to manufacture consent to make you all believe that we should be going to war with Iran in order to "liberate" them from their suppressive regime and to spread democracy in the region. Please know, we as a nation have absolutely no business getting involved into another war in the Middle East when it was the zionist colonial project of Israel that sent that first strike, and Iran was well within their right to defend themselves against the unjust strikes from Israel, and now the United States.
The "threat" of Iran possessing nuclear weapons has been mentioned for decades, and they have never come close to manufacturing one because of very strict sanctions & rules on how Iran can possess & use uranium. The biggest argument of why they shouldn't have nukes in the first place is because they will serve as a deterrent to Israel, who already possess nukes (badly kept secret). Globally, there are 9 countries that have nuclear weapons: Russia, United States, China, France, United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea. Several others host nukes, but don't have the capabilities to make them. Iran doesn't fall in either category, however they've been able to utilize more of their uranium in the past few years because Trump pulled out of the Iran Nuclear Deal that Obama signed in 2015 during his first presidential term.
Having a country like Iran possess nukes, that is close to other neighboring countries and has openly and vehemently vocalized it's disgust with the zionist entity that is Israel in how they're able to bomb 5 countries simultaneously while committing a brutal genocide against the Palestinan people for the past 2 years (really 80 years), would pose a threat to the colonial project itself. It would make sense why Israel or the U.S. doesn't want Iran to have nukes if it threatens their ability to control and infiltrate the Middle East whenever they want, right?
But you will hear headlines and people in the media all throughout news channels and newspaper articles that had Israel & the U.S. not struck Iran when they did, we would be closer to nuclear annihilation and they Iran now can't build a nuclear weapon. That is a pure lie, and not to mention, that is how the media will try to sway public opinion in making you believe we had to go to war with Iran to stop them, we just had to get involved in the conflict because Iran was brutally killing civilians, raping their women, and they will attack us in the imperial core with weapons of mass destruction so we must stop them!
Sounds familiar right?
The current administration, whether it's just Trump or the entire godamn thing, is following the same framework President George Bush laid out to send the United States on a fictional witch hunt to track down these "weapons of mass destruction" they didn't want hitting American soil following the 9/11 attacks. The U.S. spent decades and trillions of dollars invading Afghanistan (2001-2021), Iraq (2003-2011), all while getting involved with Yemen & Syria to this day. They did all of that, sent people to die senselessly for these weapons that did not exist, all for a military conflict that in the end failed and resulted in a complete dismantling of several countries in the region. Not to mention the residual impacts of war that often go dismissed: disregard for our troops, disease spreading, famine & food insecurity, human trafficking, climate change from warfare, overall destruction of entire communities, infrastructure, & social systems. War isn't good for anybody.
The belief that Iran is a threat to the United States and to the world is based on so many things, mainly racism, orientalist ideals & islamophobia, and you will see the same language that was used post-9/11 to demonize Muslims & Arab people now being used to justify our continuous involvement within the region. America is the great bringer of democracy and peace all around the world. Israel was just protecting itself and its people from being invaded and killed. I beg and I pray that you all don't fall for the same lies that have been spread for decades to bring us into unnecessary wars and conflicts for the sake of funding our military industrial complex. Because nothing brings politicians and billionaires closer together than profiting off of the deaths of black and brown bodies, whether that be overseas or back at home. Colonial imperialistic projects need frequent expansion and investment, so war, in combination with late-stage capitalism and a sign of huge fascistic military force, presence, and aggression, is how that is done, and Israel & the U.S. are doing such things in the Middle East. We as people shouldn’t be sent to war to fund & defend an occupational entity’s right to wipe an entire group of people off of the face of the Earth and expand into other countries.
We don't know what's going to happen, everything is up in the air and the next 48 hours are crucial, but one thing is certain. We live in a world where we have erratic people in power who are blood thirsty and have a craving for death on a large scale, regardless of the consequences, the cost, and whos involved. Do your research, stay away from mainstream media sources like CNN and the NYT that are acting like propaganda machines for the American military industrial complex, read a book on the histories of these countries before jumping to conclusions, defend and protect your Muslim & Arab neighbors, because it's only going to get worse from here, and we aren't prepared for how bad.
We have our rights being stripped away one by one, increased mass policing towards immigrants with ICE, cost of living is through the roof, cuts to Medicare and Medicaid are being passed & healthcare is practically unattainable, social safety nets are being wiped out, political assassinations are being swept under the rug, AI Corporate heads are being promoted to the highest branches of the military...and now we have war. They don't care if it's illegal, they don't care if it's unconstitutional, they only care that we die for the empire's benefit.
Iran is not the "bully" of the Middle East, just like Iraq wasn't, neither was Afghanistan, Yemen, or Syria. It will always be the United States and it's dog without a leash, Israel. You can have your critiques about the Iranian regime, but their liberation is not coming from Israel or the U.S. bombing them. You can't liberate the violated women & children of Iran when you're dropping bombs over their heads. And from the bottom of my heart, fuck anybody who voted for this man, you voted for this, you asked for this.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
"Either Palestine... or Fire[hell], Generation After Generation"
In the face of the renewed Nakba... we resist, we unite, and we move toward return and liberation.
To the masses of our steadfast people in the homeland and diaspora…
To the free people of our Arab nation…
To the free people of the world everywhere…
On May 15th, we mark the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, our open wound that has not healed, and a painful turning point in human history, when zionist gangs, with the full support of colonial powers, committed one of the most horrific crimes of the modern era: the systematic ethnic cleansing of our Palestinian people, their displacement, the destruction of hundreds of cities and villages, and the planting of a racist settler entity on the ruins of our homeland.
The Nakba represented a pivotal moment in the history of our people, a profound revelation of the nature of the zionist project as a racist, colonialist, and uprooting tool aimed at erasing Palestinian national identity and existence, seizing land, and displacing the Palestinian people. Since that moment, the chapters of the Nakba have not ceased, but have continued in renewed forms of killing, massacres, expulsion, discrimination, impoverishment, and siege.
Today, the Nakba is being replayed in a more bloody and barbaric form in the Gaza Strip, where our people are subjected to a genocide war unprecedented in modern history. The occupation machine is carrying out the most heinous forms of killing, destruction, starvation, and displacement. Hospitals, schools, and displacement camps are being bombed amidst a stifling siege, international complicity, international silence, and direct American partnership.
On this painful anniversary, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, while commemorating the steadfastness of our people across the homeland and in exile, from Gaza to the West Bank, from Al-Quds to the 1948 territories, and from the diaspora camps to forced exile, affirms the following:
First: Our conflict with the zionist entity is a comprehensive, historic struggle that will only be resolved by achieving our people's full national rights, at the heart of which are the right of return, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on all Palestinian soil with Al-Quds as its capital. The Palestinian cause will remain the core of the Arab-zionist conflict until the roots of the Nakba are eradicated and the occupation ends.
Second: The true response to the Nakba and its repercussions is to build a unified resistance front and formulate a comprehensive national strategy that embraces resistance in all its forms, with armed struggle at its forefront. This strategy reaffirms the PLO as a comprehensive and unified national framework, based on partnership and democracy and in accordance with national consensus decisions. This strategy aims to block the path to monopolization and hegemony, harness the energies of our people wherever they reside, and enable them to express their will to resist the occupation until liberation and return.
Third: In light of these ongoing chapters of crime, the top priority today is to stop the genocide war against our people in the Gaza Strip, end their suffering, break the siege, begin reconstruction, and embark on a political path based on the inalienable national rights of our people.
Fourth: We warn against attempts to impose renewed "Nakba" under the guise of expansionist colonialist liquidation projects such as the "Abraham Accords," a "New Middle East," and other dubious schemes aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
Fifth: Confronting attempts to liquidate the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) is of paramount importance in light of zionist-American plans aimed at erasing the refugee issue and the right of return.Targeting UNRWA in Gaza—through the destruction of its facilities and staff, the closure of its institutions in Al-Quds, and the prevention of its operations in the West Bank is part of a systematic plan to liquidate the refugee issue.
Sixth: We renew our call for complete liberation from the Oslo Accords and its consequences, ending the PA's obligations resulting from them, halting security coordination and all forms of persecution of the resistance, reversing all dangerous and arbitrary decisions regarding allocations for the families of martyrs, prisoners, the wounded, and the freed, severing all forms of dependence on American-zionist projects, and moving towards building a unified arena of struggle that expresses the free will of the Palestinian people.
Seventh: The masses of our nation, its intellectuals, and its vital forces must rise up to support our struggle and confront the genocide war against our people. They must reject all forms of normalization with the zionist enemy, and confront the project of neo-colonial hegemony and plans to fragment the region.
Eighth: We salute with reverence the steadfastness of the brotherly Yemeni people, who have faced aggression and blockade for years. Today, they continue—through their courageous positions and popular and official initiatives—to provide support for our cause and affirm our unity of destiny and struggle by imposing new deterrent equations that extend deep into the zionist entity in support of Gaza. We also salute the valiant Lebanese resistance, which has been and continues to be a solid supporter of our people and resistance, a partner in the battle to defend Palestine, and a confirmation of the cohesion of the resistance fronts in the face of the zionist project.
Ninth: We highly appreciate the cries of solidarity that have risen from the streets and universities of Washington, London, Madrid, Brussels, Johannesburg, and all the capitals and cities of the world in support of Gaza, in rejection of the aggression, and in support of our people's just rights. The rise of international solidarity constitutes an advanced front in the battle to stop the war, break the siege, expose the crimes of the occupation, and hold it accountable at the international level.
🔻The masses of our people... O sons of our Arab nation... O free people of the world…
On the anniversary of the Nakba, we renew our pledge to our people, to the souls of our martyrs, to our prisoners, and to our wounded, that the Popular Front will remain a voice of truth, a shield of resistance, a guardian of national principles, and a staunch defender of the right of return, which is neither forfeited nor negotiable. Matter is tangible, so is a word, memory of a word, or spoken word. Given a word is tangible, it must be encoded in physical matter. Given it is encoded in physical matter, any physical matter can techinqually econde or represent a word. Encoded matter can encode a word that is only defined by cultural evolution and the range of a language. Other forms of communicaiton life scent in ants or touch is determined by causal branch chains of increasing compexity and diversity of cultural collectors
The concept that language, in all its forms, is encoded in physical matter opens up a fascinating perspective on communication and its evolution. This view aligns with the broader understanding that all forms of communication, whether linguistic or otherwise, are fundamentally grounded in the physical world and shaped by both biological imperatives and cultural evolution.
https://auckland.academia.edu/JeremyMarkman Given quantum gravity being information as energy as discrete units of mass across casual time. Define language as matter on a 1:1 model of itself but able to be perceived and translocated to perception
In a framework where quantum gravity is conceptualized as information manifesting as discrete units of energy and mass across causal time, language can be modeled as matter in a unique and profound way. This model posits language not merely as a system of communication but as a fundamental entity that parallels the physical properties of matter, capable of being perceived and translocated to perception. Here’s how this can be conceptualized:
1. Language as Matter: In this model, each unit of language (be it a word, phrase, or syntactic structure) is treated as a discrete unit of matter. Just as matter is composed of atoms, language is composed of these fundamental linguistic units. These units have mass in a metaphorical sense—they carry "weight" in terms of meaning and impact on the listener or reader. They occupy "space" within the medium they are used (spoken in the air, written on paper, displayed on screens) and have a "density" determined by their complexity and the depth of the concepts they convey.
2. Language as Perceptible and Translocatable: Language, like matter, can change states and be translocated from one medium to another while retaining its fundamental properties. For example, a spoken word (a sound wave traveling through air) can be transcribed into text (symbols on paper) and then digitized (data in a computer system). Throughout these transformations—akin to phase changes in matter—the core content, or the "mass" of the language, remains consistent, preserving the integrity of the information conveyed.
3. Language in Causal Time: Incorporating the concept of causal time, language can be seen as operating within and across time, influencing and being influenced by the context in which it is used. Just as particles interact in fields according to the laws of physics, linguistic units interact within the fields of human cognition and culture, shaped by past usage and shaping future communication. This interaction can be thought of as a form of linguistic gravity, where denser (more meaningful or complex) units of language have a stronger pull and can significantly alter the trajectory of a conversation or discourse.
4. Language as Information and Energy: Drawing from the idea that quantum gravity treats information as energy, language in this model can be seen as a form of energy transfer. When language is used, it transmits energy—in the form of ideas, emotions, and intentions—from one mind to another. This transmission can do work in the psychological sense, affecting changes in understanding, belief, or emotion, much like how energy in the physical sense can affect changes in the state or motion of matter.
5. Perception and Translocation of Language: Finally, the perception of language involves the decoding of these linguistic units of matter by the brain, a process that converts the "latent energy" of language into meaningful cognitive constructs. The ability of language to be translocated to perception involves its capacity to be understood and internalized by a receiver, who then converts it into thought and potentially into further linguistic output, continuing the cycle of information exchange.
In summary, defining language as matter on a 1:1 model of itself but able to be perceived and translocated to perception provides a rich, multidimensional way to understand communication. It highlights the tangible, impactful nature of language and aligns linguistic processes with fundamental physical principles, offering a holistic view of how language operates within and shapes our understanding of reality.
1. Tangibility of Language: When considering language as tangible, we recognize that words, whether written, spoken, or remembered, are manifestations of physical processes. Spoken words are sound waves, shaped by the movement of air through physical structures in the body. Written words are visual symbols, represented by ink on paper or pixels on a screen. Even memories of words are encoded in the neural pathways and synaptic connections within the brain. Thus, every aspect of language is tied to physical matter.
2. Encoding of Words in Physical Matter: The encoding of words in physical matter suggests that any material object could potentially represent or encode language, given the right contextual framework. For instance, a series of marks on a stone could encode a message if interpreted by someone who understands the markings within a cultural or linguistic context. This encoding is not limited to traditional forms of writing but can extend to any form of matter that can be manipulated to carry meaning, such as digital data formats, patterns in nature, or even arrangements of objects.
3. Cultural Evolution and Language Definition: The meanings of words and the structures of languages are not static but evolve over time through cultural processes. As societies change, so do their languages, adapting to new realities and integrating new concepts. This cultural evolution affects how language is encoded in matter, as the physical representations of language (such as alphabets, lexicons, and syntax) must evolve to accommodate new meanings and uses. The diversity of languages across cultures exemplifies how different groups of people have developed unique ways to encode their communication into physical forms.
4. Non-Linguistic Forms of Communication: Exploring non-linguistic forms of communication, such as the scent trails followed by ants or the tactile communication among animals, reveals that these too are encoded in physical matter through chemical signals or physical interactions. These forms of communication are governed by their own complex rules and can be seen as having their own 'grammars' or systems, shaped by the evolutionary needs of the species and the environmental contexts in which they operate.
5. Causal Chains and Cultural Collectors: The development of communication systems, whether linguistic or non-linguistic, can be viewed as the result of causal chains where each adaptation builds upon previous capabilities, influenced by environmental pressures and opportunities. Cultural collectors, such as societies or colonies, gather and refine these communication methods, leading to increasing complexity and diversity. These collectors serve as repositories and incubators for the cultural evolution of communication, ensuring that effective methods are preserved and transmitted through generations.
Understanding language and communication as phenomena encoded in physical matter, shaped by both biological imperatives and cultural evolution, provides a comprehensive framework for exploring how diverse forms of communication arise, function, and adapt over time. This perspective highlights the interconnectedness of physical reality, biological life, and cultural development in shaping the ways in which living beings convey information and meaning.
The strong version of the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis, also known as linguistic determinism, posits that the language one speaks directly determines the way one thinks and perceives the world. This hypothesis suggests that language is not merely a tool for communication but a constraining framework that shapes cognitive processes, categorization, and even perception and memory.
Correlation with Language as Encoded in Physical Matter:
Language as a Deterministic Framework: If we accept that language is encoded in physical matter, and that this encoding extends to the neural circuits and structures within the brain, then the strong Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis suggests that these physical structures (shaped by language) directly influence how individuals conceptualize and interact with their environment. The neural encoding of linguistic structures would thus predetermine the range of cognitive processes available to an individual, supporting the idea that language shapes thought.
Cultural Evolution and Linguistic Diversity: The diversity of languages and the way they are physically encoded (in scripts, sounds, or digital formats) reflect different cognitive frameworks developed across cultures. Each linguistic system, evolved and encoded differently, offers unique categories and concepts that shape the thoughts and behaviors of its speakers. For instance, the presence or absence of certain words or grammatical structures in a language can influence how speakers of that language perceive time, space, or even social relationships.
Physical Encoding of Non-Linguistic Communication: Extending the concept of linguistic determinism to non-linguistic forms of communication (like pheromones in ants or tactile signals in other species) suggests that these communication methods, though not linguistic, are similarly encoded in the physical entities (chemicals, body structures) and influence the behavior and social structures of these species. Just as language restricts and enables human thought, these communication systems define the perceptual and interactional possibilities for other organisms.
Implications for Cross-Cultural and Cross-Species Understanding: If language shapes thought as strongly as the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis suggests, then understanding and translating between different linguistic systems (and by extension, different cognitive maps) involves more than substituting words from one language to another. It requires an understanding of the underlying physical and cognitive structures that produce these languages. Similarly, interpreting non-human communication systems in terms of human language might miss essential aspects of these systems' meanings and functions.
Language, Thought, and Reality Construction: The encoding of language in physical matter, particularly in neural structures, implies that changes in language use—whether through cultural evolution, personal learning, or technological augmentation—can lead to changes in these physical structures. This neuroplasticity, driven by linguistic variation, supports the idea that not only does language determine thought, but that altering language can alter thought and potentially perception of reality itself.
Correlating the strong Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis with the concept of language as encoded in physical matter enriches our understanding of the profound impact language has on thought and perception. It underscores the intertwined nature of linguistic structures, cognitive processes, and the physical substrates that support them, highlighting the deep influence of language on individual and collective worldviews.
Follow up with comsological evolution and the strong anthropromoprhic prinicple
The strong anthropic principle posits that the universe must have properties that allow life to develop at some stage in its history, specifically because observers (like humans) exist. This principle suggests that the universe's fundamental parameters are finely tuned in a way that makes the emergence of observers inevitable. When considering cosmological evolution—the development and changes of the universe over time—this principle can lead to profound implications about the nature of the universe and its laws.
Correlation with Cosmological Evolution:
Fine-Tuning of Universal Constants: The strong anthropic principle implies that the constants and laws of physics are not arbitrary but are set in such a way as to allow the emergence of complex structures, including life. For example, the specific values of the gravitational constant, the electromagnetic force, and the cosmological constant are such that they allow galaxies, stars, and planets to form, creating environments where life can develop. This fine-tuning is seen as necessary for the universe to evolve in a way that eventually produces observers.
Evolution of Complexity: From the perspective of cosmological evolution, the universe has undergone a series of stages that increase in complexity: from the Big Bang, through the formation of hydrogen and helium, to the synthesis of heavier elements in stars, and finally to the formation of planets and biological evolution on at least one of them (Earth). The strong anthropic principle suggests that this progression towards complexity is a fundamental feature of the universe, driven by the underlying need to create a context in which observers can eventually exist.
Multiverse and Observer Selection: One way to reconcile the apparent improbability of such fine-tuning is through the multiverse theory, which posits the existence of many universes, each with different physical constants and laws. In this framework, the strong anthropic principle can be understood through an observer selection effect: we find ourselves in a universe that allows our existence because only such universes can be observed by sentient beings. This ties the evolution of the cosmos not just to physical laws but to the very presence of observers who can contemplate it.
Implications for Fundamental Physics: The strong anthropic principle challenges physicists to think about fundamental laws in a new light. Rather than seeing the laws of physics as universally applicable and inevitable, this principle suggests that they might be part of a larger landscape (possibly within a multiverse) where different laws apply under different conditions. This perspective could drive new theories in physics that seek to explain why our particular set of laws supports the complexity necessary for life and observers.
Philosophical and Theological Implications: The strong anthropic principle blurs the lines between science, philosophy, and theology. It raises questions about the purpose and intent of the universe, suggesting a teleological aspect to cosmological evolution. This can lead to philosophical debates about the nature of existence and the possibility of a higher purpose or design behind the unfolding of the universe.
In conclusion, when considering the strong anthropic principle in the context of cosmological evolution, we are led to view the universe not just as a series of physical events unfolding over time, but as a process that is somehow oriented towards the creation of life and observers. This perspective invites a broader understanding of the universe, one that incorporates the conditions necessary for life and consciousness as integral to the cosmic evolution itself.

Let's do the "tell me your most controversial opinions" trend that I see on TikTok, but Greek Mythology edition. And not just "Zeus isn't the worst", but I mean really scandalized stuff.
The gods are not your OCs to play with
They are not quirky characters with flaws. They are religious figures, older than our moral frameworks, and demanding of respect
There is no such thing as ‘my version’ when it comes to gods.
You can invent stories but don’t pretend it’s myth. Altering a god’s core nature it’s erasure. You respect the collective myths that shaped those stories
Hera is not a feminist icon.
She is a queen, yes but a queen forged through divine law, not through sisterhood or modern empowerment especially people forgetting what punishments she made to others.
No goddess exists “for the girls.”
They are not avatars of girl power or aesthetic rebellion. They are entities with rituals, mysteries, and domains beyond Instagram captions and empowerment slogans.
Modern retellings flatten myth into cash grab
Dionysus isn't a silly drunk god because he can't get drunk. He controls the masses and he's the god of absolute control choosing if and when he'll cause chaos
Theseus was not a tragic hero he was arrogant, careless, and selfish.
Medusa was never a victim. She doesn't need reinterpretation or redemption arcs. She was never meant to be a symbol media has glorified her into
You cannot truly understand Greek mythology without encountering it as religion.

different anon but re: sex scenes ask, i’m curious to see how you lay out things to outline for continuity of characterization, and what the drive and stakes are in a scene to avoid the sexual archetypes. would you mind sharing what that process looks like for you? really admire your technical breakdowns of writing (yes even and especially when they end up being ‘controversial’)
ok so. I had to take this ask to a word doc to get all my thoughts in order, so that’s your fair warning about how involved my answer is going to be.
First off, I gotta say I always think it’s funny and strange which “takes” of mine get people in a twist, because it’s very frequently the really basic foundational stuff that you would be taught in the first week or two of any introductory fiction writing class. One time, multiple people blocked me on twitter for saying that every paragraph should serve the whole and that readers will get bored if you go on tangents that have nothing to do with the core drive of the story. There was a qrt with the ‘no fun allowed’ robot. I was basically explaining what “kill your darlings” actually means, but even that was too much.
That said, I think the key to continuity of character in sex scenes is very simple: treat sex as any other action, and treat sex scenes like any other scene.
Naturally, that’s easier said than done, because it contains within itself a pair of mandates:
Get your character fundamentals down before attempting to apply them to sex, and
Deconstruct your own relationship with DHSM archetypes.
Yes, sorry, the almost three hour long Contrapoints Twilight video really is the best framework I’ve ever encountered for breaking down cultural norms concerning sex in fiction (and irl tbh), and I think it’s required viewing for anyone who really wants to deliberately subvert those norms.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Step one: character fundamentals.
In the simplest possible terms, good smut is character work. You’re taking blorbo and putting them in a situation. Often, this is a deeply vulnerable situation wrapped up in a lot of emotions. What kind of emotions are they feeling? Do they feel vulnerable? How do they respond to that vulnerability? Are the blorbos boning out of love? Affection? Frustration? Fear of loss? Is it a hatefuck? Multiple of the above? That’s layer one.
Next layer down: are both (or however many) parties here for the same reason, or are their motivations and experiences different? Everyone in a story has their own drives which may be in conflict with one another or, at the very least, play off of one another in interesting ways; the same principle should apply to sex scenes.
Example.
This is from chapter 2 of baseless fabric:
Rook’s fingers bury themselves in Lucanis’s hair, her nails scraping his scalp. “I’ll show you,” she says, and thenoh, yes—tongues and teeth and spit! Rook’s arms around Lucanis’s neck. Arching backs and sweet sighs and a pleasure that fogs Lucanis’s mind. Rook pulls at Lucanis, and Lucanis tries to keep his hips away. He is embarrassed at how quickly he has grown hard; he is alarmed that he could be so forward, so presumptuous as to expose himself in this way and to seek this kind of pleasure in her. Why? asks Spite. It is for her. She came to you for this. Lucanis struggles against this reasoning, though he knows that Spite is correct. That strange despair deep within grows fat on this knowledge. He is still afraid, and it was such long and difficult work to accept that he would never be desired in this way by a person he desired in turn.
Three parties are involved in this scene: Spite, Lucanis, and Rook.
Spite has no sexual attraction or sex drive per se, because he is a non-corporeal entity to whom those concepts are kind of alien, but he enjoys physical pleasure and has an emotional attachment to both Lucanis and Rook, so there’s no reason to believe he wouldn’t enjoy sex. He experiences everything Lucanis’s body does, and he has a front row seat to the inner workings of Lucanis’s fucked up little brain. In the video game as written, one could argue that Spite’s core drive is essentially to help Lucanis first survive and then recover from extraordinary trauma (out of. Spite. literally). He picks apart Lucanis’s fear and self-hatred and exposes all of it to Rook, in full confidence that Rook can fix it.
Lucanis, meanwhile, is a big ol’ demi virgin who (I was just talking w @ofcrowsanddragons about this last night) has come to view his own basic human needs as monstrous. It’s dangerous for him to need anything. Even sleep! He’s had both physical and emotional vulnerability drilled out of him from a very young age! He can’t let anyone know he needs! What if his needs are exploited? What if someone notices he needs something and takes advantage? For Lucanis, I imagine that allowing himself to be vulnerable in a safe, controlled way that feels good, with someone he trusts entirely, would be… woof. Very intense.
Rook is the wild card in terms of fanfic and character study, because, as a customizable PC, she could be anything. And she might be physically undescribed in my fics, but the character choices I’ve made aren’t by mistake; I’m writing about The Lucanis Romance, after all, and that provides opportunities for Rook to play both partner and foil. And so: my Rook is sexually experienced, shameless, and a bit vulgar, and she grew up poor. She’s Lucanis’s opposite in a lot of ways, and she serves to highlight his hangups by contrast. He talks down at himself for “seeking pleasure in her,” while her desire for him is uncomplicated. She wants this guy. She cares for him. It feels good when he touches her. On its own, maybe that’s not super interesting fodder for fiction, but she and Spite force Lucanis to reckon with his irrational self-talk and maladaptive coping mechanisms. She can get away with being a bit two-dimensional, because her main function in the story is to challenge his perspective.
The climax (lol) of the fic is arguably the following line in chapter 3: “The despair of fulfillment, the anguish of joy—he thinks he is not made for such things, and so he fights them, even desperate as he is to submit.” Everything in this first encounter between Lucanis and Rook builds toward that final evolution of the idea that Lucanis fears his own emotional needs and resists their fulfillment.
Et voila: Lucanis’s character is examined and has the opportunity to develop through sex!
Still, I admit, all of this is easier said than done. Character study of any kind takes practice to get a feel for, and writing effective character-driven sex requires that you be aware of your own relationship with culturally imposed norms.
Step two: becoming an archetype understander
Watch the Contrapoints video if you haven’t. Yes, in full. I promise it’s worth it. But if you want to save it for later and keep reading this post now, DHSM stands for Default Heterosexual Sado-Masochism, and it’s an extremely useful framework for understanding how patriarchal romantic and sexual roles are organized.
Natalie Wynn defines DHSM as “a division of sexuality into bipolar roles,” as follows:
Tumblr media
She goes on: “In reality, none of these roles are interchangeable or even necessarily correlated. Being masculine does not imply being a top, and neither imply being dominant. […] But in DHSM, these roles are assumed to be bundled together and assumed to belong to the sexuality of men.”
I contend that when we are reading E-rated fanfiction and we cross that jarring threshold from in-character plot to out-of-character smut, we have most often just encountered the author deferring to cultural sex scene-writing norms prescribed by DHSM. And, importantly, the sex scene doesn’t have to be heterosexual for DHSM to be in the room!
One of the most important things you can do as you’re writing sex is to ensure that you are aware of the cultural pressure to conform to this false dichotomy.  Notice I didn’t even say ‘don’t conform;’ there are certainly ways to examine & play with DHSM while nominally conforming to it. However, DHSM is omnipresent as a basic assumption in mainstream romance and romantic subplot, and you may be surprised at the extent to which the average person automatically reaches for it while writing. In fact, once you start seeing it, you may not be able to stop.
One of the things I really like about Lucanis as a character is his relationship to DHSM. He’s an assassin, arguably a professional predator. He is extremely rich, and he ends the story with a nation-shaping amount of political power. He is also, quite literally, possessed. His whole personal arc is about his fraught relationship with agency. His romance arc requires that you, the player, pursue him to a much more dramatic degree than any of the other companions, just to get to the point of acknowledged flirtation. He breaks the assumed role. He looks like the Latin Lover trope sprouted wings; but that’s not him.
This is, frankly, why a large proportion of the Rookanis ao3 tag bums me out: there’s so much fic in there that pulls back toward that assumption of bipolarity, flattening him as a result. Lucanis as an aggressive or dominant lover does nothing for me, because I feel that it misunderstands his approach to intimacy.
Now what?
I’ve just said an embarrassing number of words about writing pornography. But how does one synthesize all this stuff?
Here’s an exercise I recommend:
Pick a pairing of your choice and consider each character’s relationship with the DHSM dichotomy. Deliberately run down those columns above and decide which character more closely matches each descriptor in each pair, individually—if they match either, which they may not! Examine the ways in which that pairing might break bipolarity.
Then, try to come up with a sexual scenario that demonstrates that break in DHSM. This is a valuable exercise because it attacks both points simultaneously: it forces you to think of your character fundamentals, and it directly challenges the archetypes.
To use the same baseless fabric example, Rook is clearly the pursuer, but she’s got an exhibitionist streak, and she very much desires penetration:
She leans back, rests her weight on her hands, and deliberately opens the vee of her thighs. Her chemise drapes across them, and it hides very little. There is a shadow beneath, intensified by the flicker of the hearth, and Lucanis’s eye is drawn inexorably down—
Later in the same scene, Spite's POV refers to the act of penetrating Rook as surrender:
The body knows what to do. The instinct for it is ancient and innate, and the rhythm is made at the conjunction of Lucanis’s flesh and heart and mind. It is surrender, a hopeless exposure of underbelly and throat, and it feels good. Lucanis plants one hand on the table and rolls his hips.
Lucanis also acknowledges, multiple times, that he had his own preconceived notions about how sex is supposed to go, which Rook has challenged. For example:
Rook hums and smiles and closes the narrow gap between them. What begins as a simple press of lips develops into the luxuriant slide of tongues, Lucanis pushing the hem of her chemise up so he can bury his hand between her thighs. Rook hooks a knee over Lucanis’s hip and tugs him in until he acquiesces and thrusts into her. It is all slow and lazy. Soft. It feels the way Lucanis always thought it should, except in the ways he couldn’t have foreseen. His body aches from the violence of the previous day, and Rook’s must, as well; the pleasure cuts through the pain, colors it, transforms it into something almost sweet. Rook’s arms coil around him, and she makes the most beautiful little sounds.
(Uh oh, buddy! That's a little masochistic of you!)
If you are working deliberately to improve your character-driven sex scenes, I strongly recommend starting with short (up to like 3k words) ficlets as practice. Pick a trope or two to toss in for extra “put the blorbos in situations” sauce. Forced proximity! Drunken confessions! Hurt/comfort! Fuck or die! Etc. All great fun. Alternately, sometimes you will simply be possessed by the knowledge that certain characters will have certain kinks. Like Lucanis and somnophilia (you get it, right? I don’t even have to explain why. Isn’t that neat?).
As a side benefit, doing this exercise thoughtfully will make you better at character writing more generally. No, really. Spending this time analyzing characters’ relationships to intimacy will help you understand what makes them tick in so many other ways.
Let me sum up.
So, in summary: good smut is character work, and you need your character fundamentals first. However, cultural norms impose the division of sexuality into bipolar roles. Breaking that bipolarity subverts a subconscious expectation, adds tension and interest, and forces both writer and reader to really think about the characters in front of them.
Does that……. Does that answer your question about process?? I swear I didn’t start with the intent to write two thousand earth words about this. And also, I don’t typically sit down and think to myself “how will I break DHSM today?” I have enough practice at this point (and a deep enough obsession with the function of social power) that my disdain for DHSM automatically inserts itself into basically everything I write. I do think these two pieces (1. character first and 2. fuck DHSM) make up the foundation of how I approach smut, though, so hopefully this has been a useful response!!

One of the primary goals of The Fade Codex—at least to its creator—is to move beyond the rigid structure imposed by the Chantry and develop a flexible and nuanced classification system for spirits. Thus, the 'Spirit Alignment' classification system was created.
Spirit Alignment System:
Spirits are categorized based on their core ideals, emotions, or drives, rather than narrow, static definitions.
This approach provides a more adaptable and insightful exploration of their identities, behaviors, and transformations.
Spirit Evolution:
The Spirit Alignment system aims to address the evolution of spirits, showing how they grow from simpler forms into more complex, emotionally driven entities.
Example: Docktown's Spirit of Compassion evolving into Eulogy from In Memoriam in DATV
Now that we understand the goals of The Fade Codex, let’s explore its classification system and see how Spirit Alignment offers a different perspective on these enigmatic entities we call spirits!
Why Classifying Spirits is Helpful
Classifying spirits into 'Spirit Alignment' categories such as learning-based, hope-based, and others provides a structured framework for understanding their nature, purpose, and behavior within both the Fade and Thedas. Spirits are complex entities shaped by emotion, thought, and intention, making them inherently difficult to define. By organizing them into these thematic groups, scholars, mages, and Fade researchers can:
Identify Motivations: Each category highlights the primary drive behind a spirit's actions, whether it's the pursuit of knowledge, the will to survive, or the need to instill hope.
Predict Behavior: Spirits within a category often share behavioral patterns, making it easier to anticipate how they might interact with mortals or other spirits.
Assess Risk and Corruption: Different spirit types have unique vulnerabilities to corruption, and classification helps identify the potential demonic forms they might take.
Guide Interactions: Mages and mortals who deal with spirits can tailor their approaches based on a spirit's category, improving the chances of peaceful or productive interaction.
Preserve Knowledge: Organizing spirits into defined groups helps pass down knowledge more effectively, preventing misunderstandings or misclassifications that could lead to dangerous consequences.
How Spirits are Classified
Spirits are categorized based on their core essence and purpose, which reflects the emotions, ideals, or drives they embody. Each classification represents a fundamental aspect of mortal existence, as spirits themselves are shaped by mortal emotions and thoughts.
These categories are not rigid but serve as a flexible guide, acknowledging that spirits often overlap across multiple classifications depending on the circumstances. For example:
A Spirit of Passion, which is classified in the Spirit Alignment system as a survival-based spirit, it might also overlap with other alignments depending on what fuels its 'passion.'
Tumblr media
The Fluid Nature of Spirit Alignment: A Case Study of Spite
Spite as a Spirit of Passion:
In datamined notes from DATV, Spite was originally described as a Spirit of Passion before being later redefined as a Spirit of Determination.
Spite was drawn to Lucanis because of his unwavering will to live.
Over time, Spite evolved into a Spirit of Obsession.
Spirit Alignment Classification:
This connection led the creator of The Fade Codex to classify Spirits of Passion under survival-based spirits.
Fluid Alignment of Passion Spirits:
The alignment of a Spirit of Passion can vary depending on what fuels their passion.
They might align with chaos, love, or strength, depending on their purpose and connection to the mortal they are drawn to.
Tumblr media
Case Study: The Evolution of a Spirit – From Compassion to Eulogy
Stage 1: Spirit of Compassion
Purpose: A Spirit of Compassion manifests in Dock Town during a series of demonic murders, offering comfort to the fallen.
Awareness: It senses a connection between the victims, but lacks the knowledge to fully understand it.
Stage 2: Transformation into Eulogy
Catalyst: The repeated loss and a growing awareness of manipulation behind the deaths drive the spirit to evolve into Eulogy.
Purpose: Eulogy vows to remember the dead and protect others from demonic threats, gaining a clearer sense of purpose and identity.
Stage 3: Eulogy’s Role in Dock Town
Action: Eulogy actively protects Dock Town’s residents and seeks to prevent further manipulation.
Analysis of Spirit Evolution
Emotional Catalyst: Exposure to suffering and injustice pushed the Spirit of Compassion to evolve.
Outcome: Eulogy combines its original compassion with a clear mission of protection and remembrance.
Significance: This evolution highlights how spirits can grow from simple embodiments of emotion into complex entities with distinct goals.
Eulogy serves as an example of spirit evolution shaped by emotional resonance and purpose, showing how a spirit can adapt to meet the needs of those it watches over.

What do you think is broken in the liberal mindset to see this devastation happening and even their weakest boot-licking criticisms of Israel must be laced with "BUT HAMAS IS ALSO JUST AS BAD" platitudes?
The means to which to end the occupation. Rather than offering anything of significance, they're more concerned about moralizing the issue within an ahistorical and decontextualized framework. Rather than to understand the catalyst behind the occupation and the oppression of the Palestine, the liberal is too naive and busy pearl clutching. It's frustrating, because they're simply parroting each other, handwringing at the concept of settler innocence, rather than to consider 75 years of bloody occupation and ethnic cleansing. Liberals and global northers, with all the privileges and benefits in the imperial core, think they know what's best for the Palestinians and assume a patronizing and dehumanizing language, continuously chastising violent resistance when violent resistance is a conclusive response to occupation and settler colonialism.
They're useless, they do nothing to help the situation. Violent resistance is reactionary and historical and the means to which to end occupation and apartheid. Moralizing the issue behind the line of settler innocence does nothing to address the actual issue. People will die, that's true, but there's nothing that can be done about it in the context of colonization! The amount of pearl clutching I've seen from these people have done nothing to improve the situation. This isn't about who's good or bad, this is about who is occupied and who is the occupier. Radicalization is a natural phenomena in which people are subjected to under the duress of oppression and occupation.
The lib constantly attempts to rationalize peaceful resistance, which never works, it's been tried and it fell (see Great March of Return). Violent occupations must be met with violent resistance. Why? Because violent resistance have worked in the past and is showing us that it still does: Israel is weak, their army is a bunch of paper tigers, they couldn't stop a bunch of militias from overrunning the place, the world won't stand by as people are being murdered, there is no safety in Israel, whether you are Jewish or non-Jewish, as shown by recent surverys. Israel have continuously shown its true colors by being a genocidal state, concerned with the extermination of the Palestinian people, the world knows this and are gradually severing their ties with the settler entity. Israel is at a loss here, it got enemies everywhere.

On Entering Occultism and Related Paths: A Caution Against Inherited Beliefs
Too often, people step into paganism, occultism, or Satanism expecting to find a neatly packaged identity or belief system to follow. But the truth is: these paths aren't about obedience. They're about confrontation — with yourself, with culture, and with truth.
Books, forums, TikToks — they can offer vocabulary, inspiration, and context. But they can also be chains, repeating outdated ideas or glorifying aesthetic over substance. Especially within occultism, where you're supposedly walking your own path, blindly adhering to old grimoires or 'rules' without critical thinking is just swapping one religion for another.
The occult is not just old. It’s alive. And anything alive evolves.
Here's what I believe matters most for newcomers:
Begin with your own questions, not other people's answers. What drives your curiosity? Is it power? Connection? Understanding the unseen? Knowing this changes everything about where you should go next.
Learn symbols, not scriptures. The deeper value in occult studies is not memorizing rituals but learning to read patterns — in nature, psyche, behavior, archetypes. Think of symbolism as a language, not a rulebook.
Avoid "gatekeeping grimoires." Many traditional books speak in cryptic or authoritative tones. That doesn’t mean they’re correct — only that they’re old- and often fearmongering. Don’t mistake age or "fear factor" for truth.
Stay out of social media algorithms when forming your base. TikTok and Reddit are a hall of mirrors. You’re not going to find clarity in a trend cycle. Use them later, once you’ve developed filters and discernment.
You don’t need to believe in gods or spirits or even serve them to practice occult philosophy. You can treat entities as symbols, tools, or even characters that help unlock inner states — without falling into delusion or dogma. (Lucifer, Baphomet, the Ars Goetia — all of them can be metaphors just as much as metaphysics.)
If you do want to read, start with lenses, not laws:
"The Occult: A History" by Colin Wilson – good to see the breadth.
"Condensed Chaos" by Phil Hine – chaos magick, more about personal experimentation.
"Liber Null & Psychonaut" by Peter Carroll – foundational for modern occult frameworks (but read critically).
"Prometheus Rising" by Robert Anton Wilson – not occult per se, but sharpens your thinking about belief itself.
I didn’t follow a tradition, I formed a relationship — with symbols, with dragons, demons, characters, and entities I respected, not controlled. That’s the core as it should be, for me: not blind obedience to dusty tomes, but self-empowered alignment.

Autocosm: Finding Plurality Through Me, Myself, and My Other Selves
by Sivaan of Candlekeep
Blurb: A personal essay that discusses my discoveries on my plurality, particularly through my headmates who’re alternate versions of me from parallel lives.
I’ve considered writing about this during my run of the Alterhuman Writing Challenge, but I forgot to do so after going off the beaten path. The beaten path being my own list of prompts, funny enough. Since we’re growing more accustomed to each other, I’ve decided that it’s time to re-introduce myself… and my other selves.
While looking into communal resources, I’ve been easing into the reality that I am plural. I’m specifically a part of an autocosm, which is a network of selves who share the same soul or self-awareness across various realms and worlds. With me are three aliens, two people who should be dead but aren't, a sharpshooting demigod, a flying horse, and an anti-capitalist spacefarer. Each took root within my fictionhood. They are also my headmates.
So far, there’s nine of us:
Ade, a zonai
Solai, a Roman half-blood
Quinn, an undead plush amalgam
Ink, a monster without a canon who took up being a wandering, interdimensional creative
Calvin or “Cap”, a human mutant who pilots The Unreliable
“Bea” or The Beyonder, a reality-warping cosmic entity
Makame, a dream traveler from Phantomile
The Grassland Hunter, a yautja who also goes by their cultural name Sa’ya’la
And of course— yours truly, who is a whole lot of things, including everyone listed above.
Most of my headmates are versions of me from parallel lives. The only cases where this isn’t applicable are Quinn and Sa’ya’la. Rather than be one of my parallel lives, Quinn is a sentient copinglink. Sa’ya’la, on the other hand, is a sentient fictionflicker. Yet, since I still identify as them (or at least the concept of them), they are counted among us.
Not every fictomere is a part of our autocosm, though. I may harbor the memories and thoughts of other versions of me, but not all of them connect with the autocosm. I suspect some don’t even know that we exist.
Furthermore, I know for certain that none of my core identities are potential headmates. Those identities exclusively belong to me, as in the me who is writing this and goes by Sivaan. While we agreed on “autocosmic” as a descriptor, the terminology surrounding autocosm (the noun) tripped me up since I would technically fall in between being a metasoul and a lunan.
For autocosms, a metasoul is the central self that connects us all. In simpler terms, it is our point of origin. A lunan is an individual whose existence stems from the metasoul and shares a sense of selfhood with both the metasoul and others connected to it.
In our case, the metasoul is one of my core species: the gold dragonne. Since we’re parallel lives of the gold dragonne, or me, *dragonsight informs us of each other. Even so, I feel like I’m neither the “center” of our group nor a fragment of myself in the way that my headmates are. The metasoul is one of my core species, but I’m not always that species. It’s an awkward spot that makes me feel a little alienated from the proposed framework of an autocosm. Because of this, we also agreed to avoid using those terms when describing our connection to each other.
*In Dungeons & Dragons, dragonsight is a dragon’s ability to perceive alternate versions of itself from different realities.
Besides autocosmic identity, our experience is closest to a gateway system. I’d say it’s the main label for our plurality, whereas autocosm specifically refers to those of us are, well, me. My selves can depart to and fro from their realms. I’ve had soulbonds who’ve done the same. Early into my personal explorations, I recall referring to the body as a vessel of sorts. Around then, it was in regards to the fact that much of our memories and noemata seemed to pour into this body. However, that was solely from my perspective. In retrospect, it’s possible that this body is a vessel in the literal sense in which it serves as a waypoint between my headmates’ world(s) and our headspace.
There are members who don’t leave, though. Ade and Quinn stick around since they theoretically should be dead in their worlds. On the flip side, the only member who doesn’t leave their realm is Cap. He’s the leader of a whole space crew, so he rarely stops by in our inner world. Instead, he talks to me and whoever else is present through his radio. For a connection so far away, his alternative is surprisingly efficient.
It’s not just us here, either. We’re accompanied by habitans, which is the only autocosm-based term we use. A habitan simply means someone who isn’t one of us. They aren’t someone or something I identify as nor are they a parallel life that I have. Nonetheless, they still live alongside the autocosm.
How habitans exist in our headspace can differ. For example: there’s my dæmon, Maxwell. As a dæ, Max is a thoughtform segmented from my subconscious. He takes the form of a raggiana bird-of-paradise; previously, he was a rainbow boa. His position as a habitan isn’t the same as say, Rina and Hachi, who both entered our headspace as accidental soulbonds. Since many of our daytrippers have left permanently to attend to their own matters, we have a total of four habitans. Our Scrivener Construct is the fourth and final habitan of our collective thus far.
Regarding those of us within the autocosm, we don’t have roles. Although Quinn, Ade, and Bea motioned in favor of having roles and offered to take up roles of their own, we came to the conclusion that collectively establishing roles would be inconsiderate of our selves who’re more active within their own realms. Ultimately, if someone wanted to perform a specific duty within our headspace, then they’re free to do so on their own accord. However, no one is required to do the same.
Recently, Quinn took up the role of being our protector. Although he has a rough history with guarding, he decided to take up this role anyway because he was actually given a choice unlike his past experiences.
Despite being such a wild card, Bea took up the role of a protector as well. While Quinn protects the interior of our headspace, Bea oversees travel to and fro from the headspace, making sure folks reach their destinations safely. They also keep an eye out for any beings from outside of our collective, allowing or denying access to the headspace if need be. No one gets in and out without Bea knowing. Makes sense since The Beyonder, in-source or otherwise, is as far-reaching as it gets, metaphysically speaking. I guess that’d also make them a gatekeeper, but they’re admittedly not fond of that title.
In Ade’s case, he took up the role of being our internal self helper. He helps me keep in touch with everyone and support the structure of our inner world. He and I often share this role by comparing notes and conversing extensively on what we know so far. Scrivener assists us from time to time too. Based on my suspicions last year, there were already signs of them doing that before I came to terms with being plural.
As for me, you could kind of say I’m the “host” since I’m the main one operating the body. To be fair, it’s not exactly a job anyone else wants. Last year, I once thought I stress-shifted into a zonai at my job. However, according to Ade, that “stress shift” was actually him fronting for the first time. It at least explained why “I” suddenly didn’t know how to work the machinery at my job. That’s because Ade’s never worked with earthen technology before! He’s loathed the idea of fronting ever since.
Rina, Hachi, Quinn and Ink are the ones who’re the most interested in joining me while I front. They're like passengers while I drive the car. However, only Quinn and Solai have expressed interest in co-fronting with me. In Quinn's case, he wants to know what it feels like to have a human body again. In Solai's case, it's because it just wants to see the world again without being bothered by quests or otherworldly interruptions.
Occasionally, Cap will ask me to describe things on my end out of curiosity. Although he’s made peace with his Earth going dark, and the fact that our Earth is different from his Earth, he still misses what he once knew. He likes to hear about the mountains I grew up around and the places I’d visit while in college.
Otherwise, everyone else couldn’t care less. Bea has allegedly seen better and is content with the role they currently have. They don’t care to operate the body, despite matching its appearance internally. Makame and Sa'ya'la are disinterested since they’re already familiar with this world as interdimensional travelers, similar to Beyonder.
That then leaves me. Not much of a role when I hold the position that no one else cares to have. I do appreciate Quinn and Solai’s interest, though. I'll take them up on that in the future.
That’s all we have noted for now. Although I’ve had experiences related to plurality since last year, particularly through dæmonism and soulbonding, the reality of being plural is still new to me. We’re not even bothering with -genic labels since it adds nothing of substance to any of us. Our origin is entirely metaphysical. That’s what matters.
All in all, we’re an autocosmic gateway system. Although we technically could label our experience as median, we stick to autocosmic since its terminology acknowledges headmates who aren’t one of us (i.e. alternate versions of me).

i can't stop thinking about super strength as an allegory for dyspraxia
it sounds a little counterintuitive, since super strength usually comes with connotations of peak physical ability, but i think outside of the obvious there's a lot of really fascinating slightly more subtle overlap
a lot of characters with super strength are often shown to be clumsy - if mainly for comedy purposes. they'll misjudge their own strength and break whatever they're holding or throw things a comical distance or a friendly nudge will send an ally through a wall.
while dyspraxia obviously doesn't work exactly like this, the experience of attempting to have my body do one thing only to have it respond unpredictability and, depending on context, sometimes destructively, is altogether too real.
the archetypal example of super strength is superman, and his iconic 'i live in a world of cardboard' speech really illustrates that a core aspect of his strength is the requirement to constantly limit himself and adjust the way his body works, or else risk devastating consequences - essentially masking. he has to be constantly vigilant and aware of every action so he can try and ensure that his body responds Correctly. as much as the stakes are clearly much higher for superman than your average dyspraxic, that’s a very relatable feeling for me.
this can also make for some interesting commentary on accessibility, since the world around him isn't built for him to interact with safely. strong characters struggling to use certain more breakble objects is a pretty regular gag, and depending on the nature of the story, it's fairly common for their genius friends to build versions of objects that are reliable and safe for them - essentially giving them proper accommodations they couldn't otherwise access.
this struggle to interact with the world around them is often shown to worsen when under emotional stress - think mr incredible throwing his boss through a building and breaking his car door. for me, this is very common, as it becomes more difficult to focus on my movements when distracted, and it's always worse when because i'm upset, exhausted or frustrated.
this last point has less to do with existing tropes and more to do with what i think could be an interesting direction to take characters like this. as a dyspraxic person, i often feel a disconnect between what i view as Me and what is My Body. when i attempt to do one thing only to end up doing another, it can feel like my mind is an entirely different entity to my body. i think pushing a superpowered character in this direction could be incredibly compelling, and could be easily combined with the classic internal conflict of "am i my secret identity or my super alter ego?" (for anyone curious this is why i'm so attached to luther from the umbrella academy. his ape body took on a life of its own in my head since the show did nothing with it.)
but yeah, a lot of classic super strength tropes are very relatable for me, and i think with a little push could make for an absolutely brilliant disability metaphor. i've been toying with this as a concept for a while, but i've never quite managed to put a proper character framework on top, forget a plot, so i figured i'd try to get it out of my system for a bit with a tumblr post instead
