I've just started watching the 1975 tv show Wonder Woman, so have a thing:) Diana has just started being Wonder Woman in this.

"I hate this stupid decade and I hate time-travel," Tucker muttered as they snuck around the military warehouse.

"I'll be sure to pass on your dissatisfaction to Vlad," Sam murmured back dryly. "Just, you know, once we stop him from destroying the future as we know it."

"What is his plan, again?" Tucker said as he ducked out of sight of the guards.

"Something about him wanting to found the company that will invent the candies that Danny's mom likes so she'll fall in love with him or some insane shit like that." Sam chanced a look around the corner.

"How is he getting crazier every time, seriously?" Tucker groaned.

"Get ready," Sam said, tapping her friend on the shoulder. "They're about to switch off."

"Why are we doing the sneaking around, when we know a guy who can literally turn invisible?" Tucker muttered.

"Did you want to deal Vlad?"

Tucker's answering grimace was answer enough. They fell silent just in time for two soldiers to come in and talk to the two that were previously there. As they got to talking, Sam and Tucker made a dash for the back of the warehouses, staying low to the ground in an effort not to be seen.

They reached the warehouse successfully without being seen though Tucker was wheezing and leaning heavily on the metal structure they were hiding behind.

"Just... need... a second," Tucker panted out as Sam looked around to make sure they hadn't been spotted.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" A voice came from beside them. Sam had to press a hand on Tucker's mouth to muffle his shriek as she turned towards the sound. She was faced with a woman wearing a red, white and blue costume with bracelets on her wrists and a lasso(?) attached to her hip.

"Who are you?" Sam shot back in an attempt to stall.

"My name is Wonder Woman," the woman said. "I am a superhero."

Tucker frowned, now fully recovered from the mini heart attack he'd experienced. "If you're a superhero, why are you sneaking around instead of asking for access, then?"

"I do not like doing paperwork," Wonder Woman answered solemnly.

Sam looked at her blankly, trying to figure out if the woman was joking or not.

"Fair enough," Tucker answered at her side with a nod.

"Now," Wonder Woman started. "Tell me who you are and what is your aim here."

"Well I'm Tucker," the teen started with a hand on his chest before he moved it to indicate his friend. "And this is Sam. We're..."

"We've received a tip that there would be an assassination attempt on Private Essex," Sam took over smoothly. "We were sent to prevent it from happening without causing a commotion."

"I see," Wonder Woman stated earnestly. "That is a worthy goal. I shall do my best to assist you, once I take down the spies."

"Spies?" Tucker asked with an excited gleam in his eyes.

"Yes," the woman said. "Our intelligence says that spies have infiltrated the army. Luckily, we managed to discover that they will be meeting in this warehouse right now to exchange secret documents."

"Why not combine our efforts and help each other with our mission," Tucker offered.

"Very well," Wonder Woman agreed.

Sam nodded before getting the hard-won blueprints of the warehouse out of her bag and flattening it on the ground.

"I have a plan," Sam started, "First, Tucker and I will sneak through the-"

Wonder Woman hadn't even let her finish before she kicked the door off its handles and sent it crashing to the floor with a yell of "Stop right there!"

"Or, we could do that," Sam deadpanned as every head inside the warehouse swivelled towards them. She allowed herself a sigh. "Let's go." Sam grabbed Tucker and hauled them both after Wonder Woman who was carving a path through the soldiers and leaving carnage in her wake. Tucker turned to her and managed to yell in her ear while continuing walking.

"I take it back, Sam! This is great!"

Sephiroth and Tsizilia both were unwanted and abandoned in their young years. They both didn't have childhood. So, their copings are different. Sephiroth thinks he doesn't deserve things, and pushes people away, but that is just because he is scared people will leave him, like they always do. He doesn't want to get attached.

Tsizilia however, she is a people pleaser to those she loves and holds close. She is also afraid people will leave her, but instead of pushing away, she will blame herself. She refuses to leave people, because of her SAME fear of abandonment. Tsizilia acts tough, but is actually ready to plead if someone she loves was to leave her.

Once turned evil, they both pledged to each other, that there was no leaving. They will ALWAYS be together against everything. And nothing will make them fall apart.

The two WILL burn the worlds for each other without hesitation.

When I scroll through Stony community, it seems like there's some people think that Hickmanvengers has destroyed Stony, and they can never come back to what they used to be. What do you think about that? Also, what do you think about Stony's dynamic recently?

Hi! So you sent me this ask approximately two months ago, and I started writing an answer then, and I wrote what appears to be approximately 50% of an answer and then Life Happened. And I am back but I have literally no idea where I was going with the rest of this answer.

So, here is approximately 50% of an answer to your question! I figured you might prefer having half an answer to zero answer. It's like the "in this essay I will" meme except I attempted to start the essay.

Thanks for the question! I really appreciate getting asks like this.

Has Hickmanvengers destroyed Stony? This is a really interesting question, though admittedly I'm not quite sure how to answer it, both because I think it assumes an amount of… emotional continuity… that I don't think really exists in these comics, and also because in another sense I think it's a question that canon has already answered, although admittedly canon's answer was kind of unsatisfying.

If you'd asked me this in 2015 -- say, right after Avengers #44 had come out -- and I'd just read the very last page of this very long run which ends with Steve and Tony in a fight to the death, I would definitely have had my doubts. I mean, yeah, it's a run that opens with the immediate aftermath of Tony betraying Steve, although we don't know that at the time, and over the course of the run we find out that the Illuminati wiped Steve's mind, that Steve holds Tony personally responsible for this, and that after Steve finds this out, he spends the last third of the run trying to hunt Tony down and murder him. Steve doesn't ever stop or forgive him, and Tony never apologizes. They just beat each other to death (and then get squashed by a falling helicarrier, which kills them first). That's… a lot, you know? It seems reasonable to think that they'd have difficulty coming back from that. I certainly wondered how they were going to come back from that.

I figured Secret Wars was going to do something about that. That didn't end up happening.

But it's also not 2015 anymore, and we have had nine years of canon to decide whether or not Hickmanvengers has destroyed Stony, and the answer seems to be "no, because canon has acted like none of this ever happened." We've seen them. They're friends again. They seem to be doing all right, as friends. And not only are they friends again, they've never mentioned any of this.

So, I have to say, it doesn't look like it destroyed them, otherwise we wouldn't have had things like the team-up miniseries, or that Avengers Annual from a couple years ago, or AXE Judgment Day.

For something like Civil War, we had a bunch of resolution, and while some of it (cough World's Most Wanted) may not have been what fandom would have preferred, we've also had things like Avengers Prime, and then Bendis' subsequent Avengers run, where we see Steve and Tony work through their feelings about Civil War as much as they can, and it's clear that they've dealt with it, at least to some degree, although maybe not as much as we would have wanted. Prior to that, we've had Cap #401, which featured Steve and Tony having a heartfelt conversation and making up in the wake of Armor Wars and Operation Galactic Storm.

For Hickmanvengers? We got nothing. Steve and Tony weren't in Secret Wars, they came back to life afterward, and everything was fine. The only time they have ever mentioned the incursions was in one of the Civil War II tie-ins, Captain America Steve Rogers #6, in which Steve is secretly Hydra Steve and he's trying to put Tony off-balance, and he's asking him why he's on his side now. That's it. And that wasn't even the real Steve. The real Steve's never mentioned it. So as far as we know, they've never talked about it. They've somehow just gotten over it.

Should it have destroyed Steve and Tony? Maybe. I think it depends on how much you feel comics should resemble reality. Because, I mean, obviously, in real life, if your BFF tries to murder you they are definitely not going to be your BFF anymore and also should probably be arrested and you probably don't want to see them again ever in your entire life. So if they were real people, yeah, of course, that would obviously be a dealbreaker right there. Definitely a relationship-ending move.

But comics aren't reality. And I don't just mean that in the same way that any fictional story isn't reality. Comics have had decades to establish their own reality. And that means that totally bizarre things that would never, ever happen in the real world just happen all the time in comics. New York gets routinely destroyed by supervillains and people still live there! Superheroes come back to life every week! The US government keeps building giant robots that will capture, imprison, and usually torture or murder their own citizens if they happen to be mutants! So there's a sense in which you can't expect characters in comics to have the same reactions and attitudes as people in our world, because they're not living in our world. They're living in a world where you can literally be murdered and wake up the next day, 100% fine.

So you're talking about two characters who have tried to murder each other on multiple occasions -- but in a world in which being dead is a very temporary condition. You're talking about two characters who have, at the very least, deeply wounded each other -- but they're also characters who are committing, essentially, state-sanctioned vigilante justice. They solve most of their problems by punching, and what with the mind control and villain AUs and whatnot going around, it's also the case that a lot of superheroes, including Steve and Tony, have just basically hurt each other a lot. These are pretty well-established conventions of superhero comics. They live in a world where the stakes are very, very different than they are here.

I suppose what I'm arguing here is that you can't just straight-up apply our standards of morality from here on Earth-1218 to Earth-616. Obviously the same sorts of things are still wrong, so this was definitely not a great thing to do to a friend and/or loved one, but there's a sense in which it's hard to say that killing a superhero in comics -- or trying to kill them -- has anywhere near the same actual impact as it would in our world, where you don't get to come back to life, period. Which is kind of a problem, because these standards are the ones we would use to judge whether characters have acted in an ethical matter toward each other, and how seriously it is that they've hurt each other.

So how can you actually evaluate, say, how badly Steve and Tony have hurt each other, according to the standards of their world? Well, okay. So Tony wiped Steve's mind. This isn't the first time this has ever happened in comics. This isn't even the first time Tony has done this to Steve; he made Steve forget he was Iron Man in the 1998 Annual. So how bad is mindwiping, as a transgression? And that's kind of interesting, because there's a fair amount of canonical evidence to suggest that the answer is "not very." In the most recent Fall of X comics, Emma Frost mindwipes Kamala Khan's family so they won't remember that she died, so they won't be sad about it. This is presented, in context, as a nice thing to do. A merciful thing. Not, say, a wrong and invasive thing. Here she is offering this at the beginning of the Hellfire Gala:

You wouldn't know this from this Hickmanvengers run, but, historically, Stephen Strange -- who actually did this particular mindwipe -- has a habit of mindwiping people like it's going out of style. It doesn't seem to be a big deal. Not to him, and not even to the people he mindwipes. In the classic arc Avengers/Defenders War, Strange concludes the fight in Avengers #118 by wiping Tony and Thor's knowledge of each other's identities, which they didn't ask for, but which no one seems to be all that fussed about. No one says anything in protest.

Then, as an encore, in Defenders #11, which is the next issue, he mindwipes Nick Fury's knowledge of the Defenders' identities, and then mindwipes the entire world about the same thing, except the Avengers.

For this, Tony calls him honorable. No one is mad. Mindwiping seems… mostly okay, actually?

And even in the 1998 Annual, Steve and Tony make up. Tony makes Steve forget Tony's secret identity. Steve is a little mad about Tony mindwiping him, but he totally forgives him by the end of the issue. They're good. They shake hands. They're friends.

So Hickmanvengers is kind of the odd one out, here. There doesn't seem to be a lot of evidence for "mindwiping someone on Earth-616 is a terrible crime for which the guilty party deserves death." And there is, in fact, evidence that Steve has personally been willing to forgive Tony for this in the past. But here in Hickman's run, for some reason, Steve is much harsher than he or anyone else has been in a comparable situation. So it's very bad within the context of the run, but once you get out of the run and think about it by the standards of the rest of the Avengers comics, it seems like mindwiping Steve… shouldn't be that bad? It should probably at least be forgivable. Steve has previously demonstrated that he can, in fact, forgive Tony for this. It seems reasonable that he could do so again.

Is Steve attempting to hunt down Tony and murder him bad? I mean, yes, but how bad it actually is does kind of depend on how you view death in superhero comics, as above. You'd think that at this point people would suspect that some of these deaths might not permanently stick.

Aaaaand... I think that's all I got. Sorry. I have one more paragraph in my draft: Building on that, the other thing you can do to figure out how bad something is for Steve and Tony is look at how, specifically, the two of them feel about this particular incident. Because that's the thing about superhero comics. The events are unrealistic, larger than life battles that could never happen. But the feelings? The feelings are real.

I have no idea where I was going with this, but maybe I was going to talk about whether Being Really Mad counted for something.

can u elaborate abt s4 not feeling like st? i don't disagree but i'm curious what ur thoughts are. i also felt s3 really didn't feel like st, like it's such a tonal shift from the first two seasons (and it has a LOT of issues) but i kind of love it anyway so.

before i try to put it into words i have to issue a disclaimer so here we go: i’m not trying to suggest that stranger things was ever like an indie show or underground or had a small fanbase at all, i know that it’s been insanely popular ever since s1 like i fully acknowledge that. however. s4, to me, feels like it was written to maximize online buzz instead of prioritizing the story, more so than any other season, and it worked which makes the fanbase feel different.

the first three seasons were obviously insanely popular and they did have these big moments that became referenced to death. i mean s1 alone spurred the whole barb obsession, the pink dress blonde wig el halloween costumes, the recreations of joyce’s light wall, the eggo jokes, plus people just went crazy like inviting david harbour to their weddings and shit. but that was all…natural. prettymuchit’s eric striffler talked about this in their stranger things commentary track so i’m ripping from him but he essentially said, in reference to s1, it’s insanely impressive how effortlessly the show managed to create iconic imagery that feels like it’s from an 80s movie in 2016. the duffers know that, so every season they ramp it up more and more to try to capitalize off that success. and sometimes i don’t mind it! i know people took issue with steve & dustin in s3, complained that their dynamic was being strung along just for memes or whatever, but to me their bond still felt genuine and authentic in that season so i personally was cool with it.

s4 just feels…rushed. which is insane because they had 3 years to work on it. purely speculating here, i think perhaps the duffers and netflix knew that it’d been forever and people were starting to forget stranger things, so all those rewrites and added content were kinda written with the idea of maximizing viewership in mind. that’s how we get ideas like: creating a fan favorite character whose imminent death is shoved down your throat so hard that the actual moment just rings hollow, shock killing and then un-killing max, bringing stancy back out of nowhere, starting and then dropping multiple storylines as the season progressed, giving el and hopper the exact same storylines they had in season two, having brenner take up insane amounts of screen time, etc etc etc. just…bad choices! and bad choices that you can tell were manufactured to either go viral (eddie and max) or start debate (stancy) while basically forfeiting the quality of the show in the process.

okay here’s where i’m gonna get bitchy. again i know the shows always been popular, and i like eddie, but eddie….took away a lot of the fun of the fanbase. and this is coming from someone who writes eddie fic!! i love him!! but i hate when any one specific character just completely monopolizes all content and conversation about a show, and among casual fans eddie completely 100% did this. you cannot see a single tweet about ST without thousands of replies all being like “is eddie coming back??? is eddie alive?????” and it just annoys me! i don’t like it! it makes the fan reaction and aftermath of this season just…different than the others and a lot less fun.

i think for me the different vibe all comes down to the fact that i didn’t like season 4. i was really disappointed after i finished it and honestly very sad i remember texting em being like “i don’t want to admit i’m disappointed because then that makes it real” but it’s been 5 months now and i can fully say: i was disappointed. it wasn’t what i was expecting, it wasn’t what i wanted, it was just not the quality of the show i know and love! which again is all subjective! and there’s a lot of good moments from it, but s4 just doesn’t hold a candle to the other 3 and it’s somehow impossibly made me …. not excited for s5. which i didn’t think was something that could happen!!

Remus and Nimrod, or Romulus and Nimrod, depending on whether you're using the name of his park persona or in life! Either way, I know I've talked to DEATH about these two in the discord but it NEVER HURTS TO DO IT AGAIN!

I love Remus and Nimrod, I don't care!! It's T4T but with the flavor of forever being trapped in a hell of other people's mistakes and being helpless to change a single thing about it. But you have each other, right?

The world around you is forever changing and yet you're still forever trapped in this facsimile of the happiest place on earth, constantly put in a position to run in place but never go anywhere. No time to grieve yourself or the world that you left. You're a kid and you're dead, you're dead and there's nothing you can do about it, you can't leave. Your family and friends are growing old and dying and you can't be with them. You're trapped here, this wonderland of lights and sounds and it's torture, you died here, you hate it here, you want to go home. But you can't, you never can, you're trapped here outside of time. But... you're not alone, there's another person with you, they're just as shaken up and scared, but they're with you. A part of you feels like you need to act strong and unphased for them, be a friend, you're here forever together after all, but at a certain point, you stop ACTING. You are strong, they make you FEEL strong, more and more people come and they're looking to you and your friend for support and guiding strength. You're at the center of things, and things are still awful but, you're together, you feel whole, that's gotta count for something!

Remus and Nimrod are an OTP, but more in the innocent sense of lost kids finding strength and security in each other and the love and camaraderie of leading the merry band of the dead in the park that never sleeps!

They ARE, both in terms of jeering and teasing from the park kids and in terms of dynamic, the responsible, reassuring figures when it comes to keeping things running. Your cool older brother and his best friend, whose friendship you yearn to find with someone else, but you won't understand the truth behind for years! Remus and Nimrod, they're a pillar, as long as they aren't freaking out, everything feels like it will resolve itself. They're the oldest, they know best. They didn't really choose that responsibility for themselves, god knows, Remus would have you believe he loathes all of the park kids, but the responsibility came naturally and it was the invisible growth that brought them together!

That's a basic synopsis of how they came to be, at least in my mind. I truly feel like they're one of those couples where like, they don't call each other boyfriends but they 1000% are to anyone looking, they just haven't labeled themselves as such!!!

I just!!! I'm so brainrot for them, the fact they weren't confirmed as being together in the show does nothing to stop me. I will ship no one else with my Remus. They are holding hands!!! They have a bond no one else does!!! THE FACT REMUS TOLD NIM ABOUT KIBA !!! The likelihood that Nim KNOWS Remus chooses to go be a separate name because he feels like the brother(or rather son) killed to found Henley's park and steward in the party that never stops! Nim caught between genuine worry and terror for Remus as much as he is genuine loyalty and love for him! The fact Remus didn't hesitate to step back on his own rules to let Nim's auntie into the park and held him while they broke down into tears!

I don't care, they may be a bit more on the platonic end of relationships, but there is nothing about them that doesn't scream (after)life partners through choice and love!

You are one of the only people I really see on here that posts anything about ashton/laudna (and your posts always make me laugh) and I was wondering when you first started shipping the two of them?

Personally, I started to become fond of their relationship in episode 2 when Laudna first introduced Pate to the group. Ashton was so entertained and expressed his interest and how he never wanted it to end. It stood out to me that everyone else was in a way holding back (or outwardly expressing) their discomfort, with Imogen even saying that she never got used to it, even after two years of traveling together. It made me happy that Laudna had at least one person in the group who wasn't immediately put off by her creepy nature. Ashton and Laudna were already two of my favorite characters and I love their dynamic.

I also never really understood why this ship is not as popular as some of the other ships. I'm not bashing other ships at all, but the disinterest in this relationship is interesting when looking at it through the lens of someone who has been shipping them most of the time. idk it just makes sense to me.

i just love how surprisingly honest and healthy their relationship is and I just wanted to know your thoughts.

Oh this is so sweet!! I’m glad my tomfoolery makes you laugh <3 

As for when I started shipping them, that was way back in March of this year (I rarely start shipping characters right away, hella impressed how early you were on this shit), I had enjoyed their dynamic before that but what really got me on board with them as a ship was this post by svartalfhild (which they’ve expanded on since initial posting). They did a great job articulating and consolidating everything I like about Ashton/Laudna 😊 

As for what /I/ like about them personally, that includes the whole Brick Shithouse/Breakable Bird-Boned Waif dynamic, most recently highlighted in the latest episode of Ashton (the barbarian) making sure to look out for Laudna (the squishy spellcaster) during the fight with Werewolf Chetney  I also enjoy their contrasting personalities. Ashton’s exterior is very rough but actually has a heart of gold, while Laudna is the outwardly happy-go-lucky type but has a lot of darkness hiding behind that bubbly exterior. Neither shy away from the other’s interior or exterior and I feel like they help bring their more hidden aspects out of each other for the better  They both have a similar background of “physically fucked up after traumatic experience” (I even made a meme about that lol) which I think gives them a pretty unique point of common ground  Something you talked about was how Ashton genuinely enjoys who fucking weird and out there Laudna is, with Pate being a great of that. While everyone is horrified or just put off by something Laudna created as a coping mechanism to keep herself going crazy with loneliness, Ashton thinks it’s incredible, exemplified by him getting Pate a suit and never hesitating to interact directly with Pate  And something I mentioned to a friend a couple months back was how Ashton is touch adverse (this was before we knew about his chronic pain), whereas Laudna likes to be physically close with others. Ashton only seemed to be ok with physical touch when it’s violent, ie not wanting a massage at the spa but diving head first into a fight at the Ball, so I figured Laudna being so touchy feely would be great in getting Ashton to accept positive physical touch. But then even after learning that his touch-aversion is the result of chronic pain from his Kintsugi scars, I still think Laudna could be a positive source of physical touch for him since her cold dead skin could bring some pain relief for him 

So yeah while this isn’t /everything/ I like about their relationship and dynamic (I’m not the best at right meta or articulating my thoughts like this lol), these are definitely some of the main things I love about them 😊 

I am hoping as more time passes and Ashton and Laudna have more moments together, more people will catch on to them and join in on this fun little ship, I think the lack of interest or just general awareness stems from a lot of attention being focused elsewhere   Tho by-gods am I going to annoy this fandom with my Tombstone shenanigans and maybe even pspsps a few into joining us 😁    But anyway, I’m so glad you like my shitposts (even the ridiculously cringy ones 😁) and here’s to The Punk King and Undead Goth Queen of our hearts🖤

Favorite thing about them: If I had to put it in one word, that'd be tenacity. As Yuugo himself put it, he doesn't even know what giving up means, no matter what sort of adversity he faces. This persistence is honestly admirable for someone who grew up in an environment that relentlessly pushed him down at each and every turn, and it's a quality I strongly respect.

Least favorite thing about them: Yuugo's single-minded approach to things is usually endearing, but sometimes it can be rather frustrating. One such example is choosing to duel Yuuri as payback for kidnapping Rin... instead of -you know- going back to find Rin himself? I struggle to even justify that by way of magical fuckery, because as far as was shown, Yuugo was very much himself when he made that decision.

Favorite line: Would it be cheating the question if I say too many to count? Because it's true. This boy says the dumbest things sometimes, but he also has his sweet moments and I love every single one of those. That said, Clear Wing's summon chant deserves an honorary mention. I think it's very neat.

brOTP: Imma throw a curveball and say Yuuya. I was always intrigued by the idea of possible interactions between the two, and the interactions we got in Yuugo's Duel Links event did not disappoint at all!

I just think they're very neat together. They're both adorkable idiots who can't seem to hold the braincell right, and the small differences between them only make the dynamic more interesting. They're also a lot more perceptive than they might let on, and I think that'd lend itself well to interactions where one of the two is feeling down. I'd love to see more of these sillies together, honestly. Please let them tag together sometime.

OTP: I kid you not when I say my primary reason for shipping him with Rin is because of the ship name pun (Ringo is literally just apple in Japanese), BUT! I've come to appreciate it a lot more overtime, because it's actually pretty interesting for a cliché ship dynamic if you squint hard enough. There's a lot of ways to interpret their relationship, and a fair amount of room for emotional growth on both sides too. I think it's nice, but alas, we never really got much of it onscreen.

nOTP: I don't know chief, I just don't see what's there to ship in his and Yuzu's friendship. I guess it does offer the interesting concept where they're both trying to cope with the loss of their loved one through the other, but that just.... sort of rubs me the wrong way. I see them as great friends, but nothing past that at all.

Random headcanon: I think we can all agree that Yuugo's entire demeanor just screams ADHD. Strong hyperfixation on one interest? Check. A tendency to ramble at the smallest prompt? Check. A general inability to just hold still? Check. A crippling case of constant airheadedness? Check!

Unpopular opinion: Not sure if this really classifies, but I actually really like how they handled the "Fusion" joke in the EN dub. Seeing them try and pull a new wordplay every time is mildly amusing at worst and downright hilarious at best, and my personal favorite is the one where he says his name and the Obelisk Force reply with "Yugo? You go where?"

the first character i ever fell in love with: Raine. Even as a teenager she was my favorite and I loved her immediately.

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: I actually think I used to really like Zelos and found him hilarious when I was a teenager myself, and now I'm like 😨 about half of what he does and says. Yikes, bro. It actually makes me wonder how differently he would be written if the game was coming out for the first time now, because a lot of the stuff in the game just would NEVER fly these days.

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: Ah. Behold, my personal cringe: I used to ship Kratos/Raine. It didn't last very long because my fellow shippers in 2004 made me abandon ship entirely & do a heelturn toward my current OTP out of pure spite. If I'm being honest I was only shipping it because they were the only two adults in the party for a while, anyway, so it wasn't a serious attachment. 🙄 But like, it should be noted that this happened while I was in the middle of writing a love triangle fic. I'm not over those adorable skits where Genis asks for advice from others on what present to get for her and they all collectively give him the worst advice imaginable and he ends up buying her a whetstone because he KNOWS HER AS A PERSON and she LOVES THE GIFT. Currently thinking about the glowduo sibling dynamic. Here are some scenarios and other things I made up in my head to distract from the demons.

Aimsey being the shorter, older sibling and being CONSTANTLY teased by Ranboo for it

Aimsey and Ran staying up till ungodly hours and sending each other the stupidest memes known to man, but laughing so hard they can barely breathe

The absolute chaos they cause on Twitter when they are on Discord calls with each other

When they hang out, Aims is curled up with Ran watching random TV shows until they both fall asleep

Going out to a cafe and aimsey making fun if ran for not liking coffee and trying to convince him to try their plain coffee

Aims constantly playing with rans hair

Their lighthearted bickering that seems so real that if you didn't know they were joking you would think they were genuinely mad at each other

Each of them having an amazing support system in each other, a shoulder to cry on, someone who truly knows how they feel, etc.

Personal space DOES NOT exist with these two. They are all over each other in one way it another. Holding hands, linked arms, hugs, high fives, etc.

Playing on Minecraft servers and terrorizing the place

Days at the beach where Aimsey will try their damnedest to tackle Ran into the water and try to waterboard them (again)

Just both of them snuggled up together with a blanket while hanging out with the rest of cricket crew, and bill having to keep Tommy from terrorizing them

Anidala. I have gained an honest appreciation for them just through my own journey of getting to know Padme as a writer. Much as Obi-Wan's relationship with Anakin is intrinsic to my understanding of him as a character, so is Padme's love for Anakin. If I'm going to write obidala in any universe, the first question I ask myself is how do I address the 'Anakin of it all'. So in wanting to handle them as respectfully as possible in my own writing, in a way that feels authentic to the character I really, really wish I enjoyed Anidala as a standalone ship more. I have gained a lot of insight into both Obi-Wan and Anakin and added layers to my versions of both characters through my capacity enjoy Obikin. There are some truly great writers out there for them who constantly challenge me to think about their dynamic from new angles. I am dead certain there are equally talented writers for Anidala and I could learn a lot about both characters if I enjoyed standalone fic for them more.

Unfortunately, I think the problem is I'm not sure that the things I love about Padme are the things Anakin loves about Padme and vis versa. As a result I must content myself with the great fic out there in the OT3 realm and the discourse I see on tumblr to help challenge, inform and layer my own understanding of them as couple.

May I direct your attention to the 30k+ of headcanon I am subjecting all of you to in the form of fic?

Honest to god, that's all 'A Trap of Your Own Making' is. Just me and my little personal headcanon attempting to bob and weave through the minefield of the SW universe.

On a more general note a few head canons that commonly show up as I shape story ideas anytime I'm working with these two:

Padme had some type of crush on Obi-Wan pre-Anakin. I play with the intensity and the duration depending on the story, and context.

Obi-Wan and Padme had/have a friendship/relationship that existed separate from Anakin. Again the timing of this relationship, context, and intensity moves a little. But I take it as canon, that both of them hold each other in a regard that stands separate an apart from simply being Anakin's Master/Brother/Best Friend; and Anakin's Crush/Lover/Not So Secret Wife

As a result of that relationship, Obi-Wan developed feelings for Padme that at the very least walked right up to the line of platonic. Whether and when he acknowledged those feelings (if ever). What he did or would have done as a result. And whether they were ever reciprocated entirely flexible. But really, let's be honest he would have done nothing. He would have lied to himself forever.

But since I'm guessing with 'prompts optional' piece, what you were really asking for was a fic excerpt, right? Okay, since Trap is just all my obidala headcanons shoved in one fic. Here we go, very rough cut of the opening section of Chapter 6 of Trap. Under the cut for "spoilers"

It take three days for the panel hearing the case against Gunray to return a verdict of guilty, and less than two hours for his advocates to file notice appeal. Padme struggles to maintain her composure as she listens to the Republic prosecutors explain that given circumstances Gunray will likely be released on his own recognizance while the appeal progresses through the courts.

Finally, her anger gets the better of her and she stands, cutting off the senior prosecutor mid-sentence.

"Well it seems this exercise has proved entirely pointless. Tell me gentlemen, what precisely is the point of having a law of the Republic if one may by virtue of having a sufficient number of credits, continue to avoid the exercise of those laws indefinitely?"

Doesn't bother staying to hear their answer. There's nothing they could say anyhow.

On their way out, she instructs Corde to see to their departure within the day. Anakin returned planet-side the day after the defense rested. Obi-Wan's been unavailable ever since, and she finds Coruscant has lost much of its luster in his absence.

There's nothing for her here anymore.

She forces herself to wait until they have at least left the surface before finally giving into the impulse to comm him. Holds her breath waiting for the signal to connect, and tries not to read to much into it when the link is declined.

He warned her she would never be the priority. She can hardly fault him for the fact this proves true.

There's a message waiting for her when she returns from reviewing the recommendations from her advisors regarding what Gunray's appeal means for Naboo's ongoing dealings with the Trade Federation going forward.

I heard. I'm so sorry.

She cries when she reads it. Locks herself in her cabin, puts her back against the door and sobs. Screams. Rages. Let's herself feel it all for the first time in years. Let's herself be weak with it, irrational about it, because for the first time in forever she feels like she can.

And it's so stupid. Because it's nothing really. Just words. Just five simple words. Probably dashed off with barely thought. Five, simple, stupid, wonderful words that mean there's someone out there who cares about nothing more complicated or consequential than how she's doing. Not the intricacies or the implications. Not the fallout or response. Not Naboo, or even Amidala, really. Just her. Just Padme.

Fuck Hope

This is basically me being mad at myself for still having some feelings for my ex, missing him, and deep down still hoping that he'd regret breaking up with me. I hate how even after almost a year when he's clearly happy with someone else, I still wake up every day wishing things were back to what they were before. Hope really is a double-edged sword.

Because of my contradicting emotions about how I feel about my ex, they don't get along well right now. XD Eufrene miraculously still tries to see the good in him and desperately wishes he'd come back. She's the part of me that romanticizes the good times I had with him and still clings to the illusion he created of being a kind-hearted person. However, Antera knows that holding on to hope is only causing her (me) to feel more heartbreak. Also, Antera's that part of me that'll seemingly forever hold resentment and anger for my ex cheating on me and leaving me for someone else. Her ability to hold a grudge is no joke.

Think about this dynamic like the characters in Inside Out.

God, this sounds so cringe when I write it out, but it just makes perfect sense in my head!

I tried making this kinda funny by basing this off that meme with someone giving the middle finger to a crying cat, but I don't know that joke lands lol. It was hilarious in my mind until I drew it.

As for the process of creating this, this drawing was me experimenting with trying a different style again. I tried using a charcoal brush for lineart/shading in Photoshop instead of the usual round hard pressure brush I use and drew the lineart with slightly thicker lines this time. I was going for this rugged, dark look, but it just ended up looking wrong to me. Lowering the lineart's opacity saved it a bit. This is disappointing because I see other artists draw with even thicker lineart and it looks good when they do it XD 

Right now, I don't know if I should keep using textured brushes, or go back to my smooth lines. I don't think using a charcoal brush worked as well in this image because of the thicker lines, but it did work for my Dr. Two-Brains drawing.

Probably because the lineart was thin. On the other hand, drawing and shading with the hard-pressure brush is just so satisfying, but I feel like I could achieve a darker art style if I use textured brushes.

Speaking of brushes, I used these embroidery brushes (by NadinePau-stock) for Antera's sheer sleeves to make them look like lace. You can barely see it because she's mostly in the dark foreground, but I still think it was a nice touch. c:

Drawing this was also a challenge too. It's rare that I draw multiple characters where not only do I have to draw them from different angles, but also in different spaces relative to each other. I really tried my best with using references and all, so I hope I got the perspective right.

Another challenge was trying to shade in different textures. I used the same brush for everything, but I redesigned Eufrene a bit. She's one of those baby dolls that have a plastic/rubber head, and a plush body, (like this one: www.ebay.com/itm/233705053614) which is why her neck looks weird. XD But hey, that's what the references on this type of doll showed me.

So I started off cell-shading her face and used soft shading on the rest of her body, but halfway through rendering, the filters, and other shadow layers I added to the characters....overshadowed that.

I know she looks cuter when I first drew her, but I wanted her design to reflect my deteriorating mental health, so I tried to make her look weirder and creepier looking. Especially with her face, I wanted to exaggerate that chubby face that these baby dolls have. I'd like to think that her first image portrays her (me) in a slightly better mental state (not like I was better at the time of that drawing lol) and that my OCs start to look better as I heal.

And my OCs look weird and cursed as fuck in general because I want to go out of my comfort zone, and create a horror/ gloomy-like art style.

I have more OCs, and I'm gonna try to make them look just as cursed as these two XD.

And then there's the usual challenge of drawing different emotions other than having characters smile all of the time. I think I did okay this time.

Overall, I'm on a roll with this because it hasn't even been a week since I drew Dr. Two-Brains, yet I still finished this. That is extremely rare, and I really hope my energy doesn't run out. I think this was mostly because I drew this during my days off from work, but I actually did something instead of just rotting in bed and scrolling through social media all day. I still feel depressed and heartbroken, but drawing things like this helps me out a little. Every time I finish a drawing; I feel so accomplished like I'm getting my shit together X'D

Unfortunately, I have to do a lot more than just drawing if I actually wanna get my shit together, but it's a start.

okay, i’m finally getting around to writing this, and uhh ill say its for aro week too. this is written as an aro person directed at alloromantic people. when i refer to writing, i’m kind of using it as a general term for creative works. Here’s me throwing my hat in on the question:

Can you ship aromantic characters?

and my answer is,,,,, actually a question. Why do you want to ship aromantic characters? 

I want alloros to realize that for a lot of aros, we do not get to see ourselves represented often. I can actually count on like one hand how many popular canon aro characters there are, and on the whole, none of their identities are respected. people constantly try to weasel their way out of actually writing aro characters, or they just ignore or deny their identity outright. fandom spaces (hell creative spaces in general) are at best not welcoming to aros, and at worst actively hostile towards us. So when the first question brought up when a character gets canonically confirmed as aro is “okay cool but can i ship them???” or “that’s nice but how can i still write about my fave ship that involves them??” i want to fucking scream. its a slap to the face and it shows that people really do not give a shit about aros. you say stuff like that and all i hear is “my fictional ship is so much more important than representing your marginalized minority identity” so instead of me just sitting here and saying “yes you can totally ship aro characters, as long as you’re respectful!!!” i’m saying “can you stop and think why you want to shove an aro character into a romantic relationship at the first chance you get?? maybe you have some arophobia you haven’t worked on?? maybe since we live in an amatonormative world, you’re letting that influence your views??” because that question being the first thing out of your mouth when you see a character you like confirmed as aro? that’s already disrespectful towards aros in my book.

So back to my question, Why do you want to ship aromantic characters? is it because you can’t write characters without them being in romantic relationships? or because you think a character without a romantic relationship is boring? Because if so, that’s a bad reason and it sounds like amatonormativity is rotting your brain. 

Is it because you just really like a ship with the aro character? Because you can write two characters with a strong relationship without writing them as a couple. A strong friendship can hold just as much power as a romantic relationship.

Is it because fuck aros, i will write what I wanna write and I don't wanna write this character with their canon identity? because then you’re just an arophobic asshole that needs to work on your shitty opinions. aro representation is just as important as any other lgbtqia+ representation.

Now if you’re reading this and thinking “well i heard aros can be in queerplatonic relationships!” I want you to think for a second. Are you writing a qpr or are you writing a romantic relationship with the serial numbers filed off? Have you talked to aro people or read stuff actually written by us? because, yes, some qprs can look a lot like a romantic relationship from the outside, but that’s just it, you’re looking at it from the outside. qprs are more than just “romantic relationship with extra steps”, and i think it’s really telling how many times i see alloromantic people saying they’re depicting an aro character in a qpr, not a romantic relationship, but then they never ever make any effort to distinguish the qpr from any other romantic relationship they write or draw. It just feels like qprs are getting used by alloros as a gatcha any time an aro person objects to how they depict (or don’t depict) aromanticism. if you want to write a character in a qpr then go for it! but you need to actually do research, talk to aros, get multiple opinions and not just take the first opinion that agrees with you and run with it.

“But what about headcanoning a character as arospec?” now i will say before i go into this, i am aro, not arospec, so if an arospec person wants to come in and correct me at any part here im happy to listen. but my problem when alloros bring up arospec identities is a very similar problem to how qprs are often depicted. I remember when Peridot Stevenuniverse got confirmed aro (she did, do not argue this with me) people were jumping over themselves to assure everyone that “a character getting confirmed as aro just means they are any arospec identity” which,, uhh,, not true? i mean if an arospec person wants to see a canon aro character as, say, aroflux, i’ve got no problem, aro and arospec people can do what they want really. but, i do have a problem with all the alloro fans who were spreading this. because, do you really see the character as demiromantic? or are you using that identity to deflect criticism from erasing aro identities? are you actually trying to write a good depiction of a demiro person? or are you just writing normal ship stuff and slapping a “uwu ive never felt romantic attraction until i met you! and now i will act exactly like any alloromantic person!” at the beginning? being in fandom spaces, i do see the occasional fic actually depicting an aspec identity (i say aspec her because aro is so rare that most of these examples i’ve seen have been acespec identities rather than arospec) but like 99% of the time, that’s written by someone who actually shares the identity. before you use our terms and identities to cover your ass when you erase us, consider not fucking doing that. consider listening to all aros and getting our thoughts and input. 

And last here is “but what about romance positive aros?” now i think most of what i’ve said previously can be applied here. the only thing i wanna add is, i think its very interesting that almost every time i see non aros depict aros, they always write them as very into romance, very open to be in romantic relationships, and very quiet about their aro identity. despite the character in canon not showing any of these traits. romance positive aros are good and important, but not every aro is romance positive. there’s quite a few of us that are romance repulsed, and alloros only depicting aros as super romance positive no matter what is suspicious to say the least. if an aro character is shown to be open to participating in romantic activities in canon then of course write them that way. but if an aro character is shown to be uninterested in, or even actively against romantic activities then respect that too.

so, to wrap up my thoughts in this ramble: please ask yourself why you want to ship aro characters so bad, because if the only reason is that amatonormativity has brainwashed you into not being able to write, or draw, or do anything with a character without them being in a romantic relationship, then you uhhh need to work on that, that’s honestly a writing/creative flaw imo. if you like the relationship dynamic between an aro character and another character, consider making them friends. friendship is not less powerful than romantic relationships. nobody is ever too old for the power of friendship trope. If you’re erasing an aro character’s identity because fuck aros, then fuck off somewhere far away from me and work on your bullshit. qprs, arospec identities, and romance positive aros are all very real, very important parts of the aro community, but please talk to other aros about them and actually make an effort to understand how these things work, dont just assume. And also don’t use these things as a way to erase aro identities and cover your ass if get called out. its disrespectful towards all aros.

The most important thing to do before writing or creating work with aro characters is to talk to aros, and not just the aros that agree with you. look up what a qpr actually is, learn how aros experience their arospec identities, talk to aros with multiple outlooks on romance. and if you can’t bring yourself to reach out, at least read through our own writings, whether that’s fiction, or informational posts, fuck, look through our memes if u wanna. Just please actually make an effort.

So, Can you ship aro characters? its complicated. look at trends in your fandom, question why you want to, and do research. Be an aro ally, listen to us. That’s really the most important thing.

Listen, this ain't my first fan rodeo, and not even the first fan rodeo where I've been directly or indirectly accused of being some sort of pervert or delulu. I've been in fandom spaces since I was a teen, I was shipping mlm couples when queerbaiting in TV shows was still something that was seen as the norm rather than some cheap disgusting trick. I was there when fanfic spaces saw "slash" fics as something "different" and to be tagged with a more mature rating even when they just looked at each other.

I was in BBC's Sherlock's fandom and I shipped Johnlock during the hiatus between S3 and S4, at this point I'm not even feeling it when people call me delulu or a weirdo.

So, yeah, take this with a grain of salt: as a person who has seen thousands of times fandom drama unfolding and has lived too much of it... This whole situation is so ridiculous it makes me laugh. Like, yeah, it's maddening how people will blame anyone and everyone because they don't even see their own bias and homophobia, granted, but like... It also makes me laugh for the sheer dumbassery of the reasoning behind it all?

Like... Y'all are getting mad and for what? Because it sure as hell isn't the invasion of privacy, since y'all are watching the same content we're all watching and you're paying to see it the same way everyone else is. If you don't want to "invade their privacy", you should just... Stop watching content that isn't their music videos, RUN episodes or interviews. Memories and any kind of dvd/video that shows what they're doing behind the scenes shouldn't be part of their job as musicians, and therefore we're intruding in their privacy... Or aren't we?

Or maybe it's more nuanced than that: maybe the content they release on dvd/on their official channels is part of their job as entertainers, and it's been approved, and it's a small window THEY are granting us.

You know what's the REAL invasion of privacy and what REALLY invalidates someone autonomy? When you, who maybe aren't even paying to see that content (which is something I understand, like, dude, I'm not covered in money either), DEMAND what kind of behind the scenes content you want when I swear ABSOLUTELY NO ONE has asked you. Once again: you don't like it? You think it's some huge invasion of privacy? Don't buy it. Don't interact with it. Convince your friends to do the same. For all I care, just go and petition to boycott this kind of content. I know you won't do it, because... That's the thing, isn't it? It's not the invasion of privacy that bothers these people.

Y'all aren't mad because we get into their business or else you would have gotten real mad when we were privy to REAL private moments like people crying their hearts out.

No, no. Y'all are mad because it's "shipping content" and "fanservice" which apparently bothers you because it lacks authenticity.

Pick a side, lovelies: either you DON'T want to invade their privacy, and thus all the content they release should be focused on what fans want to see, or you WANT to know how they interact TRULY in private.

And here's the catch: "shipping content" can be anything. Shipping existed WAAAAAYYY before the word for it was invented, same way with fanfictions. Shipping means, literally, "seeing two (or more) people interact and thinking they would make a good romantic pair". That's it. That's quite literally it. Everything else is just some nuance of the concept of shipping, but at its core, it's nearly impossible to ban all shipping content when it's a group of seven people, because they should for real go in social distancing mode to do so. Most people who have parasocial relationships tend to have "ships" whether they know it or not, because we've all, at least once, looked at a dynamic from the outside and thought "oh man they look cute together". So, even if, o dear ones, your wishes were granted... What the hell do you mean by "shipping" content? Should they just film solo clips, avoiding talking about the other members? But wouldn't that be fanservice, since it's focused on pleasing the fans? (Which, ultimately, is what fanservice MEANS, and I hate to break it to y'all but the whole concept behind entertainment and thus all the content BTS releases it's... For the fans. Like, they're not going out of their way to just meet our expectations but they're certainly doing fanservice by the mere act of releasing bonus content.)

But it's not even quite that, is it? Because no one bats an eye if it's Tae kissing Nj's cheek. I've seen no hashtag against everyone - and I mean literally every one of them - wolf whistling at Nj. It's okay to show intimacy... Because they're bandmates and it's okay to be close to someone who you see basically 24/7, I hear you. And it's also okay when people see that and gush over that closeness, because it's such a nice thing to see.

Are y'all mad cause people pointed out there's very little way a bruise that stayed for a whole ass night could be a quick bite? Because that doesn't harm jk, at most makes fun of him and jimin and their poor excuses (seriously, guys, next time consider using mosquitoes or "I was doing stuff". It'll be equally embarrassing but at least the meme will be funny), and it's literally... A fair observation. Like. It's a hickey, people are gonna make jokes about seeing a hickey and poor excuses of covering it up in the exact same way they're gonna make jokes over jimin falling out of chairs. And yeah, a hickey is AT LEAST something that happens in a sensual context. Like, I could understand "people who are extremely familiar with each other will have different body language/touch in areas where usually you wouldn't see friends touching each other", but that's not. Because that's not being delulu or even being a shipper, really, it's just commenting on something that was approved to be shown and discussed in something that was released BY THEM.

Are y'all mad at hybe for showing something that literally fell onto their hands? Cause like, unless someone (I'm counting on Jimin, since as we know Jungkook was busy spinning him round and round and had both his hands busy) called at hybe headquarters to say "yo bang pd substitute, is it okay if I give my friend jk here a hickey? Cause he's being really annoying rn and he has to pay", I highly doubt anyone expected Jungkook to come to rehearsal all neatly marked up. Or idk, maybe someone at hybe asked them "we need Jungkook to come in with a hickey but refuse to say it's a hickey, so that fans will feel reeeeally served." That sounds perfectly plausible too. Or a good marketing strategy.

Now, if you're a big company and your objective is to have some footage of the rehearsals for a concert, and the fandom is too good at noticing stuff for their own good, and one of your artists comes in with a very visible mark, and he and his bff bropal4lyfe come n with a story about how they were playing and a bite happened, you've got three choices: 1. Cut the artist out of aaaaalll the footage. Someone would have noticed the "bite mark" anyway, you best believe that. If you don't want anyone to notice it, you gotta cut him in most of the footage where it's visible. 2. Keep the hickey, discard the explanations. You could do that, but also it would feel a lot more unfaithful to everyone involved. Also they clearly worked their ass off to invent an explanation, come on! They truly tried to do their best inventing something that was not "it's a mosquito bite", they should get some credit! 3. Keep the bite, keep the explanation.

Notice how none of these solutions include the biting never happening because... They couldn't prevent it? The only thing they have any control over is how they're framing each "accident". And that's not an easy job.

So... On whom should we cast the blame now? Ah, yes, I think it's finally time for the ultimate scapegoat of this fandom: Jimin. Which is funny, cause... You know... If this were really about privacy, or being "victims" of shipping... This should be about freeing him too, you know? But obviously Jimin does it for attention, while Jungkook, poor angel that he is, doesn't even know what shipping is.

Furthermore, don't we all know how much Jimin imposes himself in Jungkook's life? To the point where he, multimillionaire man feels compelled to share a car with Jimin even if they're both late in the process. And can't you see how uncomfortable he is, draping himself over Jimin, making Jimin drap himself over him?
