i am obsessing so hard over gale. like, i kid you not, i started out HATING him cause he was eating my artifacts and seemed completely useless in battle. but then i started a second playthru with my bf and i was like 'well im romancing astarion in my main so i GUESS i'll go for the other pretty boy'
....
it was the start of a very, very, very extreme brainrot fest.
so! as I learn more abt him (im in the shadow cursed lands rn, haven't had the sex scene with him yet so i dont know his character super well/im not super confident in portraying him) take this little snippet of wizard angst cause he needs a hug and i wanna give it to him :)

“I reckon it’s sweet.”
“Sweet?”
“Sweet,” he clarified. “And smooth. Dare I say… simple. I must admit, I was somewhat befuddled with the absence of a necessity for complexities; you required no books, no training, no vexatious intricacies– it came naturally.” He remained fixated on a point off in the distance, perhaps watching the quiet rippling of the lake, just off the camp’s coast, undisturbed by the activity that usually stirred during the day.
Peace was a mercy, and an uncommon one, but you felt it, here, with him. Like the eye of the hurricane that stalked you throughout Faerûn, the bloodshed and chaos that ruled your everyday life was far from absent, but it was silenced. Screams that echoed in your ears were muted, momentarily, granting you a glimpse of life before your adventure, before the hunt, before the cult, before the illithid’s influence. It would be short, but the fact that it occurred at all was a miracle.
“Like wine.”
“Wine?” You chuckled, shifting a little closer, his arm coming to wrap around your shoulder, further warming you.
“I predicted bitterness. A bite, or a sting. I’ve read stories about flavorful affections such as these. Stories. Can you believe it?”
“With how much reading you do? I can,” you hummed, resting your head against his side.
“Tales, I believed them to be. I’ve seen love. Red love. Irascible, fractious love. Impotent, paralyzing love. Love like a raging sea. A love that I trusted. A fool I must’ve been.” There’s a short, woe-rooted chuckle that escapes him followed by a thin exhale out of necessity, out of defense. You knew who he was referencing, but you couldn’t bring yourself to mention the name. “Any sane soul would regret it.”
“Do you not?”
“There’s little time in this life– certainly, it offers no such room for regrets. I’ve wasted too many moonrises pondering the past.” His fingers graze your arm, and you allow your eyes to fall closed. “Many a wondrous thing I’ve witnessed. More than a man of my caliber should deserve. In a single lifetime, I’ve experienced more than a library's worth of literature could possibly cover.” He smiles, you can hear it in his voice. “From a mage’s best dreams to a direwolf’s worst nightmares– I’m sure I, myself, couldn’t have asked for a more thorough tour of what this plane, and a few others, have to offer.”
“And yet there’s more.” Your remark is a light-hearted one, as you are sure everyone will have more to reflect on the closer you get to the cure you seek.
But he sighs. A quiet one, restraint tightening his lungs, and you feel unease. “Amongst it all, I have even discovered what I once argued impossible. Simplicity. A priceless simplicity.” This time, when his arm moves, it brings you closer. He craves the contact, the connection struck between you. “Simplicity in love, of all things.”
Your eyes open to find his gaze no longer on the quiet riverbank, and instead on you. There’s a bruise on his left eyebrow, and a cut on the bridge of his nose. He’s pretty, even with the wounds, but you know they sting. A part of you feels guilty for seeing such beauty in his suffering. Deep down you know there is no Gale without suffering.
At a glance, that’s all there is; a bruise, a cut, and a solemn smile. An exchange of pity for one another. Even for yourselves. An agreement, silent but strong.
On further investigation, his eyes hold an unnatural glisten. Only then does it register.
“Gale…”
“It’s what’s best.” You sit up slightly, but you’re met with a gentle hush, and his smile grows, the dimples on his cheeks fired by an unknown audacity. “I’ve come to accept it. It is the decider of my fate– it always has been.”
“There are other ways,” you push out the words, and you find the bite, the sting, that he mentioned. In love, you find the pain.
“Never did I imagine the world outside my tower to hold such beauties. Such contagious fragility. There are no books on this subject. No studies on this exchange of power. What is a puppet to do when he loses his creator? His puppeteer? When he can no longer stand, no longer dance, no longer perform? When obeying is all he knows, what does he do without direction?”
He doesn’t sit up, he doesn’t stir. He looks back out to the waters. For guidance, maybe. For peace. For life. You’re left with no choice but to settle with the tide. A hand comes to rest on the dark imprint below his neck, desperate to find answers where the weave fails.
“I have found simplicity. And, perhaps, that is the final step. I never imagined growing old. I suppose it isn’t meant to be.” He breathes, and you can feel the steadiness of his lungs. He isn’t scared. You can only wonder how long he’s contemplated this decision. “You see me. You look past the strings, my love, but that doesn’t mean they don’t still linger. I am but a man; I am no hero, I am no god. But if your safety is the only accomplishment I ever succeed in, I will lie satisfied in my earthly rest.”
“A few more days,” you whisper, pleading.
“I only ask of you one thing.” Gale inhales, his heart pumping against your palm, pressing closer to his skin, desperate to feel him, to feel more than the orb, to feel more than Mystra’s design. You find his humanity in the tear on his cheek, the hair on his chest, the irregular mock of his heart’s rhythm. You find his humanity in his love, in his hopeless compassion, in his unwavering loyalty. “Don’t let that damned vampire even think about touching me.”
He chuckles, and you do too, pulling yourself into his chest, hugging him close. He repays the affection, lips on the top of your head, his every breath lingering on your scalp. The peace remains, but you fear this may be your last serving of merciful tranquility.
my mom loves aabria iyengar (she is an acofaf die hard fan) and I told her about how aabria has liked a couple of my posts and now she thinks that I am best friends with her
she thinks we met since I'm in school in LA (ish)
so @quiddie my mom says hi and that she's very glad we're friends because she was worried I didn't have enough
i like the idea that lily is one of the smartest people in hogwarts but she's also just like
very clumsy. she drops things, she trips on air, and she's very unlucky too, gum sticks randomly on her hair (mary or marlene always cuts the tips of her hair every month or so because of that), and everytime something like that happens, she makes an odd sound as she snorts and laughs.
because yes, she's clumsy and unlucky, but she's surprisingly positive about it, she finds everything to be very funny, and mary and marlene are so used to it by now that they're always ready to hold her before she falls, take her out of the way of something that's being thrown, or just hold something she dropped before it breaks.
i like lily being a bit of a mess, let her be a bit of a failgirl as a treat, she's adorable, and she's a genius!!!!
(also, mary can't help but look so, so fond and in love with her whenever lily laughs when she trips on the hem of her robes, like she makes the entire day brighter just by smiling)

Howl Pendragon x reader
It feels like the exhaustion is trying to imbed itself within his bones.
Howl struggles past the front door, His feet dragging as the castle door close with a resounding ding! signaling a new and hopefully much more calming scenery outside. He can't think of that now though.
bed, sleep, rest..now...
he could topple over at any moment.
The aroma of hot savory onion soup overtook his senses, he could almost feel the heady warmth of the liquid down his throat, burning away the worries and hardships of the day leaving him sated and drowsy. He could barely wait.
"Oh no you don't." Suddenly, soup didn't seem all that important.
Nimble fingers slip past his shoulders, pushing away his coat and fussing with its buttons. Howl's eyes landed on you blearily as he called out your name dreamily while reaching for you, his fingers smoothing out over any exposed skin he could reach and nuzzling into your blushing neck.
"Missed you." He mumbles quietly, his breath tickling you slightly. He pulled you in tighter as if trying to carve himself into you, trying to mold your bodies and souls into one. Too bad your offending apron and clothes prevented him.
"Poor baby." You coo as you brush through his hair, fingers carding through messily strewn strands and pressing into worn out muscles. "Okay time for a bath, then dinner."
"Nooo diner-"
"No, c'mere." You grinned with an air of finality, ushering him up the stairs ensuring he doesn't try flopping onto the cushy sofas in front of a grumbling calcifer, you're too used to his tricks and it comforts him to fall into your familiar routine. You sneak some more wood to the fire demon, a silent promise from his side to keep the thick onion soup bubbling and the bathtub upstairs equally toasty.
************************
Howl's staring into the soapy water, helplessly letting you wash his hair and scrub the grime off his skin, occasionally he plays with your free hand. you're both so very naked, so very vulnerable yet peacefully cleaning and gently caring for each other. A silly smile overtakes his lips as he remembers his flirtatious attempt for more...unorthodox intentions while you rolled your eyes and cheekily pushed him into the tub.
It should feel like a snug fit in the tub but magic has its perks and you're both settled into a pool of bubbles that would comfortably fit around three to four people. Howl shivers once more while you splashed water onto his richly dark hair. It hung limply over his eyes as you rubbed his back and pressed deliciously into his taught tendons, it took everything in him to not wantonly moan into your ear so he only let soft ragged breaths escape him as he gripped at your palms where you were sat behind him.
He could feel your smirk. You truly were his undoing.
Just as howl was about to let his eyes fall close and sleep to overtake him you pushed at his shoulders and complained loudly.
"Bath time is over you big oaf, get off i cant breath!"
Howl immediately saw his opening to tease you.
"I don’t know” He airly replied, slumping further into you while pretending to sleep and become dead-weight on top of your struggling form “It’s so comfortable here, I could just rest for a while~”
“Howl.” You warned.
“You wouldn’t mind right?”
You tugged at his hair with slight harshness
“Ouch!”
“Out! You’re clean. Now stop pouting.”
************************
Finally in fresh night-clothes, bellies full of soup and crunchy buttery toast, you're longing for sleep but the need to be in each others presence is stronger so you move to the living room in front of calcifer's hearth as he grumbles away about how much work he does around the castle. Howl shushes him with more firewood while you tuck little Markle to bed, before returning to cuddle up on the loveseat with a blanket wrapped round to stay cozy.
Eventually you find yourself preening through Howl's nearly-dry hair again whilst he settles his head against your chest and the rest of his body lays between your open thighs with his back facing you. All is quiet for a moment, only calcifer's crackling and your calming breaths fill the room as you rub at his scalp and untangle stray locks when a thought strikes you.
"Howl, dear."
"Hmm?" He hums tiredly letting one eye open.
"You know, you're a lot like a bird." You put a finger over his lips before he starts scowling about his more beastly raven-like form " In the sense that you always like your hair played with, a lot like how birds like their feathers preened. Especially by their bird partner."
You smiled down at him openly, he couldn't help but smile back.
"Oh? So that makes you my bird partner now, doesn't it?" He had one eyebrow raised while peeking up at you.
"Of course." You grinned, playing along.
"We'd make wonderful Swans then." He said with a serious expression.
"Why is that?" You blinked curiously, wondering why he was reaching closer for your face.
"Because they mate for life.''
and he followed his silent promise with a deep kiss.
BONUS:
“You know, I think you’d make for a wonderful peacock instead. Show off.” You muttered
(note: original image is from HERE (link) - but I edited it to add a wider variety of options.. also added $3 extra to the total, even though I know that makes it more uneven lol, I thought if you're adding 10 whole extra items, the money to spend should at least be increased slightly, if that makes sense..)
Nature - Jegulus - @stag-microfic - Day 20 - 669 words
James sits beside Regulus under the old oak tree near the edge of the Black Lake, the sounds of the castle’s distant chatter and the soft rustling of leaves filling the air. It’s one of those rare moments of peace they’ve carved out for themselves, away from prying eyes and the expectations that come with their respective houses. Regulus has his knees drawn up, arms loosely wrapped around them, his head tilted back as he watches the clouds drift lazily overhead.
James, sprawled out on his back with his glasses slightly askew, watches Regulus instead. There’s something serene about seeing him like this—unguarded, free from the tension that so often coils through his body like a spring. It’s a side of Regulus that not many get to witness, and James revels in it, feels honored by it.
“You’re staring,” Regulus says quietly, though there’s no bite to his words. His lips curve into the smallest hint of a smile, his eyes still on the sky.
“Maybe I am,” James replies, not bothering to hide the warmth in his voice. He props himself up on his elbow, watching the way the light dapples through the leaves, casting soft shadows across Regulus’ pale skin. “You just… look different out here.”
Regulus hums, not fully understanding. “Different how?”
James thinks for a moment, trying to put it into words. “I don’t know. Lighter. Less burdened.”
Regulus turns his head to look at him then, a flicker of something unreadable passing through his gray eyes. “It’s just the quiet,” he says after a pause. “Nature has a way of making everything seem simpler, doesn’t it?”
James smiles, liking the way Regulus’ voice softens when he speaks about something so calm. “Yeah,” he agrees, his eyes tracing the line of Regulus’ jaw. “I think you belong in nature.”
Regulus scoffs lightly. “Hardly. I’m about as far from nature as it gets.”
James shakes his head, reaching out to brush a stray leaf from Regulus’ shoulder. “No, really. There’s something about you… like you’re part of it. Something wild and untamed, but also steady, like the way the seasons change. You don’t realize it, but you’re grounded.”
Regulus frowns, looking down at him with a mix of disbelief and amusement. “Grounded? Me? You’ve lost it, Potter.”
James grins, unbothered. “No, I mean it. You hide it well, sure, but it’s there. When everything else is chaotic, you’re constant. Even when you’re trying to pretend you’re not.” He plucks a blade of grass and twirls it between his fingers. “You think you’re all stone walls and sharp edges, but you’re not. You’re more like… this.”
He lets the blade of grass fall from his hand, watching as it drifts gently to the ground, its movement almost imperceptible.
Regulus stares at him for a moment, then lets out a soft, disbelieving laugh. “I think you’ve spent too much time in the sun.”
“Maybe,” James says with a lazy grin. “Or maybe you just don’t know how much of you is still tied to the world around you. You think you’re separate from it, but you’re not. Nature has a way of reminding us we’re all connected, even when we don’t see it.”
Regulus falls silent for a moment, his gaze shifting back to the lake. The reflection of the sun shimmers on the surface, rippling softly with the breeze. He looks pensive, as if considering James’ words more seriously than he’d care to admit.
“I don’t feel connected to anything,” Regulus murmurs after a long pause, his voice so quiet that James almost doesn’t hear him.
James sits up fully then, leaning closer until their shoulders touch. “That’s the thing about nature, though,” he says gently. “You don’t always have to feel it. It’s there anyway.”
Regulus doesn’t respond right away, but after a moment, he shifts slightly, leaning just a little more into James’ warmth. It isn’t much, but it’s enough for James to understand. Even if Regulus doesn’t quite see it yet, he’s beginning to.
