OKAY- before somebody throws punches, this was just a silly idea I got after seeing that beautiful art of Bernard and Tim hanging from a building and like- the moon is in the background and BERNARD LOOKS STUNNING

Anyway, I saw that and immediately thought "Damn, it kinda has kaito kid vibes with the doves and the suit... WAIT" and it was like my brain just melted. Especially remembering how the first introduction of Bernard shows him, I put his hair of that moment as a wink lol

A tarot/oracle spread I made! I used this one for the new year, and got some interesting results. Amazingly, for the Companion card I pulled a card that signifies the Lady of Flowers, and one card that is "the Unicorn", so that could not be clearer, lol. This year I am working on "gamifying my life" and I want to bring some more play and RPG elements into my practice, which is what inspired this spread.

an Adventure - what is the journey or the adventure that you will go on?

a Divine Boon - a gift from your deity/spirit/the universe/etc. that will aid you on your journey

an Amulet of Empowerment - from where can you draw strength? Who or what is empowering you?

a Companion on your Journey - this can mean anything from a tarot card to a spirit to a deity. Who will accompany you and aid you on your quest?

a Spark of Hope in the Dark - we all know that quests can sometimes lead us to dark dungeons and to situations that can seem bleak. From where can you draw hope?

Do you think there’s any parallels between how Lucifer was God’s favourite and yet was still cast out of Heaven, and the way Zeus treats Apollo ?

Yes and no?

Stick with me.

An important thing to consider about Lucifer's fall from Heaven is that God casted him out because of his hubris - pride. Lucifer tried to rebel against Heaven because he thought himself superior to God and the other angels, especially the Archangels. I (a Catholic) was always taught that God would welcome Lucifer back if he learned to shelf his pride and learn to be a compassionate soul again but...well, *gestures to the Bible* as far as I know he has not done that lol

In my opinion, this is a stark contrast to Apollo and Zeus in ToA (unless you're asking about Mythology them, I've got thoughts about that too). Apollo is Zeus's favorite like Lucifer was God's, but unlike Lucifer Apollo was not casted out of Olympus for excessive hubris/rebelling - though, he has committed those acts before and also has been punished for them in the mythos. In ToA at least, Apollo was casted out because Zeus needed a scapegoat.

Now. I mentioned mythos Apollo and Zeus before, yeah? They're also a contrast to Lucifer and God because Apollo is welcomed back with open arms by his father when he returns from his (many) exiles, Lucifer refuses to bite back his pride and accept the same from God.

Another fun connection between them is found in the Book of Revelation btw (which I have read :3 my theology teacher was too scared to read it so i did and proceeded to yap to the whole class about what the end of the world looked like. she was horrified. lmao.)

There's this scary monster dragon-snake thing called Abaddon, who is a malevolent demon of destruction on disproportionate scales. As an RRverse fan, I of course recognized the similarities to both Python from Greek mythology, and Apophis in Egyptian mythology!

Even more interesting, Abaddon is described as attacking a pregnant woman in childbirth, who is protected by the Archangel Michael. Much like Python attacked a pregnant Leto, and Apollo killed him to protect her.

HOWEVER. THERE IS FURTHER CONNECTION BETWEEN ABBADON AND APOLLO.

VIA THEIR NAMES.

Abaddon is Hebrew for "destruction" and "doom". The Greek equivalent is - wait for it - ...Apollyon, meaning "destroyer".

YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE.

The Greek verb ἀπόλλυμι - AKA apollymi - means "to destroy", AND WAS ASSOCIATED WITH APOLLO'S NAME.
