Sila world is so funny before you get around to the horrors. It's such a funny story if I actually decide on a good way for it to close off I'd love to add it to my list of "I actually want to turn it into a comic someday"

DP x DC AU: Letters and Paper goods are easy to store, and therefore, easy to hide. Danny has drama to monger though.
Tim Drake becomes a ward of Bruce Wayne at the same time the Drake Corporation is crumbling, and his father's health is declining. Dana, his father's physical therapist turned new wife, isn't optimistic these days, and Tim can read the writing on the wall.
Times have changed and Bruce and Dick are treating him with kid gloves. Jason Todd is alive again, been there suffered that. Young Just-Us has proven yet again to be his true family... But Bruce 'welcomes' him home the second the fake uncle is sniffed out.
So, Tim rationalizes, If Drake Corp is going down, then so shall the reason he spent his childhood abandoned. The many, many archeology digs his parents left him for over the years and their many, many stolen historical pieces. Tim is ready and able to get rid of them all.
He first returns the artifacts that have obvious origins to the people with whom they belong. Then it starts to get a little hazy as to where each item stolen is from. The paper goods are the hardest to place.
Years later, Tim has almost completely emptied his parent's old home of their stolen goods. By now, he runs a fortune 500 company and is working as Red Robin. Going through the last of the archives means going through the very last objects his parents ever preferred over his company, and he can't wait to be rid of them.
A glowing green envelope however... this one he feels compelled to keep. He hadn't known it back when he started this project- but somehow his Parents had found objects drenched in the essence of the Lazarus Pits. And it wasn't just one letter, it was dozens and dozens.
Tim Drake knew it would be risky to move them, but he needed to get these letters to an ex-league member to understand what the language of the dead was trying to proclaim.
_____
Danny hates a fetch quest but apparently Ghost Writer is having a bad day. It starts with Danny running by the guys library to have a chat when all of a sudden, the question of certain... ghost relations... came up. Danny is always more than thrilled to hear about how the various ancient-as-in-old ghosts interacted with the Ancients-as-in-yikes ghosts.
Ghost Writer finally admitted to the monarch in training that if he wanted to know so badly, that he could track down Clockworks old letters. They'd been scattered well before Ghost Writer could properly work on the ghost archives (read: was still alive), and it wasn't until he'd long worked on the library that such affairs were noted as missing.
The potential for gossip was just too good! A call home to Sam, Tuck and Jazz to let them know he was on an adventure, and then Danny flew off with little more than some hints by GW and an annoyed nod of cryptic agreement by CW.
Danny goes about wondering Gotham as himself, not yet seeing the need to be Phantom, when he runs into the very guy he was looking for.
"Hey- you don't happen to have a shit ton of letters written in the language of the dead do you?" Danny smiles as innocently as possible as he watches all seven stages of grief play out on the guy's face. Then something changes and Danny can tell that this guy is like, scary competent.
"I do, however, I was double crossed and a shit ton of assassins are on their way to try and take them."
"Uh... Bummer for them I guess? I'll just take them and go- I don't even really need to keep them if you want em back-"
"Assassins. They won't exactly leave empty handed."
"Huh. Well... Wanna come with? These are supposed to have some pretty juicy drama in them." Danny awkwardly places a hand on the back of his neck.
A knife being thrown in their direction was enough to get this guy to make a decision.
"Let's go spill some tea then."
Danny grins as he pulls the guy through a rapidly drawn portal, ignoring the wide eyes he makes. Turns out his name is Tim, and walking him through afterlife drama is the best- how does he know so many dead assassins??? One of these letters is about a guy who took Tim's spleen??

note: Was in the halloween mood and had a craving to write witch reader. Also I apologize for being MIA for a hot minute school has been kicking my ass
In the dimly lit and clandestine lair, you stood amidst a chaotic array of potion bottles, spell books, and mystical artifacts. The air was thick with the scent of arcane ingredients, and the room was bathed in an eerie, pulsating glow emanating from enchanted crystals scattered about. Rows of tall, ancient shelves were lined with tomes containing secrets of the mystical arts.
Your eyes fixated on the ominous pages of the Darkhold stood at the center of the lair, your brows furrowed in concentration. The book seemed to emit an unsettling energy, its dark runes shifting and writhing like a sentient being. Your hands cradled glowing orbs of blue magic, feeling a tingling sensation of power coursing through them.
Your mind crackled with a frenzied electric charge. The relentless grip of sleep deprivation fuels your obsession. The effects of prolonged wakefulness gnawed at your sanity, leaving your thoughts frayed and disjointed. Muscles twitch uncontrollably as if charged by lightning flashing within your wide, bloodshot eyes. Your voice, barely a murmur, subconsciously reciting spells and rituals from the book's ancient pages, the words stumbling from your lips in a fevered trance.
Everything around you seemed louder and more intense than usual as if your senses were on overdrive. It was like your body was a sponge soaking up all the noise and energy in the room.
As you delved deeper into the forbidden knowledge within the Darkhold, a sudden disturbance rippled through the room. The sound of crackling energy filled the air, and a portal of swirling scarlet light materialized before You, Startled, you turned to face the unexpected intrusion.
Emerging from the portal, with a sultry and determined expression, was Wanda Maximoff. Her dark eyes locked onto yours, and she stepped forward with an air of confidence. Despite the anger that still simmered within you, Wanda's presence sent a shiver down their spine.
It felt like seeing a ghost
In the not-so-distant past, you and Wanda Maximoff had been deeply entwined in a passionate and tumultuous love affair Your connection was built on an understanding of each other's innermost desires.
You, a gifted witch in your own right, had always admired Wanda's incredible power. Your initial meeting had been marked by sparks, both figurative and literal, as you recognized kindred spirits in each other. You spent countless nights together, honing your magical skills, exploring the boundaries of your abilities, and indulging in the fiery lust filled passions that burned between you.
But as your love deepened, so did the complexity of your relationship.Wanda's insatiable thirst for power often put her on a dangerous path, seeking forbidden knowledge that few could comprehend. It was during one of her quests for dark magic that everything changed. In a moment of desperation, Wanda cast a spell that trapped you in a false reality—a twisted version of suburban life in Westview. In this artificial world, you lived a mundane existence, blissfully unaware of the magic and powers you once wielded. Your memories were altered, your true identity erased, and Wanda had complete control over your life
For you, it was a nightmare and a dream come true. You oscillated between feelings of betrayal and intense longing. The life she had created for you two was everything you could have ever dreamed of, filled with the perfect haven of your loving family
When the Westview Hex was eventually broken, and you regained your true identity and memories, the rush of emotions was overwhelming. You confronted Wanda, your anger, burned but the love you once shared still lingered beneath the surface. It was a complex and conflicted love, one that was impossible erase
Wanda, haunted by her actions and desperate to atone for her mistakes, fled to find the Darkhold—a powerful and dangerous book of magic that held the key to her quest for the power she would need to reclaim the life that was harshly taken from her.
In an attempt to divert Wanda until they built up the necessary forces to defeat her, Doctor Strange, aware of the dangers that the Darkhold posed, entrusted it to you for safekeeping, knowing that you were one of the few who could resist its seductive pull
At the sight of her, you immediately conjured the dark hold shut, the glowing hues of blue dimmed around you as you lowered yourself to the ground, standing before her.
"Y/n," Wanda purred, stepping out of the portal her voice husky and laced with desire.
Before she could get too close, you crossed your arms in front of your body and threw them outwards. A tendril of blue magic wrapped around her arms and legs, effectively freezing her movements. "What the hell do you think you're doing here?" you demanded, your tone filled with anger.
Wanda smirked, Seemingly amused by your reaction. She could have easily overpowered you, but she wanted you to have your fun. She didn't want to scare you. Not yet, at least.
"Oh, Y/n," she grinned, her eyes never leaving yours. "How I've missed your fiery spirit.”
“You shouldn't be here.”
Wanda's expression grew more serious as she struggled against your magical bonds. "I need the Darkhold, Y/n. It's the only way to undo the chaos I've caused."
Your grip on the magical restraints tightened, and you shot back, "Save your breath, Wanda. Me and you both know you have no intentions of doing that”
Wanda's eyes flashed with a hint of frustration “You’re always so stubborn”
The room crackled with tension as the truth hung in the air. Both of you were harboring secrets, aware of each other's desires and motives
You stepped closer to her your fingers twisting in the air to hold the restraint “I won't ask again, why are you here.”
“I needed to see you” she confessed, her voice husky, her gaze never wavering from yours.
You broke out into a sarcastic smile, your tongue pressing against the inside of your cheek as you shook your head in disbelief. The madness that swirled between you and Wanda had reached a fever pitch, and it was clear that this reunion would only further entangle you both in the web of chaos that defined your complex relationship.
“You didn't seem so eager to see me when you left me in Westview” Your voice came out sharper then you intended. obviously still hurt from her actions. The way she had left you was awful. Alone, surrounded by ring of flashing red and blue lights that demanded answers to questions you couldnt even comprehend
Wanda let out an exasperated sigh a sense of guilt building up inside her “I had no other choice y/n. Strange was after me and You would have never gone with me”
The soft flicker of candlelight casted an eerie, shadow on Wanda's face, accentuating the mysterious allure that always seemed to surround her. Her eyes, partially obscured by the dim light, bore into you with a mix of longing and lust. You couldn't help but notice how her figure looked in the low light – the subtle rise and fall of her chest, the seductive curve of her lips as they formed that infuriating smirk. The undeniable attraction that pulsed between you two was like a magnetic force, drawing you together. It was a desire that both thrilled and repulsed you.
“Because you trapped me, you stole my life!” you echoed with a sardonic laugh, your voice tinged with a hint of hysteria. the memories of your past experiences with Wanda had driven you into a state of rage and paranoia, endless days and night spent waiting for her return
“It was the only way to protect you,” she argued back, her conviction unwavering, convinced that she had done what was necessary to shield you from the dangers of the outside world.
Your eye twitched with rage as you denied her allegations vehemently. "You're delusional Wanda, You just wanted to control me.”
Her head dropped to the floor, and her shoulders shook as she let out a menacing chuckle. When her eyes returned to you, they were three times darker, and the room itself seemed to respond to her shifting presence as if the shadows deepened around her
"When will you understand," she whispered, her voice now dripping with an eerie, otherworldly resonance that sent shivers down your spine. It was as if she had tapped into something primal and ancient, a power beyond comprehension.
"I would kill for you, Y/n," her words took on an ominous weight, the air growing heavy with her declaration. "I would rip myself to pieces if it meant keeping you safe," she continued, her breathing growing heavier, each word laced with an intensity that seemed to vibrate through the very walls of the room
Her grin widened, taking on an unsettling edge as if she could see right through you, right into the depths of your soul. The intensity of her gaze was suffocating, and it terrified you to your core.
"And you fucking love that," she hissed, her eyes glinting with a manic fervor that sent a shiver down your spine. “It excites you.”
"Shut up!" You couldn't contain your frustration any longer. With a surge of power, a flash of brilliant blue lit up the room as the magical restraints around Wanda tightened. She gritted her teeth, and a prominent vein bulged on her neck, her struggle against the sudden and intense pressure evident in her clenched jaw and furrowed brow.
"Well, someone has certainly been doing their homework," a deranged expression of pain and excitement glowed on her face. "I wasn't sure how far along you had gotten in the Darkhold, but my god..."
"Oh, for the love of God," you muttered through clenched teeth, your jaw tightening in frustration. as you struggled to maintain your composure in the face of her unsettling revelations. "What kind of deluded fantasies have you come up with now?"
The room seemed to hum with tension, The past and the present collided, and the lines between reality and the pull of the Darkhold blurred your thoughts into a red haze.
"I can feel it. The darkness you've been studying. It's consuming you, just like it did me." The switch in her tone made your blood run cold. Her eyes locked onto yours, searching for a reaction "I've been watching you, Y/n."
For months, Wanda had been studying you, watching you from the shadows, watching your obsession grow with every passing day. She had guided you, manipulated events, all with the intent of drawing you into the same darkness that had overtaken her. But she had to be patient, allowing you to come to it on your own, letting the seductive pull of corruption work its magic until you were entangled in its irresistible web.
“You weren't supposed to read the darkhold, you were only supposed to watch over it” Her voice dripped with a sultry and unhinged desire as she taunted you. “You’re no better than me.”
The consuming darkness of the situation weighed heavily on your shoulders, as you recalled the ghastly events of the past few months. At first, you only started studying the Darkhold for research purposes, perhaps trying to understand Wanda, to fathom why she did the things she did. And yet, in the depths of your mind, the Darkhold's whispers grew louder, its promises of untold power and the allure of the forbidden knowledge beginning to take hold. The more you studied it, the more it consumed your thoughts, leaving you with an insatiable hunger for its secrets.
While you were lost in the sea of memories, a beam of red magic shot past the corner of your eye, and before you knew it, you were sent tumbling back to your feet.
You stumbled backward, Adrenaline beginning to course through your veins. Wanda advanced on you with an unsettling mixture of hunger and madness. She threw her head back, and a loud cackle echoed in the room. "Isn't it exhilarating! The power, the temptation. It's irresistible!"
As Wanda closed in on you, you couldn't deny the odd thrill that surged through you. Her presence was overwhelming and a part of you couldn't help but be endlessley drawn to her.
“You're sick.” you spat out, backing away until your back hit your desk. “You’re fucking sick!”
“Sick with love,” she returned with a hint of seductive playfulness
You turned away from her, your hands anchored to the edge of your desk, your shoulders rising to your ears as you tried to fathom how you ended up here, in this twisted dance with the woman who was once the center of your world. The woman who you spent months missing, nights filled with aching longing and days spent wondering where she was, if she was dead or alive.
“Dont you remember our life together” Her tone was soft and convincing “How nice it was”
She came up behind you, her arms wrapping around you, and she smiled when she didn't feel you push them away.
Painful flashes of your memories in Westview flooded into your mind. You remembered your two boys, whom you were equally bonded to. You remembered the endless movie nights and family dinners, waking up and falling asleep next to Wanda every day had become a feeling you grew accustomed to. Those memories were a bittersweet reminder of the life you had shared before everything went awry, and they added to the torment of your current situation.
You remembered how safe and loved you had felt. But it wasn't real. None of it was real. You had told yourself that countless times—nights when everything was too quiet, and the familiar suffocating feeling of loneliness threatened to consume you. You ached to be back in Westview, with your family. But most of all, you yearned to be with Wanda. the memories of what you had shared weighed heavily on your heart.
“I know who you are Y/N,” You could feel her breath against your neck as her hands rubbed mindless patterns down your stomach. “I know what you crave”
A surge of anger suddenly lit up inside you, furious about how she made you feel. Angry that you had spent months alone, going insane with paranoia and the uncertainty of where she was in the world, Angry that she imprisoned you, controlled you, manipulated you. And you liked it. You loved the fire between you, the intense and deranged connection that bound you together. After all of that, she remained the one person who understood you best, the one who endlessly craved and longed for you.
You suddenly spun around and gripped onto the leather edge of her suit dragging her down until her lips roughly met yours.
Wanda's response was immediate, her hunger for you matching your own. Her arms enveloped you, pulling you up until your legs wrapped around her. Her strides were long across the room trying to find the closest surface to hold you up against.
She pressed you against the oak of your bookcase, and you let out a whimper against her lips when you felt the painful bite of your spell book spines digging into your back.
Wanda took attention to this and used her magic to smoothly fuse through the bookcase and into the privacy of your bedroom. Her determination to be with you becoming increasingly evident. She tossed you onto the bed and crawled over you, reconnecting your lips into a searing kiss.
Her tongue wrestled with yours untill you were moaning into each other's mouths. With one hand holding herself up the other slid up and down your thigh, Warm and possessive. With an expert touch, Her lips moved down to your neck, where she immediately began nipping at that spot she knew you loved so much.
Your breaths were starting to become uneven and you through an arm over her neck, Wanting to be closer to her. You felt Wanda smile into your skin, reveling in your neediness
She conjured away the rest of your clothes, leaving you fully exposed infront of her longing gaze. Your body shivered when the textured leather of Wandas suit rubbed up against you, sending a jolt of electricity through you.
Lowering herself down, she pressed her lips to one of your erect nipples, envelopong it in a sensual kiss. Her mouth then tenderly sucked on the sensitive bud while her fingers skillfuklly squeezed and pinched the other. She glanced up at you, her eyes filled with satisfaction as she took in the sight of your blissful expression, eyes squeezed shut and your mouth slightly parted, completely lost in the pleasure she was giving you.
“I want to taste you” she mumbled against your skin, Descending down the mattress, leaving a trail of kisses and bites down your stomach. She kneeled in front of the bed and roughly pulled your legs until they were hanging off.
You could feel her breath on your pussy as she kissed everywhere, purposefully missing the one place you needed it the most.
She gently slide a finger into your hole and let out a low groan when she felt your wet walls immediately suck her in further.
“Still so responsive... you really are mine, aren’t you baby?” she mumbled in between kisses to your thighs, when you didn't respond she nipped at your skin.
“I will never be yours again” your breathed out, your chest rising and falling with every breath you took in
Something twisted inside Wanda at your words and a dark expression overcame her features as her grip on your thighs involuntarily tightened.
“Well see how you feel after this, pretty girl”
The pet's name is spat out like a curse. But you don't miss the way her tongue rolls over the words like she meant it. Like she actually thinks you are pretty. And so, despite the situation your cheeks burn red, and your heart hammers in your chest.
You didn’t get a chance to respond before you felt her roughly slide two fingers into your dripping hole, immediately curling and hitting your sweet spot. A satisfied grin formed on Wanda's face as she watched your head fall back in pleasure.
Unable to wait any longer She dropped her head and replaced her fingers with her tongue, moaning at the taste of you. You glanced down and felt your pussy clench at the erotic sight of Wanda stuffed between your legs.
She opened her mouth wide and immersed her tongue as deep as it could go. Swirling and twisting in all the right places. It had been so long, Too long since she had gotten to taste her girl, the urgency and desperation became evident when she started lapping at you like a ravenous creature.
A sharp hiss escaped your lips as the metal points of her crown pressed into the tender flesh of your thighs. You instinctively squirmed and writhed in an attempt to escape the painful sensation
She only tightened her hold on your thighs keeping them secured to her shoulders “Stay still," she commanded, her voice dripping with desire. "I'm not done yet.”
Your response was reduced to a mere whimper as an overwhelming sensation engulfed you. All of your nerves felt like they were on fire. You couldn't even form a coherent sentence. It all felt too good.
You felt your orgasm build embarrassingly fast, the tight coil in your stomach winding even tighter. It had been an eternity since someone had touched you this expertly—no one living up to the lofty standards Wanda had set.
Her tongue dipped into you and then dragged along your slit until it reached your clit, where she relentlessley started sucking on the hardened bud. Your moans echoed throughout the room As you began to mindlessly grind up into her mouth.
Every roll of your hips sent the sharp material of the crown deeper into your skin. Your mind began to feel fuzzy as it fell into a haze of overwhelming pleasure. Wanda was drunk off the sight of you right now. Fucked-out and completely at her mercy. Her chin was coated in your slick as she shamelessly devoured you.
Her eyes were glued onto your body, taking in the sight of your head thrown back in pleasure, your limbs squirming under her, watching you struggle to fight of your orgasm only encouraged her to go faster.
She pressed her face further into your core. A crimson streak of blood trickled down your thighs and onto her crown. Mingling with your arousal.
“Cum for me baby,” she commanded with a throaty groan, her fingers digging into your thighs. “show me that you’re mine”
You let out a loud moan and your hands flew to the sides of her head, Tangling into the mess of frayed red hair, Wanda's own moans harmonized with vibrations coursing through you, heightening the intensity of your orgasm.
Your hips slowed their pace as the waves of pleasure subsided, leaving your body pulsating with the aftermath of your climax. Breathing heavily, you propped yourself up on your elbows, your eyes fixated on Wanda who was undeniably captivated by the streams of blood tracing their way down your thigh.
A sinister smirk curved your lips as you taunted “You twisted bitch, you love it when I bleed for you”
Wanda responded with a chilling expression. Without breaking eye contact, She re-wrapped her arm around you. Her fingers possessively digging into your skin. She dragged her tongue over the cut, savoring the metallic taste
Your eyes fluttered shut, The gentle warmth of Wanda's tongue soothed the irritated burn, providing a small measure of comfort. As she rose from between your legs her hand found your throat, gripping it with a firm hold that demanded your attention.
Your eyes reluctantly reopened to meet Wanda's intense gaze. Her lips captured yours in a demanding kiss, and the lingering taste of blood mixed with your arousal coated your taste buds. It was a heady mixture that left you feeling undeniably dirty yet strangely exhilarated.
“You belong to me,” she whispered against your lips, her hand still wrapped around your throat. “You are mine to touch, to pleasure, to mark. Don't you ever forget that.”
You smiled and bit your lip, amused by her sudden possessiveness. Using her magic, she removed the rest of her clothes and waved her hand in front of her hips until a long scarlet dildo attached to a black harness reappeared.
You bit into your lip harder as recognition washed over you. It was your favorite toy, the one that allowed Wanda to intimately feel every inch of your throbbing pussy. You felt yourself clench, Anticipation coursing through your veins.
Still hovering over you, She held the base of the strap and dragged the tip along your slit a low groan emitting from both of your mouths at the contact. You began to grow impatient, arching yourself up as you watched her tease herself.
She finally pushed herself into you, and an unrestrained moan escaped her parted lips as she savored the exquisite sensation of your snug, velvety walls enveloping her. She stilled herself for a moment, allowing you to gradually adjust to the fullness.
“I missed your pussy so much” she groaned out, coming down to press her chest against yours as her hips began to rock into you. The toy curves up and and slides against your insides in the most perfect way, she’s nearly halfway in and you clamp down on her.
“Fuck, you're squeezing me so good.” Wanda leans closer to you, inhaling your scent as one of her hands grips your thigh. She pulls the toy out until just the tip remains inside before roughly snaping her hips forward. You loudly moaned into her ear, digging your nails into her back.
“Harder” you whined, wrapping your legs around her waist and pressing your heels into her back, edging her in deeper. “Please, wanda”
She grinned and started pounding into you harder. Pushing her cock in as deep as it could go. “I knew you were still my slut.”
You could only respond with a breathless call of her name. She further pushes your body into the mattress making you feel even smaller as her strap rams into your pussy. you grip onto her tighter and your moans float all throughout the room, they bounce around the walls and come slamming back into your own ears.
“Yeah, you like being called what you are? Because you're my slut. Mine” Her movements are becoming erratic. The mattress squeaks under you and your headboard slams into the wall with every forceful thrust of her hips. “im never letting you slip away again.”
Your hands claw deep red streaks across her back that move with every flex of her muscles. Her hand grip your ass, grinding you onto her cock as her thrusts begin to lose their rhythem.
She thrusts at an angle that has you seeing white light. Your whole body shook as your orgasm crashed over you. Every nerve was sent into overdrive, no feeling could ever compare to this. Being under Wanda, your limbs tightly bound to her as you fell apart on her cock. It all felt so right
“Fuck, oh fuck, You're gonna make me cum” she grunted, shoving her face into your neck. As she chased her high, tortured with the need to release into your wet heat “Gonna fill this pussy up so good-Fuck!”
Her hips roll into you until she is fully submerged in your pussy. Loud moans and whines fill your ears as you feel thick ropes of her cum paint your insides, filling you to the brim until it splatters on the insides of your thighs. Her hips are still fucking into you and your cunt wraps around her cock pulling her in further.
After she rides out the last bits of her high, her body collapses onto you, pressing you into the mattress. You feel her shaky sighs against your neck, and her body slowly relaxes as you soothingly run your hands through her hair. Just when you think she might have fallen asleep, she abruptly leans up to look down at you.
“You're a fucking nightmare.” you breathlessly whisper
She responds by kissing your lips, her love and obsession intermingling in that stolen moment. You can't help but return the kiss with the same feverish fervor, wrapping your arms around her neck and arching into her.
This new side of you excited wanda to exhilarating heights. Even in the early stages of your relationship, you had always embraced your darker nature, and it was one of the things that had initially drawn her to you, but this newfound level of intensity made her pulse with excitement about your future together, the things you'd do together, the things you'd learn, all the things she would teach you.
You were just so perfect for her, you had always been, and In your bones, you knew you could never be without wanda, it was as if the two of you were eternally connected at your very core.
A smile stretched across your face as she gazed into your eyes. It was clear that your journey into the depths of darkness was far from over.

Darkness between the stars
Tumblr media
Darth!Steve Rogers x female reader
Author's Note: On my recent wave of feels after Anakin's cameo in Ahsoka, I couldn't stop thinking about powerful Jedi Steve Rogers, who was once galaxy's hope, turning dark. This is very loosely inspired by Anakin's storyline, without going full on Vader-look (because Steve's face is too pretty to cover it with that ugly helmet; sorry, I make the rules here).
summary: You followed your Master when he gave in to the dark side, not believing the twisted values the Emperor spew, but because you couldn't imagine being anywhere other than by Steve's side. Even if you accepted the fact Steve's heart may forever belong to the woman he once loved.
warnings: angst; hurt/comfort; soft dark!Steve Rogers; some power imbalance; choking kink; implied age gap (since Steve was the Reader's Master), but Reader is of age
Tumblr media
The threat of thudding footsteps caused a spike of fear among the Imperial officers passing in the corridor outside - you sensed the stench of it. You could easily imagine them scattering away as quickly as possible, or trying to blend with the walls.
As cowardly as it was, it was also wise. Finding yourself in the path of an angry Sith Lord would end badly.
Thankfully, the medical droid stitching up your leg had no real human feelings, so it continued its work without a hitch even as the seal to the med bay opened and Steve stormed in.
All in his towering, dark glory.
Black robe swiping the floor, deadly lightsaber strapped to the utility belt, shiny buckles on the reinforced leather gloves on his hands.
Darth Nomad. Sith Lord.
Once upon a time a great, idealistic Jedi Master, Steve Rogers.
Though the Jedi Order no longer existed and his path had turned dark and bloody, he still remained Steve to you.
Only in privacy. Always in your heart, even as you addressed him as Master or Nomad when other's ears and eyes were on you. He owned you; his claws ran far deeper and clutched stronger than Palpatine’s influence on him.
You harbored a crush on your Master for years, hiding your thoughts and longing every day. As well every night, when you rested in your chamber at the Jedi temple and he returned into the arms of his beloved wife in her lush suite.
When you followed Steve to kneel at the Emperor's feet and pledge loyalty to the dark side, you perfectly sold the lie of the ambitious, proud apprentice who was bitter the Jedi were too weak. You claimed to want to continue your training and be on the winning side, the side of true power.
What you truly wanted was to be with Steve, even if it was only to suffer unrequited love as you helped him drown the world in blood.
The Emperor somehow bought it, or maybe simply thought it useful to have you serve the Empire, no matter your actual motivation.
However, Steve saw right through you.
He didn't confront you right away. Not for months. Until the two of you were on a solo quest, treading through the lush flora of an outer-rim planet, searching for an ancient artifact - much like you used to do as Jedi.
Did he catch you looking at his profile too long? Did he sense the change in your heartbeat whenever he was close? Was your Force bond so strong that he glimpsed into your desperate dreams?
Or maybe Steve simply knew you so well, after all the years.
When he reached for you, when he touched you, you knew it could deepen your later suffering. But you still gave in, if only for one night. If only you could taste him and fall apart under his command this one time.
But it wasn’t just one night. Nor a few chance encounters over the years.
Whatever it was between the two of you, has become a regularity. A wicked norm that sated, as well enhanced the craving that’s been burning inside of you. It seemed there was never enough; the desire for him simmered beneath your skin every day and your desperate love pushed you further into howling darkness.
Eerie, that love was what pushed Steve to the dark side as well.
There were other factors, layers upon layers, but it was the heart that sealed the deal. For the both of you.
Your tragedy was that Steve’s heart would never be yours.
So you fed off on everything else you were given - Steve’s attention, his lust, his protectiveness.
Which was why he stomped through the Executor like a deadly storm cloud - in his case, literally deadly - led by rage.
You knew it was mostly directed at the scum who dared to wound you, but some of it was also at you. For being careless in your small mission, which you attempted to keep secret from him.
His black cloak floated ominously around Steve as he stepped inside; his fingers clenched into fists, stretching the leather of his gloves.
“How serious is the injury?” Even in anger, Steve’s voice remained calm.
You opened your mouth to say it’s not that bad, but he gave you a pointed look that meant he wasn’t talking to you and that you were in serious trouble. The kind that may end with your ass bruised.
“A level two blaster wound to the thigh,” the medical droid reported. “It missed the artery and the muscle will rebuild with the protein enhancer we’ve injected. Patient’s skin has been sutured.”
Steve’s gaze flicked to your bare leg, eyes narrowing as he assessed the dressing over your wound. The droid wasn’t bothered by it, but if a living person was here instead, they’d sweat in fear of his disapproval.
“The patient may experience impaired mobility for the next day. No other complications are expected.”
Steve nodded, his eyes still on your leg. Though his trimmed beard gentled the sharp line of his jaw, you still saw the nervous tick of muscle. Then his gaze shifted along your half-dressed body and settled on your face.
He stepped closer to the bed and cupped your chin. Scent of familiar leather pleasantly dispersed the annoying smell of medical antiseptics.
“I’m gone for two days and you get yourself in trouble, Stardust.” Steve squeezed your chin a tad harder. “Should I keep you at my side at all times, like an irresponsible apprentice freshly in training?”
“Or-” he leaned in; the blue of his eyes searing like his old lightsaber- “maybe I’ll confiscate your weapon and keep you as a bedwarmer only?”
Before you managed to utter I’m sorry for failing, Master, Steve was lifting you in his arms. Stealing your breath with the gesture.
One arm beneath your knees, the other under your back. Your heart stopped for a moment, then rushed in a rapid pattern as he carried you out of the med bay.
It had to be a bizarre sight - the Dark Lord of the Sith, most feared in the whole galaxy Darth Nomad, who snapped necks with a flick of a wrist; was carrying a woman through the Star Dreadnought.
However, no one dared to stare, or even flick a curious glance your way.
Steve showed softness when you both laid spent after fucking, or simply wrapping an arm around your middle when you were sleeping, but he never carried you like that.
Even when he wanted you in a certain position when he fucked you, he either told you to do it the right way, or used the Force to bend your body how he wished.
Being cradled in his arms, out in the open, soothed that deep longing for true care on his part. Taunted you with deep feeling that you knew would never be real.
“Something’s troubling you.” Steve stated when the double-sealed entrance to his (and yours) chambers closed behind you. “And it’s not your injury, I sense.”
He crossed the space to the bedroom, where cold blue light changed into unsettling red that you learned to associate with safety. Black and red used to mean the enemy, the danger, even death, but Steve made you love it. Conditioned you to see it as the setting you belonged in.
“Well, my failure in successfully finishing my deal on Serenno,” you shrugged, but instantly cringed as you felt that lie failed miserably.
You weren’t a bad liar. When it came to Steve, however, it was as if the ability was malfunctioning.
At least ever since he slipped his gloved finger between your lips for the first time and softly commanded you to admit how much you craved him.
You yelped as Steve suddenly dropped you onto the bed. The muscle in your thigh spasmed, sending a painful jolt. Fingers gripping the dark sheets, you breathed through the wave of ache as you lifted your gaze to look at Steve.
His black robe dropped to the floor. He set his lightsaber down on the black, lacquered table, then unbuckled his utility belt. It fell to the floor with a dull thud.
“You do not lie to me, Stardust,” Steve’s glare was a warning as he braced his hands on his hips and waited for your honesty.
The reason hidden deep in your heart could bring you more trouble than withholding the truth from Steve. You feared speaking it aloud may cut you out of Steve’s life completely, if he learned that you were desperate for so much more than his cock.
But there was no way of hiding it from him for long. Not when he was on a hunt to rip that truth out of you.
Steve would get to it one way, or another. One could perhaps be a sexually torturous way, but there was also a chance of him reaping it from your mind with the Force.
You took a deep breath, forcing a cold sheet to form around your fluttering heart and make you seem indifferent to your own emotions, like you did at the beginning of your life on the dark side. Your fingers tightened their grip on the smooth, dark sheets.
“Your gesture startled me,” you admitted. “I know I’m of certain value to you, as a lover and as a former Padawan. Being carried like that, like you cared, incited foolish thoughts in my head.”
Steve’s eyes narrowed as a frown marred his forehead. His head tilted slightly to the side, his gaze never allowing yours to drop.
“Elaborate,” he requested, but you knew that despite the calm tone it was a command.
“It almost ignited a stupid hope to have your heart,” you spat out bitterly, “which would never happen, I’m aware, Master. I know there was only one woman who had your heart and it lies buried with your wife.”
With the woman who wasn’t strong enough to pull him off that edge of destruction, nor had the guts to fall with him and rule by his side.
Steve’s hand shot forward, fingers curled in an open grip. The yank of incredibly powerful Force pulled your body upwards, as if you were a featherlight ragdoll. He made your body flow in the air, inches above the floor.
The pressure around your neck cinched. He wasn’t touching you, yet it felt as if Steve’s gloved fingers were wrapped around the front of your neck, squeezing your throat.
It spiked fear and adrenaline, but also roused your body in ways no other lover ever could.
Your body froze in place right in front of Steve, the Force still keeping you hanging in the air.
“You are right to say my heart was buried with my wife.” Steve growled through clenched teeth. “It’s left in the past that we burned to the ground.”
A gasp escaped your lips as Steve’s hand firmly wrapped around your neck. Though he still used the Force to move your body, it was also his sheer strength behind his movement as he walked you backwards until your back met the wall.
“You’re not in my heart, Stardust, because I no longer have one,” his hot breath tickled your cheek as Steve’s face inched even closer.
“You’re not my love. You’re more. You’re  m i n e.”
What filled your heart felt similar to the overwhelming lightness you used to be connected with, once upon a time.
The Force eased back and your body sagged, but Steve’s hand was still firm on your throat. Holding you up as your toes tried to reach the floor and give you some support.
No, he wouldn’t let you down easily. He would drive in the point that he was your support. He was your sustenance. He would hold you up, as well destroy you.
“You’re my fucking everything!”
Steve bit your bottom lip, making you cry out at the sudden sting. Then the flick of his tongue soothed it before he swiped between your parted lips. The way Steve kissed you was more consuming than the darkness you dwelled in; more burning than the lightsaber’s blade.
When he pulled away, your lips were swollen and tingling, and your cunt was pulsing with need.
“You’ll repent for endangering what’s mine-” Steve’s chuckle was a brush of tempting darkness as his free hand slid up your wounded thigh- “tomorrow, when it’s fully healed.”
“Yes, Master,” you moaned as his fingers changed their course and teased your folds beneath the short, medical robe.

Is there any cultural significance or reasoning for Xiao Xingchen giving both his eyes to Song Lan, instead of just one?
I can certainly see there being plot and/or thematic reasons for it (like it makes a better parallel with Wei Wuxian who couldn’t give just half his golden core; it’s necessary for Xiao Xingchen to be completely blind for the Yi city tragedy to play out as it did; etc.) but I’m wondering if there is more to it then that.
Your insights on other bits of MDZS lore have been really interesting!
That’s a tough question. The short answer is: yes. It’s a cultural thing.
The longer answer is that I’m not sure I can adequately answer your question... because I feel that I'm not qualified. It goes deep. This is reaching the DNA of Chinese culture and the value system itself. I would say it’s probably better if you read more Chinese classics or immerse yourself in the culture. This is one of those things that are immensely difficult to put into words. The best way is to experience it.
But since you asked me, I’m going to at least give it a try.
The reason that Xiao Xingchen gave both eyes to Song Lan and the true root of the Yi City tragedy includes three different cultural concepts: Jishi 济世 (the Chinese ideal of saving the world), Enyuan Yinguo 恩怨因果 (Karma and Karmic Debts), and the quest to find Dao 道 (truth).
1/ Jishi 济世
济世 Jishi is a Chinese term denoting a philosophical ideal pursued by certain classes or castes of people since ancient times in China. It means to sacrifice and save the world. It’s self-sacrificial heroism in the most ideal and purest sense of the concept, similar to our modern-day Doctors without Borders.
This is Xiao Xingchen’s higher calling, his chosen purpose. Xiao Xingchen came down from Baoshan Sanren’s mountain at 17 years old with one purpose: to make the world a better place. He rejected no one who needed his help. He went out of his way to reject the invitations from the cultivator Houses to join their ranks and enjoy the wealth and privilege it might bring because he didn’t want to be distracted from a higher calling.
Using modern Western vernacular, Xiao Xingchen is a hero. That’s his religion and identity. That’s on top of a personality that already holds high self-responsibility. So is there any wonder he feels he’s responsible for Song Lan’s loss and must give Song Lan both eyes?
2/ Enyuan Yinguo 恩怨因果
恩怨 En Yuan. Yuan is resentment, spite, hatred, grudge. But En is a lot harder to nail down in English. It’s commonly translated as favor, but ‘favor’ has none of the cultural weight and encoded social obligation of En. The pure meaning of En is ‘a good deed done from the heart.’ A kindness. A mercy. A gift.
For example, Jiang Fengmian taking Wei Ying into Jiangshi is En. Wen Ning saving Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying is En. Wen Ning reclaiming Jiang Fengmian and Yu Furen’s corpses and artifacts is En. Big En, comparable rebirthing an entire household. Wen Ruohan teaching Zhao Zhuli (later on known as Wen Zhuliu) and granting him a chance to prove himself is also En. Nie Mingjue doing the same to Jin Guangyao is the same level of En (granting critical knowledge and opportunity to completely change one’s life). Jin Guangyao taking in Lan Xichen and hiding him from Wen pursuers before the Sunshot campaign is En.
因果 Yinquo = Karmic Bonds, the fruits that bloom from the seeds one sow. It’s also understood as a link between people’s life. Our lives collide, intertwine, and diverge like threads on a tapestry. We are each bound to each other by the threads of Karma and our debt to each other. This is yinguo.
There is a deep-seated belief in China that a person’s life is a ledger. To live is to constantly add to and take away from the ledger. When other people perform En for you, that means you take from their ledger and add to yours. When someone takes from your ledger, a yuan/grudge is born. From the moment you were born, you were granted the greatest of En, the gift of life from your parents.
In Chinese culture, it’s believed that one must try one’s best to square the ledger. One must repay En and reclaim Yuan. Entangled Enyuan eventually leads to tangled Yinguo, and that’s just a big headache nobody wants because it directly impacts your afterlife, your next life, your descendants, and sometimes even your ancestors that are already dead.
To strive your best to repay En is seen as a virtue. Of course, not everyone is capable or even wants to reach this ideal. Like when we say it’s good to be honest, but being truly and completely honest in daily life is… a task, shall we say. Sometimes, it’s very hard to truly repay what you owe. And sometimes, your Enyuan with a person or with a House is so entangled that it’s either hard to really say who owes who, or hard to admit to the fact that you are the one in the reds.
You are seeing parallels between Xiao Xingchen and Wei Wuxian because they both embody this ideal to the extreme. Both would take it upon themselves to repay. Xiao Xingchen paid with his eyes. Wei Wuxian repaid Jiang Fengmian’s En by giving Jiang Cheng his jindan, helped Jiang Cheng rebuild Jiang Shi using Guidao (Path of the Dead), gave up all his war achievements for the rebuilding of Jiangshi and left Jiangshi without a penny to his name despite being a major contributor to victory, and then… repaid Wen Ning, Wen Qing’s En to Jiang Cheng and Jiangshi in Jiang Cheng’s place when the other didn’t.
In some ways, you can say that both Xiao Xingchen and Wei Wuxian are flawed in that they underestimate their own value and well-being and overestimate what other people do for them. You can even say that they are foolish because they pay for En that isn’t theirs to pay, and that eventually leads to their suffering and death. But this is just the kind of people they are. They are true idealists who genuinely believe in a Truth greater than mortal squabbles. They are pure, uncorrupted Daoists, the kind that holds the founding precepts of Daoism in their heart.
In the novel, there are many examples of different people and how they see Enyuan Yinguo and how much value they put in them.
We have Su Se, who was saved by Wei Wuxian twice but didn’t even acknowledge it. Instead, he saw that as a Yuan because he probably hated the fact that it showed how weak and insignificant he was. Yet Jin Guangyao merely remembered his name and gave him some support to create his House, and he was willing to be Jin Guangyao’s attack dog, going so far as to abandon his own House members in Fuma Cave when Jin Guangyao’s plan failed and using his life to buy time for Jin Guangyao in Guanyin temple.
We also have Jiang Cheng, who was well aware that he owed Wen Ning and Wen Qing, but didn’t want to acknowledge it because he was poisoned with trauma and hatred at the hands of Wen Chao and felt that because of his relationship with Wei Ying, he was entitled to Wen Ning’s En. And yet he is rational enough to understand that admitting to owing this ginormous En and not repaying it is a huge stigma on House Jiang, and so even when he answered Nie Mingjue, confirming that the Wen remnants did have En with him, he answered in such a way that downplayed the enormity of En. Answering truthfully would have exonerated Wei Wuxian and the Wen remnants because the laws regarding Enyuan are so foundational that no one could have blamed the Jiang for saving the Wen remnants. But answering truthfully would have been admitting to his owing the Wen, setting House Jiang against House Jin, and turning House Jiang into a target of ridicule for other Houses because such an En should have been paid long before Wei Wuxian had to take drastic measures and jailbroke the Wen remnants from Quiongqi Path.
We also have Lan Xichen, who effectively compromised his entire House and compromised his own judgment because he saw Jin Guangyao as having granted him a huge En (which is not wrong, per se).
And then we have Jin Guanyao, who killed both people who bestowed En on him (Wen Ruohan and Nie Mingjue both gave Jin Guangyao critical knowledge, opportunities, and elevated him above his station. And yet when it came to Lan Xichen, despite his effectively pushing the Lan to death in the second Burial Mound Siege, Jin Guangyao still acted like Lan Xichen was in the wrong for not paying Jin Guangyao’s En even more than he already had.
Then finally, look at these Enyuan and consider the way it binds the various characters in both good and bad ways.
So it’s a deeply embedded and very nuanced concept that manifests differently in different characters.
3/ The Quest for Truth 道 Dao:
Dao/Tao 道: the truth, the path, the knowledge, the faith, the ideal, the natural order of the universe, that from which everything comes and that from which everything returns.
What does Dao have to do with Xiao Xingchen?
Well, because Xiao Xingchen is a Daoist. Remember when he reminded A-Quing to address him as Daozhang? That.
He’s not the only Daoist in MDZS, either. The man who created Dao as a philosophy and spirituality, Laozi, is also the man who created the concept of cultivation in the first place. So every single cultivator in MDZS, indeed every single cultivator in xianxia genre, treads in Laozi’s footsteps, takes from his wisdom, and stands on his shoulders in their quest for heavens.
The first sentence in Laozi’s definitive work on Dao, the Tao Te Ching, says:
‘Dao that can be told is not Dao. Truth that can be named is not truth. Path that can be walked is not the right Path.’
The Tao Te Ching is a foundational Chinese Classic. It is the shortest but also the most complex and hard to understand.
This first verse of the Tao Te Ching means: truth is not something that is fixed. Truth is nuanced. Knowledge is not something that can be given to you by words only. You must find this knowledge by yourself. Path is not something that anyone else can tell you. Your path must be walked by your own feet. Faith is not something that can given to you by someone else. You must find faith in yourself.
So then, apply this sentence to Xiao Xingchen’s journey. Do you see it? Xiao Xingchen choosing Jishi is his journey to find and prove his Dao. Jishi is Xiao Xingchen’s Dao.
Yi City is not a tragedy. Yi City is Xiao Xingchen’s tribulation and the unavoidable consequences of choosing to remain pure to the founding precepts of Dao while the rest of the cultivator Houses, including Nie and Lan, have long betrayed their origin.
Even if, by some miracle, Xue Yang and Xiao Xingchen never entangled with each other, there will always be a Xi City or a Zi City for Xiao Xingchen. Because it is a consequence and a price to pay to find the truth that he desires. And he did find that truth. Song Lan, who he had left in a decisive gesture of severing their Karmic Bond, returned and would likely spend decades if not centuries walking Xiao Xingchen’s path, waiting for the day Xiao Xingchen awoke. And A-Qing never left Xiao Xingchen, never gave up on him either.

Ugghh, such a heavy topic. I usually don't like to write too much on such topics because... it's hard to write and it's hard to read, and most people don't really have the patience to read. But it is a question. So I tried. In any case, have this fanart I commissioned from Nguyen Linh.

Rebels crack AU where Ezra and Kanan keep dragging the Ghost Crew on field trips to do mythical Force Stuff TM and on almost every one of these field trips Sabine stumbles over an ancient Mandalorian artifact or completes some rite of passage.
Like, they go to some random moon to commune with an ancient Force deity, and Sabine trips over what at first glance appears to be a rock, but upon further inspection, it turns out to be the kriffing Mask of The Mandalore. Just lying there. In the dirt. The original symbol of Mandalorian Rulership is half buried by sand on some nowhere rock.
Hera decides to go to the local markets on some Outer Rim planet while Kanan and Ezra do some Force nonsense in an abandoned temple and drags Sabine with her. In this run-down antique shop Sabine sees the most famous tapestry of Mandalore the Binder’s life story, one woven by Mandalore the Binder himself.
They go to Jedha to complete a trial for the Guardians of the Whills and because these things seem to take forever, Sabine goes to a restaurant to get lunch. She trips over an old man on her way back to her table with her food, and before she can finish apologizing he just smiles at her and tells her it's alright before walking away. Later, once they are all back on the ship Sabine opens her bag only to realize there's a holocron in it. She gets Ezra to open it and it's Tarre Vizsla's holocron.
They go to Tatooine to fight a Darkside ghost and Sabine gets poisoned by Tuskens. She manages to fight her way into their camp and get the antidote, with minimal help because the only crew member left outside the ancient Darkside vault beside her was Chopper. Later on Sabine talks to her parents about how weird of a day it's been and Ursa's so proud she went through that ancient trial, her many times great-grandmother would be so pleased. (This was my least favorite Tatooine quest in SWTOR).

Things To Consider When Writing With Mythologies
Tumblr media
Mythologies, often ancient narratives passed down through generations, hold profound cultural significance. They are not just tales of gods and heroes but windows into the beliefs, values, and fears of societies long gone. This is why it’s important to ensure you are culturally accurate and don’t accidentally offend members of the communities you are writing about.
I personally am writing a WIP based around Japanese mythology, so here are some things I think you should consider when writing with mythologies.
Using Myths to Drive Plot and Character Development
Myths can serve as the very essence of your story's conflicts and themes. Imagine a tale where a young protagonist discovers they are the reincarnation of an ancient hero, destined to fulfill an ancient prophecy. The hero's journey in such a narrative would be profoundly tied to the mythological elements, guiding their growth and purpose.
Characters, too, can be shaped by the myths of their world. For instance, in Rick Riordan's "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series, the characters are demigods, offspring of gods and mortals, and their quests are directly connected to the Greek mythos, intertwining their destinies with the larger tapestry of ancient legends.
Understanding Mythologies and Their Significance
Mythologies have been an integral part of human storytelling since time immemorial. They are not mere tales of gods and heroes but serve as essential cultural artifacts that mirror the beliefs, fears, and aspirations of ancient civilizations. Understanding the significance of mythologies can help us appreciate their profound impact on both the past and present, enriching our fantasy writing with layers of depth and meaning.
Mirrors of Cultural Beliefs
Mythologies offer a glimpse into the foundational beliefs and values of various cultures. These stories often revolve around the origins of the world, the creation of humanity, and the forces that govern existence. For instance, Greek mythology's creation story of Chaos giving rise to Gaia (Earth), Tartarus (Underworld), and Eros (Love) reflects the Greeks' attempt to explain the beginning of all things.
Archetypes and Universality
Myths are replete with archetypal characters and motifs that resonate with the human psyche. The hero's journey, the wise mentor, the epic battle between good and evil—these recurring themes transcend time and culture, connecting us to our shared human experience. As writers, tapping into these archetypes can make our characters and narratives more relatable and emotionally compelling.
Incorporating the essence of mythologies into our fantasy narratives allows us to harness the timeless power of these ancient tales. By honoring the significance of myths, we can create stories that resonate with readers on a profound and universal level.
Using Myths to Drive Plot and Character Development
Myths serve as powerful catalysts for driving the plot and shaping the characters in your fantasy world. By integrating mythological elements into your narrative, you infuse your story with a sense of wonder and connect your characters to something greater than themselves. Let's explore how myths can be harnessed to propel both plot and character development in your fantasy writing.
Mythological Themes as Central Conflicts
Incorporate mythological themes as the central conflicts driving your plot. Whether it's an ancient prophecy, a long-forgotten curse, or a divine mandate, mythological elements can set the stage for epic quests and high-stakes adventures. For example, in J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, the prophecies surrounding the Boy Who Lived and the rise of Voldemort become pivotal drivers of the plot.
Character Identity and Mythical Lineage
Give your characters a connection to the myths of your world. A character could be the descendant of a heroic figure from ancient times, bearing the weight of fulfilling an age-old prophecy. This connection to the past can shape their identity, motivations, and personal journeys.
Quests Rooted in Mythology
Craft quests and challenges that are steeped in mythological lore. By sending your characters on quests to recover sacred artifacts, defeat mythical beasts, or seek guidance from divine beings, you not only enrich your plot but also create opportunities for character growth and self-discovery.
The Mythic Impact on World Events
Consider how mythological elements influence the world events in your fantasy setting. Wars, political intrigue, and cultural practices may be shaped by the belief in ancient prophecies or the legacy of mythical beings.
Character Arcs Entwined with Myths
Let your characters' arcs intertwine with the myths of your world. As they confront their fears, overcome challenges, and evolve, they may embody the archetypal hero's transformation—rising to greatness or succumbing to tragic flaws.
Symbolism and Allegory in Mythological Writing
Incorporating symbolism and allegory into your mythological writing adds a layer of depth and complexity to your storytelling. These literary techniques allow you to explore profound themes and hidden meanings, making your fantasy narrative more thought-provoking and resonant with readers. Let's delve into how to effectively use symbolism and allegory in the context of myths.
The Power of Symbolism
Symbols are objects, characters, or events that carry deeper meanings beyond their literal interpretation. In mythological writing, symbols can represent abstract concepts, emotions, or significant aspects of the human condition. For instance, a mythical sword might symbolize justice and valor, while a sacred tree could represent the interconnectedness of life.
Allegorical Tales
Allegories are narratives that use symbolic characters and events to convey moral, philosophical, or political messages. Consider crafting allegorical myths to explore real-world issues in a fantastical context. For example, George Orwell's "Animal Farm" uses allegory to critique political systems and human nature.
Symbolism in Creatures and Settings
Leverage mythical creatures and settings as symbolic representations of broader concepts. A mythical dragon guarding a treasure might symbolize the greed that corrupts societies, while a mystical forest could represent the unknown and the call to adventure.
Interpretation and Depth
Allow room for interpretation in your myths. A richly layered narrative invites readers to contemplate various meanings and draw their own conclusions, fostering engagement and making your story more memorable.
Balancing Allegory and Narrative
Remember to strike a balance between allegory and storytelling. While powerful symbolism can add depth, be mindful not to overshadow the narrative's flow and character development.
Through symbolism and allegory, your mythological writing becomes a vessel for exploring timeless truths, moral dilemmas, and the complexities of the human experience. This layer of meaning elevates your storytelling, leaving a lasting impression on readers.
Blending Myths with Worldbuilding
The seamless integration of myths into your worldbuilding can elevate your fantasy realm from a mere backdrop to a living, breathing entity. By infusing every aspect of your world with mythological elements, you create a rich and immersive setting that captivates readers and allows them to fully immerse themselves in the wonder of your creation. Let's explore how to blend myths with worldbuilding to craft a cohesive and enchanting fantasy world.
Mythical Origins and History
Incorporate myths into the history of your world. Legends of ancient gods or legendary heroes can serve as the foundation of your world's creation and early development. These myths not only add depth but also explain the origins of key elements in your world, such as magical artifacts or mystical locations.
Mythical Geography and Landmarks
Infuse your world with mythical geography. Sacred mountains, enchanted forests, and mysterious islands can be inspired by myths or even be the settings of ancient mythological events. The presence of these mythical landmarks makes your world feel magical and mystical.
Divine Architecture and Symbols
Represent the influence of myths on architecture and symbols within your fantasy world. Temples dedicated to mythical deities, sacred runes, or sigils used for protection can add authenticity to your setting, giving readers a sense of a world with deep-rooted beliefs.
Rituals and Traditions
Showcase rituals and traditions that have evolved from ancient myths. Festivals celebrating mythical figures or events can be an essential part of your world's cultural identity. These traditions can create vibrant backdrops for scenes and contribute to the sense of community in your world.
Legendary Artifacts and Items
Integrate legendary artifacts and items from myths into your world. These powerful objects can become central to the plot or wielded by characters of great significance. For example, the Sword of Excalibur from Arthurian legends or Thor's hammer, Mjölnir, from Norse myths are iconic mythical artifacts.
Creatures and Races
Inspire the creation of unique creatures and races based on myths. Drawing from various mythologies, you can invent fantastical beings like phoenixes, centaurs, or sirens. Alternatively, reimagine existing mythical creatures in new and intriguing ways.
Myths and Cultural Diversity
Explore how myths shape the cultural identity of different regions or races in your world. Diverse myths can contribute to varied customs, values, and worldviews. This cultural tapestry enriches your world and provides opportunities for compelling conflicts and interactions between characters.
Avoiding Cultural Appropriation and Stereotypes
As writers, we have the incredible opportunity to draw inspiration from a wide array of cultures and myths to enrich our fantasy worlds. However, with this privilege comes the responsibility to approach the task with cultural sensitivity and respect. Avoiding cultural appropriation and stereotypes is crucial in creating a story that celebrates diversity and promotes understanding. Let's delve into ways to navigate this delicate terrain while crafting a mythologically inspired narrative.
Research Extensively
Thorough research is paramount when incorporating elements from real-world cultures into your writing. Dive deep into the myths, traditions, history, and values of the culture you intend to draw from. Seek out diverse sources and perspectives to gain a comprehensive understanding.
Understand Cultural Context
Cultural context matters. Recognize that myths are deeply rooted in cultural experiences and may carry sacred or sensitive meanings. Ensure that you grasp the nuances and significance of the myths you're using, and handle them with the utmost respect.
Avoid Stereotypes and Exoticization
Steer clear of perpetuating stereotypes or exoticizing cultures. Respectfully depict characters and settings without reducing them to one-dimensional or caricatured portrayals. Create fully fleshed-out characters with their own motivations, strengths, flaws, and complexities.
Collaborate and Seek Feedback
Consider collaborating with sensitivity readers or cultural consultants who are well-versed in the culture you're representing. Their insights can provide invaluable guidance and help you navigate potential pitfalls.

Gothic Adventure: Blackthorn Keep and Beyond
In the dimly lit halls of the ancient castle, a group of intrepid adventurers found themselves at a crossroads. The looming darkness seemed to swallow them whole, and their hearts raced in anticipation of what lay ahead. They had journeyed for weeks through treacherous terrain, only to find themselves face-to-face with an insurmountable obstacle – the castle itself. "I don't know about you lot, but I'm not exactly thrilled to be here," grumbled the grizzled dwarf, Scorlon. "This place gives me the creeps." "We can't turn back now," replied the brave knight, Sir Edric, with a determined glint in his eyes. "We must press on. There's something here that could change the course of our world." As they cautiously stepped through the castle's entrance, they were met with a sight unlike any they had ever seen – a grand hall filled with eerie silence and shadows that seemed to dance upon the walls. The air was thick with tension, as if something sinister lurked just beyond their grasp. "We must be careful," whispered the elven mage, Elara, her voice barely audible. "Whatever awaits us in these halls is far more dangerous than we could ever imagine." Suddenly, the sound of shattering glass echoed through the hall as a mysterious figure appeared before them, a wicked grin stretching across its face. "You've come at last," it hissed. "I've been waiting for intruders such as yourselves to enter my realm." In that moment, the adventurers knew their journey had only just begun. With the castle's mysterious occupant looming over them and countless obstacles still ahead, they were about to face a series of challenges that would test their courage, wit, and determination like never before. In the dimly lit halls of the ancient castle, the adventurers stumbled upon a mysterious room. The air was thick with an eerie atmosphere, as if something was watching them from the shadows. Suddenly, a hushed whisper echoed through the chamber, "Do not venture further." Ignoring the warning, the group pushed on, determined to uncover the castle's secrets. As they delved deeper into the labyrinthine corridors, they encountered a strange creature that seemed both friendly and malevolent. "What are you?" one of the adventurers asked, her voice shaking with fear and curiosity. The creature replied, "I am but a guardian of this place, an echo of what once was. To pass, you must face your deepest fears." With that, it vanished into the darkness, leaving the group to confront their own demons. One by one, they faced their fears and emerged stronger than before. But as they moved through the castle's hidden chambers, they discovered a hidden passage that led them to an unexpected fate: a magical artifact capable of granting one of them a wish. The adventurers argued over who should possess this powerful object, until they realized that together, they could achieve greatness. United by their newfound camaraderie, the group continued their journey, facing more challenges and discoveries with renewed determination. "I'm terrified of spiders," whispered Amelia as she stared into the eyes of an enormous, hairy arachnid. "And I can't stand the thought of drowning," confessed Thomas as he found himself surrounded by a rapidly rising tide. One by one, they faced their fears and emerged stronger than before. At the crossroads, the adventurers entered an ancient castle, their destination looming in the distance. They were met with darkness, the air thick with mystery. Whispers echoed through the corridors, beckoning them forward. As they ventured deeper into the castle, they discovered a hidden passage leading to a grand library, its shelves filled with ancient tomes and scrolls. As the group huddled together in the dimly lit room, a mysterious figure appeared before them. "I am the Librarian of the Forbidden Knowledge," he intoned, his voice sending shivers down their spines. "You have entered this castle for a reason, and within these pages lies the key to your destiny." The adventurers hesitated, but curiosity prevailed. They chose a random tome and began to read. The text spoke of an insurmountable obstacle that could only be overcome with the combined strength of their unique talents. As they turned the page, they noticed an inscription that seemed to glow with magic. It read, "To face this challenge, you must find and assemble three magical artifacts scattered throughout the castle." Filled with determination, the group set off to locate the artifacts, overcoming challenges and meeting strange creatures along the way. In one room, they encountered a dragon guarding a golden key, its eyes burning like embers. Through quick thinking and courage, they managed to tame it and obtain the key. Finally, in the castle's highest tower, they found the last artifact: an ornate amulet that amplified their abilities. "You seek the three artifacts?" it asked, its voice a whisper in the darkness. The adventurers nodded, intrigued by this mysterious being. "To find them," the figure continued, "you must journey through hidden passages, confront strange creatures, and face your deepest fears." With that, the figure disappeared into the shadows as the adventurers exchanged nervous glances. The group ventured deeper into the castle, discovering a hidden library filled with ancient tomes and scrolls. They read of the artifacts' power and the insurmountable obstacle that stood before them. With newfound resolve, they embarked on their quest, following whispers and clues through the labyrinthine castle. As the beast lay defeated, they pressed on, uncovering more hidden passages and finding clues that led them ever closer to the artifacts. Finally, after countless challenges and harrowing moments, the adventurers found themselves before the three magical artifacts, their power radiating through the air. With a surge of determination, they grasped the artifacts, feeling a surge of energy course through their veins. The castle at the crossroads would never forget the brave souls who had dared to enter its dark halls, and the tales of their journey would be shared for generations to come. Once upon a time in the land of Varelia, a group of brave adventurers found themselves at a crossroads. They had heard whispers about an ancient castle that held secrets and dangers beyond imagination. Despite their fears, they decided to embark on a journey to uncover its mysteries. As they approached the castle, they were greeted by a mysterious old man who warned them of an insurmountable obstacle within the castle walls. Undeterred, the adventurers pushed forward and entered the dark, eerie castle. The echoes of their footsteps reverberated through the empty halls as they explored deeper into its depths. "We must stay vigilant," whispered one adventurer as they fought off a pack of shadows that lurked in the darkness. "This castle holds many secrets, but together we can overcome them." After overcoming numerous challenges and confronting their fears, the group finally found the first artifact, a glowing amulet filled with ancient power. As they continued their search for the remaining two artifacts, they discovered hidden passages and uncovered more of the castle's secrets. In the dimly lit corridors of the ancient castle, whispers echoed through the stone halls. The group of adventurers exchanged glances, their hearts pounding with anticipation and fear. The weight of the mysterious figures and strange creatures that haunted these walls seemed to press down on them as they ventured deeper into the labyrinthine structure. Suddenly, a hidden passage revealed itself, beckoning the group to enter. With bated breath, they stepped through the concealed door, only to find themselves in an opulent library filled with dusty tomes and scrolls. The air was thick with knowledge, as if the very books held secrets waiting to be unleashed. One of the adventurers, a skilled scholar, spotted a peculiar symbol etched into the spine of an ancient book. "This must be one of the magical artifacts mentioned in the legends," he whispered, his voice echoing through the library. The others gathered around, eyes wide with wonder and expectation. Together, they worked to unravel the mystery behind the symbol, deciphering clues and riddles hidden within the texts. As they pieced together the information, they discovered that there were three magical artifacts scattered throughout the castle - each with its own unique power and purpose. The task at hand was now clear: retrieve all three artifacts and assemble them to face the insurmountable obstacle at the heart of the castle. With renewed determination, the adventurers split up to search for the remaining artifacts. As they navigated the hidden passages, each faced their own fears and confronted strange creatures lurking in the shadows. Yet, through these trials, they grew stronger, their bonds tightening as they leaned on one another for support. Finally, with all three artifacts in their possession, the group of adventurers stood ready to face the final challenge. Confident in their newfound strength and camaraderie, they knew that nothing could stand in their way. They were prepared to face whatever awaited them at the heart of the castle - for they had conquered fear itself. In the heart of a stormy night, five brave adventurers approached the ancient Castle of Whispers. Its towers loomed menacingly, shrouded in shadows, while gusts of wind howled through the narrow windows. The group consisted of Sir Roland, a courageous knight; Isabella, a skilled archer; Alaric, a wise mage; and twins Eamonn and Elara, nimble thieves. As they crossed the drawbridge, the castle doors creaked open, revealing a hidden passage that led them to a grand library. The air was filled with the scent of ancient parchment and dust. They discovered three scrolls, each detailing the location of a magical artifact scattered throughout the castle. Their quest had begun. The first artifact lay in the heart of a maze-like garden, guarded by a creature that resembled both serpent and dragon. "We must be stealthy," warned Alaric. With Isabella's sharp eyes guiding them, they navigated the labyrinth, narrowly avoiding the watchful gaze of the guardian. Eamonn and Elara picked the locks to the chamber housing the artifact, and the group marveled as it materialized before their eyes. The second artifact was hidden within a room that seemed to defy time, its walls adorned with murals depicting countless battles. "We must face our fears to obtain this prize," said Roland, his voice echoing in the chamber. As each adventurer confronted their deepest phobia, they unlocked the secrets of the room and claimed the artifact. Finally, they reached the castle's highest tower, where a colossal spider awaited them, weaving an intricate web that seemed to stretch for miles. "We must work together," decided Isabella, rallying the group. They combined their skills, using Eamonn and Elara's agility, Alaric's magic, and Sir Roland's strength to subdue the spider and retrieve the last artifact. Now armed with all three magical objects, the adventurers stood ready to face the insurmountable obstacle at the heart of the Castle of Whispers. They had grown stronger together, their bonds forged by adversity and triumph. And so, they charged into the unknown, eager to prove that even in the darkest of castles, courage and camaraderie could conquer all. In the darkness of night, five adventurers gathered before the imposing entrance of an ancient castle. They had heard tales of mysterious figures and strange creatures that roamed its halls, and now they were determined to uncover the truth behind the legends. With trepidation in their hearts and courage in their souls, they entered the castle. As they navigated through the dimly lit corridors, they stumbled upon a hidden passage that led them to an immense library. The air was heavy with the scent of ancient texts, and they could feel the weight of countless stories and secrets. Among the dusty volumes, they discovered three magical artifacts, each more powerful than the last. The group split into pairs, exploring different parts of the castle in search of further hidden passages and clues. In the dungeons, one pair faced a ravenous monster with the help of an enchanted sword, while another duo discovered a room filled with arcane mirrors that reflected not just their physical appearance, but their deepest fears. They overcame these challenges with teamwork, communication, and unwavering determination. As the sun began to rise, the adventurers reconvened in the grand hall, artifacts in hand. They had grown closer through their trials, forging bonds that could not be easily broken. As they prepared to face the insurmountable obstacle at the heart of the castle, they knew they were ready, for they had faced their fears and emerged stronger together. And so, with newfound courage and camaraderie, the group of adventurers marched toward the heart of the ancient castle, eager to confront whatever lay within its depths. In a dimly lit passage, they came across a room filled with skeletons. The bones seemed to come alive as they heard eerie whispers, threatening to consume their fears. But united by their bravery, the adventurers pushed forward. Through a concealed door, they found themselves in a room filled with ancient books. One by one, they located and retrieved the magical artifacts hidden within the pages. As they assembled the trio of powerful relics, the castle seemed to come alive around them, revealing hidden passages and unveiling its darkest secrets. With their newfound strength and camaraderie, the adventurers felt ready to confront the insurmountable obstacle at the heart of the castle. As they marched towards their final challenge, they knew that no matter what lay ahead, they were stronger together. And so, they braced themselves for the ultimate test of courage and determination, fueled by the enchanting glow of the three magical artifacts they had come to possess. In a remote, fog-shrouded village at the edge of a vast forest stood an ancient castle. Whispers of its dark past echoed through the centuries, and the villagers dared not venture near its crumbling walls. But a group of brave adventurers, drawn by the allure of untold riches and mysteries, decided to face their fears and enter the castle's foreboding gates. As they explored the castle's depths, the adventurers stumbled upon a hidden passage that led them to a grand library. The air was thick with dust, and cobwebs adorned every surface. But among the worn-out tomes, they found cryptic writings about three magical artifacts scattered throughout the castle. Their quest began in earnest as they searched for the first artifact, a shimmering crystal hidden in a chamber filled with strange creatures. The adventurers had to use their wits and courage to outsmart the bizarre beings and claim the crystal. Further into the castle, they discovered the second artifact: a mysterious key that opened a secret door, revealing an ancient alchemist's lab. They found themselves face-to-face with the castle's enigmatic caretaker, who challenged them to solve riddles and overcome tests of skill to prove their worthiness for the key. Finally, they located the third artifact, a sacred scroll hidden within the depths of a shadowy crypt. There, they encountered an ethereal being that revealed the castle's dark history. With newfound understanding and determination, the adventurers assembled all three artifacts. As the adventurers stood together in the heart of the castle, they felt stronger than ever before. They were ready to face the insurmountable obstacle that lay ahead, having grown stronger through their journey together. In the dead of night, under a full moon that cast eerie shadows on the ancient castle walls, five brave adventurers stood before the entrance. They were determined to uncover the secrets hidden within its cold stone halls. The air was thick with anticipation and fear, as they knew only the bravest had dared to enter these hallowed grounds. As they ventured deeper into the castle, whispers echoed through the corridors, beckoning them towards an ancient library. The room was filled with dusty tomes, their pages yellowed and fragile. They could feel the weight of untold stories and secrets as they delved further into the books. Inside, they discovered a prophecy that spoke of three magical artifacts scattered throughout the castle. With renewed purpose, the adventurers set off to find these artifacts. In their search, they encountered mysterious figures, some friendly and others hostile. They faced challenges that tested their courage and wit, and confronted their fears as they delved deeper into the labyrinthine castle. Through it all, they discovered hidden passages that led them to the heart of the ancient structure. Finally, after days of searching, they assembled the three magical artifacts and felt a surge of power coursing through them. With newfound strength and determination, they prepared to face the insurmountable obstacle at the center of the castle. As they stood before the final door, they knew that their journey was far from over, but they were ready for whatever lay ahead. Once upon a time, in a land shrouded in mist and mystery, there stood an ancient castle known as Blackthorn Keep. It was said that within its dark stone walls were hidden passages leading to untold secrets and treasures beyond imagination. A group of brave adventurers had heard the whispers of this place and decided to venture into the castle's depths, hoping to uncover the truth behind the rumors. As they entered through the crumbling gates, a chilling wind swept through the courtyard. The air was heavy with the scent of decay and secrets long forgotten. With torches flickering in hand, the group cautiously stepped into the castle's dimly lit halls. They soon stumbled upon a dusty room filled with strange symbols etched into the walls. A mysterious figure appeared, his voice echoing through the chamber. "You seek the power of the three magical artifacts, do you not?" The adventurers exchanged glances, unsure if they should trust this enigmatic stranger. After a moment's hesitation, they nodded in agreement. The figure smiled, revealing sharp, pointed teeth. "Very well. To claim the artifacts, you must face your deepest fears and navigate the hidden passages of Blackthorn Keep." As they delved deeper into the castle, each adventurer confronted their own personal demons – some faced the loss of loved ones, while others wrestled with their insecurities. With every challenge overcome, their bond grew stronger, and the castles' mysteries began to unravel. They discovered an ancient prophecy, foretelling that only those who had conquered their fears could assemble the artifacts and face the final test. In the heart of the castle, they found a chamber adorned with intricate mosaics depicting three mythical beings – a dragon, a phoenix, and a shadowy figure. The adventurers placed the magical artifacts into their respective pedestals, causing the chamber to tremble and a hidden passage to reveal itself. With newfound courage, they ventured forth, ready to face the insurmountable obstacle that lay before them, knowing that they had conquered far greater challenges within themselves. As the group of adventurers cautiously approached Blackthorn Keep, they could sense the air growing colder and heavier with an ominous presence. The ancient castle loomed before them, its towers reaching up towards the sky like accusing fingers. As they entered, the first mysterious figure appeared - a silent shadow that seemed to follow them as they ventured deeper into the castle. Whispers echoed through the halls, beckoning them into hidden passages and secret chambers. The group divided, some taking different paths in search of clues to guide them towards their goal. In one hidden room, a character named Elara found an ancient scroll containing cryptic instructions. "I think we're getting close," she whispered to her companion, Thorne. "But these riddles are maddening!" As they pieced together the clues, another figure revealed itself - a ghostly apparition that seemed both menacing and pitiful. The group, now united again, decided to confront this entity and learn more about its purpose within the castle. With newfound courage, Elara approached the specter. "Why are you here?" she asked, her voice trembling with fear and determination. The apparition spoke in a raspy whisper, "I am bound to guard this place until the power of the three artifacts is restored. Only then can I find peace." As the adventurers continued their journey, they knew that the task before them was more than just a quest for treasure - it was a race against time to set a tormented soul free. The group of adventurers, now bound by camaraderie and a shared purpose, pressed onward, their steps echoing through the castle's twisting corridors. They stumbled upon another hidden passage, this one leading them to an ancient library filled with dusty tomes and cryptic scrolls. It was here that they discovered clues that would lead them to the final resting place of the magical artifacts. Inside the heart of the castle, a labyrinth of mirrors reflected distorted images, making it impossible to discern reality from illusion. The adventurers' minds began to waver, their resolve wavering under the relentless barrage of fear and self-doubt. But they pushed forward, driven by a shared determination that refused to be broken. Finally, they reached the chamber where the artifacts lay, guarded by a monstrous creature of shadow and darkness. The adventurers braced themselves for the battle of their lives, their hearts pounding in unison as they faced the insurmountable obstacle at the heart of Blackthorn Keep. And so, with courage and determination, they would either succeed or fail together, forever bound by their shared journey into the realm of the Gothic and unknown.

Here is a song about my rock collection! It is a tune you probably recognize. Lyrics under the cut!
Permit me to parade my petrological anthology Collected in my quest for comprehensive mineralogy. Their shininess is second to their science and lithology. This song’s about my rock collection! Man, I love geology.
Oh, amethyst is purple ‘cause of iron, isn’t that real neat? And citrine is just amethyst plus lots of geothermal heat. And smoky quartz is brown from radiation and aluminum… Inclusions such as chlorite, rutile, goethite can bloom in ‘em!
(Inclusions such as chlorite, rutile, goethite can bloom in ‘em!) (Inclusions such as chlorite, rutile, goethite can bloom in ‘em!) (Inclusions such as chlorite, rutile, goethite can bloom in bloom in ‘em!)
Oh, sapphire and ruby, well, they’re both corundum chemically And emerald, aquamarine, and morganite are beryl. See, Historically each color had a different etymology And now they’re in my rock collection! Man, I love geology.
(Historically each color had a different etymology) (And now they’re in my rock collection! Man, I love geology.)
My fluorite is a favorite when it’s glowing under UV light. But should it be from Rogerley it changes when the sun is bright. And if you like fluorescence, put this fact inside your cranium: Chalcedony glows green because of ions of uranium!
When making porcelain vases, you need kyanite that’s powdered fine And celestine’s in fireworks and toothpaste such as Sensodyne. There’s mica in your drywall, and the litterbox has zeolites… Your bones and teeth and kidney stones are all hydroxylapatites!
(Your bones and teeth and kidney stones are all hydroxylapatite!) (Your bones and teeth and kidney stones are all hydroxylapatite!) (Your bones and teeth and kidney stones are all hydroxyl-apple-apa-tite!)
When dating strata layers ammonites can be real helpful guys. The sutures in their shell can tell how long ago they fossilized! And artifacts obsidian track trade in archeology. Those ancient folks had rock collections, man I love geology!
(And artifacts obsidian track trade in archeology.) (Those ancient folks had rock collections, man I love geology!)
Oh, did you know that peridot, as super hot peridotite Makes up the planet’s mantle and is also found in meteorites? Which make lechatelierite when it’s sandy soil that they strike. Another form of that is made by lightning, that’s called fulgurite!
Well, garnet makes the best dodecahedrons that you’ve ever seen. Prismatic crystals with three sides are quite unique to tourmaline. A certain mine in Spain produces pyrite that is cubical… Lepidolite can be botryoidal, but that’s quite unusual.
(Lepidolite can be botryoidal, but that’s quite unusual!) (Lepidolite can be botryoidal, but that’s quite unusual!) (Lepidolite can be botryoidal, but that’s quite unusu-usu-al!)
My knowledge of earth sciences is only as an amateur. But hounding and collecting rocks ain’t only for a connoisseur. And for my love of minerals I’m making no apology. Cause rocks are fun for everyone and man, I love geology!
