Idea.
Tsuna but he breaks the Seal somehow, blame Yakuza or whatever, learns about the whole mafia thing, again blame the Yakuza, and he decided to full Dabi arc on Iemitsu.
Doesn't help that when he meets Basil he understandably thinks he looks way too similar to him to be a coincidence.
Tsuna is ,,, slow.
Dame, as everyone else, including his own mother, so often calls him.
And, as much as it hurts, Tsuna knows it's true.
He's a loser, a bottom-of-the-food-chain type of nobody whose only skill is being the perfect target.
That's just the way his life is.
Always has been, and always will be.
Except ,,,
E x c e p t
~~~
Tsuna stares down at the flames wreathing his hands at first to keep from looking at the still-smoldering bodies that are sprawled in a semi-circle around him.
But soon Tsuna finds himself captivated by the flames themselves, finds himself staring down at the crimson-shot orange flicker of their edges with nothing short of awe.
For all that Tsuna feels no real heat against his skin, the flames coating his hands seem almost alive. Their edges flicker and pulse with a sort of rhythm that almost feels familiar to Tsuna for some reason.
Heartbeat, something murmurs in the back of Tsuna's mind, a voice that is his-and-not-his all at the same time supplying the answer.
Tsuna knows it's right. Knows that these flames pulse in time to his own heartbeat. Knows that these flames, whatever they are, are his and his alone.
Knows that they will never hurt him.
Not like they'd hurt the yakuza grunts who'd grabbed him on his way home from school.
~~~
Mind whirling and yet somehow almost frighteningly calm and with his flames somehow hidden in the curves of both his palms, Tsuna leaves the warehouse behind and makes his way home.
He has so many questions, so many things he wants and needs to know.
They all run through Tsuna's mind as he walks, steps sure and steady after what feels like a lifetime of living in a body that just doesn't fit right.
All the while that little voice from before whispers truths into Tsuna's ear.
~~~
Nana doesn't even realize he was late.
Doesn't bother to ask why his uniform is ripped and stained.
Doesn't ask where he got the bruise Tsuna knows is already darkening his jaw.
~~~
But then, she never does.
~~~
With the bedroom door shut and locked behind him, Tsuna sits down on the edge of his bed and just ,,,
Stops.
For a while Tsuna just sits there, eyes unfocused and mind filled with a buzzing sort of feeling that he can't quite put his finger on.
Eventually, he comes back to himself in pieces, in trickles.
Tsuna breathes.
In.
Out.
He flexes his hands.
Open.
Closed.
He counts his heartbeats by the pulse of the flames still nestled in his palms.
He finally identifies the feeling buzzing around in his skull.
Rage.
Pure, unadelterated rage.
The type of anger that feels mythic.
The type of ire that feels almost too big for Tsuna's body.
It is, Tsuna can't help but think just a bit absently, the type of fury that could eat stars.
And Tsuna is, for what feels like the very first time in his life, so very hungry.
~~~
Tsuna has always been slow.
Dame, as everyone else, including his own mother, so often calls him.
Except ,,,
E x c e p t
~~~
Tsuna is eleven years old when he decides he's going to kill his father.
And in the back of Tsuna's mind that little voice purrs.
On a scale of 1-10, how tragic is it to be greeted by the sight of your family having the time of their life with your perceived Replacement after you just crawled your way out of hell trying to get back to them?
changeling danny has his wretched little claws in me so here's some AU fey lore
Okay so, i've got a lot of ideas for the Fey Lore in this au. But to start out what may become a sling of posts: a simplified set up of the Infinite Realms. I think I mentioned it before in a reblog of the original changeling danny post, but the fey wilds exist in the IR. In most fanon I see the same scale as the rest of the realms, however i have a different idea for it.
In simplified terms, the fey wilds and the ghost zone are two different things. They both exist in the Infinite Realms, however, they exist on different planes of existence. In simplified terms, there are three separate planes in the Infinite Realms.
The Long Far: Highest realm in the infinite realms. Home to most, if not all, the Ancients. Beings that reside in The Long Far are eldritch abominations, gods, personifications of concepts, and other celestial-type beings. The only way to access the Long Far is through the Starflare Currents in the Feywilds. Which are a nebula of stars that work similar to the ocean currents in Finding Nemo. They are a rapid vortex full of stars that pass over the feywilds that can be seen at night. In order to reach the Long Far, one must fly up to the Current and latch onto one of the stars rapidly flying past. And then they must stay on the star until the currents begin to ascend rapidly upwards. This is harder than it sounds. Ever been indoor surfing? Where you lie on your stomach on a small board and try not to get flung off? Exact same concept. It’s basically the world’s most terrifying escalator to the gods.
The Fey Wilds: The Fey Wilds isn't exactly strictly home to the Fey, however for convenience sake I'm calling it the Fey Wilds. This is the home to fey and other folklore and mythological creatures that may not want to reside in the Ghost Zone. There are no Fey in the GZ. It's not that they hate being down there, but. well.. they hate being down there. They think the place is ugly. The Fey Wilds has ever shifting, expanding amount of biomes. These biomes range from massive redwood forests, to swamps, to essentially Pandora from Avatar. The place can look almost entirely human one moment, and then like a different planet the next. Fey and other inhabitants know how to navigate this easily -- but ghosts? Not so much. There are currently two known ways to reach the Fey Wilds from the Ghost Zone and vice versa: Lake Portals, and Cave Tunnels. Which I will expand upon in a moment.
Ghost Zone: Exactly how it sounds! The Ghost Zone is, well, the ghost zone! It's essentially the same as canon. Same looks, same everything. This is the home of mortal souls and the occasional mythological creature or two, as well as weaker concept spirits. By that I mean like, ecto-octopi. Concept spirits can manifest in both the GZ and Feywilds. Ghosts tend to stick inside the Ghost Zone and avoid venturing into the Fey Wilds because, well, they're still mortal souls. They're gonna get jumped by a fey looking for a new decoration or a new pet/servant/whatever. Best to honestly avoid the fey wilds as a whole.
Now, I just mentioned that there were two known ways to reach the Fey Wilds from the Ghost Zone: lake portals and cave tunnels. I made goofy little visual aides which I will attach below, and then I will explain how they work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll start with the Lake Portals. They are, well, as the name suggests lake portals. Not every lake in the fey wild is a portal to the ghost zone, and vice versa. They're rather uncommon to find in both planes, but it's not like they're hard to recognize.
In the Fey Wilds, lake portals will have a sheen over the water like an oil spill. But instead of the regular rainbow-y colors, it will instead have the ghost zone's colors swirling in it; green and purple. The water will have that sickly green tint to it, and have a slight glow. The plant life surrounding the water are not typically what you'd find in the Fey Wilds, but might in the Ghost Zone. They look different from the regular noxious swamp bogs in the wilds, so its easy to tell that they're lake portals.
In the Ghost Zone, the lake portals will instead be shimmery and blue like a tropical ocean. And just like how there are GZ plants in the fey wilds surrounding the water, there's fey wild plants on the island where the lake is.
How these portals work is rather simple. You dive in and begin swimming down. It's a long swim down, but that's all you gotta do. It will get dark, as there are no plant life in these portals, and no aquatic life either.
It starts getting complicated when you reach what I like to call the border. The border is as the name implies; its a border between the planes. In the lakes it's not physical, however you will feel when you've reached the border and crossed it. Intense vertigo washes over you as your sense of gravity begins to shift and flip; up is becoming down, down is becoming up.
Your goal at this point is to try and push through that vertigo and discomfort and make it to the other side of the border, without getting flipped upside down and swimming back to the surface you came from. This is harder than it sounds as you become dizzy underwater, and since there's no light anywhere, you will try and instinctively seek it out and follow it. You're down too deep to know where that light is.
Once you've reached the other end of the border successfully, your gravity will have flipped without you needing to do anything. You are now swimming up to the surface, and once you do, boom! You're in the ghost zone! Lake Portals are faster to use than tunnels, but very disorientating.
Now cave tunnels are longer, but simpler. Essentially some caves have tunnels that lead into the ghost zone, similar to how in greek mythology there are random entrances to the underworld in the mortal world. I haven't exactly figured out what the tell is for when you're in a tunnel leading to the Ghost Zone, but I know that when it's the other way around it's rather easy -- as you start to climb up.
It's a less complicated explanation: essentially you are descending into the ghost zone through this tunnel. You are on your way down like Orpheus in search of his wife, or like Heracles doing his twelve labors. It can get claustrophobic and of course there is the border.
Unlike experiencing a shift in gravity, you're instead hit with the intense vertigo and an intrinsic fear to turn around. It's an instinctual response to your surroundings changing on a molecular level, and your body in response is telling you to Flee. Basically, you've taken a rip of the Cave Gasses and you feel like you're losing your mind. Once you exit the border its smooth sailing.
Sometimes you get unlucky and there's a Pit Drop and you're suddenly Alice in Wonderlanding your way down to the Ghost Zone. But hey! At least you're not swimming.
those are currently the only two ways i've come up with for traveling between the GZ and Fey Wilds. But all in all, it's meant to be very disorientating stuff; vertigo and nausea-inducing, with just a dash of Existentially Terrifying. Traveling between planes usually is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haha yeah!! Loop-king, King of Loops, figurehead of the universe, constellation formed by the collapsing stars and wishes that bind them, that define them, a responsibility and love born of generations of dying stars and supernovas and stardust and new stars - or something like that!
A Loop, certainly. We're all Loop in these parts.
so remember when the specialists had dragons?..
Tumblr media
they used to ride them throughout seasons 1-3 and it appearead to be part of their training.
first years at the Red Fountain must be dying for the day their training with the dragons starts. because - dragons!! those mythical, badass, fire-breathing machines of destruction - they are probably so sacred in Magix's culture due to their ties to the Great Dragon!! who wouldn't be excited at the opportunity?
it might even be a rite of passage for the specialists. like, yes - you train, you go on missions, you give your oaths to protect the balance of the universe. but it is once you earn the privilege of riding a dragon - once you bond with them, properly and spiritually - only then, can you call yourself a true Specialist.
even though it is a mandatory part of their education, once you pass the course - you are not required to ride or even guaranteed to have a dragon. you gotta bond with one first, and put in the work of training, taming and flying with the creature regularly. it's a huge commitment, both personal and academic (considered outdated too, now that cosmic ships are a thing) that not everybody is willing to make.
from the boys, Sky and Riven believe in the image of a perfect specialist the hardest. the upholder of good and right, the dragon rider, the knight. both of them so desperately want to be that, to quell their inner voices that tell them they are too rotten at their core. they pursue dragon-riding beyond the mandatory course, and get to keep their dragons upon graduation.
Sky's dragon is small, yet quick as lightning. He lovingly calls her Pearl. Sky hesitates to ride her into battles, instead taking her flying laps around Erendor.
Riven's dragon is a Big Boi, nicknamed Fang. Riven felt connected to that big, hurt tomcat of a dragon immediately - for Fang, it was more of a slow burn lol.
Timmy had a legit allergy on dragons. poor boy barely survived the course and staunchly relegated himself to cosmic ships.
Nabu was never an actual Red Fountain student, so he didn't get to train with dragons - but he is very curious of them and loves to study them from a distance.
Brandon never felt as free as when he was riding a dragon's back. his trainee dragon was named Sunrise - for her golden, shimmering scales and fiery temperament; they loved to fly together. however, he didn't continue the training, since his team already had two dragon riders and he wanted to be practical.
(Brandon misses Sunrise terribly, but she seems to hold a grudge and doesn't grace him with her attention when she visits)
Helia doesn't have a dragon anymore. nevertheless, he visits the dragon barracks and helps take care of them. both Fang and Pearl are very familiar with him - not affectionate, for that privilege is reserved for their riders, but not cold nor threatening either.
he did have a dragon, once. Dream. he was a young dragon - Saladin had raised Dream himself, promising the creature to Helia upon the latter's birth. the Specialist and the dragon's bond was so deep, Dream would often take on Helia's emotions.
Dream died on one of the missions Helia led. the boy was not resting well, training too much and eating too little - he was consumed with the responsibility of being his team's leader, and Saladin's 'prodigal' grandson. Dream took on his worries' as well, growing restless and tired. on that fateful day, the young dragon was not strong enough to stave off the rush of monsters - and was brutally massacred by them, in turn.
Helia dropped out of Red Fountain the next morning and never rode another dragon.
Okay okay okay okay listen for a sec! Allow me to dump my thoughts on you.
So, Red Son Didn't Know AU. Right after the story time at the dinner table, Red Son goes and confronts his parents. He feels like his life has absolutely SHATTERED. His parents, the two people he thought he could trust more than anyone else, LIED to him for his whole life. He feels betrayed, he feels enraged . . . He feels hurt.
The three of them run into each other in a hallway. Red Son demands to know WHY. Why didn't they tell him? Why did they separate the Fire from him? Why didn't they just help him learn to control it?! He could've been so powerful. THEY could've been so powerful! He could've conquered the world for them. He wouldn’t have had to fail so many times. He wouldn't have had to live his whole life feeling useless . . . like a failure.
DBK and Iron Fan try to deescalate the situation. Try to explain their reasoning. The Samati Fire was too dangerous. They just wanted to keep their son safe. They never loved him any less because he was without it.
Red Son doesn't believe them.
He storms off to his room. DBK tries to come talk to him, but Red Son pretends to be asleep. He spends hours sitting in his room, stewing in his anger and thinking. Scheming. Planning.
He makes a decision.
Right as MK and the others are about to steal one of the rings from DBK, Red Son appears and steals it first. DBK wakes up and tries to talk some sense into Red Son, but it doesn't work.
"I'll show you. I'll show ALL of you!! I will reclaim my birthright. I will reforge the Samati Fire. And I will PROVE that I am not some CHILD who can't control his own power!!! I'll make you PROUD OF ME!!!!"
Red Son leaves. DBK wants to go after him, but Iron Fan tells him that the two of them are the last people their son wants to see right now. DBK instead turns to MK and the gang and he humbly requests that they find Red Son. Help him see reason. Keep him safe. And bring him home. MK agrees.
Ohhhh, Anon's perfect apple ask is now giving me blessed imagery of Dusknoir cutting apple slices into bunny shapes. Maybe for Opal, maybe for him to show off, either way.
The soft, the dexterity, the GENTLENESS after such a prolonged period of violence he had undergone. Opal called him her gramps for a reason, after all.
[LIVE BROADCAST] - PRIVATE Seven Red Suns, No Significant Harassment
[ He's rusting. ] [ ... and it's getting worse the more we wait. ] [ I'm aware of that. It would be silly not to infer that from the plain text you sent earlier. ] [ I don't know, it all seems, improbable. ] [ I mean, usually, our repair mechanisms handle weathering for millions of cycles, but the situation he's in makes it almost impossible for anything to get done. ] [ Are you saying that a bit of corrosion isn't able to be removed with the power of dozens of rarefraction cells? ] [ Apparently not, and it doesn't make it better that his conduit systems are getting worse. ] [ ... ]
[ Well, at least we know what we're dealing with! ]
[ Right. ]
[ So, what is the next course of action? ] [ Well, I have a potential idea, that is, if you don't tell anybody about it~ ] [ As if I would ever! Who do you think I am? Unparalleled Innocence? ] [ I know, I kid, I kid! ] [ ... ] [ Well, way before this ordeal, I had a way to relay sensitive information through... private means. ] [ Can you guess how I did it? You get three attempts! ] [ Messenger. ] [ Aw snap! What gave it away? ] [ Logical answer for anybody trying to sneak info; plus, do you know who you're talking to? ] [ Clearly some mad scientist. ] [ Ha ha, very funny. ] [ Anyways, I created a messenger with the task of delivering several pearls worth of data to Moon. I doubt I am as experienced as you, but I still think I succeeded. ] [ I mean clearly you did, considering the state that it left her in. ] [ Well, some things go unplanned, what can I say? ] [ ... ] [ Unfortunately, the messenger didn't survive the trek back. Even I admit I didn't optimize its genes well enough. ] [ So why don't I get more... "practical" this time around with my newest creation? ] [ I guess it's worth a shot. Just as long as it can survive. ] [ It will. I'll make sure of it. ] [ It might be weaker, inferior, but anything works if it gets the message across. ]
Since Tsuna doesn't want any of the possible guardians in Nanimori. It's possible for him to harmonize with some of the Arcobaleno, right? The pain and betrayal they felt. They might/ could understand his side. Right??
#Red Sky Au #tsuna #Arcobaleno
By the time Reborn shows up and starts attempting to shove Guardians in Tsuna's direction it's going to be far too late on a number of levels.
The only potential guardian in Namimori who could have a chance of finding a place in Tsuna's Sky would be Hibari, the absolute beast that he is, but no matter how intriguing Hibari might now find Tsuna that doesn't mean it's going to happen. Because yes this version of Tsuna would have Hibari feral in one way or another, but this Tsuna also resents how Hibari's precious need for order never extended to protecting him from all of the abuse that was heaped on him.
But the Arcobaleno? oh they know betrayal, know rage, know what it means to have their bodies twisted against their will.
Nesting Season - Four Fours
It’s the middle of the night when something jolts Sky awake. He’s back on wing cover duty and Four should be soundly asleep. It’s too dark to see, but he’s squirming an awful lot under Sky’s wing. Is he having a nightmare?
Worry? Flockmate? Okay?
The squirming stops. Okay, all safe, comes the answer. It’s…odd, almost a chorus instead of one voice.
Sky blinks slowly; it’s so dark it’s hard to tell if his eyes are open or shut. Four is settled, though, and it’s not an hour for solving riddles. Giving up, Sky shifts into a more comfortable position and falls back asleep.
It’s a much more reasonable hour when Sky wakes again. Automatically, he raises his wing to check on Four.
There’s an odd chattering, and then a hiss as a hand darts out and grabs the edge of his wing, yanking it back down. Just…Four being crabby. Even if the sound is…worrying. Has the bee-eater ever done that before?
“Four?” Sky tries. “I need to get up.” He goes to lift his wing again.
From the darkness beneath his wings, a pair of green eyes gleam. Then a pair of red. Then blue. Then purple.
The eyes blink.
Sky screams and bolts up. The creatures start up a cacophony of hissing and chattering and more than one hand grabs for his wings.
Read the rest here!
WAIT I JUST HAD ANOTHER THOUGHT FOR THE DISASTER MEET THE INLAWS DINNER:
okay context: so in this AU, Danny and Dan are the only ones who don't know the batfam secret. Jazz figured it out when they first moved in next door to Jason. Damian told Elle after she trusted him with the truth about being a halfa. Elle didn't tell anyone else since it was a secret Damian trusted her with, while Jazz & Jason assumed that everyone else in the Nightingale family knew and never really brought it up.
It just completely sailed over Dan & Danny's heads. Even though part of the deal the family worked out with the Spirit of Gotham is to help protect her Bats and Birds (that's why Dan ended up in Bludhaven, to help keep Nightwing safe) and they regularly (secretly) follow the batfam around during patrols and fights to help make sure nothing bad happens to them.
Which brings us to the disaster dinner where, after things have almost calmed down from the chaos and embarrassment of Elle and Damian's power point & movie, everyone is actually almost getting along. Turns out, getting horribly roasted by the two gremlins helped break the ice a bit. It's kinda hard for the Bats to hold on to as much of the suspicion for the Nightingales as before when they just watched a supercut of everyone’s most embarrassing moments from the past five years with color commentary from the Chaos Duo.
Which is to say Danny is feeling comfortable enough - with some edging on by Elle - to reveal his conspiracy theory about who Batman is, to Bruce.
Just looks Bruce straight in the eye and with his whole heart and soul asks, "So, like you're for sure Batman's sugar daddy right?" -
While this is a modern au, magic still exists. And while I had to tweak their backstories a bit, I’m trying to keep them, them. You know what I mean? (Apparently Zelda is a very popular name for girls)
I only have a few of their backstories worked out, since I’m less familiar with a few of them (legend and Hyrule I’m sorry I don’t know anything about the defeated timeline…. That’s a lie I know a bit)
Warriors is a war veteran who’s friends with the presidents daughter, Zelda. She eventually ran for president, and to no one’s surprise she won. Cia was an ex of his who used to be a fellow soldier. After he alerted the general of what she did to him, she’s in jail now. Later in his life he was diagnosed with npd.
Wind lived in a small fishing town, and always had a love for the ocean. He’s good at piloting boats. Winds still a kid, but he’ll tell you it dosnt matter because he used to keep the village safe from the “bad pirates” (because according to him, there are good pirates too. He is one of them)
Twilight used to be a farmer, but got caught up in some magic shit where he met Midna. Yes, he can still turn into a wolf. He was adopted by Rusl and Uli after he ran away from home at six, and he’s still haunted by the fact he left his siblings there. He’s planning on getting them back at some point.
Wild used to be a body guard for some rich guys daughter, also named Zelda. However, he got in a freak accident (I’m thinking horrible car accident but that wouldn’t exactly fit would it?) and came out of the ordeal with severe amnesia. He’s now friends with Zelda.
Sky came from a small settlement on the outskirts of Hyrule called skyloft, with almost nothing to his name and desperate for a job. He was still visits often. Sky may or may not be dating the leader of the villages daughter, Zelda (another Zelda? Who could have guessed). He used to be one of the top knights there, and would often be in charge of protecting the village. Poor guy has narcolepsy
Time grew up in the forest, as an orphan. It’s hard to say what really happened to him, as he dosnt remember, but there are some legends surrounding the forest he used to live in. Some say forest spirits used to live there, watching over the land. Some say a cult of children lived there. Some even say the forest was haunted. Either way, he was kidnapped at seven and held at the facility ever since. For some odd reason. He can speak the language you’ll often hear fairies speaking. No one’s sure why, he just thinks it’s normal. He can’t remember his name, Time was a nickname Malon gave him. He kept it because it sounded cool
Malon lost her ranch due to bankruptcy, and joined a testing facility out of desperation for cash. It seemed like the perfect job, most of the things she needed to do included physical work, and despite what some people seemed to think she’s actually quite smart. They gave her a place to stay, and good pay, and decent food. She found out what the place really was like, but it wasn’t like she could just leave.. Malon had promised to take care of that poor man she found.
I can’t think of much for four, all I know is he is infact FIVE people. Yes, you heard me correctly, four is five. Theres green, blue, red, Vio/purple, and Link
And there’s nothing for Hyrule or legend yet, feel free to submit ideas if you want to!
