regulus - he'd love taylor swift!! regulus' favourite albums would be ttpd, midnights & red tv. i don't make the rules (yes i do) 🤷‍♀️ his favourite songs from each album would be 'loml,' 'question...?' and 'treacherous' (which he'd never admit, but it's true)

barty - i can see barty saying he hates taylor just to piss of reg, but if 'king of my heart' came on, he'd vibe and def wouldn't turn it off (he associates it with evan 👀) (wanna unpack why that is, barty?)

evan - loves her. period. his fav album is reputation and his favourite songs are 'gorgeous,' 'don't blame me' & 'delicate' !! (he associates them with barty 😙😙)

pandora - her number one song on spotify wrapped EVERY YEAR, without fail, is 'i hate it here' by taylor. second top song is 'never grow up (taylor's version)'. she's a speak now tv girl!!

dorcas - also pretends to hate taylor, but 'the man' by taylor is on almost all of her "favourite song" playlists so 😋😋 she's a lover girl at heart, but she tells pandora (she's the only one who knows she likes taylor) that her favourite is evermore

emmeline vance - genuinely doesn't listen to taylor swift much, but would never hate on her or say anything against her. she just doesn't know much of her music or much about her, so she doesn't judge 🤷‍♀️ will listen to fearless tv with mary if asked though!!

emma vanity - she's a huge swiftie and she's LOUD about it. everyone knows she loves taylor; her favourite album is lover & fav song is 'cruel summer' (emma liked it before it blew up, and she makes sure to add that whenever she tells someone)!! emma is alsooo a huge red tv girl, but more the lover girl side of red, yk?? like she LOVES 'begin again,' 'run,' as well as 'forever winter'

amelia bones - her and emma bond at first bc of their love for taylor and just music in general !! amelia doesn't seem like it, but she's an evermore and, strangely enough, debut type of person. her favourite all-time taylor song is 'a place in this world' !! a close second for her is 'dorothea'

How different Marauders era characters would feel about Taylor Swift.

Sirius- Obsessed with Taylor and her music. If she has one fan, it's him. If she has no fans, he's dead (like all the people he loves). Acknowledges that she does some questionable things but always makes excuses for her. Was really upset when Taylor and Joe broke up. Gets annoyed when people don't listen to Taylor's Version. Collected every CD, vinyl, and piece of merch that he could.

James- Outwardly pretends he just likes the music, but actually really relates to a lot of the sadder songs (eg Tolerate It). Sings the sweet, romantic songs to Lily/Reg all the time.

Remus- Was always annoyed at how overplayed Taylor's songs were, so hated/disliked her songs. Reluctantly agreed to go to the Eras Tour with Sirius and listened to the setlist in preparation and actually really loved a lot of the songs, but kept pretending to hate her because he didn't want to admit he was wrong.

Peter- Wasn't a Swiftie but liked a few of her songs. Didn't really understand why she was rerecording her albums except that it was important to her and the Swifties.

Lily- Major Swiftie, related to loads of songs and loved almost all of the rest. Went through everyone's playlists and replaced everything with Taylor's Version.

Mary- Was a Swiftie but not massive levels of obsession like Lily or Sirius. Really related to some of the songs, liked how a bunch of others sounded.

Marlene- Gatekept her favourites, judged Swifties based on which albums/songs they liked.

Dorcas- Loved Taylor's music, memorised as many of her songs as possible. Critical of Taylor's actions but still loved her and her music. Didn't want to give any money to Scooter Braun etc by streaming non-Taylor's Version songs, so listened to Reg's CDs if she wanted to listen to something that wasn't Taylor's Version.

Regulus- Obsessed with every song. Refused to even have non-Taylor's Version playing near him, even in public. Was the type of person to say "You can't be a Lover stan if you don't like Afterglow" etc, especially to Sirius. Collected the cardigans and CDs.

Pandora- Huge folklore girlie. Not a huge pop girl, but loves the country/alternative albums.

Evan- Didn't count himself as a Swiftie, but all of his friends are obsessed with her so he's grown to like her music. Doesn't tell anyone what he thinks about different songs for fear of being murdered by the people he loves (like James and Lily on Halloween 1981).

Barty- Doesn't tell anyone outside of his friends that he likes Taylor, but secretly loves all of her music, especially her pop albums.

-never gets caught pranking people because he’s convinced a detention is the worst punishment in the world (knows even one mistake would give his parents enough reason to disown him, too)

-smells like lavender (bc of the hc that he needs sleeping potions to be able to sleep and not have nightmares) and coffee and maybe flowers

-hates fire and will sit as far away from it as possible even if he’s shivering soooo badly (hc that he used to love sitting in the rain and swimming before the whole cave incident and he’d come into the common room soaking wet and shivering and still refuse to sit near the fire) (evan and dorcas mother-henning him bc they’re genuinely concerned with this habit)

-his day will go absolutely horrible if he doesn’t make his bed in the morning or his schedule gets interrupted (is he on the spectrum? probably)

-was a big fan of Poe and Dickens and all kinda of muggle authors (he’d sneak out of Grimmauld when he was little and buy books from muggle shops. he just never got caught or told anyone, unlike Sirius who was very vocal about it) (he also borrowed some from Remus or Lily at times)

-also learned about love and marriage from watching his parents and for the longest time didn’t think love actually existed and that it was only a tale for children (like the tooth fairy or something) (forgot until editing this that Cupid exists, so he probably assumed it was a story like that with the love arrows)

-i don’t know many 70’s bands but he would have LOVED lana and conan, i’m convinced. (J would be such a swiftie tell me i’m wrong)

-doesn’t smile much but when he does it’s absolutely perfect (j absolutely melts when he sees it. R knows this and will absolutely use it to his advantage)

-doesn’t doodle but he writes poetry, often in the margins of book or on scraps of paper or whatever is closest to him. sometimes he’ll just lean over to james/panda/barty/whatever love interest you hc him with and scribble a little poem on their arm or hand just so he can get it out of him (see: Non-Stop from Hamilton)

-usually only wears black or green in public (but secretly loves when he and j are in private and he gets to wear all of j’s clothes, which are so loose and colorful and the complete opposite of the ones his parents allow him to be seen in)

-doesn’t dislike mcgonagall, but hates how pushy she can be about him joining ECs or whatnot (also hc that r, who’s favorite subject was potions and would even brew in his spare time, used to help make healing potions or sleeping droughts and whatnot for Pomfrey since she was always busy and never have time) (he would never admit it to anyone where he was going everyday when he was brewing them, though) (probably also how he realized Remus was a werewolf was because he was always around the infirmary helping out) (r would have been a healer in another life. one where he wasn’t expected to harm instead.)

-wouldn’t like most muggle sports (hates the rich people ones like golf or tennis but also hates how violent hockey or football could get) but he’d like ice/figure skating and ballet, and he would LOVE music (not so much listening to it, that’s j’s thing, but playing it. the piano or the violin, maybe. something delicate and pretty and requires precision)

yeahh while i respect everyones different opinions and i have nothing against taylor personally, my regulus does not listen to her 🙏 i can definitely see him listening to that 2000s “emo” music depending on the fic… honestly though, most often, i see regulus as a big fan of more indie rock, grunge, & alt rock bands.
