Help Mohammad's Family Evacuate from Gaza
“Over the past two years, my life journey has shifted from a tale of digital marketing success on social media platforms and Google to one marked by renewed challenges. Losing my job, along with essential equipment and contracts disrupted by internet outages, has set me back to square one, with a loss totaling around $3000. I’m Mohammed and this is my story.
Residing in Gaza, my family has weathered the storms of unjust wars and oppression. We had lost our home in the 2014 war, and after much difficulty in compensating for that loss, we faced a new setback in 2023 war on Gaza, losing everything we had recently acquired (our home, jobs and even our neighbourhood that had completely wiped out). We're now seven individuals without a real shelter, currently residing in displacement areas in the southern part of Gaza Strip that is unsuitable for living. We have no way even to return; everything is destroyed and we cannot even find away to stay alive! I spend my whole day thinking about my family and if we will survive this unbearable and unimaginable situation in this chaotic world. Hence, l started this crowdfunding campaign to help them out and find away to save their lives apart of the never-ending bombardments and military airplanes as my father needs an urgent treatment abroad after being injured in our house bombing. There are still fragments in his body that haven't been removed due to a lack of medical services and equipments.
My immediate family involves: Ismail Mahmoud (father), Iman Mohamed (mother), Areej (sister), Israa (sister), Mustafa (brother), and Abdul Rahman (little brother), a 14-year-old student whose educational pursuits were abruptly halted, depriving him of opportunities in English language learning and programming activities.
Israa, serving as both a STEM Lab Trainer and chemistry teacher, stands out in her ability to engage children in practical and enjoyable science education, guiding them through contemporary projects in artificial intelligence and evolution.
Mustafa, a young fashion entrepreneur, launched his clothing store in 2021 with a passion for style. Sadly, he faced a devastating setback, losing over $10,000. Now, he's determined to rebuild from scratch and restore his livelihood despite all the damage around. You can make a difference in his journey to recovery by supporting him in so many ways.
If you look deeply at my family, you’ll foresee how successful we were before this war!
Thus, The dire conditions in refugee camps pose an imminent threat, compelling us to seek refuge for my family to rebuild our lives with dignity and security. Therefore, We hope to raise over $70,000 for a safe life and to start a new dignified life from scratch again, including $40,000 to ensure our safe passage through the Rafah crossing, where the cost of crossing ranges between $5000 and $7000 per person. This will enable us to continue our professional lives and education without fear or terror.
Your donation, no matter how small, can have a significant impact in saving a family that has endured multiple wars and seeks safety. Thanks for showing love and support!”

If the past five years of EU tech rules could take human form, they would embody Thierry Breton. The bombastic commissioner, with his swoop of white hair, became the public face of Brussels’ irritation with American tech giants, touring Silicon Valley last summer to personally remind the industry of looming regulatory deadlines.
Combative and outspoken, Breton warned that Apple had spent too long “squeezing” other companies out of the market. In a case against TikTok, he emphasized, “our children are not guinea pigs for social media.”
His confrontational attitude to the CEOs themselves was visible in his posts on X. In the lead-up to Musk’s interview with Donald Trump, Breton posted a vague but threatening letter on his account reminding Musk there would be consequences if he used his platform to amplify “harmful content.” Last year, he published a photo with Mark Zuckerberg, declaring a new EU motto of “move fast to fix things”—a jibe at the notorious early Facebook slogan. And in a 2023 meeting with Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Breton reportedly got him to agree to an “AI pact” on the spot, before tweeting the agreement, making it difficult for Pichai to back out.
Yet in this week’s reshuffle of top EU jobs, Breton resigned—a decision he alleged was due to backroom dealing between EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and French president Emmanuel Macron.
“I'm sure [the tech giants are] happy Mr. Breton will go, because he understood you have to hit shareholders’ pockets when it comes to fines,” says Umberto Gambini, a former adviser at the EU Parliament and now a partner at consultancy Forward Global.
Breton is to be effectively replaced by the Finnish politician Henna Virkkunen, from the center-right EPP Group, who has previously worked on the Digital Services Act.
“Her style will surely be less brutal and maybe less visible on X than Breton,” says Gambini. “It could be an opportunity to restart and reboot the relations.”
Little is known about Virkkunen’s attitude to Big Tech’s role in Europe’s economy. But her role has been reshaped to fit von der Leyen’s priorities for her next five-year term. While Breton was the commissioner for the internal market, Virkkunen will work with the same team but operate under the upgraded title of executive vice president for tech sovereignty, security and democracy, meaning she reports directly to von der Leyen.
The 27 commissioners, who form von der Leyen’s new team and are each tasked with a different area of focus, still have to be approved by the European Parliament—a process that could take weeks.
“[Previously], it was very, very clear that the commission was ambitious when it came to thinking about and proposing new legislation to counter all these different threats that they had perceived, especially those posed by big technology platforms,” says Mathias Vermeulen, public policy director at Brussels-based consultancy AWO. “That is not a political priority anymore, in the sense that legislation has been adopted and now has to be enforced.”
Instead Virkkunen’s title implies the focus has shifted to technology’s role in European security and the bloc’s dependency on other countries for critical technologies like chips. “There's this realization that you now need somebody who can really connect the dots between geopolitics, security policy, industrial policy, and then the enforcement of all the digital laws,” he adds. Earlier in September, a much anticipated report by economist and former Italian prime minister Mario Draghi warned that Europe would risk becoming “vulnerable to coercion” on the world stage if it did not jump-start growth. “We must have more secure supply chains for critical raw materials and technologies,” he said.
Breton is not the only prolific Big Tech adversary to be replaced this week—in a planned exit. Gone, too, is Margrethe Vestager, who had garnered a reputation as one of the world’s most powerful antitrust regulators after 10 years in the post. Last week, Vestager celebrated a victory in a case forcing Apple to pay $14.4 billion in back taxes to Ireland, a case once referred to by Apple CEO Tim Cook as “total political crap”.
Vestager—who vied with Breton for the reputation of lead digital enforcer (technically she was his superior)—will now be replaced by the Spanish socialist Teresa Ribera, whose role will encompass competition as well as Europe’s green transition. Her official title will be executive vice-president-designate for a clean, just and competitive transition, making it likely Big Tech will slip down the list of priorities. “[Ribera’s] most immediate political priority is really about setting up this clean industrial deal,” says Vermuelen.
Political priorities might be shifting, but the frenzy of new rules introduced over the past five years will still need to be enforced. There is an ongoing legal battle over Google’s $1.7 billion antitrust fine. Apple, Google, and Meta are under investigation for breaches of the Digital Markets Act. Under the Digital Services Act, TikTok, Meta, AliExpress, as well as Elon Musk’s X are also subject to probes. “It is too soon for Elon Musk to breathe a sigh of relief,” says J. Scott Marcus, senior fellow at think tank Bruegel. He claims that Musk's alleged practices at X are likely to run afoul of the Digital Services Act (DSA) no matter who the commissioner is.
“The tone of the confrontation might become a bit more civil, but the issues are unlikely to go away.”

How to survive having a job that you don't like? (Sadly. It's not the vibe. But quitting is not an option)
Hi love! I empathize with you on this one. Spending your entire day and mental energy on tasks you dread doing (and need to execute well) can be overwhelmingly draining. I'm hoping that this job only takes up 5 days of your week! Here are my best tips:
Keep Your "Why" Top of Mind: Even if a job doesn't align with your interests and passions or is in a bad working environment, you have to focus on the short-term purpose the job provides. Relish in having a steady paycheck to give you food to eat and a roof over your head. While long-term you deserve to find more purpose in your work, having a semblance of financial security will always top having to constantly worry about where your next meal is coming from – even if you hate every moment of being on the clock.
Plan Ahead: Mentally work through the following day ahead of time. Plan the tasks, meetings, and logistics right when you're ending your work day. This framework allows you to overcome the mental blocks and dread before you can go into decompress mode, so you can just wake up and go through the motions the next day. Taking the emotional aspect out of the daily work you hate is the simplest way to avoid burnout (at least in the short term).
Systemize Your Days (When Possible): Creating systems for different tasks or even your entire day can help you be more productive and lighten your mental load. This practice can help you to get your dreaded work done in less time while allowing you to feel less drained at the end of your shift. It's a win-win strategy. Create email templates you save for different types of messages (client-facing, different types of projects, scheduling meetings, presentation notes, etc.), have a folder organizing your different projects, program different Excel formats, and have outlines of decks saved – almost like a pre-made template that's actually useful (and potentially unique).
Focus On Skill Building Over Purpose: Consider the transferable skills you're acquiring while enduring this position – even if they don't pertain to your desired industry or role. Some of these universally-helpful transferable skills include writing a killer email, building a convincing case or admirable deck, learning how to speak to clients or stakeholders with confidence and grace, team-building and collaboration, organization, interpersonal communication, or simply prolonging your attention span. Reflect and dive deep to consider all the life lessons you can leverage later on by holding down this occupation.
Find Ways To Network Outside of Work Hours: Follow & connect with colleagues and influential figures in your industry on social media. Thoughtfully engage with the content they share. Ask about treating them to coffee for an informational interview. Go out to industry-related events, conferences, etc., and make sure to connect with those you met on LinkedIn the next day with a personalized connection message. Connect two of your mutual connections whenever possible. Allow karma to work in your favor.
Lurk, Research, & Study To Optimize Your Job Search: Set aside 20-30 minutes a day to search LinkedIn, job boards, social media (Twitter, Instagram), etc. to see potential next opportunities and evaluate the current market, trends, and most in-demand skillsets within your field/industry. Always tailor your applications and messages to mutual connections or hiring managers when applying to new roles. Be aware of your desired role/industry is evolving. Upskill whenever possible to increase your market value.
Incorporate Simple Pleasures Into Your Days: Make your favorite coffee every morning, have a go-to playlist that improves your mood to listen to before work, incorporate your favorite healthy meals into your week, find a workout you enjoy to add into your day either before or after work, indulge in a favorite book or TV show after work as a "reward" for making it through the day. Practice self-care – do a face mask or specialty hair treatment on a weeknight. Invest in an at-home massage tool or luxurious loungewear to wear in the evenings.
Indulge In A Creative Outlet: Find an opportunity for growth and self-expression outside of a workplace setting. Write, read, paint, draw, cook, bake, take a dance class, learn a new language, how to play a new instrument, or about interior design. Create Pinterest boards, poems, new playlists, and new recipes to celebrate your desire for variety in your otherwise mundane life.
Have Plans To Look Forward To Every Week: Whether it's hanging out with friends, going to a museum, watching a movie, or taking a walk along your favorite local route. Ensure you enjoy how you spend your days off. Don't waste time worrying about a dead-end job when you're off the clock. Spending your leisure time on your own terms. Take this time to do what you love.
Romanticize The Lifestyle It Provides: When motivation or your morale hits a low point, take time for gratitude and focus on the resources this job allows you to integrate into your life – whether that's a roof over your head, the opportunity to eat meals you enjoy, wear outfits you love, or even just provide you some sort of daily routine.
Consider your current job as a chapter in your life and career. Acquire the lessons, skills, relationships, and resources you can as preparation for the next stage in your ever-evolving journey.
Hope this helps xx

-llion Impressions? You're hired! | BKDK | Office AU | Part 1
Over the past five years, Izuku Midoriya has dedicated himself tirelessly, honing his skills in digital marketing with a single goal in mind: securing a position at BKG Co., one of Japan's premier luxury fashion companies. His ultimate dream? To join DYNAMIGHT, a subsidiary renowned for its affordable sports and active wear.
But why DYNAMIGHT specifically? Well, therein lies a reason his friends still tease him about—Katsuki Bakugou, the scion of this vast conglomerate, and the commanding figure at DYNAMIGHT. It was Bakugou who ignited Midoriya's interest in marketing, shaping his career trajectory. Yet, commendably, what began as a pursuit driven by admiration evolved into a genuine passion.
Midoriya adamantly denies any claims of being a stalker; rather, he simply yearns for the opportunity to collaborate closely with Bakugou, whose business acumen he greatly admires. They're peers in age, which Midoriya can't help but find unfair. But his motivations remain pure: professional admiration, and perhaps, just maybe, a slight crush.
Contrary to common perception, Katsuki Bakugou could easily be mistaken for the embodiment of Lucifer himself. If his personality were depicted on a pie chart, it would consist of 50% anger, 40% fury, and a mere 10% annoyance, with variations depending on the stupidity of the ideas presented to him.
Despite his formidable persona (bolstered by his impeccable appearance), Bakugou is fortunate that his company's key employees are his college comrades. Without them, resignation letters would flood in, spelling doom for him. His brainchild, DYNAMIGHT, is his pride and joy, a venture he fiercely contested with his mother. He desired a company aligned with his vision, passions, and hobbies. Though he admits to being born into privilege, Bakugou defends his involvement in DYNAMIGHT; he micromanages every aspect and credits its success not to his parents' wealth, but to the collective genius of those who endure his abrasive demeanor, including himself.
Keen on maintaining their upward trajectory in sales, Bakugou currently grapples with his mother's attempt to poach a valuable member of his marketing team, someone exceptionally adept at their role. With a resigned sigh, he dials Mina, one of his college confidants and head of the Marketing Department.
Barely concealing his exasperation, he greets her, "What took you so long to pick up?"
But Mina, seasoned by years of friendship and shared trials during DYNAMIGHT's inception, responds with a laugh, "Hey there, hot shot! You know I can't resist a Slack huddle call. Gets me grooving!"
"This is serious, Mina!" Bakugou retorts sharply. "Mom's trying to snatch Shinsou for her team. Shinsou!"
Undeterred, Mina quips, "Relax, she just needs him for three months. Besides, I've been thinking we could use an extra pair of hands. We're swamped."
Frustrated, Bakugou presses on, "This is news to me, Mina."
With a sigh, Mina explains, "Your mom's sudden request for Shinsou got me thinking. We've needed more help since the start of the year."
Grudgingly, Bakugou relents, "Fine, find someone as good as Shinsou, if not better."
"Got it, boss," Mina replies, before ending the call.
Being nearly online 24/7, Izuku maintains a religious habit of checking both his personal and work emails. So, when he opened his personal inbox, he noticed an unread email labeled "DYNAMIGHT." He had set up this filter to ensure that all alerts from DYNAMIGHT Careers would be directed there automatically.
His heart raced as he glimpsed the subject line:
DYNAMIGHT Careers | Hiring: Social Media Manager
Always staying a step, or even two steps, ahead, Izuku ensured his resume was consistently up-to-date. Without hesitation, he clicked on the email and promptly submitted his resume through the provided link.
Clasping his hands together, he whispered fervently, "This is it! Oh, please, let this be my chance. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. Consider me as a candidate. THIS is the company I've always dreamed of working for!"
This moment had been eagerly anticipated; he was prepared. He had the experience to back it up, ready to showcase the campaigns he'd spearheaded throughout his career. Manifesting that they would choose him, he yearned for the opportunity to finally meet his idol.
In just 12 hours, DYNAMIGHT's hiring team wasted no time in extending an interview invitation to Izuku. He couldn't contain his joy, almost on the verge of tears. After all, he was the mastermind behind the highly successful social media campaign for a cola featuring none other than Yagi Toshinori, the legendary actor renowned for his portrayal of All Might. It was a significant achievement, collaborating with his idol, and now, he had the opportunity to join the company he'd always dreamed of working for.
The company boasted excellent reviews, gathered meticulously over the years from platforms like Indeed and Glassdoor. A competitive salary package, paid time off, generous employee benefits, and a commitment to work-life balance were among the perks. However, a recurring complaint caught Izuku's attention in every review: "the salary and benefits compensate for the unpleasant demeanor of our boss." It raised a slight concern, but Izuku reasoned that he could endure any tirades if the compensation was right. Money was his primary motivator.
Upon receiving the interview invitation, Izuku promptly replied, confirming his availability for the scheduled interview slot, intending to request time off from his current job. Speaking of which, he hoped his colleagues Hatsume and Kendo would understand his decision to resign if he secured the position at DYNAMIGHT.

a new article on a sports newspaper today with an update on gavi: https://www.lesportiudecatalunya.cat/barca/article/2425850-gavi-a-tota-maquina.html
There are only eight days left until the start of the European Championship in Germany, but Pablo Martín Páez Gavira missed this train months ago, when on November 19, at José Zorrilla in Valladolid, the Barça footballer's knee said enough in that fateful match against Georgia, a qualifier for the European Championship, Gavi tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee, an injury that also affected the external meniscus. Six and a half months have passed since then, and on June 6, Gavi is completely focused on one thing: the return. It's getting closer every day. Its evolution is very good.
Yesterday, Barça published a video on its social media where you can see Gavi working at maximum intensity in the sports city's facilities, doing high-intensity exercises in the gym to strengthen the muscles in the affected area. The recovery is going very well, even better than expected at the start, but it is also known that with this type of injury you have to be careful. Unhurried positivism. This is the motto. But it is also true that Gavi's attitude infects anyone with optimism. His character makes him unique, and the intensity and passion he transmits in the field is the same attitude with which this recovery work has been undertaken from day one. Hansi Flick fell in love with Gavi's engagement in the first contact they both had a few days ago in the sports city. Flick also met at the Barça facilities with other injured players, such as Frenkie de Jong and Alejandro Balde, but in the specific case of Gavi he was fascinated by his positivity and his attitude towards work. It is the discipline and fighting spirit that Flick imposed on Bayern and that he will now try to instill in Barça. Gavi already has this built in as standard and is destined to be an important figure in Flick's plans when he becomes available again.
This last season 2023/24, the one from Los Palacios was only able to play a total of 15 games with the Blaugrana shirt (12 in the league and 3 in the Champions League). Xavi and Barça have missed him. Neither the player nor Flick set a date for their return, but Hansi already knows that Gavi's signing will be the big signing of the 2024/25 season. The forecasts are, if all goes well, that the culer midfielder will join training with his teammates in the month of August, and he is expected to play again around the month of October. The president Joan Laporta already warned on Tuesday that this summer the club does not intend to carry out major market operations, only the strictly necessary ones, specifically he said that there would be no major sales or major signings, and in this scenario of minimums, the return from Gavi will be the best reinforcement.
Gavi's profile fits well into Flick's football idea of pressing high up. Flick's football is intensity, and Gavi's virtues fit in the advanced midfielder within the 4-2-3-1 system that Flick has always used. He would also fit in the double pivot, although in this position Flick knows that he would see one of his great virtues diminished, which is the arrival in the opponent's area.
Xavi Hernández has always described Gavi as "a heart with legs". His passion and temperament, never giving up a split ball, make him a treasure for any manager, and everything suggests he will end up being an important figure for Flick as well, even if the player starts at the clear disadvantage to miss the pre-season and the start of the season and lag behind his teammates in terms of pace of competition in the goal of securing a position in the starting eleven. The good feelings that the footballer has at the moment of his recovery phase is the best news for Hansi Flick.
As a curiosity, this coming season Gavi will have the opportunity to set foot again in the José Zorrilla, the stadium of the misfortune of his injury. Valladolid's confirmed promotion to the first division makes it possible. Everything will depend on the calendar, on which day Valladolid-Barça is set and on which Gavi's return date ends up being.
Thank you so much anon you're the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So they're still insisting flick did meet Gavi already and they talked.
I love how this article is basically a live letter about Gavi and his character they're so real for that 😭😭 he's really amazing and I can't wait for him to come back ☹️

The Evolution of Web 2.0
The Evolution of Web 2.0: Transforming the Internet Experience
The internet has come a long way since its inception, and one of the most significant milestones in its evolution is Web 2.0. This term, first coined in the early 2000s, represents the shift from static web pages to dynamic, user-driven platforms. With the rise of social media, user-generated content, and interactive online services, Web 2.0 has revolutionized the way we connect, communicate, and create.
Tumblr media
What is Web 2.0?
In simple terms, Web 2.0 refers to the transformation of the web into a more interactive and collaborative space. Unlike its predecessor, Web 1.0, which primarily consisted of static websites where users could only consume content, Web 2.0 allows users to actively participate in the creation and sharing of information. This paradigm shift has led to the rise of social networks, blogs, wikis, and other platforms that encourage collaboration and community building.
Key Features of Web 2.0:
User-Generated Content: Platforms like YouTube, Twitter, and Wikipedia have made it easier than ever for users to create and share their own content, whether it's videos, articles, or social media posts.
Social Networking: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn are prime examples of Web 2.0's emphasis on building online communities where people can connect, share experiences, and collaborate.
Interactive Interfaces: Technologies like AJAX and APIs enable more dynamic, responsive web pages that allow real-time updates without refreshing the page. This has greatly enhanced the user experience, particularly on social media platforms.
Rich User Experiences: Web 2.0 applications are designed with the user in mind, making it easy to navigate, interact with, and personalize their online experiences.
The Impact of Web 2.0 on Digital Culture
Web 2.0 has empowered individuals to have a voice in the digital world. Blogs, forums, and social media platforms have democratized content creation, giving anyone with an internet connection the ability to publish their thoughts, ideas, and creations to a global audience.
For businesses, this shift has created new opportunities for engagement with consumers. Brands are now able to interact with customers directly through social media platforms, fostering a sense of community and loyalty.
Moreover, the rise of influencers and content creators on platforms like YouTube and Instagram has changed the landscape of marketing. People trust recommendations from peers and influencers more than traditional advertising, and brands have quickly adapted to this new form of communication.
What’s Next After Web 2.0?
As technology continues to advance, discussions around the next phase of the web—often referred to as Web 3.0—have begun. While Web 2.0 focuses on user interaction and community-driven content, Web 3.0 promises to take things even further by incorporating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and decentralized technologies like blockchain. In this new era, the web could become even more personalized, secure, and user-centric.
Conclusion
Web 2.0 has truly transformed the way we interact with the internet, bringing about an age of collaboration, connection, and creativity. As we look forward to the future, it's exciting to imagine how the web will continue to evolve and shape our digital experiences.

Before diving into the world of online retail, it’s crucial to plan carefully and set a solid foundation. Here are some essential tips to consider before launching your e-commerce business:
1. Conduct Market Research
Understanding the market is fundamental to any successful business. Start by identifying your target audience and analyzing competitors. Research trends, customer preferences, and potential gaps in the market. Tools like Google Trends, social media analytics, and industry reports can provide valuable insights. This research will help you tailor your products or services to meet market demands and differentiate yourself from competitors.
2. Define Your Business Model
E-commerce offers various business models, such as B2C (Business to Consumer), B2B (Business to Business), C2C (Consumer to Consumer), and subscription-based models. Determine which model aligns with your goals and resources. Each model has its own set of challenges and requirements, so choose one that best fits your product or service and target market.
3. Create a Solid Business Plan
A comprehensive business plan serves as a roadmap for your e-commerce venture. Outline your business goals, strategies, target audience, marketing plan, financial projections, and operational plan. This document will not only guide your efforts but also help secure funding if needed. A clear plan can keep you focused and organized as you navigate the complexities of launching and running an e-commerce business.
4. Choose the Right E-Commerce Platform
Selecting the right e-commerce platform is crucial for the success of your online store. Popular platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, and BigCommerce each offer unique features and capabilities. Consider factors such as ease of use, scalability, customization options, payment gateways, and integration with other tools. The platform should align with your business needs and provide a user-friendly experience for both you and your customers.
5. Develop a User-Friendly Website
Your website is the face of your e-commerce business. Ensure it’s designed to be user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for mobile devices. A clean, intuitive layout with easy navigation will enhance the shopping experience and reduce cart abandonment rates. Focus on high-quality images, detailed product descriptions, and a seamless checkout process. Additionally, implement search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to improve your site’s visibility in search engines.
6. Implement Secure Payment Processing
Security is a top priority in e-commerce. Customers need to trust that their payment information is safe. Choose a reputable payment gateway and ensure your website uses SSL certificates to encrypt data. Additionally, offer multiple payment options, including credit/debit cards, digital wallets, and other payment methods that are popular with your target audience.
7. Plan Your Logistics and Supply Chain
Efficient logistics and supply chain management are vital for e-commerce success. Develop a strategy for inventory management, warehousing, and shipping. Decide whether you’ll handle fulfillment in-house or partner with third-party logistics providers. Consider shipping options, delivery times, and costs. A smooth and reliable fulfillment process can significantly impact customer satisfaction and repeat business.
8. Craft a Marketing Strategy
Effective marketing is essential to drive traffic and sales to your e-commerce store. Develop a multi-channel marketing strategy that includes social media, email marketing, content marketing, and paid advertising. Create engaging content, run promotions, and leverage social media platforms to build brand awareness and attract customers. Monitor and analyze the performance of your marketing efforts to refine your strategies over time.
9. Focus on Customer Service
Exceptional customer service can set your e-commerce business apart from competitors. Provide multiple channels for customer support, such as live chat, email, and phone. Ensure timely responses to inquiries and resolve issues promptly. Building strong customer relationships and encouraging feedback can enhance customer loyalty and drive positive reviews.
10. Monitor and Adapt
The e-commerce landscape is constantly evolving. Regularly review your business performance, track key metrics, and gather customer feedback. Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements. Be prepared to adapt your strategies and operations based on insights and changes in the market.

Artist Management 101: A Beginner's Guide
Tumblr media
Artist management is one of the most critical roles in the entertainment industry. Whether it's music, visual arts, or performance, the artist-manager relationship is pivotal in ensuring an artist's success. If you're new to the world of artist management, this beginner's guide will walk you through the essentials.
What is Artist Management?
Artist management involves overseeing the business and career aspects of an artist. Managers are intermediaries between artists and various industry stakeholders, including record labels, booking agents, and promoters. Their primary goal is to help artists navigate the complex world of contracts, promotions, performances, and other business matters so that they can focus on their craft.
The Role of an Artist Manager
An artist manager wears many hats. They take on roles such as:
Business Advisor: Managers help artists make critical decisions regarding career direction, business deals, and contracts.
Negotiator: From securing record deals to negotiating tour contracts, managers ensure their artist gets the best possible terms.
Strategic Planner: They help map out the long-term vision of an artist’s career, whether it's securing brand partnerships, album releases, or expanding into new markets.
Public Relations Specialist: Managers often work closely with publicists to shape the artist’s public image and manage their presence across media platforms.
Financial Overseer: While managers may not be accountants, they often monitor an artist’s earnings, help manage budgets, and ensure financial health.
The Importance of Trust
The relationship between an artist and their manager is built on trust. Managers need to believe in the artist’s talent and vision, while the artist must trust the manager to make the best decisions for their career. It’s not just a business relationship but a personal one as well. A manager is often the person an artist turns to for advice, support, and guidance.
Key Skills for Artist Managers
If you're considering stepping into the world of artist management, certain skills are crucial for success:
Networking: The entertainment industry is all about relationships. The more contacts you have, the more opportunities you can create for your artist.
Negotiation: Managers must be savvy negotiators to secure the best deals for their artists, whether it's for a recording contract, a tour, or a sponsorship deal.
Organisation: Artist managers juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities. Strong organisational skills are essential to stay on top of meetings, deadlines, and schedules.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding the intricacies of the entertainment industry, including trends, legalities, and new opportunities, is crucial for managing an artist effectively.

Building Your Artist’s Brand
One of the most important aspects of artist management is building and maintaining an artist's brand. This includes:
Developing a unique identity: An artist’s image should reflect their personality and style, which the manager helps craft and project to the world.
Social media presence: In today’s digital age, social media is essential. Managers must oversee and optimize social media accounts to grow an artist's fanbase.
Networking and partnerships: Strategic collaborations and partnerships can elevate an artist's profile and introduce them to new audiences.
Getting Started as a Manager
Starting a career in artist management can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. To begin, you can either manage emerging talent or work your way up at a management firm. Building a portfolio of successful artist partnerships will open doors for more established artists down the line.
You may also need to familiarize yourself with the legal aspects of management, such as contract law, royalties, and licensing. Partnering with an entertainment lawyer or taking courses in music business management can help navigate the legal complexities.
Conclusion
Artist management is both an art and a science. It requires a passion for the craft, a deep understanding of the industry, and a commitment to helping artists achieve their dreams. If you're ready to dive into this exciting field, remember that it’s not just about managing the business; it’s about fostering an artist’s creative journey and guiding them toward long-term success. With the right skills, connections, and attitude, you can play an instrumental role in shaping the next big name in entertainment.

In the dynamic world of music, the role of a record label is often pivotal to an artist's success. From nurturing raw talent to managing global tours, record labels offer a range of services that can make or break a musical career. But what exactly do they do, and why are they so important?
Talent Scouting and Development
One of the primary functions of a record label is to scout for new talent. This involves searching for artists who have the potential to succeed in the competitive music industry. Once an artist is signed, the label often invests in their development. This can include vocal training, songwriting assistance, and even stage presence coaching.
Labels have experienced A&R (Artists and Repertoire) teams whose job is to identify promising talent and help them grow. These teams play a crucial role in shaping the artist's musical direction and ensuring they are ready for the big stage.
Production and Distribution
Once the music is produced, the label takes charge of distributing it. This can include physical distribution, like CDs and vinyl records, as well as digital distribution on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Effective distribution ensures that the artist's music reaches a wide audience, maximizing their exposure and potential earnings.
Marketing and Promotion
Marketing and promotion are critical components of an artist's success, and record labels have the resources and expertise to execute effective campaigns. From social media marketing to radio airplay and public relations, the label's marketing team works tirelessly to keep the artist in the public eye.
Promotional activities can include:
Creating music videos
Organizing interviews and press releases
Running social media campaigns
Securing TV and radio appearances
Tour Management
Live performances are a significant revenue stream for artists, and record labels often play a crucial role in organizing tours. This includes booking venues, managing logistics, and handling promotions. A well-organized tour can significantly boost an artist's career, providing them with exposure to new audiences and opportunities to connect with fans.
Financial Support
Producing music and maintaining a successful career requires substantial financial investment. Record labels provide the necessary funding for various aspects of an artist's career, including recording, marketing, and touring. This financial backing allows artists to focus on their craft without the constant worry of financial constraints.
In return for this investment, labels typically take a percentage of the artist's earnings, which is outlined in the contract. This symbiotic relationship can be highly beneficial, provided both parties have a clear understanding of the terms.
Conclusion
In summary, the role of a record label in an artist's career is multifaceted and indispensable. From talent scouting and development to production, distribution, marketing, and financial support, record labels offer a comprehensive suite of services that help artists reach their full potential. While the music industry continues to evolve, the foundational role of record labels remains as crucial as ever.

Tumblr media
I am absolutely not leaving Tumblr (I’ll rot here, it’ll rot here with me). I am interested in diversifying my social media presence, given:
Elon Musk bought Twitter and is destroying it quickly.
Tumblr is currently owned by Automattic and I don’t know their 10+ year plan
At least a good handful of folks enjoy my social media rambles (hi!)
insurance that if Musk or someone like him buys Tumblr (there is no evidence of this happening, I am preparing for an unforeseeable future), I’ll have spent the years between Right Now and Then in building up another channel.
I’ve been noodling slowly a pinterest account (link) that I’ve had for ages and forgot about until #1 on the above list.
To satisfy #3 on the above list, a key learning I’m finding: do not pin items from the Tumblr dash.
They link to the dash, not the post itself, in testing. A more useful path seems to be:
Going to a Tumblr’s archive
Selecting “Post type: Photo”
Clicking through the desired images to pin, opening them in a new window each
On each individual page, pinning.
In testing, this has preserved the link.
Depending on one’s strategy, you could reblog lots and lots, then go to your OWN archive, and pin from there. This is more work than benefit as I currently see things.
The path of discovery (someone finds pin on my board -> clicks pin -> they have a Tumblr account -> that they are logged into -> and thus follow my Tumblr account -> for future benefit to me) is long, convoluted, and likely extremely rarely successful.
A more reasonable path of discovery: I find a Tumblr that has a neat collection of stuff -> I browse their archive for 5-10 minutes and open a series of image posts -> I pin them to my Pinterest boards -> a third party stumbles across my Pinterest account -> they follow my Pinterest -> there is a future benefit to me.
It would be useful in extreme casual pinning to have an accurate Tumblr dashboard -> Pinterest board link, but ultimately any benefit is washed out with the above process of archive browsing allowing a significantly targeted approach. It’s a guesstimate but more pins are created in a shorter amount of time.
Yay efficiency!
There are automation services (such as IFTTT) that could handle the above fairly easily, but I do not like that many leaks in systems. The security risk of being hacked is increased in response to a tiny, marginal benefit.
None of the above processes takes into consideration “the best time” to pin in order to increase discovery -- that is, “make sure you are pinning between 9 AM to 2 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays!” (this is a fictional example, not advice on times to pin/blog/etc.)
I hold very minimal weight to "best time to...” social media  advice. More effective:
Buy ad space on cheap networks.
Partner with people who have a following -- do not focus purely on people with a large following; diversify between tiny, small, medium, and large followings -- that legitimately like your product, or, introduce your product, send them a sample, and if they genuinely like it, discuss doing business.
And create frequently. Large stuff, medium stuff, quick/simple stuff.
The experience of others is bound to vary as none of this makes inherent sense, but trying to trace “XYZ are the best times to promote!” are far too costly in light of user behavior, opaque social algorithms, and both the monetary and opportunity cost spent in researching said “best times” to promote -- which are going to constantly shift.
(pours two glasses of root beer)
and thus concludes another session of “they call me atty, your exceptionally odd former marketing/advertising forum host.”
Since we’re chatting about pinterest, follow good ol’ evil Netherworld Post via this link.
The general subject matter will be the same as most of my rambles: monsters, queer monsters, and queer monsters kissing queer monsters.

How will Change Digital Marketing In The Future?
Digital marketing is on the brink of significant transformations, driven by rapid technological advancements and evolving consumer behaviors. Here’s a comprehensive look at how digital marketing is expected to change in the future:
1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning
AI and machine learning will revolutionize digital marketing by providing deeper insights into consumer behavior and preferences. These technologies will enable:
Predictive Analytics: AI can analyze past consumer behavior to predict future actions, allowing marketers to tailor their strategies more effectively.
Personalization: AI will facilitate highly personalized content, offers, and recommendations, enhancing user experience and engagement.
Automation: Chatbots and virtual assistants will become more sophisticated, providing instant customer support and handling routine tasks efficiently.
2. Increased Focus on Privacy and Data Security
As data breaches and privacy concerns rise, stricter regulations such as GDPR and CCPA will influence how companies collect, store, and use consumer data. Key changes will include:
Transparency: Businesses will need to be transparent about their data practices and obtain explicit consent from users.
Enhanced Security: Companies will invest more in cybersecurity measures to protect consumer data and maintain trust.
Ethical Data Use: Ethical considerations in data handling will become a priority, with brands demonstrating responsibility in their data practices.
3. Voice Search Optimization
The proliferation of smart speakers and voice-activated devices is making voice search a significant part of digital interactions. Future digital marketing strategies will need to:
Optimize for Voice Search: Content will be optimized for voice queries, which are often longer and more conversational.
Natural Language Processing (NLP): Marketers will use NLP to understand and cater to the nuances of spoken language.
Voice-Activated Commerce: Voice search will facilitate seamless shopping experiences, with consumers making purchases through voice commands.
4. Video Content Growth
Video content is expected to continue its dominance in digital marketing. The future will see:
Short-Form Videos: Platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels will drive the popularity of short, engaging video content.

Why Is Same Sex Marriage Important?
Recently, there has been a rhetoric that gay marriage isn't important because it caters to appearing normal. I had assumed that this was from homophobia, but it turns out that young and impressionable gays were listening to someone named James Somerton. I'm going to tell y'all why this cause should matter to you.
The first thing I'll go over are the legal benefits of marriage. In married life, adoption or any other child rearing is large. You can also choose whether to file taxes jointly or individually depending on whichever is more beneficial to you. Within employment, you have anti-discrimination laws and health care or family leave. If you or your spouse choose to divorce, you can split assets or parental rights of your child. The government also gives you the opportunity to sponsor your spouse for immigration or privileges for social security. In death, theres control over assets, inheritance rights, pension, and even bereavement leave. There are many, many more than the ones I listed and I wasn't even going in depth.
Even if there wasn't legal benefits, there is still cultural benefits with marriage. The number one reason why people get married is as a symbol or celebration of their love. Historically, queer people have not been able to exist in public and a celebration is a big step. Marriage also has religious significance to many people, even if religion isn't common in the queer community, it still exists. One example of cultural benefits to marriage having permission from your spouse to transition. (citation)
Denying rights to people has connotations of not being considered human. The legalization of marriage equality in 2015 was the biggest turning point in how queers were seen in the mainstream (citation). It was less than a decade ago, and only three years ago was gender and sexuality were added to anti-discrimination laws. Since then, the queer community has been seen as a valid group to market to which results in media representation and public support.
As a community we have made leaps in progress, but it's up to us as individuals to band together and help each other out.

Mergers & Acquisitions in Thailand
Thailand's M&A landscape has evolved significantly in recent years, driven by economic growth, government policies, and the increasing attractiveness of the Thai market to foreign investors. While the country has a robust legal and regulatory framework for M&A, unique challenges and opportunities exist.
The Thai M&A Landscape
Thailand offers a compelling investment climate with a large domestic market, strategic geographic location, and a growing middle class. Key sectors attracting M&A activity include:
Consumer Goods: Strong domestic consumption and a rising middle class have fueled interest in the food and beverage, retail, and consumer electronics sectors.
Energy: Thailand's focus on renewable energy and energy security has driven M&A in the oil and gas, power generation, and alternative energy sectors.
Infrastructure: Government initiatives to improve infrastructure have created opportunities in transportation, logistics, and utilities.
Technology: The growing digital economy has led to increased M&A activity in e-commerce, fintech, and digital media.
Common Deal Structures
While mergers were introduced in Thailand in 2023, acquisitions remain the predominant deal structure. Common acquisition methods include:
Share Acquisitions: Purchasing shares from existing shareholders.
Asset Acquisitions: Acquiring specific assets of a target company.
Joint Ventures: Creating a new entity with shared ownership and control.
Regulatory Framework
Thailand's legal and regulatory environment for M&A is relatively mature, with key laws governing the process, including:
Thai Civil and Commercial Code: Provides the legal framework for corporate transactions.
Securities and Exchange Act: Regulates public companies and takeover bids.
Foreign Business Act: Governs foreign investment and ownership restrictions.
Competition Act: Addresses antitrust concerns.
While the legal framework is generally supportive of M&A, navigating the complexities of Thai law requires careful consideration and expert advice.
Challenges and Opportunities
Despite its attractiveness, the Thai M&A landscape presents unique challenges:
Corporate Governance: While improving, corporate governance standards in Thailand can vary, impacting deal execution and post-merger integration.
Due Diligence: Conducting thorough due diligence is essential due to potential complexities in business structures, ownership, and financial reporting.
Regulatory Approvals: Obtaining necessary approvals from government agencies can be time-consuming and complex.
Talent Acquisition and Retention: Post-merger integration often requires addressing talent management challenges, including cultural differences and skill gaps.
On the other hand, Thailand offers significant opportunities for M&A:
Growth Potential: The expanding middle class and government initiatives create a favorable environment for business growth.
ASEAN Hub: Thailand's strategic location makes it a gateway to the ASEAN market.
Government Support: Government policies encouraging foreign investment can facilitate M&A deals.
Emerging Trends
Several trends are shaping the future of M&A in Thailand:
Digital Transformation: Increasing focus on digital technologies and e-commerce is driving M&A activity.
Sustainability: Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors are gaining importance in dealmaking.
Cross-Border Deals: Thailand's strategic location is attracting more cross-border investments.
Conclusion
Thailand's M&A landscape is dynamic and offers both challenges and opportunities. Successful dealmaking requires a deep understanding of the local market, regulatory environment, and cultural nuances. By carefully navigating these complexities, businesses can capitalize on the growth potential of the Thai market.
