RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — More than half a million people in Gaza — a quarter of the population — are starving, according to a report Thursday by the U.N. and other agencies that highlights the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s bombardment and siege on the territory in response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack. The extent of the population’s hunger eclipsed even the near-famines in Afghanistan and Yemen of recent years, according to figures in the report. The report warned that the risk of famine is “increasing each day,” blaming the hunger on insufficient aid entering Gaza. “It doesn’t get any worse,’’ said Arif Husain, chief economist for the U.N.’s World Food Program. “I have never seen something at the scale that is happening in Gaza. And at this speed.” ... At the start of the war, Israel stopped all deliveries of food, water, medicine and fuel into the territory. After U.S. pressure, it allowed a trickle of aid in through Egypt. But U.N. agencies say only 10% of Gaza’s food needs has been entering for weeks. (Dec. 21, 2023 | Source)

A must-watch video folks!!
For people living in New Jersey or nearby, who are able to attend any organized event (such as the one this gentleman spoke of -I do not have links as of yet) to protest this illegal zionist 'event,' please do. I highly doubt the mayor and those in government will stop this synagogue from hosting this. This violates international and US laws. The idea of 'auctioning off' stolen land by people of a settler-colonial force is just despicable.
Update! (March 3, 2024) I removed the post by @/StopZionistHate because it was brought to my attention that they are a racist account (the post below has screenshots from a conversation between them and an independent journalist). Thank you to the person who sent this to me for further clarification.

(Note: See updated post) The new DRAFT U.N. Resolution, set to be voted on today, calls for:
• ... “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses” in the fighting throughout Gaza and the opening of corridors inside the enclave “for a sufficient number of days to enable full, rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access.” • U.N. Secretary General António Guterres to appoint a senior coordinator “with responsibility for facilitating, coordinating, monitoring, and verifying in Gaza, as appropriate, the humanitarian nature” of all assistance, and demands that “the parties to the conflict cooperate with the coordinator to fulfill their mandate without delay or obstruction.” • ... “immediate and unconditional” release of the hostages. It also demands that “all parties to the conflict comply with their obligations under international law ... including with regard to the conduct of hostilities and the protection of civilians and civilian objects.” • It reiterates the council’s “unwavering commitment” to a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians and “stresses the importance of unifying the Gaza Strip with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.” (12/22/23 | Source: WaPo)
Although the resolution's language was toned down, this is a sign of progress. While such measures are long overdue and should have been honored from the start, we must do everything possible to meet the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza and relieve unfathomable suffering.
DON'T STOP POSTING. KEEP UP THE PUBLIC PRESSURE. DEFEND HUMAN RIGHTS.
Stay tuned for today's vote.

Finally and we must continue demanding a permanent ceasefire, an immediate lift on the siege and a complete liberation for Palestine.
The United Nations Security Council on Monday passed a resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza for the month of Ramadan, breaking a five-month impasse during which the U.S. vetoed several calls for ending the war, even as the humanitarian toll climbed higher.
"The resolution passed with 14 votes in favor. The U.S. abstained, allowing the resolution to pass. The chamber broke into applause after the vote." from The Slow Factory, 25/Mar/2024: alt text included in image

Can't help but think about how once during an accommodations meeting with my school, they ended it early because we wanted to record. The issue was that previously only one person did not want to be recorded. However, they brought in over eight people who were not on the original list to sit in on this meeting. And when my mother went to press record, they ended the meeting early and people scattered. They grabbed their things and ran. We never even got past introductions. So I was there crying, while my mom sat there without anything to do, all while the principal and assistant principal never offered to give us a minute and stood there staring at me. Then the principal had the audacity to ask me "So, what do you think should have gone differently?" I think I'll forever be glad I decided to say "We should have been told there was a change to the attendance before we came" instead of some self criticizing bullshit.
You know why? Because the next meeting, the assistant principal who had stood there and watched me cry tried to say we were the best of pals, and that I was always down there in the office with her. They break the law and they don't care, and the systems meant to keep them in check sit by and watch. All the costs for lawyers, advocates, and independent services are all on the family of the disabled person. My school didn't even have an elevator for people in wheelchairs to use. They had to go outside in the cold, through a fire exit, to get to their classes downstairs.
So no, you're not my friends if you do that to people. You're not my friends if you stand by and watch me cry while proding me and breaking the law. You can take your kumbaya shit and shove it. I don't know you.

Turning away girls from education, yes this is absolutely "protecting" girls from "oppression"... Which was one of the arguments used to stop girls from wearing the abaya. Which by the way isn't a "Muslim dress" in a religious sense. It's more a cultural.
Honestly this makes me so mad, because as a feminist I firmly believe it's every woman and girls right to dress however makes them feel most comfortable. Even worse denying girls the right to education.

middleeasteye Nisreen Abbas has been forced to leave her home, a school, and a hospital over the course of the war. Now, in a refugee camp, she recounts how she was stripped naked and barefoot by Israeli soldiers and had all her belongings taken by them when she passed through one of their checkpoints.

Israel is now bombing Rafah and executing ground operations there. Let that sink in. The Gazan people have already been displaced under threat of violence, and consequently they moved to the South where it was alleged to be "more safe". And now not even the literal Southern border of Gaza is safe anymore.
