Technology's Effect on Contemporary Lifestyle: A Revolution in Human Existence
The way we communicate, work, and live in the twenty-first century has completely changed as a result of the pervasiveness of technology.
With the rise of wearable technology, virtual reality, smart homes, and smartphones, technology has ingrained itself into our everyday lives.
The pervasiveness of technology has profoundly transformed our habits, behaviors, and even mentalities in the ways we learn, work, communicate, and amuse ourselves.
But the integration of technology into our daily lives has also had both beneficial and detrimental effects, affecting our social dynamics, interpersonal relationships, and general well-being.
Revolutionized Communication
One of the biggest influences on the modern lifestyle has been the development of communication technologies.
Letters and telegrams were the only means of long-distance communication in the past; they could take days or even weeks to get to their destination.
But with the introduction of smartphones, social media, and instant messaging apps, communication is now immediate and cross-border.
People can now communicate in real-time with anyone, anywhere in the globe, overcoming geographical limitations.
Unquestionably, technology has increased connectedness and promoted interpersonal connections and global interaction,
but it has also given rise to worries about cyberbullying privacy, and an addiction to continuous communication.
Tasks and Efficiency
The incorporation of technology has resulted in a significant transformation of the workplace environment. Once uncommon, remote employment is now a common choice across many industries.
With the use of project management software, cloud computing, and video conferencing, employees may now collaborate remotely from any location with an internet connection.
This has improved workplace inclusion, flexibility, and work-life balance. But it has also made it more difficult to distinguish between work and personal life, which has resulted in burnout,
a decline in traditional work hours, and difficulties juggling a healthy work-life balance.
Well-being and Health
The healthcare industry has undergone a technological revolution, resulting in improvements in information accessibility,
medical diagnosis, and treatment. People may now proactively monitor their health and seek medical advice from a distance thanks to wearable health devices, fitness apps, and telemedicine.
However, an increase in health problems like obesity, mental health disorders, and eye strain has been linked to sedentary lifestyles, frequent screen use, and digital overload.
The constant availability of information has also resulted in false information and self-diagnosis, which has an impact on people's capacity to make decisions about their health.
Instruction and Acquiring Knowledge
Technology has completely changed the educational scene by giving people access to a wealth of knowledge and resources.
The advent of e-books, educational apps, and online courses has increased the interactivity, accessibility, and customization of learning. But since not everyone has equal access to these resources, the digital divide continues to be a serious worry.
Question marks have also been raised over the effects of an over-reliance on technology in education on social skills, critical thinking, and the capacity to concentrate for lengthy periods without interruption.
Relationships and Social Dynamics
Social media platforms have completely changed the way we communicate, interact, and develop connections.
In addition to promoting connectedness, these platforms have an impact on relationships with others, mental health, and self-worth.
People are curating their lives for social media in an attempt to gain likes, followers, and virtual affirmation.
This behavior frequently results in emotions of comparison and inadequacy.
Furthermore, the rise in popularity of online interactions has changed in-person communication, which affects the growth of sincere relationships and empathy.
Environmental Consequences
Technology's widespread use has affected the environment in both beneficial and harmful ways.
On the one hand, advancements in green technology have brought about sustainable habits, effective transportation, and renewable energy sources.
But the quick speed of technical development has also led to environmental damage, energy consumption, and electrical waste.
Reducing data center carbon emissions and disposing of outdated equipment are urgent issues that call for long-term fixes.
In summary:
Unquestionably, technology has revolutionized how we interact, communicate, work, and learn in the current world.
Although its integration has greatly increased connectedness, efficiency, and convenience, it has also brought up issues and obstacles that need careful thought.
For technology and our way of life to coexist peacefully and sustainably, we must find a balance between harnessing its positive aspects and reducing its negative ones.
A future where technology enhances our lives without overshadowing the essence of humanity can be achieved by embracing technology with mindfulness, ethical considerations, and an emphasis on human well-being.

Hellen, how do you know how to do so many things? I know how to do a few things but I look at your stuff and every time I'm like "damn. I wish I could do that"
oh, I just do them.
It's after 1:30 am, so you get the existential answer. The fun thing about personhood is you get to just be whatever. You can't necessarily do whatever--money and laws are things, unfortunately, and you only get so much control over the opportunities available to you. But you can sort of just throw yourself down on the anvil of life and hammer yourself into whatever shape you want. Ideally the process of it drives out some flaws as you go, but sometimes also you take an impurity and make yourself stronger with it.
I am, still, a person who is terrified of failure; of incorrectness; of being wrong. And there is nothing to do with fear except shatter it with blunt force, and so I line myself up against failure again and again and again. I will try. I must; or the fear of failure wins, and I must keep trying after I fail or I have failed utterly. I fear failure, and therefore I take it as a challenge. I must do what I think I cannot. And you know what? More often than not, I can.
I have a weird and wandering skillset because I make myself try things, knowing full well that I will remember for decades every time someone saw me be less than instantly successful, because the only way I know to get better is to batter down the dross of my own fear. That's the deal. I'm not doing anything that nobody has done before. I know it's all possible. I just have to be the sort of person that does it. And it gets easier every time. If the question is can it be done and the answer is yes, then the next question is can I be the one to do it, and the answer is I want to be.
Every time I fail my way over and over to eventual success, trying again the next time is less scary; every time I have a broader base of skills to carry to the next challenge. I'm not unusually talented, just stubborn as hell, and I've lived long enough on I have to do what scares me that honestly, not that much scares me anymore.
If you keep failing long enough, it turns out that you just get really good at problem solving, and figuring out unconventional ways to reach your goals. It's not about a special secret concoction of skills, it's about persistence, and hammering away until you've taken a mess and made it into something you think is worth keeping. It's not easy, but it is simple.
Also I have incredibly strong unmedicated ADHD. But I sort of assume that's glaringly obvious.

Do you think you speak too fast/ too slow?
Here is what I learned from a speech coach.
warm up:
start this exercise by taking a deep breath and saying “aaaaah” - try to extend this to 30 seconds. Now if it doesn’t go till 30, that’s fine. Aim to work your way to that. If you can work it up to 30, go for 45/60 seconds. Do this 5 times.
next.
Download an app called Metronome beats. It’s basically what singers/ musicians use for beats.
Settings:
keep beats/bar as 1,
clicks/beats as 1
start at 90. It will start with a click sound and continue “beeping.”
Match your words to the beep. One beep = one word. Now slowly, increase the beat by 5 till you reach 110. Increase it at your own pace but try to spend at least 20 seconds on each number (90 for 20 seconds; 95 for 20; 100 for 20….) That’s when you stop.
either start by reading something out loud and matching the beat, or select a topic and speak freely.
do this every single day. This will help with your breath, if you’re speaking on a topic it will help you think better and improve over time. The best way to further complement this exercise is to improve your vocabulary. Try to learn 1-3 new words a day and incorporate it in your vocabulary.
This is a great tool to use when learning new languages too. You can practice your speaking skills and see how fast you can remember/ read words.

Emergency Commissions
One of my checks was a couple of days late last week, and the more lucrative of my 2 proper jobs has given me only one day of work this week (seems to be system issue?? I'm waiting for a reply from my higher up, there seems to be a queue of sorts) I have no idea when I'm going to get my check this week, either. Although it's supposed to come in on Tuesdays, I have heard from coworkers it is likely to be delayed again. On top of all of this, I have had wifi issues for a week, and I work from home.
I was already going to have to do some commissions to make rent this month before the reduced work hours and wifi issues. I have to pay rent on Saturday, and I do not get a grace period. I cannot emphasize how screwed me, and both of my disabled roommates are if my check doesn't come in on time, which is apparently not likely to happen.
I am setting this goal for $600 which is how much I am going to need for rent if my check does not go through in time. I will update this post accordingly, and turn off rbs if I get my check before rent is due, but tbh if i thought that was happening I wouldn't be making this post.
Anyone who help with this can contact me at my art blog @theartistrans for art like you see above. There may be a bit of a wait because I have 2 jobs and this, but I will mail you the piece if you pay the shipping also.
Dm me for proof or more details. More details are also in my tags.
