I have a request! can you write about mc when they die but end up becoming a demon? (If you want ofc!)
hello! fun concept!!
this has probably already been done by others but mc is 100% becoming a demon after dying (if they’ll even let you die) unless having the blood of lilith comes into play somehow
enjoy <3
Mc who becomes a demon after dying
Lucifer
you dying stressed him out infinitely more, but he knows you'll be back
the realistic part of him know you'll end up a demon but that wouldn't stop him from wishing you'd become an angel
because you, of all people, deserved to be one most because of all you did for him and his brothers
upon your return, you find him much more protective yet laid back at the same time
Mammon
knowing him, he's probably the most torn up that you're gone now
he waited on pins and needles, and fully expected you to become an angel
however, when you turned up back at the hol as a demon
he was overjoyed to have you back <3
Levi
part of him was convinced even if you did come back as a demon, which he was sure you wouldn't
would you even want to come back to him?
after all, you didn't need the brothers, or him anymore
please, reassure him a little and let him know how much he matters to you
Satan
once he learns that you're a demon, it's a little bittersweet
if you hadn't become entangled with their affairs, maybe you'd been an angel
but, he wouldn't lie in saying that part of him was truly happy
now he never has to worry about the mortality of humans again!
Asmo
he's super excited to show you all sorts of his favorite tricks, if you have wings that is
if not, he's more than happy to help you accessorize your tail
he might never admit it, but he's very relieved you're back
he doesn't think he could imagine his life without you anymore
Beel
he's really happy you're back
he felt so gulity after he lost you even though it wasn't his fault
but, now that you're back, he can introduce you to so many foods that were demon only before
now, he can enjoy his favorite foods with one of his new favorite demons :)
Belphie
after what happened last time you died, he was really unsure about what to think of everything
he asks for forgiveness one more times despite having nothing to do with this second death
he's happy things won't be changing anytime soon now
now, as long as you don't grow sick of him, you can spend eternity together

I feel like I blocked 2020 out of my head for multiple reasons. One obviously being the pandemic but also that I got sick with a never diagnosed, mysterious illness for 6 months and I spent 6 months having to work remotely while feeling like my body was shutting down in some way.
I remember the symptoms randomly, miraculously clearing and disappearing entirely in October of 2020, right before AC Valhalla dropped.
The symptoms, I now realize, were eerily similar to what I am experiencing now but now it is far more generalized.
I had a weak neck but just felt sore all the time, so I ended up sitting in recliners a lot. I had what felt like fatigueable weakness in my chest and my arms, especially my left. I had stomach acid coming up when I was sleeping and this feeling like food was not moving right through my esophagus, so I didn't want to eat and when I did, it was very little. I had weakness in my diaphragm that would rear its ugly head, especially when bending over. Looking back the symptoms were actually super minor, but we're incredibly alarming because I just felt so weak and tired all the time.
And then it just went away. I was traumatized from it but said it was maybe just anxiety.
And then 2024 happened. Tattoo appointment, which caused an immune response, and then a wisdom tooth infection 7 days later because my immune system was probably overwhelmed fighting two things at once. Then antibiotics for 7 days before a major surgery that removed four wisdom teeth and drained an abscess. Followed by an allergic reaction to two different new antibiotics. I was tired ALL THE TIME for two weeks and thought it was just the surgery. Then one day I woke up, I had severe weakness in my neck, legs, and blurred vision in my eyes. Every blood panel for the next month convinced doctors nothing was wrong, it was just anxiety (LOL) .... I thought it was maybe an infection that spread from the original or I maybe was having some kind of reaction to something, but tests showed nothing.
Except those symptoms stuck around and fluctuated in severity by the hour and by the day. Eventually the weakness spread to my arms, my chest and my diaphragm (again.....) and now the neck weakness I felt in 2020 felt like complete neck instability. And unfortunately, my throat got involved on top of my esophagus so swallowing is impacted as is my ability to speak. Then my PCP flagged that it may be neurological and only a few things can cause these symptoms...one in particular, the triggers I've had and the symptoms are lining up almost perfectly. Unfortunately.
At first I didn't connect the two periods of illness but I remember in 2020, even when symptoms resolved I couldn't project my voice for a solid 6 months. I couldn't sing in the car, my voice would tire out if I talked for too long. Eventually that faded into the apparent remission of late 2020-2024. And now, thanks to back to back to back immune responses and multiple exacerbating circumstances (medications, and believe it or not, menstrual periods), everything came roaring back magnified and the symptoms are my entire body pretty much.
I got three good years of symptom remission. But I wish they diagnosed whatever this is back in 2020 so 2024 could have been prevented. And yes, stress can cause the illness I am pretty sure this is and I was severely stressed in 2020.
There is really only one autoimmune disease this probably is going to end up being and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But at least it's an answer and I can start actually treating what has CLEARLY been dormant all this time.
Just sucks that I've spent 9 months out of the last four years traumatized, unsure what is wrong but knowing something us wrong and unable to do a thing about it. Because until they diagnose it, I'm basically beholden to however my body is feeling. And for the last 3 months or so, a good day means I can eat just enough to hold my weight loss to a pound a week, and I can hold my neck up when sitting up or walking around without coughing, and I can watch TV and look at screens without my vision blurring and my eyelids drooping.
This is a personal vent because I actually can't talk long enough to talk to a therapist at the moment or really anyone, so I have to write. And this is the safest place for me to write atm..
I just want to play video games and eat food without choking concerns and feel like a human again. Maybe go for walks idk
I am not naming what this may be yet because it may not be that. Maybe this IS just my immune system freaking out and it will just clear or just needs some immunosuppresants to get controlled. But hey, even if this IS what it sounds like, it's not fatal. It's just brutal, lifelong with some chance of remission and decent chance of minimal symptoms, and it means I likely have to live a very simple, slow moving and exercise minimized life. Which is NOT who I have ever been at all. But it may have to be.

I can't even get on the ship wifi so I'm assuming this will go up very late. I am sorry about that! But I am having the best time. This trip has been so beautiful. I have been brought to tears many times. Including today. Today was a good day.
I slept pretty well last night. Getting up was hard but I was feeling pretty good. Today we visit Skagway and the ship has already docked. So there was no issue leaving. And by the time we were awake and dressed and heading to breakfast it wasnt super busy.
Breakfast was fine. I realized my tank top was a little more cropped when I realized and so after we ate I requested we go back to the room first so I could put on tights under my pants. This was the best move. I would be very cozy all day.
We headed out into town. We took the shuttle that this town has. But it only goes to the end of the on dock. Our driver was very sweet and made me laugh. I was really excited to see everything. This town is a gold mining town and there was lots of history to learn.
I was slightly disappointed that a few of the building that were historic were under construction. But that's alright. I enjoyed the ones available to us.
And there were great souvenirs to find. We have gotten pieces for everyone we wanted to. And a few things for us. I decided that I didn't need a jade piece. I prefer the abolone. But I ended up getting super anxious about the decision and that was hard. I had to take a minute because I was very stressed for literally no reason. It's that fear of missing out mixed with fear of regrets. James was my stability. And made me feel a lot better.
I really loved the historic stuff we read about. They had this amazing snow plow train that was insane looking. I would forget the mountains are there every once in a while and look up and literally gasp. It was so pretty.
In one of the stores we went on they had some really pretty gold charms but I didn't want to buy something so expensive. I enjoyed my chats with the man at the counter. And at another store I got some questions answered about what green stone is. Something we had seen in another museum. It isn't jade or malachite, it's just called green stone, it comes from the southwest, and it's spiritual. And those lovely ladies gave me some direction for my research.
In one of the store some nice girls suggested if we didn't have a planned excursion we should visit their sister store and rent electric bikes. I knew this would be a great idea. I knew we would y be able to experience the city in a better way.
James was a little unsure because of the cost. But the cheapest excursions start at $50 per person, and James loves bikes and this would be exciting and not hard because it's electric. So after a little more walking I told James that's what I wanted to do.
And it was perfect. I'm so glad we did it. We rented them for an hour, and the nice man gave us an extra 15 minutes. And it allowed us to go out to the gold miners cemetery which was super powerful. And then we took the short hike to an incredible waterfall. Which was also powerful in a different way. I love waterfalls.
I had to convince James to not climb into a cave. And then we went to watch the gold mine train for a minute. And then we took the bikes to the look out point the man we rented the bikes from suggested.
This was a little scary for me. I do not like going fast and these bikes went up to 25 mph a few times. But it got us up there fast. And it was worth the view. I got a little teary. It was beautiful and I was having so much fun. This is really the trip of a lifetime.
We had to take the bikes back soon after that. Those extra 15 minutes gave us more then enough time to bring them back on time. I did miss the street turn and I couldn't hear James over the wind. But we slowed down and we turned around and then dropped them off. I felt a little gitty I was in such a good mood.
We made another little loop around. I got the Tshirt I wanted. And then we went to a trail. But I only made it a little up the hill before I had to turn around. I felt really bad to cut it short but I was not strong enough. James said it was okay! I still felt bad but I knew it was going to wreck me to try to go up there.
Instead we took the pond path. I texted my brother. Service has been super spotty in this city but that is okay. I enjoyed seeing plants I wasn't familiar with. And just feeling the wind on my face.
I was getting tired though. My face was cold and my feet hurt. I was happy but I was ready to head back.
We would go and get the shuttle. And got back to the ship around 2. We took the elevator up to get lunch. I ate more of the same. It probably sounds boring but I am having the best time eating my favorite things for every meal. I had a salad and a grilled cheese and fries. We got a few cakes to try and share. And it was good to sit and watch the world. To absorb how stupid beautiful everything is. The world is so beautiful.
I started getting super tired. And so me and James went back to the room and I laid down for almost two hours. It was a very deep sleep. James tried to wake me up at one point and I was like. No. So they went and did our customs form down at the guest services desk. And when they came back I was getting up again.
We would head down to the card room and played war. Did the trivia. The card game from yesterday wasn't there but maybe next time it will be and we can play that. It was nice just playing quietly and being together. But I was having issues because I was itchy and thought going to get allergy medicine would help.
Before we left we chatted with the worker in the library about tomorrow. Apparently this is the first time they've done this itinerary, which is probably why the timing is all weird. But tomorrow we'll be in glacier bay and the park services is bringing people on board to talk to us because we aren't getting off. So it's like a tour but it's on the ship. Neat!
I felt really really itchy when we got back to the room. So after changing three times James suggested I take a shower and wait for the meds to kick in. And that did help. I'm still a little itchy but it's not so bad anymore.
We came up here to the lounge. And we've been reading and drawing. And soon the ship will start to move again.
And tomorrow it is a ship day. And I hope we can get a good seat on that outside area I found. I hope we see some wildlife. I'm really excited to see glaciers. James told me there are 1000 of them??? Incredible.
We're going to go eat some dinner now. I love you all. I hope you are safe and have been enjoying our journey!! Goodnight!!

Arcade Energy Work
"Arcade Marvelous" (Part 4)
Returned to the same arcade days later to do more experimenting.
The three animatronics (turned decor) asked if [Redacted] was gone because they were able to be awake all night for once. I said yes he was in a better place. They were neutral about this.
--Jasper said one kid didn’t like him since I had last been here. He did not respond when I asked if it was better to be noticed in general, even if negatively
--Helen asked for another round of cleaning, something about the infestation from last time. There was just a bit left over negative energy or something. Remembering what she had said last time about not liking how men viewed her, I offered her the idea of providing a shield for her. I can't stop what people do or think about her, but I can provide a way for that negative energy to bounce off of her rather than sticking. She big time wanted the shield. I implanted that to last her at least one year. She said she did not feel it now, but most likely would if that energy tries to come near her.
--Munch still said no to my helping with anything. I did not force it.
--Asked Geoff to energetically connect to the next animatronic (turned decor) because I for some reason couldn’t. It was Madame Oink. I asked Geoff on purpose because William had said I should try and work with my other two guides more often. However, W was pissed about this choice. He wanted to be the one to help in this circumstance. I said he was the one who told me to experiment with other guides. He stressed that he didn’t mean with animatronics. I said now I know what to do going forward.
W told me to put my hands on its chest and connect to the heart. I tried but still it wasn’t working. W sighed, threw his cig on the ground and said “Do I have to do everything around here?”, then he stepped forward to step inside the figure and wear it like a suit.
Somehow, that mixed with my pumping on the heart brought it to life and she startled awake like a patient coming out of a coma. W got out of the way and I began talking to her. She was super confused. W said to be patient, she just woke up. When she came to, she said, “Where’s [Redacted]?” I explained. She seemed glad to be rid of him, saying he was a “wriggly thing” that kept making her go dormant. I said that most likely wouldn’t happen anymore. She was relieved. I then offered her energy.
She had no hesitations and acted like a diva being handled by servants, putting her arms out and head back like she was at the spa. I began to energetically freshen her up. She was glad for it. She then took my hands, kissed them, and said thank you. I said You’re welcome and that was it. (She asked if i could check her companions next to her, I said I had very little time left but I could try).
--Triplet Birds I had to work fast on before having to leave. They were frozen solid and I had to thaw them. They gave consent of my helping them via gritted frozen teeth and eyes, muttering “Uh huh”.
Thawing was mostly what they needed. Unsure if it was related to [Redacted] or not. When the triplets realized the diva was awake, they did a sort of “Oh no” and sighed, but then they said it was fine and that sometimes she was just a bit much was all. Overall they felt much better. I mostly only spoke to the middle one which represented all three of them.

A Day Well-Spent
Pairing: Mob Boss!Bucky Barnes x F!Reader
Genre: It's like... fluff to the extreme
Warnings: mention of guns
Requested: nope
Summary: Y/N has just moved to Brooklyn and doesn't know how things are there. Bucky Barnes runs things around Brooklyn but what happens when they meet? Will she run away or will she still shoot her shot?
Author's Note: Hiya peeps! Okay, first of all, THANK YOU FOR 500 FOLLOWERS I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH I LOVE Y'ALL SO MUCH. also i think im obsessed with mob fics????? chile anyways so... enjoy!
---
"Ready to go, sweetie?"
"You know it, babe," Y/N grinned at her friend, Clarice. The two, on their way to work, had stopped by a coffee shop for their daily dose of caffeine. As they walked out of the café, Clarice turned to Y/N. "Finish your story! What did Brad say to you after that?!" Clarice reminded her and Y/N giggled.
"Oh, he was just too sweet! But not my type, ya know what I mean? I didn't know how to turn him down," she sighed. "Poor guy. If he had approached me…" Y/N lightly shoved her friend. "I have his number, should I pass it on?" Clarice turned to Y/N, wide eyed. "Darling, you're too good to me," she spoke with a strong Brooklyn accent.
Y/N burst out laughing. She had moved from another part of the country to Brooklyn for education; along with attending college, she was also working as a waitress at a nice little restaurant. That was how she met Clarice, her being another waitress at said restaurant. The two became fast friends.
Clarice was a few years older than Y/N, a single mother with a 4 year old son. Her son was extremely cute. As Y/N continued laughing, she didn't notice how her friend stopped in her tracks. Clarice was busy staring at the huge hunk of a man a few feet ahead of Y/N, standing in the middle of the pavement with his phone held to his ear, his back to them.
Bucky Barnes.
That man was James Buchanan Barnes, the King of Brooklyn. He ran the whole damn city along with his mob; very important and influential. On top of that? He was hot-headed, easily got angry and people knew what happened when he got angry. Except Y/N. Y/N didn't even know who he was.
As Y/N neared Bucky, still laughing for some reason, Clarice thought of calling out to her. And alert him of their presence? No way! "Clarice, you know I love it when you do your acc—" All of a sudden, Y/N collided into a soft wall, spilling her coffee all over it. Opening her eyes, she found out that it was no wall; instead, she had collided straight into a person.
And drenched his back with coffee.
He was wearing what looked like a very expensive suit and Y/N immediately felt guilty. "Oh my goodness, I'm so fucking sorry!" she blurted out as Bucky pulled the phone away from his ear, turning to look at her. His men, who were loitering around, had her surrounded as they pointed their guns at her. But she didn't notice.
She was busy staring at Bucky, her jaw slightly dropped. Hot damn, he is good looking, she thought to herself. It wasn't until he cleared his throat that she snapped out of a daydream. He had a stern expression on his face and she realized she messed up. He's someone important. Then she started apologizing profusely.
Bucky simply stared at her, taking in her features as he gave her a once-over. She's new, he realized, not from Brooklyn. "Hey, hey, hey, it's okay," he chuckled and she immediately shut up, offering him a timid smile. "I really am sorry, I feel like a total ass. That suit looks expensive, sir, is there any way I can help? Maybe pay for dry cleaning?"
"Do you know who I am?" he instead asked and her brows furrowed. "Oh Lord, am I supposed to know?! One mess up after another…" she grumbled and Bucky couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry. My name is Bucky Barnes, you may call me Bucky." At this point, even his men were surprised, lowering their guns.
Clarice was still standing there and one of the men caught her eye. He nodded his head towards Y/N and Clarice gave him an unsure smile. He sauntered over to her. "She's with you?" he asked and Clarice groaned, dropping her head. "She's new to Brooklyn, and has no idea who he is. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience."
The man smiled at her. "No worries, looks like the boss isn't gonna hurt her. I'm Sam, by the way." Clarice gave him a shy smile. Sam was also very good-looking. "I'm Clarice, nice to meet you." Better to remain on the good side of the mob. Back to Y/N and Bucky… "Bucky, that's a good name. Short for anything?"
He ran a hand through his hair, grinning. It had been years, years since someone outside of the mob had spoken to him so freely and without fear. It felt nice and refreshing, even more so because Y/N was super gorgeous. "James Buchanan Barnes." Y/N couldn't help but laugh. "Named after a president, huh?"
"You making fun of my name now, doll?" he smirked slyly. "Oh no no, I wouldn't dare," she flirted easily, "My name is Y/N. I still feel bad about ruining your suit, you won't even take the money…" Bucky waved her off. "First, Y/N is a wonderful name. Second, you don't need to worry your pretty head over me, this suit can easily be replaced."
"Then how about this? A coffee. My treat. It'll make me feel better," she insisted. Bucky raised a quick brow, thinking that he would be the one to ask her out but oh well, this works too. "Let's call it a date, shall we?" he purred, taking a step closer to her. She didn't back off. "If you'd like," she grinned up at him.
He couldn't help but grin back. "Excellent. Then how about you put your number in my phone and I pick you up next Sunday at 7 pm?" He thrust his phone into her hand and Y/N swore she heard someone gasping in the background. Bucky Barnes was a very private person but here he was now; handing his phone to a stranger.
She quickly put her number in his phone and handed it back, smiling. "I'll await your call." He leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "I have to go now, so I'll see you later. Say hello to your friend from my side. Sam! Stop flirting, man, we gotta go!" Y/N looked over her shoulder to see his friend flirting with Clarice.
She laughed and turned back to Bucky, who was already looking at her with a goofy grin on his face. "I'll see you next Sunday, Mr Barnes. Again, sorry for the suit!" He waved his arm in dismissal and got into the car, throwing her one last blowing kiss before zooming off. Y/N walked back to Clarice, who was staring at her, jaw dropped.
"I know the hell you didn't just do that."
"Did I do something wrong?" Y/N frowned. Then, all of a sudden, a wide grin bloomed on Clarice's face. "Do you even know who you're going to go on a date with next Sunday?!" Y/N blinked. "Is he someone important?" Clarice made a sound of indignation. "Important? Bitch, he's the Kingpin! The King of Brooklyn! A mob boss!"
Y/N's eyes went wide. "No way," she scoffed. "Yes way! Ask anyone! He runs things around here, babe. It was fun to see him all soft, though, he's kinda hot-headed and hard to impress. Even women stay away from him. And now you two are going on a date?! If this relationship does not end in a marriage I'm suing."
Y/N flushed slightly and punched Clarice on the shoulder. "Clair, we haven't even gone on one date." Clarice shrugged. "A girl can dream. Oh, your children will be the most beautiful! Did you see his right hand man, though?! Mamma mia! Said his name was Sam Wilson, I got his number!" The two reached their workplace.
Inside Bucky's car, he was still smiling, lost in thoughts. "So, that chick, huh," Sam spoke devilishly from the driver's seat. Bucky looked at him. "That's no way to talk about the future Mrs Barnes," he admonished and Sam chortled. "Dude, you haven't been on even one date! Slow down, chicks don't like dudes who plan out a marriage on the first date."
"But I know I'm right, so why shouldn't I plan?" Bucky shrugged. He was more than confident that Y/N was going to become his in the future. The way she looked at him, spoke to him, flirted with him… it was enough for him to become smitten with her at the first glance. "What about you and her friend, huh?"
It was Sam's turn to become flustered. "Clarice Light. Has a 4-year old son, Aaron." Bucky nodded thoughtfully. "A mother. Well-maintained looks," he commented, laughing when Sam punched him on the shoulder. "Why don't you think about your own chick and leave mine alone?"
---
Y/N frantically smoothed out her dress, checking herself in the mirror. She wore a beautiful, nude coloured bandage dress that reached mid-thigh, along with similar coloured heels. Bucky was coming to pick her up in 5 minutes. Even after finding out who he was she didn't back away, instead finding it empowering that the most important man in Brooklyn wanted to take her out on a date.
All of a sudden the bell rang, pulling Y/N out of her thoughts. The first thing she saw upon opening the door was a huge bouquet of red roses right in front of someone's face. He then moved the bouquet to reveal his face and Y/N smiled broadly. "Bucky!" He grinned back at her. "Hi, doll! Here, an extraordinary bouquet for an equally extraordinary woman."
"You're too flattering. These roses smell amazing, thank you so much." She took the bouquet from his hands and kept it away, stepping out of the house. Bucky offered her his hand and she took it, allowing him to lead her out of the building and towards an audacious, ridiculously expensive looking car.
"Everything about you is lavish, huh?" she teased as he ushered her into the passenger seat, sitting next to her. "Bad to have a taste for the finer things in life?" he teased right back, placing his hand on her thigh as the other gripped the steering wheel. "No, I mean, you are the Kingpin. I should expect luxury."
He glanced at her to see her grinning at him. "You found out?" She nodded. "Yup, Clarice told me as soon as you left. I don't mind though, I'm just wondering… why me?" He laughed. "Why you? Sweetheart, you are the first person aside from Sam who has talked to me so freely since… since I was 18. And you're gorgeous. So why not?"
"Again, with the flattery…"
"Just stating facts, my dear."
"Also, my friend has a crush on Sam, so do tell him to ask her out." Bucky laughed harder. It had been years since he'd enjoyed himself so much. "Really? He has a crush on her too! I guess I'll tell him tomorrow." Y/N looked out of the window. "Where are we going?" Bucky gently squeezed her thigh. It was clear he wasn't taking her to a café, like originally planned.
"A picnic in the park." Y/N's eyes lit up. "I love picnics!" she squealed. "Then I guess I made a good choice," Bucky chortled along. The two soon reached the park and Bucky got out of the car first, holding the door open for Y/N to step out. "A gentleman," she noted, making him grin. He then took out the picnic basket from the backseat.
Y/N laid out the classic pink and white checkered blanket that he had brought along, taking off her heels before sitting down. "Ugh, I'd have worn pants if I knew I was going to be sitting on the ground," she groaned as she somehow sat down, adjusting her dress.
"You look gorgeous in that dress though," Bucky commented, "But you don't need to worry about public indecency because it's just you and me in the park." Y/N blinked at him as he sat down, opening the basket and taking out food. "Just us? You booked the whole park?" Bucky smirked at her. "It's easy when you run things around here."
Y/N fondly shook her head. "So much effort." He winked at her. "All for you, doll, all for you." The two maintained a chat as they ate. "So, you're new here. Why did you move to Brooklyn?" Bucky asked her. "Education. I go to [Name] college, actually, and work part-time as a waitress for some additional income," she hummed. He nodded thoughtfully.
"What about you? Is the mob a family business or a start-up?" Bucky smiled at her boldness. "Family business, my dad used to run it before me. I was 16 when I took over." Y/N realized what must've happened and gave him a sad smile. "I'm sorry for your loss." Bucky returned the smile. "It's fine, he was no saint."
"No?"
"Yup, hated him actually. Used to be cruel to my mom, to me too… until he got shot. Best day of my life." Y/N gasped quietly. "Bucky! He was your father!" Bucky chuckled mercilessly. "An asshole is what he was. Geez, speaking of, my mom is gonna be so happy."
"What's her name?" Y/N took a bite of her sandwich. "Winifred. She's awesome, raised me and my sister alone, ya know? Dad was always too busy. My mom will like you, I can tell. And so will my sister." Y/N smiled at that. "A sister?" He nodded, excited to talk about his family.
"Rebecca Barnes. She's a few years younger than me, maybe your age. She goes to your college too." Y/N suddenly squealed. "You mean to tell me my best friend from college is your sister? Rebecca Barnes?!" Bucky smiled so wide he thought his cheeks were gonna tear. "You've met her?" Y/N vehemently nodded.
"She's really great, the only person kind enough to introduce herself on the first day I moved in. She was the one who showed me around campus and I found out that she mostly spent time alone because no one wanted to talk to her, her brother being involved with the bad side of law or something. But I didn't care. I still don't. She's awesome, you're awesome."
Bucky felt himself tear up at her words. "Doll, you have no idea how much that means to me." Y/N grinned at him, scooting sideways so she could lay her head on his shoulder. "I'm serious, you know. I can't wait to tell her about this." Bucky laughed in a watery tone, pressing his lips to her temple.
The two quietly ate after that. When the food was over both of them lay down on the blanket, looking up at the starry sky. "It's so beautiful," Y/N whispered, cuddling into Bucky's side as she stared at the gibbous moon. Bucky wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer to him.
"It's nothing compared to you."
Y/N laughed quietly and looked up, the same time he looked down. They met each other halfway; their lips connecting softly yet eagerly. Lost in the kiss Bucky sat up, pulling Y/N on his lap as they continued making out. Finally, after what felt like hours did they pull away, breathless. They said nothing; Bucky looked at her as if she hung the moon.
Y/N stared at him as if he were the only thing in the world. "So, when will I get a second date?" she broke the silence, leaning down to press her forehead to his. "Oh, doll, you're not getting rid of me any time soon," he shot back, laughing. Y/N giggled along and stood up.
Both of them packed their things and got into the car, Bucky offering to drive her home since it was late. So I guess it had been hours. As Bucky drove, Y/N's phone chimed. He glanced at her when she laughed. "What's so funny?" Y/N wheezed before answering.
"I've got two texts. One from Becca and one from Clarice."
Bucky couldn't stop his chuckle. "What did Becca say?" Y/N read out, "Girl, just heard you're on a date with my bro? And I— I swear if you don't become my sister in law, I'm suing." Laughter filled the car. "She really said that?" Y/N nodded. "Yup! Even Clarice, on the day we met, said the same thing! It's nuts. We just met and they're already planning a wedding."
"Speaking of, what was Clarice's message?"
"Oh nothing, just that she got back home from a date with Sam a few minutes ago."
"What?!"
"What's wrong with that?"
"That asshole had work today!"
"Bucky!"
All in all, it was a day well-spent.

Can you do something flully where r is like an Avenger and they get hurt on a mission? And Hela gets all protective and takes are of r and cuddles them after?
A/N: Hello! Long time no see, I know. And I promise I’ll post soon about what’s been going on with life recently, but for now, a short little ask fill, since I’m trying to work on writing more this year. Enjoy!
WC: 1390
Rating: T, purely for mentions of blood and wounds
TW: None
“Hela, I’m fine,” you insisted.
You were decidedly not fine.
The mission you were currently wrapped up in had gone south gloriously. At least, it had for you. Everyone else seemed to be picking up the slack that had come from your disappearance from the battlefield, leaving you on the sidelines as Hela hovered over you, somewhere between furious as all hel and concerned that you had a wound at your side that was bleeding profusely. A wound which you were distinctly ignoring as you attempted to get your bearings well enough so that you could get yourself back up.
“Y/N, you are not fine.” Hela’s voice was firm, but there was a cluster of underlying emotions that ate through her attempt at keeping a calm appearance. You might have teased her about it, if you weren’t entirely sure she wouldn’t finish the job herself if you kept insisting you were okay.
“Hels, I’ve been hurt much worse than this. You know that.” You tried to push yourself up a second time, but a jolt of pain like fire coursing through your veins left you awkwardly pushed up on the balls of your feet and the palms of your hands, trapped in an awkward crabwalk position while you were unsure if it would hurt more to finish getting up or to lay back down.
“Y/N, so help me Norns if you try to get up one more time, I’m grounding you from missions.”
You scowled, but it was more playful than anything. “You’re not my mom, you can’t tell me what to do.”
“Even better, I’m your girlfriend. Your very stressed girlfriend who’s spent enough time in battle to know when a wound is life-threatening.”
Now that she mentioned it, you did feel a little bit like everything was moving in slow motion. And when had everything started to feel all light and warm?
“Y/N. Y/N, keep your eyes open. Stark, she’s got to get out of here. Now.”
“Medevac’s on their way. Hang in there, kid.”
You threw a thumbs up to absolutely no one, and tried to focus on the way Hela was looking at you, and the pressure of her hand against your side as she tried to staunch the bleeding as best she could without any proper equipment to do so.
“You’re an idiot, you know that?” Her voice was light, and you could tell she was desperately trying to appear calmer than she felt; likely for your sake alone. “Why would you sneak up behind someone who literally has super-hearing?”
You shrugged a shoulder, unable to stop the dumb little grin from spreading across your face. It just felt right, with how warm and relaxed and calm you were starting to feel. “For th’fun of it…” you muttered, your slurred voice going unnoticed by yourself, but causing Hela to look back up at you more intensely.
“Y/N.” Her voice sounded like it was coming from another room, and you tried to focus on it, even as you could feel the tendrils of unconsciousness enveloping you. “Y/N, stay awake. Stay with me.”
You smiled softly, unable to fight the urge to fall asleep any longer, and heard Hela say your name again, the sound of it echoing in your mind as you drifted off.
~~~~~~~~~~
You woke up in a haze, trying to wrap your brain around where you are, what had happened, and how you had gotten there.
You remembered the battle. You remembered fighting. And then… it became fuzzy. You furrowed your brow as you tried to remember, and took a slow breath to relax yourself a bit, but when that sent a sharp pain throughout the entire left side of your body, you couldn’t help the way you immediately tensed.
“Y/N?”
It wasn’t until you heard her speak that you realized Hela was laying with you, one arm carefully draped over your middle, which you now noticed was wrapped entirely in medical bandages from your collarbone all the way down to the pajama pants you were wearing.
Hela shifted carefully, propping herself up on an elbow as she laid so that she could face you properly.
“How are you feeling?” Hela spoke in that soft voice that only you were allowed to hear, and you felt the ghost of a smile tug at the corner of your lips.
“Like death,” you admitted before pausing. “…am I dead? Is this death? Did you escort me to the afterlife, are we in Hel?” You were only half-serious, but you were glad that Hela picked up on that as she watched you, tucking your hair out of your face with a gentle smile.
“No to all of the above. Though you certainly gave it your best shot.” She smiled a little more then, and pressed a kiss to your forehead. You allowed yourself to close your eyes, reveling in the affection and fighting the urge to pull her back against you when she drew back.
“…was it really that bad?” You supposed you did feel a little guilty about making light of your wound, but it must not have been so bad, if you were in your own room at the Compound and not in a hospital bed.
“Well, you lost a lot of blood… And you passed out. Gave us all quite the scare with that one, I’ll have you know.” She paused to roll her eyes as you grinned as cheekily as you could manage, but continued. “The wound itself really isn’t terrible. It was more… the placement causing the excessive blood loss.”
You really didn’t care about the technicalities of the wound at all, but you’d listen to Hela talk softly to you for as long as she would.
“And what’s the verdict, doc? Will I live?” you teased gently, reaching to hold her hand so that you could pull it close enough to kiss the back of it. There was something about possibly-mortal wounds that made you infinitely more affectionate.
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe with about a week of nothing but bedrest.”
“A whole week? Are you joining me for the bedrest-ing too? Little treat for surviving, hm?” You grinned up at Hela, who was shaking her head affectionately at your antics.
“Yes, I’ll be here whenever you need me, no we will not be partaking in any shenanigans like you’re wanting. At least not until you’re fully healed.”
You pouted in jest, but nodded, resigning yourself to at least a week confined in your room. “Well… At the very least, can I have cuddles?”
Hela softened even more, and pressed a kiss to the top of your head, and this time, you put your arm around her to keep her held close, shifting a little so that you could both be more comfortable. It took a bit of shuffling, but finally you got yourself settled so that your head was against Hela’s shoulder, arm thrown over her waist as she watched you to make sure you were okay.
“…you really did frighten me. You know that?”
You nodded, feeling a minor pang of guilt in the pit of your stomach. “I know. I’m sorry.”
Hela said nothing, only kissed the top of your forehead as she pulled you closer. “I’m just glad you’re okay. I don’t know what I would do, if anything were to happen to you.”
You didn’t like the sadness that had settled in Hela’s tone, so you smiled a bit, trying to ease the tension. “Aw… You like me.”
Hela rolled her eyes, but smiled, and that’s all you had really wanted, so you beamed as she pulled you closer. “I should hope so. Or else we’re doing this dating thing very wrong.”
“Yeah, yeah…” Despite the fact that you’d only just woken up, you felt a wave of sleepiness wash over you, and you tried and failed to hide a yawn from Hela.
“Sleep, darling… I’ll be right here if you need me.” She reached to pull the covers up around your waists and cupped your face, kissing you gently as she got you settled.
“Promise?” you murmured, sounding for all the world like a small child in need of reassurance.
“I promise,” she murmured, kissing your head again as she began to play with your hair to help lull you back to sleep. “I promise.”
Beidou
It doesn’t matter how close or far apart you are from her, she will still find herself drawn to you -- luckily she never has to look very hard because most of the time you are right by her side
She might turn to see you gazing at her, the smile on your face so telling of the affections in your heart -- she’ll be standing at the side of her massive ship and feel the sweet embrace of your arms around her, the comfort of your chest against her back and no matter how chilly the water seems, you’ll always make her warm
She doesn’t mind the close contact, oftentimes she welcomes it, the only thing she worries about is your safety when things start to get unsteady on the choppy seas - but you’ve proven to her how capable you can be in all your skills
The sea was calm, the steady dip and sway of the Crux a constant reminder of the mysteries below. How deep did the water go - what lay just out of her sight and would she ever see the secrets of the depths. Her hands pressed against the deck railing, shoulders locking into place as she leaned against the boat. It was a test to see if your legs could handle the bobbing of the unsteady and, at times, unpredictable ocean temperament but after years of journeying these vast waters, she had no issues.
She closed her eyes and took in the smell of salt mixed with pitch and tar. She’d grown accustomed to the combination but recalled the days where the scent made her retch. Breathing in again, she took in a new scent. Roses and lavender, with a hint of mischief.
“Shouldn’t you be asleep?” Beidou asked, her eyes opening to see you standing in between her arms.
“I couldn’t -- I missed you.” Your smile was as bright as the moon, your fingers as soft as flower petals, voice as delicious as a good bottle of wine. As your fingers ran over her lips she allowed herself to divulge into the taste. “Shouldn’t you also be asleep, captain?” Your tone was playful, experiencing the residual effects of the giggle she coaxed out of your moments before.
“I wanted to check on things, my duties never rest even if I must.” Beidou stepped forward, her hands remaining on the railing even though her body drifted closer to you. The distance didn’t seem to bother you as your arms quickly wrapped around her waist to hold her even closer.
“Then I will check on things with you.”
“Will you now?” She asked, laughing.
“Mhm, you can count on me.”
She adored you and it was easy to see that you returned her feelings -- you always found ways to shower her in your attention, in your affection, and she found herself expecting great things every day
Tonight though, under the light of the moon she took you in her arms and swayed with the help of the ship and the constant, drifting waves
Jean
There are times when she wishes that she can be more available to you, but with all the duties on her plate, she finds it hard to spend more than a few moments here and there. She hopes you understand that her distance isn’t directed at you -- she promises to take every moment that she can to spend it with you
It’s the quick embraces in her office that fill her battery, it’s the soft touches and reassuring gestures that remind her you are happy being with someone so busy, it’s the tender kisses on the cheek when no other eyes can see where she finds herself the most thankful
She never imagined that she’d have someone so incredible as you in her life -- sometimes she wonders if divulging in your generosity, your kindness, your love isn’t selfish … but how could she let anyone else see what you give her every day
Pacing her office was a habit of hers. It helped keep the blood in her legs flowing as she worked longer hours than those around her would like. It wasn’t often that she was able to leave, who knows what might happen if she did. Who might need her advice, support, or solution, so this was the best thing she could get to be physical at times.
Every once in a while she had conversations with Lisa, maybe even finding the chance to stalk Kaeya if only to collect the work he was supposed to return -- though he frequently evaded her. More often than not, she dealt with Klee and her own restless habit. At least Jean’s pacing wouldn’t blow a hole in one of the walls of Mondstadt.
Her mind drifted, her finger pressing against her lips as she worked through the problems outlined in front of her. It was up to her to figure them all out, how exhausting. Jean jumped when she felt something slide around her stomach, her head twisting to see who was entering her space but, when she saw you, her demeanor relaxed substantially.
“You looked stressed.” Your head rested against her, chin finding ground against her shoulder as you looked at her with a tender expression.
“There is a lot to do, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.” She placed her hands onto yours, her thumbs rubbing over your skin.
“Maybe you don’t need to handle them at all?” Jean’s brows furrowed, her eyes shifting as she tried to understand your comment. “I mean, you could give them to someone else you know, delegate.”
“A-ah … then that would just pass the workload onto another, I couldn’t do that.”
“You are quite an impressive woman, Jean, but you can’t do it all alone.”
“It’s my duty …”
“I know, I know.” You pressed a kiss to her neck, the tightness of your embrace increasing as you showed her you understood her position. “How about taking a break then? You need to rest.” You didn’t wait for her to argue. Slowly you brought her to the couch in the corner of her office, making sure she settled into the seat next to you.
“You can keep working if you want, but I’m not letting you get up from here, not for a while anyway.” Jean sighed and resigned herself to your win.
It was easier to give in than try and fight against you anyway, this is why you always won. She had a soft spot for you -- your consideration of her, your patience, your strong will to get her to take some time. You helped her more than she could ever say, and far more than she could ever repay
There was a stir, a shift that pulled Jean from her sleep and when she analyzed her surroundings, she found you resting peacefully on her shoulder. Your hand wrapped around her arm, a blanket draped over the both of you. You looked so peaceful, content -- she smiled and couldn’t deny this was the first time in weeks she felt fully rested
Ningguang
She’s a woman who knows what she wants - the determination, strictness, focus that she has for everything that she does is so incredible there are few that think she must be more than human
Reservation, Composure, Proper - all of these describe how she interacts with others, and when it comes to you she is no different
In the light of the public eye, she treats you with respect -- behind closed doors, she behaves much more attached for she prefers to have you by her side if at all possible - to bathe in your company is like basking in the gaze of Morax himself
Ningguang surrounded herself with documents. Her desk was nearly littered with them, leaving only enough room for a few spare items here and there. It seemed that there was more work to be done after the fall of the Jade Palace and, while she wished to start working on plans for the future, it seemed all her attention was shackled to the present.
Knocking out her pipe into the ashtray, she let it rest so she could stand and organize the current state of work orders piling up behind her. Attendants came and went, their proper work ethic motivating her to continue - how could she expect those around her to keep working hard if she let herself slack. There would be plenty of time to rest once these were through … when that would be though was a question she didn’t have the answers to.
There was a knock at the door, her attention drawn to the soft rapping of knuckles on the rich wooden frame and, when she saw you standing there patiently, she grew more at ease.
“Come in.” She beckons, resting the documents on the table before making her way toward you.
“Are you busy?” You asked, looking over her shoulder at the pile of documents on her desk. While it may appear to others that her duties were smothering, it was common practice for Ningguang to keep records of nearly anything she did.
“There are still many tasks ahead, which we will get to when the time comes. To what do I owe the pleasure?” She felt your fingers wrap around hers and with a soft smile, she let you take them.
“Would you object to me just … hang around for a while?” Your expression was nervous, it was as if you were never fully confident in your standing with her.
“I wouldn’t object, besides, having something nice to look at while one works is good for the heart.” She pushed your chin up as if to remind you to always be yourself around her and when your lips stretched into a smile she knew, once again, that she was right in choosing you.
How could another be allowed to look at your face? How could she handle the thought of you being taken by another -- she often looked at you with eyes you’d swore knew all the answers but love often makes one unsure -- and she was still surprised that you choose a woman like her
A woman who came from nothing, who fought and crawled her way to the place she was today - yet, she couldn’t help but feel that when you looked at her, when your hand rested in hers, when your fingers ran across her skin, that you saw her for the woman she was - nothing more, nothing less - she could be completely herself in your presence
As she continued to work and you offered your input where you could, the two of you never let go of the other hand
Hi there!
I'm a big fan of your writing! I love how you characterize characters. They're all very different from each other and they seem very in character! If you don't mind, may I request Gojo, Nanami, Yuji and Megumi and how they'd be on the day of their first date with their s/o who they've been Pining after for so long? Or maybe how they'd be like the day of their wedding?
💘GOJO, NANAMI, YUJI AND MEGUMI ON THEIR FIRST DATE AND WEDDING DAY + HEADCANONS💘
Characters: Gojo, Nanami, Itadori, Megumi, gender neutral reader Genre: romance Warnings: grammar mistakes Notes: Aww anon, thank you so much! I pay attention to make them seem different so I’m really glad you noticed T.T (well, Gege-sensei makes everything easier since his characters are so well written ♥). I did both the date and the wedding, I hope it's ok!
→Requests are open!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gojo
He has never felt so nervous for a date before.
He doesn’t really organise anything in particular, he simply dresses up and tells you to meet in town.
You walk around the streets full of people, stop at shop windows, take photos, buy something... just normal things.
He holds your hand most of the time, nobody will stop him from being affectionate now.
Whenever he finds a food shop or a stall, he stops and buys some food, like seriously he makes you eat a lot lol
He’ll joke a lot about how hard you made him work before you fell in love with him, how could you resist such a hot man for so long?
Everything feels a bit random, but it’s not bad not having anything organised.
By the end of the date, he tries to get at least a make-out session.
~
If someone had told him “you’ll get married one day”, he would’ve called that person crazy.
The only thing he really likes about weddings is the after party and he basically asks you to get married only because he wanted a big party.
He invites a lot of people, he calls a dj for the music and definitely tries to do stupid games and pranks.
He’ll definitely dirty your face with the cake when you two cut it and pray he didn’t rent a place with a pool otherwise he’ll throw you and your expensive dress into it lmao
When the wedding day arrives, he’s probably super nervous right before the ceremony. He wore his shirt inside out and he tried to tie his bow tie four times, but luckily Shoko was there and fixed everything.
After the formalities are sorted, he gets much more relaxed and ready to party lol
Nanami
He wants everything to be perfect, he doesn’t want to disappoint you in any way.
Buys new clothes, go to the hairdresser, he’s basically as shiny as a diamond.
He booked a restaurant and right on time he’s at your house, ready to drive you to your date.
He likes the quiet and intimate atmosphere, interrupted only by the waiter and the good food.
You talk about many things and get to know each other better.
You weren’t really expecting it, but he flatters you often.
It’s almost funny because he comes out of nowhere saying saying things like “your eyes are really pretty” with his stern face.
If you didn’t know he always means what he says, you would think he was lying lol
When he drives you back home, he greets you with a small kiss on the lips.
~
He has always dreamed of being married.
He’s not a fan of huge parties, he prefers traditional and classic ceremonies.
He takes care of the organisation, chooses the place, the colors of the decorations, the flowers etc. etc.
Of course, he pays a lot of attention to his own wedding dress too.
Everything in his plans is perfect, there is only a variable that will definitely try to mess up something, but unfortunately he still cares about the variable enough to want him at his wedding so he hoped for the best.
When the day arrives he won’t show it, but he’s very nervous, very happy, very in love.
Itadori
So nervous lol
He wanted to bring you to a fancy place, but he’s broke so you end up watching a movie.
He absolutely wants to watch a film you’d like.
You chose a romantic comedy and he gets a bit flustered because the movie is so cheesy and argh was he supposed to do something? Like accidentally brushing your hand while you take popcorn or grab your hand while you have it on your arm chair??? eventually he doesn’t do anything.
He ends up not remembering anything of the movie afterwards.
You eat a cheeseburger in a fast food nearby and now he feels definitely more relaxed and comfortable.
Like Nanami, he likes to compliment you, but in a warmer way.
He is impressed by anything you say. You study? He’s so impressed. You work? He’s so impressed. You like knitting sockets? Wow, he’s even more impressed.
Your confidence skyrockets.
When it's time to say goodbye, he gives you a big hug.
~
He doesn’t think marriage would add anything to your relationship, but he would really like to spend a day where you two are the protagonists and where you could have fun together with all your friends.
It’s an easy-going party, good food, nice music, a lot of laughs and fun.
He’s probably the most relaxed out of the four on his wedding day, he feels the most comfortable with you and his friends so he’s super happy to spend a special day together.
Megumi
He isn’t really sure about what to do, so it will probably take him a lot of time before asking you on a date.
One day he noticed there was an art exhibition and he asked if you wanted to go together.
He’s not a super expert of art, but he thought looking at paintings could give him many conversation topics.
He’s awfully afraid you’ll think he is boring or uninteresting, so he really tries hard to talk a lot.
That’s kinda weird for you because you know him well, but you still think it’s very cute he’s putting so much effort.
He pays a lot of attention to how he’s dressed, like Nanami. He was probably stressing over it so hard.
He chooses something a bit plain eventually, because he doesn’t want to look too desperate to get your attention.
You still think he looks very good, he’s a natural beauty.
At the end of your date, he feels very unsure about what to do, he thinks you shouldn't kiss on a first date and any other form of contact would be too awkward so he gives you a little and safe kiss on the cheek and runs away.
~
Not a great fan of weddings and parties, too many people, too much noise, but he loves the engagement and stability a marriage gives to a couple.
You invite only few people, the ceremony is not too formal, it’s intimate but still fun also because those few people are actually chaotic af (you think Gojo and Nobara would just sit quietly? Nah).
He feels very emotional when the day comes, his hands tremble a little and his voice shakes from time to time, he smiles much more.
Fe fatigue or sensory fatigue?
Hello!
I believe I am ENFJ, with a 2 core (unsure of the wing, but I see very much my line to 8) so/sp or so/sx. I am sure that I use the NiSe axis.
I lead a very active life, maybe a bit too much in the sense that initially it made me happy but now I feel the tiredness creeping in my life. My relatives keep telling me that I run everywhere. I can go from my work, which is physically and emotionally tiring, to a 2 hour sport session without going home, then I spend the evening with my roommate. The day after, I can go on a night shift. And it repeats it self. One month from now I'll have a much quieter work (and way closer from my home), which will help ease the situation.
On top of that, I feel like I should keep my social circles alive, so I keep organizing things with my friends. At the beginning, it was something I did out of joy but it kinda became an obligation, even if seeing my friends still makes me happy. It feels as if I was responsible for the group survival even if I know it is not the case, and I frequently experience unfounded guilt about it.
Right now I'll have a completely free week-end and it feels me with joy. I really look forward spending my Sunday daydreaming (even if my roommate will be around).
These day I felt angry more frequently, to the point I would snap at people who would want to plan things with me or get really stressed about it.
And I found myself creating rigid organizations again (for which clothes I should buy, how I would organize my sport sessions, what I would do in a distant future). It's something I do mostly in time of stress.
Even if ENFJ suits me quite well, I don't recognize the ENFJ coping systems in what I'm living. Or maybe I ventured myself in deep stress systems? Sometimes I wonder if I mistyped because ENFJ insures me the life I want while believing it's engraved in my personality (social bonding and physical activity).
Or maybe it's too much sensory stuff for an intuitive.
I am conscious to be very stressed out and I am doing what I should to deal with it (talking to my friends and family, trying to have time off, changing jobs...). A last thing adding I to this mix is one of my roommates copying my lifestyle because she finds it cool I guess, and it makes feel very weird and a bit stressed about it.
I don't want to abuse of your time, thank you for the read and also for your work on this blog.
Have a good day!
Being intuitive types, if ENFJs don't spend enough time alone in a Ni way (thinking about their future, envisioning what they want, and centering themselves on the right path), they will start to feel overwhelmed by the outside world (low Se). You're cramming too much into your schedule, when what you really need to do is... rest. It won't even need to be for a long time, just long enough to reconnect to your dreams. Something to remember, as well, is that your 2ish super-ego (I have to do this, I have to keep us together, I have to plan everything, I have to be there for my friends even if I need down time...) is an inner guilt-trip, but it's not true.
Maybe your friends will still call each other and get together to do things if you aren't arranging it -- and maybe they won't. Why not try it and see what happens? Sometimes EFJ 2s assume a burden of keeping everyone in touch, when it would be better for them (and their friends) for them to let someone else step up once in a while. I think you need to lay off the intense social interactions for a while. Just a couple of weeks, until you get settled into this new situation and feel less stressed. Look at your schedule and decide what is optional -- and drop it for the time being. Do what you need to, give yourself a chance to rest and replenish yourself (what could you do that you love, and that makes you feel good? go for walks? visit the zoo? work on something artistic by yourself?), and recognize, fully, that you NEED to self-care in order to be there for other people. You want to love people, to do things for them, to keep them connected to each other, but you can't do that if you are, as Bilbo Baggins would say, feeling like "not enough butter, stretched over too much bread."
Take a break. And tell your inner 2 guilt trip I told you to do it. ;)
Visiting Hours
Spencer Reid x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 1074 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Spencer’s new wife dealing with his incarceration and all the struggles that come along with it.
——————————————————————————————————
Being away from Spencer was killing you.
You couldn’t believe that your lives had come to this. Up until now, you didn’t even think that something like this was possible.
...But you’d been wrong.
Spencer was in prison, and could be for up to three months. That fact alone was bad enough but what was even worse was the not knowing. You had a front row seat to what kind of men ended up in those places.
Monsters lived within those walls and now Spencer was locked in with them.
You couldn’t imagine anything worse than that.
Every night, you went to bed, completely unsure if Spencer would be alive in the morning, and the mornings weren’t much better. All they did was remind you that he wasn’t there, when you had to wake up in an empty bed.
By all accounts, you were finding it hard to keep up hope. You just missed him so much, and nothing you did would make it better.
The two of you had just gotten married a few weeks ago and now, you weren’t even sure you’d be able to see him again without a sheet of plexiglass between you.
If you didn’t figure this out before long, there was a chance he’d be in there for life. Based on what Prentiss had told you, he’d be lucky if he got twenty-five years.
That was hardly what you’d been expecting when you said I do, especially not after all of the years that you had known him.
You were sure Spencer wasn’t that kind of guy, and that was because he wasn’t.
You knew that, they all knew that, but proving it wasn’t going to be so easy. Thankfully, that wasn’t your job. Your job was to be there for him, and that you could do.
Especially seeing as they’d recently cleared Spencer for visitors.
If nothing else, you would be able to see him for yourself, and make sure he was okay.
Or at least, breathing.
It would have been foolish of you to even entertain the idea that he could be okay after everything he’d been there. You certainly weren’t okay, so there was no possible way that he was.
Still, it did help to know that at least you could talk to him again. Anything would be better than struggling with the unknown.
For now, you just had to let that be enough.
It was a little victory, a small victory in a sea of crap, but a victory nonetheless.
It had to be enough, for your sake and his.
You didn’t know what you would do if it wasn’t.
~
You were practically shaking with nerves as you waited in the lobby for your turn at check in. It was a super tedious process but for some reason, this whole place had you on edge.
You couldn't imagine Spencer in here all the time, as unsettling as it was on this side, you shuddered to think about the other.
It was terrifying.
Still, before you could imagine just what fresh hell Spencer had to endure, it was your turn. Your identification and paperwork had all gone through and that meant you could see him now.
You had to follow some pretty strict guidelines and rules within the walls, but it was all worth it to see Spencer.
Frankly, you would do anything you could if it meant seeing him. At this point, there was very little you wouldn’t do. Getting to look him in the eye was all you wanted.
...And as it would turn out, that was the only thing you could have.
Within a matter of minutes, the man you loved came into view, along with a gaggle of other inmates.
He didn’t look good, of course, but that was to be expected. You had no idea if he’d been sleeping or eating. The stress of the last few days alone would be enough to cause that.
Spencer hadn’t been expecting you today, as best he knew, it was Garcia’s visiting day. That didn’t affect his relief to see you though, not in the least.
He’d missed you, so much that he didn’t even realize the severity of it until seeing you again.
You were beautiful.
There wasn’t a moment since he’d been in here that he hadn’t thought about you.
Every memory you two shared together were what was keeping him going, from your first date to how beautiful you looked on your wedding day.
He didn’t think it was possible to be more in love with you than that moment but Spencer was wrong.
Right now, being able to see you was a Godsend.
“Hey” you started, thought nothing felt like the appropriate greeting. You’d been thinking about what you would tell him if you got a chance, but now, there was nothing.
You were coming up empty.
Thankfully, Spencer was more than willing to just sit here, taking in every detail of your face. More than anything, he just wanted to see you.
It was a dream come true.
“I’d hug you but I don’t think it’s allowed” you added finally, before anything else. You could practically feel your skin itching to touch him, to hold him, but you just couldn’t.
Those sorts of things weren’t allowed in a place like this.
You supposed it was too human.
Spencer smiled, a small amount of joy evident on his face for the first time in a while. Without the glass separating you, this almost felt like all those other times before.
You would have pizzas and watch movies, with pleasant conversation scattered about, or crack jokes on dinner dates.
“It’s okay, I get it” he shrugged, not even bothering to drop his gaze from your face. Normally, he would have been bashful about it but not now.
Now, he wanted to take in even the most minor details of your face. This was all he had in here, after all.
“How are you doing? I mean, aside from the obvious” you wondered, you didn’t really know what else there was to say.
You couldn't talk about the outside while he was trapped in here, but you also didn’t want to know too much about the inside.
Your imagination was cruel enough.
“It’s only a couple months. How bad can it be?” he shrugged, asking the one question you wished he wouldn’t.
After all, that was what you were afraid of.
brainy or nia try on karas glasses one day and kara realizes that they were brenda/brandon?
- Oh my god, yes! Thank you for the prompt. x
“No, no,” Alex said decisively. “It’s been years and I still don’t get it. How the hell do glasses make it impossible for people to recognise you? I’d know you from anywhere.”
Nia grinned from across the table, lifting her drink to her lips as Alex pinched Kara’s cheek, only to be batted away by her little sister a second later.
“Okay,” Kara said with a snort. “Your next round is gonna be water shots.” She turned her head from the table, making a show of searching the bar. “Where’s Al?”
“Oh, you know he heads out back the second this party rolls in,” Kelly said with an impish smile, raising her own glass. She took Alex’s hand before she could pester Kara any further, winding their fingers firmly together. “Although, I have to agree with the water.”
“Hydration would appear useful at this stage,” Brainy added with a sage nod. “She may also benefit from lining her stomach with something a little more substantial.”
Nia grinned, leaning back against Brainy’s chest. “Is that your not-so-subtle hint that you want more onion rings?”
She’d perched herself on the edge of Brainy’s stool some time into the evening; her smile widened when she felt his hands link around her front in response. “Sometimes, multiple issues can call for a single solution,” Brainy pointed out, tucking his face into her hair. “What is the saying? Two birds, one stone?” Nia's face warmed when Brainy’s lips traced idly along the side of her jaw.
Kara grinned. “Well, hey, I’m not gonna say no to more onion rings.”
It was fair to say that they’d all had a few drinks between them by now, although Kelly and Alex were strictly drinking from the human menu. Things always got a little whacky with alien grade alcohol, and despite her half-Naltorian genetics, Nia had barely been able to stomach a single sip of Brainy’s drink of choice. It suited his tolerance level far better, and made for a slower automatic response for his body to factor out the alcohol and sober him up. If his sudden confidence with intimacy in a public environment was anything to go by, Nia figured it was definitely working.
Nia knew Kara was drinking something similar to Brainy, although her Kryptonian biology made her far more resilient against its contents. She wasn’t even slurring.
Meanwhile, Nia was feeling all kinds of warm inside. Although, Brainy’s hold on her was probably a major factor in that.
It had felt like forever since they’d last gone out like this, and from the recent stress they’d all been under, it wasn’t exactly surprising that they’d found their way to Al’s bar. Plus, after the number of times they’d saved this place from one catastrophe or another, they got some incredibly generous discounts even on some of the rarer beverages. It was just unfortunate that Alex’s human tolerance really wasn’t matching up. And, considering Kelly was still on her first drink, she was currently the only person everyone was sorely worried about getting home safely that night.
With that in mind, Nia was just about to suggest heading up to the bar to go order, when Alex made her move, whipping her hand out quick enough to snatch Kara’s glasses straight from her face, balancing them across her nose.
She turned to Kelly immediately, staring at her levelly. “Well?” she asked expectantly. "How do I look?”
“It’s like looking at a total stranger,” Kelly deadpanned. She smirked, leaning in closer. “Although, they do make you kinda mysterious.”
Alex’s smile broadened. “Oh really?”
“My turn!” Nia chirped, plucking the glasses from Alex’s face. She rested her elbows on the table, propping her chin up with her hands the moment she had the glasses on. She narrowed her eyes, testing out her new perspective. As anticlimactic as it was, nothing really changed. It was just like staring through two pieces of clear glass. Nia pouted. She supposed it wasn't unexpected - that was exactly what she was doing, after all.
“It’s weird being able to see clearly while wearing someone’s else’s glasses,” Nia mused, playing around with the glasses’ temples, wiggling them up and down in front of her face. “Has anyone who didn’t know your secret ever done this before?” She jerked her head up, snapping her fingers. “Ooh, I know, I bet you just tell them you both need the same prescriptions. Am I right, or am I right?”
Kara didn’t answer.
“...Kara?”
When Nia turned, she realised that Kara was staring directly at her, a half-stunned daze in her eyes.
“What, did the alcohol finally kick in?” Nia prodded good-naturedly, only for Kara to reach out suddenly, taking the glasses away from her. “Hey! I was using those!”
Kara remained silent. Instead, with unnerving intensity, she came forward, slipping the glasses onto Brainy’s face. Brainy jerked from the unexpected contact, lifting them away from his nose as though they'd burned. He blinked quickly in affront, eyeing Kara suspiciously. “What was that for?” he asked.
“It was you two,” Kara said mildly; her voice sounded far too calm for comfort, like she was on the verge of a full-blown freak out. “All those years ago, in Midvale. It was you.”
Nia spluttered at the exact same moment as Brainy. She snapped her head towards him desperately. “What?” she asked, registering the panic in Brainy’s eyes that she knew was reflected identically in her own. “No—what—no?” She dug her hand into her boyfriend’s shoulder, squeezing tight. “Do you know what she’s talking about?”
“I have no idea what you are- what she’s talking about-” Brainy snorted defensively. “Do-do you?”
Nia nudged him nervously, eyes wide. “I just said I didn’t, genius.”
“...Right,” Brainy said quickly, clearing his throat. He raised his voice, turning back to Kara. “Two admissions though! Thus further proving that we have no idea what you are talking—”
But, Kara was still staring, a cold glare of certainty in her eyes. “I’d know that scrambling for an excuse anywhere,” she said, taking Brainy’s hands and guiding the glasses back into place over the bridge of his nose. She met no resistance this time, Brainy was far too busy gaping at her. “Brendan.” She turned to Nia accusingly. “Brenda.” Her lips split into a pained smile. “Rao- I thought you two were hiding something, but I was willing to accept it, because... I thought you were lost.”
“In our defence, we sorta were,” Nia admitted sheepishly. “The crash wasn’t part of the plan.”
It was Brainy’s turn to nudge her. “Nia.”
“Give it up, Brainy.” Nia cringed. “We’re caught.”
Kara ran her hands through her hair, shaking her head in bewilderment. “What were you guys even doing there? When did this even happen for you?”
“When you were in the Phantom Zone,” Nia said slowly, ducking her head.
“We needed your DNA,” Alex said softly. It sounded as though the recent commotion had done a good job at sobering her up. “To track you down.”
“It was thanks to these two that we were able to save you at all,” Kelly added.
Something crossed Kara’s expression then, but it was so quick that Nia barely caught it. All she knew was that in that moment, Kara looked entirely vulnerable. “Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked weakly.
Brainy swallowed hastily. “Had you known our true identities in 2009, it would have caused ramifications in the timeline that could have irrevocably changed the future.”
“I don’t mean then,” Kara said sharply, attention snapping to Brainy. Her expression fell. “Why not when I came back?”
“It didn’t seem… necessary,” Brainy said uncomfortably. Nia felt his grip tighten back around her and ran her hand across his arm, squeezing gently.
Kara scoffed, folding her arms. “Not necessary? You guys were in my past—you saved my life, and you didn’t think to tell me?”
“So much happened,” Nia said carefully. “Kara, we didn’t want to stress you out any more than you already had been.”
“Come here,” Kara said suddenly.
Nia blinked her surprise, catching Brainy’s eyes quickly for confirmation. Hesitantly, Brainy nodded, unlocking his arms from around Nia’s waist. Nia slipped from the stool, stepping towards her alongside Brainy.
They stared at her unsurely for all of two seconds before Kara came forward, swooping them both into the most intense super hug Nia thought either of them had ever experienced.
Nia gasped for breath, wrapping her free arm automatically around Kara’s back. The brush of Brainy’s fingers confirmed to her that he had done just the same.
“I never thought I’d get a chance to say this,” Kara murmured into the space between them. “But, thank you. Both of you, for everything that you did.”
“For... saving your life?” Brainy asked, voice muffled with confusion. “You’re... very welcome?”
Kara laughed, pressing her face into his hair. “Not that. Okay, well, of course that. But,” She sighed, drawing away again, her hands still locked tightly against each of their arms, “you both came to me at a time where I was questioning so much. My future, my identity, my place on Earth. I was hurting, in more ways I ever let on. And without you two—I don’t know what I might have done differently.”
Nia smirked. “Wait…” She turned her head towards Brainy. “Does that mean we were always meant to travel back to 2009?”
“Pre-destined time travel.” Brainy pondered on that thought for a long moment, his lips twitching into a smile of his own. He shrugged. “I suppose stranger things have happened.”
“You did crash, though,” Alex pointed out from across the table.
Brainy shot her a glare.
“Destiny,” Kelly cut in, sighing dreamily. “I like that, though.”
Nia knocked Brainy’s arm playfully. “Just like how you coming to this time gave you the chance to live freely. With us.” Nia squeezed her boyfriend's hand secretively before she turned back to Kara, smile softening. “Maybe we gave that same chance to you, too.”
“Thank you,” Kara said again. She blinked, wiping quickly at her face where tears were near approaching. “I- I don’t even think just saying that cuts it.”
Nia's smile widened mischievously. “Hey, does that mean the next round isn’t on us?”
Brainy raised a finger in consideration. “I believe tap water is on the house, anyway.”
“Hey, no water,” Alex shot back. “And you guys are not getting out of shots that easily.”
They all laughed at that. And, just like that, Nia felt as though an invisible tension that had been tethering them together had finally loosened.
She smiled as she re-joined her family back at the table, hand-in-hand with Brainy.
For the first time in a long time, it really felt like everything was going to be okay.
Embry’s POV
Hunting was a first-time and unique experience for me. As shifters, we didn’t need to hunt like regular wolves did; we ate normal, human food. We mostly ate the food Emily would prepare for the whole pack, and, thank God, her food was just as amazing as she was herself.
Honestly, we had to give her more credit than she accepted. She had to cook huge food portions to satisfy our insatiable wolf appetite, and she spent too much in her kitchen cooking for us every single day. She was like our wolf mom - if we could consider Sam as our wolf dad, making sure we were fed, healthy, and unharmed every day.
(Y/N) was running beside me, led by her vampire instinct to hunt. She was truly beautiful - she exuded so much power and confidence in whatever she did. I couldn’t help myself from turning to look at her every minute or so, watching the wind passing through her (y/h/l) hair, her eyes glistening in a deep gold color, her lips slightly parted. Every now and then, we would pass by a ray of sunshine, and her skin would glow like the most beautiful diamond I have ever come upon.
I didn’t know if it was the imprinting, but watching her doing her “vampire stuff” did not repel me at all; on the contrary, I felt closer and more drawn to her. She felt comfortable enough to open up to me, though I knew I had many more things to learn about her, and I was willing to wait for her to tell me anything she wanted.
I didn’t realize that transforming into a vampire could be as stressful as it was phasing into a wolf. I never had to think about it, because they are supposed to be our enemies, not people to sympathize with. In the end, I realized that we weren’t so different - just like us, most of the vampires we’ve come across, did not choose this lifestyle. In their case, though, it was someone else who decided for them; someone else who took away their choice in living a normal life.
I knew that, under normal circumstances, I would have never met or come across (Y/N) - and if I did, I would probably keep my distance from her. But I also knew that I was grateful that the pack made this “unofficial” agreement with the Cullens, and I could meet her, and be together maybe? Things were going fast here, and I didn’t exactly know if we were dating or just casual friends because of the imprinting. I didn’t want to believe she felt no connection to me, but I also would not receive the vulnerability she showed before as a sign she was into me. I would wait for her to decide, to tell me what she wanted for us. Whatever she chose, I’d accept it, as long as she was happy and alive.
She slowed down a little, looking directly at me. “At this point, we have to take in our surroundings, to take in every sound and smell around us. It is important to distinguish between an animal and a person, and control ourselves, to avoid anything bad happening.” She started explaining the process of hunting, and I could only nod at her for now, to assure her I understood what she was telling me.
She stood still for a few minutes, closing her eyes and breathing in every smell around us. “It’s a bit easier for me to “read” the environment around me. I create an illusion up to a certain distance, and if anything or anyone falls in the illusion, I can basically “see” them and understand their nature, what they’re thinking, what they’re feeling. That’s why it became a bit easier for me to abstain from human blood in the years after I decided to follow the vegetarian diet. I already kept my distance from humans, so I could avoid them easier.”
She suddenly opened her eyes and ran forward. I ran after her, trying to be close to her but also keep my distance. She stopped on top of a boulder, eyeing a mountain lion a few feet below us. She turned to me and nodded towards the lion, motioning me to stay quiet, before stroking my cheek lightly. I shivered under her touch and when she let go, I craved more.
In a swift move, she launched towards the lion, growling. The lion growled back at her, and I couldn’t help but growl at it as well. (Y/N) let out an animalistic growl as she fought to immobilize the lion, before sinking her teeth into its neck. Normally, the sighting would make my stomach turn, but, again, nothing was normal in our lives.
I watched closely as she sank her teeth in the lion’s neck once more, gulping the blood in the process. When she finally lifted her head, there was only a small strip of blood falling out of the left side of her mouth - her whole appearance still perfect, despite the fight. She looked at me, sweeping the blood with her pointer finger and licking it slowly. I don’t know why I was turned on by the sighting, but I was. Quite turned on.
She smiled cheekily at me, starting to giggle. And then, as if she was air, she suddenly disappeared in front of my eyes. She didn’t run away; she literally disappeared. I slightly freaked out, but then, I felt a small kiss under my ear, and I knew it was (Y/N). The sneaky little bastard “blinded” my vision, and was playing games with my head.
“Sorry. I was just messing with you.” She grinned, and snuggled in my side, wrapping her hands around my face. The smell of blood was still prominent in her breath, but I couldn’t care less. It felt as if she was reciprocating my feelings for her, and I couldn’t be happier.
“Are you okay? Shall we continue? I’m still pretty hungry.” She questioned me, her words barely coming out of her mouth, whispering so as not to ruin our happy little moment. I nodded, and she rubbed her face into my fur, before letting me go and running forward.
A couple of hours and many deer later, we were on our way back to (Y/N)’s place. She invited me over to spend some time together. She lived about 1 mile away from the Cullens; she told me that she appreciated them as much as she appreciated her own privacy and space, and they understood her need to spend time on her own.
She waited a few minutes for me to change back to my human form, giving me the space and privacy I needed. Though I had no issue changing in front of her, I thought it would still be too early for that. After shifting back to human and getting dressed, I came out of the woods.
She waited for me in front of her house. Her house was pretty big, a mix of dark wood and glass, making it extravagant but also warm and welcoming. Her very expensive car that I noticed in the clearing we "trained" a few days ago was parked in her driveway, along with a white silver Cadillac Escalade Hybrid.
She saw my wide eyes and overall shocked expression and laughed. “That is..my “more casual” car, you know, to drive around.” I gulped and nodded, as she motioned me to come into her house.
Matching its exterior, the interior also exuded a mix of luxury and warmth. There was a big bronze chandelier in the foyer, but it was nothing compared to the ones further into the house. At first glance, there was a huge living room, decorated with brown fabrics and furniture of different hues, enhancing the warmth. The kitchen was pretty big, especially considering there lived a vampire who didn’t need to cook. The counters, the cabinets, and the drawers were made out of white marble, in complete contrast to the living room. A wide wooden staircase led to the upper floor. My jaw was probably on the floor by now.
“I really like buying expensive things and such.” (Y/N) grinned at me, watching me turn around the place and take everything in.
“You must be pretty hungry, huh?” She looked at me, serious now, and my stomach growled in response. She smiled widely. “I have quite a few pizzas in the freezer if you don’t mind. I usually wouldn’t buy anything, but I thought that someone, or even you, would come over, so I went out yesterday and bought a few things. Would you be okay with that?” She looked unsure, waiting for my response.
I didn’t realize I hadn't said anything for a few minutes, until (Y/N) came in front of me. “Embry?” My name came so pure out of her mouth. “Are you okay? Are you feeling okay?” Her voice sounded concerned, as she examined my face for any signs that would “betray” a lack of wellbeing or something.
“Yeah, yeah, don’t worry about it. I just didn’t expect that you would go out of your way to make sure I ate if I ever came here.” I was indeed shocked, I didn’t lie.
“No, of course I would. I didn’t expect you to come over, but I just hoped you would.” She smiled, lowering her eyes to the floor.
I came closer to her and stroked her cheek lightly. She gasped slightly, but I felt her melt on my hand. My heart was beating so fast, pounding so loudly, full of love and nerves. I didn’t think about it twice before I leaned in and pecked her lips lightly.
I heard her gasping at my action, and I pulled away, worried that I scared her away. That wasn’t the case though, as she grabbed my neck carefully, afraid of her own strength, pulling me back to her and kissing me with more passion this time. The fireworks and stars I saw and the fire that was burning deep inside me were definitely not a part of any illusion. It was a reality - the reality we were currently living and experiencing together.
I captured her face between my hands and she swirled her hands around my shoulders and neck, keeping me close. She cooled down my nerves, and I set her body aflame. Even after we pulled away, we stayed close, foreheads touching, eyes closed, just feeling each other and relaxing under each other’s touch. (Y/N) was the first to speak.
“How about you go take a hot shower, and I’ll prepare the pizzas?”
She stroked my hair while looking me deep in the eyes and I just wished this moment would last forever. I was absolutely delighted and felt blessed to have met my imprint and mate for life. I couldn’t even remember what life was like before her, and I couldn’t even bear the thought that I would have never met if she wasn’t bitten and transformed into a vampire, over 100 years before me. I didn’t mean I was grateful for the vampire who bit her, or vampires in general, but I was grateful I had her.
“Okay.” The words barely came out of my mouth, before I kissed her once again.
“Let me help you.” She took my hand and guided me upstairs. She showed me the bathroom and brought me freshly-washed, fluffy towels, clear underwear, long jeans, a woolen t-shirt, socks, and slippers. I looked at her curiously.
“I bought a few things if you ever wanted to crash here.” She confessed, a kind of guilt on her face. I smiled widely and kissed her once again.
“Thank you, love.” She relaxed and smiled.
“Okay, now, go shower. Relax, have fun with the jet streams.” She winked before running downstairs. I chuckled at myself, and hopped in the shower, turning the jet streams on, and relaxing further into my thoughts.
----------------------------------------------------------
About half an hour later, I jumped off the shower, clean and relaxed. I quickly dried off and got dressed. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I would have never thought of being this happy in my life.
I didn’t have the best childhood. I never met my father; I never knew who my father even was, but I definitely knew he was a Quileute by now. My mom, however, was a Makah, an outsider of the Quileute tribe, so she didn’t know about the shape-shifters.
There were a lot of one-sided fights with her when I came home after a long night patrolling. She thought I was going through a rebellious stage, and I just let her believe that. Even Sam offered to tell her the truth about the Quileutes, but I refused. I couldn’t have her getting in trouble or hurt; it would be better if she didn’t know. I sighed deeply and slowly walked downstairs to meet with (Y/N).
(Y/N)’s POV
I didn’t mean to watch Embry’s head, but I couldn’t help it. All these images suddenly started flooding my mind; his mother yelling at him for being out of the house at odd hours, but him never yelling back at her, never revealing the real reason for his absence. He was thinking about all the times he asked his mother about his father, but she refused to say anything more and dismissed Embry’s inquiries.
Embry’s head was heavy with these dark thoughts, tangled and disorganized, reminding me of my own. His thoughts were all over the place; small images and scenes here and there like little flashes of memories.
I heard him coming down the stairs and tried to forget about everything for his own sake. In a minute, he entered the kitchen. He looked so beautiful, even a plain pair of jeans and a plain t-shirt. He was mesmerizing, his face calm, a small grin lighting up my world, and, if I hadn’t seen his thoughts, I would think that his head produced only happy thoughts.
Anyone who saw Embry, saw a quiet, reserved, but seemingly happy young man, not what I had just seen for myself. I decided not to talk about it; if he ever felt comfortable talking about it, he would, and I would wait for him, no pressure.
“Like what you see?” Embry grinned seductively. Cheeky bastard.
“I do, actually.” I leaned forward, over the counter standing in the middle of the kitchen, pressing my breasts against the surface. It only lasted for a few seconds, before I sat back straight, but it was enough for Embry to gulp down and his cheeks to turn red under his already tan skin, his eyes wide in shock. Two can play the game, babe.
“Well, come on, the pizzas are ready.” I acted as if nothing happened, and continued acting normal, taking the pizzas out of the oven before handing a plate to Embry from the nearby cabinet. He was standing close to me, watching my every move with a look of questioning.
“Are you okay? You seem as if something is bugging you.” I didn’t see a single image in his mind that could give me any clue as to why he looked concerned.
“I just have a question. It is a weird one, and you don’t have to answer it if you don’t feel comfortable. I suppose that’s personal, but I was just wondering.” I nodded at him to continue. “How did you come up with all this money? Like, I guess the Cullens are rich, Dr. Cullen is a doctor and they probably come from old wealth or something, but how did you afford to buy all these things?” He motioned around the house.
I sighed. “I actually waited for you to ask this question, eventually. First of all, I should let you know that most of Cullens’ money - if not 90-95% of it - comes from trading stock, bonds, foreign exchange, investments; Alice’s visions have helped A LOT. And, everything is legal. Nobody says that visions count as fraud; inside info does, but visions don’t. So..that’s their story. Mine is complicated. It is on the verge of being illegal but not really.”
“What do you mean “illegal”? What, like, you sell drugs or something?” He laughed but then, upon seeing my blank face he stopped. “YOU SELL DRUGS?” He plopped down on a chair.
“Yes, and no. I sell..candy, sugary sweets, gummy bears, anything really that is considered candy. But, I present them as “drugs” to people who I know are interested in buying drugs. I sell them the candy, which is regular candy, sugary and sweet, something a kid would eat. And then, I just stand nearby or a few kilometers away - it depends - and cause them to see illusions, so they actually think they are on drugs. The more they pay for a “drug”, the more intense illusions I create. Most of my regular clients are CEOs, CFOs, businessmen, investors, you name it. Usually, they will organize a party and “book” me in advance to provide them with “drugs”. I always make sure they pay half price in advance and half price when I arrive with the stuff so that I don’t get fooled.”
“Aren’t you afraid of getting caught? Isn’t it dangerous for these people?”
“Embry, I never, ever, present my true self to them. Again, I create an illusion of myself when I collaborate with them. And I am never the same person more than once; they actually think there is a whole network behind it. And, I always make sure they are safe and don’t take things too far. That’s why they “book” me. I’m like a designated babysitter for the “junkies”. I take all necessary precautions so that they have fun, don’t harass others, and don’t do things that will get them killed. It’s an extra paid service.”
“And that pays a lot, huh?”
“Everything you see around, and many more, have been purchased with this money. Though, I recently had Alice manage my money and invest them wherever she thinks it’d be profitable for me. You know, so I don’t risk getting caught, and actually start making money in a completely legal way. Though, I have to admit, I liked the small doses of danger, and the money was REALLY good.”
Embry looked skeptical. “Normally I would say that this still seemed illegal and it would be better for you to stop. But,..” He stood up from his chair and came closer to me. “...I also know that you must know what you’re doing by now, and you’re not doing anything that is more illegal than what your clients are doing. So, I think you should choose for yourself, see the pros and the cons, and see what would be better for you.” He wrapped his hands around me and held me against his hot chest.
“If I’m being honest, I have enough money by now to last me a lifetime - a human’s lifetime, maybe two or three. And..I think it is time to go legal. I think Alice’s idea was the right one. It will also give me a chance to be closer to her and the rest of the family - though I told her I didn’t want to take advantage of her gift, she assured me that I wouldn’t.” I sighed. There was a lot of pressure in my head, but Embry’s presence and touch actually managed to keep me calmer than usual.
“Can I ask you one more thing?”
“I guess it’s time to go deeper, so shoot away.”
“When you said it was easier to stay away from humans when feeding, did you ever actually kill people?”
“Well, I do have pretty good control over my thirst now. I still had to go through the newborn phase though, for a year or two. I killed many people, I couldn’t contain myself, until my gift started developing more, and I could see my ugly, scary side in their head. When I told you I can see what people are thinking..? I basically can see the images and illusions in someone's head - kind of like what Edward does, but he can actually read someone’s very thoughts at a specific moment. I can only see the images. So, I could see that I wasn’t who I wanted to be. I didn’t realize it at first. But I didn't want to be like the vampire who attacked me. I didn’t want to be that kind of monster. I know I am a monster, but I didn’t want to live at the expense of other humans. My life being taken away from me did not excuse me from taking other lives.”
Embry was speechless. He only had to squeeze me harder for me to understand that he was trying to sympathize with me. It couldn’t be easier for him when he first phased, and every other moment from that point on couldn’t be any easier. I had to leave my family behind for their own good. He has to live with who he is; he has to keep the secret from his own mother to protect her while going through her critical and vigilant gaze. She was certainly concerned for her son, but knowing about the shifters would most likely put her in great danger, and Embry could not risk that.
We have long forgotten the pizzas, but I reminded myself that the wolf had to eat, so I forced myself out of his arms. Embry looked upset as if I rejected him. “You MUST eat. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow.”
He nodded and grabbed a few slices, devouring them in under a minute, taking a few more on his plate. I looked amused at him; I never saw anyone eat so much so fast. Within ten minutes, he finished all five pizzas I had baked. He looked proud of himself, a wide smile spread across his face.
“You sure have an appetite!” I laughed at him.
“I could say the same about you.” He grinned back, reminding me of the fact that I did actually kill one mountain lion and about a dozen deer.
“Touché.” I laughed and I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me up in the air. I wrapped my legs around his waist and we just stayed there, foreheads against each other, eyes studying the other’s soul. He kissed me lightly and I could only feel happiness, my undead heart bursting with love, forgetting about everything and everyone.
Suddenly, my phone rang. We both sighed deeply. “Moment ruined.” I said disappointed, climbing out of Embry’s grip, and unwillingly picking up my phone. It was Alice.
“Alice? What happened?” I was worried. Alice did not just call without any reason.
“(Y/N). The newborns. They are coming earlier than we thought.” Alice was panicking by now.
“What do you mean “earlier”? How much earlier?”
“They may be arriving early in the morning, sometime after the sun has risen.”
“Are you sure? That’s like...” I checked the kitchen clock, it was already 11 pm by now. “...in less than 9 hours!”
“I’m positive. Edward and Bella just left. They will be camping in the mountains, where they had agreed. Jacob will probably be on his way there. The wolves will be getting ready by now. I called Sam. They will be staying away from the reservation tonight, just in case. Is Embry with you?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Okay, good. It will be better if he stayed with you for tonight. The further he is from the reservation right now, the better. The wolves don’t want to risk the safety of their families right now. Only Brady and Collin will stay behind, to make sure everyone back in the reservation is safe.”
“I understand. Thanks for calling, Alice. I’ll see you in the morning. Bye.” I hung up the phone and I turned to look at a shocked Embry, his jaw clenching. “Did you hear that?”
“Yeah.” He sighed deeply. “We’ll manage, (Y/N). Don’t worry. It doesn’t matter if it’s 9, 10, 12, or 15 hours. We’ll be good.”
I nodded. “Yeah.” I paused. “I hope so. Can..Can I ask you something?”
“Sure, whatever you need.”
“Can you communicate with the pack? You can use my phone. Tell them to come here. I have plenty of rooms for them to sleep in.”
He raised his eyebrow. “Are you sure? I mean, that’s kind of you, but, won’t the smell annoy you?”
“The smell will be fine. What matters now is that they are safe. They can’t stay in the woods. They need a good night’s sleep. Please, talk to them.”
“Okay.” Embry took my phone, dialing a number, and waiting for a reply. Finally, somebody picked up, and Embry was talking almost frantically to the other person. About 5 minutes later, he ended the call and gave me my phone back. “They’ll be here in a few minutes.”
“Good. I’ll go get things ready.” I pecked Embry’s lips and ran to turn the heater higher on and get pillows, bedsheets, covers, and blankets for the rooms. I also laid some hair, body, face, and feet towels, in case they wanted to have a bath or a shower.
Apart from my own, the house had four additional rooms that I used as guest rooms. When I bought the house, my thought was that the Cullens may be visiting someday and would like to stay over, so each pair could have their own room. Now, they will accommodate the wolf pack and I was just as happy as if it was family coming over. Well, technically, they were family - they were Embry’s family, so that would likely make me family too? I just hoped they saw me like family.
I finished getting everything ready, spraying some spray freshener around each room and through the corridors, to cover up my own scent. I said I wouldn’t mind their scent, which I wouldn’t, but I didn’t know how my own scent would make them feel, especially when it is spread all over the house. I just wanted them to sleep well, and rest; for tomorrow would be a tough day for all of us. I smelled and heard them quicker than I saw them, and I ran downstairs to stand next to Embry. He took my hand in his own, and we walked towards the door.
Opening the large entrance door, we were greeted by six tired and upset shifters - Sam, Jared, Paul, Quil, Leah, and Seth; though Quil and Seth were a bit happier to be there, compared to the others.
“Hey!” I greeted them, extending my hand to Sam, the Alpha of the pack. He looked at my hand, looked at Embry who nodded, and then, he shook my hand.
“Thank you for having us in your house. I hope we are not intruding.” He was careful with his words, his face serious and stern.
“Of course you are not! Please, do come in.” I motioned them to come further into the house, and they took small steps coming in. I smiled encouragingly. “I have prepared your rooms. Please, follow me.” I walked up the stairs, turning to the left corridor, them following behind.
“Unfortunately, some of you will have to share between you.” I informed them as we were walking through the corridor. “This room is for Sam. As the Alpha, he will be sleeping on his own.” Sam laughed at the others and thanked me. I continued to the next room.
“This room is for Jared and Paul.” Jared and Paul looked at each other and shrugged. “Don’t worry. All the beds are quite big, in case you have restless sleep, or just don’t want to be close to each other.” They barely hold their laughs. I had to admit, they were quite amusing.
“Next, this room is for Quil and Seth.” They turned to each other, and high-fived, smiling widely and howling.
I took them further into the corridor, to the biggest guestroom. “And, this last room is for Leah, to have some privacy away for the guys. I know what it feels like being the only girl surrounded by guys, and honestly, I couldn’t handle being surrounded by boys with extremely high hormones.” I turned to Leah, and I saw her smiling at me, mouthing a “Thank you”. I smiled back at her, I felt for her more than anyone.
“Also, as you may notice later, I have also laid some towels on your beds in case you wanted to have a shower, a bath, or use the jacuzzi.”
“THERE’S A JACUZZI?!” Jared, Quil, and Seth practically screamed. Sam turned to stare at them like how a disappointed parent would stare at his 5-year-olds who were causing trouble. Leah rolled her eyes, disappointed but also kind of expecting that. Paul and Embry couldn’t stop laughing. I tried to keep a straight face, stifling my laugh.
“Yeah, every room has a bathroom, equipped with a toilet, a sink, a shower, a bathtub, and a separate jacuzzi. You are also welcome to go anywhere around the house if you can’t really sleep, or if you feel like it. I don’t have anything prepared if you are hungry, but you may bake and eat anything from the freezer. If you need anything else, feel free to knock on my door or call me on my phone. It is written on the phone catalog, near the phone, on your bedside tables. And my room is across the hall, at the end of the corridor. I will leave you to it now. Have a good night's sleep.” I smiled, and they all said their goodnights, walking towards their rooms.
I took Embry’s hand in mine and led him to my own room. I opened the door, walking into the room. “You will be sleeping here tonight. Hope you don’t mind.” Embry was grinning, a wide smile spread across his face, radiating true happiness. He held me in his arms, squeezing me, his wide smile never leaving his face.
“I wouldn’t mind sleeping on a cement floor if it meant that I slept with you in my arms.”
“I could say the same. If I could sleep at all.” I laughed and he joined me. “Shhh, the others will hear us. I don’t want them to feel uncomfortable or weirded out.”
“They won’t, believe me. I think that you are the first vampire to warm up to them. Pun intended.” He laughed.
I lightly shoved him back, afraid to put too much force on him. “It’s time to sleep, mister. You have a long day ahead of you.”
“Only if you lay in my arms while I sleep.” He lightly swayed me around, as if we were dancing, and walked me towards the bed. He lied down, me sitting on his lap, each of my legs on each side. It was a very intimate moment but I knew that he had to rest well.
“We’ll have plenty of time for that. You now need to rest. Please.” I stroked his head, my fingers running through his thick hair, which shined even under the dim light that came through the windows, from the full moon in the sky. He sighed and I climbed out of his lap and sat on the bed. He took my hand and kissed it, making my insides melt and my eyes slightly stink with venom.
“You promise you will stay with me forever?” He looked me deep in the eyes, a mix of worry and seriousness in his voice. I looked startled but confident in my answer.
“I promise. You are the most important person in my life now. I won’t leave you, ever. But you have to promise you will stay alive tomorrow. For me, for your mom, for the pack, for the tribe.” There was a pause. Nothing was certain for tomorrow; no one knew what would happen, but we could only hope.
“I promise. I won’t leave you like that.” He shot me a small smile and he leaned in to kiss me lightly on the lips. I kissed him back, thinking that it may be our last kiss, but not wanting this thought to come true.
He slowly laid back on the bed, pulling me in his arms, and kissing me on my forehead. We laid there for a few minutes before his breaths started becoming more steady and heavy, indicating that he finally fell asleep. I looked at the beautiful man in front of me. I wished everything was different; that we met under different conditions; that we were free and careless.
“I promise you, when all this ends, I will take you anywhere, show you everything.” I whispered, kissing him on his cheek, him smiling in his sleep.
We talked for what felt like hours; Embry was telling me stories about the pack, their imprints, the shifting, and everything in between. I lifted a dome-like illusion around the house and the surrounding area, in case anyone came too close to us, and I closed my eyes, listening to Embry’s steady heartbeat, as he took deep breaths. This was the happiest I had ever been in my almost 153 years of life. I sank further into Embry’s arms and wished I could stay there forever.
----------------------------------------------------------
I didn’t realize how much time had passed until I opened my eyes. I was still in Embry’s arms, and thankfully, he was still asleep and really warm. He was breathing deeply and steadily, his lips slightly parted. I smiled at the sight; he looked so peaceful and pure, I couldn’t imagine him killing vampires. He seemed too good for me, for the world.
However, I couldn’t calm down, too nervous about what was going to happen today. I slipped away from Embry’s embrace, trying not to wake him up. I slowly stood up from the bed and looked at the clock on my bedside table. 3:45 am. Less than 4 hours away from the newborns’ arrival.
I grabbed my phone and ran quietly towards my bedroom door, opening it, and slipping away, trying to go undetected by the wolves who slept across the corridor. I ran down the stairs and out of the house. I fixed my brain on a decision I made on the spot, hoping both Alice and Edward would pick up on my actions.
I was worried we would not be able to realize the exact location of the newborns at all times, so I went out to make sure we had the upper hand in terms of time. That’s what I kept telling myself - the actual reason why I did this was actually more selfish. I wanted to know how many of them we’ll be dealing with; how many I would have to mess up with, mentally or physically. How many vampires I would have to fight off to keep Embry safe.
Alice saw the newborns coming out of the sea in her vision, so that was my lead. I assumed they would travel through the Quilcene Bay, which was right in the middle, between Seattle and our fighting location. The 70 miles that separated my house from the bay were nothing for me. I was mostly motivated by anger and protectiveness towards Embry - I had to know and warn the others.
I reached close to the bay and went up to a higher point, so I could watch everything around me better. I looked at my phone. 4:15 am. That was faster than I expected. I decided I would just sit here and wait. The clearing where the Cullens and the wolves chose for the fight to take place was about 35 miles away, which was still far away from Forks, and close enough to the mountains where Bella, Edward, and Jacob would be staying for the night.
My phone rang unexpectedly. I saw the caller ID. Alice.
“Hey, Alice. What’s going on?” I answered casually.
“(Y/N)! Where are you? Why did you leave your home?”
“Hey! Don’t worry. The wolves are safe.”
“You know I’m not worried about the wolves! Why are you after the newborns?”
“I just want to make sure we have the numbers. I need to make sure, Alice.”
Alice didn’t say anything for a while. “Okay. Just be careful, okay?”
“Okay. I will call you later. Just make sure the wolves are ready. I will break down the illusion when you are near. I’ll probably meet you at the clearing.”
“Okay. Bye, (Y/N).”
“Bye, Alice.” I ended the call and just waited, and waited.
It was almost 5 am, when I saw movement in the water. I leaned closer, trying to be careful to stay out of their way while watching them closely. I knew I would probably be the only one they wouldn’t be able to see, “blinding” their vision if they came close to me.
From Alice’s vision, I remembered about 15 or 20 newborns, but I guessed the number changed during this time. I was now staring at about 30 or 40 newborns, way more than what we expected. It was as if whoever created - I assumed the redhead everyone was talking about - did not just want to take down the Cullens, but the whole town of Forks.
They were walking rather than running, which I thought was odd for newborns, as most of us tend to run all the time at that stage of life. With this speed, they would probably arrive at the clearing in 2 and a half to 3 hours, just like Alice predicted. Hopefully, they would not come across any humans who would, inevitably, become their meal.
I ran away, towards the mountains and the clearing. I would warn the others when I went there, knowing they would have enough time to get prepared.
The table underneath you was frozen from the amount of stress you had been under. They just kept injecting things into you, hoping to get some kind of reaction from your body. You had stopped feeling the pain of the needle and experiments weeks ago, which just made everything worse for you in the long run. They were getting annoyed with the fact you had stopped reacting to whatever painful serum they had injected you with that day and it resulted in beating to get a reaction from you. You stared up at the cracked ceiling of your concrete room and counted each crack for the millionth time. You kept yourself company in your mind, getting lost in your thoughts to pass the time until your next beating. You shivered at the cold beneath you, the last serum made ice bleed from every one of your pores. You heard the shrill sound of the old iron door open from the side of the room, you didnt turn your head to see whoever came in anymore, they were all the same type of evil.
“Your wounds have healed very quickly, you are replicating the progress of our last soldier.” said the thick voice. You hated to think someone else had gone through this hell before you had. You wondered if they escaped or died before they moved onto you.
You felt a burn in the back of your throat, “What's on the menu today doc? Electro-therapy? Waterboarding? New superhuman power that causes injury to one of your minions?” The one fond memory in your head of this place, being your body set itself on fire as well as one of the more hostile minions of Hydra. You smirked fondly at the memory as the hydra doctor worked his way around you observing the healing process. Every wound that opened on your body disappeared within a couple of hours, which is apparently what they wanted.
“Nothing on the menu today, we are going to start to prepare you for the memory wipe.” Was all the man said and you felt your heart jump into your throat as the man chuckled, “You will do great things for us, American Girl.” You started pulling at your restraints for the first time in weeks, trying to fight your way off of the table once again. The man gave you a sickening chuckle while watching you struggle and you glared at him. He reached up to run a dirty hand slowly up your leg, “Such a pretty girl, such a shame you must-” He ended his sentence abruptly as you lit your body on fire, burning the man's flesh. You grinned at him as your body started to fizzle out. He held his burnt hand to his body and looked at you with rage, “You stupid slut.”
You continued to grin as he left the room, feeling somewhat accomplished. Your smile slowly faded as you thought back on the memories they would take from you. Y/N Y/L/N, you were a successful accountant in one of the most successful banks in Manhattan. You lived alone, you haven't spoken to your family since you lost your father. Your mom became an alcoholic after his death, the only thing you really regretted was leaving your little sister, Macy, behind. Your job would have already replaced you by now, and people would have stopped looking for you. You stopped fighting for an escape because you knew you had nothing to go back to.
-
You woke up slowly to the sound of soft snoring, your body tensed up, wondering who was in your bed. Then you realized this wasn't your bed when you looked up into the face of the sleeping soldier. Your body instantly relaxed as you lay your head back on his chest. His right arm was slung over your waist and his metal arm was holding your forearm against his stomach gently. You closed your eyes, replaying the events of the night before in your head. Hydra had come back for you, but for what reason? Then your eyes snapped open and you looked up at Bucky gently shaking him. He opened his eyes slowly and looked down at you, obviously confused about why he was holding you. Realization dawned on him and his eyes filled with concern, “You okay?”
“Y/L/N.” Was all you said to him as you continued to stare into his steel eyes.
“Who is that?” He asked, raising his eyebrow.
“I remembered my last name.” You said softly to him, “I remember my life before I was taken.”
He sat up quickly and looked into your eyes, “You remember now?” You nodded your head at him, unsure whether you should smile or cry. “Y/N, that's amazing.”
You looked away from him and sat back, “Is it?” you replied solemnly.
“Why wouldn't it be?” He tilted his head slightly, trying to read your thoughts. The sound of the door sliding open cut off your response as Steve came in. Steve stopped in the doorway and examined the scene in front of him. You were sitting to the side of Bucky, wearing his shirt with no pants on, with your legs strung across his thighs. Bucky had his metal hand resting against your calf and was leaning back against the headboard behind him. Bucky’s face turned a dark pink as he realized the situation before taking his hand off of your leg. You remained unphased as you looked over at Steve.
Steve watched you both and cleared his throat, “The safe house is all set up, can you both be ready by 0300?” You nodded at Steve, who glanced back at Bucky before leaving the room.
You both sat in silence for a moment before you crawled over bucky to the other side of the bed, his eyes perked up as he watched you unmoving, “Where are you going?”
“I have to pack my bag, don’t I?” You stood up and raised your arms above your head to stretch out your back.
Bucky started to climb out of the bed himself before he stood next to you, “I’ll go with you.” You laughed softly and chose to not object to his company. He followed you down the hallway to your room and you stopped in the doorway to survey the damage. Your bed hung off the side of the bed frame as if the mattress had been thrown. The drawers in your dresser were all thrown open and all of the clothes were spread around the room on the floor. You sighed quietly and started picking up articles of clothing. You searched around for the SHIELD duffle bag you had before shoving clothes into it. Bucky’s eyes raked across the room, he walked towards the bed and adjusted it to its correct position before picking up shirts and folding them neatly into the bed. You smiled slightly to yourself as you found a pair of leggings on the ground and started pulling them on and up over your thighs. You struggled slightly and then looked up to see Bucky staring at you.
He stilled, realizing he had been caught and looked down at the tee shirt in his hands, “Sorry, guess I got distracted.”
You laughed softly and patted him on the arm, “It's okay Buck, it's not like I don't stare at you sometimes.” You were unashamed of the confession. Sometimes while training you'll watch Bucky in the gym and sometimes, if you're lucky, you'll be able to see him lift his shirt up to wipe the sweat off his face. You would never apologize for that.
Bucky looked utterly confused as you packed the last of your things and zipped up your bag, throwing it over your shoulder. He stood up with you and looked down at you. You weren't a short person, you were taller than most girls but still shorter than all of the male avengers so you barely had to crane your neck up at him. His steel blue eyes looked so much lighter in the moment. You turned away from him and started walking towards the door, looking back at him. “Ready?” You asked him, raising an eyebrow.
  “Yeah, go meet with Steve, let me grab my bag.” You nodded at Bucky as you walked into the living area, ignoring the shattered glass on the floor you followed the voices to the kitchen.
“So she just hopped up on this man's shoulders and took him down like that?” Sam snapped his fingers together to get the point across, “Did Natatsha teach her that?”
Tony shook his head and bit the fingernail of his thumb, replaying the 30 second hallway footage from the night before, “Natasha hasn't moved past the basics of fighting with her, we have been focusing on figuring out what she can do power wise.” Steve stood silently with the three, his arms crossed watching the looped video.
Sam shook his head at the screen, “This chick is a total wildcard.”
You dropped your bag on the ground behind them making them all turn around quickly. You stared at the projection in front of you, you barely recognized yourself. You have never been able to put Sam on his ass in the ring and now you're swinging your body weight around on some random guy? The temperature dropped a couple of degrees in the room as a result of your anxiety. The three men stared at you as you took a step back, you made eye contact with Steve, “Y/L/N.”
Steve looked confused, “What? Who’s name is that?”
“Mine.” You said quietly, “My name is Y/N Y/L/N. I had a dream about it. I know my name.”
-
You sat at the table along with Steve and Sam. You were staring off at a wall while shoveling cereal into your mouth. You had only been at the tower for about two weeks now and had a good routine with the two men in front of you. You still didn't have a name. You have been going by kid, kiddo, chick, and rescue. You have been searching your brain for a hint of what your name would be. You tried making up names but none of them suited you the way you wanted it to. You listened to the two men bicker over different work out strategies. You stared off at the wall and thought about how you planned on changing your hair color to maybe platinum blonde. You reached out to grab your glass off the table and grunted when it wouldn't budge. You looked up at the two men staring at you with wide eyes before following their gaze to your hand. The liquid in the glass was frozen solid and the glass stuck to the table in a block. You removed your hand and looked at your palm, which was tinted blue, “Well that's new.”
Sam tapped on your frozen glass, “Holy shit, Elsa.” You rolled your eyes and rubbed your hands together trying to maintain heat.
Steve watched you, “Has this ever happened before?”
You shook your head and reached out to grab your glass again. Your strength became too much and the frozen glass shattered in your hand. You remained still as Sam hopped up from the table.
“Jesus fucking christ, kid.” Sam started picking up the larger pieces of glass
“Language.” Steve went into the other room to retrieve a handheld vacuum
You looked down at your hand and saw little cuts leaking blood in the palm, today just wasn't your day. You stood up from the table and walked over to the sink, running your hand under the water. You were getting really sick of this superpower thing. You have broken so many things so far due to the super strength you can’t control. You sighed as you watched the small cuts on your hand knit themselves back together, you would never get used to that. On the brightside, it didn't hurt. You have not felt the pain of anything you have broken or ran into, the only pain you ever felt was the headache that never went away. You dried your hand off and ran your fingers through your hair.
“Sorry guys… Still getting used to,” You held up your hands, “this.”
Steve smiled knowingly, “It's okay, kid. I remember when I received my serum, it took a minute to adjust.”
You gave him a small smile, “Why do you guys keep calling me kid?”
Sam and Steve looked at each other. Sam was the one who spoke first, “You don't really have a name right now.”
“Oh it's Y/N.” You shrugged at the guys and returned to your seat at the table as they stared at you.
“Did that just come to you?” Steve asked while looking at your seated figure, “It kind of suits you.”
“I think it's my name? It just came to me at the sink and its the only name that doesnt make me want to kill myself.” You smiled as the two men started chuckling at you.
“I think I will stick to ridiculous nicknames if you don't mind.” Sam said, smiling at you and ruffling your hair.
-
Tony wasted no time typing your name into the database to pull up a missing persons profile. A photo was pulled up onto the hologram screen and you silently stared at it. It was you, well at least a version of you. You looked so young, your face was effortlessly smooth with a light layer of makeup, and your mouth was pulled in an easy grin. Your hair was pulled back in a sleek low ponytail and you were wearing a white collared shirt with a blazer layered over it. You started into your eyes on the projection, it felt like looking at someone else.
“You were an accountant? That's boring.” Sam started while eye the photo of you
Tony scanned the photo and then started typing something into the projection. An article pulled up next to the photo, “Y/N Y/L/N, missing for two years, stopped coming into work and her apartment was empty… blah blah blah.”
“Tony.” Steve warned, coming to put a hand on your shoulder. You looked back at him before shaking off his hand and picking up your bag.
“We should go, right?” You ignored the look Steve gave you before you walked to Bucky’s room, knocking on the mangled door
Bucky met you at the threshold of the door, sensing your discomfort, “You okay, doll?” He raised an eyebrow at you
You raised your own eyebrow, “Doll?” Heat rushed to Bucky's cheeks and you smirked at him, “Grab your bag Buck, it's time to go.” You winked at him and turned away to walk to the elevator door. You rested your nag on the ground as you waited for Steve and Bucky to join you. You leaned back against the wall and sighed loudly, your headache returning.
The two men walked together side by side to meet up with you. Steve pressed the elevator button and debriefed you both about the agents who would escort you to the safe house. You and Bucky both nodded in understanding before stepping onto the elevator. Steve made eye contact with you before the doors completely shut.
“Be safe, kiddo.” You smiled at his words as the doors shut completely.
I can't even get on the ship wifi so I'm assuming this will go up very late. I am sorry about that! But I am having the best time. This trip has been so beautiful. I have been brought to tears many times. Including today. Today was a good day.
I slept pretty well last night. Getting up was hard but I was feeling pretty good. Today we visit Skagway and the ship has already docked. So there was no issue leaving. And by the time we were awake and dressed and heading to breakfast it wasnt super busy.
Breakfast was fine. I realized my tank top was a little more cropped when I realized and so after we ate I requested we go back to the room first so I could put on tights under my pants. This was the best move. I would be very cozy all day.
We headed out into town. We took the shuttle that this town has. But it only goes to the end of the on dock. Our driver was very sweet and made me laugh. I was really excited to see everything. This town is a gold mining town and there was lots of history to learn.
I was slightly disappointed that a few of the building that were historic were under construction. But that's alright. I enjoyed the ones available to us.
And there were great souvenirs to find. We have gotten pieces for everyone we wanted to. And a few things for us. I decided that I didn't need a jade piece. I prefer the abolone. But I ended up getting super anxious about the decision and that was hard. I had to take a minute because I was very stressed for literally no reason. It's that fear of missing out mixed with fear of regrets. James was my stability. And made me feel a lot better.
I really loved the historic stuff we read about. They had this amazing snow plow train that was insane looking. I would forget the mountains are there every once in a while and look up and literally gasp. It was so pretty.
In one of the stores we went on they had some really pretty gold charms but I didn't want to buy something so expensive. I enjoyed my chats with the man at the counter. And at another store I got some questions answered about what green stone is. Something we had seen in another museum. It isn't jade or malachite, it's just called green stone, it comes from the southwest, and it's spiritual. And those lovely ladies gave me some direction for my research.
In one of the store some nice girls suggested if we didn't have a planned excursion we should visit their sister store and rent electric bikes. I knew this would be a great idea. I knew we would y be able to experience the city in a better way.
James was a little unsure because of the cost. But the cheapest excursions start at $50 per person, and James loves bikes and this would be exciting and not hard because it's electric. So after a little more walking I told James that's what I wanted to do.
And it was perfect. I'm so glad we did it. We rented them for an hour, and the nice man gave us an extra 15 minutes. And it allowed us to go out to the gold miners cemetery which was super powerful. And then we took the short hike to an incredible waterfall. Which was also powerful in a different way. I love waterfalls.
I had to convince James to not climb into a cave. And then we went to watch the gold mine train for a minute. And then we took the bikes to the look out point the man we rented the bikes from suggested.
This was a little scary for me. I do not like going fast and these bikes went up to 25 mph a few times. But it got us up there fast. And it was worth the view. I got a little teary. It was beautiful and I was having so much fun. This is really the trip of a lifetime.
We had to take the bikes back soon after that. Those extra 15 minutes gave us more then enough time to bring them back on time. I did miss the street turn and I couldn't hear James over the wind. But we slowed down and we turned around and then dropped them off. I felt a little gitty I was in such a good mood.
We made another little loop around. I got the Tshirt I wanted. And then we went to a trail. But I only made it a little up the hill before I had to turn around. I felt really bad to cut it short but I was not strong enough. James said it was okay! I still felt bad but I knew it was going to wreck me to try to go up there.
Instead we took the pond path. I texted my brother. Service has been super spotty in this city but that is okay. I enjoyed seeing plants I wasn't familiar with. And just feeling the wind on my face.
I was getting tired though. My face was cold and my feet hurt. I was happy but I was ready to head back.
We would go and get the shuttle. And got back to the ship around 2. We took the elevator up to get lunch. I ate more of the same. It probably sounds boring but I am having the best time eating my favorite things for every meal. I had a salad and a grilled cheese and fries. We got a few cakes to try and share. And it was good to sit and watch the world. To absorb how stupid beautiful everything is. The world is so beautiful.
I started getting super tired. And so me and James went back to the room and I laid down for almost two hours. It was a very deep sleep. James tried to wake me up at one point and I was like. No. So they went and did our customs form down at the guest services desk. And when they came back I was getting up again.
We would head down to the card room and played war. Did the trivia. The card game from yesterday wasn't there but maybe next time it will be and we can play that. It was nice just playing quietly and being together. But I was having issues because I was itchy and thought going to get allergy medicine would help.
Before we left we chatted with the worker in the library about tomorrow. Apparently this is the first time they've done this itinerary, which is probably why the timing is all weird. But tomorrow we'll be in glacier bay and the park services is bringing people on board to talk to us because we aren't getting off. So it's like a tour but it's on the ship. Neat!
I felt really really itchy when we got back to the room. So after changing three times James suggested I take a shower and wait for the meds to kick in. And that did help. I'm still a little itchy but it's not so bad anymore.
We came up here to the lounge. And we've been reading and drawing. And soon the ship will start to move again.
And tomorrow it is a ship day. And I hope we can get a good seat on that outside area I found. I hope we see some wildlife. I'm really excited to see glaciers. James told me there are 1000 of them??? Incredible.
We're going to go eat some dinner now. I love you all. I hope you are safe and have been enjoying our journey!! Goodnight!!
Toxic Love Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Pairings: Steve Rogers x Reader, Bucky Barnes x Reader, Steve Rogers x Reader x Bucky Barnes
Summary: Finding out your soulmates were Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes was one thing.  But when someone from your past comes back to haunt you, you have to figure out if a relationship with two super soldiers is something you really want to pursue or if you’d rather go back to your comfortable single life.
Series Warnings:  18+, Swearing, Angst, Fluff, past mentions of rape, self-harm, attempted rape, domestic violence, stalking, death threats, possible Dark!Steve?, Steve will be an asshole a LOT in this series but I don’t know how dark it will get, explicit sexual content, mental health issues, kind of A/B/O dynamics but not really (no they are not actual wolves, more like the hierarchy)
A/N: There will be no taglist for this story!  I apologize in advance!
So it was true.  Confirmed.  Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes were your soulmates.  Not that it bothered you much, it just wasn’t something you were planning on happening.  Things didn’t end too good with your last, well, and only, boyfriend.  Not ending good meaning he was in prison, at the moment. You weren’t sure when he was going to be getting out.
Looking down at your arm, you lightly traced your finger over Steve and Bucky’s mark.  Here is the thing about your soulmate marks. Everyone has soulmate marks, at least two; yours and your soulmates.  But sometimes there are more and everyone has an ‘order’ for their marks. Think of it as a hierarchy.  The mark in top is in charge, kind of like the ‘alpha’ of the relationship while the mark at the bottom is at the bottom of the hierarchy.  It would make sense that Steve’s mark was on the top.  Hell, he was Captain America after all.  It just was the way it was and nobody complained about it.
There was also another unique trait to finding your soulmates, at least what you’ve read about. Once you find your soulmate, or in your case, soulmates, slowly you can begin to feel each other, kind of like a sixth sense or intuition.  You’d never known anyone who could actually be able to do this and you didn’t know if there had to be somewhat of a strong bond between soulmates, but you always thought that was pretty cool.  Like if something ever bad happened to you, maybe you soulmates could sense your fear. But then again, maybe that was just a fairytale.
Lost again in your own mind, like you always were when Steve’s rough voice brought you back to the present. “Let’s sit down and talk,” he bellowed.
On shaky feet you followed him towards the couches and sat down.  Steve stood on the other side of the coffee table, his thick arms crossed in front of his chest.  Your eyes roamed over his form, mouth going dry at the sight of him.  The scowl on his face nearly made you coil back, as if his look burned you.  You were unsure why he looked so pissed, so angry and you didn’t know if you wanted to figure it out or not.  The biggest thought weighing on your mind was if you wanted to go through with a relationship at all right now, even if they were your soulmates.
The couch dipped next to you and you couldn’t help but return Bucky’s smile.  Something about his smile made him look innocent, angelic, but you knew he was far from that.  Oh yes, you heard all about the Winter Soldier and everything those Hydra bastards did to him.  But you also knew that he was better now, he was an Avenger, fighting for the right side.
“So,” you began to say, the silence and tension thick in the air as you stared down at the ground.
“What’s your name?” Steve barked out, causing you to jump slightly.
A rough yet gently hand was placed at your back and you quickly realized it was Bucky’s.  “Jesus Stevie, can you be any more of an asshole right now?” came Bucky’s reply as his hand soothed up and down your back.
He was right, Steve was being an asshole, but it was nothing, absolutely nothing compared to your ex-boyfriend.  This was a cake walk compared to him.  “Y/N, my name is Y/N,” you replied as confidentially as you could, trying to show Steve that you weren’t afraid of him or scared of his intimidating tactics.
“Well Y/N, I’m Steve and that’s Bucky but I’m guessing you already knew that,” he replied, letting out a huff of annoyance as he looked at his watch.  “Look, I don’t have a lot of time for this right now so let’s just get to the basics,” he began.  “This is mine and Bucky’s living quarters.  There is another bedroom down the hallway if you want to move in. There is a communal kitchen and living room a few floors down that we all share, including the other soulmates. Most of the time we all eat together when possible and do movie nights at least once a week in the communal area. If you want to move in, you will also have a hobby room on the communal floor just like everybody else.  So what do you say?”
Well, it wasn’t the best speech you’ve ever heard from someone trying to get you to move in with them. Hell, your ex-boyfriend wooed you with flowers and romance for months before you finally gave in.  But this wasn’t your ex-boyfriend.  This was your soulmate, both of them, but you were still unsure.  Your own apartment was calling your name, wanting you to come back to the safety and comfort that was your home.  Did you really want to just up and move in with your soulmates?  Most people did once they met their soulmates, but you were still teetering on the fence.  This was the Avengers Tower after all and what place could possibly be more safe than that?
“Umm, can I…can I think about it?” you questioned, eyes slowly glancing up to meet Steve’s.
His large hands were on his narrow hips, his mouth in a tight line.  “Fine.  Do what you need to do.  I have to get back to work.”  And with that being said, he marched over to the elevator and slammed the button.
You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding when Steve disappeared into the elevator, leaving you alone with Bucky.
“Come on doll, I’ll bring you home,” he spoke with a soft voice.
Looking to him, you smiled. “Thanks Bucky, but you don’t have to. I only live about a mile away.”
His whole body shook with a quiet laugh.  “I don’t think so.  No soulmate of mine is going to be walking the streets of New York at dark.”
~~~
The walk home was nice. Bucky was a gentleman as you asked him questions about his life growing up and being with Steve.  As it turns out, Steve and Bucky weren’t lovers, just best friends, more like brothers.  You felt embarrassed after you found that out, assuming they were together, but he reassured you it was fine and that it happens all the time.  You always assumed if there was more than one soulmate, everyone was together intimately, but now you knew that wasn’t the case.  Those with multiple soulmates didn’t mean everyone was intimate.  They could be a brother figure, a mother or father figure, or just best friends.  But you had a feeling that wasn’t going to be the case with you if you decided to give this relationship a try.  No, you could feel deep inside that things would be intimate with both men.
“I don’t think Steve likes me very much,” you blurted out like word vomit.
Bucky sighed next to you as the two of you stopped in front of your door.  “I know Steve wasn’t on his best behavior tonight and I apologize for that.  He’s been stressed because he keeps getting new leads about someone but it keeps falling through.  Steve can be an asshole, but he isn’t normally like that.  It was just bad timing is all.  Please be open minded about this and give it a few days.  Why don’t you come back to the tower on Friday night and we can discuss what you decide?”
Friday night was two days away.  Two days to think about everything.  “I think I can manage that,” you agreed with a small grin.
Bucky smiled back, giving you a nod and wishing you a good night.
In the safety of your apartment, the first thing you did was grab a glass of water and dig your medications out of your purse.  Placing the pills in your mouth, you swallowed a gulp of water and sighed in relief.
The next thing you did was take off your clothes and get into your comfies; a pair of shorts and a loose t-shirt, your favorite combination.
Lastly, you dropped onto your bed and stared at the ceiling, contemplating what you were going to do. Yes, Steve was being a douche bag tonight, but you could handle that.  Words and attitude were easy to deal with as your ex-boyfriend was that way. But that wasn’t all.  He had turned into a violent monster and you were lucky to get out when you did; you knew for a fact you wouldn’t be alive today if you were still with him.
So yes, you caught Steve at a bad time and he was a douchebag, but you would give him the benefit of the doubt.  Not the greatest first impression but you could get over it.
At the same time, is a relationship, not just with one person but two, something you were really ready for?  You rather enjoyed your single life.  Going to bed when you wanted and staying up as late as you could.  There were usually rules that were enforced when it came to soulmates, especially if you were at the bottom.  Usually the ‘alpha’ of the relationship had rules they wanted their soulmate to oblige and you didn’t know how stern those rules could be.  But you hoped you could also compromise those rules if needed.
Just then, a sheet of paper slid under your door and you rolled your eyes.  You knew what it was before you even got out of bed to grab it.
Taking the paper in your hands, you went back to your bed and opened the note.
Payback is a bitch.  Just like you.  Ready or not, here I come babe.
-J
Rolling your eyes, you dug beneath your bed and pulled out a small box.  Inside the box sat 15 other notes just like the one you received.  It was from your ex.  John was still in prison, this much you knew, so it was a friend of his dropping it off.  But you knew you were safe, for the time being, as long as John was in prison.  He was too proud to let anyone else do the damage he had done to you.  Oh yes, he liked to do it himself and you knew he wouldn’t let anyone else hurt you, except for him.
You had gone to the police about the notes, but because there was no actual evidence and he was still in prison, nothing could be done about it.
As you looked over the multiple notes with the same kind of threats on each, you thought maybe perhaps it would be a good idea to move into the Avengers Tower.  At least you would stop getting these threats….right?
