Ok but I need a post canon, Arthur returns, slow burn, Merthur, kind of fic where we can acompany our beloved king through the different stages of grief he will go through when Merlin tells him he's been dead for over 1500 years so he lost his kingdom, knights, friends and wife. A fic where we can see Merlin introducing Arthur to the 21st century and its technology that he insists is just magic, Mer-lin, I know it, I'm no fool. I know magic when I see it. A fic where we can see Arthur still struggling to fully trust on Merlin again because yes, he forgave him and he doesn't really care about the magic (except he does because Merlin's eyes look so beautiful when they are gold and where did that come from, Arthur Pendragon? Merlin, beautiful? Ha! The clotpole must've been right when he told you you shouldn't drink a third cup of that dark, strong, addictive beverage) but he still can't get over all the years of constant lies and deceiving, and Merlin feels guilty af so he tries to win his trust once again day by day and keep the promise he made to himself that day he finally confessed his magic to Arthur to not lie to him ever again. A fic full of fluffy moments between merthur where we can see them fall for each other harder slowly but surely until one day, after 3 or 4 months since Arthur came back, he finally kisses Merlin. And then they kiss some more. And more. And they are so happy grinning like idiots between kisses because finally they are on the same page. And everything is perfect. And Arthur suddenly loses his shirt somehow and things are getting heated although everything is still so soft and sweet and tentative. And then the doorbell rings. They ignore it at first, Arthur's orders, but the person behind the door is insistent so they have to stop so Merlin can go and see who it is. And when he finally opens the door, his jaw almost hit the floor because the person in front of him is no other than the fucking Queen of Camelot, his first and beloved friend, Guinevere Pendragon, the long ago dead widow of Arthur Pendragon, king of Camelot, whom he's been making out with seconds ago. And then everything goes downhill coz Gwen sees her husband and Arthur is so shocked to see her again and then they are hugging and smiling and kissing and glowing with happiness and then there's Merlin, with tears in his eyes as he sees them reunite again. As he sees Arthur reunited with his true love. And when the king finally takes a moment to process everything that is happening while having Guinevere laughing crying in his arms, his eyes find Merlin, his Merlin, the one he had in his arms minutes ago and everything comes crashing. Reality hits him so hard he can't even breathe for a second. Because he was happy with Merlin and even though he hadn't yet admitted it out loud, he knew, deep in his soul, that he was in love with him, but then Guinevere is back! His beautiful, amazing, sweet and wonderful queen who he loves with all his heart is back from the death and how is that even possible???

Phew! A fic full of drama and angst and hurt/comfort and tough decisions that Arthur will have to make eventually because he loves them both, but he only can have one and that is breaking him apart because he is a righteous man at heart and he knows that as a married man, his choice should be clear as water, but his soul is screaming at him because it wants something else, someone else, and he doesn't know what to do as he knows whatever he decides, one of the two people he loves the most in his life will end up brokenhearted. But life is unfair and cruel to everyone. Even to legendary kings.

You opened your eyes and took a minute to look at yourself in the mirror. You were wearing a long white dress, your wedding dress, but that wasn’t what you were noticing. It was your wedding day, but instead of having a smile on your face, your face was neutral.

You and Arthur had known each other forever and he was your fist everything: first crush, first kiss, first boyfriend, first time… You loved him. Screw that, you were in love with him. You had known that ever since he grabbed your hand for the first time, while helping you learn how to hold a sword. And Arthur had once loved you too, years ago. But you couldn’t deny what was in front of you: Arthur was in love with Guinevere.

Gwen was Morgana’s servant, but she was so much more than that to Arthur, and anyone who couldn’t see that was blind. You had tried to deny it, but deep down you knew Arthur would never look at you the way he looked at her. You wanted this marriage to work, but you didn’t want to be trapped in a marriage with someone who wasn’t fully committed to you just for the sake of both kingdoms.

Your thoughts were interrupted by two loud voices outside of your bedroom. You immediately recognized one as Arthur, who was screaming at someone, who you were pretty sure was Merlin. Your suspects were confirmed when you heard Merlin, who sounded annoyed at Arthur, has per usual. You heard a loud knock on the door, and more complaints from Arthur outside.

“Come in!” You yelled, taking a deep breath. You didn’t know who to expect: Merlin or Arthur. Merlin quickly opened the door, ordering Arthur to stay outside. “Merlin, hello. Do you need something?”

“y/n, you look absolutely gorgeous.” You gave him a kind smile and walked closer to him. “Arthur wants to talk to you, and I was just explaining how it’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. But he won’t shut up about it, so I insisted on talking to you before.” You chuckled at Merlin’s tone.

“Let him in, Merlin. I needed to see him, anyway. Oh, and thank you for checking in. It was really nice of you.” He nodded at you and walked out the room, glancing at Arthur before doing so. Arthur walked in, his hands covering his eyes so he wouldn’t see you. He walked against a mobile, letting out a grunt. You laughed at him and walked over to him, in order to help him. “You do know you can open your eyes, right?”

“Merlin said it gives bad luck. I don’t this wedding to be cursed or something.” Your smiled faded as quickly as it had appeared, and you turned around, not wanting to face him. You knew you had to say something. “Wow. You look dashing, y/n. I mean, you always look amazing, but now… just wow.” Normally, you would have smiled or blushed at what he said, but you couldn’t. Not when you were about to call off your wedding. Not when you were about to lose the love of your life. “Are you doing alright? You don’t look okay. Was it something I said?”

“Arthur, I love you.” You blurred out, knowing that it was one of the last times you’d say it.

“I know. I love you too, y/n. For god’s sake, I’m about to marry you.” You sighed and turned to look at him. He just didn’t understand. Boys were so obvious.

“But you’re not in love with me, right?” Your voice was staring to break, showing how you felt inside. Broken. He opened his mouth, but you continued speaking before he could. “Don’t try to deny it, Arthur. I know it. I see the way you look at Gwen. You have never looked at me that way…”

“y/n, where is this coming from? We are about to get married! I proposed to you! I… I love you. Ever since we were kids.” He tried to grab your hand, but you stopped him. He raised his eyebrows, surprised at the move. You had never done something like that before.

“You didn’t answer my question. Are you in love with me? Do you think about me day and night? Do you wait all day to fall asleep next to me? Do you feel like you can’t breath every time I’m around you? Are you in love with me like I am in love with you, Arthur?” He stayed quiet, not knowing exactly how to answer. You took that has a no. “Of course not… how could I have been so stupid?! It was always Gwen, wasn’t it?”

“y/n, I promise you, I can forget about her. I can fall in love with you!” This time he did grab your hand, firmly, so you couldn’t stop him. “Please, don’t do what I think you’re about to do.”

“You have left me with no choice, Arthur… I’m calling off this wedding.” He looked at you in disbelief, still assimilating those words.

“No.” That was the only word that left his mouth. A simple no. You scoffed, shaking your head. He didn’t even bother to fight for you, he didn’t make that effort. “I don’t want you to do this… I can fix this.”

“There’s nothing here to fix! Love isn’t supposed to be one sided, Arthur. I don’t want to keep you in a marriage where you’ll be unhappy. Not when I’ve spent my whole life loving you. It’s not fair to you, but mostly, it isn’t fair to me.”

“I don’t want you to hate me, y/n. I never meant to hurt you. I mean this. I really wish I could fall in love with you and not feel the way I feel about Gwen…” You nodded, a sad smile on your face. Your eyes were tearing up, tears slowly rolling down your cheeks.

“I know. And I could never possibly hate you, Arthur. Now go find Gwen. Give her the big news. I’ll ask Merlin to tell the king that I called off the wedding.” Arthur hugged you, something you weren’t expecting, but it was well taken nonetheless. You hugged him back, tears falling on his shirt. He stepped back and gave you one final look, before rushing out. And just like that, you saw the love of your life walk away, taking a part of you with him.

King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword

Arthur was on a ship to the sword in the stone. He could only think about his daughter as he travelled on the boat, looking ahead to where he needed to get off.

He made a scene when he pulled the sword out as he fainted because of the power the sword held.

When he awoke, his uncle was there to greet him. He spoke about what Arthur could have been like if he had been brought up in the castle as a 'true' prince of Camelot. Arthur didn't care as if he did; then he would have never got to have his sweet little girl, y/n. He was told not to take the sword up when it was placed in front of him. The girls from the brothel were there; one was slaughtered in front of him to show him that the rest would be next if he did not do as he was told.

The revolution rescued him.

However, when they wanted him to fight and use the sword. He collapsed from the power and began to have a memory from the past in the form of a nightmare.

He went to the dark lands and didn't know that Backlack, Wet-stick and Blue were making their way to the revelation base with his beloved little girl, y/n. When he awoke from the trance, he was on a boat back to the revolution base.

He was told the legend of Pendragon's bloodline and how they were connected to the sword. Backlack, Wet-stick and Blue greeted him when he returned, and he asked what happened to everyone.

They explained that everything got burnt down; half the people got killed. When he asked about y/n, Backlack left and soon came back with a sleeping three-year-old in his arms. He put his arms out to hold her while he was sitting down. Backlack gave her to him straight away, and Arthur watched her sleep while he could.

He looked towards the two men in the room with him and said he would kill his uncle for what he had done to the families and what he had put his y/n through.

They burnt his favourite palace down, stopped his supply of enslaved people and sunk his stone barges and blocked the river. Now he was planning an attempt on his uncle's life.

When they were going through with the assassination of the 'king', he kept y/n at the base where he thought it was the safest place for her with the girls that raised them. When he got back, he held y/n as close as possible. Blue slept beside her as he dealt with the grief of losing his dad.

He road of believing he wasn't fit to be a king, not realising that he had put Blue, y/n, the mage and everyone at the base in danger.

When they were in prison, Blue kept it quiet that y/n was the heir after Arthur if he died. He didn't want Vortigern to hurt her. They thought that y/n was Blue's sister as that is what he had told them.

Arthur rescued the Mage first as she could help him to save everyone in Camelot. When speaking to his uncle, he said one last thing before defending him that would hunt his uncle's final minutes of living.

"You would never have got the sword as..." he paused. "I have a child who would someday have killed you if I didn't."

When the battle was over, the first thing he did was look for y/n. When he found her, she was cuddled up to Blue, who kept her as warm as he could. Blue smiled when he saw Arthur and pointed him out to y/n, who looked towards him, and a massive grin made its way onto her face as she ran towards him.

They put their dead to rest.

Arthur knighted the round table knights.

It was Arthur's coronation meaning little y/n's as well. They crowned Arthur King and y/n as the crown princess. She had to be picked up so everyone could see their princess and future ruler of the kingdom. When they returned to the castle, y/n asked Arthur and his knights to play. They agreed as they had been working none stop since the end of the war.

Arthur got a slightly tight hold on her and cuddled her close to his chest before y/n could start another game as they had finished.

"I love you, y/n." Arthur told her as he kissed her forehead.

"I love you too, daddy!" Y/n said with lots of excitement, then kissed his nose while holding his checks and smiling a big grin.

He smiled lovingly at her and then asked her what she wanted to play with before her nap. She grinned and then looked towards Blue, who already knew what game she wanted to play. They had lots more fun while defending the kingdom from any threats.

merthur fanfic prompt cause duh im unhinged

inspired by the line “i realized, there’s not a lot of space in my life for good things.” in the dragonlord’s son by yulianahenderson

and it made me think of merlin saying:

“if i have you, i cant have anyone else. if i have everyone else, i cant have you.” (super sadly; maybe after magic reveal/confession, good reaction, and merlin’s explanation)

i think after all this, arthur would lift the ban on magic and constantly remind merlin that he’s never alone, that he can be there with everyone else merlin loves, even bringing hunith to camelot and offering for her to stay as long as she likes.

once merlin realizes what arthur’s doing and how he keeps trying and won’t give up, he starts to accept that maybe this is his golden age.

arthur sees merlin finally accepting that maybe he can have it all and he’s so happy for his warlock.

a few months after the ban was lifted and merlin has been more content, arthur asks if merlin will be his court warlock (because “yes merlin, i know you’re not a sorcerer, i do listen to you sometimes”)

about a week after the ceremony instating merlin as court warlock, arthur tells merlin the real reason why he tried so hard to make merlin realize he could have everyone he loved and still keep arthur.

“i’m in love with you, merlin. you mean everything to me and it pained me to see you so sad. to think that you couldn’t have me and your friends, family, all together. i love you more than words can say and your happiness means more to me than you’ll ever know. you need your friends and family, and i need you. i know you don’t feel the same wa-“

arthur is cut off with merlin’s lips on his, his hands immediately wrapping around the warlocks waist. merlin’s arms wrapped around his shoulders and fingers running through his golden hair.

as fast as it started, it ends.

“thank you, arthur. thank you for not giving up on me,” merlin’s lips brush against arthur’s as he whispers. “i love you. i love you. i love you,” merlin mumbles between kisses, arthur just happy to have merlin this close.

merlin leans away, keeping his arms around his kings neck, the most content he’s ever looked.

“i love you, arthur pendragon. i’m so in love with you,” tears begin to fall from merlin’s eyes. “i love you with all i am.”

merlin lunges to catch arthur in a searing kiss, desperate to be as close to his king as possible.

So this Rin comes from a bad end HF timeline where Sakura is dead, and because she couldn't cope with losing her (no matter how much she convinced herself she could) she becomes a servant in hopes of getting summoned into a HGW to revive her Sakura.

I can’t with this man Goodbye, Arthur Pendragon / chapter 17, part 2 / the wedding vows

(A side-note, but: it’s Arthur’s wedding vows that really hammered home for me just how tragic it would be for him to lose Guinevere to Lancelot, more than the other way around. In Lancelot’s case, the only thing stopping them from finding love at the start of the story was their own inhibitions – and even if Guinevere doesn’t choose them in the end, the fact that she broke down their walls & opened them up to love is a positive outcome, a gift that they will always carry with them & that gives them hope for finding someone in the future. But in Arthur’s case? Arthur has no trouble loving – if anything, he loves too hard, and too fast. Arthur’s trouble is that he is bound by duty to marry for the sake of Camelot, to choose a wife who will make a good queen & a good alliance above a wife whom he loves, or who loves him back. He was unbelievably lucky that his first betrothed, Guinevere, even came close to being a love match for him, and – that type of luck doesn’t really happen twice. Plus, if Guinevere doesn’t choose Arthur, then he never really gets to reach the realisations above. He never really gets to believe that he can follow both his duty & his heart, because the one time he tried, he got stopped in his tracks. Everything he told Guinevere about feeling lonely despite being surrounded by people, wishing he could share the burden of the crown, longing for a partner who would truly understand him – all of that still applies to him, and his way out of it is even less clear than it was before. It’s an absolutely heartbreaking outcome for Arthur, and perhaps the worst part is that he takes it with so much grace, as if he always semi-expected it. He always semi-felt like Guinevere was too good to be true, or like he didn’t deserve her. And I am so, so grateful that, in at least some playthroughs, we get to tell him that he does 🥺).

A/n: silly little drabble that I wrote the other night 💖

You and I walk a fragile line

I have known it all this time

But I never thought I'd live to see it break

Morgana would sit at the end of the long table and watch his brother eat. She would observe him tear the meat with his sharp teeth and ask herself if, one day, she would be the meat on his plate, if one day, her brother would hang her on the wall amongst the other beast he had slaughtered.

“Is there something wrong, sister?” Arthur cleaned his mouth with his cloth.

Every movement was carefully chosen to not upset him.

“Of course not, brother” she smiled.

It's getting dark and it's all too quiet

And I can't trust anything now

And it's coming over you like it's all a big mistake

Morgana rushed to her room. She wanted to be there before the tears that were burning her eyes would fall. Merlin had rejected her request for help once more. She needed his help to remind her brother that magical creatures weren’t dangerous but the wizard ignored her once again. She wondered when the old man had forgotten what he was. What it meant to be a wizard in a place like Camelot.

In the darkness of her chambers, Morgana cried. Cried like never before. Whatever was the outcome of this war she would lose.

Morgana felt the cold metal slice her hand. She looked down hoping that it was all her imagination, that their game was taken a little too far and soon they would be called for supper but she was wrong.

Suddenly, the world slowed down. A scream erupted from her chest. Her arm wouldn’t stop bleeding, her hand was no longer there.

She looked at her brother with the same disdain he had seen her all those years as she took a step back.

Stood there and watched you walk away

“No” he screamed, tears falling from his eyes.

His sister fell from the cliff, her head hitting the ground making a noise Arthur would never forget.

Three Good Punches

Arthur Pendragon, King of Camelot, wielder of Excalibur, and general possessor of far more chill than any reasonable man should have, would never punch someone in the face and begin hollering profanity at the top of his lungs.

Guinevere, Queen of Camelot, most beautiful woman in the world, possessor of exactly zero chill, was completely willing to punch someone in the face and begin hollering profanity at the top of her lungs.

Merlin, the Wizard of Camelot, the Old Dragon, he of Many Many Many Ugly Shirts, was not at all expecting to get punched in the face.

“So, just asking, out of curiosity and all,” Bors said as he, Lancelot, and Hector watched their queen very eagerly take to beating the snot out of their wizard with her bare hands. “Does she remember who she is?”

“This morning, I would have said no,” Lancelot said, entirely impressed by his both his queen’s ability to lay a man flat with a single punch, and also with her cursing. “But really, nobody reacts to the Wizard like that unless they know who he is.”

“That was a good punch,” Hector agreed, also a fan of punching and cursing, particularly when they were combined. “Very good. You said she does some kind of fighting?”

“Mixed martial arts,” Lancelot said, inappropriately entranced by his still-shouting queen, and his king who gave every indication of ignoring the ruckus. Instead, he was rummaging through the truck he and Guinevere shared. It held all sorts of things. Lancelot hadn’t been brave enough to try and sit in it. Between their wandering hands and Merlin’s threats, he thought it would be safer to remain in his own vehicle. “She competes. Apparently she also remembers enough of the Wizard to hold a fairly significant grudge.”

“Think she’ll show me how to land a hit on the Wizard? I haven’t managed in centuries.”

“I think you have to be the absolute last person he expects to punch him to get close enough.”

Not that Lancelot hadn’t tried himself over the years, but Merlin knew better than to let Lance get close enough to stab him. Killing Merlin was fairly high on Lancelot’s bucket list, and since he couldn’t die, that generally meant he had done most everything he wanted to do already.

Well, he hadn’t slept with Guinevere and Arthur, but that was because of serious threats to his person, not because he didn’t want to do it. From the looks of things, he now had a proper invitation into the royal bed, issued by both parties involved. Once he got them alone, and maybe found out whether the Wizard planned to light him on fire if it was Arthur who carried him off to bed, he planned to take them up on their invitation.

To be honest, watching Guinevere punch Merlin was almost as good as a proper roll in the hay.

Of course, she didn’t get more than the first three punches in before Merlin, now sporting what would be a very impressive black eye in a few hours, turned himself to mist. That didn’t stop Guinevere, who didn’t lose a beat in her profanity, and took to throwing whatever came to hand at the insubstantial wizard.

Merlin was looking suitably astonished, which was a frankly gratifying expression. Nobody had punched him in centuries, and Guinevere managed not one, but three magnificent punches before he got away from her.

“And one more thing!” Guinevere continued at volume, still railing at the Wizard with no bother at all for whatever her husband was doing in their truck. “If we want to bang Lancelot like a screen door in a hurricane, that is our prerogative, not yours!”

Lancelot flushed all the way down to his collarbones as all of the other Knights turned to stare at him with expressions ranging from scandalized (Galahad) to delighted (Bors) to reluctantly approving (Pellinore). He gave a little half-shrug and raised his hands defensively.

“The wizard said he would light me on fire if I stuck my sausage in the royal pantry again!” he protested, too stunned by Guinevere’s declaration to have any verbal filter at all. “I kept my hands and all my other parts to myself!”

“Despite our best efforts,” Arthur said mildly, and emerged from the truck at last. He was still turned away from them, but when he turned back, Lancelot’s mouth dropped open, and even the Wizard was shocked enough to turn physical again. Guinevere immediately advanced on him, a decidedly punchy look in her eye.  Merlin saw her coming and promptly turned back to mist. “What?”

“Excalibur,” Lancelot croaked, struck utterly dumb by the sight of his king, clad in modern clothes but with his ancient sword on his hip once more. “How-“

“What?” Arthur asked, and then looked down at the sword on his hip. “Oh. The Lady threw it at me. Landed in a boulder when we were… uh…”

“Playing ‘hide the royal sausage’ by the edge of a lake,” Guinevere said with a poisonous glare at Merlin, who very sensibly took a defensive step away from her. “Turns out, when Arthur pulled the Sword from the Stone, we pretty immediately remembered all about who we used to be. Can we safely assume you all know who you actually are?”

“We’re not reincarnations, my queen.” Tristan had been a prince and he could still pass for diplomatic when the mood took him. He did stay well out of punching range of Guinevere, but to be fair, her wrath seemed specifically directed at Merlin and nobody else. “We had a run-in with the Holy Grail. It left us all somewhat immortal.”

“We regenerate,” Kay offered with a disapproving glare. He didn’t like the wizard, but he also didn’t think much of Guinevere. Bevidere rested a hand on his shoulder and Kay relented, just a little. “Welcome back, Your Majesties. You have been missed.”

“Thank you, Kay,” Arthur said and looked around at them, his Knights, who had been waiting so long for his return. “I admit, when we met Lancelot in Wales, we hardly dared to hope that his gathering of Knights would be the true Knights of the Round Table, but I am glad to see you, nonetheless. Now, my Knights, I suggest we find somewhere with good food and better drink, so you might catch us up on all we’ve missed these long years.”

A retelling of Morgan le Fay? Sign me up. The story follows Morgan’s early life as a misunderstood but magical woman who is dealing with not only a difficult family situation but a forbidden love and untapped magical powers. Morgan lives a happy life in Tintagel with her beloved father, until he is killed and now King Uther Pendragon along has violated her mother and taken the throne for himself. Morgan was born with a fiery temper and she will not let this brutal man stop her. She is educated in secret, discovering a love for ealing and soon finding a love of her own, albeit a forbidden one. But all good things end and soon she finds herself separated from her beloved and forced into a marriage she does not want. Things only get worse for her as she loses her love, is forced to deal with a husband who is terrible, and isolated and threatened. But Morgan has magic and a will that is unbreakable. This is the first book in the series if I am correct and so it ends very abruptly and you still have so many questions left. This book was just a really long read of this poor woman facing horrible circumstance after horrible circumstance. Everyone in it is unlikable ( except for you Alys) and you just kind of want Morgan to burn this whole place to the ground and just run off. Don’t even get me started on the angst of that relationship, definitely not a good time. Seriously this was a frustrating read and I just didn’t have a good time with it at all by the end. I am a huge fan of arthurian retellings but this one kind of just missed the mark for me unfortunately. So despite that, if you are looking for a Morgan le Fay retelling, give this a go maybe it will work out better for you than it did for me.

The Tears of Uther Pendragon (Part 2)

It’s gross that Dragons are sentient, intelligent, and powerful creatures, yet are at the mercy of Dragonlords, who are portrayed as good and peaceful people - being a Dragonlord is even considered a sacred birth “right”. As always, men must assert their dominance over everything and everyone.

I wish this show had better villains. Uther was the only good one. Morgana’s smirks make me want to punch her in the face, Tom Ellis is annoying as Cenred, and Morgause is... well, she’s more competent than Morgana, at least. They should both be glad for Gaius and Merlin. Gaius’s great solution to Morgana being a traitor was to do nothing, and Merlin followed his lead.

Leon and Gaius objected Arthur’s order to evacuate the villages and commit the citadel to a siege; they claimed the villagers would lose their livelihoods and Camelot’s Army was outnumbered 2:1. But Arthur didn’t want to appear weak by negotiating with Cenred, and it was not what his father would’ve wanted either. I believe the technical terms for this are “toxic masculinity” and “dysfunctional family dynamic”. In all honesty though, Arthur wasn’t necessarily wrong. If his Army appeared weak or vulnerable, Cenred might want to double down on his attack (or, on the contrary, feel safe enough to lower his guard?). And Cenred is not someone to negotiate with in general. He wanted Camelot, so he wouldn’t have settled for less when by opening up negotiations, Arthur was all but admitting to Cenred he might stand a chance. Negotiating a peaceful solution works best when the other party wants prosperity and security more than the thrill of the conquer. Cenred doesn’t seem to care much for his people or even for wealth - he doesn’t wear a crown and his throne room looks bare. He just wanted to own Camelot, so Arthur was probably right to defend the citadel. Then again, Cenred conceded his attack on Camelot rather quickly... Perhaps he could’ve been reasoned with, had Morgause not been around.

Merlin tried to reassure Arthur he made the right decision and had nothing to fear with Merlin by his side. Sorry, but did the power get to Merlin’s head? Did he forget he’s nothing but a servant to Arthur? It was almost painful watching Merlin pretend to be Arthur’s equal when he’s not - not as long as he lives in secret. 

Gwen’s opinion, on the other hand, was welcomed by Arthur. He wanted to know what the people were saying and expressed doubts over his decision. He wished his father was there to guide him. But Gwen reassured him she trusted him over anyone else, and Arthur should believe in himself and do what he believes right. That was really the best advice she could’ve given him. Arthur’s fatal weakness is not trusting himself enough. He's like any kid brought up by a controlling, domineering father: no self-esteem, fragile sense of self, difficulties separating his identity from his father's, always wanting to please. 

Gwen explicitly telling Arthur that he's better than Uther, and separating the two, was exactly what Arthur needed to hear. She always wants him to have faith in himself and to do what he wants, something he was never allowed to do growing up. Gwen and Uther are opposing forces in Arthur's life; he can't really have both. If he follows his father's footsteps he can't marry Gwen and might become the kind of man she doesn't want; if he listens to his heart, his father won't approve. In general, Gwen's influence over Arthur triumphs over his father's and her opinion is the one he values the most; she represents what he wants. But Arthur can never shake off his father entirely; of course he can't, it's his father. All anyone who was raised by someone like Uther can do is to build healthy adult relationships with people who accept him and love him for who they are.

Sadly, that was all the Arwen we had this episode. Arthur laying his hand over Gwen’s was touching and sexy. The romantic tension could be cut through with a knife. Arthur wanted to kiss Gwen but she pulled away and called him “sire”...

Arthur was more receptive to Merlin’s advice after talking to Gwen. Merlin said he believed in Arthur’s “destiny”, and Arthur was like “Looks like you aren’t always an idiot”. Touching. Just this episode, Arthur was upset over Merlin’s absence and threw heavy objects at him, yet Merlin still smiled and gave him a pep talk, and was happy to be acknowledged at all...

This episode wasn’t very exciting. It was worse than the last one. Nothing big happens. I liked the Arwen scene, that very brief moment when Gwen was fixing up Arthur in the infirmary, seeing Arthur come into his own a bit, foreshadowing The Coming of Arthur, and the bit when Morgana summoned the Army of the dead and Merlin and Morgause felt it happen - there was a brief moment when the music stopped and everything slowed down that was cool. Everything else was uninteresting. There were just too many fight scenes and pointless scheming that got nowhere. And Cenred gave up too quickly. His Army still outnumbered Camelot’s, even without the Army of the dead. Overall, a pretty weak season opener.

Honestly, I can see Morgana as Regina. She could be the mayor of Camelot, who rigged the election in her favor, leading to her half-brother, Arthur, losing the elections as mayor.

Merlin, though? Merlin could have a mix of storylines. He could be a young man who doesn't remember anything about his life as Merlin the Warlock and comes back to Camelot county after years of absence. His return ushers strange happenings, leading Morgana to do everything in her power to stop them.

🤔I don't know how the story would go, but I have the feeling there'd be a lot of UST, angst, attraction, denial of feelings, among other things. 😂

tbf tho. If there is one thing I learned about The Arthurian Cycle Morgan Le Fay is that she is every Antagonist Girlboss Femme Fatale Ever. Therefore BBC Morgana and Regina would get along. They can both run kingdoms or cities with an iron hand and um agreeable facade.

Merlin is tricky. He isn't someone you'd normally consider for a disney character. He's more of a Marvel superhero. He's like an unholy lovechild between Captain America / Natasha Romanov coz he's like a cinderella character on the outside but is actually some sort of idealistic secret service assassin when no one is looking.

Idk where he fits in storybrooke unless storybrooke gets sucked into the Marvel Multiverse as well.

For funsies make Merlin's day job as a someone who's generally unassuming and helpful... like a librarian or a nurse/EMT or Arthur's PA.

Morgana would be like "OOH WHO IS THIS NEW PRETTY GUY" and for some reason, there is a big town emergency and she recognizes Merlin's heroic work in the background (while her brother gets all the credit). Morgana starts to get attracted to this humble dude who had wormed his way into heart of their circle of friends (i.e the town's elite where the pendragons and the rest of knights belong)

All the while Merlin in the background is just.. uppending the whole social order she had created (idk how). This AU's Morgana would also go mad and paranoid especially if she doesn't know who she is actually fighting with in the shadows. AND SHE AND MERLIN KEEP FALLING FOR EACH OTHER. Merlin regains his memories with every "good thing against morgana" he inadvertently starts/causes. He realizes he was just repeating history and by that time Morgana is sooo close to finding him out.

From this Announce4: Link  I already explained the main light path story, dark path story and shadow path with 3 main characters that who 3 main characters are.The other 3 main characters will play the roles of the protagonist on each path as the leader, Syaoran, Peter and King Gilgamesh. This Illustration show describes the beginning of the concept of the 6 main characters' adventure. 

Syaoran Tsubasa: Path as protagonist started before season1. Starting by Syaoran chose to do what he did not do back then to move forward and saved Sakura. Even Syaoran knew that will take much of the burden and the sin that he thought that not be forgiven like Fai's fate changed and Kurogane's fate changed, but these two still said to him as the family that it is not your fault and to take all responsibility for them on to your own is a bit arrogant. (Same content of Tsubasa chronicle vol 26 chapter 203)

Sonic Crowe: Path as the main character started in season 7. Starting by Sonic decided to come with Syaoran's group and desired to find his last family, his brother. He finally got his memory in the past back and got rid of his curse, the Dark Sonic. Sonic finally know the truth that this world or any world, doesn't have real freedom or a real happy ending for everyone or saving everything. What a foolishly ideal he is. Everything was cruel, but Sonic still believe that there was still a way to change things for the right, but how?(Hint: Sonic's curse(As Vaten Hörmulegt) was sealed by Punch Whalen from season11.)

Peter Pendragon: Path as protagonist started around before season1 and season9. Starting with the sword was chosen Peter Pan by Aruku, who resides in the Sword, and gave the purpose of assisting chosen Hero in fulfilling his destiny as the true king Arthur appropriate to will use the Real sword Caliburn. Aruku told Peter to find 2 spirits to create the Real sword Caliburn but needed to go outside the world. The first time that Peter leaves Neverland with Tinkerbell. Also, the wish that Peter wanted to meet Punch again.

Punch Whalen: Path as the main character started in season11(Chapter1 Secret Truth of the Past). Starting by Punch decided to change the fate of the end of the world, save Yesudas, go with Enkidu and want to know about King Gilgamesh. Punch lost her other personality in season10(Chapter2 Fake World), and Punch wanted to find that personality, she believes that personality was already born as her other self. But don't know why that memory of King Gilgamesh always comes to her every time. And so she believes that Golden king is her other self.(Hint: That Super yellow look like Sonic is Punch Whalen’s half true identity.)

_____ Gilgamesh: Path as protagonist started in season 7(Chapter1 Secret Truth of the Past(Gilgamesh’s Journal)).Starting after losing Enkidu Gilgamesh fell into darkness. Enkidu, who held power equal to his own, died and hit Gilgamesh hard. Tormented by the fear of “death,” Gilgamesh set out on a journey to the underworld, seeking immortality. Gilgamesh got the immortality and was told by Homura that Gilgamesh already had immortality by the power inside him, the power of creation that is also the part of the god of nothingness. Gilgamesh decided to change the fate of the end of the world and stop the god of darkness.(Same content some of them in Epic of Gilgamesh)(Hint: Gilgamesh was rescued by Punch Whalen when the Babylonian era fell.)

Danny Phantom: Path as the main character started in season11(Chapter2 Shadow Path(Butterfly Effect)). Starting by Danny decided to pay for his freedom and becomes Enkidu's peon after Danny finds the truth that Homura already knew Danny for a long time and failed to save him. But before that Homura did fail to save her best friend, Madoka. She went back in time, saved her again and again, without end. Until one day, her world was destroyed by Bete Noire. Homura lost everything only she was alive. As a family, he can't let Homura alone and felt despair that's why he wants to live once more time.

There will be a Prologue story for each of the 3 protagonists and 3 main characters later.(Let me be honest here, at first, Sonic and Gilgamesh aren't in my mind at all because they are already famous in both games and movies. But again, I found something interesting in their characters and they can connect to the story that I made. (Because I created Tsubasa of Phantasia, I finally like them, especially King Gilgamesh))

You're probably wondering why we didn't do it season by season. Because one story is very long. It's as simple as writing 4000 years of history (because I included games, movies, history, and others mixed into one) and only thinking about writing about one human life for 80 years or one year and 365 days, that is a very long time. Plus, it's not enough to finish the compilation in time. And if I don't You don't know that the story doesn't focus on a single protagonist.

😫 Alright, I will give you a hint about study these characters and how you know their personality basics. If you want to know Punch as a human with 2 personalities (will appear in Path of the Shadow light: Season 8(Story of Daily Life) before meeting Danny), go watch The Garden of Sinners, known in Japan as Kara no Kyoukai. Shiki show some of similar to Punch but not the same. Syaoran, watch Tsubasa chronicle,xxxholic and Tales of Phantasia(About the tree and system battle even HP and TP)(Find free time to watch BBC Merlin tv series, they are connected ). As Peter pan, watch Disney peter pan first, next play the legend of Zelda, and study link characters (especial Ocarina of time). As Danny, watch Danny Phantom again and find more information about Enkidu, they are connected. As Sonic, the basis is taken from Sonic X so watch Sonic X(Watch in japan country not in 4kid version). As Punch(again) and Gilgamesh, a basic study is in the game Fate extra ccc. Try to collect secret garden and you will know it. I suggest you find some time to read BLACK HOLE, einstein's universe, dimension, alien and dimension, steve jobs, universe, heart of nature(Like “Walden” by henry david thoreau ) and also watch The Matrix(1999), I, Robot(2004) and study more about jackie chan art martial.(To know story outline of Tsubasa of Phantasia)
