Let's talk about Imelda! 🥰️💚

How I feel about this character I find Imelda really interesting! In general I really like characters, where they start off seeming pretty mean and full of themselves, but they slowly start to appreciate the MC and actually respect them. I feel like by the end of the game, if anyone would try to talk shit about my MC, Imelda would defend them like "I am the only one allowed to talk shit about them!" 😂 And I mean...the sapphic energy is off the charts with her 🤭❤️️

All the people I ship romantically with this character Generally girls, I personally like to ship her with Poppy. They'd be a terrific duo for sure! I'm not against Imelda x Anne either, but somehow I see Anne being into our goofy Garreth more 🤔

My non-romantic OTP for this character My MC Harriet and Imelda! As I said before, they'll be best friends by the end of the game and I find that "I'm the only one allowed to talk shit about them!" absolutely hilarious 😂 I do imagine her also being a bit of a wingman for lil ol' Harriet. Hitting Seb's head 24/7 like "What the hell did you do now?!", whenever she notices those two idiots are avoiding each other 😂

My unpopular opinion about this character I don't really think my opinions about her are really unpopular. I see a lot of people loving her and also seeing her as lesbian, soooo...yeah Maybe it's a bit more unpopular that I see her getting really awkward and flustered around Poppy. Like Poppy is the only one she gets intimidated, therefore explaining the crush Imelda has on her 🤭

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. With any character in this game, I wish we would've had more interactions with them and also could've seen more interactions between other NPCs. I think she has a lot of potential like many characters 🥺️💚

What's funny about this is, when talking on the US context, most of us are aware of race issues in the US, at least in the basics. We are raised with US media and news, and in this context in particular in tumblr, many of us are in 'fandoms' of US media too. So even if we haven't experienced it ourselves, we understand how racism presents itself in the US and we also understand it's a very diverse country. When we see a Hollywood movie with a cast of people of many different backgrounds, it makes sense to us. The US is big and diverse.

Which is also why it's so incredibly annoying when people from the US or elsewhere have such an ignorance about Latin America, or to be fair, any other place. We wouldn't think of calling the US a "white-only" country, or to judge the ancestry someone of the US by their skin tone. They feel perfectly comfortable and willing to do that to us, though. They feel perfectly comfortable to judge entire countries by their own narrow views on race (reinforcing racism itself, by the way). The fact that Latinos have different experiences and issues with race, ancestry, nationality and identity is seemingly arcane knowledge to them. I've seen people outright deny to me the existence of black or indigenous Argentines (a tactic used by our own white supremacists, so congratulations, you two are friends now!), being completely baffled at the existence of asian or arab latinos, and pulling skin tone charts and calipers on anyone who doesn't fit the racial boxes they think apply everywhere in the world.

It's very, very hard for me to wrap my head around this. How one can be so insistent that their own country is diverse and has complex nuances with regards to race relations, and then going the other way and judging whole countries or complete strangers without any attempt at understanding them. My only suggestion is that they perhaps should stop thinking that their experiences are universal.

I saw an interesting post a while back that said “Capcom made us [Miles and Diego/Godot] only have like two(?) interactions because they knew we would be unstoppable with a brother dynamic” and tbh it stuck with me bc it was intriguing.

So yeah that potential brotherhood, but that Godot/Diego AU I made (that I still need a name for)

Also I bet Gregory Edgeworth would have smelled like a bit like coffee, and so Diego just reminds Miles of that comforting presence 😭 (the von Karma estate was a tea household, so he didn’t smell much coffee after DL-6 and didn’t realize how much he missed it/reminded him of his father)

what if tail pillow ... 😳 apparently crocodilians, despite having thick skin and scales, are pretty sensitive to touch! i won't go into detail, but look it up if you're interested. to tie into that, a gator-human hybrid would be more sensitive than a human being. mostly to pressure on the scale areas (scales being like armour, so it wouldn't feel like having your skin touched) and sensitive elsewhere but especially the face (and underside of tail)
