all the tips, advice and steps i give you in this series are the exactly what i use for my blog, this is what helped grow my blog to 1.1k followers, while befriending some of the most amazing people i've met, tumblr is an important place for me, and i've been using it for years, i've helped multiple other people grow their own tumblr blog, and i've use these exact steps. this series is superrr important to me and very well-thought out and planned, please don't steal my content ideas, or plagiarize my content or series ideas, they are super time-consuming to create and i put all my hard work into it. this series is to help you all create and build a sustainable coquette blog. keep in mind these tips i give in the series can be used for any type of tumblr blog, it doesn't just have to be coquette, however everything i say in this series is more tailored to creating a coquette blog, so just make sure to know if you aren't creating a coquette blog, that's totally fine and you can still use these effective tips! <3

let me begin with the essential elements that will form the foundation of your digital sanctuary:

choosing your perfect username

your username is like a whispered introduction, so choose carefully. consider these elements:

incorporate soft, romantic words (pearl, rose, moth, sage)

avoid numbers unless they're meaningful dates

keep it easily typeable and memorable

check availability across platforms

consider future branding possibilities

make it very short to keep it neat

pro tip: before settling on a name, write it in different fonts and styles to ensure it maintains its beauty in various forms.

I’ve already addressed boundaries about behavior here, but I’m making some official rules.

A Guide Before You Request:

Take a gander at my masterlist to see if I have what you’re looking for! I split up into sections to make it easier to access. Some sets have crossover themes, but the main focus of the set determines its category.

Check out the Queue to see what’s coming up and what I’m working on! Some sets take longer than others, and if the request is for a fandom I will do my best if I’m not familiar with the content, but please don’t expect me to be a know - all oracle.

What is Hanahaki?

If you've stumbled across my blog and my works residing in it, there is a good chance you've seen one or two with weirdly specific flower motifs and death (maybe you even clicked on this from one of those fics). That is because they are set in a fictitious world where exists a disease called Hanahaki.

But what is it, and why does it appear?

Hanahaki is a disease that occurs inside someone who's feeling one-sided love. It doesn't matter if that love is actually requited, if the person believes that their love is one-sided, they have a chance of falling sick with Hanahaki. And when that happens, flowers will bloom inside their chest, slowly but surely killing the person from inside as the plant develops and matures. It all starts with just a few coughs, the tiniest bits of blood and maybe a petal or two. And as time goes on, those turn into full on flowers, even their stems fully coated in vermillion towards the end, restricting the airways and nearly suffocating their carrier. Usually these flowers represent who the person has fallen for, but not every time.

The only cure with no drawbacks for the disease is requited love. The only other option is surgery, which would get rid of the flowers rooting inside one's chest, but also the love and memory of who they had fallen in love with. This procedure quite literally makes you lose a part of yourself. In some people's case, the surgery goes well and they only lose a small part of themselves, of the person they loved once. In other cases, the person loses emotions other than their love for that certain someone. It is always a bargain, which is why so many choose to suffer with their disease and die with it. Because they left the world feeling, loving someone so dearly, instead of living for long, long years as a mere husk of their former selves.

These are the basics and what I write my Hanahaki AU fics based on. There are a multitude of interpretations of this AU, so please bear that in mind. I'm by no means an expert on this topic, I merely wrote this in hopes of helping people who got confused when reading my works. The works that aren't labeled as being set in a Hanahaki AU, because I wanted to retain a certain level of surprise as it is slowly being revealed in the story.
