The rest of the family seemed to have accepted that Jason and Bruce were a couple by the time the pair came down for breakfast. Dick seemed intent to not look at either of them which Bruce figured was fair. He did worry a bit about Damian glaring at him but figured they’d talk over whatever was causing that.

They finished eating without much drama, which in their family ment that only two fights broke out but thankfully no one did anything more physically aggressive than throwing a butter knife. Thankfully Tim ducked in time to miss Jason’s attack so all was well. He did wonder if he would need to deal with any fall out from his friends in the league but figured it wasn’t any of the teams business what he and another adult got up to.

Eventually the family parted ways to do whatever they had planned for this particular Saturday. Meanwhile Jason dragged Bruce along to the library where he quickly grabbed a book. Bruce soon found himself on the window seat with Jason sprawled on his lap, head resting on his shoulder.

They lay there in silence for what felt like an hour, with Bruce holding Jason close as he quietly read aloud to him. The sun rose high as they finally rose, the book paused at the end of a chapter. They began kissing, softly and gently in contrast to the passion of the night before.

Damian is just feeling over protective of his Dad and is actually glaring at Jason, this will not be a big issue which is why I didn't get into it (he's just being cutely protective in my mind and I needed to share the idea)

The fights over breakfast are open for interpretation but I did want to show that Jason was not on the outs with the others. And yes Steph bet on Bruce the night before and Duke thought Jason wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping with him because of the age thing. I know I shouldn’t be surprised that Batman 138 isn’t being received well in a lot of circles, but it does make me wonder how many people enjoy it because it is subpar.

I am into canon because of fanon. 99% of fandoms I’ve entered is because of fanfic from an author I was following and they switched fandoms. I’m practically giddy and foaming at the mouth at Batman 138 because it just feels like a big Brujay, Brudick, Brujaydick fix it-hurt/comfort-enemies to lovers fic boom is on the horizon. Batman is a juggernaut of a fandom, so I’m not worried that bad/subpar canon writing will kill it.

I’m just wondering how common it is in the Batman fandom to participate in fandom this way? The canon material is simply background or inspiration for fanfics. Fanon is the main focus.
