There's just this ghost like being being held in JL captivity and all of a sudden Marvel just crashes through the wall and tackles the being before suddenly crying!

He missed his parent damn it!

"Who's my little champion? You are, you are! Who's my little champion? You are, you are!"

The voice carried through the halls of the watchtower gently, bearly being able to penetrate the walls and floors of the space station.

But it was just enough to reach Captian Marvel's ears all the same. And just like that, a feral part of his brain activated and he was tearing through the halls, trying to find the source of the song with no concern to those around him, not even a "sorry" being said to any workers that got knocked over.

The moment he pinpointed the sound, he dove through the metal walls as if they were tissue paper and dove for the person on the other side.

"MOM!!!"

Easily caught as if he weighed nothing, Danny wrapped Billy into a hug.

"Bill-star! There you are!"

And every single emotion that had been building up that day just gushed out as Billy Batson aka Captian Marvel sobbed into his parent's shoulders.

"Also it's "Dad" now, sweetie."

"Daaad!"

Memories of his adopted mother coming home with a cheerful call. A call that always spoke "I'm home. I'm here"

And Billy could only sink into his Father's arms, ignoring everything else around them.

me and carol are on a simple mission, get rid of the drones, and get out 

well, at least i thought it was simple

technically, none of this is my fault, carol is the one who just had to look this good during our mission

like i said, not my fault.

her sleeves are rolled up, her hands glowing, her-

“y/n look out!” she yells, snapping me out of my trance to turn over seeing a drone come flying towards me at full speed

without any time to move, the drone hits me, hitting my cheek and upper arm

“fuck!” i yell in pain

carol looks over at me, eyes widened, using a burst a power to quickly eliminate the rest of the drones

she runs over to me putting both hands on my shoulders 

“baby why didn’t you move?” 

i wince at her touching the arm that got hit, seeing her hand quickly leave that area

while mumbling a quick “sorry”

“sorry- sorry, i was distracted” i say

“clearly” she mumbles back, causing me to glance at her 

we get back onto the spaceship, her grabbing my hand leading me to the bathroom

“sit” she points to the counter 

i jump up on the counter, seeing her rummage through the drawers looking for her first aid kit

she grabs bandages and cleaning solution

“babe you don’t have to-“ i start, quickly getting interrupted 

“shh, let me do this for you” she says and i almost melt right there

“you said you were distracted, by wha hm?” she asks and i sit there trying to think of an excuse

giving up, i mumble “it’s not my fault” 

“who’s fault is it then, pretty girl?” she says 

see this is exactly what i mean when i say i get distracted.

“caree” i whine, seeing a smirk fill her face as she places to bandage on my cheek

“alright, all done.” she says and i hop down

“thanks for helping me babe” i say, walking to our bedroom

“i mean- i kinda had to, it was my fault isn’t that right baby?” she says teasingly

i turn around seeing her trying not to laugh, this girl is gonna kill me.

Shazam forgets that he is the champion of magic and just shrugs when people ask specific magical questions

Someone asking Billy to educate Shazam on magical affairs bc they live in the same city and it would be easier if a child overshares magical facts rather than a colleague sitting him down to explain basic stuff

Someone: Hey Billy, could you help us out with something with Shazam?

Billy, thought he had this whole secret identity thing down: uh. Wait, what?

Someone: Could you maybe talk to him for us?

Billy:

Billy: huh?

Someone: It's just like- sometimes we need him to help us out with magic stuff, but half the time he doesn't know the answer, and you always seem to know whenever magic is happening over in Fawcett and you're really helpful and you know a lot about this kinda stuff. Could you maybe track him down and tell him what you know?

Billy, internally: holy moly they haven't figured it out

Billy: Yeah of course!! *leaves quickly*

Billy: wait. what do they mean I don't know the answer to magic questions I'm the CHAMPION of MAGIC. wait how am I supposed to teach MYSELF magic. I don't even know as much magic in this form as I do as Shazam! Why do they think I know more magic than Shazam?

Every time I think about how Secret Invasion could have been a show that set up Maria for taking over for Fury with the young Avengers and Fury's final act being finding a homeland for the Skrulls and doing right by them instead of setting up NOTHING like it did and taking away two favorite characters with so much potential I get so mad. It would have been such a good way to tie the new crew to the old guard.

Instead, we never get to see Maria again. She died because of Fury and he has few to no feelings about it. Also I think Secret Invasion gave everyone a bad taste in their mouth for the Marvels which was really fun and you didn't even need to see SI or know about it to follow the movie. So why not use that show to set up something that people would also understand Maria taking over for Fury after they fight the Secret Invasion and it would be a no brainer and could be done with or without a show tbh.

I had to get this rant out while I work on my Secret Invasion rewrite that is taking up all of my time and mental energy, but damn do I wish it was the show for real.

Writing prompt 30:

Billy didn't know how or why but he felt another presence nearby at all times since he was granted his power.

Always finding him food and shelter before he can think about it. The lost money on the streets always found somewhere near him when he wakes up from a good rest.

He never mentions this presence to the other league members, realising this person is more than they seem during a meeting.

His body suddenly moving on its own as he goes to protect everyone from the cosmic storm that appears out of nowhere. The man in the centre of it all angry at the sight of his eyes becoming red and shouting for the spirit to leave him alone.

Billy watches from a distance and is back in control when the storm has been burned away. The other league members silently staring at him as Flash asks "what the hell???"

My Honest Thoughts:

I’m actually kinda sad that this movie is performing so poorly at Box Office, and I’m all the more sad that it lacks the excellence that I’ve imagined for the last two years in the narrative sense.

The cast is strong, the visuals are strong, the action is strong, the direction is strong, but it all came crashing down because Marvel has been doing a horrible job at choosing its writers for movies. It is also fair to mention that the studios have refused to pay the actors fairly, thus causing another fatal blow at the box office!

—no promotion from actors and poor promotion from marvel

—toxic incels and misogyny

—some of the audience’s disinterest in the characters

—The current MCU’s bad handling at storytelling

There was just so many forces against this movie and it was evident that this would be the outcome. Had the storytelling took a new approach at these characters and gave a more interesting villain — or even a villain with a more developed story— and gave us at least ten or fifteen more minutes with these characters for a more fleshed out story, the outcome could have differed.

Not even lying, this movie has some of the BEST action scenes in the mcu, some FRESH and creative stylistic choices in directing, some killer ass comedy, and some jaw-dropping visuals! It has given Carol an even better character arc and has brought some clarity and direction to the multiverse saga that has otherwise been handled poorly in phase 4 and 5. Nia DaCosta is a certified nerd and she did exceptionally well with building up the cosmic corner of the mcu!

Let me just say that Academy Award Winner, Brie Larson, shined so bright in her sequel! She channeled so many new emotions and character dynamics that make up Carol Danvers! She was able to find a nice balance between Carol’s stoicism and emotional vulnerability which so many people have criticized before! She also went about Carol’s regret beautifully with raw and heartfelt interactions that push said character to correct her mistakes as a hero and as a human.

And let us not forget about the outstanding performances from Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani as Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. The charisma of Monica Rambeau and the creative handling of her powerset is one that I will hold close to my heart. And the STAR that is Kamala khan and her family is one element that stole my heart early on in the film!

This movie deserves its flowers and it’s unfortunate that the writing had to weigh it down so much. I’m fucking OVERJOYED and grateful that I was able to experience this movie in the theaters—and to have theorized for a good six months on end!

It is going down as one of my top 5 mcu movies, not because it was perfect, but because of my attachment to the cast and the characters. They knocked my positive reception up 30 notches because of the hard work and the un-fucking-deniable chemistry! I know everyone may not agree with my sentiments, but I don’t care because this is deeper than box office success and audience reactions. Yes, It is unfortunate that my happiness wasn’t shared much, but what can I do now other than enjoying it as the phenomenon it is? 🤷🏾‍♀️
