Kortac Headcanons:

They all have a secret handshake

Just seems like it, it can be adapted to fit all of them at once

It’s actually quite impressive to watch

Food shall be stolen, it doesn’t belong to you

Unless it says your name and that it’s from a family member will they leave it alone (most of the time, Oni steals sometimes)

They all get along pretty well, but some of them don’t share anything about their past at all

König, Oni, and Fender are perfect examples of this. You will not know anything and they will not share

Sometimes though they answer super vague to mess with people

All of them learn some of each others language, not great at all but know ‘thanks’, yes, no, and a few curse words.

Everyone agrees Arabic is super difficult and makes no sense

(My dad is Arab and I tried to learn it. You want to make a word plural? Ok, there are 16 different ways to do it and no rules to know when to use it. Memorize the plural and singular and that’s it. It’s bs.)

(Also, you leanr standard but no one speaks that, they speak slang and it’s horrible. But I do know some)

Sometimes care packages from family will show up for some of them. It’s often books, foods specific to that region, and photos of family/important moments.

König had a sister who’s a ballerina and she’s amazing.

Callisto and Stiletto met her once and they hit it off. Two badass mentors yes please.

There was definitely vulture shock on all fronts. Something harmless to everyone would greatly offend one specific person.

There were a lot of presentations about office etiquette in the first months.

Oni and Horangi hate each other and do not try to get along. But if you make fun of Asian Countries or are like ‘all Asians look the same’ they will become a force to be reckoned with.

Hear me out, love square/circle/whatever the correct shape is with Oni, Krueger, König and Horangi.

Oni has a love-hate relationship with Krueger (he wants him to suffer, but only he's allowed to make him suffer. And maybe they kiss and fuck when tensions are too high, type thing) and sees how upset Horangi being with König makes Krueger, so he ALSO sets out to ruin their relationship.

It was already bad when Krueger made the fights seem like something Horangi started, but now Oni is backing him up, acting as a witness and maybe even lying to König about fights that never happened.

Do what you will with this, I just like the idea of Oni and Krueger being mean and a little vicious. I love the fandom, but not everyone has to be nice all the time!!

Oni and Krueger being fuck buddies that lowkey hate each other is such a good take. It's also interesting because I don't know too much about Oni, but I do know that a big part of his backstory is an urge to clear his family name after they became criminals due to hard times. So the fact that Krueger is canonically a murderer who fled the country and joined the military to escape charges... Just... the opposition. The contrast of each other. Oni who was forced out of the military due to his father and forced to become a mercenary where Krueger was booted from the military due to killing several civilians and having to escape custody for it...

Krueger is literally everything Oni is against, but in a way, so is Horangi. I could imagine how an infatuation with Krueger, who still wants König, could cause Oni to in some ways to resent Horangi and König.

This is just a splendid idea. May have to start using it more.

Like he's in his mid-20's while most operators are between early-30's to mid 40's. But he's so serious compared to most of them and has a huge physical build

You can imagine the general surprise when the others operators learnt hes so young

Doing it to Compensate (Not Love)

Now, I don't usually do this, but I wrote a really rough ficlet for any Call of Duty character x reader with a dash of rivals to lovers (younger reader is heavily implied)

It was written with Horangi in mind (blatant favoritism), but you could imagine this with any character in COD that fits the mindset

I don't want it to rot in my documents, so here u go

He resented you, he hated how stubborn you were about how you were right.

He hated how you would preach how much better you were than him at a certain skill, even if he was superior to you in rank. He hated how you would smirk everytime you saw him miss the bullseye during gun training. He hated how you would roll your eyes at him at every terrible unhealthy choice he made during meals, judging his barely sustainable appetite despite you having the oddest cravings he had seen. He despised you, absolutely detested your attitude.

But ever since that day, ever since you clung to him with heavy breaths in need of assistance, he just couldn't help but find you absolutely gorgeous. This was the first time you ever depended on him for anything, gripping his shoulder like he was the only thing that could save you.

He could remember the image of you covered in mud, your untrained fingers coated in your own blood while his rougher hands held your wound closed. It wasn't a pleasant sight, in fact, it was disturbing. But to him? He saw your defeated image as a portrait of a sorrowful martyr painted by a historic romantic, a tragedy cursed by the heavens.

He felt an unfound pity and worry seeing you like this. You were confident, believing in an ability you haven't fully mastered could help you defend in battle, but here you were, met with the reality of war. In that moment, he had just realized how important you were to him, how your confidence didn't make up in your lack of skill. Sure, he enjoyed making you groan in contempt everytime he commented on how much of an amateur you were if you missed a chance to kick him during sparring or how you were a terrible soldier if you missed a practice target just by a centimeter, but those times were accompanied by mischievous grins and amused smirks. They were all in good fun. You genuinely suffering? It wasn't any fun for him. He couldn't handle seeing you hunched over, leaning on his shoulder over a wound that could've taken your life. He just couldn't bear the thought of you being taken from him.

Since that day, he realized that for all the teasing and snarky comments made from good intentions, he'd make it up to you now just by making your life easier.

Ever since that day, he chose to make you your coffee, no matter how painfully sweet or disgustingly bitter it was. He chose to give you a pat on the shoulder every time you shot a straight bullseye, and chose to praise your efforts everytime you sent him flying back on his arse during training. You deserved it. He just couldn't go back to treating you like shit after that day, because it made him realize how he could lose you at any moment. He didn't want the last words he ever told to you to be a criticism of your skills or a sarcastic judgement of how your inexperience made him better than you. He had to make it special, because he loved you.

But he sure as hell will never tell you that. Instead, he'll tell you that you are a valued soldier, that losing you would be detrimental to the team. He would place his hands on your hand, your shoulder, or any place on your body that was subtle enough that you couldn't realize what he was truly feeling. It didn't carry his devotion nor his loyalty to you. It didn't send the message of how much he cared. But, it will always be close enough to an "I love you" that he could ever manage to tell you.

Like the COD fandom, sure Ghost and König are hot but what about Nikto, Oni, Logan, Kick, Horangi, Roach, Velikan!? There’s literally little no no fanfics of them😟

Hutch, my man, is a computer genius

However his true power remains long unknown UNTIL a bet comes around

During one of the team game nights, König loses and is forced to reveal a story about a scar not gotten in the field

He shares a long scar running up his forearm and says it’s from a dirt biking accident, mentioning that there may be footage of it somewhere

He doubts anyone actually saw it since it was only aired locally

Hutch says ‘if I find it, can I show it to everyone?’

König responds (he is a little drunk) ‘I bet you can’t find it, but if you do I’ll owe you one favor AND tell you another story of a scar, just you.’

Time passes and people move on. It’s a while before they are all able to have a full team game night together

Before they can start, Hutch gets them all to the rec room, his computer hooked up to the TV

A long video file ready to play as everyone sits down.

‘I win our bet König’ was the only warning everyone got before Hutch started a video of a 15 year old König dirt bike racing in the mountains on old footage.

Clear as day, near the end battling for 1st, a kid nicks König’s bike and he falls off the hill into the deep mud on his arm

Quickly getting back up, he fights for the top spot. In the final stretch, König passes the kid and flips him off

Then proceeds to mock him while on the podium with his still bleeding arm, gesturing that he’s crying then laughs and points

Safe to say a fight broke out and the footage cut off

Hutch was standing there a little to proud of himself, and he does receive his special story

Out of solidarity, he has not looked at anyone’s search history on base.

Hutch, Declan, Oni, Roze, Zeus, and Horangi are great singers and have amazing range

Stilletto, Zero, and Askel should never be allowed to sing and aren’t banned but they will get glares

All of KorTac are a little sadistic in battle, but there is definitely a range.

Surprisingly König, Stiletto, and Oni are at the top of this list. Callisto is the only one who will force them to stop.

Oni can, will, and has cut off arms with his katanas just to leave them to bleed out

König likes to use a sledgehammer when available, he swings so it hits the enemy’s head but there is usually a wall of floor to meet them.

He has a biting problem too. If you put your hand on or near his mouth he will bite you through the mask if need be, fingers have been lost and König thinks it’s hilarious.

All of them carry a spare balaclava in case comeones is ripped, most often Horangi’s or König’s.

Some of them take medication for many things

Most for PTSD and depression, König for those and anxiety and insomnia (caused by his anxiety and depression)

The man is bad WITH his medication, without it he is so much worse. As an unmedicated kid who needed meds, he would hardly leave his room and would panic attack upon returning

The days that he misses, he locks himself in his room and cries all day

Though one of the lesser religious of the group, Klaus embodies the Christmas spirit the most

Though, he acts more like a demented Santa

Singing carols with twisted lyrics as he completes his missions, finishing with a ‘ho ho ho, and have a merry Christmas in hell’

He gained an affectionate nickname of ‘Krampus’ given to him by Fender and König who grew up with it.

It was not out of kindness or humor that they gave him this name like everyone believes.

To strengthen his bond with the name, he researched several different traditions over many countries with the creature and began to terrorize them all.

Fender and König were terrorized the most and their childhood trauma/fear was used against them.

Declan found this especially funny. You could tell Klaus just pranked them is Declan was seen with tears in his eyes.

Eventually, Fender and König call him Krampus throughout the year, while the rest stick to just Christmas time.

Zeus, although very polite, can be incredibly judgemental.

If someone eats something he deems as disgusting, he’ll scrunch up his face and give this horrified look.

This look has spared no one and made several people cry.

The reveal of König as a Colonel had shaken everyone. Apparently Zero was the only one who guessed right but was under the impression König had no idea how he got there

Which, to be fair, is kinda true

König gets along really well with Askel and Klaus for obvious reasons. If any of them heads home, they’ll bring back the good beer and treats that they all know

Everyone will eat whatever is in the fridge, nothing is safe. Maybe if it has a not from a family member will some of them leave it alone. But that is no guarantee.

Horangi, in an attempt to ‘chill Oni out’, slipped marijuana drops into his tea and got him high as hell.

Oni laid on the common room couch for 6 hours without moving and said the weirdest shit.

Horangi was there the whole time and loved every moment, unfortunately, some others didn’t agree

Declan, Stilletto, Askel, Klaus, and Horangi openly laughed while Calisto and Zero were the only ones who didn’t find it funny at all

Oni quickly got Horangi back by replacing some of his nice kimchi with weird cheap stuff he found for online. He mixed it together to blend the flavors

At dinner that night, Horangi got half way through before leaving to throw up. Oni laughed the whole time

Horangi quickly returned to dinner and tackled him over the table, attempting my to shove some of the bad kimchi down his throat.

The yelling foreign languages at each other was funny. Mostly since it was Oni mocking Horangi and Horangi yelling rather than vice versa.

Horangi has seen everyone’s face, mostly because he doesn’t knock and has weird hours

This includes Ghost, even if they only worked together for a week

Fender is the only one who’s seen almost everyone’s face because they showed it to him willingly, König will wear a medical mask but won’t show his face

The medics know a lot of secrets about everyone, not important ones though, very stupid ones

Know Roze stole a loaf of bread from her family’s kitchen when she was 8 and felt bad so she tossed it in a lake

Know Zero once a had a crush on a middle school girl when he was in elementary and tried hard to get her attention but failed miserably

They won’t tell anyone because of Patient-Client Confidentiality and consequently become the secret keepers of the group

König only one who has seen Fender’s face.

KorTac tries to have dinner together and push the tables into a square, it’s really fun and they have game night (without gambling)

König has the highest tolerance and is has never gotten past drunk before.

He doesn’t really get drunk, he just gets wobbly and that’s all. No one knew the first time til he tried to get up and immediately tripped over his own feet, stayed on the floor and groaned, saying ‘damn, drank to much’

No one could remember how much he drank that night.

Everyone once saw him have like 14 beers (he has his own stash from home that’s strong and no one else likes) and said he felt tipsy and didn’t know his limit

Declan and Oni come in close second and Declan will brag about this to anyone who listens

Stilletto and Horangi are third but they don’t really care. Calisto, Zero, and Gromsko are the same way but have a lower tolerance

Zeus is really bad at drinking games and refuses to play, so they don’t really know his limit

He has admitted to being in the third place group, much to Declan’s amusement

Hutch has hacked into devices with weird search history’s. He doesn’t talk about it but if drunk enough he will tell some of the weirder non sexual ones.

Though, there are a few he will never speak of because thinking about them makes him shiver.

I just watched the DnD movie so now I'm gonna give each CoD character a DnD class

Price is a good old ranger. Knows what to do and how to lead his team and survive in any environment

Logically, Soap should be artificer, you know, boom boom, ka-frecking-boom, ect. But tbh I prefer druid, i think he's kind of polyvalent and lowkey chaotic/wild (let this man be a honey badger)

Ghost is simple. Stealth, ghost-like, boogey-man like, tragic backstory... yeah rogue fit just right. tho I don't think it's enough for his combat skills, so I'm gonna say multiclass rogue-fighter

For Gaz I'm gonna say sorcerer. I can't really explains because I'm not very familiar with sorcerers but that not-totally-controlled magic suit him

Alejandro is definitely a paladin. hungry for justice, hero-like, strong, hot, stand for the good of the people, himbo... perfect.

I can see Rudy as a wizard. Like he's getting underestimate but could kick everybody's ass in the room

Valeria is a rogue. Totally stabbing you in the back to get your cool loot

Horangi is a Warlock. His patron is a tiger-like spirit (and gave him tattoos like tiger stripes)

Gromsko is also a ranger, but he's mostly into taming

Farah is a fighter, possible multiclass with ranger (mostly into survive)(this one feels kinda underwhelming, I'm sorry Farah :(

Alex is also a paladin. the goodest boy in town (and a himbo)

And for König I'm not sure but let's say barbarian, he has the physical build for
