#dissociation culture is
disassociation culture is not even realizing you were disassociating until you come back to yourself or "wake up" and realize youre missing months of your life that you can never get back

my heart goes out to you if you're a disabled person who has a complicated or negative relationship with sleep. if you need to sleep a lot but can't due to life circumstances, or sleeping extra causing other symptoms to flare up. if you can't sleep enough due to pain, or nightmares, or psychosis, or bipolar, or depression. if you sleep way too much and find it hard to stay awake. if you can't fall or stay asleep. if you need medication in order to be able to sleep. if you don't feel rested from sleep. if you wake up a lot in the night. if you have bladder or bowel accidents while asleep. if you twitch or convulse or move too or get injured in your sleep. if you can't control your sleep schedule no matter what. if you can't sleep during "normal" sleeping hours. if you can't sleep for 8+ hours straight but can sleep for shorter amounts of time. if sleep is what you need but for one reason or another you just can't or refuse to do it.
i care about you. your disabilities deserve to be seen and acknowledged

me chilling being a system and then suddenly im pierced with the most body shaking panic inducing primal fear that feels as if ive been stabbed in the heart by an icicle that makes my blood run cold and sends shivers that penetrate down to my bones and then my brain realizes it made a mistake or something and is like "whoops. my bad. fixing it" and then the feeling is gone im fine like nothing even happened and i fail to even properly remember what scared me so badly once its over

You know what’s wild about being a fictive? Missing your old life even though it was shitty because it’s a shittiness you were used to. The life you’re living now is a new kind of shitty that feels unpleasant in a different way.

I think people who think having DID is so quirky and cool forget that
Theres times where I feel extreme emotions coming from someone but I’m not sure who.
Sometimes it happens during the day or night and It can get very overwhelming, especially if I don’t know who it is and cant help them.
Dreams can occur that will consist of said alter reliving certain situations or trauma
Or simply, thinking about a person or situation that happened and getting a wave of their emotions.
This can be good or bad but, I don’t talk about how often it happens, we don’t talk about it happening.
Sometimes we would just rather keep it moving and forget about it, but lately I’ve been feeling certain anxiety coming from someone and another person feeling regret and guilt or just depression.
Thankfully we have a sys self helper and a soother to lessen that load on the system and whoever is fronting at the time but again, this can be very stressful
Especially if one of those people feeling said emotion is the soother.
I think about how many people on tiktok have gotten caught outright faking or exaggerating their DID to make it seem like its so fun and so amazing to have this disorder but the truth is, its not.
Theres good and bad days but in the end it’s literally having some number of people in your head with their own thoughts, their own emotions, their own lives and their own faults.
We go through our own struggles, our own traumas and our own lives. All we want is security and happiness, no drama, no more trauma or shitty memories, no more flashbacks no more weird ass dreams, we just want to be happy.
Thanks for reading my little vent.

"The ordinary response to atrocities is to banish them from consciousness. Certain violations of the social compact are too terrible to utter aloud: this is the meaning of the word unspeakable.
Atrocities, however, refuse to be buried. Equally as powerful as the desire to deny atrocities is the conviction that denial does not work. Folk wisdom is filled with ghosts who refuse to rest in their graves until their stories are told. Murder will out. Remembering and telling the truth about terrible events are prerequisites both for the restoration of the social order and for the healing of individual victims."

Plural culture is thinking you’re just genderfluid and abrosexual, and fluid with pronouns, and change interests back and forth very quickly, and just randomly changing names because you just decided you don’t like that other one and this one’s so much better, then changing it back, and-
(even without these things you are still valid💙)
