I feel like one of the major ways sex ed failed me was the utter lack of discussion about vaginal discharge. Around 13 I started just… leaking fluids. It was on a set schedule, every day after lunch there’d be an uncomfortable wetness down the front of my underwear.

It was awful. Every movement was wet and cold unpleasantness in my pants. I’d go stuff toilet paper into my underwear and it would pill up and stick to my damp skin. That went on for a year.

I finally discovered panty liners and started wearing them daily, but with the unconscious fear that the overall juiciness of my pussy was unnatural.

I’d read people saying that cotton underwear would dissipate moisture and stop it from being a problem but no amount of natural fibers could evaporate what my crotch was producing. Since that wasn’t enough for me I worried I was abnormal.

I didn’t like wearing panty liners every day. It felt sweaty and wasteful but the alternative was to be wet and miserable. I still worried about it. But when I finally asked a doctor they just asked if it was more than my usual discharge. I said, no, it’s always been this way. They shrugged and assured me that meant my body was behaving reliably. Also if your discharge discolors your underwear that’s also normal cause of chemistry reasons

That reassurance didn’t come until my 20’s.

Finally a few years ago I discovered cloth liners. They’re reusable and clip into the crotch of underwear. I was ecstatic to finally have a non disposable option. I love them. Although the mainstream ones have polyester wings and I’m very excited to try the new all cotton ones I just got off Etsy. I think they were originally intended as light period protection but were robust enough for me.

So if you’ve ever worried about how wet your pussy is: it’s normal. It’s self cleaning, it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. You should worry when the amount changes and if you’re like me check out cloth liners, they’re excellent.

When Merlin was not there, Arthur came to the conclusion he probably had a lover. A man most likely because why else be so secretive? Arthur was, like most men in the establishment, some poor fool who drank to get rid of the pain.

It was much later when the door suddenly opened and a lithe figure slipped in. When he stepped into the candlelight, Arthur frowned, before a big smile brightened his face.

Merlin: The tavern? Really?

Arthur jumped up from his chair, stumbling over to his servant, who looked like a deer in the headlights.

Merlin: Arthur are you drunk?

Arthur had managed to make his way over and was now pulling on Merlin's arm.

Arthur: 'm not drunk, I was just so sad

Merlin looked at the knights like they were responsible for the kings current state.

Meanwhile said king continued to pull on Merlin's sleeve until they were close enough that Arthur could wrap his arms around him, his head buried in Merlin's neck.

Arthur: don't worry, 'm not sad anymore, now you're here

Merlin, confused why his dollophead would suddenly care if he was there or not: Why were you sad?

Arthur tightened his grip: i know you have somebody, thats not fair, tell me Merlin, who is it? So I can demand a duel. I would win, Merlin, for you I would kill, for you I would die

AANHPI Heritage Month ‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚. Asian American ‧ Native Hawaiian ‧ Pacific Islander

May has been recognized as Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month since 1991, when it started as a single week of observance in the United States. Over time, the name has undergone changes to be more inclusive, while also shining a light on the very obvious flaws of lumping so many different cultural and ethnic groups under a single umbrella.

I decided to write some posts in 2024 commemorating AANHPI Heritage Month, and I like to think it was well-received and also somewhat insightful. I enjoyed the experience, on a very personal level, and promised myself to do something similar this year.

To be honest with you, friends and mutuals, my heart hurts with anger as I write this. My celebratory spirit still eludes me, buried under the ongoing stress of simply existing as I am.

On January 20, 2025, the fascists in power signed Executive Order 14148, titled "Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders." AANHPI Heritage Month and other observance months were axed, no longer recognized by the federal government; the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI), established in 1999, was dissolved.

I am filled with pain and rage. I am determined also to turn that pain and rage into action and advocacy ⸺ I hope you will do the same, both online and off. Because as long as we exist, all of us must demand to be recognized.

Let us have a productive and enlightening month.

People will get upset about poetry being a dying art and then will ignore almost all modern music with complex rhythm and lyricism because of classism and racism.

Like to say poetry isn’t dead they’ll have to admit that the best modern American poets are black people speaking in perfect iambic pentameter and critiquing the government.

Like don’t let your school lie to you poetry is supposed to be a spoken art form.

Some of the most famous poems have instrumental pieces to accompany them but they will literally go out of the way to not study songwriting as poetry.

Because if they do discuss someone like Hozier with W. B. Yeats they would then have to discuss Kendrick Lamar and Robert Frost and that would let you all know that those guys have more in common than they want you to realise and erase the myth that intellectualism is something only for the privileged.

It still makes me sad that I see mentions of Steve Irwin everywhere in animal circles, all the time, constantly, and yet almost never see anyone talk about Jeff Corwin. I know why Steve is so beloved, that dying early kinda boosted the whole hero thing, plus his family continuing his work, which keeps them in the spotlight and all.

But just!! Jeff started around the same time, I loved his original show even more at the time tbh, and he's still around and doing lots of conservation and education work!!! I just never see him brought up anywhere, or his TV shows or books or anything! And it's weird!

Anyway, I have finally been seeing a bit about him lately bc of this Jr Ranger Rick contest, which is so cool & little-me would have absolutely DIED over. I know a couple people with kids entered & I'm excited to see the outcome regardless of who wins!

*grips your shoulders* an eight year old is not gonna act like that. put the pen down. close the laptop. stop writing for a minute. volunteer at a daycare center for a week or smth. an eight year old is typically (unless they're purposely doing it, but at that point you'll be able to tell) not going to speak in one word sentences. that is a child with a possible developmental delay and should probably get an assessment done. that is a two year old with an MLU score of 2.0 who is struggling with their present possessive verbs. look up the average heights of an eight year old because i promise they're bigger than that.

if your six year old is still doing reduplicated babbling and it's not clearly an on purpose active play decision, then they should probably (re: REALLY) undergo evaluation because one of the first signs of a developmental delay is delayed speech. children begin speaking in two word utterances as young as 18 months old. three year olds on average can hold simple conversations with adults. four year olds absoLUTELy can.

i know it's super fun to write children as being dependent and clingy to their parent for your super fluffy found family child fic but that is not a six year old that is a worryingly large two year old with a mild speech delay. you don't have to be 1:1 accurate, god knows i'm not but please at least know that children on average are capable of holding simple conversations by the time they're 4, and are usually doing the baby talk stuff to be cute or as a play thing. which isn't a bad thing but if they're talking like that unironically and ALL the time, then there is likely a problem in their development.

You know what could have been a really cool AvEducation episode?

Animation vs Chess.

We've got Yellow on one side, playing the black pieces. He's the expert, all confident, technically the antagonist of this episode.

And on the other side, we have Blue. Blue knows the rules of chess, enough to play, but he is still a beginner. He will play against Yellow, learning bit by bit as the game continues.

They're in the void, and I think it would be cool if the pieces start out maybe the size of those games of "big chess", you know the ones. For the lawn or whatever. But as the game goes on and Blue falters, the pieces grow until they tower over him and it becomes much harder to get around.

I don't think Yellow would take it easy on him per say, but he might pause, maybe give little hints ("don't move or I'll be able to get you, quick take that pawn", that kind of thing)

Blue not only takes his advice, but actually learns, observing Yellow's own moves and imitating it. Maybe at one point, Yellow would give him a hint that was meant to trip him up a bit, but by now Blue knows enough to not fall for it.

In the end, I don't think Blue would be able to beat Yellow. You don't go from being a beginner to beating a master in one game. But Yellow is a good sport, and Blue wants to get better, so they settle in for another game.
