Let's help some girlies out by commenting or reblogging with your favorite self care products! Could be skincare, makeup, hair care, body care, etc! I'm always looking for some new products/tools to try so I thought this would be a good way to spread some helpful info!
Here's a few of my favorites:
🩷 Skincare:
I love face masks and eye masks! My current favorite face mask is the Red Bean Pore Refreshing Face Mask by Beauty of Joseon and my favorite eye masks are The Creme Shop Work Hard Rest Hard eye masks!
🩷 Body Care
body scrubs/body butters! I love using two similar scents together! For the summer, I use Tree Hurt Tropic Glow scrub and body butter and for winter I use Dove Exfoliating Scrub in Brown Sugar and the EOS Vanilla Cahsmete Lotion.
🩷 Hair Care
No specific product recommendations for this, but I love oiling my scalp twice a week! It makes my hair feel and look so beautiful! I currently use The Ordinary Moroccan Argan Oil and I use a scalp massager to gently massage the oil onto my scalp after applying it with warm fingers.
Hair Masks!!! I love the Shea Mositure Raw Shea Butter Hydration Mask so much, I use it with conditioner on my hair oiling days and my hair has never looked better.
🩷 Makeup
I love the Essence Tinted Brow Gel because even if I don't do much makeup, it makes me feel and look a little more put together.
Same goes for the Ulta Beauty Gel Eyeliner in Dark Brown, it makes me look and feel so much better some days, and it's not super bold like liquid liner so I don't feel the need to use Mascara.
Lip Oils!!! Milani Fruit Fetish and Elf Revive are my two favorites!! I have Milani In Cherry Lime and Elf in Jam Session. So moisturizing and a bit tinted so it makes me feel so good when I have it on. Even when I wear a bare face, I always use one of these to elevate my look!
🩷 Miscellaneous
Vitamin/Mineral supplements! I only take ones I know will work for me or ones I'm deficient in. I currently take Vitamin D3 and Aple Cider Vinegar supplements but I am looking into taking Magnesium Gylcinate and Ashwagandha soon as well!
Self care hobbies and routines! My gentle morning routine, journaling, yoga, a wind down night routine, and reading informative books has been so helpful for me!
I'm personally looking for hair growth tips and tools (like the efficiency of silk hair wraps or silk pillow cases, hair growth oils and supplements, etc), any and all skincare tips and tools (like ice face rollers, are gua sha effective, etc), and even body care products recommendations as well!!

Hello!
So from a purely physical perspective :
Are you eliminating properly ? (Do you go everyday?) - If not, focus on having regular bowel movements everyday and the bloating could subside just with that. Some things you can do for that are : Move everyday (could be gentle movements such as yoga, pilates, or even just walking), Drink enough water for your body weight, Eat more protein, as well as fiber to facilitate estrogen detox and to flush things out, and check your stomach acid levels, if they’re low you might want to try digestive bitters to facilitate the digestion process (Organic Olivia has a nice one in spray format).
I also recommend checking if you’re not magnesium deficient, as this mineral plays an important role in digestion, and in our body in general. Most people are deficient in Magnesium. If you do choose to supplement with it, I recommend the sunwarrior brand, its liquid and quite bitter, but its the best one ive tried composition wise!
Aside from that, here are some herbal teas that can help with bloating : Ginger & Mint, Dandelion root, Spearmint or Peppermint, Rose petal & Hibiscus.
Deep belly breathing exercises, Belly massages, and Foot massages to stimulate MMC (migrating motor complex) can all be great additions to your routine 🫶🏽.
Now from an emotional / mental perspective :
Bloating can occur when we are resisting something, bottling up emotions, or experiencing fear or anxiety. It’s our body’s way of trying to get our attention, urging us to get out of our heads and into our bodies, our emotions : to feel instead of analyze or strategize.
You might greatly benefit from journaling (no filter, write everything that comes up or that has been on your mind), mindfulness (sit with yourself and feel what comes up, do not resist, do not analyze, simply be present with yourself), Prayer (casting the burden on a Power Higher than you is liberating, knowing that you are ultimately seen and taken care of, regardless of what the circumstances are currently looking like).
If you’re up to do a bit of reading, I highly recommend these books : The emotion code by Dr Bradley Nelson, and Your body’s telling you : love yourself by Lise Bourbeau.

This is my current routine/rules for keeping myself healthy-ish while having an ed (kind of harm reduction
Tw cals, food mention
I never eat less than 600 cals a day, it leads to binging and depression for me.
I don't do extremely intense workouts. For me, it raises my cortisol levels and leads to feeling weak and binging. I do a mobility exercise video in the morning and then I do a walking workout video in the afternoon. Though if I get a job that will change slightly, but still the same intensity.
I take vitamin d, vitamin e, folic acid, iron, and magnesium + zinc.
I use ogx's coconut miracle oil at least 1 hour before I shower, it protects hair from water fatigue
I use ogx's coconut oil serum, I spray an argon oil leave in conditioner on damp hair then a very small amount of serum.
I eat tuna and/or salmon 3 times a week. You can also take fish oil supplements or eat an omega 3 trail mix but I prefer fish because it has a lot of protein
Speaking of protein, I eat as much as I can. It can be hard because the diet foods I eat don't have a lot. Here's a list of foods I eat that have protein:
Dannon light and fit Greek yogurt (80 cals, 12g protein)
Protein powder in coffee (about 36-38 cals depending on the brand, I use 2 tablespoons and blend it with 4oz almond milk and pour it in my coffee. You can also buy it pre made, super coffee is 80 cals with 10g protein. They also sell creamer with 15 cals 1g protein)
Fish like salmon and tuna
Frozen meals. Healthy choice has power bowls that normally have about 20g of protein or more for 300+ cals. Most frozen meal brands have a protein line
Pb2. I use this when I have a banana so there's protein with it, 60 cals and 6g protein
Protein bars, my favorite is the quest white chocolate raspberry

Water, self explanatory. Try to use electrolyte packets, low calorie and very needed. Propel is the brand I prefer
I take naps. When I work I take naps on my days off, must be at least 30 minutes but preferably 90 minutes. Sleep is so important
If you struggle with sleeping too much, add more fruit/cals into your diet. Get a really loud alarm and the first thing you do when you wake up is eat a citrus fruit or a banana. I know bananas are scary but they work great. Cut one in half or get small ones and eat one a day. And of course coffee can help. Drink green tea with lunch, caffeinated.
Using a shampoo and conditioner that work well for my hair. No, drugstore haircare will not ruin your hair. If you have the trademark dry, brittle hair that comes with this, use a sulfate free shampoo, and a conditioner with silicones in it, use pre shampoo oil treatments and limit how much you wash your hair. Use a clarifying shampoo once a week or once a month depending on how dry your hair is. Try to get a satin bonnet to sleep in or spray leave in conditioner and use a hair oil then braid your hair before bed. Trust me, hair oil on your mids and ends can help. Ogx sells mists for fine hair, those work great. If you have thick hair use the coconut serum. Make sure you're using leave in conditioner after showering
Be insanely gentle with your hair, no elastics or tight hairstyles. Comb your hair with your fingers first, gently detangling with your fingers before brushing from the bottom up, very lightly. Use leave in conditioner before you brush. Use a wide tooth comb on wet hair and do not rub your hair with a towel. Gently squeeze until excess water is removed. Try to limit brushing with a hairbrush or comb to once or twice a day.
Use cuticle oil, ideally it has vitamin e in it. I got mine off Amazon. Make sure it's on your cuticles and nails
Use lotion on your body after every shower. I know it's annoying and tiring but it will help combat the dull skin that happens, try to find one with hyaluronic acid
For face skin, use a gentle cleanser or just water unless your skin is oily, then you can get away with more medicated options. Use a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid in it. My top picks are peach slices snail rescue moisturizers (regular for normal to dry skin, oil free for oily skin), vanicream daily facial moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and for very dry skin cerave moisturizing cream in a tub (you can find knockoffs, mine is Walmart brand)
Cleansers I like for when the 3d effects skin is vanicream gentle cleanser, cerave sa cleanser for if you still have oily skin, Cetaphil sensitive skin cleanser and CeraVe cream to foam cleanser (you can find knockoffs for most of these products)
Use a niacinamide serum if you can afford it and your skin can handle it, it will brighten up your face.
I use a body serum but it is not a necessity, but for anyone who wants to try it I use the b.fresh brightening body serum, you could also use their dull to dewy one, its also good
I eat healthy fats, this comes from peanut butter, fish, avocado, eggs, dark chocolate and chia seeds
I have one day a month that I can have a normal portion of food I really want but make me guilty normally (Chinese takeaway, taco bell, Wendy's, McDonald's etc) it cannot be a binge, but it would be more than I normally eat.
This is not intentional but on Friday and Saturday I do eat more because I am with my boyfriend. All normal portions for the most part. I just eat more and things I wouldn't normally have like regular peanut butter honey toast, poptarts, spaghetti, etc.
I try not to weigh myself every day. I don't weigh in on Sunday or Monday because I know I will be bloated from the increase in cals
I use a cavity preventing toothpaste and mouth wash. And I at least floss once a day. I use whitening toothpaste one day a week for both times I brush that day
These things help me stay healthy and sane while I am currently in the midst of my 3d. Not all of them will work, but maybe some may be useful to others.

It had been a terribly long walk from the green room to the studio, where upon arriving, Rupert was too feeble to even stand on his own. All the while, he continued to blow out his ass, sending a wealth of mush directly into the seat of his pampers.
Not wanting the audience to see the nitty-gritty of Rupert’s recovery, the rest of the Messers, led by the ER team, escorted Rupert backstage. With a stethoscope pressed to Rupert’s tummy, the ER woman spoke candidly, “Yup, just as I thought. Overuse of CrissBaby products has caused this a couple of times. What we’ve got on our hands is a cut-and-dry case of Hypermesser’s Syndrome.”
“W-Wait, what does that mean?” asked Kyoko, who knew perhaps the least of everyone here. She’d arrived in the studio a handful of minutes before her friends, only to watch Rupert collapse seemingly out of nowhere, “I-I don’t get he was fine when I left! What the heck happened?!” She looked to Zeke, her eyes demanding answers that he did not have.
Thankfully, the ER woman was there to put racing minds at ease. “It’s not harmful, just a real harsh kick to the tummy,” she said candidly, giving Rupert’s messy rear a gentle pat, “It’s an issue we sometimes see when Lightning Laxatives combine with Bowel Busting Formula to create a feedback loop within the bowels. Looking over at Cade, he could see just how hurt he was that Kyoko was so willing to brush off Rupert’s ailments for the sake of the game. He placed a hand on Kyoko’s shoulder, knowing that someone needed to talk some sense into her, “Kyoko, it’s just a game. Maybe they’ll postpone the third round until tomorrow or something. And even if they don’t-”
“SHHHHH! I’m in the middle of something, Zeke,” said Kyoko, not hearing a single word of Zeke’s calming statement. Instead, her focus was lasered in on Rupert and the medical professional treating him, “Be straight with me doc, can he play?”
Placing a hand on the back of her neck, the ER woman sighed, “In theory, I could perform an emergency enema to clean his system out, as well as give him some magnesium supplements for the brain fog, but I can’t promise he’ll be in any condition to compete. That’s a lot of stress on the body for what should be a natural process and will likely result in irreversible damage to his bowel muscles and mental capacity.”

We’re already blowing up the schedule at this point,” said Keelee starkly, pushing her emotions deep down to say what needed to be said, “If he can’t compete, then we’ll still have to get the final round with the Wetters shot tonight and script Round Three to be filmed during tomorrow’s planned reshoots to avoid paying for a third day of production. It’s a bummer but that’s show business.”
Crouching down so that her face was at eye level with Rupert, Kyoko placed a tender hand on his cheek. “Y-You’re okay, right, Rupert? What’s one little enema, right?” she said, desperation baked into every word she said.
The other contestants and crew members averted their gaze, unable to watch Kyoko resort to begging. All except for Zeke, who was caught in the middle of being worried for his friends and furious at Kyoko. Taking a deep breath, the temper he’d managed to keep a lid on all day finally reared its ugly head. “It’s over, Kyoko!” he said sharply, causing everyone’s eyes to turn to him, “It’s over. We did our best but we’re not going to encourage, nay, force Rupert out onto that stage based on nothing but greed.”
A stunned silence filled the area backstage. Even passerby crew members stopped working and talking, tuning in for the real-life drama that was unfolding. Kyoko opened her mouth to respond but nothing came out. Could she really defend what she was doing? Had she become that heartless?
“I want…to play.”
Suddenly, all eyes landed on Rupert, who had broken through his brain fog enough to speak to understand what was going on. “W-Whatever you gotta do…do it…” he said, his words instantly taking the weight off of Kyoko’s shoulders.
“See?! He wants to play!” said Kyoko excitedly. She leaned in and planted a big, wet kiss on Rupert’s forehead, “We’re gonna get you back on your feet, you beautiful bastard.”
Once again, the backstage area was lively as the production crew got back to work preparing to shoot Round Three while the ER specialists began prepping Rupert for his emergency enema. The two people not buzzing around were Zeke and Cade, who could only offer each other looks of dreadful concern.
Meanwhile, a far different sort of drama was unfolding with the four Wetters in the main studio space. Standing stiffly on opposite sides of their team’s starting mat with their arms crossed were Mia and Misa, neither of whom was willing to be the one to bend first. Not that their obvious disdain for each other was stopping Lelaya from running back and forth in hopes of patching things up. “Misa, pleeeeeeease! Just hear out was Mia has to say!” she said, jogging in place with hands clasping Misa’s shoulder.
“There’s nothing I need to hear from that traitor. I hope she gets thrown in the trash with all the other dirty diapers from this place so I never have to hear from her again,” said Misa, punctuating her sentence with a sharp head swivel and a well-timed, “Hmmph!”
Lowering her head like a downtrodden puppy, Lelaya backed away from Misa slowly. “O-Okay, I’ll be sure to let her know,” she said, her bunny ears drooping slightly as she tried to maintain the pep in her voice despite the dire situation. Rushing to the other side of the platform, she tapped Mia on the shoulder, prompting her to strain her peripheral vision toward Lelaya, “Misa wanted me to tell you that she hopes that you uh…something, something…end up in a dirty diaper pail? I dunno, it was a lot and she was talking super fast.”
“Don’t worry, I heard more than enough,” said Mia, puffing out her cheeks as she geared up to say the harshest thing she could think of, “You tell that little crybaby that if she’s expecting an apology, she can go searching through that diaper pail she wants me thrown into.”
Sulking back to Misa, Lelaya was not built to handle this kind of conflict. “H-Hey Misa, Mia said that-”
“You tell her that I wouldn’t even want her stupid fucking apology if she gave it,” said Misa, cutting Lelaya off mid-sentence as she’d already heard everything Mia had said.
Without saying another word, Lelaya began crossing back over to where Mia was standing, only for Ayaya to stop her midway. “Oh, will you three just stop!” she said, groaning as she let her head slouch back, “I do not give a FUCK who started it, who finished it, whatever! You two don’t have to like each other anymore to work together. HOW DO YOU THINK THIS ENTIRE INDUSTRY OPERATES?!” Exhaling deeply, she let her words hang heavy in the air over Mia and Misa’s heads.
Ayaya wasn’t far from wrong. In an industry made up of hundreds of thousands of people, the bulk of Hollywood managed to stay functioning in spite of the fact that everyone was constantly clawing over each other for acting roles and vital crew positions. Feeling her years of friendship with Mia and Misa slipping through her fingers, Lelaya’s hand tightened around Ayaya’s. If Misa was that serious about never interacting with diapers again, what did that mean for the two of them?

Just don’t expect any help when you find yourself filling another diaper,” said Mia, her eyes meeting Misa’s unflinchingly. trying to avoid acknowledging the pain she and Misa were causing their dear friend. As Ayaya did her best to comfort Lelaya, the two girls bottled up their guilt and steeled their nerves. There was still plenty of game left to play, something both Mia and Misa were begrudgingly aware of.

I'm in a mood again. I feel like this happens a lot but yet I can't stop it. I just don't want to do anything. There's stuff I need to do I want done. Hell, there's even things I want to do but I just can't make myself do it. I'm hungry but I don't feel like eating either I just want to lay down for awhile but I know it would cut into the rest of my day and I would regret it. I guess either way I'm not accomplishing anything.
I wish I had some edible still they really help even out my moodiness. I've been wearing these stress patches with valerian, passion flower, and hops. So far I think it's helpful and I'm going to keep using them, also a sticker on my wrist I can't feel is a super easy way to do a little bit for my mental health. It's also the time of day where I need to take vitamins and my weekly vitamin d prescription. My twice daily antibiotics say not to take within 2 hours of vitamin supplements. So it's been tricky to remember a vitamin in the middle of the day. I think that could help restore some energy. Also if I just got up and ate something would probably help too...
I'm going to start taking omega 3 7 and 9s so *hopefully * I don't get the seasonal depression this year. My mood might not be great but I sure don't feel like I did when I was depressed. At least not yet? Anyways I'm trying to be proactive about that. Also when we pick up Loki next week I'll be outside walking him everyday along with using my elliptical so I just need an upper body work out and the exercise aspect of my health will be in check.
I've been doing really well at not buying junk food or not ordering junk when I go out. I've always struggled to maintain an appetite so sometimes I do eat junk just because it's better than eating nothing. I'm trying to be gentle with myself because it took a very long time to develop a realistic relationship with food for me. I'm down to 116 but I'm sure that's not accurate as I was dehydrated and needed to eat again. I only weigh myself about once a week because I'm scared to obsess over it. Also things are going well!! 24 pounds down just from healthy eating is amazing. Now that I'm exercising again I'm hopeful things will continue to improve.
My weight was causing health problems and I need to go back for more blood work I'm just hoping to lose enough weight to have actually resolved my problems by the time I go. I think my physical health in improving though just due to the fact I'm feeling better. I've even been able to skip the muscle relaxers and sleeping pills sometimes.
I've also gotten annoyed at the amount of pills I have to take (again) and so I've been trying things other than my prescriptions:
- Icey-hot is good on my back but I can't use it on my entire legs which sucks.
-Arnica pellets combined with ibuprofen seems to work better than either alone.
-Moon mints I'm very unsure of. They taste fucking awesome though.
- Essential oils are fun but no where near as helpful as people want you to believe.
I'm thinking about buying a melatonin vape because I'm so tired of all the pills. I have some that dissolve in your mouth but I don't like them.
I've also been drink clam magnesium drink for my muscles post work out and for better sleep. It's too soon to say if it helps. My muscles definitely feel weak but not sore? So maybe it's good.
Also I got these little silicone rings you clip on your septum that smells like lavender and the other one is lemon.
So I've been doing a lot of shit in addition to spiritual reading, meditation, sensory regulation, and other self care type things.
SO if I'm messed up it is not for lack of trying.
