a batfam headcanon that has no basis in canon but i would rather drink gotham harbour water before i stop believing is that all of dicks siblings fight over who gets to dog-sit haley every time dick goes out of town on a titans mission. the catch is they don't want him knowing that they just really want to spend time with him

jason claims he needs to get away from bruce's eyes but really he likes the chill time he can spend reading. haley curls up on his stomach when he's lying on the sofa and he feels very at peace. when dick comes back he cooks a big dinner and they just sit together and watch movies, jason often talling dick all about his latest book

tim wants to take bernard away for a weekend and have some fun, and that blüdhaven is close enough that he can run back and do robin duties. they have fun piecing together who owns what in the city and they end up assisting dick with some of his cases

bruce takes damian who takes titus and they have a doggy playdate. bruce sees it as an opportunity to spend time with his son and damian would never admit it, but he enjoys the down time with his father. they normally stay a day or two after dick gets back and the three of them do normal family things

cass goes with steph and, along with babs, they have a girls trip, which normally includes them taking down multiple organised crime families, a night of cluedo where they all get incredibly competitive, and giving haley a proper bath for once. dick joins in with the games but that doesn't last long before they're watching whatever trashy dating show is currently on and shouting at the screen whenever a bad decision is made

duke doesn't go for it. not because he doesn't want to, but he's the one who walks haley on the days dick is passed out from his night shift. this came about bc he just asked dick if he wanted help with her. dick often joins him if he is awake

I absolutely love Nightwing and his puppy Bitewing! Her costume from issue #98 of the current run is so cool. I loved drawing this duo!

I hope we keep seeing her in the future! 🐾

Dick is being a total theater kid about narrating Haley's valiant battle with the vacuum. And, of course, annoying Tim in the process. Win-win!

Hah he's so exasperated. Also how did Tim track in that much dirt??? Did he get chucked in a mud puddle?

The wagging tail effect is a nice touch.

HAH! See, Tim, you just need to somehow bribe Dick with peanut butter to get out of cleaning.

LMAO I LOVE THIS MAN like he is already ridiculously hot all by himself and incredibly charming, this guy was a circus performer and then Robin for his entire life growing up, he knows how to be a charmer, and he’s still like, “You know what I’m gonna do to charm the pants off the woman I love?”  Not his amazing face, not his amazing personality, not even their deep connection to each other.  NOPE, HE BRINGS AN ADORABLE LITTLE DOG, like, you’ll totally let me in even though it’s late and I have betrayed you horribly by starting our show, because CUTE DOGGO, right?  :D?  And he is 100% right.

A love letter to Haley Grayson

to honour her introduction into WFA canon, let me introduce you to my actual favourite DC character, the little three-legged pitbull (but i prefer her as a staffy) puppy...

Haley

god i could go on about bitewing so much but we'll give you the run down of her as she is iconic

so, haley was first introduced in Nightwing (2016) Issue 78, the first of Tom Taylor's run. she is being chased and tormented by some thugs in Blüdhaven and Dick saves her

he takes her home and tells babs he is taking her to the pound and babs is like "no you aren't" and she was right.

in issue 80, she makes her first journey to vigilante status by joining Tim as he goes to talk to the street kids

she then gets blessed with her codename by Tim in issue 81, giving us her two names, Haley and Bitewing

she mostly exists to be cute but hen in issue 87, she gets kidnapped!

who would be so cruel!

but dick and babs save her and we get a cute family photo

she's mostly just for cuteness for a while but she makes an appearance in issue 90, when dick's apartment is blown up and he goes to stay with wally. nothing important happens with her but i have to point it out

Then issue 98 happens

Nite-mite gives haley a cute matching outfit and she can talk!!!

so they go on an adventure and its super cute and haley saves the day of course

she makes a brief appearance in issue 100 but her next notable one is in issue 105, the wonderful first person issue

he appears again in 106 with gar and it is very cute

the other amazing haley moment is in the 2022 annual where we get this awesome dream sequence where haley is Bitewing again and she trashes the apartment. it's so good and so cute

TL;DR Haley is the best DC character and you cannot tell me otherwise
