hey y’all. i need some help. I’m a 2Spirit mahu (Cherokee/Kootenai/Kanaka) queer person working in cannabis and cannabis education, as well as community person and SA victim advocacy. I love my community and have and will do anything for it.

it’s been a year from hell- I took my abuser to court and my family disowned me, I was diagnosed with severe CPTSD and depression, and the one person in my family that was helping me died very suddenly. i fought like hell to get where I am, saved everything I could and worked odd jobs, landed myself a job that I’m slowly climbing the ropes at, and finally got me and my partner an apartment near more chosen family.

still, finances are very, very tight, and as much as I hate to do it I have to ask for some more help. I’m currently looking at some better opportunities, but I need help. rent is coming up for me on the 15th and i have (barely) enough for it, but i won’t have enough for all my utilities and things. i’m setting a goal of $300 for this week, to cover my utilities for March and some other xtra to make sure we have groceries and can eat.

I’ve worked so hard for this- I don’t want to fall short now.

Hey everyone, I’m so sorry to be asking for money again, but things are very tight right now. I quit my abusive retail job (no more constant casual sexual harassment, yay) but it’s hard getting on my feet with my delivery job when so much of the money just has to go immediately back into gas and maintenance on my car. I’ve got a doctor’s appointment next week to continue my HRT, and then the cost of those prescriptions to deal with as well. Haven’t been driving long enough to get that health insurance stipend yet. It’d be great to be able to afford those and not be living quite so day-to-day, yknow?

Guys, I'm sorry to ask, but I need some help.

My dog, Apollo, was recently to the vet to have something checked out that we were concerned with.

Initial assessment is that he has a lipoma (fatty tumor) on his...booty hole. Literally like, on the rim. I thought it might have been a hemorrhoid or something and he'd just need some cream to soothe it and more fiber in his diet, but no.

So I've started a goal on Kofi to raise money for his surgery. This includes the surgery itself, and any pain medication or 'cone of shame' he will need after.

It is definitely a surgery he needs to have, the vet said the more it grew it would start to affect his ability to go to the bathroom, stopping it completely if it got big enough.

If you can't donate, I understand. Sharing is a great way to support too. If I am unable to raise the money needed for the surgery I may need to look into rehoming him to someone who can pay, which I really don't want to do.

I got him just months after leaving the military so he is very important to me, but in the end I will do what I must so he can be healthy. After all, it's not his fault my job situation and finances have been shitty the past year.

Some things about Apollo:

He loves nothing as much as he loves cucumbers.

Peanut butter is a close second.

He loves the big girls, ie Great Danes and Mastiffs. He's 70 pounds.

He loves seeing 'the girls' at the groomers, and when he sees where we've gone, you'd swear he had husky in his Bloodline.

The only squirrel he hates more than the half-tail gray one, is the strange black one that has slowly multiplied over the years. He's convinced that one is breeding its own army.

He loves watching the morning doves that frequent the back yard. They remind him of the feathery friend we used to have in the house.

Hey, I don't really like having to e-beg but the last few months have been really bad and I need help covering the bill for my cat's dental treatment. She's FIV+, which means that her dental care is super necessary to prevent even more expensive tooth extractions, but my difficulty finding work has made it impossible for me to cover the cost.

Hey everybody! Chodesh tov! Long time no posts. My apologies. I'm chronically ill and my condition took a severe turn for the worse in Elul from which I still haven't recovered. This blog's posting schedule was one of many casualties to that calamity.

So I'm here asking for assistance in the form of assistants. I want 1-3 other yids willing to write and post daily holiday summaries with me. The next six months will be pretty smooth sailing-- I got that far last year and I've got a spreadsheet with the events for each day. The from Cheshvan 5786 onwards to Adar things get a little bit more complicated because there are a lot more gaps in my spreadsheet that still need to be filled with research. I'm looking for a wide range of Jewish history including the entire diaspora and all Jewish movements, but because most of the sources I can find with compendiums of Jewish "on this day" trivia are both Orthodox and Ashkenazi in approach, they haven't been quite as diverse yet as I'd like.

So here's the call for applicants. Aftg fans I need help

Im looking for a fanart of (what I believe to be) Neil and Andrew. They are not together it is both of them being threatened with death at different points in the series. I don't remember Andrew but I believe Neil has a gun to his forehead and is looking unrestrained and manic. It is a fairly sketchy style and doesn't have background. I believe it has some color but i don't think it's fully shaded. I think Niel was in the top right and Andrew was in the bottom left, but I could b very wrong about it

First,

On the night of January 18th, our family home was completely destroyed in a fire. We lost everything. The only things we were able to save were two computers and some photos.

There were seven of us children, aged between 23 and 7, along with our mother and three cats. (We’ve only managed to find one of our cats, but the other two are still missing). Our chickens had to be rehomed with friends after the fire.

The fire was caused by our landlord’s negligence. he would often leave large fire unattended behind our barn all night, and this time it spread, consuming both the barn and our house. Thankfully, we que all unharmed, but we are left with nothing

We are currently receiving some support from our village in the form of clothing and food, for which we are incredibly grateful. However, we remain homeless and are facing many challenges. Legal action against our landlord is proving difficult due to high attorney costs, and dealing with insurance has been overwhelming difficult. Unfortunately, our family is not eligible for much government assistance.

A friend of my sister has set up a GoFundMe to help us rebuild our lives, and I also have a Ko-fi account. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help us find some stability again. Sharing our fundraiser would also be an incredible help.

100 Parent Points

Hey, does anyone remember a Tumblr fic from years ago. I've nicknamed it "100 parent points", I don't remember if that was his actual title.

The basic premise was that you adopted children through an organization of child shelters basically. And children were rated. For 10,000 parent points, you could functionally purchase, or adopt, a child who had been given many toys, were one-on-one tutored, had been taught music, spoke multiple languages, kept clean and beautiful and attractive.

For 100 parent points you could adopt a child, buy a child, who lived, were raised in a room with peeling wallpaper paper and 20 steel bunk beds and one bored under educated teacher / assistant/minder and like, the food was adequate? But the kids were dirty and bored and didn't have books or toys...

Extended metaphor was extended, ANYHOW

In the story we see these rooms through the mind of the narrator, who shows up in a beautiful car with beautiful expensive clothes, looks like they will be a prestigious adopter. The head of the orphanage is all atwitter about helping this man find his ideal child.

The man makes the orphanage head take him to see ALL of the rooms, though of course she assumes he wants "the best" children, takes him to the 10000 point room first, introduces all the children by name and resume... And how the rooms get poorer and dirtier, the care increasingly diffident as they move back through the facility...

SPOILERS he tells her he grew up in such a facility, in the 100 point room. He found success for himself, focused on earning the Parent Points, and now will be living his childhood dream of adopting the ENTIRE ROOM of 100 point children.

Going through my files I apparently began a sequel kind of fic based off this story, but don't think I saved the original fic for reference. (It's possible I stashed a link in my pinned post, I need to go through the notes and check)

Anyone remember this story, or have a hack for the abysmal Tumblr search function??

E Begging to feed my family

An employment oppurtunity that we were told was basically in the bag has been rescinded (alongside several other positions applied for at the same spot) because management found out my mother worked there to ensure we had water and electricity

this means our expected cashflow has dried up completely and suddenly, and now our budget is stretched to its breaking point

We have next to no money for food for our household of three, and no way of providing for our 5 cats who were caretaking from our apartment eviction to keep them out of a shelter and off the streets
