It was finally Thanksgiving, which meant for the entire day, the smell of delicious food flooded the house. Like most of us already know, Joe hates turkey, so for every thanksgiving we have been together for, ham has been on the menu. There was currently a ham in the oven, along with mac and cheese that was in the fridge waiting for me to put it in the oven, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and cheesy potatoes, all of which Joe helped make. The entire day was spent making the foods for dinner tonight. On thanksgiving every year, there is always a semi big gathering. Among those people are Joe's parents, Joe's grandparents, and Joe's brothers and their wives and kids. Because of everything that's been going on and the stress of picking out a doctor for joes surgery, we were all a little unsure of how thanksgiving was going to be, but Joe insisted that it needed to be the same as every year, and this year, since we just moved into our new house, we were having it over our house.
Every single food on the menu was done and either in the oven or in the fridge that was going to be heated up prior to dinner, so right now Joe and I were making the dough for the pumpkin pie. Usually I would stick to the lazy and easy side of things and use a premade crust, but since it was thanksgiving and Joe deserves it, I was making a homemade crust. Because we made sure to start everything early, we were right on track to have the pumpkin pie in the oven just in time for the guests to start arriving since everyone came about an hour or two before we ate dinner. In the background, the song New Person, Same Old Mistakes, by Tame Impala started to play from Joes speaker. Joe has some songs on his playlist that I don't like since I don't like a lot of rap songs, but he has a few that I really love, and this is one of them. I never knew about tame impala until he introduced me to them a few years ago, and now I love them.
I started to bop my head to the song and move my body to the rhythm of the song while putting the dough into the pie container. I moved my shoulders and body to the beat, and soon Joe joined in and started to dance with me a little bit. I couldn't help it, I loved this song. I grabbed the rolling pin that I set down after rolling out the dough and held it up like it was a microphone. "I can just hear them now, 'how could you let us down?' But they don't know what I found, or see it from this way round." I started to sing into my 'microphone' while dancing some more and walking around the island. "Oh yeah, now it's gettin' lit." Joe laughed and grabbed onto a spoon so he could sing the next lyrics. "Feeling it overtake, all that I used to hate. One by one every trait I tried, but it's way too late. All the signs I don't read. Two sides of me can't agree. Will I be in too deep?" Joe sang and gestured to me to sing this next part.
While we sang, we were a laughing mess. The both of us sucked at singing, although we loved to sing. "Going with what I always longed for...feel like a brand new person." I sang. "But you'll make the same old mistakes." Joe sang the next part that was quieter. "I don't care, I'm in love." I sang while making a little heart sign with my hands at Joe. I spun in a little circle and reached Joe who grabbed ahold of my hand and raised it above my head so I could spin. "Stop before it's too late, I know there's too much at stake." I sang. "Making the same mistakes." Joe sang. After he sang this, I prepared myself for the next high note and sang, "and I still don't know why it's happening." The both of us laughed, knowing I totally butchered the high note.
When the song was over and we sang pretty much the whole song, give or take a few lines that we missed while we danced, we went back to making our pumpkin pie. Once we were all done with it, Joe stuck it in the oven and I sat myself down on the island counter and kicked my feet while waiting, my stomach growling a little bit. Joe looked at me sitting on the island and started to walk my way. I spread my legs apart so Joe could step between them, so when he did, I wrapped my legs around his waist instinctively and pulled him closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck and ran my fingers through his soft hair. Joe put his hands on my waist.
"I love Thanksgiving so much, mostly for the food" I laughed. Joe nodded with a sigh and kissed my lips. "I love any day I get to spend with my wife." Joe said. My cheeks flushed red and butterflies soared through my stomach. "Damn, you fluster so easily." Joe said with a little chuckle. "It's the Joe Sheisty effect, I swear." I laughed. "Ah, okay, we can go with that." Joe joked. The both of us looked into each others eyes for a second too long until our eyes shifted to each others lips and then back up to each others eyes. After a few seconds, Joe leaned forwards and captured my lips in his. I turned my head to the right for easier access as our lips moved in perfect harmony, like they were made for each other. As we kissed, Joe slipped one of his hands under my shirt. I let out the faintest moan when his cold hands hit my skin, not expecting the cold, and I arched my back slightly.
With his hand under my shirt, he began to run his cool fingers up and down my back as we kissed. With the other hand, he brought it up and cupped my cheek. I ran my fingers through his hair, over his shoulders, down to his biceps, then his back muscles. Our hands explored each other's body's as if we hadn't touched each other in years and forgot what we felt like. Joe released my lips and began to kiss my jaw which then turned into my neck. Joe began to suck and kiss at my neck, making sure not to stay in one place too long and leave magenta marks. I sucked in a small breath at the feeling of his lips on my neck and leaned my head back slightly as Joe moved my hair out of his way. I repeatedly let out soft moans. I felt his teeth graze my soft skin before he got to the spot that always felt amazing. He began to suck and kiss even more, knowing this was my spot. I let out a few more soft moans, loving the feeling and not wanting him to ever stop.
"You are the most gorgeous woman in this entire universe," Joe said, taking his hips off of my neck for a second, "in any universe." His lips attached to my neck once again as butterflies fluttered their tiny wings in my stomach at Joes words of affirmation. I started to lift up my skirt for easy access while Joe leaned back slightly. Just as Joe started to unbuttoned his pants and unzip them, I heard a car pull into the driveway. "Shit." Joe and I said at the same time. "Shit." We both said again once we realized what we were about to do. Joe zipped his pants back up quickly while I situated my panties and then jumped down from the counter. We both laughed at how in sync we were and then I looked down at Joes hard-on. "Do you think you can really be in front of your family like that?" I asked Joe with a small smirk, knowing he didn't fully realize yet. He probably felt it, but didn't realize how bad it was. "What do you mean? I thought you liked this shirt." Joe said. I couldn't help but laugh at Joe and how he was so unaware of what was going on. "Do you really want your family to know what we were doing before they got here?" I asked Joe.
Joe just raised an eyebrow out of confusion and said, "how would they know?" I slapped my forehead a little bit and then said, "you have a fucking boner Joe." I started to laugh when Joes eyes got all wide and looked down to see the tent in his pants that was gradually getting bigger. "Shit." Joe said quickly and covered himself with his hands. "Go upstairs and take care of...that," I said, gesturing to the tent in his pants, "and I'll go get the door for whoever is here and tell them that you spilled something on yourself and needed to change." I said. "This is your fault." Joe said with a little laugh as he started to run up the stairs. "What? You started it" I laughed. Just as I started following Joe to the stairs that were near the door, someone knocked at the door. "If you weren't so gorgeous, I wouldn't get horny." Joe said just before he turned and started to sprint up the stairs.
I shook my head with a laugh and then walked to the door. I unlocked it and then opened it up to greet whoever was standing outside of it. My face lit up when my eyes landed on Robin and Jimmy, who of course were the first ones here, like always. "Hello my favorite daughter in law! Oh, the house looks amazing!" Robin said and pulled me into a ginormous and tight hug. "Thank you!" I said and smiled at Jimmy who was looking at the place with a big smile on his face. After I hugged Robin, I hugged Jimmy and then I invited them inside. After I invited them in, Jimmy was holding in a laugh on the side of Robin who started laughing. "What? Come in!" I said, excited that they were going to be in this house for the first time since it's been decorated since we just moved in a week ago.
"I think you got a little something on your, uh-chest." Robin said, her face slightly red from laughing. I looked down at my chest to see Joes hand print he made with the flour that I was totally oblivious to. I brushed the flour off of my shirt as fast as I could while my face flushed red out of embarrassment. I moved to the side so Robin and Jimmy could walk in and then shut the door behind them with a little sigh and said to myself, "you're an idiot." When I turned back around, I gave a quick smile to Robin and Jimmy who were still calming their laughter after what they saw. "Where's my son? Don't tell me he's playing video games." Robin said. "He's upstairs changing, he spilled something on himself." I said. "Flour?" Jimmy said with a laugh.
With a little groan and then a laugh, I walked past them and they followed me to the living room. Because I knew more people would want to see The house in its entirety, I waited to give the tour of the house until everyone showed up. When Joe came down, he greeted his parents and then one by one, more people arrived. First, it was Jamie and his wife Stella, and their son Justin, and then Dan and his wife Jenna, and their daughters Penelope and Emily, then Joe's grandparents. Once everyone was here, I gave them a tour of the house while Joe got all of the food ready and brought it to the dining room table. Through most of the tour, there were ooh's and awe's, especially in the game and bar area downstairs and the movie theatre. When we were done with the tour, we made our way to the living room where we talked for a little bit and then we finally decided it was time for dinner.
We all sat down and started eating right away, all of us starving because we made sure to save lots of room for food. There were conversations all around the dinner table between multiple different people, but I was currently talking with Jenna and Robin about Jenna's new therapist job that she just got. She was working for a smaller company, but after a lot of consideration, she decided to move to a bigger company. "I was just unhappy at my old job and this new one offers a lot more than the other place...and the money isn't bad either." Jenna said with a little smirk and head tilt at the end. "Girl go get that bag. Plus, life's too short to be miserable in any aspect of it." I said with a little shrug, justifying her decision. "Amen to that." Robin said and pretended to cheers her wine and then took a hearty sip.
As the dinner went on, I noticed that Joe started clenching his jaw next to me, obviously agitated by something. I was initially worried that his hand was bothering him, but realized that for a lot of the dinner, Jamie has been constantly talking about Joe's injury. He wants to know more about it like where he's getting the surgery, if he knew he was done for the season when he felt it pop, how much it hurt, among other things. Also for a lot of the dinner, Joe's been trying to change the subject by giving short responses and then talking about something else, but it always came back to Jamie asking about the injury or football in general. "How is rehab going to work this time? You going to the same place in Cali like you did with your knee or staying here?" Jamie asked Joe. From the end of the table closest to me where Robin was, and the other end where Jimmy was, I could tell they knew Joe was agitated, but it seemed like Jamie couldn't tell.
The last thing I wanted was for Joe to blow up or say something that would make Jamie mad. Then that would lead to Jamie getting upset, and then the whole night would be either ruined or just awkward. "Yeah, I don't know. Still trying to figure that all out." Joe said, his voice sounding upset and annoyed. When Joe said this, he reached up and started rubbing the back of his neck, clenching and unclenching his jaw some more. Glancing down, I reached for his hand in his lap and then gave it a small squeeze when I got it in my hand. Joe glanced at me with a small and thankful smile before looking straight ahead so he could take another bite of his food. "Did you know right away how bad it was?" Jamie asked him from across the table. Instead of answering his question this time, Joe adverted his attention to his dad and asked him something that I couldn't quite make out.
Since Joe got away from the football talk, I turned my attention back over to Robin, Jenna, and Stella since we were all talking about the house. "Hey mommy?" Emily asked who was sitting next to Jenna. "Yes sweetheart?" She asked and tucked a piece of hair behind Emily's ear. "Can I have more stuffing?" She asked. "Of course you can." Jenna said and scooped some more stuffing on her plate. I smiled down at Emily who shoved a ton of stuffing into her mouth while looking at me. "How do you think the Bengals are going to do without you?" Jamie asked. Whipping my head over towards Jamie, I was about to say something but Joe smashed his left hand on the table, making everyone jump a little bit, shocked at his reaction. From the hard contact, all of the glasses on the table shook like crazy; I even grabbed onto mine just incase it decided to tip over.
"Can we talk about something other than football for one god damn second?" Joe raised his voice. We all looked at Joe as he stood up from the table abruptly and then stormed out of the dining room and towards the living room. I watched Joe walk away before he left my sight. The only thing I heard other than our forks dropping on our plates was the sliding back door open and then close with a lot of force. With a little sigh, I turned my attention back towards the table where everyone was trying to act like nothing happened and continue thanksgiving dinner. From everything that was going on, I felt tears prick my eyes. Trying to keep myself from crying, I lifted my hand up and put it under my nose, trying anything to calm myself down. Robin, seeing that I was a little emotional, reached over and grabbed my hand, giving it a little squeeze. Looking over at her, she gave me a reassuring smile.
"Geez, what did I do? I didn't think I said anything bad." Jamie said while he wiped his mouth off. From across from him, his grandparents and wife were about to say something to Jamie, obviously angry with him, but I intervened. "This is his second season ending injury in 4 years, he is frustrated right now, and talking about football doesn't help. The only reason he told me that he still wanted to have this dinner was because he thought it would be a good way to forget about his injury, but instead, that's all you're talking about. Put yourself in his shoes and cut him some fucking slack, Jamie." I said. I dropped Robins hand that was holding mine and left the table, storming off just like Joe did. "What the hell are you thinking, Jamie?" I heard Jimmy ask Jamie. "Please wait." Robin called after me as I walked out of the dining room.
After I walked out of the dining room, I headed towards the back door so I could go to Joe and see if he was okay. As soon as I looked outside, I saw Joe sitting down on the couch which was surrounded by the other patio furniture we needed to prepare for winter. Joe was staring straight ahead. Looking at his expression, I could tell he was upset but trying to hide it. Ever since his injury, he’s been closed off, which is typical for him during an injury. We haven’t even really talked about it yet because I always let him come to me instead of me pushing him to talk to me about it. As soon as I slid the door open a little bit, Joe immediately looked up to see who was walking outside. When he saw that it was me, he gave me a small smile and scooted over so he was on one side of the couch and then patted the side next to him, wanting me to sit next to him. "Why didn't you stay and eat? You didn't have to come out here." Joe said.
I walked over to him and then sat down right next to him. Once I did, Joe put his arm around me and pulled me closer to him. "Yes I did, plus, I kind of went off on your brother, so it would've been awkward if I stayed." We both laughed for a few seconds before I rested my head on Joes shoulder. There was a moment of silence before I spoke up, "are you okay?" I asked Joe. There was a definite sigh from above me as I pulled away slightly to look into his eyes, but we both kept our arms around one another. I could tell that he was carrying a lot of stress and anxiety. He was tensed up and doing his best to hold back, but I knew if I put a little bit of pressure, the flood gates would open up, and that’s what he needed right now. He needed to talk about it.
"Are you okay?" I repeated as a tear escaped my eye and rolled down my cheek only to get caught by my hand that quickly wiped it away. As I looked into Joes eyes, I noticed that he was trying his best not to cry, but I knew he wanted to. I knew he wanted to open up and talk about his pent up emotions but was struggling to. "I'll be fine. After my surgery I'll get back at it, just like with my knee." Joe said, but his bottom lip started to quiver slightly. His voice was shaky, his eyes were glistening with tears, and his breathing was heavy and uneven. He was trying so hard to hold back. "Joey, tell me how you really feel, it's okay." I said and ran my fingers through his hair slightly.
With a gentle shake of his head, Joe bit his bottom lip to hide the small quiver and said, "I can't feel sorry for myself, and I don't want you to feel sorry for me either." I brought my hands up and cupped the sides of his cheeks, making him look over at me. “Opening up and showing a little bit of emotion doesn’t mean you have to feel sorry for yourself. This is a big deal, Joe, and holding back your emotions is only going to make it worse. You have to let it out before you can move on." I said. Joe took a deep breath and sealed his eyes shut. His shoulders dropped low and he eventually let a few tears slip from his eyes which rolled down his rosy cheeks. Joe let out a shaky breath and bit the inside of his cheek. “I just came back from an injury...I just started to feel 100% again and was ready to prove that to everyone," Joe started to say, "Now I'm out for the season, and it feels terrible. I feel like I was just down on the field after fucking up my knee and missing the rest of the season, now I have to miss the rest of this season." Joe said.
"I get it, Joey." I said, encouraging him to keep going. "This past offseason and training camp I was supposed to be healthy, but I hurt my calf. So, I hoped that this next offseason and training camp I would be 100% healthy, but once again, I won't be. I will have to go back to rehab for yet again another injury...but this time I don't even know if I'll get 100% of my strength and grip back." Joe said, more tears escaping his eyes as he poured out all of his emotion that he had, until there was nothing left. Joe said everything that he was keeping bottled up inside of him. After staring at the ground for a few seconds, he finally looked up and into my eyes. We held eye contact for a few seconds. We both didn't move, we just looked at each other while we both cried and took deep breaths. "It's going to be okay." I said.
"How do you know?" Joe asked me. With a deep breath, I said what I truly felt. I let my heart instead of my head do the talking. "You are Joseph Lee Burrow. You came back from your hand surgery and being the backup to the backup. You came came back from your sprained knee. You came back for the first game of the season after appendix surgery just a few months prior and made it to the AFC championship. You played with a messed up calf and still managed to pull out some wins. You tore your ACL, MCL, and PCL your first ever year in the NFL, worked your ass off every single day to get better and made it to the Super Bowl. The fucking Super Bowl, Joe. You are incredible and there is nothing you can't do, I believe that and everyone else does too. You should to. No one is expecting you to be 100% right now, so you can sulk for a little bit, because this sucks. I know it does. I know how hard it is to be in this spot again after everything you've conquered. I also know that when you're done sulking, you're going to grind and work hard every single day until this is a thing of the past." I told him.
"You are so strong Joseph Lee Burrow, physically and mentally. I know you will work hard and never give up on rehab, no matter how hard it is for you. It's hard? Suck it up. You’re strong enough to do this. And I'll be here every step of the way just like always. All you have to do is believe in yourself." I said. "I just keep worrying and thinking that-" Joe started to say but I cut him off. I placed my forehead on his and said, "Just Stop thinking, Joe. Don't think, Just Do.” I started to stroke Joes cheek as he processed everything I said, and then he said, "You said that to me about colleges on our first date and when I was on the fence about LSU and when I hurt my knee and then after the Super Bowl." Joe smiled slightly. "Exactly, now look where you are. What's another setback?" I asked him. Joe took a deep breath and nodded a little bit while maintaining eye contact with me. "Alright." Joe said.

the milestones menu: nonna berzatto's homemade pasta
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
prompt: yours and carmen's first "i love you".
contains: fluff, general fluff. some mentions to dead relatives, carmen's self doubt, but very minimal bc it's very fluffy :)
2 cups of flour- Semolina.
4 Large Eggs
Pinch of Salt
Put flour into a mound. Make a center, and add the eggs to the middle. Whisk slowly with a fork, gradually working it in little at a time until nice and thick. Knead the mixture for about ten minutes. Let it rest in the fridge for thirty minutes. Put it in a ball, and roll it out very thin.
“Can’t believe you never had homemade pasta.” Carmen shook his head, blue eyes peeking out from under the mess of curls.
“Nope.” You shook your head, grinning over the crystal wine glass, sipping your riesling slowly. “Strictly a boxed pasta girl.”
“Fuckin’ criminal.” Carmen grinned, a playful, lopsided smirk that had you blushing.
The counter was covered in flour, stopping just where you rested, propped up on the granite while Carmen worked. Your eyes trained on his hands, hands that stirred the eggs into the flour, kneaded the dough until your thighs were clenching.
“My Nonna is rollin’ in her grave right now, you know that?” Carmen pulled you from your gaze, rolling out the dough.
“Noooo, don't say that.” You laughed, shaking your head. “You’re making me feel bad, Carmen. I swear I thought Olive Garden made fresh pasta.”
Carmen laughed, a little shy but louder now- more himself. He’d blossomed with you lately, unveiling new parts of himself every single day. “‘M just kiddin’, baby.” Carmen hummed, eyes cutting to you a little skeptical. “Sorry, I-I didn’t mean to sound like an asshole. That sounded douchey, right?”
You smiled, setting your glass behind you. “No, I was just messin’ with you, bear.” The nickname- his nickname. Hearing it more and more roll from your tongue, each time his heart skipped harder than the last.
“Is this her recipe?” You asked, picking up the faded recipe card, looped cursive on the aged paper. “Your Nonna’s?”
“Yeah,” Carmen nodded. “I, uh, so when I left to go to culinary school, right? She was sick, and… and I think she, like, knew that when I went to New York that would be the last time she saw me.” Carmen’s face dropped, slow and sad, it made your own heart sink.
“So she-she gave me all these recipe books and-and cards that were hers. We used to cook together a lot. She taught me how to cook, y’know? My mom and dad were always at the restaurant and didn’t want to cook when they got home. They didn’t want me in the restaurant either so I spent a lot of time with her.” Carmen muttered. You could see the memories playing behind his eyes.
You liked to picture that version of Carmen, a little boy with wild curls, helping his Nonna cook. Happy memories.
“That’s sweet.” You smiled, leaning against the cabinets. “She did a really good job. You know she’s so insanely proud of you.”
Carmen snorted, shaking his head lightly. “Yes, she is. Everyone’s proud of you, Carmen… I’m proud of you.” You hesitate, eyes scanning his features. It was true, of course, but handling Carmen sometimes was like handling a frightened animal. You were never sure what would make him scatter away in fear.
Carmen swallowed thickly, cheeks flushed red, lips in a tight line. “T-Thanks.” Carmen muttered, wiping his hands on his apron, tossing the flour back into his clammy hands.
“She, uh, she woulda loved you, y’know.” Carmen’s eyes met yours, intense and piercing. “I wish you coulda met her.”
“Yeah, me too.” You nod. “I would’ve loved to hear all the baby Carmen cooking stories. I bet she had some good ones.” You smiled, bright and wide- perfect. It made Carmen’s brain numb.
“Yeah, she would.” Carmen nodded, hands stilling, still buried in the dough.
He felt it in his bones, his heart, consuming his thoughts. The overwhelming need he’d felt for weeks, since the first time you kissed him really, that he’d been fighting- too scared to say. What he felt every time he looked at you, when he thought about you.
“Um, I-I wanna say something, and-and I don’t know if I should even fuckin’ say this or-or if it’s… fuck, if you-you feel the same or I just, I don’t wanna fuck this up because this is like the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and-and I’m workin’ on not ruinin’ good shit in my life and bein’ ok with it like-like my therapist says ya know, but-” Carmen rambled, words spilling out in fast, overwhelming bouts that took you by surprise.
Carmen flustered, reaching a dough covered hand to his face, the sticky batter catching on his brows and hair. He flushed deeply, hands shaking in embarrassment, cursing under his breath. “F-Fuck, I-I’m sorry. I-I, nevermind, it’s not… I don’t know why-why I would-” His hands trembled, body shaking with anger and embarrassment. Way to fuckin’ go, Berzatto, you fuckin’ ruin it. That’s all you ever do, Carmen thought bitterly, wiping his hands off on the cloth.
“Carm,” You said softly, your voice a beacon in the raging sea of his mind, pulling him out of his own harsh thoughts.
Carmen turned, a fury flush of pure embarrassment that burnt all down his cheeks to his chest. Eyes soft and wary, hesitant like he was doomed, destined for the worse.
You slide off the counter easily, grabbing the spare towel, bringing it to his eyebrows, wiping the dough off gently. The softness of your touch soothed Carmen, lulling his hammering heart- he didn’t see your own shaking hands, filled with your own adrenaline nerves.
You stood in front of him, eyes on the other, careful and watching- unsure. “I-I love you, too.” Your breath hitched, squeezing the words out in a nervous tumble. Carmen didn’t move, body going rigid, heart stopping entirely. The ringing was back in his ears, clouding his brain so loudly he was sure he heard you wrong.
“I’ve wanted to say it for a while, too, but didn’t…” You shook your head, heat in your own cheeks, eyes casting down to his dough covered hand. “I didn’t know if-if you felt that or if- I don’t know, I didn’t want to seem crazy or obsessive if it was too soon, and-and scare you.”
“No,” Carmen croaked, tongue thick in his own mouth. “No, I-I mean- fuck,” Carmen shook his head, looking to the wall. He needed a second, words jumbled in his mouth, heart racing, so high off the adrenaline he felt like he could combust at any moment.
“I-I was gonna say that too.” Carmen nodded, the quirk in your lips making his heart lurch. “That I love you. I was- yeah, I love you. I-I have for a while.”
“Really?” You whispered, voice tiny and excited, like it was a secret just for the two of you. Maybe it was.
“Yeah, fuck yeah.” Carmen let out a breathy, shaky laugh. “I love you, and-and I just love you so much it makes my brain hurt sometimes.”
“Me too.” You grin, a hand pressing to his cheek. “I love you.” The phrase you’d repressed for so long, deprived yourself of saying now spilled out of you like a mantra- like that was all you could say now.
Carmen grinned, brain bubbly and light. He let you pull him into a kiss, head tilting down, lips molding over yours so they fit perfectly.
Later over plates of Bologonese, you grinned across the table from Carmen. “If I didn’t tell you I loved you before, I definitely would now.” You moaned, pointing at the plate. “I really was missing out.”
Carmen beamed under your praise, gooey and love drunk off your words- off you. He knew Viola Berzatto, wherever she was, was boasting with pride.
And he knew his Nonna would have loved you too.

WAITING FOR HIM---- N.HISCHIER
Tumblr media
paring: nico hischier x fem! reader
word count: 1k
requested? yes - maybe he comes back to your apartment after a loss and you’re asleep and you hear him come in and you wake up and it’s just super fluffy
warnings: use of y/n.
The living room is dimly lit, the soft glow from a table lamp casting a warm light on the couch where Y/N sits. The clock on the wall ticks away, its hands inching closer to midnight. A hockey game blares from the TV, the commentator's voice echoing in the otherwise quiet room.
Y/N shifts on the couch, her eyes flicking to the clock again. She checks her phone, no new messages. Sighing softly, she wraps herself tighter in the blanket draped over her legs.
"He should be home by now." y/n thought to herself. She rests her head against the back of the couch, her eyes heavy from the long day. She fights to keep them open, wanting to greet Nico when he walks through the door.
The TV's noise becomes a distant hum as Y/N's eyelids grow heavier. Slowly, her breathing deepens, and the rhythmic sound of her soft snores fills the room.
The room is still dimly lit, the TV now showing the end credits of the hockey game. The front door clicks softly as it opens, revealing Nico, carrying his hockey gear and looking disappointed. He enters cautiously, trying not to disturb the peaceful sleep of Y/N on the couch.Nico tiptoes around the living room, his movements slow and deliberate. He sets his hockey gear down gently near the door and takes a moment to watch Y/N sleep. Her face is relaxed, a soft smile playing on her lips even in her dreams.
Y/N stirs, her eyelids fluttering open slowly. She looks up to see Nico standing over her, his expression a mix of exhaustion and disappointment.
"Hi Nico, how was the game?"
"Hey, it was... tough. We lost."
Y/n sat up rubbing her eyes “"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."
nico takes a seat next to her ‘’Yeah, it was a rough one. But seeing you here when I got home makes it a little better."
Y/N gives Nico a soft smile, touched by his words. "I'm always here for you, win or lose. Do you want to talk about the game?"
Nico sighs, running a hand through his hair. "Honestly, not really. It's frustrating, you know? We practiced so hard, but things just didn't click today."
She reaches out to place a comforting hand on his arm. "I understand. Sometimes things just don't go the way we want them to. But you gave it your best, and that's what matters."
He looks at her, his eyes searching hers.‘Thank you, Schatzi, Your support means everything to me." She leans in, pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek. "I'll always be your biggest fan, Nico." He smiles, the weight on his shoulders seeming to lighten a bit. "I know, and I'm grateful for that."
"Do you want me to cook you dinner?" y/n asked. Nico's eyes light up at the offer, appreciating the gesture of care and comfort from Y/N. "That sounds wonderful, Y/N. Thank you." "i can help if you want." nico exclaimed. Y/N smiles warmly at Nico's offer, touched by his willingness to help. "That would be great, Nico. Cooking together could be fun."
Nico nods, eager to contribute and spend time with Y/N. "Alright, what are we making?"
Y/N thinks for a moment, then suggests, "How about we make some homemade pasta? It's comforting and I know you love it."
Nico grins, "Sounds perfect. Let's do it."
They head into the kitchen together, Y/N taking the lead with the pasta dough while Nico offers to prepare a simple tomato sauce. Working side by side, they quickly fall into a rhythm, laughing and chatting as they cook.
As they finish preparing the meal, Nico looks over at Y/N with a smile. "Thanks for letting me help, Y/N. It was actually really fun."
Y/N smiles back, wiping her hands on a towel. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. Cooking together was a nice way to unwind and spend time together."
They plate up the pasta and sauce, sitting down at the dining table to enjoy the meal they've made together. The atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful, the earlier disappointment of the game now a distant memory as they focus on their shared meal and the joy of each other's company.
After enjoying their meal and cleaning up the kitchen together, Nico and Y/N decide it's time to head to bed. The earlier fatigue from the long day still lingers, and they both look forward to a good night's sleep.
As they enter the bedroom, Y/N begins to change into her pajamas, while Nico takes care of his nightly routine. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, a stark contrast to the tension of the hockey game earlier.
Once they're both ready for bed, Y/N climbs into bed, pulling the covers up to her chin. Nico joins her, wrapping his arms around her as they settle into a comfortable position.
"Tonight was really special, Nico," Y/N whispers, her eyes meeting his in the dim light of the bedroom.
Nico smiles, brushing a strand of hair behind Y/N's ear. "It was. Cooking together and spending this quiet time with you was exactly what I needed after today."
Y/N snuggles closer to Nico, feeling the warmth and comfort of his embrace. "I'm glad we could make the best of a tough day. I love you, Nico."
Nico tightens his hold around Y/N, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead. "I love you too, Schatzi. Thank you for always being my rock."
In the stillness of the night, with Y/N in his arms, Nico feels a sense of peace and contentment wash over him. The disappointments of the day fade away as they focus on their shared love and the comfort of each other's presence.

Girl Put Your Records On (Tell Me Your Favourite Song) | Sydney Lohmann
Tumblr media
warnings: syd’s injury 😔
word count: 2077
summary: requested, domestic fluff with sydney
a/n: syd’s back! syd’s back! syd’s back!
Tumblr media
It’s no secret that Sydney loves cooking. She has even said that if she wasn’t playing football professionally, she would be a chef.
And maybe you’re a little biased as her girlfriend and frequent beneficiary of her cooking but you are sure that she would have made an amazing one.
The German woman cooks a large variety of things and she is always down to experiment but her favourite is pasta.
Sydney’s homemade pasta is one of your favourite things to eat and you would even go so far as to call it your comfort food.
Your girlfriend makes the entire dish from scratch and you swear you can feel the love and care she puts into it.
The extent of your fondness for it and for any of Syd’s cooking really, is well known. There has been more than one occasion where your fellow Bayern teammates have teased you that you’re only with Sydney for her skills in the kitchen.
That couldn’t be further from the truth though.
You love everything about your girlfriend, from her every perfection down to her littlest flaw.
If it were up to you, you would say that a certain Sydney Matilda Lohmann is complete perfection.
There is so much you adore about her and that includes each moment that you spend with her.
Making pasta together with your girl is one of your favourite moments.
You and your girlfriend frequently have teammates over for meals. Sydney’s cooking tends to have that effect on people and while making pasta with friends is nice, you love making pasta with Syd much more.
When it is just you and her, the Bayern Munich midfielder putting her vintage record player on to as she put it, set the vibe.
Your girlfriend spins you around the kitchen when any of her favourite records come on and you’d ask her, her favourite song in between fits of laughter.
Sydney’s favourite song changes all the time based on how she’s been feeling so you like to ask her what it is. It gives you an idea of her current mood and state of mind.
Her hazel eyes are always bright when she answers you and you cherish all of her answers and the way she looks as she gives them.
More often than not, she has flour on her clothes and hair. She leaves streaks of it behind on you, a visible reminder of her hands on your body.
You love these smudges of white, left on your hips, shoulders and stomach, sometimes on your cheek if Sydney’s feeling mischievous enough to swipe her flour covered finger across your cheek.
It’s especially heartwarming after tough games and it goes like this.
Sydney makes her pasta dough and you hand her the ingredients in the right order, reading out the recipe from one of her cookbooks. Her scribbled handwriting in the margins of said cookbooks mark them as hers.
You continue leafing through the recipes, giggling at some of the notes and comments she has left while your girlfriend wraps the dough up before putting it to chill in the fridge.
The German woman then proceeds to make the sauce, tomato or cream based, depending on her mood.
She lets it simmer over the stove and it always smells so damn good. Syd stirs it and lets you taste test it as she cooks. The Bayern player feeds you those spoonfuls of little tastes with anxious smiles and hopeful looks, always waiting for your feedback.
You don’t know what she’s worried about because her pasta sauce is constantly amazing.
It gives you great joy to watch her face light up whenever you tell her so.
Sitting on the kitchen counter, most of the time in Syd’s clothes as you swing your legs back and forth, you fall even more head over heels in love with her.
You love watching her hum along to the song playing as she does little dance moves whenever inspiration strikes her.
Every now and then, she turns around to check on you and you have no shame in showing her just how captivated you are.
You’re starstruck because of her.
The way you look at her makes her blush and your girlfriend often ducks her head, looking back down at her pot of sauce to hide it. It really is cute of her.
When the sauce is done, Sydney washes her hands before pulling you off the kitchen counter. The German woman always takes the opportunity to kindly suggest that she can help pass the remaining time more quickly.
And you always take her up on it because who would say no to what she has in mind?
Making out with your girlfriend is like something out of a dream. With her lips on yours and whispered sighs, her hands skimming your bare skin, well you’re in love with the feeling and her.
The last minutes of chilling time for the pasta dough go by fast and then Sydney is waltzing you back into the kitchen.
You stand beside her, the only place you ever want to be, even if you are given the whole world to choose from and roll out the pasta dough with her.
The both of you take turns to run the pasta wheel over the rolled sheets and Syd never fails to make fun of you for how much neater hers turns out.
It is quick work after that, for the meal to be ready.
You set the plates out and your girlfriend finishes off her dish.
It is almost sacred to be able to curl up with the hazel eyed woman, with whatever show the two of you are binge watching playing on the television while you eat together.
Moments like that give you the much needed break from football. It’s lovely to be able to chase a dream you’ve had since you were a little girl but it’s also lovely for you to be able to spend time with your girlfriend.
Since Syd cooked, you pick up the plates and take them to the kitchen to wash.
It is everything to you, to be able to share this domestic bliss with Sydney.
******
Now that she is injured, things have to change.
Not by much but rather, a simple reversal of roles.
You make the pasta and let your girlfriend taste the sauce. The German player directs you from your usual perch atop the kitchen counter.
As much as she insists that she wants to help, you simply shake your head, giving her a firm no.
You just want her to rest her ankle.
The injury had been a devastating blow to your girl who had been so excited to start the season. Prior to the injury, her form had been brilliant and she’d just come off a solid win against Iceland.
Your girlfriend was just getting back the sparkle in her eyes every time she steps onto the pitch. It had been missing since Germany’s exit from the World Cup and now you feared it would be a while more before you saw it in its full beauty.
You hate how injury prone Sydney is, hate the way the world is so unkind to her. Her bad luck has it that she is always getting into a really good flow right before it is cut short. Fate is cruel sometimes.
There’s nothing you can do about that but you can make her dinner. It is the least you can do for the hazel eyed woman you are so in love with.
You’ve only finished simmering the pasta sauce and turned off the stove for a moment before Sydney is making grabby hands at you.
It’s tomato tonight because that is what the midfielder had been wanting.
You laugh at her gestures and scoop out a spoonful of sauce as she’d asked.
Carefully, you feed it to her but not before you make a show of blowing on it, to cool it down.
‘Good?’ You ask, taking a step back expectantly.
‘It’s really good.’ Your girl replies.
‘Yeah? Why do you sound so surprised?’ You tease.
‘I’m not! I-’ Sydney backtracks defensively, her eyes widening rapidly.
It’s adorable how easy it is to fluster her.
‘I’m just kidding sonnenschein.’ You admit and she scowls, crossing her arms and huffing, ‘I knew that.’
‘You sure?’ You mock and the taller woman deigns to reply you by dramatically rolling her eyes.
‘I’m sure. I am also sure that your tomato sauce isn’t as good as mine though.’
‘I know. Yours will always be better.’ You shrug easily, stepping back in between Syd’s legs and planting a gentle kiss onto her lips.
Your girlfriend chuckles and your heart lightens.
******
Eating dinner with the German player sitting next to you has your heart fluttering in all kinds of good ways.
You are never going to stop cherishing these moments with her.
Syd notices you staring at her and she blushes, mumbling, ‘Why are you looking at me like that?’
‘Because you are so incredibly beautiful and I love you.’
It is a simple, effortless confession but your girlfriend’s face lights up.
‘I love you too.’
She sets her plate down on the coffee table and smiles, ‘I fall more and more in love with you with each and every day that I spend with you.’
Sydney’s words give you the warmest of feelings inside and when she smoothly straddles you, despite the walking boot she has on, you know the feeling is mutual.
‘Syd…’ You groan, torn between wanting to make sure she is being cautious about her injury and wanting her to kiss you.
‘I’m being careful.’ She insists before leaning down to connect her lips to yours.
She tastes like tomato sauce and cheese but you don’t care because it’s Sydney.
Sydney who is the living definition of sunshine. Sydney who for reasons you can’t fathom is as in love with you as you are with her.
You have a lot of reasons to be thankful but your girlfriend is the biggest one.
******
It’s with kiss swollen lips and messy hair that you take yours and Syd’s dinner plates into the kitchen.
Your girlfriend trails behind you with her crutches, her lips and hair in a similar state.
There is no mistaking the satisfied smirk on her face though.
‘Here.’ You breathe, lifting her up onto the kitchen counter after depositing both your plates into the sink. Her crutches are propped next to her.
Sydney wiggles comically as she gets comfortable and you giggle.
You put her record player on and start on the dirty dishes.
‘Let me help please?’ The hazel eyed woman implores.
You’re going to refuse and assure her that you manage but remember how helpless the rehab has been making her feel despite her best attempts to hide it.
Ever selfless, you know that Syd would never do anything she deems might harm the team dynamic, even if it really wouldn’t.
You want to spoil her but know that that is not what she needs right now.
So as a compromise, you offer her a dish towel and ask, ‘You can dry if you like?’
The Bayern midfielder gratefully takes the towel from you. She knows you know and the soft look of adoration in her gorgeous hazel eyes makes you melt.
It’s quick work, made enjoyable by the music playing and Syd’s humming along.
******
Normally you brush your teeth together and your girl links her little finger with yours but now you support her with an arm gently wrapped around her waist.
Syd has taken her walking boot off for the night so she needs to be careful not to put any sort of weight on her injured ankle.
Before she’d taken it off though, she had affectionately touched the yellow smiley face sticker you had put on it.
She hopes you know how much you and all your little gestures mean to her.
Her injury is hurting her but you make it all bearable.
So she leans into you and soaks in your touch, giggling through the toothpaste foam in her mouth.
Your gaze meets hers and you know that you want this to last the rest of your life.
With the way Syd whispers about how much she loves you as she settles down to sleep with her head on your chest, you know in your heart that she wants the same.

Adopt a Jock Part Four  / Part Five P 1 YOU ARE HERE / Part Five P 2
As always I own my soul to @chalkysgarbagefire and Hayley for helpin out with this one!
The problem with D&D games was that the drama room was only available on specific days.
As in, the days Hellfire was scheduled as a club for, much to said club’s distress.
This led directly into the second issue Hellfire faced--finding a place to host them all when they wanted to do something as a group outside of the main campaign they played.
(At least anything D&D related, with all of the screaming, ranting, and frantic dice rolling that came with it.)
Gareth knew Eddie had been lying through his teeth when he'd try to pitch Steve's house as a Hellfire hangout. Accepted that they’d never get to use all the sweet, sweet space Steve was known to have as much as he’d accepted Steve himself.
It was a lot, after all. Particularly when Eddie’s one-shots were known to last a good chunk of the day.
Once again, Steve had proved them all wrong.
(“We can use my house.” were five words not a single person at the table had ever expected to hear out of Harrington’s mouth, and it showed in the shocked silence that followed when he actually spoke them.
“What?” Steve asked, as six pairs of eyes stared at him. “Space is the problem right? So my house is the perfect solution.”
“Are you sure dude?” Grant asked hesitantly. “You know this one-shot isn’t gonna be a like, two hour thing, right?”
To their surprise Steve just gave him a flat, almost dead-eyed stare in return. “I’ve hosted the kids at my place before. Believe me, I am well aware.”
“As long as you’re absolutely sure…” Jeff had added, and could only roll his eyes when he got a sassy response from Steve.
Gareth of course, caught the way Steve kept seeking out Eddie’s eyes, as if hoping to make their oldest friend smile simply by offering up his house.
He didn’t even need to look to know it was working.)
It had taken some creative thinking (and a few wild excuses) to finangle things so that he could show up to Steve's literal castle of a home before anyone else without alerting Eddie but he'd managed it.
It was in fact, looking to be the highlight of Gareth's month.
Possibly the year, if they managed to pull off the little plot he had cooked up.
“I still don’t get how this is a prank.” Steve said, as Gareth prepped him before the others arrived.
"Trust me. If Eddie is anything, it's a jealous bitch." Gareth replied, seated on one of the countertops. "We dethrone him and he's gonna make an ass of himself for the next week. It'll be hilarious."
"I fail to see how that's different than usual." Steve grumbled as he bustled about.
Upon arrival Gareth had found him elbow deep into making cookies and what appeared to be  themed cocktails, among several other bowls full of snacks of all kinds.
There was even little finger sandwiches, the kind that absolutely looked homemade, and Gareth would have teased him about that except he’d instantly stuffed two in his mouth.
("I won't be able to host since I'm playing, so I just want everything done before anyone comes over." Was Steve's explanation, when Gareth did manage to get out a few teasing quips.
With the proud lack of manners so many teenage boys possessed, Gareth talked right through his mouth of food. "God you’re a dork. How the hell did you get popular?"
"Shut up Emerson, you're wearing two jackets." Steve snipped in response, as if he didn’t look like the poster boy for Nordstrom.)
"Don't bring logic into this." Gareth continued, as he tried to snag some cookie dough.
Steve smacked the back of his hand with a spoon.
"Get a bowl and a spoon if you're going to eat the dough!" Steve grumbled at him, already bustling to get said bowl and spoon himself. “God you’re worse than Eddie. And the kids!”
Gareth waited until Steve turned before he stuck his tongue out at him. "Whatever you say, mom."
He got an over exaggerated eye roll in response.
"Anyway, the point is you're gonna witness something we'll get to tease Eddie about for years." Gareth said, as he watched Steve dole out some dough.
"You get to watch the little hamster on the wheel that powers Eddie's brain lose its shit and cause him to do something really stupid.” He made grabby hands for the bowl and spoon, and tucking in delightfully the second Steve handed them over.
Steve himself treated the entire exchange like he was feeding a particularly vicious and wild animal, making a show of yanking his hands back like Gareth might just go for his fingers. "I just don't understand why the thing you wanna fight about is cuddling."
"Bragging rights. The jokes we can make. The fact that your thighs look like they were made out of clouds, take your pick man.” Gareth counted off, in-between bites of dough.
"Clouds?" Steve asked, tilting his head.
“Big muscley clouds, Harrington. Also Grant’s here.”
Steve blinked. “How do you-” He asked, right before the sound of a car with an engine far too loud pulled into his driveway.
“He drives an absolute piece of crap. You ride in that thing one time and you’ll be able to hear it coming for the rest of your life.” Gareth explained, as Steve peered out the kitchen and down to his front doors.
(Plural, because he had two.
Gareth had never felt more judged by slabs of wood in his life than he had when he’d walked through them.)
"Last chance to bail, Stevie.” Gareth teased. “I won't hold it against you if you call it off mid-show though."
Steve didn’t answer for a moment, too busy disrobing from his baking apron—a bright yellow and red garment that practically swallowed him whole, complete with an embroidered ‘Claudia Henderson’ over the right breast. The embroidery gave rise to a few questions but Gareth decided to save them for later.
"No, something this fucking weird has to have a story behind it and I want to witness the fallout.” Steve finally replied, before rushing out of the kitchen.
He ripped open his front door, right after a knock echoed loudly throughout the house.
“Shit! What the hell man, were you just waiting to do that!?” Stewart yelped, prompting Gareth to snicker quietly and Steve to apologize.
Like the wealthy housewife he’d been no doubt raised by, Steve went through a whole spiel as he ushered Stewart and Grant in, pointing out bathrooms, letting them know where the game was going to take place (the giant fuck off table that looked like it should be hosting some kind of high-stakes negotiation instead of a bunch of nerds) and where they could put their things (into a closet dedicated to just guests.)
The trio of Eddie, Tiffany and Jeff arrived next, the latter two having been roped into helping Eddie haul his “D&D To Go” bags around.
Steve started his little host speech over, much to Gareth’s amusement, fluttering about and entirely forgetting about his cookies until the oven dinged, causing him to swear and rush back into the kitchen.
“Dude, breathe.” Gareth told him, almost done with his bowl. “It’s a D&D game, you don’t gotta go full out for us.”
“I just want to make sure everyone has a good time.“ Steve said with a shrug. Like none of the effort he’d gone to, was a big deal.
“Careful Harrington, say stuff like that again and we’re going to start thinking you enjoy hosting us.”
“Shut up Gary.” Steve said, setting his cookies on a cooling rack. “And put that bowl in the sink!”
Gareth jumped off the counter, trying his best to remove the shit eating from his face.
He failed entirely.
xXx
As far as pranks went, this one required quite the set up.
They couldn’t do it in the beginning of the D&D game--too obvious, and too easy for Eddie to call bullshit.
Doing it at the end wouldn’t work either. Eddie would know they were trying to rile him up and would no doubt find a way to ruin it.
Years of being Munson’s best friend had afforded Gareth the knowledge that this was going to have to be split in two parts, and the first part, the setup, started now.
Slowly. Methodically.
In a way that wouldn't spook Steve, or trigger Eddie's sense for trouble.
Gareth began by selecting a seat as far away from Eddie as possible, knowing his lovestruck idiot friend would be pulling out all the stops tonight in order to impress Steve (and get him to keep playing, of course.)
Sure enough, as soon as Eddie was done setting up he crooked a finger in Steve's direction.
“Harrington you’re here, next to me.” Eddie flashed him his most award winning grin, the one that said he was up to trouble in that charming, ‘aren’t I just a charming ol’ rogue?” sort of way.
“I made you a human fighter, just to start you off." He continued, as Steve took the seat next to him. "You can always make your own character later if you don't like playing this class, but I made this set up as straightforward as possible.”
“Human fighter huh?” Steve said, glancing down the sheet. “Okay.”
“You have any questions, you just ask. I promise I won’t bite. Not for your first time anyway.” Eddie winked, dipping in and out of Steve's space as he did so.
“Dude, I am begging you to please stop saying shit like that.” Jeff said with a long suffering sigh.
“No.” Eddie replied promptly, sticking his tongue out.
Steve just ducked his head to hide his smile.
A harsh clap halted any further response, as Eddie settled back into his seat and dipped into his DM narrator voice.
"Alright my little adventurers! Are we ready to begin?"  He looked around as everyone looked towards him, the energy shifting instantly in the room.
Eddie grinned gleefully. "Perfect. You all wake up at an Inn, with no memory of how you got there…"
A story was quickly spun, one of mysterious memory loss and a sense that the group needed to stay together. Introductions were given once everyone came into the tavern of the inn, cut short when they were interrupted by a lone barkeep.
“Is the barkeep a human?” Steve cut in.
Eddie paused, temporarily thrown, but nodded encouragingly. “Yes, he is actually!”
Grant and Jeff both went to open their mouths, no doubt to tease, but Harrington beat them to it.
“Okay, I roll to fight him, or whatever.” Steve said.
“I--what?” Eddie asked.
“I roll to fight him.” Steve repeated. “Oh and my character screams “Death to humans!” before he attacks.”
He sat back with a smug little grin, and watched as Eddie froze in surprise, while Grant and Stewart's jaws promptly hit the floor.
“Harrington, you menace.” Tiff cackled, delighted.
Eddie just threw his head back and laughed.
It set the tone quite nicely for the rest of the one-shot.
xXx
“Grant, why are you looking at me through a fork?” Steve asked, about thirty minutes into the game.
“I’m pretending you’re in jail.”
Steve raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
Grant, whose character had to physically carry Steve's fighter out of two altercations he started,  just gave him a flat look.  “It’s spiritually healing.”
"Hey Jeff." Gareth asked quietly, as banter was traded. "I'm catching a hell of a draft over here."
Jeff raised an eyebrow at him. "And what do you want me to do about it?"
"Switch me seats?"
Jeff rolled his eyes, but gave in easily enough.
"Fine."  He said.
Gareth did his best to keep his grin off his face.
Step one, complete!
xxx
"You come upon a door." Eddie said, sitting deep in his seat while steepling his fingers. "It's a normal door, unremarkable in every way except for two things."
Groans filled the room, startling Steve.
"Oh god, not again." Stewart moaned, raking his hands through his hair. "I can't do this again!"
Eddie's grin merely grew. "The first odd thing you notice is that the door has been put into the wall at a tilt."
"I'm gonna kill him." Tiff snarled, writing something frantically in her notes. "Munson is a dead man walking."
"What is happening?" Steve asked, glancing around.
"The second thing is that you recognize this door." Eddie's grin was Cheshire cat-esque, smug in the chaos he was causing among his friends. "It's the same door you saw at the beginning of this adventure, leading into the room the Innkeeper asked you to stay away from."
"We're boned." Grant announced, throwing himself dramatically back against his chair.
Gareth made his own dramatic, frustrated noise, banging his fist on the table.
The full glass of soda next to him wobbled dangerously.
With a cough, he made another loud "ugh!"  smacking his fist down a second time, closer to the glass.
As intended, it spilled all over Tiffany.
"Dude!" She exclaimed, shoving her chair backwards and jumping up.
"Oh shit Tiff, I'm so sorry!" Gareth gasped.
It was hard to keep a straight (albeit very sorry, least Tiffany hit him with her papers) face, but he managed.
Barely.
"You got my shirt wet you dick!"
"Here, switch it with this."  Gareth stood, unwrapping the red and black checkered sweater from his waist. He offered it up with an apologetic face as Tiff snatched it out of his hands with a glare.
"I'll switch you seats too!" He called as she stormed off towards the bathroom.
Jeff and Grant both stared at him with raised eyebrows as Gareth quickly shuffled his and Tiff's stuff around, taking her now sticky chair.
"Maybe we should take a break?" He suggested, trying to act embarrassed when he was anything but. "This whole area needs to be wiped down."
"Five minutes." Eddie conceded. "I wanted one of Stevie's delicious cookies anyway." He stood, putting his arms up in a lazy stretch.
Steve stood with him, leaning over to examine the mess Gareth had made. “We can wipe this down but this wood’s kinda funny, it’s gonna be wet for a bit no matter how much we dry it.”
“Well shit.” Gareth said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m sorry about the table man.”
Steve waved him off. “Don’t worry about it, the kids spill on it constantly. You are probably going to need a different chair though unless you’re fine with your ass getting wet.”
“Do you have another chair somewhere, Stevie?” Eddie asked, making a show of looking around. “Cause I’m not seeing one. Not that I care if Gary-Berry sits on the floor.”
Steve had several extra chairs in fact, but he and Gareth had hidden them all away before anyone else had arrived.
“I used to, but Mike broke two.” Steve said, and Gareth found himself insanely impressed by the improv on display.
He hadn’t thought Harrington had that level of acting in him.
“If you’re okay with sharing though, the chair’s are big enough that we can kinda squish together.” Steve continued, completely ignoring the way Eddie’s eyes about bugged out of his head.
“Only if you’re sure, man. I don’t want to be more of a bother.” Gareth put on his saddest, ‘I dun fucked up’ face, and shuffled his feet a little, just for dramatic effect.
This was the performance of a lifetime and Gareth wanted his Grammy after it, because he and Steve had planned the entire thing right down to the shared chair bit.
“You’re not, Dustin does this constantly.” Steve replied easily.
“Or we could just put down a towel.” Jeff said, with a look on his face that said he thought everyone in the room was a fucking idiot.
Gareth could’ve strangled him.
“That’s probably a smarter idea.” Steve agreed, like the traitor he was. “I dunno if that’s gonna work for your papers and shit though, so you can just hedge into my space.”
Which wasn’t what Gareth wanted, but he had to give Steve props for the quick thinking.
At least it was just a minor setback.
“I’ll get a towel.” Jeff continued, and at least they all got to witness the look that graced Eddie’s face upon realizing that Jeff of all people, knew where Steve kept his towels.
xXx
"What the hell else can we do to try and open the door!?" Jeff snarled a while later, slamming his pencil down.
They'd tried multiple different approaches and so far nothing had worked to set off whatever trap Eddie had set up. Something that made their DM absolutely delighted, while frustrating everyone else.
"I still don't get why we can't just try to turn the knob." Steve complained, staring in confusion at the absolute riot Eddie's "completely normal" door had caused among the rest of his party.
"Do not touch that door Harrington!" Grant bellowed, pointing at him.
Steve raised his hands in the air placatingly. "Easy, easy, I was just making a suggestion."
Gareth, wedged as close into Steve's space as he could get, tapped his fingers on the table twice. It was the little code he’d come up with to alert Steve that he was about to do something to piss off Eddie related to the prank (mostly, so Steve had a heads up Gareth was about to touch him, not that Gareth had spun it that way when he’d explained it) before patting Steve’s shoulder, hooking his elbow on it and leaning over. “Not gonna lie man, it’s not a bad idea. We’ve tried right about everything else.”
He could feel Eddie's eyes burning a hole in his skull from here and he delighted in it.
“Do not encourage him.” Grant said through gritted teeth.
Gareth leaned his face on the arm perched on Harrington, his hair tickling Steve’s cheek as he tried to look as angelic as possible. “I couldn’t possibly know what you mean, Grantman.”
He was flipped off in response.
xXx
“Are you fucking kidding me!?” Stewart howled, and even Gareth’s jaw dropped when Steve finally gave in and tried to turn the knob--only to succeed and swing the door open.
“Well Munson? What happens to him?” Tiff said, having refused to call Eddie anything but his last name since the door had first appeared.
“Nothing.” Eddie practically purred. “I told you, it’s a totally normal door, and the only weird thing about it was that you recognized it and that it was put into the wall a little tilted.”
“Fuck you dude.” Stewart practically growled, balling up the piece of paper he’d been doodling on and flinging it towards their DM. “Fuck you, fuck you, fuck. You!”
“No thank you.” Eddie replied cheekily, twirling a finger in his hair.
“We spent almost an hour trying to figure out how to open a regular door.” Jeff said, clearly processing. “An hour.”
Eddie just shrugged, shit eating grin plastered across his face.
Gareth once again tapped his fingers twice against the table, waited a moment, before banging his head gently against Steve’s shoulder. “I hate him.” He groaned.
After a long moment, Steve gently, if not a little awkwardly, patted him on the head.
“There, there, Gary. We defeated the door in the end.” He said calmly.
Gareth laughed, absolutely delighted. His head jerked up and a grin crossed his face as he immediately looked to see what Eddie made of that.
Pure murder, going by the face Eddie poorly tried to cover.
Perfect.
xXx
“With his last few moves, Sir Carrington-”
"I refuse to let that be my character's name.” Steve interjected, as he had every time Eddie brought up the name they’d apparently argued over. “If I have to figure out how to change it legally in your dumb game I fucking will."
Eddie didn’t even look in his direction.
“--Sir Carrington leaps into the air, swinging the sword of truth. It cleaves right through the Innkeeper, revealing him to be the dastardly villain you’ve heard so much about, Tareth the Trait. He’s gained an unusual amount of power after stealing the Inn from the former Innkeeper--”
“Really bro?” Gareth said, sending Eddie a flat look. “Tareth the Trait?”
“--With this final blow, Tareth collapses to the ground, dead. The Inn returns to its prior form, a safe haven for adventurers, instead of a trap.”
“Shut up guys, we did it!” Stewart said, throwing his hands up in a victory pose.
“Not gonna Eddie, I liked the twist.” Tiff complimented, a rare thing from her.
“Thank you, thank you.” Eddie stood up, sweeping an arm across his chest as he bowed. “Give yourselves a round of applause as well, especially for our dear Steven, who just completed his first D&D game!”
A cheer went up, causing Steve to flush red.
Gareth pretending to drum, knocking his shoulder into Steve’s much the way he had seen Eddie do as Steve sent an embarrassed smile around the room.
“We should celebrate.” Jeff said, as the chaos finally died down.
“I conquer, Jeff the Chef!” Eddie hollered, putting his foot on Steve’s chair. “Stevie-boy, you gotta have some good stuff around here for those big basketball wins!”
“Get your foot off the chair, Eds.” Steve groaned, but stood up (forcing Gareth to get up as well considering how far he’d been leaning into Steve’s space.) “And yeah we can order like pizza.”
“Pizza and beer?” Grant suggested.
“Oh my friend. I can do better than that.” Steve replied, a flash of his old, charming self coming through. “Allow me to raid my father’s liquor cabinet.”
“Hell yes!” Grant yelled, pumping his fist.
Tiffany rolled her eyes but didn’t protest, and neither Gareth noted, did anyone else.
Which was exactly what he wanted, because he hadn’t managed to land the perfect ending he and Harrington had planned.
Gareth would make it into Steve’s lap tonight, even if it killed him.
(Or worse, even if Eddie got there first, a thing that may very well happen considering Eddie was clearly annoyed with how Gareth had been hogging Steve.
Just as intended.)
SOME NOTES: I don't play d&d so writing it always requires a lot of research. Several pieces here (like the human fighter bit) are based off of/stolen from memes, videos or stories I read. If I fucked it up thaaaan idk squint and pretend its right LOL.
This one doesn’t have a bonus because I had to split Chapter Five into two parts. This is Part One, it’ll be one chapter on A03.  It just kept going.
Also Adopt a Jock is officially going up ON A03 so I will no longer be accepting tags ( Ch. One is already uploaded I’m just struggling with the summary lol. I will make a post and link it to my pinned post when it’s up.) I will still be updating here since I am only updating chapters on A03 as fast as I can edit them, which is not fast at all, so I imagine the next few chaps will be here before there but eventually shits gonna even out, so those who did not get onto the tag list can subscribe to the A03!
Finally, Sorry this took so long, I have a prior ongoing medical issue and getting laid off fucked up my insurance. Had to cram in some procedures before it ran out. Long story short all I've done is sleep, go to a doctor or rant about one of the two lmao. Legit slept 18 hours yesterday ahaha k i l l m e

Strawberry Wine ~ 𖤓
“ safe & sound “
Tumblr media
{{ Peeta Mellark Headcanons }}
Tumblr media
warnings: mentions of alcohol, canon Hunger Games violence/trauma, wholesome fluff, etc.
{{ word count }} 487
{{ prompt }} fluffy headcanons for our beloved bread boy !!
{{ a/n }} this is short & sweet while i test out Peeta’s character! I’m not sure what i exactly want to write with him since i’ve adored everlark for forever but for now please enjoy my silly happy thoughts! Some of these i’ve heard around the internet i think but i can’t remember where :[
Tumblr media
Peeta Mellark, the ashy blonde from District 12 who stole the hearts of the Capital with his charms and sweet, boyish nature while also managing to tame a stubborn Mockingjay - Katniss Everdeen, and poured out his heart and soul to get back to her any way he could.
Tumblr media
- Peeta is a morning person. He'll get up early and have breakfast ready by the time Katniss pulls out of bed (she learns to sleep in post-rebellion).
- His favorite type of bread/pastry is croissants. The tedious labor of laminating the cold butter block into the fluffy dough is cathartic in a way.
- Once, he tried to teach Katniss to paint. Once. Her attempt at trees looked more like crazy brown and green spiders but he still kissed her temple and had the painting framed, much to the girl on fire's dismay.
- Peeta doesn't like hard liquor - he never did. Effie hooks him on a strawberry wine made special in what used to be District 11, he's gifted at least one bottle every birthday or holiday.
- He's such a housewife no questions asked, hands down. Hungry? He'll cook. Thirsty? Anything you want. This man has to be physically removed from the kitchen during friendly gatherings so he can actually relax and enjoy the company.
- Also, his Dad lore is insane.
(speaking to his kids when they're older) "Oh yeah, your Mom tried to kill me once. but it's okay I made it even the next year so we're good now."
"One time I almost got eaten by a monkey in a fight to the death."
"Another time I took a spontaneous road trip, got held hostage, and then led a rebellion to victory alongside your Mom."
- Peeta teaches himself guitar so he can play along while Katniss sings. His chords are wildly out of tune at first, but he gets it eventually.
- Peeta doesn't like store-bought bread, saying his homemade loaves taste better (they do).
- He's a hugger, every hello and goodbye is met by a bear hug. His hugs are amazing as well, nice and tight but also comforting and warm.
- For a while after the war Peeta kept a journal on his nightstand to record his dreams/nightmares. Even if the text turns out to be chicken scratch in the morning Katniss still helps him decipher and work through it to solidify reality.
“What does that say ?”
“Uh… I think… no - wait, I have no idea,”
- Effie and Peeta definitely have wine nights to talk about their scary guard dog partners and how much they love them.
- Speaking of paint - it’s everywhere, all the time, mainly his hands. Oil paint is next to impossible to clean so almost all of Peeta’s shirts have some amount of color speckled on the sleeves or the thighs of his pants.
- Peeta also keeps a cookie jar of homemade cookies in the kitchen, they’re replenished every week with regular flavor swaps.

Advent Calendar Door One: ‘Mrs Claus’s Cookies’ - Bakugou x Reader
TW: Light Role-play (One Mention), Light Bondage, Jealousy, Fingering, Pet Names, Praise, Name Calling, Fluffy Smut.
Bakugou gets jealous when his friends ogle his girlfriend, and obsess over her baking.
Tumblr media
You're in the Christmas spirit, armed with a piping bag filled with vibrant icing in every shade imaginable. As you delicately squeeze the icing onto your homemade Christmas cookies, your artistic side takes over. Intricate patterns of snowflakes, reindeer, and candy canes come to life on the surface of each cookie. The room is filled with the irresistible scent of warm vanilla and freshly baked treats. With every stroke of your brush-like tool, you add a touch of magic and whimsy to each cookie. It's a delightful and enchanting experience that brings joy to your heart and taste buds. You can't help but feel proud of your edible masterpieces. Humming along to the cheerful Christmas music, you sway your hips side to side, feeling ever so confident in your perfectly fitting Mrs Claus dress. The vibrant color adds a festive touch, while the intricate details and sparkling embellishments make you feel like the star of the holiday season. As you twirl around, the soft fabric gracefully moves with you, creating a sense of elegance and excitement.
As you're busy making Christmas cookies in the kitchen, Bakugou stands by, captivated by the sight. His eyes follow your every move as you expertly decorate every individual festive cookie. The sweet aroma of vanilla and cinnamon fills the air, and he can't resist sneaking a taste of the left over cookie dough when you're not looking. You catch him in the act and playfully scold him, but he just smiles mischievously. He watches with anticipation as you carefully decorate each cookie, adding colorful icing and sprinkles. The joy on your face is contagious, and he can't help but feel lucky to have you. Bakugou’s typically scowling face relaxes for a moment.
‘How did I get so lucky?’ He ponders, blushing as he watches you finally place the final cookie down.
“Can I have one?”
You giggle, playfully rolling your eyes.
“Not yet Suki! You’ve gotta wait like all the others do! Besides, you need to go get dressed into your matching costume!”
God, your smile is contagious.
Bakugou pouts, shivering at the thought of his matching Santa costume. Although the sentiment is cute, he knows his friends will never let him live this down.
As you're busy checking over each Christmas cookie to make sure they are all perfect in the kitchen, Bakugou's friends walk in, their jaws dropping at the sight of you. They can't help but oggle at your stunning beauty, their eyes lingering on every curve and feature. Their playful banter and compliments begin to make Bakugou's blood boil with jealousy. He clenches his fists, his competitive nature kicking in as he silently challenges them for your attention. The room feels charged with tension as his gaze never leaves you, a mix of possessiveness and vulnerability evident in his eyes. Surprisingly, you don’t even acknowledge Denki and Sero’s appearance. Well, Mineta too but he isn’t really anyone’s friend now, is he?
Bakugou shoves his hands in his pockets and walks over to his friends, mumbling and grumbling as he does.
“What do you extra’s want?”
“Hey now! We just wanted to see how Y/N’s cookies were coming along! Everyone knows her baking skills are to die for.” Denki drools at the thought of Y/N’s festive cookies, subtly glancing at the baker as he does.
“She looks good. Red’s a good colour on her.” Sero innocently comments, snickering as Denki looks the unsuspecting girl up and down.
Denki's gaze lingers a little too long on your gorgeous self, Bakugou's jealousy ignites like a firecracker. He explodes, yelling at Denki for daring to ogle his girlfriend.
“STOP FUCKIN’ PERVIN’ OVER MY GIRLFRIEND YOU FAT VIRGIN! I’LL KILL YOU.”
The room fills with tension as Bakugou's anger reverberates through the air. His protective instincts kick in, and he's ready to defend his territory. But amidst the chaos, you stand there, a calming presence, reminding him that you're his and his alone. Bakugou growls and stomps over to you, grabbing you by the waist gently and guiding you away from the staring men and towards Bakugou’s dorm.
“Her ass is so plump…” Mineta drools. Even Denki cringes at his comment.
“Your fuckin’ weird dude.. but, not wrong.” Denki shrugs, as Sero cackles at his sudden switch.
Bakugou, fueled by his jealous outburst, takes you by the waist and leads you to his room. The air crackles with tension as he paces back and forth, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. But you, being the calming force in his life, step closer and gently place your hand on his arm. Your touch has an instant effect, as his fiery gaze softens, meeting your eyes.
“Pay them no attention Suki. You’re the only man I want, hm. You know that! Besides, I’ll always be your personal baker!” You giggle.
With each word, you reassure him of your love and loyalty, reminding him that he's the only one who holds your heart. Gradually, his tense shoulders relax, and a sense of peace washes over him. In that moment, you both find solace in each other's presence. Each day that passes makes Bakugou truly appreciate you more and more. You understand his fiery temper. Instead of getting mad at him, you have this incredible ability to calm him down. Your understanding and patience mean the world to him. You're like a soothing balm to his explosive nature, and he's grateful to have you by his side.
“I’m sorry, I just can’t stand when other guys look at you in a way only I should.”
Your gaze softens, as you raise a hand to rub his cheek.
“Don’t apologise Suki, we all get jealous. I get jealous sometimes too! The main thing is we both trust each other and know nobody and nothing will ever come between us.”
Bakugou smiles. Softly, he looks down into your eyes and pulls you closer to him by your waist. He looks at you with that one look you’re oh so familiar with. Gently, you nod your head, a silent signal you want him too.
“Hold on, i’ve got something I wanna try.”
Bakugou lets go of you for a moment and turns to his dresser, opening the bottom drawer and pulling out a lengthy rope. With a surprisingly gentle touch, he takes your hands and gently clasps them behind your back. His usually intense gaze softens as he looks into your eyes, his touch conveying a mix of protectiveness and vulnerability. In that moment, you can feel the depth of his emotions, his trust in you, and his desire to keep you close. It's a silent gesture that speaks volumes, reminding you of the deep connection you share. Expertly, he begins wrapping the rope around your wrists, binding them together tightly. He pulls the rope up and over your shoulders, then wrapping them under and over your chest. Finishing his work off with a tight knot, which leaves the rope ending wrapped around your waist, he takes a step back to admire his work.
“Fuck..” He mutters.
“You look so perfect like that”
Blushing intensely, you avoid making eye contact with your typically explosive boyfriend. With a gentle but firm hold, he grabs your face by your chin and forces you to look up at him.
“Be a good girl for me, hm? You gonna obey my every word like a good little slut?” He taunts.
“Yes Sir.” You confidently reply without hesitation.
Bakugou grins and he sits himself on the edge of his bed, pulling you down with him and placing you firmly on his lap. He taps your inner thigh, signalling for you to spread your legs. And you do. Obediently, you rest your head back against his shoulder and place either leg over either of his knees, leaving your core exposed.
You can feel the heat of his body against your back, and the rapid beating of his heart matches yours. His touch sends shivers down your spine as he begins to caress your exposed skin with feather-light fingertips.
With a soft and seductive voice, he whispers in your ear, his hot breath sending tingles through your body. His words are a symphony of desire, painting vivid images in your mind and awakening a fire within you. As he speaks, his hands explore every inch of your body, leaving trails of pleasure in their wake.
His touch grows bolder, his fingers tracing the contours of your curves, teasing you. With each caress, he draws you deeper into a state of blissful surrender. The ropes that bind you become a symbol of trust, allowing you to let go completely and immerse yourself in the pleasure he bestows upon you.
Bakugou's lips find their way to your neck, leaving a trail of soft kisses and gentle nips along your sensitive skin. His mouth explores every inch of you, marking you as his own. The sensations overwhelm you, and you gasp for air, losing yourself in the intoxicating dance of pleasure and pain.
His hands continue their journey, skillfully slipping down into your skirt, as he begins to rub your clit with soft, quick motions.
As the intensity builds, your bodies move in perfect synchronization, as you begin softly moaning his name. The room is filled with the symphony of your moans and the sound of skin against skin. Bakugou's passionate whispers of adoration and encouragement fuel the flames of your passion, pushing you closer to the precipice of ecstasy.
Bakugou begins to move faster, bringing you to the edge as he quickly moves his fingers away, earning a disappointing whine from you.
“Awh what’s wrong? Was Mrs Claus about to cum? Hm? Let me make it up to you Princess” Bakugou growls and he pulls your panties to the side and stuffs two thick fingers inside of you. Throwing your head back, you moan his name out loud.
With every moan, he pumps harder and faster, his movements never stopping.
“Atta’ girl, cum for me. Cum for me baby, cmon I know you can do it.”
“F-FUCK! KATSUKI!” You cry out, legs shaking as you finally cum all over his fingers.
Finally, the world around you fades away as waves of pleasure crash over you, consuming every inch of your being. Your bodies tremble in unison as you reach the pinnacle of bliss, and in that moment, you are eternally connected, bound not only by ropes but by a love that knows no limits.
As you come down from the heights of pleasure, Bakugou holds you close, his heartbeat a soothing lullaby against your ear. In his arms, you find solace and contentment, knowing that this intimate journey you shared has only deepened the bond between you. And as you drift into a peaceful slumber, you can't help but smile, grateful for the passionate love that has set your soul ablaze.
As the ropes loosen, Bakugou's eyes meet yours, filled with a mix of tenderness and concern. His voice, laced with a soothing tone, reaches your ears.
"Hey, are you okay? I'm gonna untie you now, but take your time. I'm right here."
With gentle precision, he untangles the knots, his fingertips grazing your skin with utmost care. As each restraint falls away, a sense of relief washes over you. Bakugou's voice remains a constant presence, offering words of reassurance.
"You did amazing, Y/N. I'm proud of you." You softly smile and hum.
Once you're free, he guides you to a cozy space he's prepared in advance. Soft pillows and blankets await, inviting you to sink into their comforting embrace. Bakugou's hands, warm and comforting, guide you to sit or lie down, ensuring your utmost comfort.
With a gentle forehead kiss, Bakugou leaves you alone in his bed for a moment before returning a few minutes later, now paired with a tray with a glass of water and a plate of your favorite snacks, a thoughtful gesture to nourish your body after the intense experience.
"I thought you might need these," he says with a soft smile, his eyes filled with genuine care.
Bakugou's touch lingers, his hands tracing soothing circles on your back, easing any lingering tension.
"I love you, Y/N."
“I love you too Suki.”
As time passes, he continues to provide the aftercare you need, whether it's a gentle massage, stroking your hair, or simply holding you close. His words of affirmation and encouragement create a safe space where you can fully relax and let go, knowing that he cherishes and understands your needs.
In this moment, surrounded by warmth and care, you realize just how fortunate you are to have someone like Bakugou by your side. His unwavering support and tender aftercare make you fall in love with him all over again.
After some rest, Bakugou picks up his Santa costume and sits on the edge of his bed, beside you.
“I suppose I should go change for the Christmas Party now, huh?” He scoffs playfully. You reply with a smile, and a simple nod.
“Go get ready Suki, I’m sure everyone’s waiting for us and my cookies!” You giggle.

Idia Shroud x Fem!Reader ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
The morning light filtered through the high windows of the Ignihyde dormitory, casting a soft glow on the stainless steel surfaces of the kitchen. It was an early start, but excitement bubbled within you as you began the preparations for a special dish, one that you hoped would coax Idia Shroud out of his room and into the warmth of shared company.
Ortho, ever the eager helper, hovered nearby, his mechanical limbs whirring softly as he sorted through the ingredients. “Do you think Brother will like it?” he asked, his digital eyes blinking up at you with a mixture of hope and curiosity.
You chuckled, patting Ortho’s metallic arm reassuringly. “I’m sure he will. We’ll make it irresistible.”
Together, you and Ortho set to work, the kitchen becoming a hive of activity. Ortho, ever the helpful assistant, was meticulously organizing the ingredients, his digital display showing timers and recipes to ensure everything was prepared to perfection. You, with a practiced hand, were seasoning and tasting, adjusting the flavors to create a dish that would not only satisfy the taste buds but also warm the heart.
“Ortho, can you pass me the turmeric?” you asked, your hands busy kneading dough for the naan bread.
“Right away!” Ortho responded, quickly retrieving the spice and pouring out the exact amount needed.
The camaraderie between you was palpable, a seamless partnership that made the work feel more like play. You found yourself laughing more than once at Ortho’s attempts to mimic human expressions, his screen displaying various emojis to match his ‘mood’.
As the curry began to simmer, its spicy scent filling the air, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. This was more than just a meal; it was a bridge, a way to connect with the elusive Idia on a level beyond circuits and screens.
As the dish neared completion, the aroma wafting through the dormitory corridors was enough to draw Idia out of his room—a feat that few could boast of achieving. He arrived in the kitchen with a cautious curiosity, his eyes scanning the room before landing on you and the simmering pot on the stove.
“Is that… for me?” Idia asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice as he took a tentative step forward.
“Yes,” you replied with a smile, “I thought you might enjoy a break from your screens with something homemade.”
Idia’s cheeks flushed a deeper shade of blue, and he fidgeted with the hem of his jacket. “I… I don’t know what to say. No one’s ever…”
Before he could finish, Ortho interjected with his usual cheerfulness. “It’s going to be delicious! Y/N  has been working on it all day!”
You nodded, encouraging Idia to take a closer look. “Here, have a taste,” you offered, scooping a small sample onto a spoon and holding it out to him.
Idia hesitated, his usual shyness in social situations evident. But the enticing smell and your reassuring smile coaxed him closer. As he leaned in to take a bite, his eyes widened in surprise at the burst of flavors. It was as if you had captured the essence of Ignihyde’s innovative spirit in a single dish.
“It’s… incredible,” Idia managed to say, his voice filled with genuine awe.
Just then, a drop of curry threatened to escape, and you quickly placed your hand under his chin, catching it before it could stain his shirt. Idia looked up at you, his expression a mix of embarrassment and gratitude.
“Thanks,” he mumbled, clearly touched by your gesture.
You couldn’t help but smile, a bit flustered by the closeness, and replied, “It’s nothing, really. And I couldn’t have done it without Ortho’s help—he’s been amazing.”
Ortho’s screen lit up with a series of happy emojis, basking in the praise. “I’m always here to assist!” he chimed in, his digital voice filled with pride.
Idia glanced between you and Ortho, and for a moment, he seemed to be at a loss for words, his usual reticence giving way to a rare display of warmth. “Well, I… I appreciate it. Both of you.”

Just Like My Babcha
Sobiesław “Gromsko” Kościuszko x F! Reader
Summary: Y/N comes from a Polish-American family & learned from the best at making homemade pierogi catching the attention of a familiar Polish operator
A/N: I’m not from Poland I myself have polish ancestry & my own Babcha came from Poland but she never taught me unfortunately so if there’s any mistranslations I apologize in advance. For anyone who doesn’t know a pierogi is like a potato dumpling, but it can be filled with cabbage & other food
Warnings: potential mistranslations, traditional gender roles, thoughts of impregnating
Tumblr media
Y/N’s hips swayed side to side to the song that was coming out of the nearby speaker. She used the back of her hand to brush some of her hair out of her face, & got flour on her cheek in the process. It was Easter, & she was making pierogi to celebrate the holiday. She was feeling a little homesick being far away from her family, & called her mother asking for the recipe. The smell of the dough was bringing back nostalgic memories of going to the grand Orthodox Church & coming home for a early lunch. Her babcha would help her little delicate hands pinch the edges to hold the cabbage & potatoes.
She was so focused on cutting the dough properly & to proportion that she didn’t even notice the shadow she was starting to acquire. Sobesław was returning from a mass at the local Orthodox Church when he was pleasantly surprised by the smell of pierogi’s cooking. He walked into the conjoined kitchen & living room area of the apartment he lived in. He was surprised to see their Human Resources Secretary standing there. She was also so kind to him, & was actually able to pronounce his name correctly. He was in utter shock when she was able to pronounce it on the first try.
He leaned up against the doorway as he watched her hum to herself while she started to fill each pierogi. This was a sight he could get used to. Growing up in a very traditional Catholic Polish household had instilled very traditional values. A vision of her with a small baby bump glowing from pregnancy making pierogi’s & other food played in his head. She was absolutely beautiful. Being a civilian, let alone a woman on a military base had to have been intimidating for her. Every time he’d walk into the office she worked out of her head would always been down, failing to make eye contact. Her shyness always intrigued him. He couldn’t imagine someone so stunning want to hide their face all the time.
Her delicate hands started to fold & pinch the pierogis creating the half moon shape. It took one accidental bump into the side of a table for him to gain her attention. A small gasp escaped her lips at the sound & a slew of polish curses rang out of his. A scarlet blush appeared on his cheeks as he tried to cough it off. She looked and smiled at him.
“Oh Sobiesław you startled me,” She started. “I’m assuming you got a good waft of the pierogis I already have cooking.” A small smirk danced on her lips.
“Tak (yes).” He replied. “Just wanted to know if you needed any help. My babcha, she used to make them with me.”
“That’s where I learned too.” She replied enthusiastically. “Well come in! Just make sure you wash up.” He walked into the kitchen & washed his hands in the sink. Once he finished drying them off he stood right beside her. “Hands.” She instructed. He held out his hands and she placed some flour in the them. Rubbing his hands together he spread the flour & got to work.
As he started to put some of the cabbage into the dough, he couldn’t help but notice how petite she was. The pierogis looked significantly larger in her delicate hands than his. She smiled up at him & he nearly melted into the floor right there.
“I can see our Babcha’s had very similar techniques.” She said. “How long have you been cooking them?”
“Ever since I was able to walk.” He replied. “My Babcha wanted me to know so I could pass down the recipe.”
“Mine too.” She replied smiling & continued to fill & pinch the pierogis. “Seems like they’d be close.” He could’ve dropped to one knee right there. She always had a reputation of being so kind, but she truly was an angel. It wasn’t very often that his teammates asked much about his life or his family. It was refreshing & comforting to talk to her about his life back home.
“How does a woman like you wind up in a place like this?” He asked. “You’re an anioł (angel).” She smiled at his compliment. Her life wasn’t the best back home, & the civilian sector of defense contracting provided her with a way out. Good benefits & there would always be work.
“I needed to get out. Home wasn’t the best environment for me to be in.” She replied somewhat solemnly. “Since I have personal health issues I wasn’t qualified for military service but I found employment in the civilian sector.”
A feeling of sadness washed over him. He couldn’t imagine someone as kind & beautiful having to experience something so tragic. It only triggered the instinct to protect & take care of her more. Once the pierogis were cooking away, she started to set the table for the two of them. Beautiful hand painted Polish pottery littered the table. Intricate blue & red floral designs created a kaleidoscope of colors that stood out on the white table cloth.
Sobesław admired her attention to detail even if it was just the two of them. He too was feeling homesick for his country, but seeing all the traditional Polish decor around him made him feel right at home. A timer went off alerting them the last batch of pierogis were done. Sobesław went to take the pierogis off of the pan & Y/N’s hand came down smacking it.
“You go sit down,” She ordered. “I’ll take care of it.” In pure shock he slowly made his way to the table & plopped himself down into a chair. Not long after she started to bring out the tray of pierogis. Soon followed challah bread, kielbasa (sausage), & potatoes.
“Kochanie (my darling) how do you plan for us to eat all of this?” He asked. Her heart fluttered at the term of endearment. She really did cook a meal for a family of ten.
“We’ll manage,” She replied as she poured him a glass of wine. “I’m sure some others will see the leftovers in the fridge. But don’t eat too much there’s still dessert.” She walked back into the kitchen to grab the opłatek (communion wafer) for grace. As she was walking back out she caught Sobesław almost taking a huge bite out of a pierogi.
“Tsk tsk, we still have to say grace!” She stated. A small blush crept onto his face, he had forgotten. She walked up to him handing the opłatek to him for him to break off a piece. Then she place a small kiss to his forehead. She walked to her place setting & sat down. A small prayer was said & they both each ate their piece of the opłatek. “Now you can dig in.” She teased.
He immediately started to pick up the pierogi he cut earlier. A small moan escaped his lips as the pierogi touched his tongue. He started to hear wedding bells the more he ate.
“I’m assuming it’s good.” She laughed. He nodded still speechless from the food that was in his mouth.
“They’re just like my babcha’s.” He replied after he swallowed. She smiled at the complimented & started to cut into her own food. “What are you doing next Friday?” He asked.
“Nothing.” She replied.
“I want to returned the favor, let me take you out.” He stated very bluntly.
“Sure! It’s a date.” She replied & started to eat the food in front of her. His heart leaped, & he couldn’t wait to tell his babcha he found the girl he was going to marry.

a fluffy fall date night with remus or Aaron and he totally just goes along with your love of fall so you’re like idk making homemade pizza in the shape of ghosts or pumpkins and you’re doing something crafty like painting and watching the best fall/Halloween movies and it’s just lovely and soft and wonderful
Going w aaron cos it just feels like such a thing to get his mind off work
You’ve got something easy playing on the tv. Nothing like horror, but something cozy and that just screams fall.
For you, that’s ‘Practical Magic’ and Aaron doesn’t mind it one bit.
“Are we making individual pizzas?” He asks, watching you cut the ball of dough in half.
He’s in his slacks still, but has since shedded his shirt and jacket since coming into the kitchen.
Aaron’s hair is a little flat from the day, and his cologne has almost completely gone from his skin.
It had been a hard day- as most were, but you’d figured this was a good way to wind down.
Making ghost pizzas, watching something cozy, and finishing the night with hot chocolate with little ghost shaped marshmallows that you’d made before he got home.
“Yeah, they’re little ghost guys. Jack made his for tomorrow already.” You show Aaron the pizza that’s cooling on the stove top and he grins.
Jack’s pizza is full of cheese, olives and prosciutto- a pizza you know Aaron’s will resemble.
“And I got the good chocolate for hot cocoa.” You point to the block of pure cocoa near the canister of sugar and cinnamon.
Aaron feels his chest flutter at your care. You’ve always been good at taking care of him; helping him unwind and leave work at the BAU.
He’s always been grateful for it too. You don’t probe unless it’s affecting his demeanor, and that allows him to leave it alone when he gets home to you and Jack.
“You’re god sent,” he says softly, holding your cheek as he tips your face up. His lips brush yours gently, noses nudging as he kisses you. “Truly.”
You kiss him again, a peck really, but still with all the love as the first one.
“C’mon, let’s try baking these off before Gillian kills her boyfriend.”

Cozy nights in - Sebastian Sallow X Ominis Gaunt X GN!MC
A fluffy lil thing I wrote on the spot because everything in my life is testing me and I needed some small comforts 💚
Warnings: mentions of alcohol, this is just an adorable fluff piece for our favorite trio so it’s pretty SFW
Tumblr media
Sebastian chuckled from where he sat on the counter watching his best friends in the kitchen. Their third was currently tying a frilly blue apron onto a protesting, red cheeked Ominis. “Don't be silly! There must be another apron, at least switch with me…there’s no frills on yours. You’re doing this to make a mockery of me, aren’t you?”
They chuckled. “Maybe a little. But really I just need your help and Sebastian is absolute shit at baking.” They finished the ties on Ominis’ apron before handing him a flour sifter and arranging him in front of the freshly cleaned counter. “Alright now just layer a nice even dusting across the counter by turning that crank.”
Ominis grumbled but began turning the crank, moving his body to make sure he covered the appropriate area of the counter. “You do remember I’m BLIND right?”
They waved him off as he set the sifter aside and let them toss the dough down in front of him. “And you’re still more competent than Mr snores-a-lot. So hush.”
The third moved to Ominis’ side, grabbing the sifter and adding just a bit more flour while Sebastian half heartedly argued from where he sat leaned back against the cabinet. “Rude. At least I don’t hog the blankets like someone.”
Ominis scoffed and set about kneading the dough and integrating the flour so it didn’t stick to the surface. Once satisfied he took the rolling pin and began to roll, stopping and adding more flour as needed to prevent sticking. “Do you two ever stop bickering about each other? I swear to Merlin there can’t be a moment of peace in this cottage.”
The guilty parties chuckled while their third set about chopping ingredients for the ‘pizza’. Ominis rolled the dough into the best circle he could make and Sebastian ‘supervising’ as he drank from his afternoon mug of coffee, a habit one of them hated, but allowed anyway since Ominis was more than pleased to have afternoon tea with them.
They turned and beamed at the wonky circle of dough Ominis had rolled, pleased with its thickness. They carefully brought the pot of garlicky-smelling tomato sauce, spreading it liberally before setting the tray of toppings beside it and letting them all decorate their own portion with what they desired.
They’d passed the time it spent baking in the oven, tortured by the mouth watering scent and taking turns playing chess. Sebastian grumbled. “This is ridiculous, you both are far too good at this game. I give up. I’m going to go make a drink, would either of you care to join in?”
They both passed, content with the freshly made ice cold lemonade they’d prepared that morning in nearly the same fashion as the pizza fiasco.
They’d ended the night in front of the fire in a cozy dog pile, sipping the remnants of watered down lemonade, full of homemade pizza and listening to Sebastian, who had a gentle buzz, read his current adventure novel for them.

[ID: Two images of a homemade pizza; the first shows it in a cast iron pan, uncooked, mostly looking like a heap of shredded cheese with red and green peeping through here and there. The second shows it cooling on a rack after baking, with the green a little more visible; the crust and cheese are golden brown.]
The pizza dough recipe I use calls for the dough to rest in the fridge for at least 12 hours between risings, so usually I make it in the evening and leave it in the fridge overnight, then cook it the next morning before work, meaning I often have pizza for breakfast. Having mastered the basics, I'm now playing around with flavors; usually if I use homemade pesto it's as a sauce on its own, but this time I decided to put down a layer of red sauce, then a very light layer of cheese, then sauteed mushroom and blobs of pesto, then more cheese.
Tumblr media
This might be one of the finest pizzas I've ever eaten. It's for sure the best one I've ever made. Holy crap.
[ID: The final image is of the pizza sliced into quarters; one of the slices is offset and has a few bites taken out of it. The crust is visible, full of little air bubbles, and the red sauce can be seen under the cheese, flecked with herbs, while the pesto has an almost caramelized surface to it.]
