The moray eel doesn't have an exact mating season because they only mate when there is enough food and a suitable habitat. But most morays will mate in warmer waters because the temperatures are usually the best for mating. Morays will also open and close their mouths very widely at one another to show that they wish to mate!

Applying that to Jade and Floyd, they could essentially just choose to mate with you whenever they want, but I think they're both particular about the season. Floyd wants to mate with you in the summer because the waters are warm and comfortable, and it's the perfect time to give his shrimpy plenty of babies! Jade prefers the spring because that's when everything is in bloom (or is just starting to bloom) and it's a beautiful transition from winter to spring. But since they intend to mate with you at the same time, they'll settle for something in between both seasons. Perhaps the month where spring gives way to summer.

You probably won't know about the opening and closing of the mouth, which is how they'll trap you. Floyd does it quite noticeably, but Jade's a little covert with it. Perhaps you'll think Floyd's playing a game and so you'll do it back, and after a few times they're certain you want to mate (horny moray delusion...). Unlike Azul, the twins will want you to stay human when they fuck you. Your small size is so cute to them, and they want to see you cry when they stuff you full. The mating process will last for hours, so enjoy being sandwiched between both of them in the water, their long bodies curled snugly around you. <3

Absolutely, anon! I am very excited because I have *ideas* in mind for them already so I've been excited to talk about it.

Octavinelle - Mating Habits and Anatomy

CW: Discussions of non-human anatomy, intersex anatomy (in case that may be triggering!), sexy eel anatomy, UNsexy eel anatomy, heat/rut/mating cycles mentioned and how they impact the boys. (It is of note because I know this come up for mating cycles a lot in fiction, but there is no talk of nonconsent in this at all, if that’s a concern.) Unnecessarily long because I have many thoughts and have ready waaaaay too much about eel anatomy and octopus anatomy. (I regret nothing lol.) Xenophilia(?) or monster fuckery perhaps? Just depends on your definition of that.

Note: All characters are depicted as being in their mid to late twenties in this.

Azul Ashengrotto

Octopi do not have a mating season, so Azul's sex drive doesn't peak at any particular time of year. It's just depends on when he's in the mood.

Azul doesn't have a heightened sense of smell like the eels or anyone in savanaclaw while on land. HOWEVER, if his partner is able to make him feel safe enough to show them his octopi form, he can detect scent and taste with his tentacles. It would only take him reaching for them with his tentacles to quite literally taste it on their skin, and when he does his arousal is going to skyrocket immediately.

Azul's dick in human form is just like anyone else's dick thanks to the potion which transforms him into a human.

When he's in his true form, though, he does have a hectocotylus. It is the third tentacle on his right-hand side, and it functions more or less like a penis. (Octopi merfolk's anatomy differs slightly from actual octopi, but mostly because their organ orientation is more similar to a bipedal animal instead of an octopus-- the anus and vaginal opening are situated under their web since octopi merfolk don't have a mantle. They are around the area of where a wild octopus' beak would be.)

Azul's hectocotylus has a slightly spade-like ridged shape at the end that is made of erectile tissue which is the only part of the tentacle that gets hard. The rest of the arm is made of muscle and has suckers beginning around 10 inches from the tip. Aside from the 'head' it looks identical to his other tentacles.

Unlike wild octopi, Azul cannot remove his hectocotylus arm from his body for the means of reproduction. He also will not die after mating.

As for mating rituals, his species usually use the chromatophores to send signals of their interest. That being said, Azul's signals are extremely hard to see for most other species of merfolk, let alone the people living on land. So, instead of that, he often conveys his interest via lavish shows of affection or gifts. It's not an exact parallel, but it's the next best thing that he can think of.

Floyd and Jade Leech

Being Moray eels, neither Jade nor Floyd have any sort of mating season. Their sex drives are not dictated by any sort of cycle and they don't get particularly hot and bothered during any part of the year. Truth be told, this is probably the most human part of their reproduction at least so far as their merfolk forms are concerned.

They might not have a heat or rut cycle, however... well, frankly, they get baby fever. Like actual eels, when they have enough food and a safe place to live it puts them in the mindset to have kids. Unlike wild eels, though, they would be much better parents, should their partners want to have kids with them.

Their anatomy is deeply interesting. It's not entirely the same as wild moray eels, but not entirely human either. Merfolk eels are all intersex, and short of a medical condition most will have both viable eggs and the ability to produce sperm. Early during their puberty is when the moray merfolk develop the sex characteristics that determine the outward appearance of their reproductive organs, and much like with humans who are born intersex, the appearance is somewhat of a sliding scale. Being identical twins, Floyd and Jade both developed their external sex the same way.

Not related to mating, perse, but because of this moray merfolk (and many other types of merfolk) don't have a concept of a binary gender. They don't typically use gendered pronouns or self identify with a gender unless they decide to go on land and describe themselves. In those cases, they typically will pick whatever they feel fits them best.

Back on topic, their genitals vary between their human and mer forms. Due to the potion they take to remain on land, their human dick looks like... well, a dick.

Contrary to their wild eel counterparts, the Leech twins' anatomy is a sort of hybrid of internal and external as eel merfolk are capable of mating with many other species of merfolk. When they are just swimming, they have sheaths that their external genitals retract into that sits on their pelvis area just above where their anus is. (Yes, it is on the front of their bodies in this form.) However, with stimulation their external genitals with unsheath in preparation for penetrative sex. (Not that you have to have penetrative sex, that's just what the anatomical function is for.) Their penises are tapered and nearly entirely made of erectile tissue, without a real appearance of a 'head' to speak of. When cumming from their external genitals, they will produce a much higher quantity of fluid than the average human. (This also occurs in their human form, but not to the same extent.)

Now for the internal genitals. Depending on the species of merfolk, most will lay eggs and mate externally. In fact, this is the most common form of mating for moray eelfolk as well, as penetrative sex isn't really all that common unless necessary to breed. Instead, most the genitalia of eel merfolk are structured in such a way that without the external stimulation to cause an erection, the ejaculate will leave their body through the anal opening similar to the way it does in most species of fish. Again, they will produce more fluid through this than an average human. They have a prostate, and their internal anatomy means their gonads acts as an additional pleasure point inside their body, so if that's something you're into it's your lucky day.

Moving right along, Jade and Floyd are similar to their savanaclaw counterparts that they can smell arousal on their partners and others. Their sense of smell is slightly stronger than a human's on land, and keenly stronger while in water.

On eel mating habits... they certainly retain a few of their moray eel cousins habits that are different from other merfolk and land dwellers. There are two main ones that are interesting:

Opening the mouth widely (or yawning, basically) is still a symbol to them of interest in mating. It certainly led to a lot of misunderstandings when they first came on land, and they don't necessarily take it as sign of wanting to mate anymore, they still might get a little hot under the collar if their partner yawns around them.

The other is dancing. Moray eelfolk do a sort of dance immediately prior to mating which involves wrapping their bodies together. What this translates to on land is that the twins will usually dance with their partners if they're trying to show an interest in taking things to the bedroom. Not every dance is a mating dance, mind you, but it would be pretty clear what is because they will want to have their bodies as close to their partner as they possibly can.

As a final note: since the eels both have fully developed ovaries with viable eggs, that means should they find a surrogate to carry the children for them (since their anatomy doesn't allow them to give birth), they are capable of having a partner provide sperm and still be capable of having biological children should they choose to go through the surgery to do so.

His Work and Nothing More (Azul)

Azul is a businessman, his girlfriend knew very well where she was getting herself when they started dating.

Words cannot describe how much I love this song from the Jekyll and Hyde Concept Album. Also, you might think I have it out for the octotrio and, honestly, I don't blame you, I might have.

Also also, keeping up with the trend, the twins and Azul call each other "soulmate" because, honestly? The three are a package deal.

"Azul, you're so lame."

Azul rolls his eyes at Floyd, not daring to take his focus away from his work, not daring to give the eel any incriminating reaction. He's really not in the mood for eel shenanigans.

"I'm inclined to agree, Azul," Jade joins, because of course he does. Where one goes, the other follows, after all. "I've never seen you lose your cool like that."

"Yeah, and it wasn't even the fake cool!" Floyd claps childishly, but Azul can see the dangerous glint in his eyes.

"... What do you want?"

"Shrimpy back."

"Not happening. Besides, you heard her, Monstro Lounge is a stupid scam hole, I don't think she'd want to return so soon, if ever."

"Monstro Lounge did steal her boyfriend."

"She knew exactly who she was dating!"

Azul can feel the headache returning. It's been three days since he ended his relationship with the Ramshackle Housewarden, the girl everyone affectionately call "Prefect". They had a fight over his work, with him patient and benevolently explaining to her yet again that his work is important and there are times where he must give it all of his attention, while she'd unfairly accuse him of not caring about anything but his work.

At the end of his rope, he had snarled that maybe they shouldn't be together if that's what she thinks. Only after the girl was long gone and he was calmer he'd register the look of absolute hurt and hopelessness that took over her face for a moment before she steeled her expression and agreed to the break up.

So now Azul had to deal with being alone and feeling guilty on top of being heartbroken.

To make things worse, the twins won't shut up about it, the two being almost as attached to her as he was. (Y/N) was—is responsible for some of their biggest personal developments. Giving Jade a space to trust and open up, giving Floyd the support and guidance he needs, and slowly building up Azul's confidence. The twins adore her, so of course they're bothering him like there's no tomorrow.

The worst part? They're absolutely right.

And Azul hates it.

Both being wrong and what he is wrong about. He can lie to them and himself all he wants, he can pretend everything is ok and nothing bothers him, he can play his same old role again—and that's the problem, isn't it? The same old role, wear it like a mantle, regress all his steps, go back to the past to run away from his present without her.

Which is ironic, because his past self was also without her.

(Y/N) hates his old mask. She understands why he had it, and understands that he can't give up all of it and may never be able to fully be rid of it. She even encouraged him to eventually absorb it, make the good parts—the confidence, the suaveness, the silver tongue—his own.

"You certainly have the core to keep it all," she had told him, not knowing how wrong she was.

Azul is a coward. A coward, a loser, a fool.

Undeserving.

"Soulmate, you're gonna wet the papers," it's Floyd's voice that reaches his ears, but it's Jade's hands that takes off his glasses and dries his tears. "You octobaby~"

"... How long has it been since you've called me soulmate?"

"Overblot."

So of course the twins know what to do. What he needs. He doesn't need to cheer up, he doesn't need comfort. He needs a push. He needs courage to right his wrongs once more.

Azul almost laughs at the prompt response that comes in unison. The evening after his overblot was spent cuddling, just how they did when they were young, three souls in one harmony. No words were exchanged, they did not—they do not need words to understand each other. Soulmates, Azul's mom had once joked, and it stuck.

"She's hanging out with Mr. Shroud near the main building," Jade answers before he can even ask, showing Azul his phone.

On it, is a picture—probably sent by one of Jade's indebted informants—of (Y/N) laughing with Idia. What gets his attention is how casually she touches the boy's arms, and how he lets her despite the blush covering his cheeks. It wouldn't be surprising, (Y/N) can be very touchy, if it weren't the fact it is Idia Shroud of all people, the guy who'd pass out if someone as much as breathed his direction. And yet, he allows the Prefect to talk to him face-to-face and even touch him. If that's not a flag, Azul might need new glasses.

He feels Floyd fix his hair and his hat with precise movements, and when he raises his hand, Jade gives him his glasses, now impossibly clean, in exchange of his phone back.

Taking a deep breath, he rises.

Azul is used to running after his goals by any means necessary, and this time he will not spare effort.

"If you come back without Shrimpy, I'll eat the tips of all your tentacles."

"It's a deal. Jade, you're in charge."

"Yes, sir."

Pheobe had an accident during alchemy because of the braincell trio and now she got turned into a Pokémon, what Pokémon would she be and how would her team react? ( I think it would be cute seeing her bigger Pokémon/the pokemon moms try to baby her or at least return the care she gives)

She would end up as a shiny Cherubi. The color palette is close to Phoebe's I just like the shiny version.

The boys are freaking out that they made Phoebe disappear until Rotom tells them to look down. They see a Cherry creature with Phoebe's lab coat surrounding it.

Now they have to carry around their friend who is now a Cherubi, according to Rotom, after getting an earful from Crewel, they need to keep an eye on her until he finishes a reversal potion.

They have to admit, she did look adorable even when she was upset with her predicament.

Her Pokemon can tell its Phoebe, even as a Pokemon, her scent is the same. Haxorus and Aggron having a soft spot for Grass types would cradle Phoebe in their claws.

The baby Pokemon though would swarm her because new playmate! Phoebe feels a bit intimidated now that she's as small as the baby Pokemon.

Phoebe thought that this might not be too bad and decided to enjoy herself, for once Crowley cannot tell her to do stuff anymore. She does things Pokemon do.

Riding in Kangaskhan's pouch was warm and fun.

Sunbathing with the other Pokemon was relaxing.

Though trying Pokemon food was not pleasant and tasted bad...

She tried to use some moves but all of them were flimsy attempts and were quite weak. She wonders how Pokemon do it so well.

BONUS below...

At one point she wanted to see the boys' reaction to her being a Pokemon.

They were made aware by Crewel and Rotom of the weird circumstance. Some were curious to see Phoebe so some of them went to find her.

Kalim, Floyd, Cater, and Rook came to find Phoebe and they can't help but coo at how small and cute she is.

Kalim picks her up and twirls her around because she's round and smells so nice a subtle cherry scent.

Floyd though, scared Phoebe at first when he ran at her at full speed not knowing if she was going to get smashed by his shoes or squeezed in his arms. It was a hilarious chase of an eel going after a walking cherry.

In the end, Jade had to calm Floyd down because he was just so excited. Floyd wasn't too rough but phoebe was a bit shaken from the chase earlier.

Cater takes pics of her Cherubi form and even presented her to Riddle who can't help but agree with how cute she looks. All the other dorm residents want to take turns cradling her. At least Trey gave her a sweet pie after that ordeal.

Rook just scared the hell out of her. Snatching her from the shadows before she could scream, he brought her to Pomefiore to Vil and Epel.

Epel went papa bear mode and stopped Rook from scaring her, he didn't care if Vil was present, he wants the huntsman to apologize to his friend!

Phoebe's other encounters happened by chance, Jack was tending to his cactus in the greenhouse when he sees Phoebe coming toward him. He didn't do much but he let her play with his tail.

There was also Idia who saw everything on camera, Ortho brought him, Phoebe, when he mumbled out loud how he wants to examine the Cherubi form. He nearly has a heart attack because of how cute she just looked.

So bouncy and squishy! A perfect plush. Maybe he can develop a plush toy that moves this adorably.

Lastly was Malleus, Phoebe herself made her way to Diasomnia and sees Malleus and Lilia having a chat. Malleus was once again, the last to find out about the potion incident.

But he can't help but fondly smile at Phoebe's cheerful form. So small and fragile yet she walks up to him so casually. A child of man became a child of cherry but she still holds the same friendliness.

@mostrohost​ sent:  "Happy birthday, Jade." Azul pushes his glasses up, raising his chin triumphantly as if he's won some game that Jade doesn't know about. Although it's traditional to wait until after the birthday pictures have been taken and the cake has been cut to give presents, the greedy little cecaelia in him wants to see Jade's reaction now.

"Since this is such a rare, once a year event," his tongue clicks sharply on the 't', "it should be something special, no? You're a very busy person and don't have all day, so this won't take long."

Still, he's gentle when he presses a large wrapped sphere into Jade's hands; the glossy black and gold paper crinkling softly under the eel's palms. When Azul lets go of it, it's decently heavy - perhaps three pounds at most, and well-balanced so as to help prevent accidentally tip it over.

Peeling the paper back would reveal a bubble-like enclosure of alchemically treated glass, hosting a recreation of one of the Coral Lesser known, but no less beautiful, reefs. A tap on the top of the glass would change the light within between night and day, and one could watch all manner of sea life swim and crawl by.

"It's durable, so no need to worry about Floyd breaking it." Azul adds with confidence, reaching up to hook a finger into Jade's collar and pull him down - the better to prevent someone from overhearing.

His lips brush against Jade's cheek once, briefly, as he speaks. "Don't try and eat what's inside. Even your stomach won't be able to take it."

Turning his head, he sinks his teeth gently into the soft flesh of Jade's cheek; lingering just for a second before wiping the spot clean and letting him go.

"I look forward to another year of watching you grow and improve. I know you won't disappoint." The pride in his eyes might seem strange, but there's nothing else that Azul is looking at but Jade, and all of Jade, alone.

He wasn’t surprised in the least, but he was impressed, when Azul tucked the gift into his gloveless palms. Jade had lifted an arm to gently peel apart the golden foils of wrappers while admitting to himself that he was mildly curious what Azul would get him. Floyd never held back his spending — he simply got whichever was more appropriate for the receiver. Azul, however, depends, because parting him from his vault of treasures was equivalent to a death sentence to the octopi. It was a gift, he knew, but he had not expected such an expensive-looking gift. From his personal assessment of the item’s quality and weight, it must have cost at least fifty thousand madol. 

“It’s beautiful,” He says, but it looks rather expensive, he adds in his heart. Jade had left the second half of the sentence to his face, allowing Azul to decipher it if he ever managed to catch that look. The look with his eyes blinking and wide, his mouth formed into a small ‘o’ shape, the second-long pause in his speech before he adds again. this time with a smile, “Thank you, Azul. I imagine even Floyd would be mindful not to break such an item. It is, after all, a reminder of home.” 

Whether that was Azul’s intention of his gift or not, Jade knew that his words carried weight either way. Life on land had been nice, fun, amusing, even. But neither of them had truly forgotten that their true home was the sea. 

Distracted by the sheer beauty of the globe, he had not realised that Azul had slipped his fingers under his collar. His back hunched at the sudden movement as Jade’s grip over the globe tightens in fear of it falling from his hands. The part of his skin that came into contact with wet lips tingles, an electrical wave radiating from where Azul made contact throughout his body. It stings — and Jade had both wanted to recoil and let the moment stay at the same time.

Was that the thing that humans do?

“Eat it? I cannot believe you would think that I am stupid, Azul.” He gave an awkward laugh, but it was with mirth. “Unfortunately, I’m not nearly as curious as Floyd. It would be simply terrible to endure a tummy ache in the middle of class.” The thought posed some anxiety for Jade; to be in the center of attention under many watchful eyes. Not to mention the number of enemies he’s made collecting debts...

“I won’t disappoint.” He repeats those words as if it were a promise. It was easy to look down once Azul pulled back and let all the endless destinies of his life mirror in his eyes like stars in the sky. If he choose to remain as Azul’s secretary forever, even outside of Night Raven, at least, Jade thought, it would be something he’d chosen for himself.

Both of them? I couldn't say if you're lucky or the total opposite...

Jade would get curious about you, as a non-human magical being he would get easily attracted to a human unable to cast any kind of magic

Floyd would see you as a object of entertainment, something to hush away his boredom when nedeeed

You notice the interest of both and... kinda play along with it! Let me explain;

You answer Jade's questions about you, about your life, about humans and pretty much everything he has to ask! You are always patient when explaining, so so he always come back

When it comes to Floyd, you don't get what he exactly wants, but the twin looks in a good mood almost everytime he's with you so... you're ok with being his "entertainer" even if it means getting mad on purpose or playing tag in a very extreme way....

And at this point is where the twins, slowly but surely, fall for you!

For Jade, is a very conscious process. As more he knows about you, more he wants to know, of course he would prefer your voice telling him every answer he wants, but using other methods doesn't hurt either.

For Floyd, it's semi-unconscious, why he wants to spend more time with you? Why is he thinking about you when you're not around? Why he feels disgusted when others around you are too close to you? It is confusing, but he's not dumb and he's quick to figure it out.

Both of them accept this, accept you, pretty easy honestly, you're not taken, after all.

Jade have a plan, one schemed and slow step-by-step plan. He will approach to you with small gifts and sweets smiles and high hopes for this plan to succeed.

Floyd doesn't have plan, he's just a natural, you see?

So Floyd breaks down Jade's plan.

One night, when the Leech are changing to their sleeping clothes, Floyd mention something about you that made Jade curious.

So Jade made Floyd speak out his feelings, and only then, the serious eel confesses his owns.

They both grin at each other. And then a game around you starts.

An overwhelming attention is on you now. When Jade's not around, Floyd is.

You have no idea what's going on with them, but for a long time, they become a time consumer for you.

Jade like to plan out things with you, invites you to his club, buys you food you like, helps you out with things when you ask, and even when you don't.

Floyd appears of sudden instead, and takes you out for a good time! Dancing, playing or just going around with him it's like fun guaranteed, even if you end exhausted afterward.

This friendly competition between the eels continues and escalates faster than expected, a day cannot be complete until you saw both of the tweens multiple times.

One day, it ends.

You can't see any of the twins around even when you look for them around school.

You missed them, but concluded that, maybe, they just got bored. That make you feel down, they were good friends after all...

A letter arrives a week later.

"By this medium, we cordially invite you to monstro lounge next friday, after close. Bring yourself only."

You couldn't tell if this was good or bad news. But you didn't feel like having options here, so...

It's friday and you are there. The doors open for you and the atmosphere of the empty lounge receives you along with the twins smiling at you with a weird look in their eyes.

Twst Species headcannons

Beastmen:

-Palms and bottoms of their feet are rougher and more padded, as well as a slightly darker shade than their normal skin tone

-Legs are built similar to the hind legs of animals (with the sharp angles and little bumps)

-Start “walking” as children on all fours because it’s more comfortable due to the way their legs are built

-Many have scars under their bottom lip due to accidentally biting it bc their fangs were longer after losing their baby teeth

-Similarly, they also have small scars across various parts of their bodies due to their claws

-They also play wrestle with mates and potential mates to show their interest and affection. Not too hard, but enough to jostle the mate around. They will be absolutely smitten if the mate does it back.

-Beastmen grow up using the same sounds their animal counterparts do, as its similar to being taught a first language that the rest of your family speaks. Most aren’t taught English (Or commonspeak since England is nonexistent in Twisted Wonderland) until later in life

-Beastmen can understand similar dialects and tones of other species, and can further understand and speak a little bit of other beastmen languages

-They cannot eat certain foods that their mother species can’t. Canine beastmen cannot eat chocolate, onions, etc, feline beastmen cannot eat onions, garlic, grapes, etc etc without having issues afterwards. (This makes them a target for pranksters on NRC’s campus. Ex: The incident of Heartslabyul’s Ace Trappola switching out all the tea for coffee during the unbirthday party and Chenya unfortunately missing the cues and drinking the whole cup)

-They are very territorial to anyone besides the clan they reside with. The only people they aren’t territorial with are young children, although they are on high alert if the child’s guardian is nearby

-Beastmen will adopt a child if they see it doesn’t have a clan to stay with, regardless of species. It’s not unheard of to see a beastchild of another species or a young human in beastman clans

-I saw a hc that said that Rook is mixed beastman/human so I’m gonna roll with that for the next one: Beastmen and human mixed babies can have the same attributes as beastmen but on a tamer scale. Their vision, hearing, sense of touch and smell could be higher than a human’s but not as high as a beastmans. The ears and tail are the more dominant gene but it’s not uncommon to see a mixed beastmen/human child with more human features

-Beastmen grow larger than most humans, with the average beastmen (under the right conditions) ranging around six ft at full height. Female hyena beastmen grow taller than their male counterparts

Mer:

-They’re hypersensitive to sunlight at first and have to wear sunglasses or something shading their eyes their first few weeks on land

-They also get dehydrated very easily even in human form, so they have to carry around water bottles

-Their skin dries out quickly, so their hands and feet especially will be very dry and potentially cracking unless they moisturize often

-They have a lot of back and leg pain because they’re not used to gravity pulling them down

-Can also see in the dark very well due to living at the bottom of the ocean

-Their hair is also very thin and silky, but separated into thick chunks, almost looking like scales from a distance. Furthermore most Mer don’t like having longer hair due to the amount of effort it takes to maintain it, with currents twisting it up and the high chances of it getting stuck between rocks and coral

-Most mer have the habit of picking up whatever’s nearby and eating it raw, due to the fact that their bodies can process it. It’s not uncommon to see a mer picking a crab off the side of their house and plopping it into their mouth.

-They have no problem with eating the fish they are associated with, and they do not consider it cannibalism since they aren’t exactly the same species. (Meaning the Tweels can eat eel and Azul can eat octopus without any problems)

-Baby mer can swim around at a very young age (from just a few days old), and mature faster than most other species in the first few weeks of their lives

-Azul has horizontal, rectangular pupils

-Aside from cecaelia, most mer do have slanted pupils that change shape depending on the danger in the area.

-Mer communicate under the water using clicks and chitters similar to echolocation, and could choose to not learn commonspeak as they don’t interact with humans as much as beastmen

-They are born with teeth and can eat smaller fish from birth (or hatching, depending on the species)

-They’re not mammals, so they don’t have nips I think

-They don’t choose to wear clothing or accessories unless it’s for a formal event or a family heirloom

-Back to the birth thing I think mer eggs are very easy to lose due to the harsh climate of the ocean. Many mer settle for only having a child or two due to how hard it is to raise a child there. Jade and Floyd also hatched from the same egg, meaning they were on the smaller side as babies

-Mer babies also bite to show affection, and will wrap their tail around their guardians when they feel scared or nervous

-Cecaelia babies are well known for sticking to their guardians for the first few weeks of their lives, and are very difficult to pry off due to the strength of their tentacles (And when they do theres little marks left across their backs, stomachs, shoulders, etc from the suction cups) (I’m sorry i cant stop picturing tired momma ashengrotto walking around w little marls on her and baby azul still stuck to her like 👁👁)

-I know this is a little far fetched and is nowhere near mentioned in the game or comic but I have a feeling the tweels have a hard time seeing out of their gray eye? Like coming from the same egg they maybe took some features from the other or they had a difficult development while in there (or maybe I just know nothing abt twins)

-Incredibly territorial, especially towards members of different species.

-Most mer have skin pigmented similar to their tail color as well as thick layers of scales (if their species permits) around their throats, their sides, their arms, and around their ear fins (It throws me off how Azul and the Tweels are the only ones with different skin tones- like you’re telling me you have two teal mer and a black and white mer but the guards at the museum had just blue tails and absolutely no other signs of being a mer??? Give us green Rielle pls and thx)

-Mer grow much larger than humans and beastmen, and don’t stop growing until their twenties.

-They also have markings on their torso, tail, and face that’s similar to others in their families. Normally you can tell which mer is from which family depending on the markings said mer has

-Similar to beastmen tails and ears, mer can be read by their fins. In extreme emotion, mer’s fins will flare out or flatten against their body when they feel threatened.

-They don’t know how to drink things when they get to the surface. I think they’d struggle with the idea since you can’t drink underwater or else the liquid will go everywhere (but then how’d Azul make those potions???)

Fae:

-Also hypersensitive to sunlight, which results in many fae being nocturnal.

-Older fae have been known to go days without any sleep with little to no repercussions. Younger fae have more difficulty with this.

-They have a stronger immunity to magic, and often potions crafted by them are well known to be more potent due to this fact

-Fae speak many languages, with many smaller species talking in little chirps and bell like noises, with bigger species talking in low growls and hissing noises. Fae on opposite sides of this cannot understand each other, but each species of small fae can understand other small fae, and larger ones can understand other large ones, even if there’s a difference in language.

-All of them can practice transformation magic without the use of a spell or potion, regardless of genetic makeup. It’s not uncommon to see large dragons or other reptiles walking the streets of the Valley pf Thorns, nor is it too uncommon to see small “floods” or floating fire balls in more secluded areas of the woods

-Fae grow the largest out of all the groups, but have control over their size due to their transformation magic. They don’t stop growing until they appear the same age as thirty (but is actually a much longer time considering their lifespans)

-Because of this fae take much longer to mature from birth/hatching (I like to think 1 normal year= 80~ years) (So An 80 y/o fae would only be equal to a one year old in any other species)

-Very reserved in their relationships with other fae and especially species. I think the cultural differences between other fae is enough to create a large gap between them, and most fae understand the difference in life span between them and other species, so they actively go out of their way to avoid forming relationships with them. (I feel like this is a part of why Sebek is so abrasive towards humans. I mean, his life span has to be different even if he’s only half, so he might be using his anger to deflect his own feelings about eventually having to lose his human father and Silver, as much as they bicker. Poor guys just in denial and trying to protect himself :(()

Human:

-Humans who grew up around magic users have more resilience to magic and potions (meaning Mc/Yuuken, who grew up in a world without magic at all, is more susceptible and will be effected longer by the side affects of potions and spells, or the spells will pack more of a punch and be potentially more dangerous)(Meaning they could take a sleeping potion meant to give the user a full nights rest and be out for a week straight)

-The chances of a human’s unique magic leaning in one direction depends on the area they live in and what resources they have available (I can’t think of anyone else’s unique magic who does this but Kalim’s oasis maker is a big example. He mentioned they had difficulty getting water on the Land of the Hot Sands so maybe that could have been a factor that altered the makeup of his magic. Like a demand and supply type deal?)

-Magical human’s pupils also change shape when they’re using their magic. I like to think that whenever it’s being used their pupils are blown wide to the point where you can hardly see their actual eye color

-Either that or their eyes glow

-Magic using humans are typically stronger, but have lower endurance than non magic users. This is due to the strain that’s put on their bodies even when magic isn’t in use. There are potions they can use to lessen these effects, and many choose to naturally boost their endurance through various activities, but they have to work harder than non magic using humans

Like, after the party he would fall asleep in his office, on the sofa and reader would come in, generally worried about him? Then maybe cover him with a blanket so he doesn't feel cold? 👉👈 bonus points if reader decides to stay and keep the Leech Twins out of Azul's office, poor man deserves some good sleep. ^-^

It was starting to turn dark outside, clock approaching curfew. Few people remained around Mostro Lounge to continue celebrating the birthday of Octavinelle’s dorm leader, the merciful Azul Ashengrotto.

As it was getting late, the ever attentive Jade started moving around, cleaning tables and taking dirty plates over to the kitchen to be washed. Floyd, who was in a good enough mood to take a break from the party, helped his twin clean up. “Better do it now. Tomorrow it will be a true bother.” Was his reason, or something along those lines.

A clinking glass could be heard, calling for everyone’s attention and silence for an announcement.

“Thank you for accompanying me on such a special day! Your presence here is much appreciated, I say this with all sincerity in my heart.” Azul announces, bringing closure to the event. “Alas, the day must come to an end, and so does this party. It was wonderful to share moments with all of you as delectable food and refreshing drinks courtesy of Mostro Lounge chaperoned our evening and made this celebration ever nicer. Remember to dine with us if you desire to replicate the experience~!” A small laugh and smile dotted his words. Of course he had to plug his restaurant some way or another.

Ashengrotto cleared his throat. “But truthfully, I am grateful to have shared my birthday in your company. I hope everyone who attended had as much of a good time as I did. Please, enjoy these few last minutes of the party wholeheartedly! Thank you for your attendance!”

The crowd clapped and cheered, in a very civic and controlled way, much similar to the whole Octavinelle dormitory aura. Elegant people are quite peculiar, you must admit.

At the absence of the tweels, [Name] approached the dorm head ready to lend a hand any way they could. They became close to Azul in their time at NRC, the silver haired octomer welcoming them into his group workflow. Thus why the [hair color] orchestrated the preparations and organization for Azul’s birthday party, along with Jade and other Octavinelle students.

“Nice speech, Zuzul. Anything you need help with?” They asked, smiling sweetly and with a tinge of playfulness after using their nickname for the boy.

Azul sighed at said nickname, but decided to ignore it. “Thank you, [Name]. Can I trust you with bidding our esteemed guests farewell? I need to attend… some business in my office."

They nodded, "No problem, Azul. Leave it to me!" Off the [dorm] student went, taking on the role of host to kindly send off everyone as they left the building.

The dorm leader made his way to the VIP Room, closing the heavy door behind him with a sigh. He took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes, taking some time to let out a drawled out yawn.

"It truly is late, and all that food is making me terribly sleepy…" He stretched before replacing his glasses on his face and resuming his walk towards the dark desk. "But I must write a letter for Granny before going to bed, to ensure it will be sent away first thing in the morning."

As he sat down, Ashengrotto uncovered the leather notebook on the desk's surface, notebook in which many short-term contracts had been written and signed. Shaking his magical pen a couple of times, he took off the cap and allowed the ink to flow into the paper, in shape of words filled with gratitude and affection.

Being versed in the matters of public speaking and effectively convincing people, the octomer had no problems writing out his every thought in an eloquent manner.

Memories of his grandmother's loving embrace and wonderful bedtime stories aid him in portraying his admiration and care. She did send a beautiful rare coin to add to his collection for his birthday, and with it a lovely postcard with a heartfelt message.

A thank you in return, and an update on his school life were the things Azul wrote down on paper.

Minutes passed and all that was left was for him to sign his name on the last page of his extensive letter… but the sound of the clock ticking was so peaceful~♪

A sudden feeling of weightlessness as his head nodded forward snapped him out of a trance. Thankfully the pen did not splatter ink on the neat paper after his flinching.

However, as he tried to sign the written message, once more his head started nodding on-and-off, eyelids growing heavy and vision going blurry.

Yet again, his sharp senses stopped his hand from letting the ink pen touch his letter.

"Snap out of it, Azul, just sign the card and put it in the envelope." He pep talked himself. With some harsh blinking, scrunching his face up to achieve it, Azul chased the sleep away.

Swift movements of his wrist had the letter signed in no time. Delicate hands folded each page precisely yet hurriedly, he did not want to let sleep catch him before completing the task.

Soon enough, the envelope was sealed and a simple waterproof spell was casted on the entire card.

Another yawn ripped through the tired birthday boy, who allowed himself to slouch on his comfortable cushioned chair in order to relax after such a busy day.

He remained like so until his eyes began closing on their own again.

"I suppose… a couple minutes of sleep here wouldn't hurt…" Nodding to himself, Azul stood up and stretched his body. The birthday sash and ribbon neatly laying on top of his leather notebook and pen.

"It's been so long since I last did this. It feels… nice." A small smile came to his lips.

He sat down on one of the sofas in the room, enjoying the cool surface of the pleather with his hands before removing his shoes, letting them neatly rest on the foot of the couch. Then, he brought up his feet, pointing them to the same direction he placed his shoes. Slowly, he laid down on the plush seats to find a comfortable position to sleep in.

His grogginess was so much, however, that just laying face up on the sofa for some minutes allowed Ashengrotto to fall into a deep slumber.

~Meanwhile, outside of the VIP Room~

A pair of twins finished cleaning and rearranging tables and chairs back to the usual order Mostro Lounge keeps for the daily business.

And a host bid goodbye with a polite smile to the last person leaving the party.

"Whew, I think that is all~! Ah, what a lovely party it was!" [Name] cheered after their combined success.

Floyd agreed, "And all the food prepared was enjoyed thoroughly~ huuuh... but I'm tired now, I want to go sleep…" His smile turned to a bored expression.

Jade chuckled lowly. "I must concur with you this time, Floyd. It is late, we should all go back to our rooms to sleep."

"Mmmh~" The taller twin looked around, "Where's Tako-can?" His brows furrowed and a pout scrunched his lips.

"We cannot leave without him."

The other two also looked around the area in search of Azul. It was Jade who spoke first.

"My my, seems like we must search for him before going to bed." Floyd's loud grumble of protest was all that was heard.

Until [Name]'s lightbulb turned on above their head. "Ah, I think he must be in his office still! That's the last place he told me he would go, and I don't believe I saw him come out of there."

Suddenly, a dark, mischievous aura emanated from the twin eels as they shared a pointy toothed smile with each other.

"Is that so?" Jade asked.

"Hehe, let's go, Jade~!" Floyd began his trek towards the closed door.

The [ x ] year shivered, quickly running over to cut off their path.

"Azul looked very tired when he last spoke to me, it's highly probable he fell asleep in the room. These guys will definitely wake him up in a cruel way, better stop them!"

"Jade, Floyd! Ahaha..!" They tried to compose their nervous self, "H-How about you go ahead to your bedroom? I-I'll take care of Azul here..~!" A trembling closed eyes smile on their face as an attempt to deter their advances.

"Eh~? Are you sure? A small fry like you surely can't drag Azul out of there, when he becomes absorbed in work…" Floyd crossed his arms.

Jade brought his right hand to his chin in a pensive manner, teasing smirk still on his features. "Indeed, allow us to help."

"No no no! It's fine, don't worry!" The [color] haired one said, hands promoting the brothers to turn around and begin walking towards the exit. "So please, by all means! You must be tired after carrying out most of the preparations! Allow me to take care of this little task, it won't take long."

Tweels shared one last look.

"Fi~ne…" Floyd slouched forward a little, going ahead towards the door quite pissed.

"Very well, [Name], I shall entrust Azul to you. Have a nice night, sweet dreams." With Jade's last words, the tall merboys left the establishment.

"Goodnight to you two." [Surname] said before the door closed.

A sigh of relief left their lips. "Okay, let's go with Azul now."

They knocked lightly on the thick wooden door, but no response followed. They tried three more times before deciding to go in, regardless.

"Azul? Are you alright? I was getting-" Their words were cut off by the view in front of them. "Oh, how adorable!"

Curled up on one of the VIP Room's couches, Azul laid asleep. One could hear soft grumbles and airy sighs as a dream played in his unconsciousness.

The [color] haired circled the sofa, taking in their classmate's sleeping face.

"It will do no good for him to sleep with those glasses on." A couple of deep breaths were taken before their hands moved over to ever so gently remove Azul's spectacles off. They had to stop and step back a few times when the boy scrunched up his face or grumbled in his sleep, afraid of being caught watching him in such vulnerable state if he were to wake up.

"Perfect, there we go." The seeing aid was folded neatly and placed besides the sash and ribbon on the dark wood desk. "Now, where do they keep the blankets here? I remember they lent me one when dining in the Lounge once… They should be here, this room is the coldest." They pondered. [Color] eyes examined the room until they landed on a piece of furniture with drawers big enough to host sizable objects. “This might be it.”

The [ x ] year made their way to one of the drawers and sure enough, there was a fluffy blanket there.

Imagine this...

There is a knock at his office door.

“Come in,” Crowley calls.

The door slams open with a resounding thud, shaking the entire room.

“E-Eeep!” Crowley leaps up from his seat, his feathers ruffled. He sighs when he gets a clear view of his guests. “Oh. It’s just you hooliga--er, I mean. You three, from Octavinelle.”

“Good evening, headmaster. I trust you are well?” The leader of the trio, Azul, offers a warm smile. Behind him, the Leeches exchange knowing grins.

But Crowley is not fooled. Why, he has already been duped before by those very same smiles...! The old crow has since wised up--or, at the very least, he hopes he has since wised up.

“Truthfully, I would be better if you hadn’t made your entrance with such a racket,” Crowley grumbles. “What do you need at this hour, Ashengrotto-kun?”

Azul feigns shock, his mouth hanging slightly ajar. He brings a hand to his heart. “Why, headmaster! We’ve simply dropped by to ask a favor of you--since you are so very, very kind, after all!”

“I am so very, very kind,” Crowley insists under his breath. “If you must make a demand, make it quick. I have important matters to attend to!”

“Of course. I do apologize if our intrusion has caused you any distress. As a businessman, I know how just how difficult it can be to focus on making a transaction if one feels less than stellar.”

He nods at the Leeches.

“Jade. Floyd. Help our dear old headmaster feel more...comfortable.”

“As you wish.”

“Ohhh-kaaaay~”

The brothers descend, slinking to either side of Crowley’s desk--trapping him between them. Floyd leans down and smiles. Jade, on the other hand, is as rigid as a statue.

“W-What is the meaning of this?!” Crowley demands.

Azul ignores him, instead pulling up a chair and planting himself down across from Crowley. He crosses his legs, laces his fingers, and leans forward.

“Let’s talk.”

“Whatever it is you’re after...you will not get it from me!” Crowley sputters. “You...You cannot hope to bully your way into obtaining what you so selfishly desire!”

“Ah, but you see, there is nothing selfish about my desire at all--we simply wish for the Ramshackle dorm’s prefect to be given a vacation. That is a reasonable request, yes?”

“And why would strong-arming me do to help your case?!”

“Why, headmaster...I believe it was you that neglected to answer Yuu-san’s distress call from Scarabia.” Azul purrs, his words laced with honeyed poison. “You allowed one of your students to be kidnapped and held hostage--and yet another Overblot incident to occur, all while you were off gallivanting on the beaches. That’s not very responsible of you, now is it?”

Crowley pales.

“You hold the highest authority at this school. It is easily within your power to give Yuu-san a well-deserved break.” Azul pushes his glasses up. “Especially considering all the trouble they have gone through to support the school. Including Jamil-san, this would make it the fourth...no, the fifth Overblot incident they have had to resolve, on top of maintaining their grades and whatever other odd jobs you unload onto them.”

“W-Well...that is their job as--”

“Oi,” Floyd pipes up, slamming a hand on Crowley’s desk. He peers into the headmaster’s eyes and gives a toothy grin. “No talking when Azul’s makin’ his demands~”

“Floyd, you’re being rude,” Jade sighs. “You must be more gentle, like so.” He puts a hand on Crowley’s shoulder and squeezes with such force that the headmaster winces. “Please, do listen carefully to our dear Azul.”

“Y-Yes! I am listening! O-Ohohoho...I am such a good listener!”

“As expected of the esteemed headmaster of Night Raven College,” Azul coos. “Now then...as you can imagine, Yuu-san has been very overworked as of late. Keeping up with their duties has take quite a toll on them--so much so that they collapsed in the Mostro Lounge. You are fortunate that we were there to ensure they were taken to safety and well taken care of.”

“Ehehehe~ I carried Koebi-chan all the way home!” Floyd adds. “And Jade made some of that leaf water stuff for them!”

“It is called tea, Floyd.”

“Eeeeeh? But it’s basically leaf water, right?”

“As I was saying,” Azul interjects, “we three have made quite the concerted effort to look after the wellbeing of your precious handyman. I believe you should, at the very least, reward us by fulfilling our wish: granting Yuu-san time off. You can do that for us, yes?”

His words are not a suggestion; they are an order.

“How much time are you requesting?” Crowley asks slowly. “While I understand that Yuu-san may need a break, there are many important tasks that--”

“You can perform those yourself.” Azul states plainly. “Give Yuu-san as much time as they need to relax.”

“That’s absurd! I...I do not need to stand by and take this!”

“Headmaster, perhaps you did not hear me the first time,” Azul warns, his eyes flashing dangerously. “You had better do as we say, or...” he gestures to Jade.

The eel fishes a phone out of his pocket. With the press of a button, a video begins blasting.

“...Evil Scheme Unfolding in a Certain Magic Academy will be handed over to the press,” Azul declares smugly. “It has only been broadcasted to a handful of students so far...so I’m sure that the press will have a field day with the stories.”

Crowley’s eyes boggle, nearly popping out of his skull. “You...You would not dare...!!”

“Imagine what would happen! Your reputation--as well as that of the college--will be unsalvageable.” Azul sighs dramatically, putting the back of his hand on his forehead. “The Al-Asim family will pull all their funding and donations! Royal Sword Academy will laugh at you...!”

“Okay, okay! You’ve made your point, loud and clear!” Crowley cries, throwing his hands up. “You...You boys win...! Yuu-san is free from their duties indefinitely--just do not share that video with the media!”

“I’m glad that you’re finally starting to see things our way.” Azul stands up from his seat and adjusts his jacket. “It was a pleasure doing business with you.”

Azul, Jade and Floyd's teaching their male s/o who is a representative of their species about merfolk life and vice versa

When you first told him that you were also the same species as him, his mouth was agape. He wasn't prepared for the second shock that you also never had an experience of living at the coral sea, which is supposed to be your homeland. Does he wonder if that's the case then what happened in your life that caused you to stay on land? Did your parents have an interspecies relationship and they decided to stay on land? Did something happen to your parents and they forced you all to stay on land for safety? Are your at least biological parents even alive? He has so many questions but he doubts that he has that many answers. For now, he'll let those questions spit out of his mouth for another day.

When you voiced out your curiosity about sea life, an idea immediately came to his mind. He scooted super close to you and excitedly tried to initiate a contract with you. The deal wasn't obnoxious or anything ridiculous at all so you don't have any problems with accepting it. Plus, why would he even hurt his boyfriend just to gain something? He's not a sociopath. You two discussed and scheduled the date of what you called "Coral Sea school trip". Don't worry, he also thinks that this is very unnecessary as well but he doesn't want to take the risk of the twins ruining the moment or anyone from the school seeing his true form.

His eyes shined when you turned into your octopus form, you're very beautiful, more beautiful than he could ever be he thought to himself silently. As it was your first time going in on water in your supposedly real form, you will be slower and clumsy, so he holds your hand to prevent anything bad from happening. This little activity went smoothly. He teaches what it's like to be a very rare species in the sea and the more he speaks, the more he envied you as you didn't need to face the potentially horrible life you could've gone through. He teaches the baby steps and anything that doesn't make much noise as he does not want to attract attention. 

When it's time you have to teach him more about human life, he's very invested. Especially if you talk about anything business-related. You also make your lessons slow since he deserves it, he did go slow on you during the Coral Sea school trip. He would ask so many questions, you might just get tired from all of it. He might even ask more questions after that day. Before you know it, he's scheduling another Coral Sea tour, he's planning to teach you how to hunt and he's expecting you to teach him more about business topics even if you don't own one.

"Oya, is that so?" My, oh my. Isn't that interesting. Day by day, you always manage to captivate Jade with your unpredictability and your sudden bomb drops of news. He's a very curious man so he'll ask you many questions like how did you find out your real form? Did your parents decide that they will live on land for reasons or did you run away from them at such a young age you completely forgot about life at the Coral Sea? If that's the case, then that's hilarious. He'll be telling you facts and how his life was back in his hometown, telling you how different it was here when it comes to getting food, the food chain, the little ways to survive there. Now that you thought about it, it kinda makes sense now as to why they're so smart and unpredictable as they're born and living in a rather unpredictable and dangerous environment in general.

The more he talked about life at the Coral Sea, the more you got fascinated. He could see your beautiful eyes sparkling and that made his eyes narrow, he was pleased with this reaction. He asked if you were interested in maybe visiting there and seeing what's there to offer? Maybe you could teach him too about human life if you want. He says if you want but it's a must in this or else..he will just be upset. He's also curious about the land life as well to the point he made a club about exploring the wilderness and collecting mushrooms. You said yes and he's very delighted to hear that. You both will visit the place together when you two have a lot of leisure time. So when you two do finally have free time, he called you right away to come to the wall of mirrors.

Surprise, surprise, he's already there, neat looking and everything as always. Since he knows that you will have struggles to swim as fast as his pace so he gently holds your hand as he leads you to the mirror. When you changed your form, you looked mesmerizing. His eyes were wide for a few seconds before going back to his soft smile, complimenting your eel form as you told him to stop the teasing. He's put a lot of lessons in one day but of course, he would be gentle because he has common sense and he doesn't want to harm you in any way. He had a thought to make you meet his parents but scrapped it as it might be too much for your first day. He takes you to historic buildings and then to the "city". While the place does feel intimidating, you felt a bit safer as Jade's with you. 

When it's time for the human life lessons, he has more questions than Azul as his questions are in so many categories but most of them are questions related to nature. You two decided to place this little private event in club time. You two hiked as you answered his little questions, it was amusing as he sounded like a five years old child. He would pick up an item he has never seen before and asked what it is if you know. As he also studied a lot about human life already before meeting you, he might accidentally educate you too in the meantime, he chuckled if he does to mock you in a lovingly matter. If you haven't joined his club, he advises you to do so as he hopes for more of these life lessons.  

Floyd gives a very loud "hm?" To your confession. You've never lived in the ocean before? That's weird, especially when you're the same species as him. He wouldn't ask that many questions, not like he has many questions in his mind in the first place. His very first question would be just "Why and then that's pretty much it, he'll go back to the conversation you two were having. It's not like he's disinterested, it's pretty interesting it's just that whatever you guys talk is more important even if it's just a talk about parkour or whatever. It seems that you need to initiate the conversation about his life at the Coral Sea and he's rather delighted that you're interested in whatever he's going back then so he goes on a full story from his family to how they met Azul in detail.

You don't know how happy he is when you're fully focused on his words. Other people usually would stare into the clouds or directly tell him to stop talking so his mood is suddenly more bright than it already is. You kept asking questions about the difference between land and sea life, his opinions and such he proposed an idea, why not find out together by going to the sea? You were excited and made the mistake of saying "I cannot wait" because..he also cannot wait! He's in a good mood right now, why not just go there? Who cares about his job!? He's not in the mood for that but in the mood to go back to his hometown so let's do just that!! Besides, you don't want it postponed because of his foul mood, don't you?

Your eel form makes him very happy. He's circling you like some sort of cult ritual to check you out. He's hugging you, jolly, and surprised that his species are very squishy. Unfortunately, you are dating Floyd so you should be expecting that he doesn't go gentle or do these baby steps. He would go immediately to his unique ways of hunting for food, the extreme sports he has an interest in, and anything that's just risky in general. He will whine when you're slower than him or can't keep up with these intense lessons but of course, will give in to your complaints because he doubts he can do anything about your weaker stamina. Yet.

When it comes to human life lessons, he will always say irritating things like "I already know this" or "this isn't interesting" so be careful in what topics you will bring up. The subjects that usually perk up his ears are sports-related things or anything that requires a lot of physical activity. Fashion also gets his head up, especially about shoes. He will ask a multitude of questions about the things mentioned above because you know, it piques his interest. Maybe some human version of pranks so he can do it to his unfortunate victims, mostly Riddle. If you manage to interest him for the entire time, he might want to do this again but maybe more sea lesson times than land?

Floyd and Jade?

Floyd’s another all time favorite in TW for me.  And one whom I’d absolutely love to see devour anyone.  He adores squeezing and hugging people like teddy bears.  And there’s truly no greater squeeze than wolfing someone down and squeezing them in his fishy belly.

Floyd’s one of the few TW characters I can see working for same-size vore as well as macro, since his true form is an eel-man who are canonical preds and can stretch out their jaws.  Floyd’s the type who would giggle and groan as he wolfs his prey down, shoving them feet first and nomming and gently nibbling with his fangs to get a real taste for his prey. 

And once they’re in his belly, Floyd would groan breathlessly, panting heavily as his massive, pale gut rises and falls with his labored breathe...before he hugs his belly and lurches forward with a THUNDEROUS belch.  When that ends, he’d groan about how stuffed he is, giving his belly some resounding slaps and working loose another titanic burp that leaves him moaning with relief and letting his drooling tongue hang out of his fang-filled maw. 

Of all the preds in TW, Floyd’s the one who would be the most “into” being a pred.  He’d love having prey in his belly, both the feeling of being so full AND the feeling of his stomach constricting against another living creature, whom he can hug and squeeze away.  The feeling of squeezing both his prey AND his belly at the same time is a double-whammy that cannot be beaten for Floyd.  :P

Jade is a very proper and cunning sort of fiend, but I think he’s someone who would RELISH being a pred.  He’d very properly hold his prey up, look them over and give them this calming sense of false security.  Then, he would delicately open his fang-filled maw, run his tongue across their face and smile just a little bit wider at their flavor, before oh so gently hoisting his prey in the air and slowly easing them into his mouth.

He wouldn’t be ravenous about it the way his brother is.  Jade would take his time, very slowly lapping his tongue all across his prey’s body and humming pleasantly to himself.  Then, he’d dip his head back and swallow heartily, delicately resting his gloved finger against his throat and feeling his prey slide down his gullet and vanish into his stomach.

Once they’re inside, Jade would huff mildly to himself and mute a burp under his hand, excusing himself right after even if he held it in.  Then, he would relax and unbutton his shirt then remove his gloves so he can feel his prey directly as he slowly rubs his bare belly in a satisfied manner, talking about how delicious his prey was and how eager he is to “do this again” sometime, periodically easing some muted burps out from behind his free hand.

Whereas Floyd loves the feeling of squeezing his prey and his belly, Jade loves the satisfaction of holding his prey’s life in his hands.  It’s almost like a power trip for him, but also indulges his own inherently predatory nature, since, just like Floyd, he IS an eel-man in a very handsome disguise...

Lively.

That is what one would describe the lounge as. Lively.

There was a singer on stage, singing ever hypnotically. They had captured most of the customer’s attention, drawing them in with their voice.

I'm gonna wear blue

And find a pair of flat black leather shoes

But shine more than a diamond, mine could do

And add something new

Engel took an order from a table, their footsteps unheard as they yelled out the order to those preparing it. In a matter of minutes, the drinks came out, Engel quickly swiped the drinks, already walking back to the table.

They set down the drinks to the Savanaclaw students, who only glanced at the drinks in acknowledgement.

To another table they go.

I drop a hint and then my keys

And then I cast a net

To catch someone who's even searchin, night he won't forget

The night continued on like that, taking orders and serving them. Many more people came in by the sheer number, enraptured by the voice that sang.

Engel was one of the few waiters out there- the other being Octanivelle students, who were inherently less affected by the voice. After all, a siren cannot enchant a fellow mer like they do with non-mer.

Engel stole a glance at the singer- their beloved Yuu. It was near the end of the song, and Engel knew that as soon as Yuu would finish their song, there would be an influx of orders for a proper meal.

Gonna drop the yellow pages

Finally then she had a thrill

To dress me up and make me look like someone else instead

It's time for my rehearsal, the ultimate reversal

With the last of the notes of the song, there was an audible increase of chatter, customers talking amongst themselves. Engel didn’t bother to listen to the chatter. They had to focus on their job, otherwise they knew they would make a mistake should they listen in on the gossip.

“How’s the night going, Engel?”

The question broke Engel’s concentration, as they turned to the owner of the new voice. It was Jade, who was manning the counter- it looked like everyone had a drink or a meal, so the vice dorm-head had free time, it seemed.

“Oh! Everything is going well, Jade,” Engel enthusiastically replied, as they gathered another batch of orders, “Is Yuu taking a break right now?”

“Yes,” Jade smiled, “Although, if you wish to catch them before the next song, I suggest you do so in the next few minutes. They have another song coming up, though I suppose you know that already.”

“I see, thanks for the heads up! I’ll see you in a bit, Jade!” Engel nodded as a means of farewell, their hands occupied. They left just as Jade their own farewell, their feet quick to take them to their destination.

After setting down the plates to a group of Scarabia students, Engel then speedily walked to the employee break room. Upon opening the door, Engel squealed in delight, running up to an exhausted Yuu, who readily accepted the unexpected hug.

“Well, hello to you too, my love,” Yuu chuckled, “Careful with the suit. I don’t want your efforts going to waste, aight?”

“Ahhhhh, Yuu!” Engel only squeezed them tighter, “You did wonderfully! You never cease to amaze me with your voice!”

“Thanks?”

“It’s a compliment, silly goose!”

Engel released Yuu from their suffocating hug, eyeing Yuu up and down. They wore a suit- one that Engel had created with their own two hands. It was a tux, but with extended tails (the rear end of the fabric, from what Engel had learned). It suited Yuu well, giving them a slightly more feminine appearance with how long and ruffled the tails were.

“Ah, your makeup is a bit smudged,” Engel noticed. “Let me get the kit Vil gave us…” Engel left Yuu’s side for a moment, retrieving the item, then returning. Utilizing what they had learned from Vil, Engel managed to fix up Yuu’s make up. It was put on in a way that it made Yuu’s face look more masucline than usual. It was enough that no one would recognize Yuu bare-face, allowing them to evade others from recognizing them as the hypnotic voice from the Mostro lounge.

“Thanks, love,” Yuu quietly replied.

“Anything for you, my dear.”

An alarm rang out, disrupting whatever moment Engel and Yuu had. Yuu gave an apologetic look to Engel, who, in turn, only shook their head. Engel pulled Yuu up from their chair, and led them to the door. Before opening the door, Engel raised Yuu’s hand and kissed it softly, watching Yuu’s face become flushed from the small action.

“Good luck!” Engel teased, as they opened the door and left, leaving Yuu a moment to their thoughts. Yuu shook their head after fully processing it, and then left the silence of the room, entering the lounge.

It was time for another performance.

It was quiet.

No one would have thought that this was the same lively lounge from a few hours prior. It was empty, save for a few souls that needed to stay behind, and clean. Azul sat at one of the booths, Engel and Yuu in front of him, Jade standing at the end of the table. Unseen, Floyd was elsewhere, the sound of food sizzling distantly heard.

“Thanks to Yuu’s performance, we earned the same amount of profit as last week.” Azul looked over the papers, quick to do the math of how much was earned. He was evidently pleased with the turn of events- a smile staining his beautiful face.

“That’s great,” Engel softly replied. Yuu quietly sat next to them, unable to speak. The performance had left Yuu drained of all energy. It took too much energy to even speak.

“The number of people asking about Yuu increased,” Jade casually commented. Engel raised a brow, slinging an arm around Yuu.

“Is that so?”

Jade noticed the interaction, and chuckled, “Fufu, worry not, I do not believe they were asking for malicious reasons, Engel.”

“If you say so,” Engel happily chirped, though there was an edge to their words. Azul briefly glanced at them, but didn’t comment on it.

A slam grabbed their attention, as everyone turned to look at the source of the noise. In very typical fashion, it was Floyd- who kicked the door open, a large plate of some sort of pasta in his grasp.

The eel mer sauntered over, placing the large plate right besides the papers.

“Floyd, careful with that.” Azul moved his papers, scooting over to the end of the table and moving the papers, so that they wouldn’t be any stains. Jade took a seat, as did his brother, although Floyd sat next to Engel.

“So,” Floyd began, giving some utensils to his brother- who graciously took them without a second thought. “How long will the contract with Shachi-chan and Selkie-chan last?”

Yuu didn’t say a word.

“Hmm,” Engel pondered, “I think it’s for life?” They had signed the contract, although they had forgotten most of the details already- it’s been about a month or so since they did.

“Correct. It’s for life,” Azul paused his reading, “Yuu will be under my employment until retirement, since I’ll be providing them a means to live once they graduate from here.”

“Oh?” Floyd smiled as he took another bite of his meal. Engel eyed the plate- it was large. And the twins already ate a good small portion of it.

“What about when we’re fourth years, and the year after?” Jade questioned, wiping his mouth. It was a valid question, considering the fact that fourth years would have to leave the school on internships, then there was the fact that Engel and Yuu were technically a grade below them.

“Who do you take me for, Jade?” Azul grinned, propping his arms onto the table, “I have a plan to ensure that the business continues when we’re in our fourth year. After Engel and Yuu have finished their fourth years, I’ll make sure that they’ll live comfortably down in the deep blue sea.”

“Really?” Engel’s eyes sparkled with hope, “Thank you!”

“No, no need. I have to thank you,” Azul corrected, “The two of you brought in more profit than I would have by myself. Truly, Yuu’s voice is astounding- it’s quite the good thing that their voice is almost useless against mer. And you Engel, you brought in a few customers yourself, if a bit fewer than Yuu had brought in. Don’t think I haven’t noticed.”

Yuu glared at Azul, but they remained silent. Engel wondered how they brought in customers, but they had a suspicion it had to do with the fact they were a selkie- Engel didn’t quite like the implication of it, but they too, remained silent.

Azul continued, “With the profits, it’s more than enough to pay for your living expenses, now and in the future.”

“Oh? So Shachi-chan and Selkie-chan are gonna stay with us forever?~” Floyd appeared to brighten up at the idea, turning to look at Engel.

“It does seem that way, fufu.” Jade smiled. Engel felt unease by it, although they couldn’t pinpoint as to why.

“Nonetheless, we’re doing well, financially.” Azul sighed, picking up the papers and organizing them into a folder. He glanced at the clock on the distant wall, “We should finish this up and head to bed.”

With that, they cleared the table.

Ramshackle dorm was quiet, not a sound heard, save for the subtle footsteps. Engel and Yuu made their way up to their dorm room that they shared. Engel clutched onto their pelt, which was large enough for Engel and Yuu to fit inside as they had came from the Octanivelle dorm in the cold.

Engel never had their pelt more than 20 feet away from them.

They entered their room- spotting a snoring Grim on the bed. On performance days, Grim was left alone to his own devices. The two mer quickly shifted out of their work clothing, donning comfortable clothing. They gently moved Grim, laying themselves down. They faced one another, Engel’s pelt laid over them, with Grin right at top.

“Today was nice.”

“Yea. It was.” Yuu lazily smiled, their eyes droopy.

“Sleep well, my darling.”

“G’night, love.”

Yuu quickly fell asleep, but Engel didn’t. Sure, they were tired, but they remained up to look at Yuu’s sleeping facial features.

They recalled the time when Yuu was introduced to them, after their mother was taken away. They recalled when Yuu had become their friend, and consequently, their beloved. They recalled the painful moment when Yuu was taken by the carriage after the two of them were drawn into the forest. They recalled how they searched for Yuu for months. They recalled when they, too, were finally brought to this world, better than the old, and thus reuniting with their beloved. They recalled Yuu’s first performance, and many more moments.

It was hard, no doubt. It was one plight after another, but they stood together through it all, even when they were separated for a good amount of time. Engel touched their bracelet- its warmth brought a smile to their face.

Sure, they’re practically bound to Azul via contract for the rest of their lives, but that didn’t matter. They no longer resided in the old, barbaric world. No longer did Engel have to fear the worst, and no longer did they have to worry.

After all, didn’t they promise to stay together, even through hell itself?

Engel fell asleep with that last thought on their mind.

it should have been a simple stroll on the beach, to watch the waves in solitude while he would gaze at the sea and watch how small waves would crash against the shore. he wanted to get up and wander around the shoreline. feel the cool ocean touch against his skin again, but before any of that happened, he had heard a voice behind him. scarabia’s vice dorm leader had noticed his absence and went out to look for him. if he did not know any better, he might say that the vice dorm leader had gone soft for him; though they both knew better. 

they remained there for a little while, enjoyed the scenery and occasionally spoke up when a thought crossed their mind. 

yet they had not remained there for long when the bright light and noise coming from the pier had caught both their attention.   ❝     don’t tell me you haven’t been to one before .     ❞   even he had been to one, albeit unwillingly as he was dragged by a certain enthusiastic eel.  though now that he thinks about it, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to believe the other hasn’t been to one before. at least not in a setting like these. kalim’s life could be at risk. if they wanted a carnival, they likely would have brought one to the palace. 

there had been so many first times that both of them had forgotten about the time. painkillers had worn off and azul could feel the dull ache being replaced by a constant pain. it was time to go again.

the summer has arrived in the city and though the weather has been kind to them, the cool night breeze still made many shiver slightly. in the corner of the dorm leader’s eyes, he noticed that jamil had done the same. in comparison to the scarabia dormitory, the summers in this city are a lot colder. it doesn’t take long before azul takes off his jacket again and places it on jamil’s shoulders, just like he had done before when they were at the museum. 

perhaps the suspicious look jamil gives him was warranted for it is so unlike azul to be so considerate  —  without gaining something for it in return.     ❝     i cannot have you catch a cold and infect the rest of the staff .     ❞   azul merely responds with a slight shrug of his shoulders. yet jamil still refuses to believe him.

    ❝     i could hardly call in a favor for simply letting someone borrow my jacket .     ❞   but perhaps he should start doing so, after all, there is one important detail he has forgotten to mention.   ❝     though do be careful with that ,  that jacket is rather expensive .     ❞   no doubt jamil would regret having given his curiosity a voice by asking how much a jacket like that could cost.  ❝    one thousand madol .     ❞   laughter briefly spills from the mermaid’s lips upon seeing the splutter in response when hearing how much he actually paid for it.  ❝     i’m kidding it’s actually not one thousand .     ❞   it seems to calm the vice dorm leader a bit more. his hand from his mouth, which he had previously used to muffle his laughter a bit, is now removed as he tilts his head a bit to the side and looks at his companion.  ❝     it was actually three thousand.     ❞   

however, before jamil can give the jacket back to him azul stops him, shaking his head.    ❝     just give it back to me when we get home .     ❞   

unless it was jade and floyd, azul had never been a type to share. greed manifested already at an early age; not because he needed it ( though it definitely made his life easier ) but because he wanted it to show off his accomplishments. never did he think he would share something like this without wishing for something in return but. gazing at jamil in the corner of his eyes and seeing him wear his jacket, well, maybe the dorm leader could get used to this.
