final chapter of the great war:)
ona x reader? alessia x reader? who knows.
"Less?" You asked, dumbfounded.
"Hi." She responded, looking so unsure, so broken that you weren't quite sure what to do. All you knew was that you couldn't stand it when Alessia looked like that, no matter what had happened. Your brain was going a mile a minute, trying to figure out why Alessia was at your front door.
"Alessia... what are you doing here?"
"I- I really need to talk to you lov- y/n." Less flinched at the slip up, hoping you'd missed it. You hadn't. You felt like you were being torn in two- the part of you that loved Alessia, that would probably always love her, wanted to hear her out. The other part, the hurt part, was screaming at you to slam the door in her face. You'd always been weak when it came to her; you should have told her to go home. That would have probably been the healthy choice.
Someone cleared their throat behind you. It sounded like Mapi, but you remembered exactly who was sitting in your living room. Ona. Until this very moment, you could have sworn you were over Alessia, truly. Now, though, you stood in the doorway, physically stuck in between two people that you were suddenly sure you loved.
You forced yourself to turn, to look into Ona's warm eyes. They were blinking at you, terrified. The second you looked at Ona, it was clear what you needed to do. There wasn't a choice. How could there be?
"Let me get my keys. We can go for a drive." You said, turning back to the blonde. Relief washed over her face, and she nodded. "Just give me a sec?"
You unlocked the car, and Less headed over to it, as you briefly shut the door, turning back to the room full of your completely stunned friends. Ona was sitting on the couch next to Alexia, who was staring at you like she might hit you. Mapi's face looked similar, and you wished that this was not happening in front of them.
You walked to Ona, briskly, leaning down and grabbing her face in between your hands. She looked startled, but you pressed your lips to hers, intending to leave her with no doubt in her mind of what you were leaving to do. You only pulled back slightly when you broke the kiss, looking intently into her eyes.
"I'll be right back, okay?"
'Okay," she responded breathlessly. Mapi wolf whistled as you walked back towards the front door, and you paused just long enough to flip her off. You weren't quite sure what to expect walking opening the door and sliding into the drivers seat. Alessia didn't look like herself, and you could see her hands shaking in her lap. Starting the car, you turned to her, giving her a reassuring smile.
"It's just me, Less. Relax." With that, you pulled back out of the parking space, driving off into the foggy night air.
-----
You decided to let Alessia talk first; there was clearly a lot on her mind. So, even as the silence killed you, you allowed it to fill the car. It was suffocating, and you only felt relief when you pulled the car into a spot by the beach, overlooking the ocean.
"I'm so, so sorry." Alessia started. Her voice was already choked up, and she wiped roughly at her eyes. "Fuck, I said I wasn't going to cry."
Wordlessly, you handed her a tissue from the center console. She tried her eyes, taking a shuddery breath, before turning back to you.
"I can't express how sorry I am for what I did. There is no excuse, y/n. I know that. I just... I think you deserve an explanation. If you want one." The blonde looked at you hopefully. You nodded for her to proceed.
"I wasn't doing well. Moving to Arsenal, to London was so much harder than I expected. It's incredible and I love the team and the girls, it was just... change. And it was really hard. I was having a really hard time. Especially coming back from losing the world cup final, I was really just a complete mess. And you were here, in Barcelona, and you seemed like you were doing well. Really well, honestly. I didn't want to bother you with my problems. I should have just talked to you, but I didn't."
Alessia took a sip of water, her hands still shaking as she held the bottle. You'd never seen her look so nervous before.
"I missed you. I missed being with you and getting to spend those months together in Australia got me so used to just having you nearby. And then you weren't, and I was so lonely. I know that I could have called you, I know. Instead, I got really drunk. And went home with this random girl. I don't know why I did it, y/n. I just- I remember feeling so empty, so completely alone. I asked her to come back with me. I think about that sentence leaving my mouth every day, and I wish I could take it back."
Alessia is crying now, tears falling freely down her face. You're crying to, but not for the reason Alessia thinks. Seeing her in such pain, even now, felt like getting stabbed.
"I woke up the next morning, and I was so completely horrified with myself. I couldn't believe what I'd done. It wasn't fair of me. You are so good, y/n, you were always so good to me. Even now, when I have no right to ask you to listen, you listen anyway, and you hand me tissues, and I just. I never deserved you. And you deserved better than what I gave you. I'll be sorry for the rest of my life."
You watched her cry into her hands for a minute, and searched within yourself for the hurt that had lodged itself directly in your heart when Alessia had told you what she'd done, all those months ago. You couldn't find it. It was gone, you realized. Replaced with the feeling of falling in love. It was like snow melting, flower buds sprouting from the ground; the emergence of spring from winter. You knew you'd survived the worst of it, and you felt peace. Hope.
"I forgive you, Alessia." You said the words quietly, resting a hand on her shoulder. Her head snapped up to stare at you, eyes red and puffy, mouth gaping open.
"What?" She asked incredulously.
"I forgive you. I know you. I know your heart. You're a good person." Alessia shook her head at this, looking miserable. "No, Less, you are a good person. One mistake doesn't change that. What you did... obviously it really hurt me. I knew that you wouldn't ever do what you did if you weren't really in a dark place. The past months I've been hurt, and angry, yes. I'm not anymore. All I feel now- I just want you to be okay."
"How can you say that I'm a good person?" Alessia asked, her voice cracking over the last word.
"Because you are. I forgive you, Alessia. You need to forgive yourself."
"I don't know if I can."
"Look what you did today. You came here, flew to Barcelona on your one weekend off, to apologize to me. That is something that a bad person wouldn't bother with. The feeling of guilt inside of you, Less, that's what makes you good. And I'm sure it's suffocating. You don't need to hold it over yourself anymore. I'm okay, Less. You don't need to feel guilty anymore."
At this, Alessia broke completely, caving in on herself as sobs racked her body. You leaned across the center console, pulling her into you as best you could. She cried for a while, letting out sounds that sounded like she was breaking. You knew this was healing, though. Sometimes, you need to fall apart all the way, or you'll never get put back together correctly.
After a couple minutes, she pulled away, wiping at her face once again. Her touch was more gentle, though. You hoped it was an unconscious sign that she was forgiving herself. The blonde turned to look at you. Her blue eyes were watery, her blonde hair slighly mussed from where it had been pressed against your sweatshirt. She looked beautiful, something you knew objectively.
Looking into her eyes, you didn't feel anything romantic for her. The urge to kiss her, to wipe her tears gently off her face, to cradle her in your arms, wasn't there. You loved her, but not in the way you had before. You wanted Alessia to heal, to stay your friend. At that moment, though, all you wanted to was to go home to Ona. Your Ona.
"Do you think, if I hadn't done what I did, we could have lasted?"
"No." You said gently, despite the harshness of your answer. "I don't think we were meant to be, Less. We weren't working before you slept with her." You noticed the way she slumped at that, just a little, and you knew that her motivations for coming to Spain weren't completely innocent.
"You're going to find someone who makes you feel like you're on fire, Alessia. Like your whole being is just completely filled with love for them. You'll know when you do. And you'll deserve all of the love they'll give you."
"You sound like you know what you're talking about." She commented, smiling softly at you in the way she always did when she joked. It was a relief, to see her look happy.
"I do." You told her, a matching grin tugging at your lips.
"Ona?" She asked, taking you by surprise.
"How did you know?" You questioned, eyebrows raising comically high on your forehead.
"They streamed your match on the plane and I watched you turn into the Hulk when that girl touched her. I didn't know if you were together, but I figured you would be, at some point." Alessia admitted.
"I'm sorry, Less. I know that isn't what you wanted to hear."
Alessia shook her head. "No, you're right. We weren't working. We wouldn't have worked. It was comfortable, and safe, but it wouldn't have worked. I had to try, though."
Alessia paused, eyes searching yours. "Ona is good for you. A good match. She's always kind. She'll remind you to be kind to yourself. You forget, sometimes."
"Thank you, Lessi."
You exchanged smiles, then, the first that were completely unweighted, completely genuine. You were glad Alessia had come, that you could have this conversation with her. Your body longed for Ona, though, your arms desperate to wrap her in a hug, squash any lingering anxiety she was feeling.
-----
You pulled back into your driveway, alone. You'd dropped Alessia at Keira and Lucy's instructing her to rest there, before flying back to London. You knew they'd take good care of her, and you had other priorities. You noticed as you walked into the house, that Alexia's car was gone, which was odd.
You continued on, slipping in through the door, sliding your shoes off, and turning to the living room. Only Ingrid and Mapi sat in there; Mapi with an expression of extreme guilt on her face. Ona was gone, as was Alexia.
"Where is she?" You asked frantically, eyes searching the room like you were going to find your girlfriend hidden behind a couch cushion.
"She left. A little after you did. I don't really know, she just asked Alexia to take her home, and we tried to talk to her, but she just kept saying she wanted to go home."
"Why, why didn't you stop her?"
"We tried, but..."
"But what, León?" You shouted. Ingrid looked between the two of you nervously, but stayed silent.
"I- I asked Ona if she thought you were going to get back together with Alessia. I guess, after you kissed her, she wasn't nervous, but then I asked, and she realized it could have been a goodbye kiss or something, and she just freaked out."
You stood frozen, body trembling with anger. Mapi stood, moving closer to you. "Amiga, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to-" she began.
You lurched forward, hands connected with her chest as you shoved her backwards. She simply let you, not raising a single hand in her own defense. Ingrid stood from the couch, moving to get in between the two of you, but Mapi shook her head at her girlfriend.
"Mapi what the fuck? Why would you say that to her?" You were yelling now, right in your teammate's face. She looked distraught; you knew how much she cared for you, and for Ona. She was probably just trying to prepare her, be a good friend. You didn't care about any of that now. You shoved her once more, ignoring Ingrid's hand on your shoulder, trying to pull you away from her girlfriend.
You whipped around, charging towards the door, but Ingrid was faster, ripping your keys out of your hand. You rounded on her, but her calm expression made you pause.
"Breathe. I'll drive you. You're in no state to get behind the wheel. Come on." Ingrid said reasonably. You looked down at your trembling hands, feeling the unsteadiness in your legs, and realized she was right. You agreed, and Ingrid led you out the door towards her car. After a minute, you heard the front door shut, and saw Mapi standing awkwardly on the porch. You felt a pang of guilt for how you'd acted.
"Get in." You called, as you threw yourself into the passenger seat. Mapi practically bounded towards the car, eyes wide as she slid into the backseat.
"Amiga,"
"We'll talk about it later." Mapi fell silent, as did you. The car remained uneasily quiet as you drove to Ona's place. You called her, more than once, and got no answer. You were flying out of the car the minute Ingrid pulled up, racing towards your girlfriend's door. You probably should have knocked, but you couldn't stand another minute without Ona knowing, being completely sure, that you loved her. You wanted her.
You threw open the door, and marched inside. Alexia and Ona were frozen on the couch. Ona was practically collapsed into Alexia's arms, tears streaming down her face, as Alexia looked helplessly at you. if you had to take a wild guess, it would be that Alexia was trying to convince Ona that you weren't going to break up with her and take Alessia back, and that it wasn't working very well.
"Oni," you said softly, feeling an indescribable pain ripple through you at the sigh of tears on her face. You closed the gap between the two of you, taking Ale's spot on the couch. She moved towards the door, stopping when she was next to Mapi and Ingrid, who were watching on. You wanted to tell them to fuck off, and go somewhere else, but your attention was completely focused on Ona's agonized face in front of yours.
"Oni, baby," you whispered, tilting her chin up, and forcing her to make eye contact with you. You couldn't help but lean in, lightly kissing her cheek. She pushed you away, though, moving far away from you on the couch.
"No, stop. Stop kissing me when you are going to break up with me," she cried.
"I am not breaking up with you, Ona. Not today, not ever. Come here, please." You begged. Tentatively, Ona moved back over, until she was just close enough for you to grip her hand in yours. "Oni, I love you. I spoke with Alessia for closure, for both of us. I was not ever, ever going to get back together with her. I love Alessia, as a friend. What I feel for her, what I felt for her, does not compare to what I feel for you. Ona, you are it for me. It's been a few months, and I know that already. You are the only one I want."
Ona blinked at you, bottom lip trembling. "You are not getting back together with her?" She asked, almost in disbelief.
"No."
"You- you are not.. going to..." Ona stumbled over her words, her deep voice so unsure, so vulnerable.
"The only place I'm going, Ona, is wherever you go. I love you." You figured if you said it enough times, it would have to sink in. Evidently, you were right, because Ona surged forward, wrapping her arms tightly around you as she cried into your neck. "I've got you, my love. I'm yours." You whispered.
"Te amo más que a nada," the brunette responded, words a warm exhale on your neck. They were just for you, not for the girls watching from the doorway, where Ingrid was discreetly trying to wipe a tear away. Your skin was wet with her tears, and she clung to you so tightly it almost hurt. You didn't care. If this was what she needed, you'd stay here forever.
-----
It was hours later, both of you curled up in Ona's bed, when you asked Ona something that had been on your mind.
"Why did you think I would get back with her?" You asked, the words mumbled into her hair.
"When I saw you guys together in Manchester, you seemed so happy. I just thought you would want that again, if you could have it."
"I am one hundred times happier now than I was then, Oni. I've never been as happy as I am when I'm with you."
"That is what Alexia said. And Ingrid. And Mapi, but she was following up on her question of whether I thought you were going to take Alessia back, so I did not really believe her." Ona laughed.
You chuckled. "I almost hit her when she told me what she said."
Ona turned her head on your chest to look up at you. "Two in one day? What stopped you?"
"I knew she was just trying to look out for you." You replied, not meeting Ona's eyes.
"I mean, she was. But I do not believe you. You were scared of Ingrid, yes?"
You threw your head back on the pillow sighing loudly. "Fine! She was mad at Mapi too, but she never would have let me punching her girlfriend go unpunished." You both laughed. Ingrid could be stern, and scary, but the thought of her retaliating was comical.
Your phone rang, then, and you picked it up, seeing Alexia's name and contact picture on your screen. You rolled your eyes. "They're obsessed with us. Cannot leave us along."
"Always have to be in our business, hearing our sickening love confessions," Ona agreed, smirking at you.
You picked up anyway. "Hola, Ale."
"Have you seen twitter?" She asked.
"No. Do you even have twitter, Capi?"
"No, Olga does. You fighting with that girl who fouled Ona is everywhere. You two are the new rumor. It's everywhere, I don't know how you missed it."
"We've been busy." Ona called, and you stifled a laugh as Alexia made retching noise over the phone.
"No! Por favor, no. You are my children, seeing you kiss is bad enough, I do not need to hear this." Alexia complained.
You and Ona cracked up. "Thanks for calling and telling us, Ale."
"Of course. I'll see you guys tomorrow for recovery."
"We'll try to make it, we might still be busy." You teased, seeing Ona blush next to you.
"NO! Basta! I do not want to hear this. You will be at recovery on time, and if I see one mark on either of you, I will throw up."
You laughed your way through goodbyes, before hanging up and opening twitter. Your timeline was covered in different videos and angles of you losing it on the girl that had tackled Ona. People had, clearly, figured out what was going on.
"I feel bad for the Luna stans." You said.
"I feel bad for the ones that think I am in a throuple with Keira and Lucy." Ona replied.
You pulled Ona back on top to straddle you, pressing your lips to hers in a sweet kiss. "Everyone knows now. Any regrets?"
"None. You look hot with a black eye, anyway. You should get them more often."
"Keep calling me hot, and I'll punch myself in the face every morning." Ona dropped her head on your chest, laughing into your skin.
"I love you." She said, leaning up to press her forehead to yours. The mood wasn't joking anymore, it was suddenly intimate, emotional.
"I love you too. Más que nada." You whispered against her lips.
"Más que nada." Ona agreed.
More than anything; anything and anyone that could get in the way. You loved Ona more than all of it.

An Unexpected Match II
DILF/DBF Miguel O’Hara x Female Reader
Pt. 1 Pt. 3
Summary: You and Stephanie take a girls trip to Miami after Stephanie broke up with her high school sweetheart at the end of your freshman year of college. The purpose of the trip was for her to get laid, so your mission was to be her wing woman. However, you didn’t expect to hook up with a mysterious, handsome man for the weekend.
18+ Warning!!! This chapter will have a lot of smut.
This is a very long chapter since I wanted to do the flashback seen in one chapter.
I apologize for any grammatical mistakes I missed.
Enjoy💕
Wc: 7.1k
————————————————————————
Two Years Ago
“Finally, we’re here! It felt like we were never getting to our hotel.” Stephanie slammed the taxi door as she screamed excitedly, getting some weird stares from bystanders.
You pay the taxi driver and give him a nice tip as an apology for your very energetic friend. As you get out, the taxi leaves, and you look at the resort hotel entrance, a sigh of relief and relaxation washing over you.
“Now, let’s get to our room to go to the bar and get a drink. I need one after that grueling flight.” You groan slightly as you and Stephanie walk inside.
After checking in and settling into your room, you are now dressed in more appropriate and sexier bar clothes instead of the leggings and sweats you came in wearing.
“Ok, tonight is about you getting laid and over your ex.” You said as you both walked out of the elevator and towards the outdoor bar by the pool.
“You know, I will be your wing woman this weekend. You need to get laid as well. It’s probably getting dusty down there. You haven’t hooked up since you broke up with your ex right before college started.” Said Stephanie as you both find seats at the bar.
“I’ve gotten laid since.” You argue, but she gives you a side eye, seeing straight through your lie. You roll your eyes and sigh in defeat. “Ok, fine. I haven’t.” You get the bartender’s attention by ordering green tea shots and a cocktail.
You both hold your shot glasses up, “To getting laid.” Said Stephanie, who made you chuckle slightly, repeating her words before clinking glasses and downing the shot.
As you both enjoyed your time at the bar, chatting away and reliving the best and worst moments of Freshmen year, the bartender approached you with a new set of cocktail orders.
“These are from the gentlemen over there.” The bartender said before leaving. You and Stephanie look down to the other end of the bar to see two guys, obviously in college, smiling at you both. They weren’t bad-looking, so Stephanie waved them over.
“Stephanie, what are you doing?”
“Getting us both tickets to getting laid. Before they get here. Drink test.” You both dipped the tip of a nail in your drinks. After waiting a few seconds, you both noticed that your nail polish didn’t change, passing the no-roofie detected test.
“Hey there, ladies. You must have just gotten here. This is our third evening here, and we haven’t met women as beautiful as you. I’m Rafael.” Rafael leaned closer to Stephanie.
“Sweet talker. I like that. I’m Stephanie.” Said Stephanie as she leaned closer to Rafael, clearly interested. You smiled slightly as you could sense the chemistry between the two. Goal achieved.
“Hey, I’m Mat.” The other guy stood next to you as he smiled at you. You smile back at him. "Y/n."
“Can I buy you a shot?” He offered.
“Sure. Green tea’s my favorite.”
“Mine too.” He chuckled as he got the bartender’s attention and ordered the shots.
“Really?” You chuckle at his response.
“Ok, you caught me. Pickleback is my favorite. But green tea shots are always good.” He lifted his hands in surrender as he chuckled.
“Pickles are definitely not my favorite.” You giggle.
“Maybe I can change your mind?” Mat moved closer to you with a smirk.
“Maybe.” You smile back as you lean in closer to him. He smiled as he ordered a set of pickle back shots too.
Once both shots arrived, you decided to try the pickle one first.
“Cheers.” Said Mat as you clinked glasses and drank the shot of Jameson. As you lifted the shot of pickle juice to your mouth, you pulled back and scrunched up your face.
“Nope, can’t do it.” You chuckle as you place it down on the counter.
“I’ll take it. Pickles are the best.” He chuckled as he took your shot which made you chuckle too.
You continued your conversation with Mat. Not too long ago, Stephanie tapped you on the shoulder to signal that she was heading out with Rafael. You had both decided that if you got laid, she would go to another room, even though you insisted the other way around. But just as dramatic as your best friend was, she was just as stubborn.
Mat was cute, and talking with him was nice, but you weren’t feeling hot and bothered by him. You didn’t feel that sexual attraction, which was frustrating, to say the least. But there didn’t seem to be other prospects floating your way tonight.
You glanced at the pool as its blue hue glowed against the dusk sky. That’s when you noticed a tall man walking towards the bar. His white shirt fitted tightly against him as it perfectly contrasted against his warm tan skin. As the mysterious man got closer, you noticed the stark height difference as he walked up to the bar and ordered dark liquor.
The man noticed your gaze as his reddish-brown hues met yours. Just one look into his eyes, and you were hypnotized. You notice him checking you out before he smirks at you, now looking ahead and taking a sip of his drink.
“Y/n? Are you good?” Mat’s voice brought you out of your hypnosis as you looked back at him with a smile as he looked at you with a confused smile.
“Yeah, sorry. Thought I saw something. But it was just my imagination.” You chuckle nervously, hoping he bought it.
“Alright. As I was saying...” Mat continued to talk as you tried your best to pay attention to him.
Your eyes briefly returned to where the mysterious man was but were disappointed to see no one there. Maybe you did imagine him. He seemed too perfect to be true.
“So...do you want to get out of here?” Mat smiled as he scratched a non-existent scratch on the back of his neck. Before you can respond, the mysterious man walks up and stands to the other side of you. “Another whisky for me. And whatever the gorgeous lady next to me wants.” The man says as he slides the drink the bartender made for you closer to you on the wooden counter. Now up close, you noticed how handsome he was, from his chiseled jaw to his plush lips and piercing brown eyes fixed on you.
“So, what’s your name, Hermosa?” He smirked and looked down at you as he sipped his drink. Even sitting next to you, you barely reach his broad shoulders.
“Hey man, she’s with me.” Said Mat as he scowled at the other man and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, which, to be honest, you weren’t pleased about.
“Are you her husband? Boyfriend?” The man asked as he arched his eyebrow.
“Well, no.”
“Then she’s available. As long as she’s interested.” The man slid his hand around your waist as he moved you closer to him. As you felt your body began to tingle, your heart raced in your chest. You definitely felt hot and bothered by him. And you liked it.
You slightly turned to face Mat as you smiled softly at him. “It was nice getting to know you, Mat, but if I’m being honest, I didn’t feel any spark between us. I’m sorry. I can pay for my drinks from your tab.” You bit your lip as you looked at Mat, who looked at you with a frown before glaring at the man next to you.
“No, it’s fine. I’ll cover the drinks. It was nice meeting you, too, y/n. If you decide to ditch this guy, give me a call.” He smiled, slipping you his number on the counter before walking away. You felt a tinge of guilt for ending it like that. But you couldn’t ignore this spark between you and the figure next to you, who you turned towards.
“Y/n, that’s a beautiful name.” The man smiled as he turned your chair so you were fully facing him; he moved the stool closer. You smile up at him, cheeks rosy as your faces were only inches apart.
“What’s your name, stranger?” Your gaze meets his, not able to look away.
“It’s Miguel O’Hara.”
“That’s a fitting name for a handsome man.”
Miguel smirked as he put his hands on your waist, pulling you closer to him. You try to take a sip from your drink when he pulls it away and as you give him a confused smile. He leans down to your ear as his hand gently snaked up your thigh.
“I think you're a year or two short from drinking that, cariño.” He whispered, which sent chills down your back.
“So what? Are you going to turn me in?” You chuckle.
“I might. Unless you agree to go on a walk with me.”
“Where are we walking to?” You smirk as you lean closer to him.
“Maybe around the resort, then towards my room.” He says as he gently grabs your chin and kisses you softly. As soon as your lips met, you felt a small shock as he kissed you. You gently break away as you say, “That sounds like fun.”
After Miguel paid his tab and the rest of yours, he took you by the waist as you walked back to his room.
The walk took a little longer as you both stole kisses from each other, which got a few blushing glances from bystanders. You finally made it to the room, which you didn’t think you would make it to, for how quickly the sexual tension built between you two had gotten.
Miguel swiftly unlocked and opened the door. Before he picked you up, you wrapped your legs around his waist as a moan escaped your lips. He kissed your neck, his teeth grazing your skin ever so often.
Entering the room, Miguel laid you on the bed. He placed one deep kiss on your lips before he lifted himself up from on top of you. He took off his shirt and threw it to the ground. You gazed down his form as your eyes traced his chest to his perfectly toned abs before you met his lustful and hungry gaze.
Within minutes all your clothes and his were on the floor as you watched him slowly remove your black lace panties before separating your legs, wider than your used to so he could be between your thighs. Miguel hovered over you as he captured your lips and began to trail them down your neck to your breasts. You bit your lip as you felt his lips sucking on one of your breasts. One of his hands trailed up your thigh as he inserted one of his fingers into your wet folds.
Miguel removed his lips briefly from your nipple, peaked and sensitive from his touches as his eyes lightly glared at you. “Don’t hold back your voice, cariño. I want to hear you.” He growled slightly, which made your core burn hotter from his commanding tone. You nod at him; a smirk replaces his frown as he kisses your lips, “Good girl.” A moan escaped you, not holding back as you felt him insert another finger inside you. You knew he was a large man, but two of his fingers alone filled you.
His lips soon left the plush mountains of your breasts as he kissed down your stomach, where his face landed between your thighs. He grabbed your legs and put them over his shoulders as he fingered fucked you. You felt your core tighten, desperate for release due to the quick pace of his fingers thrusting and curling inside you.
You bit your lip in pure pleasure, about to reach your blissful peak, when you suddenly felt the absence of his fingers. You lightly glare up at him, cheeks flushed, breath slightly uneven. “Miguel!” You whined, which only made him chuckle. “You’re cute when your flustered under me, Hermosa.”
Before you could argue back at him, you gripped the bed sheets as you felt his tongue slowly lick your wet folds before sucking your sensitive clit, instinctively making your hips buck up against him. “So eager for me, huh?” He chuckled as he inserted his tongue inside your dripping cunt. You roll your eyes at his cocky attitude, but you don’t care as he buries his mouth against you as if you were his favorite meal and, at the same time, his last meal.
You begin to feel your core tighten again, “Cum for me so that I can taste more of you,” he said before his lips sucked on your clit. A loud groan from your sweet voice was music to Miguel’s ears as a small groan escaped him when he felt your thighs squeeze against his face, making his cock twitch from the pressure.
Your grip on the sheets relaxed as you released yourself onto his face, which made your flushed cheeks darken as he licked every drop. It had been so long since you felt this good from an orgasm. Possibly, never felt this amazing before.
Miguel lowered your legs from his shoulders as he positioned himself between you. He hovered over you as he removed his boxers. Your eyes widen slightly, jaw slightly open when you see his size. How was he going to fit inside you? As if he could read your thoughts, he leaned down, lips gently brushing against yours as he chuckled, “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure to be gentle. At least for the first couple of minutes.” Miguel smirked as he captured your lips into his. He licked your lips, wanting to explore your mouth. Still, you teasingly refused, which was a poor mistake as he entered the tip of his cock inside you, making you gasp and letting his tongue enter your mouth.
You instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist as he slowly inserted deeper inside your wet cunt. Even with the prep, he still made your walls stretch farther than they have ever been. Once you gently moved your hips against his, it was his cue to begin as he removed himself but the tip before thrusting back inside you.
“Miguel.” You cry out as you claw at his back from the constant abuse of your pussy. His pace begins to quicken as he slams back into you, as he feels his balls slap against you.
“You keep squeezing around me like that, and I’ll lose myself faster, cariño. Damn, you’re tight. I love how you squeeze and suck my cock deeper into your pussy.” Miguel growled as his pace grew faster, making you feel your core tighten again.
He grabbed your hips and lifted them slightly as he found a new angle to fuck you in, making the tip of his cock hit in just the right place repeatedly. You cried out loud as you reached your euphoric high again, as you covered his cock in your juices.
Trying to catch your breath, you feel him remove himself as you give him a confused look. He chuckled, “Giving you a second to catch your breath before we continue.” He chuckled as he kissed your lips.
Your cheeks are already flushed. It was hard to see them grow redder from his sexual stamina. He flipped you so you were on your hands and knees, taking you by the hips and thrusting himself back in.
Your knuckles turn white from gripping the sheets so tight as Miguel fucked you from behind. You didn’t think his size would surprise you again in the new position, but you were wrong as you felt him fill you more.
Trailing after your third orgasm, your cunt began to feel overstimulated as he continued to fuck you rough from behind.
“It’s s-so much. T-too much.” You mewled out loud. Miguel leaned forward, and you felt him press agaisnt your back as he kissed your shoulder to your neck. “Just one more. You can handle one more. Right, Hermosa?” He whispered in your ear. You nod your head as you feel your lower stomach tighten.
“Fuck, let me cum inside this pretty little pussy of yours. What do you say?” Miguel continued to slam into you as his cock twitched, almost at its peak. You moaned out loud as you squeezed around him from your third orgasm. The sudden tightness around his cock makes him groan as he spills deep inside you, coating your walls white.
Your upper body collapsed on the soft duvet as Miguel continued to thrust inside you, becoming more sloppy as he came down from his sexual high. Once he removed himself from you, he went to the bathroom to grab a wet cloth as he gently cleaned around your thighs and overstimulated pussy.
Once he was done, he got back on the bed and brought you both under the covers as he held you against him. He gently lifted your chin as he kissed you softly. You return the kiss before pulling away as you both try to catch your breath after your fun physical activity that just took place.
Fatigue soon washed over you as Miguel pulled you closer against his chest and kissed your head. “Get some rest. You’ll need it for tomorrow.”
The sunlight peaking into the window woke you from your peaceful slumber. You begin to wake up and feel how sore your body is from last night’s events. Remembering you weren’t in your room, you look to the other side of the bed and slightly frown when you see it empty.
You then register the sound of the shower in the bathroom; looking at the arm clock, you notice it is 9 am. Your eyes widen; you overslept. A small groan left your body as you got up from the bed. Your body was sore. You didn’t realize how rough he was going last night until now.
You try to find all your clothes and get them on before he gets out of the shower. Taking longer than normal, you could only get your panties and bra on when you heard the bathroom door open. Out walked Miguel in only a towel that hung dangerously low around his hips as he gave you a confused look.
“Sorry, I’m almost ready and will be out in a few minutes.” You say as you try to find your skirt.
“Why? Are you trying to run away from me, Hermosa? Was last night not satisfying enough? You seemed to really enjoy yourself. But I could easily show you again.” He chuckled as he walked up to you and wrapped his arms around your waist, pushing you into his wet chiseled chest.
“For some reason, I thought this was a one-nightstand.” You nervously chuckle as you bite your lower lip and look up at him. You see a small frown on his lips as he looks at you.
“Do you want it to be? Cause I know I want this to keep going. I can’t seem to get enough of you.” He smirked and leaned down to kiss you. You wrapped your arms around him as you got on your toes to deepen the kiss.
“I don’t want this to end yet either.” You happily smile, which he returns as he kisses you again. The kisses became more heated as you both were hungry for each other as you smashed your lips.
Miguel picks you up and places you on the bed as he hovers over you, placing his lips across your breasts and neck as he leaves more bruises over the ones he made last night.
You moan softly from his lips as they meet yours again in a loving kiss. Miguel moved his lips from you briefly as he gazed at you, “You’re gorgeous, cariño.” He smiles as he kisses you softly. A groan escapes his lips when he hears your phone ring.
“Sorry, I have to get it. It might be my friend who I’m staying with.” Miguel nods as you turn to grab your phone from the nightstand. You sit slightly up against the bed as Miguel continues his expedition with his lips on your body.
“Hey, Steph. How did it go last night?” You say as you try your best to stifle any moans.
“It was great! A good way to start off the weekend here. I went back to the room and saw you weren’t there. Are you out already?”
“I didn’t go back to the room last night. I went to someone else’s.” You feel Miguel smirk against your skin as he looks at you before attacking your neck with his lips.
“Ooo, I’m glad you got some last night too. Was it with that Mat guy?”
“No, this other guy came to the bar, and we hit it off very well.”
“Ooo, I definitely have to know all the details. But how was it?” Your cheeks lightly turn red as you see Miguel look at you with a smirk as he raises an eyebrow waiting for your answer. You smile as you playfully roll your eyes as you look at Miguel.
“It was really good. Definitely left me to soar this morning.” You giggle from Miguel’s playful antics as you are on the phone.
“Well, I can tell it went really well, as it seems you are still with him.” You can hear the grin on her face as you only could let out a small chuckle. “Hey, Raphael and I were about to get breakfast. Do you and your friend want to come? We’ll just be at the outdoor part of the hotel restaurant.” You agreed before saying goodbye and hanging up the phone.
Placing the phone on the bed, you look back at Miguel as you kiss him. “Since you heard everything, do you want to get breakfast?” You asked him with slight hesitation, wondering how far he wanted to take this.
Miguel smiled as he took your chin and kissed you again. “I would love to. But first, let’s continue where we left off.” Lust in his eyes, he smirked before removing his towel and taking your panties off.
After a quick round, you and Miguel got dressed and ready. Ready to leave, you both walk out the door with Miguel closing it. As you walk out his door, you bump into Mat, who is about to enter the room next to Miguel’s. He smiles awkwardly at you as he grabs his key to enter his room. But not before Miguel kissed you in front of him. You blushed, embarrassed to find out you shared a wall. You look up to Miguel, who has a smirk on his face. You lightly hit his chest with your hand as you try to hide your smile. “Miguel, you knew.”
“What can I say, Hermosa? Just wanted to let the guy know who you chose last night.” He chuckles before you both make your way to your floor, where your room is to change into new clothes.
After you got changed, you made it to the restaurant and headed to the outdoor patio, where you saw Stephanie and the guy she slept with.
“Heyy!” Stephanie said as he got up and hugged you. Before she let go, she whispered in your ear. “Damn, girl. You caught yourself a tall glass of steaming hot water.” You chuckled at her words.
“We actually ate already since it took you guys a bit longer. But don’t apologize. Never apologize for having some fun in the morning.” Stephanie winked at you as she took a sip of her coffee. Her comment made you playfully roll your eyes and chuckle as you and Miguel sat down.
After talking briefly with Stephanie and her hookup, you and Miguel leave and head to the pool. Since this was an adults-only hotel, private cabanas were offered with their own small pool. You had read about it on the hotel’s website, but you knew it was too expensive to do it. Not with your college job budget.
Of course, Miguel tells you he has a surprise and asks you to close your eyes as he leads you to your destination. When he said you could open your eyes, you gasped in awe at the sight. It was one of the private cabanas with an ocean view.
“Do you like it?” Asked Miguel as he brought you closer to him and kissed your neck. You turn around and kiss him in excitement. “I love this. I can’t believe you got one of the private cabanas. I’ll have to make sure to thank you properly.” You smirk as you guide him into the private cabana area and close the curtain to the public side. Only seeing the ocean view, knowing no one could see you from that view unless they were on a boat.
You take off your bikini cover-up dress and put sunscreen on. After you are done, you see Miguel take off his shirt and sit on the cabana bed.
“Do you need any help with putting on sunscreen?” You smile as Miguel smirks, “I would, actually.” You get on the cabana bed behind him and spread the sunscreen across his back, shoulders, and neck. You massage the sunscreen into his shoulders and neck as he leans back against your, enjoying your touch. “Your hands are heavenly.” Miguel groaned in pure bliss. You smiled as you kissed his cheek before moving away from him, making him frown before a smirk reappeared. He watched you straddle his lap as you helped him put sunscreen on his chest.
Your eyes would trail down his abs, every once in a while going back up to meet his eyes that craved for you. Miguel sits back against the cushioned bed, keeping you on his lap. Grabbing you by the hips, he pulled you closer against him as he kissed you.
“I want to know more about you, Hermosa. I only know your name.” Miguel said in between kissing you. You smiled against his lips at his comment before pulling away.
“What do you want to know?”
“Well, first off, your age. Then where do you go to college.” He chuckled as one of his hands gently rubbed against your thigh.
“I’m 19, and I go to Nueva York University. Now you seem to be old enough not to be in college. I’m guessing 25?” You furrow your brows and give him a confused smile when he laughs.
“Guess a little older.”
“28?”
“No, I’m 35.” When Miguel revealed his age, your eyes widened in shock.
“You're joking, right?” You chuckle and stop when he sees his serious look as he smiles at you.
“Is that a dealbreaker?” He asked.
“No, it’s not at all. I was just surprised. I don’t mind the age gap.” You smile as you lean in and kiss him on the lips.
“Good. Cause I would be pretty bummed to see this end right now.” Miguel smirked as he moved your hair behind your shoulders and kissed your neck, making a small moan escape your lips as he touched your sweet spot.
After a heated make-out session, you both felt the sun’s heat on your bodies. Miguel picked you up by the waist as he stood up and walked over to the private pool.
A mischievous smirk appeared on his lips, which made you nervously chuckle. “What are you thinking about O’Hara?” You then notice him walking closer to the pool as you look back at him with wide eyes. “Miguel...”
“I think we should take a dip in the pool.” He chuckled as he carried you into the cold water. A small gasp left your lips as your back arched, pressing your chest against him. Miguel walked farther into the water, smile getting wider every time your body flinched as it was covered in water.
“You're cheeky.” You chuckle as you kiss Miguel’s smiling lips. One of your hands goes into the water as you lightly splash his face. Miguel wiped his face, surprised by the sudden water attack. He sends you a playful glare before splashing your face with more water. You brush your wet hair back from your face as you laugh it off before Miguel cups your face and leans down to kiss you.
During the kiss, you splash him again as you get out of his hold, laughing. Miguel wiped his face chuckling as he quickly grabbed you as you tried to swim away from him laughing. He sits on the underwater bench and sits you on his lap, wrapping his arms around you so you can’t escape. He then kisses your cheek, whispering, “I think you’re the cheeky one. And bad girls deserve to be punished.”
Your eyes widen slightly, cheeks flushed from his last words. A smirk appeared on his face as he untied your bikini top, letting your breasts free. He then briefly took you off his lap, turning you around so your back was against his chest. He pushed your bottoms to the side before you were slammed down on to his member.
You moaned out loud as you tried to adjust to his size. However, Miguel didn’t let you as he began to ram his hips up into you, having a rough pace. You were in slight pain, but it didn’t bother you as you were overcome with pleasure. As one of his hands held your hips in place, the other began to play with one of your breasts as he used his fingers to play with your nipple, making you gasp from how sensitive you were.
You lower your hand to your clit to help relieve some of your arousal. However, as soon as your fingers touched your sensitive area, Miguel snatched your wrist and moved it to your side as you groaned in frustration.
“Miguel.” You whine as you lay your head back against his shoulder.
“Sorry, cariño. Only a good girl gets to cum. You were being cheeky, so you aren’t allowed to cum yet. You just have to sit here and take my cock in this pretty little pussy of yours.” Miguel whispered in your ear before kissing and marking up along your neck.
You turn your head to face him, and your lips connect into a heated kiss. The water splashes around from the movement of both your bodies. In the distance, you see a boat sail into view.
“There’s a boat. W-what if someone sees us?”
“If someone does, they’ll witness a gorgeous woman getting fucked in a pool. I’d like to witness that. But I’m in a much better spot cause I’m the one fucking that gorgeous woman. Now, have you learned your lesson?”
“Yes. Please, Miguel.”
“Please, what?” Miguel chuckled as he kissed your neck.
“Please touch me.”
“ As you wish.” Miguel lowered his hand as he began to rub your clit. A moan escapes you as you arch your back against his chest. “Cum for me.” He whispered as your eyes rolled back from the overwhelming pleasure coursing through your body as you came from your high.
Miguel groaned as he felt your walls tighten around his cock. “Por Dios! You feel so good. I wish I could stay inside you.” Miguel bucked his hips into you one last time before you felt him spill deep inside you. Miguel rode out his high before he removed himself from you, kissing your shoulder as you both tried to catch your breath.
After spending the morning and afternoon at the cabana, you both decide to head back to get ready for dinner, as Miguel said he made a reservation. You first stop at your room to grab a pair of new clothes before returning to Miguel’s room.
You decide to take a shower together to save time and indulge both of your sexual hunger for one another. It might have taken less time if you took separate showers, but why would you deny having shower sex with a man like Miguel?
After rushing to get ready, you leave the room and follow Miguel to the restaurant. You decided to walk there since it would only take 5 to 10 minutes, and the Miami night was at the perfect temperature. Once you arrived, you were taken to your seat. Looking around, you noticed how nice the restaurant was. It definitely had a few dollar signs on the Google review.
“This place is gorgeous.” You tell Miguel as you look at him across the table. You never would have thought twice about sleeping with a man older than you. But with Miguel, it didn’t feel weird at all.
“I’m glad you think so. It’s Italian. I hope you like that. And order anything you like. It’s on me.”
You looked up from your menu, slightly wide-eyed, “That’s sweet of you, Miguel. But let me pay for us. You’ve picked up the tab since we met last night.” Wow, last night. You had only known Miguel for 24 hours. Yet it felt like you’ve known him for years. Miguel smiled as he set the menu down and gently took your hand.
“I’ll pay for dinner since I suggested the restaurant. And I don’t mind paying for such a beautiful woman. But you can pay for coffee tomorrow.” He added the last part because he could tell you felt bad that he was paying for everything. But he would pick up every bill for you. You were just so perfect.
“I would love to pay for coffee tomorrow. But do you mind waking up at 7 am?” You bite your lip out of bad habit from your nerves as you notice a frown of confusion on his face.
“I don’t mind waking up at that time. But why so early?”
“I-I leave tomorrow morning. I was only here for the weekend.” Your gaze shifted from his back to the menu. When the waitress returned, you both ordered your drinks and appetizers before they left; Miguel took your hand, gaining your attention.
“Well, we’ll have to make every minute count then.” Miguel smiled as he lifted your hand and kissed your knuckles.
“I agree.” Your cheeks turn slightly pink from his small romantic gesture. He was such a gentleman when he was outside the bedroom. Which you’re definitely not complaining about.
Dinner passed by faster than you would have liked as Miguel was leading you out of the restaurant, his hand on your back gently guiding you out. Dinner was really nice; you got to know a bit more about him between flirting with each other. He worked at Alchamex, where he talked a bit about what he does and the people he works with. Seeing his annoyed reactions when he mentioned certain people was cute. He then mentioned he had a three-year-old daughter, which melted your heart when he spoke about her.
For some reason, you had no problems with the age gap or that he was a father. It’s not the first time you’ve been hit on by older men. But you would just scoff and ignore them. But with Miguel. It felt different.
As you were walking back, you got to learn more about him. He had a younger brother named Gabriel, who his daughter was named after. You asked if you could see a photo of his daughter, which he was glad to show the Home Screen on his phone. Your heart melted at the image of his daughter. She was freaking adorable. Despite only being three, she looked much like Miguel, which you thought was cute.
You did ask the awkward question if he was married before. But Miguel only smiled and said he hadn’t and that Gabi was the result of a month-long relationship in that he found out the woman he dated was pregnant with his child until he saw her again 9 months later, giving him the baby and the parental rights and saying that she didn’t want to be a mother and to not contact her.
After he told you that, the story of how he got his daughter broke your heart. How could someone abandon their child like that? Especially one so adorable. You hugged Miguel and kissed him on the cheek for being a great man and taking care of his child.
You both returned to his room, where Miguel picked you up and put you on the bed, quickly removing both your clothes before ravaging you for hours until you were so overstimulated that you almost passed out. After Miguel helped gently clean you up, bring extra careful when he wiped the wet towel over your upper thighs and overspent pussy. He then brought you against his chest under the covers as he kissed you good night and said, “Let me make you feel good one last time tomorrow morning before you leave.”
You nodded, kissing him softly before your eyes grew heavy, entering into a peaceful slumber. Miguel gazed at your sleeping form, wanting to memorize every part of you before you left him. His last thought before he fell asleep was maybe tomorrow morning, he could convince you to stay with him longer.
You woke up the next morning extremely sore. The past two nights, really taking a toll on your body. But you didn’t mind it, as the sex was amazing enough to not care about the bruises and sore muscles the next day.
Checking your phone, you are relieved that you woke up at 5:30 and before Miguel. You looked at the man sleeping soundly next to you. How could someone look even more handsome when they were asleep? You wish you could see those reddish-brown hues lovingly gazing at you one last time before you left. But you decided it would be less painful if you left before he woke up.
You gently get out of bed, stopping every time Miguel slightly shifts in his sleep. Leaving his bed’s warmth was hard, but you had to go. When you finally left the bed, you quickly dressed before quietly getting your wallet and his room key.
You came back 15 minutes later with a coffee and breakfast sandwich for him as a small thank you for everything he’s paid for. You were relieved to still find him asleep as you walked in the door. Before you left, you wrote him a small note:
I have to raincheck on breakfast with you this morning to catch my flight, but here is a coffee and breakfast sandwich as a small thank you for dinner and everything else. I promise to take you out for a proper breakfast or dinner if we ever meet again. I really had a great time with you this weekend. I’m sorry I left before you could say goodbye.
- Love
Y/n
After leaving the note on your pillow, you look at Miguel again before quietly leaving his room. You went back to your room to see Stephanie already packed and ready.
“Hey, we haven’t seen each other all weekend.” Stephanie chuckled as she walked over to hug you. Before she let you go, she frowned slightly when she saw that painful look on your face. “Are you alright, y/n?”
“I know it was only a hookup for the weekend. But I think I stupidly caught feelings for him.” You chuckle softly, trying to fight away the pain in your heart.
“Aww, did he not return your feelings?” Stephanie said as she helped you pack; you tried to stop her, but she refused since she could tell you were hurting.
“Actually- I never told him. Guess I didn’t want to ruin such a great weekend if he didn’t feel the same way.” Stephanie scoffs as she flicks your forehead, which you swatted away as you lightly glared at her.
“Why didn’t you say anything? How did he seem this morning when you said goodbye?”
“I actually left before he woke up...”
“Girl! I swear I will kill you for some of the stupid things you do. Why would you do that?”
“Well, did you do that with Raphael?”
“No! Because mine was just a hookup. Yours was something more. When I saw you with him at breakfast the other day, he seemed to care for you.”
“Well, it’s too late. Plus, it wouldn’t have worked out anyways. I’m in college, still trying to figure out my life when he already has his figured out. Let’s just go. The cab is probably waiting for us downstairs.” You zip up your suitcase before the both of you make it downstairs and into the taxi.
Getting to the airport, passing security, and boarding the plane went surprisingly smoothly. But as you gaze out your window, watching Miami grow smaller, a tear falls down your cheek as you feel like you made a mistake and left a piece of your heart back at the hotel.
Present
The barbecue began to die down as the hours were ticking into the night. It was only your family, Stephanie, and the O’Hara’s helping to clean everything up.
“Y/n, can you take all the dishes and put them in the sink? Liam can do them.”
“What! Why? Y/n’s the one bringing them there?” Whined your younger brother as he was putting garbage in a bag.
“Liam, you’ll do them. Plus, your sister just got home today. She can get a break from chores.” Your mother lightly shot a glare at your younger brother for his attitude. You place a hand on her shoulder and smile at her.
“It’s ok, mom. I’ll do them. He wants to see his friends, and I’ll only be in the house.” You say as you pick up all the dirty dishes and bring them inside the house.
You began to wash the dishes when two large arms trapped you against the sink. Your stomach dropped as butterflies began to fly in rhythm with your rapid heart rate.
You felt him press his toned body against you, making your cheeks red and your body hot. You felt him gently move your hair from your shoulder and press his lips against your neck before whispering in your ear with that low sultry voice you missed so much.
“It’s been a while, Hermosa. I’ve missed you.”

Too Late To Turn Back Now {Angus Tully x Reader}

This was one of the more lighthearted and fun as hell chapters to write, so I hope you all enjoy it!

Apparently, Angus Tully had gone on another adventure without you. One probably shouldn’t call it an adventure if he went to the chapel, and merely stared at the photo of your dead friend for hours on end.
“Do you think he was praying?” You asked Mary after she told you that while you were helping her make lunch.
“I think he’s just as religious as you.”
You scoffed. “He’d never become a priest.”
“You’d make a lousy nun.”
“I’d be a fun one.”
Once the four of you sat down to eat, your father tried to give you cookies you knew for a fact were given to you by Miss Crane. You also knew they were a week old at this point. Still, to spare your father’s feelings, you broke off a piece. You then put it in your mouth, nodding with a smile before bringing your napkin to your lips as if to clean them, when really you just spat the cookie into it.
Immediately, Angus asked to go to the bathroom, and you knew he wasn’t doing that, but you couldn’t blame him.
“I’m trying.” Your father shrugged, and all you and Mary could do was laugh.
You helped her was the dishes after that, and went back out to the dining hall, still seeing your dad sitting at the same table, alone.
“Everything alright?” You asked.
“Yes, just waiting on Mr. Tully.”
“You honestly can’t force him to learn today.” You scoffed, leaning against one of the chairs. “It’s Christmas Eve-Eve.”
“You always had lessons on Christmas Eve-Eve, and you didn’t complain.”
“I did.” You laughed, rolling your eyes. “Several times.”
He sighed. “I’ll let him out early by an hour; if you attend as well.”
“Never mind, let him rot.”
“I thought so.” He got up from his chair. “Where on God’s green earth is that boy?”
You watched him leave through the doors Angus took ten minutes ago, and as you were about to go into the kitchen to (lovingly) bother Mary some more, you heard shouting. Now of course, you were (and still are) a nosey bitch, so you had no choice but to also go through the doors leading out into the hallway. You heard Angus first.
“There’s nobody here, okay? Just us two losers, a grieving mom, and your-.”
His face and words fell once he saw you enter, and your father turned to see you standing in the doorframe, looking as if you wandered into something you shouldn’t have. Then, you threw on the attitude.
“What am I now?”
He looked away. “Nothing.”
“Oh, wow!” You began with fake enthusiasm.
“I didn’t mean-.”
“-No, no of course you didn’t.”
Your father stepped in. “That’s enough from the both of you. Mr. Tully, I can forgive you for using the phone without permission if-.”
“-If what?” He interrupted. “No, let’s cut the shit: You stay out of my way, and I stay out of yours.”
Of course, your father had detention slips in his back pocket, and of course he threw one up. “That’s a detention.”
Angus pushed past him, groaning and walking fast down the hall. You pursed your lips. “You really showed him.”
“Stuff it, Lady Macbeth.” He scolded, then called Angus. “You just earned yourself a detention, sir. Now, get back here!”
Angus looked back. “Being here with you is already one big fucking detention!”
“Son of a bitch, that’s another detention!”
In response, Angus knocked over a trash can, which caused your father to run like you’d never seen him run before. You should be ashamed that your first instinct was to laugh, but you weren’t and you still aren’t.
You should also have felt like a fool for deciding to run after them as if it were a game. Again, you didn’t feel like one then, and if you were to do it again as an old woman, you would in a heartbeat.
You saw as Angus tore off posters from the wall and would stop at corners just to taunt your father. Then, after running around more than half the school (you had no idea how much honestly, but it was enough for you), you stopped outside of the gym with the both of them. Even with Angus’s back turned, you knew he was contemplating the unthinkable.
“Don’t you even think about it, Mr. Tully.” Your father warned, panting from running. “You are a hair’s breadth from suspension. I’ll wash my hands of you, you hear me? Wash my hands.” Angus ignored him, stepping into the gym.
You followed your father as he kept going. “Stop right there, you know the gym is strictly off limits. This is your Rubicon. Do not cross the Rubicon.”
Angus took one look at the gym equipment, then back to the two of you. “Alea jacta est.”
He winked at you before springing towards the trampoline, bouncing off of it and over the balance beam. When his body landed with a hard ‘thud!’, you and your father were stricken with tense silence.
Which was then broken when an inhuman scream ripped from Angus’ throat.
Still, as your father looked on in horror, you said (being completely unbothered). “He’s faking it.”
When his screams didn’t subside, and you only heard them grow louder and he threw in more explicate language, your smile fell. It was when he got to his knees did you see how mangled his left arm looked, and you felt like you were going to throw up.
Angus Tully was one step ahead of you in that department, and that’s all we should say about that (not that he nearly puked on you; if anyone ever says that, they’re lying and should be shot on sight).
So, that was how, on the afternoon of Christmas Eve-Eve, you came to be standing outside of your father’s shitty 1964 Nova. You and Angus, who was crying while wearing half of his jacket, were shivering violently, waiting for your father to scrape off the car.
“Hurry up!” Both you and him would beg.
“I am hurrying!” Would be your father’s only response, and you saw his face grow redder every time either of you would yell.
Luckily, he managed to (somehow) scrape it all off and you three piled into the car. Even though you were going to anyway, you father insisted you sit in the front (more than likely because he knew you and Angus would probably try to kill each other in a high tense situation, and who would’ve figured he was right).
“I was on thin ice already.” Your father panicked at you as he stepped on the gas to the hospital. “If Woodrup finds out, the facts won’t matter, he’ll make it my fault.”
“It is your fault!” Angus cried from the back of the car, trying to hold his mangled arm up. “You were supposed to be looking after me!”
“I told you to stop!”
“You said you washed your hands of me!”
“No, I meant it metaphorically!”
“Of course you meant it metaphorically. What were you gonna do, actually go and wash your hands?!”
Your father turned back to the road. “Unbelievable. Unbelievable, I said I will wash my hands, never once did I say it in the present tense!”
“I don’t know, Pontius Pilate.” You shrugged. “This Jesus guy makes a good point.”
When he hissed your real name, you nearly shrank into your seat. “I don’t need any more of this from you. You were the one to tell me he was faking it anyway!”
“You said that?!” Angus yelled. “Jesus, I knew you hated all men.”
“Not true.” You turned around to look at him. “I would’ve said the exact same thing about a woman, especially if I heard her screaming from your room!”
Out of all the times you made a man cry and left him speechless, this one was and forever will be your favorite (obviously he was crying from his arm, but you liked to think your comment also did that). Your father scolded you for your foul mouth, but it was 100% worth it.
Tumblr media
There you three sat in the emergency room, waiting for over an hour for a nurse to let you in, when your father started monologuing to himself.
“This is the end. They’ll inform the school, who will inform your parents, and then it’s curtains. You’re gonna get me fired; you.” He looked at Angus, then you. “I hope you like sleeping in the snow, Josephine.”
“I love it more than life itself.” You rolled your eyes.
Angus grumbled. “I’m the one about to lose an arm and all you can think about is yourself.”
“Hey, he was worried about me.” You pointed out.
He turned and glared at you, and you actually felt bad for the first time that day.
A nurse soon approached you, handing your father a clipboard and pen. “If you could just fill this out, please. Admissions and insurance.”
Your father, hesitantly, begins to fill it out. It sounded like a joke at first, having to sleep somewhere else, but honestly what were you going to do? You and your father lived in the faculty housing ever since-.
“-Excuse me?” Angus asked the nurse as she was walking away. “Is there any way we could skip this whole insurance thing?”
“It’s just standard procedure.”
“I understand. But look, we were over at Squantz pond playing hockey, and I slipped on the ice.”
Your father whispered. “Angus, what are you doing?”
But he kept going, glancing at you for a moment. “Our mom told him not to take us, but I made him. Our folks are divorced, and we don’t get to see each other very often. She’ll be mad as a hornet if she finds out.”
The nurse still didn’t let up. “Okay, that’s your business. But we just have certain protocols.”
“Yeah, protocols.” Your father tried to warn.
Angus didn’t listen to either. “Please, we ever get to see my dad. It was my fault, all mine. I don’t want to get him in trouble.” He looked at you. “We can’t have her dragging him to court again.”
You shook your head, swallowing a pretend lump in your throat. “No. Last time was…oh god.”
He looked back at the nurse.  “Can we skip the whole insurance thing? We can pay cash. Right, Dad?”
What a sucker; it took you and Angus to do ‘Kicked Puppy” eyes for a minute, and she was brining the three of you in to the see the doctor in three.
When they were removing his shirt, they told him first look away from the arm, but they didn’t inform you.
“Is it that bad?” He asked upon hearing your audible disgust.
“Not the worst thing I’ve seen in a hospital.”
Your father slugged you, but not hard enough for it to hurt. Still, the whole thing was a blur as they popped Angus’ arm back into its socket. It was dislocated, not broken, and a part of you selfishly wish that it had been just to spare you from the disgusting noises. That and also Angus’s screaming, as if you hadn’t been objectified to that enough.
The three of you were leaving after Angus' arm was tied in a sling, when your father spoke up.
“Barton men don’t do that.”
“Do what?” Angus asked, readjusting his sling.
"Lie."
“Well, I had momentum.”
“Mhm,” he looked at you. “what’s your excuse?”
You shrugged. “I don’t go to Barton, and I’m not a man. Thank God, by the way, considering I hate all of them.”
Even though you said that sarcastically, neither of the men said you were wrong.
When you three made it to the pharmacy, and your father handed over the prescription, the pharmacist went to search for it. Angus lowered his voice, saying to your dad.
“You said that if Woodrup finds out, you and her screwed. So now he won’t find out.”
“What if your parents ask?” You questioned.
“Never going to happen. Trust me.”
Your father raised his brows. “Okay, then. This all remains entre nous. Got it? You know what entre nous means?”
“Oui, monsieur.” He smirked “Now you owe me.”
“Owe you?” Your father gasped. “Do not try to leverage me, Mr. Tully.”
“All I’m looking for is little thank you that I did something nice for you. That’s all.”
You shrugged, deciding you wanted a treat too. “It is Christmas Eve-Eve.”
Tumblr media
Your father took you all out to ‘The Winning Ticket’; the classiest tavern within 50 miles. Classy being the less dingy, place in Barton. As your father and ‘Friend of Some Sort’ had a minor debate on underage drinking, you saw the last waitress you wanted approach.
“Miss Crane, as I live and breathe.” Your father sounded amazed as if he saw Aphrodite herself. “What are you doing here?”
“Oh, hi guys!” She laughed “Yeah, I always pick up a little extra work over Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
“Well uh,” he gestured to Angus. “This is Mr. Tully.” Then to you beside him. “And this is-you already know my daughter.”
“Yes,” she nodded. “quite well. My niece knows her too if you can believe that.”
He laughed a little louder than he should have, and you wanted to crawl under the table and bang your head against the metal support until you split your skull open.
“Oh, and sure, I know you.” Miss Crane nodded to Angus.
“Angus Tully,” he smiled. “we met outside of Dr. Woodrup’s office. I was wrongly accused of blowing up a toilet.”
“Well, I didn’t know about the ‘wrongly’ part. I just know that miss Hunham talks a lot about you when she visits.”
Aaand now you wanted to just take any of the silverware off the table (even the spoon would work) and stab yourself.
“Does she?” He teased.
You were quick with a comeback. “About how ridiculously annoying you are. I was baking cookies and Elise nearly crawled into the oven because the things I said about you were just too horrible for her to hear.”
“Now be nice.” Your father said.
“When have I never?”
The three of you ordered (after another discussion about alcohol and underage drinking with Miss Crane this time), and it did not escape you or Angus how your father’s eyes were still on her even after she left.
“Ouch,” Angus smiled. “you two have chemistry.”
“That’s the Percodan talking.” Your father pointed out.
“I don’t know, seeing her like this, I think she’s pretty attractive.”
You gagged, not even having the will to come up with a good comeback, you were so disgusted. Thankfully, your father had one.
“Listen, you hormonal vulgarian, that woman deserves your respect, not your erotic speculation.”
You never gave it much thought; your father dating women after your mother died. He just never truly seemed that interested in anyone, and he said it himself, he never goes out. Still…while you do want him to be happy, the woman of interest is your best friend’s aunt-.
Angus pursed his lips. “May I at least go to the bathroom? Sir? “
“You mean the payphone?” Even when he saw Angus’ eyes darken, your father still was not stirred. “Jo March, accompany him, please.”
You sighed. “Why do I have to be his keeper?”
“Because I, Pontius Pilate, washed my hands of him, remember?”
With that being said, you walked with Angus over to the bathrooms, and waited outside with your arms crossed like a child being punished. After a few minutes, he came back out, and the first thing you asked was.
“How’d you lie so easily?”
He gave you a look. “When?”
“The hospital.” You clarified. “You came up with a whole story on the spot that was so convincing, you had a nurse wrapped around your finger within a minute.”
Angus shrugged, beginning to walk away. “You were honestly the icing on the cake.”
“Oh, thank you.” You spoke with sarcasm, following him. “But honestly, you-.”
“-Are you any good at pinball?”
Okay mister ‘Trying to Change the Subject’, you’d play this game (literally and figuratively). “Yeah, I think so.”
He grabbed two dimes from his pocket. “Wanna bet?”
“I guarantee you that’s all the money you have, so there’s nothing to bet.”
“Not exactly.” You both wandered over to the machines. “If I win, you owe me something, and vice versa.”
“And if I wanted you to get out of my life?”
“Done and done, but only If you win, which you won’t.” He put the dimes on top of the machine a guy was playing on.
“Sorry, kid. Next game’s taken.” The many said.
Angus furrowed his brow. “But I just put some dimes down.”
“Don’t care. My buddy’s up next.”
“That’s not how it works.”
“That’s how it works in here. Why don’t you go shoot the other fuckin’ machine?”
“Because I don’t want to shoot the other fuckin’ machine.”
You put your hand on his non-injured arm. “Angus, it’s fine.”
Before he could retaliate, the man lost the game, sighing. “Thanks for fuckin’ up my mojo. Kenny! You’re up.”
“Bullshit.” Angus shook his head. “I put my dimes down, so we’re up next.”
“What was that?” You both looked and saw ‘Kenny’, a drunk man with a hook for his right hand. Shit… “Hey, kiddies,” he snapped his fingers at the both of you. “my eyes are up here.”
His friend snorted. “Look at these fucking kids; spoiled little Barton boy and his prissy girlfriend.”
Not the first nor the last time you were a smartass to a man where it will almost get you killed. “I’ll have you know, gentlemen, he is not my boyfriend; he is the reason I hope every day I become an only child.”
“You know what?” Angus stepped in before Kenny could respond. “You can just take my dime.”
“Take it?” He taunted. “You want me to take your dime? Like it’s charity?”
“No, what I mean is, we could play together.” and let this be known that Angus Tully was not always great at thinking on his feet. “Yeah, you could be my left arm.”
“The fuck did you just say to me?!”
Flinching at his tone, you decided to actually use your brain, for once. “Oh my gosh, I think I hear Dad calling us.” You took Angus’ hand without thinking. “Come on Fitzwilliam, you fucked everything up as always.”
You didn’t care that two, pissed off men were following and yelling at you, you didn’t even care that you were holding Angus’ Tully’s hand and having him trip over his own feet as you pulled him back to your table, you just needed to get out of there.
“Papa,” you call out to your father. “can we go please?”
He hummed at your arrival (and the term of endearment, which you only use if something has gone array).  “Why?”
“Our favorite asshole got us in trouble.”
“Hey!” Kenny shouted at you and Angus. “Why’d you run off? We were just talking to you. Do they teach you manners at that school?”
Hook for hand be damned, your fight or flight instincts kicked in when he put his hand on Angus and you were about to be the reason he’d lose it. Then, Miss Crane stepped in.
“Kenneth, leave them alone, they just came in for some food.”
Still, he looked like he was about to charge the both of you.
Your father stepped in next. “Kenneth, is that right? I don’t doubt that he did something to offend you. It’s his specialty. Perhaps I could purchase you gentlemen something to imbibe, and we could let whatever this unfortunate incident is go the way of the dodo.”
“The what?” The first guy playing pinball asked.
“The dodo,” Angus said. “it’s an extinct bird.”
“What he’s trying to say is,” Miss Crane translated. “he wants to buy you guys a beer.”
It didn’t take long for the two men to consider it. Kenny nodded. “Yeah, okay.”
“Same here.” His friend agreed. “I’ll have a Miller.”
“The champagne of beers.” Angus smiled, nodding.
It was when everything final cooled down, and as the two men and Miss Crane left to get their drinks, did you notice you were still holding Angus’ hand. Which you let go of as if you were holding fire in the palm of your hand.
He went back to his moody self after that, as you were walking back to the car after finishing dinner (no connection of course).
“Why’d you buy those guys beer? They’re assholes.”
Your father shrugged. “That’s one way to look at it. Here, catch.”
He tossed him the keys, which he caught. Your father continued his lecture, walking ahead of both of you.  “How many boys do you know who have had their hands blown off? Barton boys don’t go to Vietnam. They go to Yale or Dartmouth or Cornell, whether they deserve to or not.”
Angus glanced at you. “Except for Curtis Lamb.”
“Except for Curtis Lamb.” Your father repeated his words when they stood outside the car.
“Were you ever in the military?”
“Yes, I tried to enlist in ‘41, but was rejected-I have to get in over there.” He said after failing to open the door on the driver’s side. He walked over to the passenger’s (which you begrudgingly allowed Angus to have this time) side that Angus unlocked. “They made me an air raid warden. Gave me a whistle and everything. Helmet. Arm band.”
You opened the back door and slid into the seats, but Angus stayed outside, asking. “Before we get going, can I be candid with you?”
Your father already was used to that question from you, so he didn’t even look scared when he hummed his approval.
“You smell.” He got into the car. “And it’s really noticeable toward the end of the day. I even smell it on your coat. Mind if I crack the window?”
He didn’t even wait for his response before rolling the window down anyway. Before you could say something snarky to defend your father, he spoke first. “Trimethylaminuria.”
Angus furrowed his brow. “Huh?”
“Trimethylaminuria.” He repeated. “Means my body can’t break down trimethylamine. That’s the smell. And uh, yes, more toward the end of the day.”
“Wow…your whole life?”
Your father nodded.
“No wonder you’re afraid of women.” Angus said your name, glancing back at you. “How did he marry your mom?”
Your jaw dropped, and only inaudible noises came out at first before you settled on. “I’m too sober for that conversation.”
“For the record,” Your dad interrupted, stunned. “I am not afraid of women, and you shouldn’t be asking a girl personal questions after insulting her father. Jesus.”
Angus nodded. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything. Dr. Getler says I should give more consideration to my audience.”
“Who’s Dr. Getler?” You asked.
“My shrink.”
Your father decided to jump in. “Has Dr. Gertler ever tried a good swift kick in the ass?
He scoffed. “Okay, now your turn. Go ahead, tell me something about me. Something negative.”
“Something negative about you?”
“Sure, just one thing.”
“Just one?” You and your father questioned.
He nodded, preparing for the absolute worst, but it never came. Your father merely turned back to the front, started the car, and began to make the long drive back to Barton. You weren’t even out of the neighborhood when Angus then asked.
“Fitzwilliam?” He looked at you. “What kind of name is that?”
Your father snickered. “That’s what you called him?”
You shrugged. “The guys thought he was a stuck-up rich boy, but he’s really awkward and looks like he wants to kill himself every time someone looks at him, I had to.”
“He strikes me more as a Hamlet.”
To anyone who didn’t know anything about Shakespeare, that would be a compliment. To you and your father specifically, it made you laugh. Of course Angus Tully would be one of the most overdramatic characters in theatre.
“Seriously,” the boy in question said tiredly. “who the hell is Fitzwilliam?”
Your father shook his head. “My advice, Mr. Tully? Brush up on the classics; Pride and Prejudice would be a good place to start.”
Tumblr media
None of you had the strength to do much more that night besides spending time in your rooms before bed. It was as you were a few chapters into Little Women, did you wonder.
“Why were you and my dad yelling at each other this afternoon?”
Angus looked up from his copy of Popular Mechanics to see you in the doorway once you asked that question. You both were both just wearing your pajamas and socks; outfits you had only seen each other in for either a short number of times, in dimmed lighting, or with jackets over.
It felt different this time…stranger, even.
“Hello to you too.” He greeted, setting the magazine down.
“Well?”
Pursing his lips, he didn’t look at you at first before saying. “I was calling a hotel.”
“Your mom’s?”
“No, one in Boston.”
“Why would you…?” The look on his face said it all. That look of regret and pity that you didn’t understand what he meant right away. “Oh…”
You wanted nothing more than to have said it with disgust, but it was disappointment that laced the word. Then, with a mix of anger and even hurt.
“Am I that insufferable to be around?”
He shot his head up. “What? No.”
“Seems like it.” You scoffed, beginning to pace around the room. “What happened to ‘Friends of some sort’? I asked you if we were fine because I felt like you’d gone quiet, and you said we were. I get it; you asked me to tell you the craziest thing that happened to me, and I should’ve just said ‘I got slightly drunk at a party’, not everything. You barely tell me anything about yourself, and then I just go and throw out the shittiest things that have happened to me. It’s not fair, and I’m sorry-.”
“-My father’s dead.”
Nothing could’ve gotten you to shut up faster.
It caused you such a shock, that you sat down on the bed beside him, staring at him. His gaze changed in a matter of seconds; when he first told you and you looked at him, you’d never seen anyone surer. Then, as shock settled into you, discomfort did for him. You let the quietness between you linger for a moment, terrified of your own response.
“I…I had a feeling.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
You were expecting him to immediately respond, but he didn’t. You debated on just sitting in the silence, or crawling back into your room and pretending this didn’t happen, when Angus finally spoke up.
“I was thirteen, he was…really, really sick for some time but then it just happened so fast and…I don’t really like talking about it, I’m sorry-.”
“-No, I shouldn’t have pressured you-.” You relented first, and ff the circumstances weren’t bleak, it would be funny how you both spoke over each other.
“-You weren’t, you told me something about yourself and I should’ve-.”
“-You aren’t in debt or some bullshit to share anything with me-.”
“-I just haven’t really told people that before-.”
“-Your arm wasn’t the worst thing I saw in a hospital.” You decided to break the loop, and it was successful. “My mother was sick too and…” You chuckled, but felt tears prick your eyes all of a sudden at the thought. “God, she’ll haunt me for this, but she was so skinny the last time I saw her…Cancer. She and my dad were debating on if I should see her like that before she goes, and I won the argument in the end that, yes, I needed to say goodbye. I’m glad I did, no, that’s not what I think of when I think of her but…it scared me. I was eleven.”
He nodded, listening without interruption; a skill that seemed he only acquired during these small moments of vulnerability. Well, you wouldn’t necessarily call yourself vulnerable; you were merely answering his questions truthfully based on your experiences (of course; no vulnerability whatsoever. You didn’t open yourself up to others outside of your father and Mary, why would you to Angus Tully?)
“I went to the chapel before anyone else woke up and I just couldn’t stop staring at the picture of Curtis Lamb…I can’t even say it got me thinking about death or anything like that I just…I don’t know.” He shook his head. “I felt weird and wanted to run away.”
“I get that.”
“I’m sorry for trying to get a hotel by the way,” he apologized again. “if that matters.”
You gave him a smile. “It does.”
For the first time in a while, you thought you saw him smile too; a genuine one, mind you, not the shit-eating grin he often gave you and everyone else. It was then you decided to get up and head to bed, bidding him goodnight. Then, again, you stopped in the doorway from another thought.
“What were you going to call me?”
“Huh?” He perked his head up.
“When you were crying about being stuck over here for Christmas?” You alluded. “You and my father are losers, Mary’s a grieving mom, but what am I?”
His eyes drifted in thought, then back to you. “‘Your know-it-all daughter.’ That’s what I was gonna say.”
“Yeah,” you nodded, smiling as you backed out into your room. “I do know all, Angus Tully.”
You couldn’t see his face anymore when you went to your bed, but you heard his sarcastic ‘Goodnight’ with him saying your full name, and your chest felt lighter than it did the night prior to talking with him.
…What the hell was happening to you?
You were giddy, you giggled to yourself about nothing and had to hide your mouth under the blanket so Angus wouldn’t hear you in the other room. For a moment, when asking him what he would’ve called you, you wanted him to say ‘pretty’. So much shit happened that day, but the one thing, the one thing that your mind goes back to is taking his hand, and not letting go until you realized-…
…No…
No…
Oh, what the fuck?!
Oh god!
Once you were happy about having a newfound crush on Angus Tully, and now you were in absolute agony.
What a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve-Eve.

Tumblr media
You’ve tried again and again to get Ellie to talk to you.
She just won’t, she’s blocked your number, has avoided you through campus, and it almost feels like before you knew Ellie.
She just hardly made an acknowledgment she even fucking existed. And that you hated.
Because now since Ellie’s entered your life, picturing her not in it seemed impossible.
And it’s been only a week since Ellie saw you swapping spit with someone you assured her was just your “friend”.
And you genuinely feel like you’re going crazy.
Because if you can’t last a week without her, you don’t know how you’re going to last any longer. It just fucking sucked.
You wanted everything to just sink into the ground and forget any of this happened.
You especially wanted to forget everything that happened with Emily.
Despite you saying you were going to talk to Emily you haven’t got around to it.
Not because you didn’t want to, but the night after the party she had family stuff she had to do. It was planned before everything between the two of you happened, so it couldn’t be avoided.
At least that’s what she’s been telling you.
You’ve texted her a lot, it feels like a parallel with you and Ellie almost, you guys both haven’t discussed what you are, or what is even happening between you two but again it seems oddly romantic.
And that’s just through texting.
Another thing that you’ve been blocking is what happened the night of the party. The one where you and Emily kissed. The drive home was almost silent. Just you and Emily reminiscing in silence both trying to figure out what the fuck happened.
But what unfolded once you reached inside the comforts and privacy of the sorority was something you could have probably gone without.
Because not only did you and Emily kiss once you reached inside, but it resulted in you waking up in her bed.
So yeah. You fucked up.
You’re whole life seems like it’s been thrown for a curveball and you’re just desperately trying to have it be stable.
You don’t know what you want right now.
Or more so who you want.
Emily’s been there for so long of your life, and do you really want to break that simply because you can’t choose between her or Ellie.
No..
You just can’t wrap your head around why it felt like the kiss between you two was something that had to happen, rather than you wanting it to happen. The same when you guys slept together.
Every time you kissed Ellie you didn’t once feel obligated.
So with that knowledge the answer should be easy?
With one person you feel forced, and compelled, and with the second person it feels almost natural.
Fuck if only it was that easy.
After thinking for a solid 5 seconds you decided to make a split decision, that sulking in bed for any longer then you already had wasn’t going to settle anything.
So you groaned as you lifted your body getting a good glance at your bedroom.
Ellie’s skateboard.
Right! She left it in your car after that night.
All you have to do is give it back? You know where her dorm is.
That can give you two a proper chance of actually talking, no Emily, no one near you two. Just you and Ellie.
All you can hope is that she’ll hear you out. That’s all you need.
Tumblr media
So that’s what you did.
You put on some clothes looking a bit overly dressed for a simple return of a skateboard but you wanted to look nice…for yourself..?
Because this really isn’t about Ellie finding you attractive it’s about her forgiving you, maybe even rebuilding a possible friendship.
At least that’s what you hoped.
Because as soon as you got out of your car 10 minutes off campus you see the student dorms.
It’s been a little bit since you’ve been to Ellie’s dorm but you had it memorized. So it really didn’t take long.
Because soon you were faced with her door.
It should be as simple as just knocking, but you’re choked up.
Which is weird because you never usually feel yourself get extremely nervous, while interacting with a girl.
But It’s not really just a girl.
It’s Ellie.
You look at her skateboard and quickly remind as to why you’re actually here.
And with that you knock.
It didn’t take long till you were hearing a trail of footsteps coming from the opposite side of the door.
A voice who’s is not Ellie’s saying “I’ll get it El..”
Fuck- fuck is she with a girl right now?
Now you’re wondering why you even came here because is Ellie hooking up with someone? and your looking fucking desperate on the other end with a stupid skateboard and a shitty apology.
But no. Ellie wasn’t hooking up with someone.
It was just Dina.
Dina was the first to hear about what transpired that night. She knows because Ellie called her immediately after the matter.
She was sobbing and her voice was incoherent.
Just a shit ton of hiccups and desperate attempts to get back air she was losing due to your actions. She was really on the brim of a full blown panic attack but some how she managed to keep that factor under wraps.
Dina pulled up a good 5 minutes after, she wasn’t stupid and knew something happened, but she just didn’t except the site which she pulled up on.
Ellie was sitting on the edge of the sidewalk head deep in her palms fully sobbing.
She hated how she was crying because of you.
It made her feel dumb that you got her in a position that resembled a toddler getting told no.
Either way once she felt a hand on her shoulder and Dina’s voice coming through soft she knew it was over.
Because then more tears were coming through and she stood up with the intent to get into Dina’s car. Try to ignore the awkward question.
Basically just not trying to talk or let the thought of you flow freely through her mind any longer.
“Ellie..?” Dina hugs her softly.
Ellie’s arms wrap out Dina instantly and her head goes deep in her shoulder.
A attempt to hide the fact she was bawling. Which was not thought through, yet did give Ellie comfort.
“What happened.” Dina says pulling back to wipe Ellie’s tears.
Ellie just shakes her head and let’s out a out of breath. “Her..”
There’s only one “her” Dina thought of and it was you.
And yet she didn’t know the story at that moment it’s all she needed to hear that you were cut out of Ellie’s life.
Because not once in their 10+ years of friendship has she ever seen Ellie like that.
Ellie’s had meltdowns, like literally everyone in her life. But even when Cat broke up with Ellie her girlfriend of a year she didn’t have a reaction like this one.
She didn’t completely understand what you could have done to get Ellie in this position but she knows it has to be bad.
“You need to leave.” Dina says, her eyes seem mad and directed to you.
“I just want to talk.? Please.” You beg out desperately.
“Leave.” Dina shakes her head once again.
“I have her skateboard..” You hold out allowing Dina’s gaze to trail off of you and onto the skateboard.
Dina reaches out her palm. A flat surface so you can easily give it to her.
“D-dina can I just talk to her..?” You ask again. Not yet handing the skateboard to her.
Dina’s wants to laugh in your face, because it’s ironic how you ended up kissing someone, yet you’re outside acting like you could cry.
“Are you fucking joking?” Dina says now stepping out of the dorm shutting the door gently trying not to have Ellie assume somethings happening.
“W-what?” You say.
And now Dina does laugh, making you feel like an idiot for even coming.
“You weren’t the fucking one who picked up Ellie after she saw you!-” Dina emphasized on the you by pushing her finger right in the middle of your collarbone. “Fucking kissing Emily or whatever the fuck her name is!”
“I know-I know I fucked up.” You shake your head.
“Is that supposed to offer comfort?” Dina says.
“But it’s not like that?!” You try, but it goes ignored by Dina.
“Are you trying to justify it or some shit?” Dina says.
“W-what no!” You shake your head really fast.
“I’m not! I know what I did- was insanely fucked up! And if I could take it back I would?” You say.
“Well you can’t.” Dina says.
“Stop trying?” She continues.
“Just leave Ellie alone. It’s over and you made that decision..” Dina sighs out.
You look her up and down. Trying to think of anything so Dina won’t walk out just yet.
“..You block me or her?” You spit out nervously. You really don’t know why you’re asking that. It just feels like you should try to talk as much as you can. Maybe Dina will see you actually do care.
“Does it matter?” Dina rubs her hand down her face, a result of being annoyed by you.
“Yeah?” You look up at her.
“Me.” Dina says shaking her head.
“You’re not good for her.” Dina says looking at you.
“I’ve never seen Ellie like that before.” Dina try’s to explain.
She doesn’t like you, or thinks you deserve any sort of explanation, but she thinks you do deserve to realize how much you actually did hurt Ellie.
“As in.?” You questioned.
“It doesn’t matter.” Dina shakes her head slowly going back to Ellie’s dorm door.
“It does!?” You say desperately. About to get another word out.
But both of you gazes are turned at the door when you hear a click signalling it opened.
Ellie has a grey hoodie and baggy jeans on. Her eyes are red.
You know she’s been crying.
Before seeing you in front of Dina’s body she talks. “Dina why are you just fucking out her-“
Ellie gets her voice cut off because she’s looking at you.
Her frown comes back, and her eyes are glossy once again.
You don’t say anything, neither does Dina, and obviously Ellie.
So now the whole hallway is filled with a shit ton of awkward silence..
Dina decides to break it first.
“I was just sending her off.” Dina says turning to look at Ellie.
Ellie hardly responds her gaze pierced on the floor. “Ah..”
“Can we talk?” You say and Dina sighs, she knows Ellie’s going to say yes..
Ever since Ellie sobered up and her anger partially subsided she wanted to reach out to you first.
Dina told her nothing good is going to come from it, and since your number was now blocked on Ellie’s phone she couldn’t really so much.
Dina’s been glued to Ellie’s side so it made it impossible to even see you.
“Yeah.” Ellie immediately responds before looking at Dina.
“I’ll be fine.” She offers a comforting smile.
Dina groans but nods, she knows she can’t fight it. Because Ellie seems to stick to things when her minds focused on it.
So she complied telling Ellie she’ll grab the two of them some food.
And soon you’re in Ellie’s dorm, somewhere where you haven’t been in about 2 weeks.
“S-sorry it’s messy.” Ellie finally pulls down her hood sitting on the edge of her single bed..
“It-it’s fine really..”
Ellie out of nervousness subconsciously start’s fidgeting with her two fingers before spitting out some that feels like fire on her tongue.
“Are you and Emily dating..” Ellie clears her throat as tears again are brewing.
“No.” You say fast shaking you head.
As you feel a singular tear fall down your left cheek you wipe it off. Ellie notices and looks at you.
“I-I don’t even know why I kissed her.” You say.
Ellie doesn’t know what to say. She doesn’t want to forgive you, she just doesn’t really want to see you crying, despite the state you had her in a week ago.
“Okay..” Ellie says.
“I don’t know what you want me to do with that information.” It came out cold, but right now she couldn’t act like she was happy.
“I’m not waiting for you to fucking figure out who you want.” Ellie says having you quickly cut her off.
“It’s not like that?” You shake your head.
“Mhm..” Ellie sighs.
“Did you guys-“ Ellie starts but you cut her off.
“Ellie?..” You don’t want to answer it, because the only thing you could reply with would be the truth. That being yes.
“It’s literally a yes or no question.” Ellie presses.
But when no response comes from you, she got her answer.
“Dina was right- you should just leave.”
“Ellie-“ You sigh out.
“No you need to leave.” She says standing up. Clearly her throat so her voice appears as more full.
“I-I can’t..” You say looking at her also standing up.
“Please just leave.” Ellie looks down now tearing up. Her walls feel like their crumbling all over again. The last thing she wants to do is cry in front of you.
You hesitantly move your hand to her cheek.
Ellie’s eyes close and she leans into your touch.
“Do you like me.” Ellie ask.
“Yes..” You say not hesitating.
“Do you like her.” Ellie ask.
“Ellie she’s my best friend.” You say.
Ellie sighs and pulls back opening her eyes. The lights again were just turned on. “Yeah well she clearly fucking loves you?”
Ellie feels like she’s growing crazy the more she talks to you. It’s like everyone but you sees it.
“Dina’s my best friend and i’ve never wanted to make out with her?! Fuck let alone sleep with her!?” She says.
“You don’t get it Ellie!” You yell.
“Then fucking explaining dude!” Ellie yells back.
“Am I a fucking joke to you?” Ellie ask.
“What..” You say looking at her.
“Am I a FUCKING joke.” Ellie yells right in your face. Something that you’re unfortunately getting used to..
Neither of you willing to admit that yelling about it isn’t going to fix shit.
After a long pause you finally talk.
“Would you be my friend if I hypothetically started dating Emily.” You say it like your tired. And to be fair you are.
Ellie doesn’t respond, she just looks down embarrassed. Her anger fading.
Because no.
She wouldn’t be.
And you know she wouldn’t be. Just by the fact Ellie’s eyes can’t meet yours and her teeth are slotted in her bottom lip are a clear sign she wouldn’t be.
Her mannerisms made that clear.
“Exactly.” You say.
“I doubt Emily would want to be friends either.” You clear your throat.
Ellie looks at you.
She doesn’t know what to do, because now she’s currently feeling multiple emotions. It feels like everything is flowing through her mind and she can’t control it.
That she hates.
Because she doesn’t like feeling anger when she looks at you. It’s shitty.
So she takes a step forward and literally just hugs you.
You instantly wrap your arms around Ellie falling into her embrace which grants you in warmth. It’s been a bit since you’ve guys been physical but it wasn’t off.
I guess something you didn’t anticipate is the light kiss on your forehead which followed. But either way you didn’t mention it. It’s literally only been a week and before everything went down with Emily you and Ellie were obviously often being physically. That including kissing.
So even though she hasn’t kissed you in awhile the kiss to your head wasn’t shocking.
“I would never make you pick.” Ellie sighs pulling back.
“Y-you know that.” Ellie smiles lightly. It’s more to comfort you. Because even though she doesn’t want to make you pick she doesn’t want to face you with someone else.
“I just- I don’t think I could be your friend if you dated her.” She looks down.
“And that’s not even fucking supposed to persuade you. I just- like couldn’t.” Ellie says her arms still wrapped around you.
Yours eyes met and it feels again like you again, have a decision. She moves her hand to your cheek and tucks a strand behind your ear.
Ellie’s eyes glance to your lips and she internally leans in.
You also lean in.
You don’t really know who kissed who. But once your lips met the two of you both started making out hungrily.
There was little pants as Ellie’s lips moved to the side of your lips, meeting your jaw, then neck. She sucks accompanied with a bite which is going to leave a mark. You know that and she does too, that reason being Emily, she’s the only reason why she even felt the need to leave a hickey..
She wanted it to be known.
“Fuck..” Ellie pants out moving the both of you to the bed sliding off her hoodie in the process.
It doesn’t take long till Ellie’s pressed on top of you refusing to break the kiss.
Her hands slip on the hoodie out of pure nervousness but she eventually gets it off.
It leaves her in just her sports bra while she’s desperately trying not to break the kiss between you two.
Your hands hastily find Ellie’s jean button and you don’t waste time to unbutton them..
While her jean button is getting undone her hands go under your shirt squeezing your boobs, again still not breaking the kiss.
It happened fast, because the moment went from making out to your hand inside Ellie’s jeans cuffing Ellie’s pussy.
As you’re rubbing light circles on Ellie’s clit feeling the wetness through her boxers there’s a consecutive number of knocks.
Ellie’s whole face turns red and she starts to pull back from you as your remove you hand from her jeans.
You guys are both just silently looking at each other wondering if there really was a knock. Or if it was your mind playing tri-
There’s another knock and Dina’s voice talks. “Yo- can one of you grab the door my hands are full”
Ellie scrambles and helps you off the bed first before standing up and buckling back up her jeans.
She watches you slowly walk to the door straightening you clothes in the process.
As you walk to her dorm door you see Ellie’s now back in her grey hoodie giving a signal you can open the door.
Even though you can you hesitate having your hand shadow the door handle, hesitating to open it.
But after swallowing a big chunk of air you do. You see Dina’s gaze travel back and forth between you and Ellie.
Based on Ellie’s flushed cheeks, and how she’s purposefully avoiding Dina’s gaze, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that’s the fuck was happening.
Or what was going to happen?
“You two were gonna fuck!” Dina accuses putting the food on Ellie’s studying table.
“W-what no!” Ellie shakes her head nervously.
“W-we weren’t!” Ellie talks.
“I was gone for like 13 minutes??” Dina then turns to look directly at you.
“Fuck Ellie you fold so fast?” Dina groans.
“No I don’t??” Ellie says embarrassed walking towards Dina falling right beside you.
“Yeah sure you don’t?” Dina looks back at Ellie rolling her eyes.
“So you two didn’t kiss?” Dina questions tilting her head.
Ellie just groans and grabs your hand out of instinct, again like always she doesn’t really think. She just does it.
“You’re so weird?.” Ellie sighs.
Dina nods and rolls her eyes. “You two literally were about to fuck after I was gone for like 5 minutes, but you know! i’m weird..” Dina mutters.
“We weren’t!” Ellie says putting her head in her free hand.
Tumblr media
Emily was coming back to the sorority today. And you were nervous.
And if you’re being honest with yourself that was an understatement, you didn’t know what the fuck to do.
It was late and you’ve been staring at your ceiling for what feels like a few hours.
After you and Ellie kissed, you decided to stay the night. Where you guys did end up sleeping together..
And the rest of that night was filled with kissing, cuddling, staying in each others arms all night, and a few hickeys which you now needed to cover.
But then again after that moment with Ellie it became ultimately clear that with Ellie it wasn’t forced..
And with Emily it was.
You hated yourself for feeling that way and there’s a part of you that wishes maybe those feelings could be reciprocated.
Because then everything would be easy.
But no.
You’ve only ever seen Emily as a friend.
And that’s something you had to face.
So when you hear the door open and the other girls greeting Emily you knew she was back.
And you knew you had to talk to her,
As much as you wanted to run away.
You had to..You had to face an awkward ass conversation.
So reluctantly that’s what you did, you turned over getting off your bed, putting on some makeup to cover the few hickeys, and sucked up any nervous feelings, making your way down the stairs.
It didn’t take long till your eyes meeting blue ones.
That’s when the guilt struck. Because you haven’t told Emily what the fuck happened while she was gone, and it’s dawning that you again led another person on. It was Ellie first and now her.
Emily smiles and walks to the end of the stairs where you were coming down.
“Hey!” Emily says hugging you.
“Hi..!” You’re arms wrapped around Emily as she hug you, the thing was you couldn’t hide that your voice was off. Having Emily pick up on it.
Like she always done.
“What’s up.?” Emily uses one hand to cuff your cheek.
“Can we talk.” You clear your throat.
Emily nods and smiles trying to cover her nervousness.
She didn’t understand what could have happened to have you want to talk to her immediately?
“Yeah..course..!” Emily frowns then covers it quickly plastering on an obvious fake smile.
Which you ignored.
With that you and Emily trail to your bedroom.
Once the door is closed Emily sits on your bed and you’re nervously looking down on her.
“W-what’s up?” Emily says.
You look at her for a few seconds. You don’t know how to say it? How to tell her that just a few days after you left you and Ellie kissed? Then slept together.
“I-Em i’m so sorry..” You tear up.
“What..?” Emily frowns again.
Emily stands up and holds your cheeks.
She’s obviously still oblivious, she’s not sure what could have happened to have to freak out so fast?
“What happened..” Emily kisses your nose.
You close your eyes and finally spit out the words that were longing on your tongue..
“Emily me and Ellie we-“
Emily doesn’t even let you finish you sentence before she pulls back.
“Emily..” You reach out and she looks at her.
“I’m not doing this..anymore.” Emily shakes her head tearing up.
You look at her. “Emily you know I love you so much” You nod.
“I just-“ You try to talk.
“You love Ellie..don’t you?” Emily shakes her head running her hand down her face.
“I-I don’t kn-“ You can’t spit it out.
“You guys deserve each other. Don’t worry. You really do.” Emily puts on a fake smile before clearing her throat.
“I’m not gonna fucking beg for your love anymore.” Emily says.
“Emily-“ You try but she just shakes her head.
“It’s fine really.” Emily nods.
“You’ve never begging for my love?” You say again stepping forward which just leads her to step back once again.
“I do love you- you’re my best friend.” You wipes you own tears.
“Exactly!- you don’t fucking..you don’t see me like that. So i’m done” Emily says her voice choking up in the middle.
And it’s true, she was done. She was done.
So now you’re just alone with your thoughts, finally letting it dawn on you what the fuck has happened..
You lost Emily.
The girl who you’ve known for years, left your room on the brink of tears and now it’s starting to feel like you just permanently closed a chapter.
Now no longer being able to open it.
You don’t know what to do. And to be honest that really scares you.
You go back and forth between a decision for a few seconds..
You finally grab your phone out of your pocket, shaky hands and nervousness coursing through your body.
You hesitate to click Ellie’s contact but you do.
Right now you only have one person and that’s her.
Emily was a person you could always go to. whether it be serious or stupid she was always there.
But this time it was about her? And you didn’t know how to handle it without any reassurance.
Leaving Ellie as the next option.
It rang for a few seconds before Ellie’s voice came through. She sounds like she’s been sleeping since you notice a rasp and tired tone.
“Hi?” Ellie says yawning.
“Hi.” Your tone is shaking and you sound like your about to cry. Ellie notices that.
“What’s up?” You can already hear sounds of Ellie standing up probably deciding whether or not you need help or something.
“Where you at?” Ellie questions.
“I’m okay- just wanted to talk?” You don’t want her to go out of her way to come all the way to the sorority.
Ellie didn’t have a car and it was late. You didn’t want her outside.
“Yeah we can talk when I get there? You just home.?” Ellie ask as you hear shuffles only assuming she was putting on her shoes.
“Ellie-“ You sigh choking back a shit ton of tears.
Even though you didn’t explicitly tell Ellie that you’re home she assumed. She could hear a few girls in the background talking so she just took that as a sign.
Ellie talks again. Opening her dorm room door. “It’s okay i’ll be over in like 10 minutes bab-“
Ellie hung up before she could even finish her sentence and now you’re again left with your thoughts.
And that’s when you finally come to the conclusion.
You’re 100% the problem.
You’ve taken Emily and Ellie’s feelings for granted and it’s showing.
You lost Emily and you’re not exactly sure why Ellie sticks around. It doesn’t feel fair to hold both of them by a thread and it was proven when Emily’s broke.
Now it was only time till Ellie’s did.
At least that’s what you were starting to believe.
Tumblr media
“Baby..” Ellie sighs leaning into hug you. Putting her skateboard to the side.
You can only respond by hugging her back tears now starting to fall.
“What happened?” Ellie ask pulling back and wiping your tears accompanied with light kisses to the nose.
“Emily..you don’t have to worry about her anymore-“ You clear your and rub your eyes.
“I don’t think we’re friends anymore.” You say trying to plaster a fake smile. Causing Ellie to frown.
Ellie could honestly care less if Emily left, it’s the state that she sees your left in which hurts.
Your hands are shaking when they wrap around her, tears are flowing, and the confident tone she can distinct you for, is gone?
It feels like you’re leaving her, pushing back.
“I’m so sorry-“ Ellie try’s but you wave your hand dismissively.
“No-it’s fine. Really.” You say.
“Why’d she leave.” Ellie ask.
“I told her we-“ You start.
Ellie cuts you off with yet another hug. You can feel her shake her head on your shoulder.
She doesn’t need an explanation. She can use context clues to understand why Emily decided to leave.
But that’s when you finally spit it out.
What’s been going through your mind.
“I can’t do this Ellie.”
You look straight at her.
“What do you mean you can’t do this..?” Ellie now ask.
“You need someone who is good for you. Dina said it and she was right..i’m not good for you?..” You say.
“You can’t be serious.” Ellie looks straight at you.
“What-?” You breathlessly sigh.
“I’m not doing this with you again?” Ellie shakes her head.
And when she said that, you assumed she’d leave. Ending two relationships you had in just one night.
Even though on the contrary it seemed like this would be the worst thing to ever happen for you it gave comfort.
Because with no one around you can’t hurt anyone else…hypothetically at least..?
But Ellie doesn’t leave she just keeps going, and now it feels like her mouth and thoughts might just not stop.
Like she can’t control it.
“Why-why can’t you just understand I don’t fucking want anyone else?” Ellie’s at this point was begging.
Begging for you to understand.
“I’ll leave you alone- if you really do want me too.” Ellie says.
“But since we kissed it’s like the only thing I think about.” She needs you to get that she doesn’t want someone else.
She just wants you.
It’s the reason she’s been going through thick and thin for you. She just needs you to understand.
“I love you..?” It sounded more like a question then a statement.
Because Ellie hesitated to say it even though she meant it.
Plus it being the first time Ellie had ever said that to you made the whole situation all that more intense.
Because you don’t know if you can mentally accept the fact you just might love her back.
So you just look at her.
And now Ellie’s embarrassed.
Because never would she ever want you to feel forced to say it? I guess that’s why it hurt when you didn’t say it back.
Because if you’re not forced and you seemed to have no interest in saying it. You really didn’t love her the way she loved you. That hurt?
Because it put into reality you and Ellie truly weren’t on the same page.
That maybe she was imagining it-
Ellie probably didn’t notice that you conflicted gaze turned more into a determined one as she spaced out.
Because..
Your lips are suddenly on Ellie’s.
Ellie can only respond by pushing her lips hardly back on yours holding you cheeks not leaving room for her to pull back.
And with that, you finally something that’s been longing.
“I love you too.” You say into her mouth.
That’s all Ellie needed to hear to realize it wasn’t some fling.
You loved her.
And she wasn’t letting that go.
Tumblr media
A/N -> I KNOW THIS IS BAD.
I DONT WANNA TALK ABT IT.
I literally had zero fucking clue how to end this shit so everything happens extremely fast.
(mainly because I was making the plot as I got to it! 🌚)
BUT! I was gonna do a sad ending where the reader ends up alone so be happy I didn’t stick with that. 🙂
Honestly I was just trying to close off this story so I can put my main focus on Fated Hearts Start With Fire since I have SOO much planned with that 🙏
But I hope you guys enjoyed reading because despite it being ass it is the last one for this series.
(Like and reblogs are always appreciated!)

WHAT YOU WON'T DO FOR LOVE (WYWDFL) — THREE
Tumblr media
YOU couldn't be having a worse halloween night. choose your fate with your fellow readers and see if it gets better!
chapter two — chapter four
soulmate!wanderer x gn!reader
I need to run, like yesterday.
That was the only thought that multiplied in your mind, similar to a bird attempting to flock to their kin yet again. Your thought immediately shredded into tiny ribboned fabric and sawdust, scrambled and incoherent to you, no matter how much you attempted to find it.
Those footsteps were coming for you, no matter how close, no matter how far. Over something you thought you'd only see on TV, at that. Didn't even think murder was real until now. Your heart remained in your throat...until your fight or flight propelled you.
Your chest ached in uncertainty, not being able to breath as deeply as you needed to, too afraid of being caught, but not afraid enough to spot your next opening. Or to be more accurate, the opening in the bushes and greenery that lead back to your (probably compromised) apartment.
Who the fuck's idea was this to even "check out what was going on"? Oh...wait.
You propelled yourself off the wall to give yourself a boost in your sprint towards the bushes. Adrenaline took your body and shot within your veins like a bullet, legs stretching distances you didn't even think you could do before. The air of the night was thick to you, every sound was amplified in your ears— the rustle of leaves, the distant hum of the nearby city, and the brutal pounding of your own heartbeat urging you to just run.
Branches and thorns scraped against your skin as you dove into the nature, dense foliage closing around your costume like protective cocoon and also shredding some of the fabric that you wore. Making a swift turn, you ducked your whole body beneath the low rising canopy of the trees, loose material making small rips with each movement as some of the branches even scraped your face.. You couldn't mind it; you didn't dare stop.
Making a swift turn, you ducked your whole body beneath the low rising canopy of the trees.
Finally breaking out of the trees, the glare of the saturated orange street light broke your vision and you managed to find yourself staggering after the panic. You sucked in deep and uneven breaths, each one feeling like fire in your lungs. You wheezed, the pavement under your feet was a stark contrast to the pinching and piercing of the environment.
You held onto the light pole of the lamp post for dear life, trying to keep yourself on your feet. "Oooh," You groaned, wincing. "Shit..." You hissed in pain.
Glancing back, your heart moved with an uneven rhythm, urging you to keep moving. The quietness stretched far, which make you uneasy. It was dead quiet in the little suburban street stretching ahead, eerily still, the only sound was your manual breathing as you turned your head to look back.
Maybe he didn't see you after all?
You took this opportunity to remove all of the accessories that weren't completely ripped off your body, groaning at the dull ache that already surrounded your ankles from the stupid plastic/foam leggings you decided to wear with the costume as a joke. Wasn't very funny anymore, was it? The edges completely stabbed into your ankles when you were running, causing an open wound you had no choice but to limp on.
Starting your travels back home again, you walked, or rather limped across the parking lot of this permanently closed restaurant you used to go to all the time with Yoimiya. The breeze picked up rapidly, an icy whisper dragging against your bare skin in its undertones and leaving you chills on your body.
Sure enough, there that guy was. Stood directly under the street light, his cap still pulled down to hide his eyes and the cast of the light of an ominous shadow around him. He stood dead still. Watching you.
You were mortified, looking in disbelief as you stiffened. You didn't even know what to say, or respond with, other than scrambling back and hoping he got the hint that you didn't want issues.
He took long strikes, making your efforts useless. He gave a small and halfhearted laugh at your rigidness. "Relax," His voice smooth and light, void of burden as though he didn't just murk a guy X Games mode and you didn't just watch him. "I won't hurt you."
"You won't?" You said skeptically, a lot louder, and a lot more dull than anticipated. "Uh...could have had me fooled, mister...killer, psycho killer sir. Hey, we can always call truce, ya know? I know a few criminals myself, and uh...know what, let's just grab a bite to eat or something! My tr..eat!"
As he was still approaching you, and you were spluttering every single thought you had in mind to keep you at bay while treading back in a struggle, the breath that you just caught was knocked out of you like the wind. You stumbled back, falling straight on your ass just as he stalked towards you.
"Hm." He was practically stood over her, smiling at the sheer terror on your face. "You're so tense...so weak. I could snap your neck if I really wanted to."
"You...you definitely could, yeah!" You laughed nervously, a frown immediately lodging itself back onto your face after a moment. "Are you..?"
This close, you could see the drips and smears of blood that laced his hands and the side of his face. It made your stomach churn...and then you saw a mark on that same crimson hand.
A familiar mark? You would have elaborated further on that thought if the man didn't continue, "No." His lip twisted a little more. "I just thought of something a lot more fun."
"Like...bouncy-house fun, right?" You stammered. "Like...clown at a birthday party fun? Not my kind of fun, but still...pretty fun!"
"Sure." His voice remained silky, but a lot more sultry than you expected. It was like everything he did was something that he actually really got off to! "Eager to find out already?"
Oh my fucking god, you're in the presence of a necrophiliac, aren't you.

chapter 15: lipstick stains
upon arriving home from the japan trip, you gave perry some extra food whilst telling him how much fun you had as if he was listening to your rambling. traveling is fun and all, but nothing beats the feeling of being able to take a shower in the comfort of your home before climbing into your own bed. really the only downside to coming back from a few days off is the work shifts you have to make up. good thing you had an earlier than usual shift; earlier shifts mean you'll have more free time later in the day when things get really busy.
it was quick for you to doze off considering that you had such an eventful few days and now you were thinking about working. but before you could fully fall asleep, you remembered to text jake. you knew he'd worry if you didn't text him at least once before you went to bed.
Tumblr media
your tummy filled with butterflies from simply texting the guy, so you could only imagine how much more excited you'll be to see him.
an uneasiness crept up on you while you read the texts over and over again.
why did he speak to you as if he's your boyfriend?
why is he always so affectionate?
'whatever, it doesn't matter, i'll just sleep,' you forced yourself to stop thinking about it in order to get to sleep.
--------------------------------------------------------
you woke up at the ripe hour of 3PM in the afternoon which left you with only about an hour and a half to get ready for your shift. springing out of bed, you ran to begin getting ready.
since it was your first day back, you wanted to look extra appealing to the customers because tips are always appreciated, right?
you made sure to put on a bit of makeup to hide the fact that you'd woken up so late, and you headed off to the bar.
the bar had become a bit of an anxiety trigger ever since that girl came around, but you came to realize that she was probably just trying to start some shit because she was most likely bored. you were there to work and nothing else; she just happened to get in your way.
before you could even get to the break room to put your personal belongings in your locker, an excited yeji engulfed you in a tight hug.
"ah, it feels like forever since i last worked a shift with you! innie and i missed you so bad while you were away with your little boyfie in japan!" yeji blabbed excitedly while you two were still hugging, "innie was all sulky because he was stuck with me the whole time ha! you already know how i like to annoy him on purpose."
it made you feel genuine joy to know that your friends were at home waiting for you to come back. you decided to wait until you could all meet up to give them souvenirs that you bought them.
"i never wanna leave you guys again," you remarked as you two broke the hug to begin your shift. yeji nodded in agreement while you guys made sure your outfits were in check before heading out.
the feeling of mixing drinks again felt oddly comforting. after all, it's all you used to do before jake came around; taking care of your customers was something that was important to you because it was once your main source of income. but now that jake was in your life, you didn't have to worry too much about how many tips you made, though it still boosted your confidence to see stacks of cash being given to you.
secretly, you'd been saving up all your tips to get jake a nice gift as a way to thank him for everything. sex was still somewhat a way to 'thank him,' but your heart wanted to make something truly meaningful for some reason. you also didn't want to use jake's money to buy a gift that's for him, so that was a reason to work harder.
your plan was to buy a designer white, long-sleeve button up shirt and make a recreation of the iconic maison margiela kiss-mark shirt. you thought of buying him an original one, but 1. there are only a few in the entire world, and 2. it's a crazy expensive piece of clothing. but it's more personalized and truly one of a kind if you remade it yourself, so you were trying to earn and save as many tips as you possibly could. your backup plan if you didn't have enough money was to make him some sort of baked good that was decorated to say something not-so pg-13 as a little joke. you felt more driven to put even higher quality work into your job because of this. you almost didn't want your shift to end because you were hungry for as many tips you could get. plus, you were having a great workday since no one who's previously messed with you during a shift has shown up.
when the time came for your workday to end, you eagerly walked back into the staff lounge to gather your belongings and head home to count up your money. you hoped and prayed that you could slide by with the money you'd earned.
you wanted to give something, even if it wasn't much, back to him for giving you what you feel you didn't deserve. you always believed that he could put his time, money, and energy into someone or something else, but after he told you that he chose you, you couldn't help but feel guilty for the times you pushed him away, for the times you didn't trust him because you barely trust anyone.
'i want to prove myself to you,' you thought to yourself as you walked to the bus stop, 'i need and want to trust you.'
--------------------------------------------------------
the bus ride felt so long which made you even more antsy to get home, but you were more than happy to hop off the bus and speed-walk to your place.
you barged into your house, locking the door behind you before busting into your room to quickly count up your money. if you had enough, you were immediately going out to get the materials you needed so that you could finish tonight and give him his gift the next day.
your heart beat got faster as you realized that you had more than enough money to get everything you needed for your project and some supplies to bake something for him as well as an extra surprise. letting out an excited squeal, you quickly changed out of your work clothes to speed to the shopping center that was closing in an hour and a half.
--------------------------------------------------------
you swore that your heart rate hadn't slowed down until you got back home from the shops, hands full of everything you needed to begin making your gifts for jake.
you decided to mix the ingredients for a tray of brownies and put it in the oven so that you had enough time to complete the shirt just in time for the brownies to be baked. you managed to quickly get everything in the oven and began prepping the shirt soon after.
laying out the (outrageously overpriced) white gucci long-sleeve button up on the clean counter, you applied a shade of red lipstick that jake had bought you and began meticulously placing gently kiss marks on the top part of the shirt. it was, surprisingly, turning out better than you anticipated. once the lipstick was set, you took out some fabric paint you bought from the store to touch up the kiss marks, afterwards putting paint sealing solution onto all the kiss marks to further protect them.
as if the timing was perfect, you heard the oven beep. you hung the shirt up in your bedroom before placing the warm brownies on the counter to cool down. you couldn't help but smile to yourself as you imagined what jake's reaction may be to your gifts, especially the brownies.
once they were cool enough, you spelt out 'i love ur huge dick' in chocolate letters as a joke. you knew jake would have a good laugh before eating them. placing the finished brownies in a clear plastic container, you put them aside to begin packaging the shirt in a flat box.
there was one last touch to the gift that you'd been meaning to do for a little while.
you dug out a small ring box and placed a spare key to your house inside it. you figured that he deserved to have one considering how much he took care of you. plus, everyone, 'everyone' meaning yeji and jeongin, who you'd trust with your life had one, therefore it'd be fitting if jake had one.
placing the dainty little ring box inside the same box that contained the shirt, you sealed it so it was ready for you to take to his house the next day.
--------------------------------------------------------
the next day came quickly, and you hopped out of bed to gussy up before calling a taxi to head to his place since it'd be quicker to do it that way than if you were to go on the underground train.
you wore a cute, short, pleated white skirt paired with a black and white prada cardigan, white knee-high stockings, and some simple black prada heels to tie the outfit together. you wanted to look pretty for jake since you were showing up to his place unannounced.
the taxi ride to his place was quite long considering that he lived on the opposite side of the city, the city being heavily divided by social class, but it was interesting to look around at the other houses.
finally, you arrived outside the gate of jake's house, typing in the security code that jake gave you to open the gate. now, you had to practically trek across his extravagant front yard and circular driveway just to get to the damn front door. the walk you had to take throughout the front yard felt longer than the taxi ride.
you reached out to ring the doorbell, hearing it echo through the house from outside. since jake's ahem- mansion was quite large, you always expected to wait a minute before he actually came to let you in; it was honestly painfully awkward to just stand there. finally, you heard the door unlock, and you were greeted by a shirtless jake clad in only joggers and a small towel around his nape. you also could help but notice that his hair was now a shade of brown which made you laugh do yourself because of how you made fun of him about doing bald. regardless, his image was making you blush.
"oh, princess," jake said with surprise in his tone, "i didn't expect you to come this early in the day." he smiled sheepishly as he witnessed the shock in your face from seeing him shirtless as if you hadn't seen him in this state a million times. "well, i came early because i brought gifts!" you smiled at jake as he guided you inside, his hand on your lower back. "that reminds me," jake smiled, "i have something for you as well." you couldn't help but become shy at the thought of jake getting you a gift even though he does it literally all the time.
once you got into his main lounge area, you set the clear brownie container and the gift box side by side on his coffee table. jake hovered over the container to read the little message you left on the brownie slab, his giggle turning into his signature laugh. jake moved toward you, hugging you from behind.
"well, if you love it so much, why don't you fuck it?" jake asked you teasingly, gently biting and kissing your neck. "now?" you asked with wide eyes to which jake responded with a hum, the feeling of jake's hard becoming prominent against your back. "if you say so," you shrugged, trying to tease him by seeming nonchalant.
jake moved onto one side of the couch, tossing the towel that was once around his nape onto the table whilst inviting you to sit on his lap.
he pulled you into a messy kiss as you began to grind your hips down hard against his, jake feeling the soft moans you were letting out against his lips.
without breaking the kiss, jake managed to get you out of your clothes, besides your knee high stockings which jake found incredibly sexy, and have you grinding on his bulge. you moved your hands to pull his joggers and boxers off, still as impressed as ever at the sight of his cock. pushing your hips toward him, you took hold of his member and put it against your lower stomach, admiring how deep his cock would be buried inside you. seeing you 'measure' how deep he would be turned him on even more, which he didn't even think was possible considering the fact that he's already fully hard and hot and bothered.
jake quickly lifted your hips, impatient and wanting to be inside you. feeling his thick tip pass through the first few inches of your entrance made you go insane, your walls already tightening around jake's cock. "it barely fits yet you still take every inch so well, princess," jake praised, "now be a good girl and start moving for me, okay?" you nodded in compliance as you gently lifted your hips and collided into his, jake letting out a satisfied groan. jake was so deep inside you that you swore you could feel him all the way in your stomach.
he let you bounce on his cock, adoring how cute you were while moaning as you fell into spells of pleasure. "fuck," you let out a whiny moan, biting your lip gently afterward, "you feel so good, jakey. it's so deep inside me." jake smirked at the way he could feel your thighs gently trembling on top of his, knowing that you were falling apart over his dick.
at this point in time, jake was fully just thinking with his dick which led him to swiftly get up off the couch, still holding you, and begin fucking you while standing up.
your eyes were rolling back as you moaned loudly for him. you were so overtaken by pleasure that you couldn't even let him know that you were about to cum. the feeling of your cum running down jake's hard-on had him fucking you harder, faster. even after all this time, jake's stamina still takes you by surprise. no one could ever do it like jake; he's the only one who could make you go this crazy.
jake soon brought you back to the couch, still not finished with you. he roughly turned you around so that you were facing away from him and made sure you were comfortable before shoving himself back inside you. you let out a loud moan at the sensation before jake began thrusting into you from below, his hands running all over your body yet still keeping you steady at the same time. you, once again, found yourself cumming all over his cock without warning, your orgasm washing over you in waves. "mmm fuck," you whined out, still being stuffed with jake's member, "that feels so good, daddy."
not long after you, jake's orgasm also took over him, hot ropes of cum spurting into you as you tried to catch your breath. it was probably one of the craziest orgasms jake has ever had.
still quietly panting, you let jake pull out so that you could plop down on the couch next to him.
"you're fucking insane, you know that?" you asked with a light laugh once your breathing slowed down. "only because of you, you know that?" jake countered your comment, nudging you on the shoulder playfully before standing up to retrieve some wet wipes from one of the bathrooms so that you two could clean up.
"here, i'll go upstairs and get us some clothes," jake smiled at you as you now tried to hide your body away as if he hasn't seen it a million times already, "if we don't cover up soon, we'll probably end up fucking again." jake joked and let out a laugh, though you both knew his statement was fully true. taking his discarded sweatpants with him, he headed upstairs to his bedroom to fetch some clothes.
you took that time to put your underwear and bra back on before jake came back downstairs. after all, it was kinda starting to feel weird just sitting fully naked in his mansion that had huge windows off to the side from where you were sitting.
soon, jake came back fully dressed and holding out something for you to put on: one of his short-sleeve shirts, a pair of your leggings, and those mid-calf nike socks that you thought were obscurely over priced for just a pack of 4 (but you had to admit that you loved them).
"ah, i forgot your gift," jake sighed as he remembered that he'd left the gift he had for you all the way upstairs, "wait right here, i'm gonna wrap it real nice since it's still up there." he flashed his cheeky yet shy smile, slightly embarrassed that he had 1. forgotten it and 2. hadn't even packaged it yet. "you're silly," you laughed as jake dragged his socks on the marble floors to get back over to the stairs.
you took it upon yourself to get up and go place your gifts for jake over on the kitchen counter since the brownies seemed out of place just sitting on the coffee table. picking up the brownie container and gift box, you headed over to the kitchen to place them both on the counter.
glancing off to the side, you noticed two glass cups next to each other. of course, you wouldn't have thought much of it because why would you, but you couldn't help but notice that one of the cups' rims had faint traces of red lipstick on it.
suddenly, your stomach felt sick. you couldn't tell if you were upset or angry. all you knew was that you wanted to get the hell out of his house.
you sped over to the coffee table, swiftly retrieving your bag and walking into the foyer where you put on a pair of sneakers, that you usually left at his house, and walked out the door.
you didn't slam his door per se, but you closed the door loud enough to make it known that you were leaving.
quickly, you dashed down his driveway and front yard, making it outside of the gate before hailing a cab to take you home.
it took everything in your power to not start crying in the taxi, your phone now ringing off the hook with multiple calls and texts from jake wondering where the hell you ran off to.
--------------------------------------------------------
"yeah, and n-now i f-feel h-horrible," you blubbered to yeji over the phone after explaining the situation and how you made the gift yourself only to be confronted by lipstick stains from someone else, "i literally d-don't even w-wanna think about h-him. god, i could puke right n-now." you sniffled loudly and blowed your nose into a tissue. "my sweet y/n," yeji sighed softly, genuinely feeling for you, "i know, i know, let it all out. heck, you could even scream at me if you want to. but seriously, he's such a jerk for that." yeji continued to listen to all the little things you had to say whilst she tried her best to cheer you up.
yeji was really the only other girl you had in your life besides literally yourself. you knew that you couldn't lean on any other woman for issues like this; especially not your mom for because she's on another level of asshole-ness, you didn't talk to your siblings either, your sisters in specific who you could really use right now, at all, so without yeji, you'd probably be doomed when it came to stuff like this.
"honestly," you sniffled, "...i feel like smoking weed right now." yeji couldn't help but chuckle at you. "go ahead, girl, just be safe or you'll get it from me" yeji joked from the other line, "anyways, you know exactly who to call for that stuff."
after hanging up the phone with yeji, you went straight to your contacts, calling someone else up while trying your hardest to avoid all of the missed calls and texts from jake.

"hey, yeonjun."
--------------------------------------------------------
knock, knock, knock.
you sprung up from your bed upon hearing the knocks at the door.
looks like yeonjun is finally here.
you opened the door and were greeted by his sly smile as usual.
you offered him to stay the night since you two would be getting high together, and you didn't want him driving home whilst not being sober. he, of course, jumped at the opportunity.
"hey, it's been a little while," you laughed quietly as he pulled you into a hug, "thanks for showing up on such short notice."
"oh, it's no problem, really," yeonjun shrugged with a chuckle, "now that university is over, i have nothing else to do."
you led him over to your room so that he could set his bag down and get everything ready. he made sure to bring some food over as well since weed tends to make you hungry. yeonjun may seem like the type of guy to just go over to a girl's house and not think about anything but getting some action, but he cared deep down.
both of you sat on the couch, and yeonjun got everything ready for you two to start smoking.
you let him take the first hit, watching him inhale deeply before letting the smoke pass through his pretty lips.
they weren't as pretty as jake's, though.
passing the blunt over to you, he let you take a hit before he pulled you closer and put his arm around your shoulder.
"you don't look the way you usually do," yeonjun pointed out, "there's something wrong, isn't there?" you sighed out after your next hit, nodding in defeat as you rested your head on his arm. "do you wanna talk about it, beautiful? a pretty girl like you should always be smiling," yeonjun asked, not forgetting to add a dash of flirting as he usually did.
"do you remember jake?" you asked as you passed the blunt to him, him nodding before taking a hit, "i think he's seeing someone else at the same time as we're having a... thing, if you can even call it that. i went to his place earlier today to bring him some gifts that i made him the night prior as a surprise, and i saw that he had two cups in his sink, one of them stained with dark red lipstick. it made me feel shitty, so i decided to leave without saying a word to him." you explained between the passing of the almost gone blunt which prompted yeonjun to get up and prepare his bong to smoke from.
"bro is a fucking sleaze, seriously. and i'm not just saying that to make you feel better, i'm saying it because i think you deserve someone who won't lead you on like that. please don't think that you're at fault for being upset," yeonjun reassured you, putting his arm around you again and letting you fall into him after taking another deep inhale of weed, "god, he's a fucking dick for that."
you couldn't help but let a few tears roll down your face as you opened up to him about what happened. you weren't even particularly close to yeonjun, but he just felt so trustworthy. were those thoughts maybe a side effect from being high? possibly. did you really care? nope. you just needed to get everything off your chest.
"please don't cry," yeonjun said upon feeling his shirt become wet with tears, "he is not worth it. guys aren't supposed to leave women in tears like this. remember that, okay?" you nodded as yeonjun helped you dry your tears.
at this point, you couldn't even keep count of how many hits of weed you'd taken. all you knew right now is that you were overcome with intense sadness, barely being able to stop your tears as yeonjun hugged you tight, his sweet cologne tickling your nose.
you were so out of it from your emotions paired with weed that you didn't even notice how quickly you drifted off to sleep.
--------------------------------------------------------
waking up, you didn't expect to feel your mattress underneath you. you got up and peered out your open door, seeing yeonjun fast asleep on your couch with a cozy blanket and pillow underneath his head.
quietly, you snuck over to your bathroom, looking at yourself in the mirror and staring at how shitfaced you looked from smoking all night. you decided to brush your teeth, wash your face, and fix your hair a bit to see if it'd make you feel better.
you suddenly heard the bathroom door creak open, seeing yeonjun's reflection in the mirror.
"oops, i didn't even think of knocking," he looked down sheepishly. "don't worry about it," you chuckled in response, "i was just on my way out anyway. wanna go out to get breakfast or something?" yeonjun nodded, already beginning to brush his teeth. you smiled at him before walking out of the bathroom to give him privacy.
while you were waiting on him, you decided to plop onto your bed and check your phone.
the calls and texts from jake were reaching the hundreds at this point. from what you could see, he'd been texting you almost all night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you felt your stomach tie itself into a knot. you slid your phone to the other side of the bed and lied down, pretending to sleep so that yeonjun would leave you be once he got out of the bathroom.
you felt like sobbing your eyes out.
you hadn't gotten texts like these since you left home all those years ago.
shutting your eyes tightly, you tried to think about something else, anything else, but you simply couldn't.
the bathroom door creaked open, yeonjun walking out and spotting you on your bed. he figured that you went back to sleep and decided to chill on the couch until you "woke up."
suddenly, you heard a weird noise that startled you a bit, but you decided to ignore it until you heard the door open.
your soul fully sunk through your body. you forgot that you gave jake a spare key.
"and what do you think you're doing here?" you heard jake's deep aussie accent question yeonjun as you gulped. "i should be the one asking you that question," yeonjun argued back, "y/n? are you awake? we've got some company."
you had to bite the bullet, you had to. you crept out of your room, seeing jake and yeonjun staring at each other with fury in their eyes.
"jake, what are you doing here..." you sighed out as you looked down. jake ran toward you, relieved that you were safe. he reached over to pull you into an embrace which you rejected. jake swore the world stopped spinning when you moved yourself away from it; you'd never done something that...cold.
"uh, s-should i leave?" yeonjun asked awkwardly though still worried. "i advise you do," jake replied to him immediately. "don't talk to my friends like that..." you glared at him, causing him to stiffen.
"okay, i'll go," yeonjun sighed as he walked over to grab his backpack off the floor, "but if i hear that you put your hands on her, you're done for; i'll fuck you up, remember that." before he walked out the door, made sure to mouth 'be safe' to you.
"what the fuck, jake?!" you yelled out once the door was shut, "you didn't have to be aggressive with him! h-he was just helping me with something." it wasn't a complete lie.
"if anything, i should be asking you 'what the fuck!' you literally haven't contacted me since you abruptly left my house yesterday evening no matter how many times i messaged and called you! you had me worried sick! what the hell is going on?! was he here all night? is that why you didn't talk to me? did i interrupt your little fling?" jake rebuttaled.
"you're one to talk about having a little fling," you said under your breath before going off, "you're the one having girls over at your house one after another! you probably dyed your hair for her too... you were probably shirtless and fresh out of the shower because you had something going on before i got there, huh? you're lucky she left before i got there, right? she would've been so upset to see another girl over, wouldn't she? i saw that lipstick stained cup, jake, and i'm absolutely over it. i'm not just gonna sit here and act like i'm fine with this because i'm not."
jake sighed in frustration as he put his forehead on one of his hands. "look, it's seriously not what you think-"
"don't waste your breath. get out, get out and go back to her. what you do is none of my business; i don't give a fuck anymore."
"y/n, fucking listen to me, okay?!"
you flinched at the way he raised his voice. for the second time today, you were brought back to when you were still living with your shitty family. the yelling was getting to be too much, and you were trying your hardest to conceal the tears that threatened to pour from your eyes.
jake noticed how your body seemed to stiffen at how he was talking to you, and he felt horrible about it, but it was the only way you'd listen; he knew you well.
"that girl who was at my house prior to you coming over was the same girl who'd been harassing you at work. she came over unannounced to whine and question why i took you with me to japan instead of her, and i explained everything to her. i kindly asked her to butt out and which only made her angrier. she's trying to get between us, and i don't know what else to do but wait things out and hope she eventually leaves us alone and-"
"if i'm you're "everything," then why are you having such a hard time being assertive toward her? i trusted you, jake... i thought you actually cared, but it seems like you don't anymore."
so much for wanting to trust him, right?
jake's eyes widened in shock at the sudden realization that you heard him say that you're his everything when you guys were back in japan.
"w-wait, you heard that?" jake asked.
"wow, is that really what you're worried about right now? the fact that i heard you lie?"
"i wasn't lying! y/n, please stop being like this. i was serious then, and i'm still serious now. please don't cry."
you honestly didn't even realize you began crying until he pointed it out. frantically, you wiped your tears in embarrassment.
"h-how do y-you expect me t-to believe y-you?" you hiccuped through your tears, "j-just admit t-that y-you don't c-care about m-me." you fully sobbed your eyes out in front of him, your emotions making your body physically weak.
"y/n," jake's voice broke as tears rolled down his cheeks, "i-i just- i really care about you. fuck it, y/n, i can't take it anymore-
.
.
.
i love you..."

Thank you guys for reading this story and enjoying it! I was very excited when I wrote this chapter and I hope you'd like it too. For some reason Electric love by Børns was playing in my head the whole time as I wrote the reunion part. And the last lines are reference to the Sleepover by Hayley Kiyoko.
-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-
Abby spent her Sunday thinking and thinking and thinking. Even if she wanted to stop she just couldn't, spiralling into the rabbit hole of "does she like me? Do I like her? No, she doesn't like me. I do like her." on repeat. It was still hard to wrap her head around it - in two days her whole perception of herself just turned upside down. And it was good - it always feels good to get rid of this amount of guilt and shame - but it also left Abby in front of metaphorical crossroads and the obvious “what’s next?”.
Abby jumped from being so sure in her feelings to backtracking into “I just figured out my sexuality I need more time”, which was well, true - she did need more time to just..let the knowledge settle.
But you still weren’t home, and her thoughts were too focused on you. Yes, Abby just figured everything out, but the dam that kept her feelings unnoticed broke and now Abby felt everything. The itch she had in her hands before because she wanted to touch you? It was constant now. The desire to call you and just talk? Relentless. She never felt this way about anyone - which was understandable, it’s hard to fall in love with people you’d better be friends with - and the intensity of her feelings was scaring her at times.
Abby spent the first half of Sunday moping around while Ellie provided her silent emotional support and just played games with Abby to keep her occupied. But now and then she’d drift back into her spiralling.
“Abs, until you talk to her all your thoughts have some probability of happening. And it means you’re wasting time, okay? You need to chill.”
“Ellie. Two days ago I learned I’m gay and yesterday I realised I like my roommate. What chill are you talking about?”
“Okay, yeah, my bad. But this spin cycle won’t give any kind of results. Reflect all you want or whatever, but until you talk to her you won’t have an answer.”
“I’m not even sure I want one.”
“You want one, dude. Believe me.” Ellie said somehow menacingly, and Abby didn’t argue.
After Ellie left Abby tried to pick her thoughts apart again, but there was nothing new in her poor brain. Abby felt tired and not lost, but definitely in a dead end. So she decided to use one of her favourite coping mechanisms and hit the gym. The gym always helped, especially with emotions - Abby could box if she was angry or do compounds to concentrate on her form instead of her thoughts, she could stretch just to torture herself and concentrate on physical pain.
Abby packed her bag and went to the gym, hoping for some kind of relief and honestly? A fucking break. She was extremely tired of constant anxiety that changed to sweet memories of you and then changed back to anxiety. Abby wasn’t used to this, so it was taking a huge toll on her - a toll big enough to gain courage to tell you everything. Ellie was right - she needed an answer if she preferred to stay fucking sane.
And the gym helped. Abby did her safest routine, worried she’d get stuck in her head and hurt herself if she did something different, and while Abby was counting reps and measuring time for the rest period, she didn’t think of you. Her only concern was her form and the mental maths of how much weights she needed to place, how to breathe properly and how to place her feet correctly for the squats.
But the moment Abby left the gym, her thoughts were back. Maybe you already came back home? All your books for tomorrow were at home, you needed them, right? Did you have spare clothes at Cait’s? (where else you’d be? At Vi’s? Abby didn’t even want to entertain the idea, and really, it didn’t seem like you) Abby wasn’t sure if texting you would be a right move right now - she needed space and you probably needed it too. But fuck she missed you.
Abby checked her phone in case there are any messages from you, any messages, even if you'd call her a bitch or something. Just. Any indication you were still in her life.
But no. There was nothing, and the apartment was silent and empty when Abby came back.
Monday went over Abby's head, she couldn't concentrate on her classes which was very surprising: she could go with no sleep and still be present during lessons, but today all she could think about was you. The guilt and shame mixed with excitement and hope and it was driving her insane, being pulled apart by polar emotions like that. Now all these stupid stories from how painful it was to be in love finally made sense to Abby - before you she was never really in love with anybody, but now? Now all these tears and desperation and grand gestures made sense. Coming back to exes? Made sense, because she’d crawl back to you without a question. Forgiving anything? Made sense too.
Fuck, people were really right when they said how powerful love was and what things it made them do for it. And even if it was painful and confusing, Abby felt happy about it, as if her unbearable feelings were a proof of her own humanity. A lot of people before told her she was cold and heartless - Ellie joked about it a lot when Abby didn’t hesitate to tell someone who liked her to fuck off - and sometimes it got to her. Now though? Feeling the sharpest needle going through her heart when she thought of you telling her to fuck off? This pain made Abby feel alive.
Later at practice Abby saw Vi - they didn’t train with each other, different weights, but the days were the same - and Abby expected Vi to be angry at her, but not only Vi wasn’t angry, she actually looked at her sympathetically, as if she knew what was happening in Abby's soul. The guilt and shame were back - yes, Abby was still jealous and yes she still wanted to break every knuckle on Vi’s hands for touching you - but she was self-aware enough to understand that Vi wasn’t a part of this. It wasn’t Vi’s fault that Abby had issues.
And the thing was - Vi was actually fucking nice. Abby didn’t talk to her a lot, but she knew Vi’s story and she admired how hard-working she was and how she stayed herself after all the shit she’s been through. Ellie called her cool, and Ellie didn’t call anyone cool, so Abby felt like she fucked up here too.
But the stakes weren't that high - it wasn't like they were friends in the first place - so Abby decided to make amends. She braced herself for the uncomfortable conversation and went over to Vi's locker when they were changing.
"Hey." Vi looked at her, surprised, but she didn't seem hostile, so Abby continued. "I wanted to say sorry for the other day. I was an asshole for no reason."
"Don't stress." Vi smiled. "I wasn't offended."
"Yeah well. I still said some shit. Sorry again."
"It's okay." Vi seemed to hesitate before speaking next. "(Y/n) was really upset."
"Yeah. I know." Abby nodded, trying to conceal her hurt.
"Do you plan on talking to her?" Vi asked carefully again as she put her shirt on.
"Yes."
"Cool."
It seemed like the conversation was over and Abby went back to her locker, taking her bag out and putting her sweaty uniform inside. She felt relieved after that - if this went well, maybe it will go well with you too. Vi put her things in her bag and walked to the exit while Abby was still changing, deep in her thoughts.
"Have you figured it out yet? Why you got so angry?" Vi asked cautiously, stopping right before leaving.
Abby froze, surprised, as she stared at her t-shirt.
"Was it really that obvious?"
Vi shrugged.
"Kinda. You know, the spidey sense. It's not about your looks, it's just… you can tell."
"Gay aura." Abby smirked, remembering Ellie’s words.
"Gay aura." Vi chuckled. "Good luck, Abby."
"Thanks."
And her words were genuine.
You were still pretty shaken up after the fight - not because of the fight itself or Abby’s words, but because it felt like you were hit with reality in a way that broke your stupid rose coloured glasses. And for some reason it was hard to come to terms with the fact that you overestimated yourself: how you acted based on your emotions instead of using your fucking brain - which is understandable, people lose their brains when they’re in love - and the result was the same. You weren’t planning on confessing at all, instead trying to get over Abby, and it led to the same outcome - you two weren’t talking.
You kept thinking about if you made the right choice by never bringing up the “maybe you’re not so straight” topic with Abby - maybe you should have? Just very carefully? Just nudge her in the right direction? Was it too late to do that now?
Huh, what a fun conversation it could be “hey, maybe you were so angry at me not because I made you uncomfortable in your own home but because you’re gay and jealous?” (which was in fact Cait's entire point about this fight). Even if this would go well, Abby being gay didn’t equal Abby being gay for you.
God, what if Abby would start bringing girls over once she would be out? “Thanks (y/n) for helping me figure out my sexuality, now I’m going to fuck every gay girl on campus because I’m hot as fuck and they all drool over  me”. Fuck.
At this point it was hard to differentiate between your rational thoughts and irrational thoughts: where did your concerns end and overthinking started? You felt confused and all over the place, and even though you knew the only way to fix it was to come home and face Abby, you were too much of a coward to do it.
Obviously you'd say you were sorry. And you would stop bringing girls over because she was uncomfortable with it and you weren't an asshole. But you felt like this talk would be only the cover of the real problem - this situation happened not because you were selfish (not entirely), but because you wanted to get over Abby as fast as possible. For some reason you felt like you had to tell Abby you were in love with her - otherwise you had a feeling you were taking advantage of her with the amount of touch and care that was between you. For you these hugs and cuddles and small kisses on your cheeks weren't platonic or friendly, and now when you finally admitted your defeat, you couldn't pretend it was something else.
So you had two choices: tell Abby you were in love with her and let her decide how to change her boundaries or distance yourself from her as far as possible. And if you were younger you'd probably choose the second option - it was way easier than being honest and getting rejected. But this way you'd lose her as a friend and leave both of you with hurt and anger towards each other. And Abby would probably call you out on this and you'd have to tell her what was wrong with you anyway.
So your only option was to confess and face whatever would come out of it. And it was scary.
That was the reason why instead of going home on Monday you still came back to Cait - you couldn't lie to Abby but you couldn't tell her the truth either, so, as one of the cartoon characters said, there was a third option: doing nothing. And you chose it.
Caitlyn wasn't happy with your choice, staring you down as you took your shoes off.
"You're running away from your problems."
"I'm doing nothing about my problems. There's a difference." You sighed tiredly and put your coat on the clothing rack.
Cait stared you down, frowning, but you didn’t have energy to argue with her, so you went straight for the shower. It didn’t help much with your thoughts, but the weight of your anxiety got smaller.
from: Vi
Abby just apologised to me
You stared at your phone as your feelings flooded your chest - Abby was stubborn but she was good. She was doing what was right, she fucking apologised to Vi, and here you were, too scared to face her. If Abby said sorry she felt guilty, and it meant she was hurting while you were hiding from her. You could wallow in misery all you wanted, but the thought that you were dragging Abby down with you made you feel sick. You loved her too much to let your fears hurt her.
to: Vi
How is she?
from: Vi
She got hit in the face
Three times
so
shitty
The guilt washed over you. For Abby to be this unfocused? It meant she was really worried and upset, and you needed to stop it. Fuck it if you couldn’t confess yet, but you needed to resolve this situation and stop indirectly torturing Abby.
to: Vi
Can we reschedule our lesson tomorrow?
from: Vi
Yeah no problem
You locked your phone and went over to Caitlyn, who was reading.
“I’m going home tomorrow.”
“Thank god.” Caitlyn rolled her eyes.
“She apologised to Vi.”
“Amazing.”
“By the way, can I give Vi your number?”
Caitlyn stopped reading and you noticed her pink blush. It was faint, but after years of friendship you knew what it was - you weren’t surprised, Vi was hot and Caitlyn thought she was smart, so of course your question got a reaction out of her.
“Aren’t you two involved?”
“We’re friends. If it’s a no it’s okay. I can totally see why it’d bother you.”
“It doesn’t bother me. I’m not an idiot, I’ve noticed how she looked at me.” Caitlyn was creepily observant and awfully honest. Thank god she didn’t embarrass Vi right then and there, because Cait was unhinged like that. “Give me her number, I’ll text her myself.”
“Cait, you’re terrifying.” You said honestly. “She is sweet, don’t hurt her.”
Caitlyn stared at you like you were an idiot and you just silently showed her Vi’s number so she could copy it.
Three days. It’s been three days since the fight and Abby was exhausted. She couldn’t even sleep, creeped out by the silence in your apartment, twisting and turning the whole night, and if she fell asleep she dreamt of you - either the fight played out differently (you didn’t leave and Abby confessed) or it was 100 and 1 scenario of your reunion.
But then Abby woke up and you weren’t there. She hated how quiet the place was.
At least Abby could concentrate during her classes, even though she opened her dms every 10 minutes trying to gain courage to text you. Why was it this hard? By the end of the day she chickened out and decided to text you if you wouldn’t be home today too. And for some reason Abby was sure you wouldn’t be home when she’d come from classes today. It seemed like you were still pretty mad at her - oh, that was why she was too afraid to text you. Abby - now calmed down, guilty Abby - was not prepared for your wrath if it was still there. And she’d prefer to have it fall on her in person than over a stupid text.
Abby opened the door to your apartment and froze right in the doorway. She could hear the TV from the living room, she saw the lights faintly lightning the hallway and fuck, there were your shoes.
You were home.
Abby took her shoes and her coat off in record time and stormed to the living room. You were sitting on the couch, your legs under you, and you smiled at her sheepishly, as if you weren’t sure that Abby’d be happy to see you. Abby took a deep breath as her heartbeat went absolutely crazy.
“You’re home.” Abby sighed, still so shocked she thought she was dreaming again, her bag falling from her shoulder to the floor with a thud.
“Hi.” You said in a small voice and Abby couldn’t take anymore - you were there and you were smiling at her and she missed you so fucking much.
Abby almost ran to you, scooping you in her arms as you yelped in surprise - fucking hell Abby was strong to pull you up like that.
“You’re home.” Abby murmured into your neck, breathing you in, the same spice and mint as always. You hugged her shoulders and breathed her in too - you missed her crazy. Abby was solid against you and her hand on the small of your back kept you pressed into her as if she was afraid you’d disappear. You clung to her, as you became aware how much you missed her warmth - how did you survive these three days without Abby?
“I’m sorry, I was so selfish.” You told Abby while she pressed you flush against her.
“God, I’m so sorry too, I didn’t mean a word of what I’ve said to you.” Abby said into your hair, her voice soft and quiet and full of remorse. You hummed, comforted by her arms around you, her blonde hair tickling your nose. Abby smelt like home, like someone who would protect you from anything and whatever she said to you on Saturday didn’t matter anymore.
Abby inhaled your scent and closed her eyes, basking in you. She physically couldn't let you go now when she's got you, knowing now why it felt so good to hold you and not being ashamed or anxious about it. Fuck. To hell with it, Abby's never been a coward.
"I figured my shit out." Abby's voice was steady, but her heart sounded like drums in her ears.
"What do you mean?" And your heart was not any better.
"You told me to figure my shit out. I did. I wasn't angry because you were disturbing me or something." Abby pressed you even closer, grounding herself in your presence. "I was jealous."
It was suddenly hard to breathe and you froze in Abby's arms. Did she mean what you thought she meant? God, please, let it be what you so desperately wanted it to be.
Abby moved away a little so she could look at you, because if Abby would get her heart broken now she at least could get it broken looking into your eyes.
"I like you." Abby breathed out and the wave of painful relief hit her. It was good to let it out, as if someone cut open an aching injury and yeah, she was bleeding, but it felt better.
Your brain fully shut down as your ears rang from her words - was it even real? Was it your Abby or another dream? But it was real, and Abby was looking at you, she was waiting for an answer and your own confession ripped out from your chest before you could stop yourself.
"I like you too." You felt your face heat up for some reason, but the way Abby’s eyes lit up made it all worth it.
Abby's eyes grew wide with surprise just before all her restraints crumbled. She took your face in her hands and did what she was literally dreaming about the past few nights - she kissed you. And everything exploded.
Your hands flew to Abby's face and you kissed her back desperately, pressing into her with all you had. Abby locked her arms around your waist so hard your back arched, she needed you close as badly as you needed her.
Abby never felt like this, like every move of your lips on hers set her alight and the hunger she never had before was suddenly making her greedy and desperate to touch you. As if under a spell, Abby pushed you to the couch until you hit it with the back of your knees and sat down so Abby could press you into the seat as you opened your mouth and let her tongue slip inside, making you both groan. Abby felt high from kissing you, the way you were all soft and gentle under her, but not delicate at all, she wasn’t afraid to hurt you because you were real and solid and your fingers on her neck were warm.
And it wasn't enough for Abby, she needed more, she needed to touch your bare skin - so she pushed her hand under your hoodie, kneading your side. You were warm and soft and your scent was all around her, and it was still not enough. She wanted to hear you make the same noise that you made that night for someone else - she wanted you to sigh and whimper and moan for her, she wanted to-
You pressed on her shoulders and Abby backed off, confused.
"We need to slow down." You panted, looking into Abby’s shiny eyes. She was blushing and panting as well, her hand was still on your naked waist, riding up your hoodie enough for her to see your lower stomach. Abby’s eyes went dark as she flicked her eyes from your face to your stomach and back.
"Yeah."
You both didn't move, staring at each other. Abby didn’t want to stop, she wanted to kiss you and touch you and if someone would move away first it would definitely not be her. And then you kissed Abby again, bringing her as close as possible, giving up on any rational thought in your head. You were weak, so when Abby pushed you down on the couch you happily spread your legs for her, getting wet in your pants from how delicious it felt to be opened like that. Abby’s hands roamed across your sides and your hips, groping and kneading your body as if she couldn’t get enough - and she truly couldn’t, appreciating every soft fold she made, every hard ridge digging into her palm. You sighed into her mouth and Abby just needed to press you down into this couch, moving one of her hands to caress your thigh and pull you closer. You felt dizzy, high on Abby's confident, hungry touch, the perfect balance of gentle and rough, so deliciously Abby. No one could touch you like that, like you were hers, your body and your soul, without a hesitation. Abby took what she wanted and you drank it all up.
Abby kissed your jaw and moved down to your neck, leaving an open mouthed kiss just below your ear and you let out a surprised sigh - and Abby’s brain fucking melted. She left more kisses, all shamelessly open, her hot tongue brushing over your skin just to hear you sigh like that. Abby pushed your thighs up so you could close them around her waist and slipped her hand back under your hoodie, getting dangerously close to your tits. That broke the spell on you, bringing you back to reality.
“Abby, wait.” You asked, not comfortable with how fast it was going. Abby looked up to you, waiting for what you wanted to tell her. “We really need to chill.” You caressed her cheek, taking a deep breath to calm yourself down.
Abby wanted to protest, but the horny fog started leaving her head and she understood how overboard she went just now, jumping you like this the moment you reciprocated her feelings. It was too fast.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Abby chuckled and tried to move away, but you didn’t let her, pressing her back to you.
“Just.. lie down.”
Abby listened to you, her hands still under your hoodie, but now she was just caressing your sides gently with her thumbs, sending goosebumps.
“I’ve missed you so much.” You told her as you stroke her hair.
“I’ve missed you too. The worst three days of my life.”
You laughed quietly.
“How did you figure it out?” You asked, curious. Abby sighed, but you waited.
“Oh man, this is embarrassing. I thought I was homophobic, because I hated that you were bringing girls over. Talked to Ellie, figured out I was homophobic to myself.” Abby laughed, and even though you could see the comedy in her words, you couldn't imagine what she had to go through.
“This is such a mind-fuckery.” You said sympathetically. “It must’ve felt so good to realise that.”
“It was. And then I saw you with Vi and what happened happened.”
“Oh god this is fast. Like, did you even have the time to properly process that?”
“Three days with myself would do.” Abby chuckled and you felt the guilt poking your heart.
“Sorry. I felt like I couldn’t just say sorry and move on without telling you about my feelings. But I was scared.” You admitted and Abby hummed, seeing your point. It must've been more scary for you as you knew what was happening in your head and the time turned your fear into full blown terror.
"How long have you known?"
"That I like you? Pretty much from the beginning, but I tried really hard to stop it."
Abby laughed and you tilted your head to look at her, not understanding what was so funny.
"Remember when we hung out for the first time? When we watched that horror movie that offended you so much?"
"Yeah?"
"I was very confused why you were so far away from me. I was already into you by that point."
"I can't imagine what kind of mental somersaults you had to do to keep it hidden from yourself." You sighed and hugged her harder. “I’m very happy you’re free of the straight curse.”
Abby snorted and looked up to you, just staring, unashamed - everything about you was perfect.
“You’re so pretty.” God it felt good to say it freely, say it without shame, without broken syllables and mumbling.
You smiled and looked away, flustered, and Abby watched you with fascination - she’s never seen you like this.
“Thanks.” You tried to stop smiling but you couldn’t, and Abby’s curious and teasing gaze just made you smile more. “No, stop it.” You said, playfully stern.
“Nah, I’ll do it even more now. Seeing you crumble like this is even better than kicking your ass in Mortal Kombat.”
“Oh yeah? I still cook your food.” You threatened.
Before Abby could answer her stomach rumbled and you laughed.
“Let’s go eat.”
And everything was back to normal, but it also wasn’t. You chatted, catching up on these days you spent apart, telling each other the last gossip and complaining about classes - that was normal. But now Abby could hug you from behind and steal a kiss, her high making her bold, and you could abandon whatever you had on the stove and wrap your arms around her neck, kissing her back. Because now you didn’t have to hide from each other, second-guessing motives and actions. Now when you ate and talked you could hold hands and smile bashfully at each other, and the teasing could end in millions of short kisses. You finally let yourself hug Abby from behind while she washed the dishes and tell her what was happening with Caitlyn and Vi.
Later you did your usual cuddle time, and Abby held you in her arms exactly like she wanted to. A few months ago you both sat on that couch - awkward and distant, too afraid of each other - to watch a movie, and now you were lying on it, kissing and cuddling, basking in each other as you gently and innocently explored what was an unattainable dream before, caressing sides and hips and ribs without heat but with a desire to get to know.
Abby swore she started to believe in magic when you touched her.

FUCK YEAH
you lucky bitch
You laughed when Abby showed you Ellie's texts and nuzzled into Abby's chest.
"Let's do a sleepover today." Abby said as she kissed your temple.
"Where?"
"In my bed."

Weeping Maiden [ACT I] CHAPTER 11
Tumblr media
[Act I] CHAPTER 11
[Name] woke up in her room in Royal Dawn Dormitory. Flora was dozing off on the armchair by her bed. The fairy’s eyes looked puffy from crying. Flora woke up startled by the young girl snorting. The old woman looked at her for a minute before bawling. She was so loud that she could hear running in the mini castle.
Ambrose barged in the room holding his robe up. He looked disheveled while panting. His eyes darted everywhere before he saw [Name] smiling awkwardly. It was his turn to cry.
“_Oh my sweet child! I was so worried.”
Alerted by the commotion, the other came to see what was happening. Aurelius also teared up as he saw the young girl. She was alive and well.
“_ Don't scare us like that ever again.
_ Yes, I'm sorry. I swear I didn't mean to worry.
_ It's not about you worrying us, my dear child. It was dangerous. You could have died.”
The director said glaring at her worriedly. He wanted to protect her. Not only was she his most delicate student, but she was first and foremost his daughter blood related or not. [Name]’s heart fluttered in front of his sincere eyes.
“_ It's a parent's job to take care and worry about their child. And a father's job to protect their daughter.”
The young girl couldn't say anything. Her heart felt heavy with unknown emotions. She didn't know how to react to it, but it felt good somehow. Like she was waiting for such words, she couldn't stop her tears trailing down her cheek. The old man held her in her arms and [Name] broke down wailing like a little kid. She couldn't help but cry as he hugged her tightly. It was warm. Ambrose’s embrace felt so warm around her.
A few minutes after, her eyes were puffy and red gaining her some teasing laugh from Vil and the rest.
“_You look like a baby chick who hatched with your eyes like that.
_Nooo, baby chick are ugly when they hatch.”
[Name] whined still sniffing here and there. The group laughed relieved everyone was alright. They got out with only a few scratch and bruise nothing to heavy. The most worrying peoples were Neige and her who were unconscious for two days. Neige woke up yesterday.
“_About Neige…”
[Name] started to explain what she saw in his memories as they listened calmly. There was a silence for a moment until Alexis talked.
“_Like I give a fuck! He drugged you! Don't expect me to go easy on him because of his sob story.”
Aurelius winced at his colorful language but agreed with him nonetheless. [Name] smiled gently at them.
“_ I'm not asking you to forgive him. I'm just stating the core reason for Neige's Overblot. Neige is incapable of valuing himself for what he is. For him, his worth can only be equated to his usefulness.”
She understood this feeling better than anyone. As a former child actor and having grown up in a toxic family, she understood what Neige had gone through. Unlike her, Neige was probably not aware of his own abuse.
“_ I see… Well, you may want to know. I decided to exclude Neige for a week.
_ Only a week? Don't tell me you are planning to let him go scoff free!”
[Name] looked at Vil who frowned at Ambrose’s words. She wanted to comments on how Crowley is letting every Overblotted students off the hook without any repercussions. Aside from Leona who almost got disqualified for Magicshift. The RSA director only laughed.
“_ Of course not. But I think that everyone can get a second chance, if they do show determination and sincerity. The same could be said for you. When I call for you as a primary suspect, I wanted to give you a chance to defend yourself. And if you were the culprit, a chance to redeem yourself.”
Vil couldn’t say if he was unconfortable or just jealous. The director knew Neige longer than him, so it was normal to trust him more than the actor. On the opposite, Crowley didn’t hesitate to send Vil the moment the school reputation was brought up. It left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Thanks to Ambrose, Vil was able to return to school. He covered it as a flu, he and [Name] caught that. The young girl coming from a different and closeted “land”, her immunity system was a bit weaker than them. It was the excuse they gave everyone to explain their absences.
“_Where is Neige? I would like to talk to him before he leave.”
There was another silence.
“_Hey! You heard her? So, are you going to hide behind that wall longer?”
Alexis growled looking toward the open door. They could see a shoulder flinching but no other mouvement. Seeing that he wasn’t going to move, the gentle-looking boy felt even more pissed.
“_ COME IN!!! YOU PIECE OF S…. syrup! I was going to say syrup.”
Everyone looked at him unconvinced and Aurelius couldn’t help but stifle a chuckle. He was going to be in trouble if he continued to swear like a sailor. Vil on other side was wondering if it was a normal for small and delicate looking boys to have a foul mouth. This was the second one after Epel. That being said hearing Neige getting insulted didn’t felt bad. He will acknowledge that Neige’s situation was sad, but it didnt mean he would like him. If anything, he had even more resentment toward him.
Neige walked inside, his eyes darted to the floor unable to confront their stare. Taking on the cue, Ambrose made everyone leave. Aurelius and Alexis couldn’t help but glare at Neige.
“_Scream if he try to do anything suspicious.
_ Yeah, we will beat him for you if he try anything so don’t worry.”
Aurelius and Alexis said while burning hole with their glare on Neige. Vil felt refreshed in a way. Look like RSA too could be a little violent.
Alone, Neige and [Name] looked at each other for moment. The boy looked devastated, remorse was obvious on his face.
“_ I’m sorry… I…
_ I never liked you more than a friend, Neige.”
Neige flinched a little. He could feel a lump forming in his throat. He looked at her before smiling at her. He tried to push back on his need to cry. He was  aware, she didn’t share his feeling. He was going to use this week to reflect on it. Deep down he felt like he didn’t have any right on loving her or coveting her affection.
“_ I know… I’m quite aware of it now. I just want to say it at least once. I love you, [Name].”
[Name] was speechless for a moment. His eyes shined with a resolve she never saw in him before. Something changed in him, he looked a little bit more like a man rather than a delicate boy. Both exchanged a small laugh before Neige stood up to leave. She rejected his confession but at least she acknowledged it.
Neige was walking down the stair under the two freshmen’s glare. It was understandable for them to hate him. Remembering something, he stopped in his tracks and looked at them.
“_Please, take care of her.
_We don’t need you to tell us that.
_Just leave already!”
Neige chuckled a little looking at the two. What a duo of  brave little knight they were.
“_Right, before I forgot. Don’t trust Henry that much.”
Aurelius frowned a little. What does his dormleader have to do with all this? The young man felt his stomach churn. Pushing his worry aside, he walked back inside the bedroom once he was sure Neige left the dorm.

It was an uncomfortable feeling. Your limbs felt a little too long and your muscles way too sore for never once setting foot in a gym.
After the initial morning grogginess faded and your vision cleared it didn’t take you too long to put two and two together, even though the conclusion you came to made you sick to your stomach.
You had a soulmate. You had a soulmate. It still didn’t seem quite right. No way it could be right.
After fucking around on whoever’s phone was sitting on the bedside table for a bit you clambored out of bed, immediately falling onto the cold wooden floor. When you finally managed to stand up you found yourself towering over the rest of the room.
You didn’t quite have a game plan, you didn’t even know who you were. A great start would presumably be attending breakfast with the pretty men on the phone and act like everything was normal until you can contact your friends. Easy enough.
Wrong.
You knew you were in over your head when you stepped out into the home and were met by an apartment that oozed luxury, or at least whatever a broke college student could consider to be a luxury. You were out of your element and no amount of studying could've prepared you for this.
As you make your way towards the kitchen your eyes meet those belonging to a pretty male sitting at the counter. He was adorning a hoodie that was pulled over his long hair as he gave you a smile and opened up his mouth to show you his chewed up breakfast. How charming.
“Good morning,” you greet, the voice exiting your lips startling you. The greeting felt too empty so you awkwardly reach out to pinch his cheek, hoping it came off as affectionate and normal but his expression tells you otherwise. You immediately retract your hand and make your way to the other male in the kitchen.
“Damn Binnie, you must be nervous for your show tonight,” the other one chuckles, “You’re being extra nice?”
Binnie? Show?
He hands you a plate of the promised waffles and as you pick up the fork is when you first see your reflection in the metal, it hadn’t occurred to you to do that just yet. It was rather jarring.
“Uhm, where’s the bathroom?” you ask, setting down the plate with crazed eyes.
“Down the hall…like always,” the waffle man says, giving you a quizzical look as you run off.
As you step inside said bathroom you are immediately greeted by a six foot tall man who looked oddly familiar. You gently touched your face, or well your soulmate’s face, and tried not to rip his hair out as you paced the bathroom.
You had no clue what you were supposed to do, they never taught you what happens after you switch bodies with your soulmate in school. And there was no way you could outright tell the two guys sitting in the kitchen who were probably already growing suspicious of you. Fuck, just your luck.
You decided to leave the bathroom and make a beeline for the room you woke up in. And god bless Taehyun for forcing you to memorize his number in case of an emergency because that was your only lifeline at this point.

i miss you, don't call me - chapter twelve: friends?
♡ masterlist ♡ - 《 prev | next 》
synopsis: when your acting careers start to pick up you and your boyfriend zoro both decide that it's better to go your separate ways. you didn't want to, but you knew he was right. fast forward to a couple years later, when you're finally starting to heal, your friends score a deal to shoot a movie together with your ex and you're starting to think maybe you haven't really moved on.
you had gone bankrupt in monopoly, courtesy of nami, so you decided to take a break. you excused yourself under the guise of getting another drink before you made your way to the balcony. you just needed some space away from the one man you couldn't stop thinking about.
you look out at the view and notice all the pretty lights in the distance. for a moment you just enjoy the calmness of being outside compared to the chaos of game night that was taking place inside. that is, until you hear the sliding door open and then shut. you don't bother to turn around, you'll figure out whoever it is soon enough.
you feel them slowly move to stand beside you, a few inches between the both of you the only thing keeping you from touching. you don't have to wait for them to speak, the mixture of alcohol and cologne enough to tell you who was standing beside you. you're all too familiar with the combination of scents. you feel your heart skip a beat, it's been awhile since the two of you were alone since the break up.
"hey." you hear him say, the sound of his deep voice causing the butterflies in your belly that were once dormant to slowly wake up. "hey." you respond back, eyes still trained on the lights below you, not ready to look at him just yet. out of the corner of your eye you notice him fidgeting with the beer bottle in his hand, it was one of his habits he'd do when he was nervous that you had become so accustomed to.
"you know...i'm not someone who beats around the bush, i'm also not someone who likes to talk..." he sounds so awkward trying to word his thoughts that you can't help but smile. "yeah, i know." you reply, memories of the both of you flashing through your mind. he lets out a sigh, a hand coming up to ruffle his hair. "it's been awhile since we broke up...i was just thinking...maybe we could be friends? we've been seeing a lot of each other again. i think it would just make sense. right?" he turns his body towards you so that he can fully look at you to see your reaction.
you feel a little embarrassed under his gaze, it's been so long since he's looked at you for longer than a couple of seconds that you can't help but squirm under it. "yeah. we can do that. it would probably make our friends feel more at ease. it was hard not just on us but on them too." you say as you finally work up the courage to look into his eyes. you feel your breath catch in your throat when you notice the look he's giving you, is it fondness? love? you don't know. it doesn't help that you're already a few drinks and some shots in.
"there you guys are! we're starting uno! come on! we're just waiting on you guys!" luffy says while sticking his head out the door. "hurry up!" before you can reply he's already taken off running towards the direction of the living room. "i guess we should head inside." you say as you start walking towards the sliding door. "i'm glad we're friends again. i missed you." you stop in your tracks, the admission catching you off guard. "let's go before they send someone else to get us." he says as he walks past you not waiting for a response.

Peter left your apartment that night and his last words were:
"I'm going to fix it, I promise."
He never answered yes or no. He never gave you a concrete answer as to who he wanted to be with, her or you.
The truth is, even Peter didn't know. It was true that he loved you. But it was also true that seeing MJ remember him made his heart beat a mile a minute.
Peter Parker was many things, but it was always clear to him that he had to do the right thing. He always (or at least almost always) knew it was the right thing to do. And, if he didn't, his Aunt May was there to advise him and tell him what to do.
But now May wasn't there. Maybe that's why it was so hard for him to give up on MJ. They were both the only women he had loved in a long time and he lost them on the same day. Having Michelle's memory back made him feel like he had at least gotten one of them back.
However, Parker didn't know if he needed MJ in his life. After all, he already had a life with you. HAD in the past tense. Because obviously you broke up with him after you saw him kissing his ex-girlfriend at the carnival.
Ned, on the other hand, still didn't remember him. And he probably never would again. MJ was a mere pure stroke of luck and the brown-haired boy didn't know if it was a blessing from the universe or if he just wanted to taunt him by putting him in a situation no one wants to be in.
Although he still wasn't sure if he would be able to forgive him for what he did. The brown-eyed man had to make a decision. Go back to MJ and bring his past with him into his present or try with you and continue with his present into the future.
Peter thought it best to go out on patrol and clear his head in the cool night air. That's when he decided he should give you the time you asked for and go out with MJ. Not as a couple, at least for now or maybe never, but as friends who haven't seen each other in a long time and need to unwind from everything that has happened in their lives.
You managed to catch a glimpse of them on one of their outings. They were walking around campus while eating a slice of pizza and laughing about God knows what.
Your heart sank even deeper into your chest. You were already a mess trying to live without him. Now you had to watch him be happy with her too?
Right there you felt selfish. You didn't want Peter to laugh with her. You wanted him to laugh with you.
The aforementioned wiped the corner of MJ's mouth with a napkin and a tear slid down your cheek as you thought of the many times he did the same for you.
'She's not me' you repeated to yourself. But even then you couldn't stop the hole growing in your chest at catastrophic speeds.
They were there, laughing and eating while you were miserable, and yet you couldn't hate Peter for loving her.  In spite of everything, you loved him.
Love is a double-edged sword.
Two days later you were watching Netflix in your bedroom when your phone vibrated on the coffee table. The screen was lit up with the word 'Peter♡' and your breath caught in your lungs. Should you answer it? your heart asked. Should you ignore it? your brain asked.
The heart won the battle this time. You answered the call.
"H-" you cleared your throat. You wanted to sound as neutral as possible. "Hello?"
"Y/n..." his voice was barely a whisper. "I didn't know if you were going to answer" his voice was so low that you had to turn up the volume as high as it would go and give him your full attention.
"What's wrong?" you asked.
"Nee-" he coughed. "I need your help...please" a faint whimper was heard from his side of the line and that was enough to worry you. Something wasn't right.
"Peter? Is everything all right? What's wrong?" your voice was now one of concern. You've never turned your back on those you love and care about, you weren't about to start now.
"I... I'm kind of hurt" he breathed again and your breath hitched. "It's not serious but-" he paused. "I can't get up." He confessed.
"Where are you?" you got up from the small couch to look for your shoes. "Peter?" You worried about his breathing on the other end of the line.
"In my apartment" he grunted in pain. "Shit."
"I'm on my way" you hung up the call and grabbed your keys. You still kept your copy of the ones to his apartment so getting inside it wasn't a problem.
You leave your keys on the plate on the counter and remove your shoes as quickly as you can before running to her room.
"Peter?" you ask when you don't see him and pause to scan his room.
"Here!" he groans. He made too much force when he spoke so you could hear him from the bathroom.
You walk in and see him lying in the unfilled bathtub. He was dressed in nothing but his boxers but it didn't bother you. It's not like you haven't seen him like this before.
"I tried to take a shower but I slipped and I don't have the strength or energy to get up" he smiles apologetically in your direction.
"I see..." you walk over and see his suit on the floor. "Why a shower?" you ask.
"The guy I stopped was doing weird experiments and threw some weird substance at me. I preferred not to take any chances and showered as soon as I got home" he clarified.
"Let me help you" you hold his arms and help him stand up.
Peter felt more than embarrassed at that moment. Because of what he had told you and because you were too good to say no to him when he needed help.
"Thank you" he sits on his bed and takes the towel you offer him so he can dry off.
"Is the medicine cabinet in the same place?" you ask. It's been a little over two weeks since you've been in his apartment.
Having him so close and yet so far away hurts like a million needles pricking your heart. But none of this was your fault, it was his and he's the one who should fix it. Even though you saw him so happy with MJ, you still had hope that he was going to choose you and come back to you.
It's okay to dream, isn't it?
You bandage his wounds after cleaning them and turn around so he can put on some boxers and gym shorts with a little privacy. You didn't leave the room because you were afraid he would fall while doing it so turning around was enough.
"Thank you for coming. I know I don't deserve it" he mumbles with his eyes on you as you turn to look at him.
"It's true... Maybe you don't deserve it coming from me" you shrug. "But I can't help but help the people I love.
'People I love' Peter's eyes sparkled at that phrase. You still loved him, that was more than enough.
"I really appreciate it" He smiles and watches you sit next to him on the bed.
"Why didn't you call MJ?" you ask abruptly. It was a question you asked yourself since he called you for help.
"She's busy, she couldn't come." He said without thinking.
And then reality hits you in the face and chills you like a bucket of cold water.
"So I was your second choice just because she couldn't" Your voice is serious. You just remembered how everything went down the drain in one night.
"What? No?" he frowns. "That's not what I wanted-"
"Save your excuses. I don't want to hear them," you stand up and look at him seriously. "You're already bandaged and in your bed. Next time, don't call me."
"Y/n. Please" he tries to get up but his side hurts "That's not what I meant I promise."
"Your promises don't mean anything to me anymore" you feel a lump in your throat. You are on the verge of tears. "You know one of the things that hurts me the most, Peter?"
"I-" he sighs and shakes his head. He wants to let you finish your point.
"You were indeed my first love, my first time, my first everything" the tears build up in your eyes but you're determined not to let them out. "And you didn't think about that before you stuck your tongue in her mouth. I bet your heart never beat for me like it does for her."
The brown-eyed man was about to say something until you both hear the sound of someone knocking at the door you watch Peter get up and walk to open it.
You walk behind him only because you know it's time to go. You shouldn't have come in the first place.
When Peter opens the door, the person behind it is MJ.
"You should give me a copy of the key" she laughs lightly.
"Keep mine" you put on your shoes and grab your purse. You walk over to the plate where you left them before and put them in her hand. "I won't be needing them anymore" you walk out of the apartment and she is both surprised and confused.
Another two weeks passed. Peter felt empty again. Just like he felt when he lost MJ and Ned in the first place but worse because not only had he lost you. He had let you down completely.
Spiderman became clumsy on his nightly patrols, he didn't pay attention and classes and even less when MJ talked to him. Even though he knew she was just trying to make him feel better.
"Peter?" she asks. "Peter!" She snaps her fingers in front of his face and sighs heavily.
"Yes?" He looks at you but his gaze is still lost.
"You're thinking about her, aren't you?" she asks.
"How could I not when she's right here" he shows you his pencil.
"What do you mean right here?" MJ asks with a frown.
"Yes, it's right here. She's the one who gave me this pencil" he sighs. "And she's over there too" he points to the girl sitting a couple of tables away from where they were sitting. "That girl has her same color hair" he looks at his fingers "but not just over there" he points to a boy with a can in his hand. "That boy is drinking his favorite drink." He snorts. "Everything in this damn library reminds me of her."
"Why haven't you tried talking to her then?" he shrugs.
"Because I'm lousy with words, MJ. Whenever I try to tell her something, she ends up misunderstanding it because it was me in the first place who didn't know how to use the right words" he runs his hands over his face.
"Then don't talk to her" she shrugs.
The brown-haired boy looks at her with a frown. "That's supposed to solve my problems? Thanks MJ." She rolls her eyes.
"Stop your sarcasm," the chestnut-haired girl points
Her finger at him. "I mean maybe I should be the one to talk to her." He sighs. "I shouldn't have kissed you, Peter. I didn't know you had a girlfriend."
"MJ..." Peter sighs and takes her hand. "I was the one who shouldn't have kissed you having a girlfriend. It wasn't your fault, it was mine." He assures her. "I'm the one who should fix this."
Michelle nods and looks to her left. There you were. Watching as Peter held her hand just as he held yours. You shouldn't care, it's been a month since you and Parker broke up but it still hurts like hell.
MJ saw you pull back quickly before she could separate her hands from Peter's. "At least she knows you and I aren't dating?" she asks and Peter denies.
"No, I've tried to tell her but me and my big mouth always say something else and I hurt her more than I manage to fix it." He sighs heavily.
"What? She still thinks that you and I...?" MJ pauses.
"Yup." Peter nods and fixes his gaze on the floor.
"Peter... that's not fair" he sighs and shakes his head.
Parker knows. He knows it's not fair but he already said it, he's not good with words.
"Everything I say ends up being misinterpreted and it's my fault!" He covers his face with his hands. "Help, MJ. Please."
"And if instead of using words you take action?" proposes the brunette.
"What do you mean by that?" The boy raises an eyebrow. "You'll have to be more specific."
"God... you're so smart but so dumb at the same time, how is that possible?" She rolls her eyes. "You have to do something for her, something she can't refuse or misunderstand, and then explain everything to her, Peter. Be honest."
"You're right," he nods and sighs. "No more secrets."
Peter was already planning something in his mind. Something that would make you either forgive him or wish you never saw him again. That was up to you.
However, He had to move and plan a little faster. Your heart still loved him, true, but it wasn't closed to moving on and rejecting Parker altogether.
Austin, a classmate who asked you out before you and Peter dated, found out about your breakup with him and was determined not to pass up the opportunity that was once taken away from him.
Tick tock, Peter. Your time is running out.

Your slippers shuffled against the ground as you stepped outside onto the porch. With a big blanket around your shoulders and a warm mug in each hand, you walked up to Steve who had been sitting on the love seat all by himself for about half an hour now.
His eyes were fixed on the wooden deck railing, but fondly found your face as you approached in all your comfortable glory.
"A hot latte for the hottie?" You said, handing him a mug of foamy, vanilla goodness.
His smile spread as fast as his cheeks blushed. "Thank you, baby doll."
"Anything for you."
After his gentle hands grabbed the mug from yours, you set your own coffee down for a moment sit next to him and wrap the blanket around both of your shoulders. He was quick to eat up your company, and shuffle closer to you for warmth.
It was that weird time of year where mornings and nights were cold, but midday was blazing. You were well equipped with leggings and a hoodie with thick warm socks that Steve was quite jealous of, while he was in a T-shirt and joggers. But your blanket, body heat, and the hot coffee warmed his body and his heart.
It had been a few days since half of humanity returned, and you were trying to find a good balance of giving him the space he needed to process the events and grieve his friends, time to reconnect with Bucky, all while trying to make sure you were there for him.
As of now it looked like cuddles and long conversations before bed, you sneaking off and working from 4 in the morning to around 2 in the afternoon, then coming home usually to an empty house since the two boys were out doing whatever Steve's and Bucky's do, then the three of you would have dinner together and you'd be back off to bed.
But today was different. You decided not to work at the bakery today because you knew Bucky was going to go tour apartments near by to see if maybe there was a place worth staying near his best friend for, and Steve would be on his own otherwise. Though he was perfectly capable of getting through a hard time on his own, it was always easier when the two of you were together.
With you settled next to him, his eyes fixed right back to where they were before. You thought he was looking out into the neighborhood, until your eyes caught glimpse of a tiny little creature. A spider spinning a web. Not just any spider, but an all black spider with a small red shape on its back.
A black widow.
You immediately understood where his brain was and what it was thinking about, you didn't even have to exchange words when he knew you saw it too. Together you just sat, sipped, and thought about your dear friend. But the more you thought, the more your heart hurt for Steve, so your mug was sat on the floor once again so you could wrap an arm around his shoulders and hold him closer.
Your actions made him grin, and his hand found your thigh. It squeezed in appreciation.
"Way back when we fought Ultron, we all thought for a brief moment that all of us would die in Sokovia. When I brought up that possibility, all she said was that she would never find a prettier view anywhere else than being that high up in the sky." He finally broke the silence. "I was admittedly a little scared, and she was calm as could be. Using her skills to make a positive difference in the world was all she thought she had. She was okay with dying as long as it was at the hands of the greater good."
You nodded, acknowledging that you were listening but understanding he probably wasn't looking for a response yet.
"Clint told us she seemed completely at peace with her decision, like there was no second question. She knew that's what she wanted. She died for the greater good. I've always been scared of dying in battle for any reason. I made peace with it, I accepted that it could happen, but I was always scared that it would. I know that's not what I want."
Now, you knew what this conversation was about. This is what's been looming over his head for months, the moment you knew was coming.
He finally said it.
"That's how I know I can't do this anymore." His voice dropped to almost a whisper.
Usually, those words coming from a lovers mouth were the worst words anyone could hear. But in this context, you were happy for him.
"I know you can't." You nodded with a sympathetic tone.
"You're not even going to ask me to clarify?" Steve questioned.
"I already know. I've always known." Your small, delicate smile brought him comfort. "Since the moment I found out that you were Captain America I've known two things to be true. The first one being that there was nothing you could do to scare me away, and the second being that your time in the suit was coming to an end."
"Seems like that came easier to you than it did to me." Steve noted, feeling lighter now that he's told you. "It's been looming over me for years, and it wasn't a choice I made lightly."
"Of course it wasn't." You agreed. "I've watched you quietly struggle with this since the day we met. All I've ever wanted for you was to find happiness."
"I had a sense of guilt giving it up, like people would die if I didn't keep doing this, but I know now that the truth is there was a time before me and there will be a time after me in which everyone manages just fine." He continued. "I've been at this for far longer than I think anyone expected, and I know it's time to pass the shield."
"I'm happy for you." You stated, your hand now playing with the hair on the back of his head. "I genuinely am. And I'm proud of you. I can't imagine any of your life has been easy, and choosing to try a new path that leads to an easier, more peaceful life is exactly what you've always deserved."
"I just want you to know I wouldn't have made this choice of it stopped me from taking care of us at any point." Steve stressed. "Our life together is now number one with no set backs. Please take this in the most humble and sincere way I could possibly say this, but a lack of income going forward is not anything we need to be concerned about. We're set, and any future kids we could possibly want are set."
You smiled at his words. "Honey, even if you had less than a dollar to your name, I'd still want you to make this choice. I also mean this very sincerely and humbly, but the bakery is doing really well. I would've been happy to make you a stay at home Dad."
"So this is it." Steve shrugged. "I'll go on one more mission to put the stones back exactly where they need to be, pass the shield over to Sam and be done. The last few days of being Captain America, then it'll be the first days of the rest of our lives."
"I've always thought Steve was cooler than Cap, by the way." You grinned, head landing on his shoulder.
"You're just saying that to make me feel better." Steve giggled, snuggling further next to you. "Thank you for all of your support. It means a lot to me. You've put up with a lot to accommodate what I do. None of it when by without appreciation."
"You do a lot to support me too, at this point, I think the bakery would fall apart without you and all the little things you do for us. They add up, and it makes a massive impact on the way everyone functions and business flows." You reminded him. "We're a team, Love. I'll always have your back and I know you always have mine. I can't wait to see what this next chapter looks like for us."
"I don't think I could properly express how excited I am about it right now amidst all of this chaos, but if I think about it for too long I'll cry." Steve giggled.
"It's okay, I believe you." You smiled.
"And now that the ball is rolling on the bakery in New York, I just feel really hopeful that I'll be busy regardless of the fact that I'm unemployed now."
You laughed as you moved your arm down to hold his hand instead. "I think a life with me is a life with the bakeries. I don't think that's considered unemployment."
"Can I apply for a job at Nice to be Kneaded?" Steve joked. "It'll keep me busy."
"Sure thing, I'll forward you the email you can send in your resume and fill out an application."
"Ugh I'm never gonna get the job." Steve pouted.
"Why not?"
"I haven't updated my resume since 1942, and there's a 66 year gap." He explained. "And the owner of the bakery is so beautiful, I'm going to be fumbling over my words the entire interview!"
Your smile widened, as did the swell of your heart. "I actually know her, I'll put in a good word for you."
"Thank you, Sunflower, that would be great." He smiled and squeezed your hand.
"...Stevie?" You questioned softly.
"Hmm?"
"We don't have to kill it, but that spider can't stay there."
Steve chuckled at your words. "It is pretty terrifying, isn't it?"
"Does Captain America protect people against scary venomous spiders?"
"Oh... did you not just hear the whole 'I'm retiring' part of the conversation?" Steve joked.
"Okay... will my big, strong boyfriend protect me against the scary venomous spider?"
"...but.... I'm scared of spiders" his voice jumped up an octave or two, and lowered in volume earning your giggles.
"Maybe we can just burn the house down?" You suggested.
"Yeah, let's do that." Steve agreed with a big smile. "Or we can relocate it together"
"Awwww!" You cooed unenthusiastically. "How about we wait for Bucky to get back and he can help us?"
"That's the best idea yet"
"At least you have a big, strong boyfriend that'll relocate scary spiders for you!" You jokingly enthused.
Steve's jaw dropped, but his smile and giggles prevailed through his feigned display of betrayal. "You know what?! That spider is gonna come bite you!"
"Not under Bucky's watch, it won't" You laughed.
"It's gonna come all the way over here and crawl aaaalllllllllll the way up your arm" With his middle and index fingers, they climbed up your arm with a feathery light touch as to tickle you on purpose. Your laugh was music to his ears as his hand made it to your neck, then he started tickling right at the base of your shoulder on purpose. "And it's gonna bite you right here for being so mean to me!"
As if it was the most contagious disease known to man, your happiness and laughter seeped into his heart and soul, and just being near you had him feeling the same way. Faster than he could process, you were both laughing as he one-handedly tried to fight off your attempts at giving him spider bites through the tiniest, gentlest pinches he's ever felt in his life.
The two of you were too occupied in each others chaos to notice Georgia walking across the street for a chat. Admittedly, she also got lost in the scene happening in front of her.
Your arms flying at Steve as uncontrollable laughter and smiles flew past each other, Steve trying to block your swift hands with only one of his arms. Then, his mug slipped out of his other hand and splashed coffee all over his lap, onto the blanket, and the mug shattered onto the deck.
For a moment, Georgia recoiled, fully prepared to walk away when Steve inevitably got angry at you for the the loss of a mug and a perfectly good cup of coffee.
But instead, she was pleasantly surprised when there was a pause in all movement and laughter, both of you looked down at the mess all over Steve and the porch, then your eyes met each others again, and the two of you bursted out in even more laughter.
"Oh no! Was that hot? Are you okay?" Your hand grabbed into his upper arm, questioning between laughter. "I'm sorry!"
"Not hot, I'm fine." He chuckled, patting the top of your thigh twice. "Don't be sorry! Let me get rid of this broken glass real quick so you don't cut yoursel- oh. Hi, Georgia."
"Hi, sorry to interrupt." She slowly walked up the steps.
"Oh my goodness, how are you feeling?!" You questioned, feeling indifferent about her approaching you and Steve.
"A lot better. I just uh, I just wanted to come over and thank you guys for your help. I don't remember much of what happened but Adeline from two doors down told me about it. You had no reason to help, let alone bring flowers and check on on me multiple times. So, again, thank you."
"We had reason to help," Steve cut in, remembering your sad years over your strained relationship with your once dear friend. He was committed to making this work for you. "whether you believe it or not, we care about you."
"I certainly understand that now." Georgia nodded her head.
"How has Michael been since he's been back? Is he adjusting okay?" You asked, having felt worried about him since the snap.
"He's been alright, it's been a bit of a shock to him but that's to be expected. He was focused on taking care of me but now that I'm better I think he's really processing the events that took place." She explained. "Steve, I also heard you got injured pretty badly in battle. Are you alright?"
Her concern had over his well-being had him admittedly surprised. "I did get bit roughed up but I'm a lot better now, thank you."
"I owe you an overdue apology." Georgia sincerely stated. "All the years you've been here, I wildly misinterpreted your character. It's clear to me now that I let the media, and Michael's opinion of you get into my head at the time you found your way to Greenwood. You're a good man, and I can tell you're an even better guy for the sweetest little lady in the whole town. I can tell you two love each other very much, and I hope you understand I only ever wanted what was best for her."
"I appreciate your apology." Steve nodded. "I think we both agree and see eye to eye on a lot of things, especially only ever wanting what's best for this sweet girl. But I'm not the only one you owe an apology to."
"I agree." Georgia nodded. She approached you with small apprehensive steps, then squatted down in front of your seat and placed her hand over yours. "Baby girl, I'm sorry."
You nodded, and swallowed the lump in your throat.
"I am. Really, really sorry." She squeezed your hand. "You are and always have been one smart, tough cookie and I should've trusted you to make good choices for yourself. I was wrong. I'm happy you have him, and I'm proud of the life you've created for yourself. It makes me happy to see you doing well. It's obvious that you two love each other very much, and I'm sorry for not seeing that until now."
"Thank you" You accepted. Though you would love nothing more than to have things go back to the way it used to be, Steve has taught you a lot about only accepting what's of value to you. Though him, you learned that the bare minimum wasn't the only treatment you should accept in life. He picked your standards up off the floor and held them above the ground. If Georgia wanted a place back in your life, she would have to fight for it. "I love you, and care about you so much. I always have, and I always will. I think this is a good start to reestablishing our friendship, but you know it's gonna take some time?"
Though this challenge was one for her to face, Georgia was proud to see you finally setting healthy boundaries for yourself. The version of you that she was friends with many years ago was a chronic people pleaser who couldn't get any words to leave her mouth that could possibly be taken badly. This version of you was much different, and far more healed and healthy.
“Of course.” She nodded in understanding
Standing up and letting your hand go, she turned to Steve once more. "And Steve, thank you for your service. I really appreciate and respect what you put on the line to save everyone we lost."
"No problem." He nodded before Georgia walked off right back into her own house.
Silence fell between you two for a few moments after her front door closed, until you broke it. "I never thought that would happen."
“Neither did I.” Steve stared blankly across the street.
More silence.
"Do you think she still would've apologized if she knew we were housing Bucky for the time being?" You questioned.
"Some things are better left unsaid." Steve shrugged.
More silence.
"I've been sitting in a puddle of vanilla latte for 5 minutes." Steve stated.
Then your eyes met his, looked down at his lap that was drenched in coffee, then back up at his face.
Once again, you two bursted out into laughter.
After some scrubbing, googling how to get coffee stains out of clothes, a shower, and a load of laundry later, it was like the coffee incident never happened.
Before you knew it, you and Steve were back in New York for a handful of different reasons. The first being location scouting for the new bakery. You dragged Steve around the city for 3 full days with a contractor and a financial advisor, touring empty business slots. Steve kept joking that you were the Prince Charming of bakery owners, you had a theoretical glass slipper and if one of the buildings didn't perfectly fit, it was an automatic no.
But eventually you found the perfect new home for the bakery. And wildly enough, it was in Brooklyn. The entirety of your search, Steve would make a little half-joke half-serious remark that everything good in the city was in Brooklyn. Sure enough, the moment you stepped foot into building, it was an automatic yes. You signed the lease right then and there, and the contractor started taking measurements as you sat in a pretty office with floor to ceiling windows signing paper after paper.
The only person happier than you about this decision was Steve, who had pointed out that the apartment he used to live in with his mom was just down the block. He also told you about how in building the bakery would now be in, used to be a little bodega where him and his Mom would walk to just to buy marshmallow sandwich cookies.
It made you incredibly happy knowing that such a special place to Steve, where he already had fond memories of getting sweet treats would now turn into a whole new place full of even sweeter treats. You'd like to believe that somewhere out there, Sarah Rogers led you to this corner location just to make his boy happy.
That same day, after all the paperwork was done and your wrist hurt from signing the lease agreement, you and Steve walked hand and hand through the streets of Brooklyn. The two of you had done this together many times before, but each time unlocked a special memory for him, and it always made you happy to learn more about who he was before the war.
This time he walked you along the route he used to take on his bike when he worked as a paper boy to put himself through art school. You passed by the apartment he lived in immediately after his Mom died, and surprisingly enough, it looked exactly the same on the outside. Then, you did what had to be done.
Hand in hand, you walked into a bodega and found the marshmallow cookies. You'd never had them before, but apparently they were one of the most popular treats in the 30's and Sarah adored them. After buying a pack of them, ripping them open and doing a little cheers, you each took and bite of the two crunchy vanilla cookies with marshmallow fluff in the center.
You could see the nostalgia flooding his brain, and all you could do was smile. It was the sweetest celebration you could've ever wanted for such a momentous occasion.
Then, you two went upstate for Tony's funeral.
Steve told you over and over again that you didn't have to go. He knew it would be difficult for the Avengers, and even worse for Pepper and Morgan who you'd never met. You were here for work, and already taking time to support him on his last mission as Captain America, and he felt guilty taking even more of your time.
But as he zipped up the back of your black dress, and you straighten out his tie, you reassured him that you wouldn't miss it for the world. He needed you there even though he wouldn't admit it, and you wanted a chance to see the Avengers again, even under such a terrible circumstance.
The two of you stated the night near the cabin after the funeral. The lake was gorgeous, and the cabin you rented was beautiful. It was quiet, quaint, and Sam and Bucky stayed the night with you guys as well.
You could tell the day had taken an emotional toll on them, where the boys used to bounce off the walls when they were all together, they just sat and held conversation instead. One by one the boys knocked out. Steve was first, he fell asleep sitting next to you on the couch. His head fell lnto your shoulder and his face nuzzled into his neck. Then Bucky lost the battle on the arm chair, leaving just you and Sam chatting for hours.
Conversation came easy between you, and you really enjoyed talking to him. You even got a little sad knowing that it was getting late, and Steve had a big day in the morning so you had to cut the conversation off and get him to bed.
Then, the monumental day came.
Steve's last mission.
He expected to have a lot of sadness letting go of such a monumental part of his life, but as he suited up for the very last time he looked in the mirror and felt like he barely even recognized the reflection anymore.
Your arms snaked around his stomach from behind and you rocked forward onto your tippy toes to give him a kiss on the cheek before looking at him through the mirror. Only then did he feel like himself again.
"Lookin' good, Baby." Your cheeky smile made an appearance. "Feelin' good?"
"Surprisingly, yes." He responded with a grin, his half gloved hands held onto your arms. "I'm excited to get it over with, so ready to turn a new page."
"I think Sam is going to be honored. You're making a really good choice passing him the mantle." You reassured.
"I think so too." He grinned.
"One last picture before you go?" You asked.
"Whatever you want." He agreed.
Like a proud Mom, you took a few pictures of the two of you through the mirror, and a few of just him. Then, you, Steve, Sam, Bucky, and Bruce all met up at the smaller time travel machine that Bruce put together and got ready for Steve's last run.
You waited patiently as they briefed, powered up the Time Machine, and got all of their odds and ends in place.
Once it was good to go, everyone got a hug just in case, except for you that got a hug and a kiss. What could he say? You were just special like that.
"Still got it?" You asked, as always before sending him off.
"Always!" Out of his pocket, he pulled the $20 between his fingers to show you before putting it back in. "Got a little something extra this time too"
Steve grinned as he picked up mjolnir, knowing it was the first time you ever saw him wield the hammer. Then, the cheeky little shit winked at you, earning a laugh and a shake of your head.
"Good luck, baby. It's only the weight entire timeline as we know it on your shoulders, so, no pressure." You smiled.
"No pressure at all, easy peasy." He agreed, stepping onto the platform.
"Go get 'em Cap. Love you!"
"Love you more."
Then you had the greatest privilege of all, saluting the captain for the very last time.
He smiled, nodded, Bruce counted down, then he was gone.
Of course time worked differently for the person time traveling, so even though he was only gone for about a minute or two for you, for him it was hours.
You and Bucky both knew what was about to happen, so the two of you took a physical and mental step back as you waited for his arrival home.
Bruce counted down once more before bringing him back, and you saw him immediately. He purposefully arrived away from the machine, wanting to have a special moment alone with Sam.
He sat alone on a bench looking out onto the lake, no longer in his suit, but in some of his old clothes he got from his place a few years ago. Shield in hand, but in a leather case.
"Where is he? I don't see him?" Bruce questioned.
"Well bring him back!" Sam panicked.
"I did, I thought I-"
"Then where is he?"
"Guys." You cut in. They both stopped and looked at you. Then you pointed at the bench. "Over there."
Both of them looked at you with a confused expression on their face, until Bucky elaborated. "That's for you, Sam."
"Me?" He raised an eyebrow.
"You" you confirmed with a prideful grin.
He hesitantly made his way towards Steve, and watched the conversation from a distance. There wasn't very many words that needed to be exchanged, but even just thinking about how Steve was taking his life into his own hands and making such a big change for the happiness of his own self for once had you choked up.
Just a few weeks ago, he couldn't even fathom fighting for himself. Now, he had moved an entire mountain for his own future.
While this was happening, Bucky filled Bruce in on what was going on. You could hear their conversation, but your eyes never left Sam and Steve as you leaned against a tree.
A few moments went by before the two boys shared a nice hug, Steve stood up without his shield and made his way over to you.
Without a word and a big smile on his face, he reached his hand out to hold yours. Your connected arms swung as you made the shirt walk back into the cabin.
It wasn't until you both stepped inside and closed the door behind you that your arms flew around his neck and his lips pressed against yours.
"Congratulations, Baby!" You said enthusiastically.
"Thank you, Sunflower!" His smile was so uncontrollable he couldn't even get his lips to close enough to kiss you again even if he tried. "Couldn't have done it without you."
"I brought something to celebrate" You noted with a smile just as big as his.
"Champagne?" He questioned.
"Even better," you denied, walking away into the kitchen before pulling something out of the cabinet. You hid it behind your back before approaching him again. "Hold out your hands!"
"Okay" he giggled.
Swiftly, you placed a package of marshmallow cookies in his hands and his smile widened.
"I've been thinking about your Mom a lot since I got the place in Brooklyn, and I was thinking about how happy she would probably be if she knew you were taking a step down from fighting literal wars, going to space, and time traveling." You explained.
"Oh, if she knew anything about what I've been up to since she's passed, I think I would've given her a heart attack." Steve agreed, feeling a bit emotional knowing someone has been thinking of her just as often as he does.
"She deserves to be included in this celebration, considering she made you, and you've been worrying her from her peaceful rest since the moment you lied on your enlistment form."
"That, she does." Steve agreed and handed you a cookie before grabbing his own.
You held it up a bit as you presented a toast. "To the Rogers finding peace."
He giggled at your words before tapping his cookie against yours and eating it. Amused that this was the second time this week the two of you had cheered and celebrated with marshmallow cookies.
Steve finished chewing, swallowed, then an expression you didn't quite recognize spread across his face. It was like he wanted to tell you something, but hesitated and was now internally analyzing the words before they left his lips.
"What?" You asked, cocking your head to the side.
"Did you notice I was a few seconds late?" He asked.
You knew there was a statement beneath the question he asked. The wheels started turning as you wondered what he was getting on about. "I did. A few seconds for us was a few hours for you... what did you do?" You raised a curious bow.
"You know, that essay you wrote about Peggy really stuck with me." He started, you immediately smiled. "Had me thinking a lot about how I found a lot of peace over the lack of control while being in the ice because I got to know what happened to her. She got married to a man I rescued in the war, had kids, lived a full life."
"I already knew that, because I wrote that essay!" You joked, earning a good laugh from Steve.
"Very smart! Remind me to give you a gold star later!" He chuckled. "But she never got that for me, so I took your advice and paid her a visit."
"You just saw Peggy?!" You questioned with wide, sparkly eyes.
"I did." He told you, still a little cautious in not wanting to offend you. "Obviously she was a little shocked because she thought I was dead, but we sat down and had a nice conversation about what had happened and what was gonna happen. But most importantly I met her kids, and told her about you and that essay you wrote."
"No way!" Your smile widened, and your hands found his shoulders.
"Yes way! She was genuinely delighted to hear about us, and gave her best wishes. She also wanted me to pass along a hello to you, and let you know that she thinks you're beautiful. Oh, and she’s that I get all the cookies I want whenever I want them.”
“Stop it, that’s so cute!” You squeaked. “This is like the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me! And you got more closure, which is incredible! What a great day. I’m so happy for you, but I’m also just so happy in general. What an honor”
“I love you, Baby." Steve stated with a big smile, hands pulling you close again when they found their favorite spot on your hips. "I'm so thankful every single day that I found you. You've been a beacon of light in my life, I wouldn't have ever made it here without you to guide me."
"I love you too." You sighed contently, as his arms wrapped around you. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. We deserve this life together."
"We've been through so much to get to this moment. Thanks for sticking with me no matter what. I know it was hard and painful, and definitely illegal at one point, but I hope now I can prove to you that it was worth it."
"You don't have to prove it. You already did. It's been worth it the entire time, and I'll always choose you no matter how illegal it becomes." You smiled and squeezed him tight. "You're the bestest, coolest, loveliest human I've ever met."
"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." He kissed the top of your head.
"You've gotta propose for that one, Love." You poked.
"I'm working on it!" He said defensively, causing you to laugh.
And working on it he was. Because even though life proceeded as normal when you made it back to Greenwood, there was still a lot happening.
Bucky found a cute little apartment that was perfect for him not even two blocks away from the new bakery in Brooklyn. It felt like the perfect middle ground of still being close to you and Steve, all while still being able to live where he wanted geographically.
Shortly after Bucky moved out, you and Steve headed out on a trip to California to visit your Mom. This was a tricky one for Steve, because your relationship with you Mom was a tricky one for you.
Although your relationship with her was something you were actively improving since she came back from the snap, Steve still knew that her approval of him didn't mean much to you. But he was still old fashioned in the sense that he still at least wanted to meet her, and ask her for permission to propose to you before he popped the question.
Whether he felt like her permission or lack there of would actually make a difference for him taking what he wanted was a wash, but he wanted to do it anyways just to be able to know that he tried at the very least.
This was his second time visiting California with you, and he loved it just as much this time around. You guys stayed in your childhood bedroom at your Mom's house that resided in a lazy town on the bay.
He learned a lot about you from the charm of the house alone. The pictures on the walls of baby you, teenage you, and early adulthood you. Conversations exchanged with your mom over breakfast where she never missed an opportunity to share her favorite stories of your antics growing up. He also learned a lot about your Dad because of how frequently he came up in almost every conversation, and he desperately wished he could've met him. Just from what he's heard, he could tell a lot of who you were came from him.
Every night, you and Steve would go out onto the dock to watch the sunset and listen to music together.
You shared stories with him about what felt like endless hours of you sitting on the dock with your dad. Back then, the hours felt long and gruesome. As if sitting and watching the little creatures in the water beneath you was some sort of torture, but as you grew up and towards the end of his life, it became a sanctuary. It was the only place he seemed to be truly calm and relaxed as his memories and executive function left him. By that point, you wished the hours were endless rather than having a metaphorical clock ticking over his head.
Then, when the moon was out and the sky was dark it would somehow evolve into you and Steve slow dancing under the stars.
During the day you'd take him out and show him all of your favorite old spots. Hole in the wall food joints, family owned ice cream shops, the tide pools, and even long drives up the coast to the same music you would dance with him.
It was relaxed, easy, and Steve passed your Mom's unspoken test with flying colors. He sneakily got her approval two days before you guys left California while you were in the shower.
She was so happy about it that Steve almost had to keep you away from her as much as he could so she didn't ruin the surprise.
Then, on your last night in town, you guys walked over to the dock just like every other night since you've been here. Only this time, it was a little later. Dinner ran late so by the time you made it out for one last night, the sun was already setting.
But it was okay, because when the two of you approached hand in hand, and he watched your face twist up with a billion different emotions when you realized that the dock was covered in flowers and lit up with the soft golden glow of dozens of candles, it was all worth it.
At first you were sad because you thought it was for someone else, and the dock was now unusable for you and Steve on your last night. But as he continued walking towards it, and his hand holding yours was shaking and a little clammy, only then did you realize what was happening.
He could barely even get a single word out, let alone present the ring to you and get down on one knee before you were already saying yes. But he was thankful for your enthusiasm, because it instantly took his nerves away.
The ring was perfect, the proposal was perfect, and dancing under the twinkling stars and amongst the burning candles was perfect.
Your fiancé was perfect.
Knowing that he listened to your stories and took them to heart, and incorporating a special place that reminded you of your dad into your love story made you weep happy tears and he held you close and swayed you to the music.
Happy tears seemed to be a common occurrence between the two of you recently, and each little drop was well deserved and worked for.
That night when you got back to your Mom's place, you didn't even have to tell her the news before she flung her arms around you and Steve at the same time in a big bear hug. It was safe to say she was over the moon.
Just to make things even better, that night you and your Mom ended up having a really nice heart to heart. A lot of the issues you've had with her since you were little were addressed, and she apologized for encouraging you to stay with your ex after she realized how bad the relationship actually was. For the first time ever, she told you how proud of you she was, and how amazing you were for the success of the bakery. She promised to visit you out in Greenwood again, and see the bakery and Brooklyn on opening day.
For a little while, your life had felt like an embarrassment of riches, like or was going just a little too well for just a little too long.
Especially when Steve set off on a personal journey of trying to discover who he really was without jumping from battle to battle. It felt like every day the two of you would set off on a little adventure to try out something new.
Between work going so well, and all the fun dates you were going it, it felt like a smile didn't leave your face for months.
Long drives to little towns in the area, pottery and ceramics classes, yoga, pilates, meeting new friends at bars, then getting dragged home and put to bed, hosting dinner parties with you little Greenwood family, then doing the same thing all over again but in Brooklyn with friends you had made over in the big city. It was exciting, new, and you'd never seen Steve quite so radiant before.
Life was easy for a while, but with highs came lows that couldn't be ignored. The closer opening came for the Brooklyn bakery, the harsher the deadlines, and the more stressed you became.
Focusing on one bakery alone was a full time job in itself, but adding in another one had you practically ripping your hair out in the final few months.
All the choices fell on you, all of the paperwork fell on you, and all of the management choices that still needed to be made for the Greenwood bakery were on you as well, and there were no amount of shoulder massages and support Steve could give you to change that.
It was pretty much accepted that the only way out was through, and it would get much much easier once the new team of employees were trained and the doors were opened.
However, the stress took a toll on your body and landed you in the emergency room one fateful night. For the past year, your periods had become more and more painful. The second day of your cycle every since month Steve would try his best to console you through the pain. Hugs, back rubs, heating pads, painkillers, wasn't enough this time around.
You were throwing up, full body chills, goosebumps raised on your skin, and he couldn't get you to uncurl yourself from the tightest little ball unless it was to roll around in discomfort or getting up to vomit again. As much as it hurt his heart to have to bring you somewhere that had such traumatic experiences associated with it, you tapped out. The pain was so bad that you'd rather go to the emergency room than deal with it any more.
Luckily, the worst part was sitting in the waiting room. You sat curled up on his lap, and he held you so snug to him, it's like he was trying to hide you away from all the awful memories. When they finally took you back, they gave you so many pain killers that you were higher than a kite for the rest of it. Lots of exams, two doctors appointments, and a few medical bills later, they decided it was your birth control that needed to be switched.
All was well until a few months later when you woke up nauseous, and ravenously hungry at the same time. Having pushed through it, and gone to work, you called Steve on your lunch break to rant about how grouchy you felt, and how everything was getting on your last nerve.
He decided to stop by and drop off your favorite food to cheer you up since you still had a long day ahead of you. When he gave you a big long hug to try and make you feel better, you started crying because of how nice he was.
That's when it clicked in his head that your period was a whole week late. He brought it up cautiously, and you both agreed that you'd be taking a pregnancy test after work.
Steve picked up a few different kinds from the store, and both of you separately processed what this all meant while waiting for the time to come to have a real answer.
By the time you had gotten off of work and Steve ushered you straight up the stairs, you had gone through all seven stages of grief, and acceptance for whatever the future held for you. Mostly because you knew that no matter what, Steve would be incredible, and you were ready to take on anything life threw your way as long as he was there to hold your hand through it.
That's exactly what he did. You took the test, flipped it face down, and brought it out into the bedroom where you snuggled up together and for three whole minutes, he comforted you and reminded you that it would be okay no matter what.
The timer he set on his phone went off, you asked him to flip the test over.
Both of you read it at the same time, Negative.
Your eyes found each others faces to gauge any sort of reaction. He saw your lip wobbling and tears pooling in your lash line, and you saw him trying his absolute best to hide every drop of disappointment.
"Hey, it's okay." He reminded you with nothing louder than a soft whisper. When his gentle hands tucked your hair out of your face, and he grinned just to bring you some comfort, you fell apart. "It's okay."
"I'm sorry" You apologized, shoving your face into his chest. You didn't know if the apology was for your emotions or the disappointment you were both feeling but left unspoken.
"Don't you dare apologize, my love." He said sweetly, protectively cradling the back of your head. "All I wanted was your health to be a priority, that's why the test was important. As long as you're okay, I'm okay too."
As always, you took his words to heart. You never expected to be so disappointed by the negative result when you weren't actively trying to get pregnant in the first place. You also weren't expecting to be so effected by the tiniest shimmer of sadness in Steve's eyes when he read the test.
Your period showed up the next day, but the thought of having a baby intruded your every waking thought for the next month. It felt like the only time you weren't actively thinking about it was when you were working, but even then, you'd read deadlines printed on papers and wonder if now was a good time.
But then you realized now was a great time. The bakery was set to open in just a few short months, then most of the responsibility would be handed over to staff who was training hard to handle it. Steve was doing better now than ever, and wedding planning hadn't even started yet.
Much like Steve didn't want to propose until he retired, you didn't want to plan a wedding until the bakery was open for business.
With downtime promised in the future, and a sparkly engagement ring on your finger that reminded you of your sweet handsome boy, you decided to just talk to him about the possibility of even just trying.
Just like always, Steve was a thoughtful guy. He choose all of his words carefully through all of your long conversations about the decision to have a kid. You knew he so badly wanted to say yes, in fact, you swore if he was a dog his tail would be wagging every time he even thought about it. But it was a big choice and a huge life change, he wanted to make sure it was really something you wanted and not something you felt pressured into since that one fateful day.
It took 3 more weeks before both of you were wholeheartedly committed to the endeavor with the agreement and the knowledge that it might mot happen right away.
The prospect settled in your mind, and you just enjoyed the journey while you allowed work to be your main priority at the moment. And with so many deadlines approaching, you really didn't have any other choice than to just let the universe work it's magic.
The closer opening day became, it was like the bakery had become your and Steve's child. The two for you spent weeks in the store in Brooklyn painting walls, assembling endless amounts of furniture, directing deliveries, and decorating the lobby to live up to the very high standards of the Greenwood location.
By the time the kitchen was fully stocked, employees were trained, and the whole space was perfect from head to toe, you were both exhausted.
The very last night before opening, you checked every last screw, every bulb in the bake case, every seam in the wallpaper, and quality controlled every last desert on a finalized menu, you and Steve quite literally laid sprawled out on the floor of the lobby.
Steve took a good look around, and was so incredibly proud of all the blood, sweat, and tears you shed to make your dreams come true. He knew that if his mom was around to see what this building had turned into if not her beloved bodega, she would be absolutely thrilled to have something like this in the neighborhood.
You laid flat on your back, looking up at the expertly painted ceiling mural and the chandelier, every crystal hung from it by the will of your own two hands.
Then, your rolled over onto your stomach, and your hand pat right in the center of Steve's chest.
"It's midnight, and I have to be back here at 4 in the morning. Maybe I should just have a sleepover." Your exhausted grin took over when you saw his sleepy face.
"You should get a few hours of real sleep before your big day, pretty lady." Steve denied, getting up off the floor and offering his hands to pull you up off the floor. "It looks incredible, you did an amazing job as always."
"It's funny that you think I'll get any sleep at all" You stood, then gave him a kiss. "I really couldn't have done it without your help, so, thank you, Baby."
"Anything for you." He smiled. "I can't wait to see it in the morning, I have butterflies just thinking about this place full of people."
"You and me both." You squeezed his hand. "You don't think the rug clashes with the wallpaper? And the chairs match the wood on the booths?"
"Stop, it's perfect." Steve put your mind to rest. "Just like you!"
"Yeah yeah yeah," you giggled, walking behind the counter. "I guess you're pretty cool too. There's a few cookies left from the test bake. You want some?"
"Wait! Hold on" Steve said dramatically, walking away from you and out of the store.
You stood there confused for a few moments, before he walked back in. Nothing had changed, but he did approach the counter.
"Hello, I'm your first customer!" He enthused.
You giggled, looking at the case that was empty besides 2 chocolate chip cookies. "Hi there, Honey! What can I get'cha?"
"One chocolate chip cookie please" He smiled.
You knew he was recreating the moment the two of you met, though that felt like lifetimes ago, you could never forget the vivid memory of seeing his handsome face for the very first time.
"Okay, but I'm giving you two, because I think anyone who orders one cookie is lying to themselves." You said, putting the cookies in a bag for him.
"Why thank you very much!"
"I don't think I've seen you around here before, are you driving through?" You joked.
"Something like that." He chuckled.
"Well I hope to see you around here again soon, and here are your cookies." You handed him the bag.
"How much do I owe you?" Steve asked.
"They're on the house."
"I couldn't possibly accept that" Steve denied, pulling his wallet out of his back pocket. Out came the very same $20 bill the two of you have been passing back and forth since the day you met. You smiled and shook your head at him as he handed it to you. "You have a big day tomorrow, I think it's your turn to hold onto the good luck charm."
You accepted the pass off, "this doesn't mean I lost this argument, did it?"
"It totally does" Steve did a little happy dance.
"You're a cheeky little shit, but I love you."
He laughed at your statement, "I love you more!"
"I have a little surprise for you" You noted.
"You do?" His eyebrows raised.
Nodding, you pointed to an empty slot in the bake case. His eyes followed to read the tag, Sarah's Sandwich Cookies.
His big blues met yours again with the happiest puppy dog pout you've ever seen in your life, if that was even possible.
"What you said about your Mom really stuck with me, and I wanted to make sure her and her love for cookies were honored in a place you hold special memories in. So, marshmallow cookies are permanent and exclusive on the menu for this location." You explained.
He didn't have much to say, but he did walk around the counter and wrap you up in a big hug. "That's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Thank you."
"I wish I could've met her." You noted.
"She would've loved you so much, probably more than me." He giggled from above you.
"Impossible" you denied.
He gave you a kiss before letting you go.
"As much as I'd love to stay here forever and ever, I really do want to make sure you get some sleep." Steve noted.
"We can go now." You agreed, heart nervously pounding in your chest. "hey, really quick do you mind checking the oven to make sure it properly cooled down while I lock this register?" You asked.
"Sure thing, sweet thing" he nodded.
As he walked off, you smiled to yourself and your stomach filled with butterflies. You let him get a few paces ahead of you before leaning into the doorway of the kitchen while watching him reach for and open the oven doors.
He checked the temperature of the internal thermometer, which looked normal to him, but then, he stopped.
"Hey, I think someone forgot something in here!" He shouted for you, not quite understanding.
"That's odd, what is it?" You approached from behind.
"A cinnamon roll, but just one, and it's on a... plate?" He looked at it again. "Did you guys even make cinnamon rolls today?"
You smiled and shook your head at his wholesome cluelessness, but all of his attention was directed at getting the cinnamon roll out of the oven.
"No, we didn't." You denied. "But why would that be there in the first place?"
"Maybe someone wanted to warm one up them forgot about it" He pondered before pouting at it. "I don't know if that's more sad for the cinnamon roll or the person who forgo-"
Then he stopped.
His eyes met yours and his mouth fell open.
"Why would there possibly be a bun in the oven?!" You continued questioning with a huge uncontrollable smile, even though you were positive he understood now.
"You're lying." His eyes went wide, smile slowly spreading across his lips as tears welled in his eyes.
"No I'm not." You shook your head again with a chuckle and walked towards him. Out of your back pocket, you pulled out a very positive pregnancy test and showed it to him. "I'm definitely pregnant, like, super pregnant."
"You're pregnant?!" He blinked back his tears, one fell right down his cheek. "Like, right now?!"
You wiped it off with your thumb as you laughed at his question. "Right now."
"Holy shit!" He smiled, his hands landing on your shoulders, gently shaking them very enthusiastically. "You're pregnant! We're having a baby!"
"We are, we really really are!" You shared his enthusiasm, shaking his shoulders right back.
"Oh my gosh! When did you find out?" He questioned, eyes wide and staring at you in disbelief.
"Three days ago, I would've told you sooner but I wanted to surprise you." You explained, wiping another happy tear off his cheek.
"That's crazy, this is so crazy." He chuckled, finding himself unable to stop the tears from dripping down his cheeks. "How are you, are you feeling okay?"
"I've been constantly nauseous and trying so hard to hide it." You giggled at your own confession. "But other than that, so far so good. Are you feeling okay?"
"I didn't even know it was possible to be this happy or this in love but for some reason I'm feeling both at the same time, and I don't know what to do with myself." He confessed.
You smiled at his state of emotion, and smothered his face in kisses as he processed the news you just told him. Then, the news sunk in and his arms wrapped around you, and he took his turn smothering you in kisses.
"I'm so excited to go on this journey with you, this is incredible" he cried happily.
"You're gonna be the best dad ever." You cheesed, squeezing him back.
With two fingers under your chin, he raised your head and pressed a long, loving kiss on your lips. His palm rested on your cheek, and you sleepily sighed at the comfort of being held by your favorite boy.
"God, I love you so much." He confessed once more for the billionth time that day. "This is the most selfless thing anyone could ever do for someone, and I get to spend the rest of my life spoiling you rotten every single day and I'm so happy about it."
"It was so hard for me not to immediately tell you" You giggled. "But it was worth it to see you cute little face."
"Now I really want to make sure you get some sleep!" He enthused. "Oh, also..."
He pulled away from you and reached into his pocket, then pulled out a crisp $10 bill and handed it to you.
"What is this for?" You questioned, unable to hide your smile.
"Extra good luck! 10 for you, 10 for me, 10 for cinnamon roll." He explained.
"Never in my life have I felt quite as lucky as I do right now." You accepted.
$30 worth of good luck or not, the universe sent you Steve Rogers, and that was the day you won the lottery. That made you the luckiest girl I'm the whole world.
"Baby, if you need anything, and I mean anything, you better tell me to get it done for you. Hungry? I'm gonna find you a Michelin star meal. Tired? You better believe you're getting a full body massage. Can't reach the top shelf? Ring a bell and I'll bring a latter." He told you, and you could tell he was being absolutely serious. "I don't want you lifting a single finger, and I mean it!"
You chuckled and shook your head. "Don't say what you don't mean, because I'm going to be needing you a lot of that's the case"
"Being needed is literally all I've ever wanted in life" Steve accepted your statement.
"Well now with our little cinnamon roll on the way, we're both going to need you more than you'll ever know." You kissed him, and wiped the last of the happy tears off of his cheeks.
"You're right, it really is so nice to be needed."

My Bounty to Keep
AN: Finally done! Thank you to everyone who showed interest.
I use the first two episodes of 'The Mandalorian' for inspiration. I'll have one chapter for each of the Eppies. II is next.

Vessel x bounty
I'll admit that when I ran away from home two days ago I didn't really have a plan. I knew that I wanted to go see the galaxy beyond my home and settle down on a green planet. Maybe be a farmer, raise some livestock and just live a simpler life. However, that idea seemed to be more and more difficult after I got off world.
After I get off my home world of Xehiri my transport shuttle brought me to our moon, Aliv-4. This habitable moon is Xehiri’s main transport station. I’m not sure how long I spent looking at the transport schedule. I want to go as far as I can, as soon as I can. I also need to be sure I will have credits after the trip.
I decided to get a ticket to Neshan 4. It’s a planet that is between the mid rim and the upper rim, so it's probably a safe place to stay for a while. Plus it is a water planet with cities under the waves. It would be a great change of scenery. Thirty minutes after I buy my ticket I get checked in and start my journey to Neshan 4.
The trip goes smoothly until an alert is played. The shuttle has to make an emergency landing due to a problem with the fuel line. We end up in the spaceport on Lao-2X9. Lao is a city planet, known for having one of the biggest casinos in the galaxy. It can be a dangerous place for your wallet.
“So sorry everyone.” I heard the shuttle pilot say. “Unfortunately we're going to have to spend the night here. The fuel line maintenance won't be done until the morning.”
I heave a sigh at the information. I try to look on the bright side, at least we got complimentary drink tickets for the bar in the port. I was not looking forward to sleeping in the port but a good drink would soften the blow. I just needed to remember that I would be back on my journey in the morning. It could be worse, I could still  be at home with my parents.
The port is huge and has a few bars for me to choose from. I decided to follow a couple who broke away from the group. I overheard them mention the ‘east bar’ so I guessed that they had been here before. I ask if I could join them and the three of us walk together. When we get to the bar the couple get a table and sit at the bar. I give my ticket to the bartender who informs me that not only can I get two free drinks with my ticket but I can also get an appetizer. This night is really turning around.
When I finish my first drink and my small meal I notice someone has taken the seat next to me. I looked over at the stranger when the bartender handed me my second drink and asked for their order. Their voice is… odd. Like it is coming through a filter. When I glance over everything makes sense. The stranger is a Mandalorian!
He is in black body armor. His helmet has a thick white stripe on the top and a red stripe at the bottom where his mouth would be.  He is wearing a cape and has a staff resting on his back. Not to mention all the other weapons he must have. I can see a red crest in the shoulder closest to me. The crest looks like wings almost. When his helmet tilts toward me I turn away. I have heard stories about what happens to people who upset mandalorians. I don’t want to take any chances.
“What brought you here?” I hear the mandalorian ask. The bartender is gone and I don’t see anyone else with us, so I assume he is talking to me.
“Me?” I ask.
“Yes. What brings you here?”
“I'm just passing through. My shuttle is refueling.”
“Is this your first time on Lao-2X9?”
“Yes.”
As I look at the stranger I see that his helmet also has four black marks around the visor. It looks like he has six eyes. I wonder if he is even human. I can’t even see his hands.
“So you're not from around here?” He sounds disappointed. “I’m looking for someone. I heard that they might be around here. Their bounty is pretty high plus the client was willing to pay my extra fee for a live capture.”
“Well I hope you find those you are looking for.”
“Can I show you a picture? Maybe they were on the shuttle with you.”
I am really reluctant to keep talking to him but I have heard that ignoring a Mandalorian can make things bad. So I agree to take a look. The Mandalorian takes out a bounty puck and taps the top. A hologram springs to life and the person is very familiar to me. Because the bounty he has is on me!
I nearly fall on my face as I run out of the bar. I do my best to avoid the others in the port but for the few I run into I hope they will forgive me. I just found out I have a bounty on my head from the hunter trying to collect it!
I found my way out of the port and hid in an alley. As I try to catch my breath I realize I left all my things in the bar. Including my credits! So now my next moves are limited.
“Who put a bounty on me!” I quietly wonder out loud.
I cautiously look around on the street before I exit the alley. Or at least I tried to.  Just as I stepped on the street, hands grabbed me from behind. One around my mouth and the other around my middle. I get lifted as I try to kick and swing my fists.
One of my wild kicks connects and my attacker grunts in pain. However my little victory is short lived. I get thrown into the wall behind me. My attacker then punches me in the stomach pushing all the air out of my body. While I attempt to recover I feel my wrists getting restrained. A gag is shoved in my mouth, and then I am blindfolded. This has to be the Mandalorian from the bar.
Something sharp sticks into my arm and I suddenly feel sleepy but not enough to pass out. It is a strange in between. I am aware of what is happening but I can’t really move or speak. I feel myself get lifted up and put over his shoulder. He walks steady with me over his shoulder. We must be walking back to the port.
“Hey, is your friend ok?” I hear someone ask.
“They’re fine. Just had too much to drink.” The Mandalorian replies. It’s almost like he is just being a good friend, not kidnapping me.
The feeling returns to my body when we enter a ship. The sounds from the port quiet down and I hear the sounds of boots on metal. He stops and presses some buttons and drops something on the ground. I’m then flopped into a chair, my wrists are then tried to the arm rests. The blindfold comes off next.
Just as I thought he took me back to a ship. He did take my bag with him, I can see it on the ground. He grabs my chin to force me to look at him.
“I’m going to take out the gag. If you scream or spit I put it back. Do you understand?”
I nod my head ‘yes’. Slowly the Mandalorian removes the gag. Clearly waiting to see if I disobey him. When I don’t move he leaned away and grabbed a flask. He put the flask to my lips and grabbed my chin again to lift my head back.
“Drink this. It will help the drug move out of your system.” He ordered.
I don't trust him but I don’t have much of a choice but to drink out of the flask. The liquid tastes like bitter medicine. But just like he said a few minutes after the flask was shoved in my face I felt more alert.
Looking around I see that I am in a cockpit. I wonder what type of ship this is. The Mandalorian stares at me for a moment. He then spins in his chair to start his ship. The ship has left Lao 2X9’s atmosphere when I feel my strength return.
“How long have you been following me?” I ask when I get the energy.
“I don’t think you want to know.”
“How long.”
“It doesn’t really matter any more.”
“HOW LONG!”
“You were never going to make it to Neshan 4.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that it was more work to damage your shuttle's fuel line than it was to find you.”
Hearing that was like a slap to the face. It's not that I was trying to be the most stealthy person in the galaxy. But it still hurts my pride to hear him say that.
“Don’t be too upset. You did give me a good chase at the end.”
“Who sent you?”
“I’m sure you already know the answer to that.”
“Just tell me.”
“Given how much they were willing to pay, I would assume they are your parents.”
Hearing that is my last straw. I start to tear up. I can’t believe that they would do this! I just wanted to not get stuck in my hometown. I just wanted a life of my own. Even for just a little while.
“Stop crying. If you cry I put you in the Hold and I need to keep an eye on you. So stop.” He growls.
I try to calm down, I don’t know what the Hold is but I don’t want to find out. I have had too many surprises for one day. When I calm down the ship jumps into hyperspace. After that the Mandalorian turns to look at me. I don’t want to look at him.
“So, what were you running from?” He asked. “It must have been important if your parents were willing to hire me after 24 hours.”
When I don’t answer he puts a hand around my neck.
“Answer me.” He said, hand tightening for just a moment.
“They decided that it was time for me to settle down.” I say when his grip loosens. “What’s your name?”
“What?”
“You had a question, now I have a question.”
His helmet tilts to the side. “I’m called Vessel. Why did you want to go to Neshan 4?”
“It was the farthest I could get for the least amount of money. How much is my bounty?”
“10,000. Half when I took the job, the other when I drop you off.”
“Wow, that’s a lot of credits.”
“That’s why I wanted to know what you did.” He pauses. “Most of my clients don’t care if the bounty is warm or cold.”
“What do you mean by ‘settle down’?”
“My mom wants me to marry her best friend's son.”
“Congratulations.”
“He's a loser with no ambition. What's that symbol on your shoulder?”
“That’s my clan crest. I'm from the clan Sleepwalker.”
A button starts to flash and beeping sounds out in the cockpit, ending our question game. The Mandalorian… Vessel turns away from me and pulls a lever. The ship comes out of hyperspace  and he starts the landing sequence. After we land he turns back to me.
“I'm going to untie you now. Are you going to walk or am I going to carry you?” Vessel asked.
“I'll walk by myself.” I said. My pride can't handle being carried around like a prize. I guess in a way I am.
As we exit the ship Vessel grabs my bicep. I assume to make sure I don't run away. I couldn't even I wanted to, being back home has really crushed me. We walk to the spaceport entrance and I see my father. When he sees me and Vessel he taps my mom on the shoulder. She starts to wave her hand over her like we couldn't see her. Vessel lets my arm go once we reach them.
“Oh Sweetie,  you had me and your father so worried!” She said, giving me a hug.
“Thank you so much for your services.” My father says. I see him hand Vessel a small bag.
After collecting his credits Vessel turns away without a word. At least one of us gets to leave this place. I wonder where he will go next. My eyes start to sting as I watch him walk away. My parents led me out of the port to the family truck. I silently sit in the back and stare out of the window. My parents try to talk to me but I don’t answer. If I talk I’m going to cry. And I don't want to explain to them why I wanted to go.
It takes an hour to get out of the city and back onto the quiet town streets. The streets I grownup on and now the street I'll see for the rest of my life. Then suddenly I hear a loud bang. Then the truck veers into the brushes and hits a tree. We all got out to see what happened. The tire has a blaster hole in it! Who shot at us?
“Alright hands up!” Someone yells. I recognize that filtered voice!
Sure enough when I turn around there stands Vessel. Black armor shining in the sunlight. There is a speeder bike behind him. He is about ten feet away and he is pointing a blaster at us! What is he even doing here?
“You two keep your hands up. You, you're coming with me.” He says.
“What are you doing? You got your credits! LEAVE US ALONE!” My father yells.
I walk over to Vessel and he pushes me onto the bike. He sits behind me and starts the bike. As He leads against me I feel a chill go up my spine. I’ll have to explore that feeling at another time. However when his hand rests on my thigh  that feeling gets harder to explain away.
We are back on Vessel’s ship in no time. I have so many questions. It must show on my face because he laughs when he looks at me.
“You deserve to live a life. I’m going to give you a chance.” He explains. “Plus someone should teach you how to throw a punch properly.”
I don’t know what to say so I just laugh instead. You could have given me a thousand guesses about what would happen to me over the last four days. I never would have said this. Suddenly Vessel pushes me against the wall of his ship and covers my eyes. I hear a hiss, something metal hits the floor and warm lips are on mine.
“You’re mine now.”

I only want you
this is chapter 3! The other chapters are posted on my page
This chapter is a little short but the next one will be much longer!
————-
When i woke up the next day i felt like actual shit. I looked at my phone and read the time
“wow 1:36pm” i said to myself. I got up to use the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror
“so i feel like shit and look like shit… great” i said as i turned on the shower to wash off the rest of my birthday makeup that hadn’t came off from all my crying last night.
After my long hot shower i felt a little better. I looked back at my phone and seen i had a few messages
Shoko [1:42]: hey girl, how are you feeling?
Shoko [1:54]: text me whenever you feel like it okay?
i instantly responded to her thanking her for comforting me last night and letting her know that i was okay. I changed into some pjs, went and brushed my teeth and then combed out my hair. I walked over to my room door and opened it. I looked down at where i threw the necklace at satoru last night and saw it wasn’t there. ‘he must’ve really taken it’ i thought to myself. i walked downstairs and saw suguru on the couch eating popcorn and watching a movie by himself. He looked over to me and then back to the tv
“good afternoon sleeping beauty” he said
“haha very funny. is mom and dad back yet?” i asked him as i sat down next to him on the couch, grabbing a handful of his popcorn
“nah, they’re extending their trip for an extra 2 days. they asked how the party went and wanted to talk to you but i told them you were still sleep. So just call them later” he said. i nodded and grabbed some more of his popcorn. I began watching the movie with him, after a few minutes of silence he spoke again
“so…. do you want to talk about it?” he asked, still looking at the screen
“talk about what?” i asked, acting clueless. Suguru sighed and grabbed the remote, pausing the movie.
“why didn’t you tell me?” he said and turned to face me. I stayed silent though
“y/n, you know you can tell me anything. I could have told you he was seeing riko and that probably would have saved you some heartbreak” suguru said
“i didn’t want you to be mad at me” i said, tears starting to fall from my eyes again
“ i wouldn’t have gotten mad. You can’t control who you have feelings for. Now if you and satoru had started dating…that’s a different conversation for a different time” he said
“but i’ve been in love with him for so long, i didn’t even know how to tell anyone other than shoko” i said
“come here” suguru said as he put the popcorn down on the coffee table and gave me a hug.
“it’s okay, there’s plenty of other people out there baby sis okay? don’t get so stuck on just one” suguru said
“i told him i hated him, he probably hates me now” i said, crying even harder
“he doesn’t hate you y/n. he was really upset actually. he blamed himself, he felt like he led you on somehow” i broke the hug and looked up at suguru
“what?! he didn’t do anything, i fell in love with him myself. i was just upset” i said, feeling guilty for letting my emotions get the better of me last night
“you can tell him that yourself then, once you’re ready to talk to him again. He also gave me this and told me to give it to you” Suguru took the necklace satoru had given me out of his pocket and handed it to me.
“i’ll talk to him later today” i told suguru as i took the necklace from him.
it’s now 8pm and i’ve been pacing back and forth in my room trying to decide if i should call satoru or not.
“just do it” i said to myself. I sat down on my bed and hovered my finger over the call button. after 3 minutes of battling with myself i finally pressed the call button. the phone only rang two times before he answered the phone
“hello?” he said, his voice sounding really deep like he just woke up
“hey…did i wake you?” i asked feeling bad for waking him up
“no, everything okay though?” satoru said, clearly lying but i let it slide
“yeah… i just wanted to call and apologize to you about how i acted last night. I shouldn’t have gotten so upset at you just because you rejected me. I’m sorry” i said to him, biting my bottom lip nervous of what his response was going to be
“it’s okay don’t worry about it!” he said. there was a quick moment of silence before satoru spoke up again
“but.. if i did start dating riko, would you stop talking to me?”
i didn’t answer for a few seconds. My heart still felt heavy at the thought of him dating another girl but i can’t be mad at him because he’s happy with someone who’s not me
“no” was all i had to strength to say to him without crying again
“okay, i won’t ask anymore questions. If you would’ve said yes i don’t think i would’ve asked her out anymore” satoru said jokingly
“damn i should’ve said yes then” i said half joking but half serious as i laughed back with him.
“Seriously though y/n, you really do mean a lot to me. I would be sad if you had decided to not speak to me anymore. Suguru almost beat my ass last night after seeing how upset you were” satoru said softly over the phone
“i guess i shouldn’t have made such a big scene, sorry” i said as i got underneath my blanket
“its cool. As long as we’re good now , that’s all that matters” he responded
we spoke on the phone for almost two more hours before we finally hung up.
It almost felt like nothing ever happened and that we were back to normal
maybe i can really move on from him
——————————————
y’all bare with me PLEASE. i feel like there’s so much talking and not enough action so i’m going to get around to that…. TRUST. The next chapter will most likely be a time skip so we can get a move on the relationships and everything

Sweet Love
Summary: You're an up-and-coming writer, congratulations. To protect your beloved job, you're willing to do anything. Even strike a deal with the devil, better known as your sister's neighbor. You and Dean Winchester don't really see eye to eye, but in a moment of desperation, you agree to collaborate with him for a greater good.
Author's Notes: Many characters do not belong to me but to the Supernatural Universe (2005-2020). I hope you enjoy the fanfic's story. The fanfic will contain strong language and future adult content.

CHAPTER TWO
It's been two days since you made your agreement with Dean, and there's no sign of him. You even thought about going to him, but he always seems to be busy screwing someone. Literally. Yesterday, a beautiful man left his apartment, and you gave up on going to Dean's place because you swore it was Castiel. Well, to put it briefly, Castiel is Dean's great love story. At least, that's what you think. When you moved into your sister's apartment, Castiel lived with Dean. They seemed like quite the couple, even though officially they said they were having a "casual thing." But about a year ago, Castiel broke up with Dean. Rumors say Castiel wanted emotional commitment, and that's Dean's biggest nightmare. So when you saw a handsome man very similar to Castiel and wearing a trench coat like Castiel used to wear, you thought they had made amends. But in the end, it wasn't Castiel. This makes you sure that Dean is avoiding helping you. It could be because he's quite stupid when he wants to be, or because he didn't see any benefit in helping you.
You then decide to try writing the long-awaited smut, describing how the male protagonist's skin smells like men's deodorant and cheap moisturizer, and how the female protagonist is intrigued by the male protagonist's eyes. You try and try, but your protagonists don't seem to want a physical connection. If only your publisher would accept this. But you're just a few steps away from becoming permanently unemployed. So, wearing a somewhat revealing nightgown and your Stitch slippers, you practically run to Dean's apartment door. But you can't bring yourself to knock on his door; courage is lacking. Or perhaps you feel humiliated.  You turn around, thinking about what you'll have to do to apply for any other job. Or how it will be to move back in with your mother when you're already too old for it to seem like a viable option.
"Do you make a habit of standing in front of other people's apartments?" Dean Winchester asks, opening the door to his apartment. You turn around delicately as if caught off guard. The feeling of embarrassment washes over you.
"No, actually, it's something I exclusively do with you, sweetheart. Can you explain why you gave up on helping me?" You speak, feigning confidence. Dean looks you up and down.
"You're going to regret this, you know?" Dean says boastfully as I walk further and further out of his apartment, you noticing that he's in a bathrobe and him apparently noticing that you're in a nightgown.
"Dean, I'm not a little girl. You don't need to protect me. I just want you to help me. Do you understand this?" You get closer to him. Your face getting closer to his. You feel the strange need to kiss him.
"Sam thinks our partnership is a bad idea. According to him, I'm taking advantage of the fact that your sister is away to try to lead you down the wrong path." Dean tries to explain the reason why he hasn't helped you yet.
"Is he right?" You ask, smiling mischievously as you keep your eyes locked on Dean's. He looks at you, as if calculating what answer to give you. You presume he's undecided between lying or not. In reality, it means he wants to take advantage of you.
"Probably is. The problem is, everyone knows you and me, it's not gonna work out. Either you'll give up on me, or I'll mess everything up." He says, looking intensely at you, as you hold onto the edge of the robe he's wearing and bring your faces closer together.
"I didn't come here to play cat and mouse with you, Winchester. Now, tell me how to start a romantic story with a bit of sexual tension and forget your worries." You say, cutting straight to the point.
"What are we doing now. Analyzing each other halfway between our apartments. Casually wondering if it wouldn't be interesting to take off the few pieces of clothing we're wearing?" Dean's suggestion sounds good, but in your head it sounds like a warning. What you and he are doing is building sexual tension. Analyzing each other's bodies, observing details such as what they are wearing and moving closer and closer.
"Are you saying this is the method you're going to use to help me? Try to fuck me?" You say, moving away from him a little and coughing falsely. That was letting you embarrassed, in a good way.
"What better way than to practice with you? Write about what you're experiencing right now, about your filthiest thoughts about me, you, and the floor of my house. Maybe the shower, or the mattress?" Dean says, approaching you step by step, making you lose your breath. Your head lightly knocks on your door. Or rather at the door of your sister's apartment.
"What's the next step in your help?" You speak almost in a whisper next to Dean who is face to face with you. His fingers then lightly travel around your waist, holding you steady. He wants to tease you.
"Imagine that your character is going to do exactly what I'm doing, seduction works like that. But something good about seduction is knowing when to do things. Now it would be easy to win you over but leaving you eager for more, it's much better. " Dean says, letting go of your waist and composing himself.
"You're more useful than you seem. I hope you know you're going to need more than that if you want to help me with this book." You say trying not to seem affected by him.
"Get ready, kitten. I know very well how to help you. Just try to take it to the professional. I don't know how to deal with people who are in love with me." Dean says smiling and you roll your eyes. How arrogant he is.
"I'll see you tomorrow, idiot." You say, opening the door to your sister's apartment and closing it in Dean's face. You then run to get your computer and write down everything about what just happened.
