I'm debating starting a youtube. One of the things I love about learning how to do stuff is sharing the process and skills involved with people and that seems to be the preferred platform for that kind of thing; I find that with a lot of what I'm making it's so niche or weird that there's not easily findable tutorials on how to do what I want to do, so maybe it would help if I made them? Tiktok is okay as a quick and easy way to slap process videos together but I kind of hate it and I also don't like how unsearchable and short-lived content is there.

Youtube would be a lot of work, and I'm not convinced it would be worth the effort, but on the other hand, if I could get some traction there, it would be nice to have passive ad revenue to offset project costs without having to directly sell the random crap I'm making.

I dunno, guys. This site has been home for my art for a long time, and I don't see that changing, but it would be nice to have resources to put into some of the larger projects that aren't directly sellable.

I gave myself a writing challenge and I am fascinated by it

So basically I put the robins in a randomizer to give them a new order/role (because I just...kinda wanted to see what would happen + I like role-reversal AUs) and got results that are giving me a fucking brain blast.

Stephanie, the first sidekick who defines the role

Tim, the sidekick who dies and comes back wrong

Dick, the sidekick who saves Batman from himself

Damian, the sidekick who was never supposed to be a sidekick but would go on to prove everyone wrong

Jason, the youngest sidekick who is still the Kid Wonder

...So this is fucking wild. I've got some ideas and several of these fit perfectly (Dick's role is pretty similar to his one in canon), but some of these are fucking INCREDIBLE to explore (Steph being the first Robin is something I never even considered but tbh I kinda love it).

I probably won't write a fic or anything because tbh I don't like publishing my writing that much, but I might expand this into a full AU and post about it. I might randomize other stuff too (ie, stuff that I cannot change vs stuff that I cannot keep the same) but this fucking rules as a starting point.

How similar are other Bill and pre Dipper Bill? And at what point did they diverge?

Hmmm. At this point they're quite different Bills, but exactly when that started is a good question.

But it definitely goes back further than just Meeting Dipper.

For one, the whole 'world conquering' attempt on Our Bill's part failed miserably about, what, 40ish years ago? After which he had all those decades to sulk and stew in said faceplant of a plan. Meanwhile, Other Bill likely already had his conniving fingers in his own chosen terrestrial pie at that point. He wouldn't get ALL the way there for a while, but hey - he did get what he wanted!

So there's a period of time there where they were already starting to go different ways. What with Other Bill being successful in his plan, while Our Bill got Totally Exiled until an adorable accidental summon opened up a path - those different end states are the result of a million little different decisions they made. Whether they went to this party or that one, the ideas that they pursued on whims, the specifics they wanted for Earth, etc.

I'd guesstimate they started diverging anywhere from a hundred years back to a couple hundred. That's a minimum, though - it could be longer! Whatever it is, it's a quite a grip of time for humans - but not all that much for a Bill.

i might get some hate for this depending on where this post goes but i think lesboys are so valid and the discourse about them is so ridiculous. like you guys shouldn't have to deal with all that and it frustrates me that people throw hissy fits over an identity that literally does not affect them at all.
