Pepperup Potion - Relieves and/or cures cold symptoms

“Hold still, Moony… Here we go.”

Sirius carefully poured the Pepperup Potion they had taken turns to brew for the past three days. Peter, being the best at Potions, had started it up, and now him and Remus were collecting it in a vial to bring it up to the dorm, where Peter was keeping watch on James.

“Let’s hope it works, I’d like to sleep tonight,” Remus yawned.

Like every winter, James had come down with a solid cold. And like every time it happened, it had been a tragedy. He had taken to bed, asking for hot tea with honey, lamenting the fact he couldn’t play Quidditch and wondering aloud between coughs if that was it, if this was the year the cold killed him. So the rest of the Marauders had sprung into action and finally the potion was ready. Sirius and Remus left the dungeons and walked back to Gryffindor Tower, not even stopping once to make out in some hidden corner. They needed James to get well soon, for his sake and for their own peace of mind and sleep schedule. Case in point, when they walked back in the dorm James was wondering out loud if he would ever be able to breathe through his nose again and Peter was sitting by his bed, head in his hands.

“Please tell me it’s ready,” he groaned, looking up at them. “Or I’ll get someone to put him out of his misery.”

“That’s spineless, Wormtail,” Sirius laughed. “Why don’t you kill him yourself?”

“Because I’ll be asleep by then,” Peter yawned, getting up from the chair and throwing himself on his own bed, closing the curtains with a flick of his wand.

“Here, Prongs,” Remus said, carefully helping James up and holding the vial to his mouth. “This will make you feel better in no time.”

“Promise?” James whined.

“I promise,” Remus nodded. “Drink this, go to sleep and you’ll wake up feeling yourself again.”

James did as he was told and settled back on the pillows. Sirius watched Remus tuck him in and close the curtains wishing him sweet dreams.

“I’m knackered,” he groaned then. “Nap?”

Sirius nodded and they curled up together on Remus’s bed, not even bothering to change out of their robes.

“You’re really good with him when he’s like this,” Sirius said, resting his head on his boyfriend’s chest.

“I know how it feels to not be well,” Remus yawned.

“I know, but you have so much patience… You’ll be an amazing father if you have kids one day, Moony.”

There was a moment of silence, so long Sirius thought Remus had fallen asleep. Then, a hand threaded through his hair.

“Would you?” Remus whispered.

“Would I what?”

“If I wanted kids one day… Would you?”

Sirius’s heart jolted in his chest and he moved his head up to be able to look Remus in the eyes.

“Have children with you?” he asked.

Remus nodded slowly and Sirius’s heart skipped a beat.

“Merlin, yes,” he breathed.

They fell asleep as they were still kissing.

Regulus never actively tried to shut people out, at least he didn't to begin with. As a child, he was one of the bubbliest kids he could have been in his circumstances. In fact he was always better at making friends than Sirius was until he wasn't.

No, Reg never blocked himself off until he had to. Because sometimes you realise too late that your whole life you've been taken advantage of because you're warm and bright. And sometimes the brightest people become the coldest people, the ones who are near to impossible to reach.

Regulus Arcturus Black was not a cold person. The world froze his warmth time and time again until he couldn't bring himself to fight back.

lily being a big doctor who fan and she introduces it to them and they all obsess over it together and will always laugh when remus wears something resembling one of the doctor's outfits (which he does a lot)

lily and regulus first bonded over classic literature and would read together in the library all the time, and one time james comes over with his friends and peeks at the book both of them are reading and comments "little women? ooh who's your favourite sister? mines definitely beth, made me cry" and lily swoons right there. regulus' swoon moment for james is when he sees regulus reading hamlet and recites the 'to be or not to be' monologue terribly.

james picked up a bit of french from sirius and flirts with regulus and lily in french, absolutely forgetting regulus is fluent however lily doesn't know any french so she asks regulus to tell her what james said and he'd lie and say an absolutely terrible pick up line making james panic and have to just say the truth

the day lily and james found out regulus has no clue who abba are. their souls died. and they introduced him to the band but he just could not like it. until he found out sirius pretends he doesn't like abba, so regulus decided to pretend he does just to annoy sirius but also as an excuse to dance with an extremely excited lily and james

i think this is a fairly unpopular jegulily opinion, but lily and regulus dating each other first. james has a crush on both of them and is friends with lily, not really friends with regulus. while lily and regulus have veen friends for a while, having a study group together with remus and they liked each other so lily asked him out and they started non-publically dating (only their friends knowing) and then both of them started growing feelings for james while together so they talked about it and went on separate dates with him then the second date all three together

angsty hc now, after finding out regulus joined the death eaters, lily immediately broke up with regulus and refused to talk to him again. james heard him out about why he joined, but felt he had to break up with regulus due to it. just before he died in the cave, regulus visited them and gave them a letter, making them promise not to open it till midnight. they listened and waited but after opening the letter where he said s last goodbye to them, they both regretted it so much and wish they broke the promise and opened it straight away.

James would literally never get sick so he was always the best caretaker in the marauders because he would legit just never get even so much as a cold

Remus on the other hand would constantly get sick whether it was just a runny nose and sore throat or a mild case of pneumonia he was forever sick

James would always take care of Remus whenever he became ill during their first year when remus was scared of being a bother James would single-handedly stay up making sure remus was ok

Remus would never forget it and would always try to help James out too, and even though James never got sick that boy was a clumsy wreck losing his glasses forgetting his books, if James wasn’t doing something for someone else he tended to be very bad at taking care of himself

Some nights, James wants to be the small spoon (or rather pup) to Edward's big spoon. James has that pout that will always make Edward give in. But...It's easier said than done, as Edward is rather smaller than him. James has to carefully maneuver himself under Edward until the latter can almost climb atop his head. But James's purring is better than any sleeping pill in the end.

I love The Forgotten Son, because Brigadier (tho he’s still a colonel when this is set) goes back to his home village, and realises he remembers basically none of his childhood, and the other soldier he’s with asks “did you have a traumatic childhood?” And Brig’s like “nope. Definitely not a traumatic childhood. I remember basically nothing but it must be because of something else”

Then the rest of the book proceeds to show that Brig did indeed have a traumatic childhood that slowly comes back to him
