What do you think makes Tim drake special? Aside from a death in the family moment… 🤦
“death in the family moment”? Do you mean Jason? Or are you saying that Tim was introduced because of what happened during Death in the Family? I’ll defend both Tim and Jason just in case haha
Tim Drake is special because he chose this life. Much like Barry prior to The Flash: Rebirth (2009), Tim didn’t need a tragic backstory to inspire him to go out and be a hero. He also didn’t need superpowers to become a superhero (unlike Barry). No, Tim is Robin (Red Robin/Drake) because he saw the need and didn’t wait for the vacuum to be filled, he went out and filled it. Tim believes in Batman in a way that almost no one else does. He believes in Batman’s ability to save Gotham and he understands completely how and why Batman can be that hero. He’s also unique in his equal belief in Robin. That’s why he’s so okay with not “graduating” from being Robin, because unlike so many others, he recognizes that Robin is just as important for Gotham as Batman is and it’s this intense understanding that makes him such a cool and important character.
Now for Jason, I think he’s unique because he’s the redemption story. I’m sure some people would call him a failure, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Anyone who knows anything knows that you only fail something when you stop trying and Jason has never stopped trying. No matter how horribly life and the people in it have treated him, Jason never gives up on helping others. You know all that stuff I said about Bruce caring even when he has no reason to? Yeah, Jason is every bit Bruce’s son in that. But Jason is a redeemed character through and through, he was the Robin that died, the one that was made to believe that no one wanted him, was convinced that he was a failure and yet he came back, had a bit of an evil era, and then he was redeemed. He accepted his faults and the faults of those around him and he became determined to do better or die trying.
There’s some other points I’ve made before, but I don’t want to rehash so this is all I’ll say for now haha 🫡

I was gonna write a big essay on why the film making for a lot of gmmtv shows I've watched don't do it for me as a larger reflection on why I don't bother with the studio at large and how I think they do their fans/audiences dirty
but I'm really fucking lazy and also idk if I want that heat

Red Hood is praised by the dead in crime ally they all like him and give him the title of "protector of those left behind and avenger of the dead" but he spends so much time carrying for crime ally that he has no time for himself so when the ghost king came in the ghost knew what they had to do

happy appomattox anniversary! your friendly reminder that the confederacy sucked shit in every aspect of existence and the only positive of its existence is that it polarized the united states into passing the 13th amendment.

Poll adventure (paventure? lol) Day 5: read the small story tidbit below the poll for more details, OR just vote based on initial impression
(✦ see past poll results + further information HERE (link) ✦)
The winning option of yesterday's poll was that the adventurer should choose a suspicious egg as his gift ….
"He carefully plucks the egg from the gift pile, wrapping it in spare fabric and tucking it away inside a small wooden box within his backpack for safety. Not really wanting to stick around and get accidentally pulled into scary underground tunnels or something, he shakily bids the Well Creature farewell, and continues on through the forest, just following whatever he can find that looks vaguely like a path.. He makes an occasional stop to pick up a cool rock, harvest berries, or let the cat play in the grass, but mostly just wanders aimlessly, lost in daydreams and contemplations of how his New Fun Life Of Spontaneous Adventure is going so far......
Eventually, the forest tapers off into a more open area of land, hosting what seems like a humble little village. By this point, it's nearly nightfall, which reminds him that he's actually quite afraid of the dark, so he scrambles about town for a moment until finally finding the local Inn. After nervously stumbling inside, he rents the cheapest room available, then sits alone, snacking on some free leftover food scraps and plain water. It's been a tiring day, but in the spirit of becoming an adventurer and pushing himself to have as many experiences as possible, he figures he could hang around downstairs a little longer, perhaps get one more thing done before bed -- What should he do?"

I don't know if it's funny or frustrating that so much of the Batman fandom believes that murdering criminals would lower the crime rate, and Jason's techniques would work better than Bruce.
PLEASE, open a history or sociology book on criminality, it doesn’t work this way at all and there's a reason our systems have become less violent toward criminals. There's a reason why the death penalty is for less crimes than before and even disappeared in multiple countries (spoiler: it doesn't work, it doesn’t lower the crime rate). There's a reason why we hate violent cops and when cops kill criminals instead of arresting them.
If the death penalty doesn't stop crime, what is making you think another kind of murder threat will?
