people need to realize that dissolving the lines between gender also means dissolving the lines between sexuality. you cannot say gender is fake and then say sexuality is strict and rigid.
there are multigender/genderfluid people who are lesbians and gay men at the same time. there are mspec lesbians/gays/straights who have a complex relationship with gender and their sexuality. there are gay men who are women and lesbians who are men because male isn't the opposite of female.
"conflicting" labels are a part of many people's queer experience, because the human experience isnt simple enough to be put into neat perfect categories. if you truly support trans/genderqueer people, you need to accept the fact that gender and sexuality is complex and there will be people whose identities you don't understand

for anon! these use colors from the lunian and solian flags and colors representing boyhood and girlhood. these terms could also be used as a shorter version of 'mspec lesboy' and 'mspec veldigirl/turigirl'.

Pearlian Lesbian & Veldian
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pearlian Lesbian (left), Pearlian Veldian (right)
Pearlian: Being a man, woman, and non-binary, attracted to men, women, and non-binary individuals. (Being MLM/WLW/NBLNB/MLW/MLNB/WLNB/WLM/NBLM/NBLW)
Lesbian: Generally/Usually defined as “Queer attraction to women” exclusive or not.
Veldian: Generally/Usually defined as “Queer attraction to men” exclusive or not.
Like my Opalian/Iridian and Anfisian posts, these are made with multigender/genderfluid and abro/mspec individuals in mind. These flags are made for anyone who feels they’re both Pearlian and Lesbian/Veldian, whether at the same time due to split attraction, one’s personal preference of gender, or primarily being Pearlian while feeling their general attraction is Lesbian/Veldian.
Of course generally my flags are inclusive, so if you id as something other than lesbian (such as Sapphic/Gay Woman, etc.) or veldian (such as Vincian/Gay Man, etc.) feel free to use these flags as long as you feel your attraction is queer.
I’ll probably be tagging these as mspec gay stuff since Pearlian can sometimes be a mspec term. Also tagging as Lesboy/Veldigirl b/c I feel like folks may like these terms as well for this lol.
These combo flags were originally posted August 6th, 2022.

In general, binary men cannot be lesbians. However, while being trans makes them no less of men in any way, some binary trans men may choose to still identify with the label/community if they identified as such before realizing they were men and still feel some form of connection to the term and community despite realizing they were men. This is up to the individual trans man, as they may feel more safe continuing to identify as lesbian/be part of lesbian spaces, either due to personal history, discomfort with male spaces due to trauma from cis men, or other personal reasons.
The idea that trans men can be lesbians is based purely in a respect for the autonomy of individual trans men who previously identified as such and due to complexity in their identity, trauma, comfort levels, or other personal reasons, still choose to identify as such- but that being said, trans men are absolutely 100% real men. While identifying as a lesbian in no way makes a trans man less of a man, a common form of transandrophobia holds that trans men are actually just lesbians because lesbians often feel some sense of detachment from their gender. The label lesbian shouldn't be applied to trans men as a whole in any way, but individual trans men who feel comfortable with it should be respected. Identity is complex. While a large amount of trans men may be completely uncomfortable identifying as lesbian, and they should never be treated like they're "just confused lesbians" and should have their identities fully respected, individual trans men who do are no less of men for doing so and should be respected as well.
And for good measure, the lesboy/male lesbian carrd. And another one.
A similar argument can be made for trans women who are veldian/turian/gay men/etc.

lilaeboy | violaegirl
lilaeboy: being both lilaen (lilae lesbian) and a lesboy; a lilaen boy; a lesboy who is exclusively attracted to women and those who do not primarily identify as men
violaegirl: being both violaen (violae veldian) and a veldigirl; a violaen girl; a veldigirl who is exclusively attracted to men and those who do not primarily identify as women
[pt: lilaeboy: being both lilaen (lilae lesbian) and a lesboy; a lilaen boy; a lesboy who is exclusively attracted to women and those who do not primarily identify as men
violaegirl: being both violaen (violae veldian) and a veldigirl; a violaen girl; a veldigirl who is exclusively attracted to men and those who do not primarily identify as women. end pt]
figured i'd also coin these along with the last terms! the top four stripes of each flag are inspired by the lilaen/violaen flags and the bottom two represent being a boy/girl.

Mspec Lesbian, Straightbian and Lesboy exclusionism harms the *entire* queer community, including other lesbians: Let's talk about it.
(Trigger warning: This post discusses bigotry and queermisia. Read at your own risk). First thing's first: What *are* these labels? (Regular text: First thing's first: What *are* these labels?) An mspec lesbian, also called lunians, is someone is both both mspec (bi, pan, ply, omni, etc) and a lesbian. A straightbian, also called a leshet or straight lesbian, is someone who is both straight and a lesbian. And finally, a lesboy is, well, a male lesbian! Now, you may be asking, "Aren't those labels harmful"? (Regular text: Now, you may be asking, "Aren't those labels harmful"?) Believe it or not, they aren't!
Mspec Lesbians are not a new thing. In fact, they've been around for a while. Lesbian originally referred to individuals (mostly women at the time) who were in a relationship with or attracted to other women at the time, regardless of if it was exclusive attraction or not. However, in the 70s, lesbians who were or had been in a relationship with men, regardless of if they were attracted to them or not, were pushed out by the community- Something I'll go into detail with later! So, why would anybody want to identify with those labels? (Regular text: So, why would anybody want to identify with those labels?) There are many reasons why someone would use these labels!
A person might identify as an Mspec Lesbian or a Straightbian because of the following: 🧡They're genderfluid or multigender. 🧡They're abrosexual/romantic, or sexually fluid. 🧡They're questioning their identity. 🧡They use the split-attraction model (ex, Pansexual Homoromantic, Homosexual Heteroromantic, etc). 🧡They're part of a system, and they use this as a collective label. 🧡And many more! Now, why would someone identify as a lesboy? Here's many reasons: 🧡They're genderfluid or multigender. 🧡They're questioning their gender/sexuality. 🧡They're a trans woman/transfem reclaiming the term "man" or "boy" 🧡They're part of a system which has many lesbians and men/masc-aligned individuals. 🧡They're a woman/fem-aligned individual with a masculine presentation, and uses masc labels to describe them. 🧡And many more! Common arguments against Mspec Lesbians, Straightbians and Lesboys (And why those arguments are harmful). (Regular text: Common arguments against Mspec Lesbians, Straightbians and Lesboys (And why those arguements are harmful). A common argument I see against mspec lesbians/straightbians is that "Lesbians don't like men"/"If you date men, you're not a lesbian"/"If you like men, you're not a lesbian". And that makes me incredibly angry. These terms not only have TERFy origins, but they harm the ENTIRE lesbian community, not just mspec lesbians and straightbians. How? Well, the sayings invalidate lesbians that have dated men *before* realizing they were lesbian, and they invalidate lesbians that dated men in order to stay closeted. Not to mention the sayings are kind of SWERFy too, as they ignore lesbian sex workers who work with men. Another common argument is that "Mspec lesbians/straightbians will make men want to harm/rape actual lesbians!" This is victim blaming at it's finest. This shit is going to HARM rape victims. You're not defending rape victims here. You're victim blaming them /nbh. An argument I see against lesboys is "Lesbians cannot be men". This is inherently transphobic no matter the intent, as this saying originated from TERFs. Now before you come at me with "So you think trans women are men!?", first off, absolutely not. Second off, think about this: There's men in real life (mostly trans men) who use the lesbian label too! Now, here's other ways excluding mspec lesbians, straightbians and lesboys is harmful: For one, excluding these groups (more specifically mspec lesbians and straightbians) invalidates abrosexuals. And pretty much destroys the purpose of the split attraction model. Secondly, most arguments against these terms are pretty much examples of TERF rhetoric, treimisia and pretty much one of those messages that says "If you like men/are a man you're a gross monster". And yes, the same applies to excluding mspec gays, straightcians, turigirls and gaybians too! In fact, most arguments against them are the same exact thing as well! All harmful exclusionist transphobic bullshit. So, if you invalidate mspec lesbians, straightbians and lesboys, you invalidate other members of the queer community, including other lesbians.
Lastly, have some carrds that may explain things better than I do (Warning: Some of those carrds do contain slur usage and discussion of sexual topics. Tread lightly if those things make you uncomfortable!): Lesboy Carrd Sapphic Solidarity Carrd Male Lesbians Carrd. Another Mspec Lesbian Carrd. Some history featuring the bi lesbian label. The original Mspec Lesbian carrd is unfortunately no longer around however I was able to find an archive of it.
Edit: Replaced "transmisandry" with "treimisia" due to the word "misandry" having misogynistic origins.
